well we're got a very exciting episode today on our channel now we've hinted this for some time if finally comes through with this is the Bush mechanic challenge now very excited about this one because we've got five thousand dollars to build and modify a vehicle that's track ready we're gonna build these things in my shed here and then we're also going to take them out the tracks into the glass house man there's some of the toughest challenges known to man and full wheel drive and done there's a bit of a catch though isn't there mate there is mate but the catch was we had to buy each other of all driving I have you got me a cracker of a vehicle anchor absolutely this is a thing like when you're looking at a vehicle that is obviously a sub 5000 all of me you needed enough money in the bank to do mods you know make it capable enough to get out in the tracks exactly I did might I looked long and hard I saw five didn't tested five different vehicles along the way finally came across an absolute cracker Mike you love your highlights and I do and I think you're gonna be very happy with the vehicle chose bring it on let's have a look a have a look at this my absolute based boxers ever made I wanted one of these so just about ever oh stop it how good is that and it draws really nice and that's right as a Dom yeah couple little rust holes you gonna get don't worry about that it was very cheap vehicle yeah I've got an absolute bargain on this thing make fast - I bet very very slow yes very very slow that'll suit you like it's like wow stock is a rock yeah no I'm just someone loved this car and that's what I like about it it's just a good quality secondhand buy and at the price mate you cannot go wrong I reckon I've bought the best secondhand for you call now or can to see what you got me yeah all right so you said you did the legwork you know went and checked out a whole bunch of different vehicles I didn't do I decided I was like what I even put it to UM to the audience on Instagram looking for a car cuz I'll struggling what car to get you I thought oh maybe a secret or something but yeah the car got you I reckon you're gonna love it mate sold axel axel coil springs from yeah well can I be series or something what a series what I gonna tell let's have a look guys I've been wrong what's with the badge I got you your dream ball drive right you bought me a really cool car I got you that's a Nissen for trial yeah and why do you say the paint job on it like what is with that paint job it's got horses on it it's an absolute base I know you're a little bit of a concrete cowboy so I thought you know horses I had a bit of a country boy yeah look at it look wow it's even got three clear coat missing the best part is it's all out as well okay very very small thing book so much I think they're all gonna be honest Jake you for trial before especially one I've never seen a car that looks like this before airbrushing yeah I think so and I think there's more horses on the side this owner should probably save these pennies a favor yeah what might be a 60 lady series oh well okay based I how does it does it start does it run it it runs ish yeah it runs so let me get this straight I looked long and hard than why you the carry Andre yeah they only bought me thank you gonna be good to be fun might the time is exactly 12 midday we've got 24 hours to build these beasts and get him out in the tracks so the challenges that we need to build these vehicles for we need to make sure their track ready there's gonna be every sort of off-road obstacle known to man which open rocks were talking ruts mud big challenges in the glasshouse mountains that's all I know at this stage we need to get them ready for camping as well and he's spending a few nights ad in the bush tom has already cooked decided to click it over mate we don't have a lot of time to build these things let me go through the Hilux first now we've got a five thousand total budget that includes the purchase price of the vehicle I was able to wheel and deal and get yours at twenty four hundred dollars five hundred bucks for that leaves you $2,600 $2,600 to get the mods you need you had to build that thing okay yeah all mine well okay so the the GQ was about 1,200 bucks solving a buck yeah so that leaves you what about 3,800 I think are you gonna pay a bit to spend on mods I do yes you do it wisely cuz the highlights will be giving you a run for your money I reckon look at that look at that oh the horses the ground over you that horses economy I think I'm gonna call it Daryl Daryl you know Bryce let the holes of you that's all I have oh that Olivia she's a face look let's get into it Mike or it can we take those beasts out go from parts right do I get some parts I'm I've got some ideas what I need to get ready - yeah righto let's get into it I thought kazar in a mic sick I see it all right is there any trick to start these things jockeys well up the road by the time I get Darryl started but even then it's really not running well as a backfire my way into town to pick up some mods I've also got delivery confirmation that a bunch of spare parts for the vehicles will be arriving at my shed from the legends at spares box we've done a little bit of shopping I think they've bought really well oh yeah little stuff I've got here I'm very excited this is gonna completely transform little Darrell over here here it's gonna be an absolute weapon when I finish with it I'll go through it my got a two inch lift got that from fulcrum suspension now that's gonna be back about eight hundred bucks okay so new Springs new shocks up caster bushes as well yeah gotta set a thirty five inch tires mate yeah thirty fives on on the bingo I know I don't know I I think I can make em fit so there I've actually Saudi but I said at our city back about fifteen hundred bucks then I went with the fridge okay yeah because I figured I'll be waiting a long time back at camp for you to come and make me because I'm got the far capable vehicle yeah I also had a couple of bucks left so I got some just some fuel hose and I've got a little inline fuel filter and the way I figured it as well if I'm sitting at camp having a car BYU have you to get off the tracks maybe show so bombed or whatever I've also got a UHF from Jay and me now this one is only about 300 bucks yeah okay so nice budget one super capable five watts she's good to go you got everything everything pretty much nope York tomorrow I'll go do this I think I've installed it but how did you go look I didn't get as many things as you but let's check it out mate this what I got not much mods and not much here yeah so first thing you notice is I mentioning score myself a winch so that's the run ver 11 XP it was about 900 bucks so I'm wrecking pretty good but I've still got a sort of a bar for that sorry I'll get to that tongue yeah it's gonna fit a winch mic to go stand at all I can cross that bridge when we get there but probably gonna be at 20 hours left yeah I think so the other thing you notice yep there's two lockers there mate but don't see that I'm gonna see that is gonna be twin locked so so where's your candy mods yeah no don't worry about that I've got a twin locks house mate you don't need cabin mods when you be very hard for your diff locks to keep you these party you've got a freed so I think I've now over the fridge correct yeah you don't have a fridge that's a big thing out of this we're also going to set a spot evil yeah so they were about 700 bucks so are there the icon driving lights from Tara loom supervisor things in super good quality light weight now I understand why we've done this because you're gonna be so stuck yet in the bush so we get DUP yeah well that run on that camp how do I be by this gauge yeah you need some sport easy to see have you got the UHF no you can't communicate you've got nothing to add it the kids know it but I've got a winch to pull you out and I'm Korean locked and they go dragon eyes Oh some sort of deal here mate yeah if I get stuck and I need to borrow your winch yeah I'll even give you a copy okay maybe we should get a bit of a game go and see how many times before yeah I probably won't be much but I'm look or I can we get into it you've got a couple of whoppers I'll take a while yep and yeah now we need a couple of lockers and doing a full suspension install in the driveway it's a pretty big task to take on single-handedly especially for a couple of muds like us fortunately we barely have to twist the arms of our mates down at pinnacle 4.4 to get them down to the afternoon to lend a hand these guys service all their vehicles will definitely help keep us on track first thing I'm doing here is a suspension so I'm taking the old gear out and I'm gonna replace that so shocks out first in the coils this is gonna make this vehicle ride so much better and also give us a little bit more clearance to fit the bigger tires great little mod and under a thousand boxes can really can't go wrong so obviously this hub has come off in a while I've just noticed a fair bit of corrosion on this outer hub nut which please you're gonna tell me that this hubs copped a bit of water ingress in its time so I've been feeling these bearings gonna be pretty interesting jock and Travis need to take off the brake assembly Seavey's and axles as well as the tail shaft to get the two dips out and the old Luxy is looking a little bit worse for wear at this stage [Music] with the front diff drained the center comes out now the lockers can be installed meanwhile we're soon got the old coils and shocks out it's a brand spanking new fulcrum one's going in their place now these are rigs with cheatboys and as you'd expect they'll need a lot of love that's what the guys at Spears box have set us down a care package with a ton of spares specifically for each vehicle it's a go goodies from spares boxer Mirage Express post EC before we took delivery of these vehicles we knew would have to do a fair bit of maintenance and also get some spare parts for me so we're taking them out in the bush they will need a bit of a service before they get out there and these things came Express pose nice and quick delivered to my shed and something tells me that these trucks are going to need all the help they can get the beauty of spares box is that you can search for the parts you need on their website by vehicle order then and there and have it delivered pretty convenient I reckon travis has soon got the front diff surgery underway while Jacque moves on to removing the rear diff Center see what I think the previous owner of this Hayek's used it as a beach rig there's a bit of fishing line tangled in in the rear springs and also every single bolt has got a bit of corrosion on it so proven pretty fun to take everything off so handy little tip pretty much on any full guide but particularly because this one's seen a bit of salt corrosion is if you are gonna drain the defile crack the fill plug first so you know you can definitely refill it once you drain the oils nothing worse than draining oil and realizing that this plugs seized and you can't fill it up again it's not too bad actually well jakka is still taking things off his rig we've got the new fulcrum suspension sliding in like a charm so that is service simple we literally change that front suspension maybe 45 minutes if you're lucky great little mod to do in your driveway as well you get a mater or around and just get into it two inch suspension lift your non big tires on it it makes the vehicle size more capable but also from a touring point of view you want to go out in the bush you know doing a lot of corrugations that sort of stuff it just makes a diesel so much more comfortable easy to drive even on the ride too I reckon just about to install the lockers into the diff centers what I love about these is they're super simple and they're really good if you're on a budget as well if you want to get a bit more traction area for Drive basically all they do is replace the spider gears inside your Center and essentially whenever there's a loss of traction when the wheel spins or lack of Drive they'll engage and then you get traction to each wheel evenly and because you don't need airlines or any electronic lines running to the center they're just a super simple quick and affordable way to get more traction for your full drive yeah the new suspension is a huge upgrade already for our Darrell but we're also going to pull out the radius arm because the fulcrum suspension kit actually comes with a couple of offset caster bushes which will make the vehicle ride a lot better there you go perfect so the radius arm out it's not the easiest thing to do on the shop floor now to take the bushes out of course you're gonna need a press I've got a basic 20 ton one in the back of the shed now once you line it up it's pretty easy to use and the bushes soon come out the super pro caster corrected bushes come with a handy alignment guide so if you get the right placement in the arm before you press them back in Jacko's still working on that death but at last has it out and ready to get the new Locker installed inside these full drive system lockers make a perfect DIY upgrade that you can do in your driveway and best of all that can be fitted without specialized tools I'm not gonna lie reinstalling the radius arms and the shed floor is definitely a challenge getting the alignment right takes a lot of maneuvering we haven't exactly got a ton of room pretty glad for the help of the pinnacle boys well this would have taken me all day the Hilux is rear diff is soon on the operating table and a new locker installed and at that point the pinnacle boys reckon if giving us enough help and it's rightly time to clock off the reads might still be in axle stands but two big jobs are nearly ticked off right Locker is in the Dipset all ready to go back in starting to make a little bit of progress and yeah that's all hey you going yours pretty good pretty good I look it's a lot of a job than I thought got the springs and shocks seemed really quick and then being a couple hours on those bushes and getting back a little bit particularly on the ground that can be a bit of a pain to get inside I'm not worried at all by considering you don't even don't know winch and you still got this it said yeah yeah I'm doing right a little bit to do a little bit to do but I've called in cavalry okay yeah yeah I've got it might come and help me and he's bringing a from Bartlett yeah Michael Hill yeah I found from past secondhand yeah guess how much you wanted for it Cartman Billy what Carnaby yep gotta be yeah I might have actually borrowed one of your carton to have a [ __ ] up like yes I'm gonna wait coming by with the front part and he's gonna help me out and we'll get her back together that's the case why y'all gonna bring up a colour mate someone I'm gonna make who is a GQ specialist even give him a hint that we're down in the shed working on GQ see 100 seconds he knows these things a lot better guard over it wouldn't be hard just like that the next shift clocks on up front is hilux genius Matt Kinsella from casella's customs and of course Jesse and Neeson guru who probably bought more gqueues than half the state of Queensland combined and would you check that out the boys have brought along a few gifts that's disgusting but Jesse brought me like the snorkel snorkel don't increase your horse that's a ggq one right yeah excellent Mike because we need that we when we open the bonnet turns out the intake is just got these big holes I'm missing a bit I saw this in it let's get the shed show you with the tools art and more importantly image introduce you to big dowel over here you gotta say this thing I'll show that took a pub yep with some fresh help on hand we crack on with the build and jock well he just continues to take things off his car interesting strategy mate the day is coming to an end but we're not stopping we've got heaps still to do to keep the build on track [Music] so it is officially beer o'clock right now and speaking of beer o'clock jobs having his tire and we'll what I don't know what this is off this might be a tractor maybe a trailer certainly it should not be on a full drive those radius arms ain't up quite a bit of the afternoon we've still got the rear suspension to put in but luckily for me Jesse knows his way around the other side of a GQ now Matt built Rocco's insane SAS Hilux with jock in his workshop so these guys make a pretty formidable team but they've got a lot of work ahead of them to make the deadline Friday so the rear centers back in just got to button it up and now put the rear axles back in tail shaft and then now we can start on the front um got a little bit of doing to catch up as Sean so got plenty of work with it meanwhile over at team Neeson things are also pretty serious that sort of girth Jesse that's what separates pretenders from the real deal that's not a length we're gonna impress what are you gonna impress the boys there's not additive that is looking good rear suspensions going really quick I don't I'll be taking more time because we are getting this job done so fast in fact I reckon only it's done so much faster than Jocko Jessie and I are gonna be and I will probably have to shoot our time something out of try and wait for jock and to get that vehicle ready or I can well I didn't put a put a little IDE unit wait okay all right six pack that way you finish first yep feeling pretty confident right now with the GQ coming together nicely and even though it's unlocked I reckon the suspension and the tires gonna work in an absolute treat here's my secret weapons I've got the Wrangler empty arse with the Kevlar sidewalls in 35 s is straight off [ __ ] and just gonna put them straight on now I'm gonna actually fit this with the tires they're just so you can see how they fit and if they clear just judging I'm touching this flare and I'm definitely touching this one so gonna have to get the grinder out I reckon and just make these things fit okay we've run into a bit of a small hitch it turns out what I can get the tires on the wheel nuts don't fit my rims and also they don't fit the wheel studs so I'm gonna need to run into town in the morning to get some new ones but for now I want to get these squeeze on [ __ ] so I can at least drive that is gonna be one of the most embarrassing days in my life pitch them split these on hold so here's their pins in its wheels and tires you can put this on you go I don't really like your ignore today you've got a job to do you got a job to do mate look at that size yeah embarrassing is that but I've gotta be honest with you it probably still that drives Jacko's or Lux so sure I've been saying he's been a fairway ahead but we're not far off putting the wheels back on this thing and getting him back on the ground so I reckon we're catching up be interesting to see I can the floor likes he's gonna be a bit of a beast now if there was ever a bloke and you hit a cut at JQ 435 it's Jesse he just seems to know exactly where to cut nip and tuck and soon as a space for the big tires this thing's gonna be an absolute animal 35 two inch left weapon may give you the garden some chocolate matter put a huge effort in to get the diffs back in so he take a quick break for dinner before we crack on with the build rigs in the shed likes to help it really doesn't get much better than this right I'm just gonna put a quick snorkel on and a little bit of a rush so measured once hopefully cut once cut twice three times ever has laughs and go I got work to do jerseys it look at that impressed at all my handiwork here it turns out GQ front quarter panels without snorkel holes about as rare as hen's teeth and I've just cut a hole in it oh well all three good cause Mike what we're trying to do is do the job properly here so when you've cut here's a good tip for anyone actually when you've cut the hole like this in your car anyhow really um if you're cutting holes in your car you need to know this you need to paint the inside here try and foil it down so you don't cut yourself as well but this is bare metal that will rust this is a show car we do not want to have any damage and any rust coming through so I'll buy myself a little paint booth so the kit ball it doesn't quite just like that I can that you only use a small pocket professional done it that it actually blends in yeah like it's always like airbrushing sort of blend in with the yeah all right so I'm ruining the paintwork Matt's prepping the bar for a coda Raptor in the morning back in the shed though we might have a little problem it's an awful install go away go away I can't wait look looking for the top yeah amazing but okay look this is excellent especially especially in the world are here so it's actually supposed to be the enemy at that far but from the top it looks fantastic in look look at this well imagine this was you Colby yeah you dressed that on top of your snorkel just what is it no don't worry about that don't even see the UFO because the whole thing is that all the bolts is it for one a useful yeah that's fine it looks good yeah Jesse's not staged but look so basically I'm correct a patrol go oh cool like it's gonna work we're gonna want to be who grow up and stop all that we're gonna stop sucking water easily so look there's go I can work on that thing and don't forget or don't shine [Music] so just running in the wiring loom for the spotlights we're going to put on the bar just so they're ready to go but cuz the engine bay is quite small I'm actually just removing your fair bit of stuff so I have a bit of better access you can try and cut corners and just try and wedge your hands in and stuff but ends up taking just as long it anyway so I just take the stuff out I need so it's nice and easy to get the wiring in in the cut an aluminium just with an angle grinder here you want to basically try and get a little bit of wax on it there's some proper stuff you can boy or just ride the patio and calling it or a ladies just get a little bit of wax on here and make it somewhat easier this might look a little bit severe but it's the only way to make sure those 35s clear the bark the guys have got the wiring almost in Oh to switch installed to control the spotlight which is all included in the terra loom kit it's been a long day on the tools as we turn through the many many jobs in our build list we've still got a long way to go to get these rigs ready for the tough tracks of the glasshouse all by tomorrow for now though even the dog seems to reckon it might be time to pack it in hey that's mine oh she smells and she likes sheds lots of hair so I thought but she could sit in here for a little bit you ripped wet as well aren't you Pike last day big die in the head big diner shared it's been a good day light we've got a fair bit done and your store on yeah dude just I can't believe they have a fit Percy Mike yeah nah not gonna happen I even put yours online oh good good good better go it means once it comes off axle stance you've already got wheels on thanks for helping us out like we really needed the help I suggested out you just got an extra job on your list this more might take those off get your car running I don't destroy remember where I was up to I think groaning this yeah there's lots of grinding going they still got a bit bit more grinding you do we're gonna get it started get got to get the shops as well get some I like it's a wheel nuts yeah I'm gonna get to do bolts you're gonna get some pot something actually take your snorkel up so it's not as if it looks that much awesome you know service of vehicles make sure it's running right guys a lot cool first task of the morning is to draw up a shopping list of the extra parts we now realize we need to complete the bills and then and that's put his hand up to run into town and get the supplies fashion on a moment and I'll get like a true seeker bring me when you have to get the first thing with Matt on the way was time to look at servicing the vehicles and getting the trip ready and the good news is spares box of really thought of everything and covered us with a heap of useful spares and most of this is for a patrol you need joins yeah well I'll tell you stop your hands Oh Joe me to look through and check this is a CV that looks like it's GQ pretty sure might hopefully solve what the reason running yeah you might poses Oh brake pad already okay no that's mine so hands off in this and tough all right I need it jocks plan is to rap to the entire bull bar and having cleaned it last night he now moves on to the final prep work before spraying there you go that's if you're under gram saving weight weight is important all right he has a fun job I get to install with GME radio into our Darryl over here it's a basic one but it's at a good price so it fits our budget perfectly for honest around a bucks we've got comms now probably going to give the boys maybe a handheld so I think I'm out of the shed because I would hate for them to miss some of the banners from either getting thrown around after where you do all the challenges like a hundred percent you're good just to chamber the boys and make sure they're keeping up so we'll get this installed to everything you need which is really cool so I've got a unit 5 watt unit plus malarial that's everything I need for communications Jesse is back at it on the grinder cutting out the space for the thirty fives I can't tell if Darryl is leaking here or it's just excited about the new mods as well installing the GME is pretty simple and soon I've got the coaxial cable running into the cab from the aerial this is probably the first time I've ever worked on a JQ especially on the inside and this one here 14 go boy aha sticks [Music] all right we have power hair goods that you've got 80 channels out of this posle chocolate look hello both are you out front jocks moving on to the Raptor application which is made really easy with these handy little aerosol cans good thing about Raptor is it's super forgiving I've given this a light scuff if I have more time I probably sounded a bit better and take a bit more time prepping it but don't have much time so I've just given it a once-over with 80 grit cleaned it up with degreaser but crap the super tough and super forgiving so I'm just going to do once over the can that should look pretty good bring to the final four hours of our 24 hour build and Jesse's decided to change over the brake pads on the GQ the old pads are ancient and practically welded on yep this car is not exactly been looked after what is that I'm actually using conduit a normal 12 volt here mainly to protect the wires yeah there's some fancy stuff going on why is it squishy dying even tacos like there's Old Men tosses and stuff there's a chewing gum under the seat I'm sorry you could have a slightly better job like what like you know you can handle the horses like that man what he wants you might be mouldy and grubby ass but me it seems to like it so I'm going to take that as a good sign taco has got a fun job ahead of him now refilling both gifts with Castrol using a small pop bottle that was lying around the shed that's a go key better jogo now very important part of the build is to get the GQ running right poor old barrels and coughs and splutters a heck of a lot and are we needed we need to give us a good grain make sure she's just the thoroughbred she deserves to be so I've got some spark plugs got a fuel filter on this go through and just trying to fill these things one at a time and if we can get it running good look at half a chance we're gonna say Jocko you've got some of the strongest right here in wrists I've ever seen a young bloke moment right refill time thank the old spark plugs in Daryl are pretty seized on and I'm quite worried about breaking the ceramics surrounding on the spark plugs as we try and remove them like now it'll be my fault yeah yeah that's right so Sean's real good on the tools but some professional mechanic just like these are professionals yeah coming in and do of 100 he's broken the end of it oh yeah I think that was you okay let's see these are in well you right with that I'll remember I'm gonna go undo good you go with the rest of the spark plugs coming out Matt's back with the second goodies for the rigs well one of the things that are running big tires on these thirty fives is they're gonna stick you out of these guys we have to get rid of the factory flares because they were seriously impeding on the tire we have to actually cut the guard a fair bit to amend Oh Jesse did a little bit of panel beading work looks great but we need to keep it Road legal as well so as long as we cover that tire and weird right to go now Jesse what have you got Mike get a garden edging this is this is run a budget this is a little jet it's gonna keep the rocks from flicking out it's going to keep this road legal illegal as we can be and we're just going to attach that in there to cover those tires all right you are the master panel beater here I reckon get some tech screws out and just send them home yep yep let's do that so that's not Shawn put a snorkel on the JQ which leads me to believe he's got a bit of mud bog in store I don't want to put a snorkel on because the guards really nice that I want to cut into the guard so we've decided to do the next best thing in Chuck's and if craters on and speaking of which I managed to find summer Sean's hose and one of his breathers that he planned to use for his car but I've taken it off and then I put it on this we go the last spark plugs going in now look to get this engine together get it running right I haven't tested it out yet the boys still haven't at the front bar all the winch on we've got about an hour and a little bit to go I reckon they've got no chance I'll try to get the confidence back now I was feeling like I was lagging behind a little bit and they're on the homestretch if we can get this running oi listen listen it should run right there are tools going everywhere as we head into the final stages of the build my division oh thanks Mike but we're about to discover a problem that could take us out of the game completely our candle aids are on wrong you know yeah Ronnie was running good tell me this now just do it again you haven't dropped like a 10 mil in all right I didn't drop something down there but not to say something couldn't jump down there I don't know I fall on the Kavi and then seems I was a lot of finger pointing at the mines like the bounds of metal combusts look I mean them under they said your wagons are taking it all apart have a proper look or I just rev it a bit harder need to figure this out real quick right oh well that sounds like a you problem while I'm trying to diagnose the savage knocking the JQ engine Madden job again to installing their rubber winch which slots perfectly into the bull bar got oil Jesse you know I start to troubleshoot by checking the oil first now there's not much oil on the dipstick but there definitely is oil in the sump so hopefully this is not the bottom end that's knocking with an hour to go this is not exactly the perfect time to discover a blind engine but we've put some new oil in and hope for the best [Music] but some doesn't feel too bad yeah it sounds like top-end when you're down the bottom pockets running fine throwing real nice this is not good guys this is not good we're pretty sure now at least the engine isn't blown so the next step is to backtrack through the work we've already done and make sure nothing's falling down when we've changed the spark plugs it was running real rough before but it didn't have a knock knock lever could tell anyways and they're not guys it's gotten worse and worse and worse and now it's at a point where something's gonna go bang if we don't try and get this sorted well I'm just saying the spark plugs out and one of the spark plugs I think it's being dropped because there's no gap right there so look at that one that's touching so I reckon Jacko's come in get me hit help me I'm gonna make a bit of a disclaimer you help me with one spot first one which wasn't this one but I also didn't drop it - you know this is like the easiest job but you'd trust your 10 year old kid because your handle the spark plugs currently not me though but what might not this might not it might not be it we've just turned it over a couple of times to see if any bits of metal coming up put a magnet down each one someone's are good so far but we're just going to make sure that they're all because one of these was definitely dropped and there was no gap so we're gonna make sure what the gaps are all correct put the spark plugs back in cross our fingers in our toes hopefully not I said the Loxy do pick up how much is this secondhand one of these engines probably not a lot still one a teammate's focal all right let's cross that bridge if we get to it there are they back you know sounds good with the new spark plugs back in we keep darrell over one more time [Music] [Applause] but not for me well that's the sweetest sound I've ever heard the knocking is sort of subsided a little bit a little bit and it's sounding good I don't know what the problem was um I'm gonna blame one of those spark plugs look the best thing about it we're still not make this deadline yeah that's what I'm excited about the fact you might be I don't we hook this place all right well we've got 20 minutes to go I reckon we get right into work yes we got a lot of work to do as far as that knock is still a mystery spark plugs shouldn't cause an issue like that it's more likely a timing issue but for now the engines running so we're going to focus on getting the vehicle back together so we need to of course at a tea house Norville hook it all up you know this is a standard decent part that comes off the airbox this is PVC Park Plumbing Supplies through a fair one that sort of fits sort of fits so if we silly can that improperly look at that that's what we're talking about custom custom air more custom snorkel we're talking that's like 90 mil so feather that air flow is going to have probably make more power so the buyers want an organ it's come up an absolute treat you saw how easy it was to apply the Raptor coating and it reckon it looks really good probably hides a bit of the rust as well I still got to wire up the winch the tower alone lights come with a wiring loom which I've already run in so we just need to plug it in get it all tightened up and should be good to go next up we check on the state of Darrell's bearings just to be on the safe side though we're gonna repack with some fresh grease I've had a chance to open this up yet we're gonna put the fridge in there luckily the fridge don't even beat doesn't it to be installed Oh smells this ah guys picked a winner here what I preach is in you're probably wondering how we're gonna power the fridge haven't got to do a battery system in but don't worry that's why I let the fridge to last because I've got this little lithium packed it's an accessory for that my Kuhlman just like that I've got power alright it's been a big 24 hours we're into the final 15 minutes boys 15 minutes to go we don't even have toys on the vehicle yet you gotta see this not all right 15 minutes 15 minutes boys fire I don't know what to do next overwhelming toys cause I think it's and toys on right so Biggles pretty much good to go we just got to bleed the brake lines and we've got vehicles are pretty hard to break into our aim here is to try and break off the steering lock but she just doesn't want to budge what are you let us down the next problem of course will be how do we start the vehicle but Jessie and Matt soon have got a plan in place well good news is we've got serum back the vehicle stairs which is fantastic we broke the steering lock we go on a straight through that the next little little challenge little hurdle of God is to are gonna be able to start this vehicle so I'm gonna try and wire in a switch off at 3 last week so we've got accessories on and then pulls horsepower that's what after so I'm just gonna figure that out a lot of trying find a switch in the shed somewhere then you gotta figure out which was which maybe good luck good luck well that's some of that before we wire in a switch Matt tries out a makeshift key fingers crossed Oh Govinda fall a little bit of throttle down runs but only just got quite a bit of work ahead to try and reach up ignition system Oh Mike it's been a few hours now trying to get that ignition sorted looks like we're there though we just ran and got another switch from Jessie's place yep but pretty neither we've got two switches one for accessories and one to actually start the vehicle yep which is good you can see smoke color like that solder hopefully hopefully and look it's getting late in the day on don't thing let me hit the tracks today no that's okay it just means we can get up early tomorrow and yeah we'll get up early tomorrow various facts will get rolled out again cat from the shed and tomorrow morning first thing we'll hit it but uh gives the movie more toiler work in these vehicles I think it was a bit of an ambitious task 24 hours to get these vehicles that said that we got pretty close I mean like you're both on the wheels ready to go it's just this one little issue one little issue it was all going well up until about an hour to go and then it all fell apart you know that's okay look that's the Tara guys when you want to find cars let's sleep on it tomorrow hit tracks sounds good [Music] day three Daryl made it outside the shed but the bullets up again more engine gremlins we haven't got the vehicle very far Laurel dolls only mated about 12 meters out of the shed and that's where it's don't forgot the car be off this morning and we think it's a fuel related issue or maybe even the dizzy it's going to crack so anyway Jesse B and Jesse's gone to a mate's place this morning well it was it work I open up his GQ and actually took a bunch of parts out of there so here he comes now got a carbine you've got excellent excellent the boys have got the copy off they actually work on that now on the bench and now I'm just pulling it apart there to clean the Jets here and stuff all right we start just throwing some parts of this and yeah if we can get this thing running right Mike I'll Daryl well it's gonna at least get him a driveway that's a good start and then we can go to the tracks right now so part of the build will be all there to come together and sort of formulate a plan I've got to be honest here I haven't worked in an old Cardy vehicle for probably about 15 years now if we want to get Darryl out on the tracks we've got a no doubt put our heads together and come up with a bit of a miracle after a bit of troubleshooting we reckon the main problem is the engine timing which would explain the knock yesterday so we swap out the dizzy and clean up the car B all right car B has been taken off possibly three times clean stripped we've got most of the parts back into it new dizzy new leads coils possibly just took it off and back on again so that's gonna help let's give it a crack see if we can start er up being as crossed satellite Oh get her Reb dental noise all right tell it off before it stops all right that is a big success that's taken a look move another time on a little bit this cow forty hours like right here box back on get the snorkel or link bit more secret flex and we and they'll be good to go actually scars mate I've got more money buddy feels like we're not leaving my driveway until I do this model it's not going to take long you know a couple tools but give me three minutes not abused hit the tracks a job finishes build first so I'm gonna let him take first crack what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take his horn off and then I'm going to connect it to a trailer plug and bridge the wires between the brake light and ground and bring them through the horn so essentially every time he steps on the brake the horn will go off the best part is you can remove this so he won't know what's going on unless he sees there's no horn in his car that'll give it away but I can hide it and put it back as I need to so hopefully it'll annoy you but it should be pretty funny if it [Music] all right my turn to do a little modification to Jacko's Hilux now when a keeps on real simple and I've got two little wads in fact this one's a real simple one just a nail plate it's just gonna warn other motorists actually that these guys are still learning the other thing of course you'll notice that old Darrell full of stallions on the side and all the rest of it this is like a watered down version of big Darrell here so I've got Jocko some stickers so he doesn't feel left yeah there these are little ponies they're not quite the stallion what Darrell but you get where I'm going with this I'm gonna be up 400 Little Pony stickers here so we'll just we'll just start going around the vehicle just really start to spruce it up I just want Jocko to make sure he feels like he's included look at that beautiful stickers no that's a pretty boss this one he's gonna really like this who in fact I think it'll be one of his childhood bedroom automatic ride ponies so it doesn't stop there like well I'm so happy that you're happy yeah that's nice honey I'm sorry start to be I don't even know what you've done to my might but I think it's only fair that we take these guys for a proper look around these vehicles because there's so much to take in so bear with us and Ralph we'll go through these in detail would you get a lighter Daryl it's got the V UHF up front of course I'm running the 35 inch tires off suti complete with a 2-inch fulcrum suspension of course a little bit of Bunnings garden edging to keep the whole thing legal I'll borrow the max track stops 30 as well since we don't have a winch and how can you forget our push-button start because we've broke the ignition system and I've also been out of fit a 44 litre and what I call would fridge into the back of Daryl and this is gonna be the perfect little audition when we soon get to a campsite and with the very little money I had leftover I invested that into a can crusher for the back door of Daryl now there's no doubt about at the yellowed 106 Hilux really is a legendary vehicle in fact it is an icon of the forward drive world so with a couple of lockers a bull bar a set of spotlights and a winch that vehicle is going to go everywhere now I reckon if Jocko would have had the budget to learn to put a slightly bigger sized tires and maybe a two-inch lifting that thing would be completely unstoppable you got to admit though even though that bar was picked up for the price of a case of beer with a new Raptor coat it looks almost brand new [Music] well my every couple of that huge couple of those oh I didn't think these because go coming together but have a look at them now or we should be very happy how they're coming out in
