[Music] [Music] hey guys redneck mini-14 here coming at you and we're gonna switch mirrors a little bit and we're gonna talk about something other than the corona virus somewhat today I'm going to talk about my top five guns that are inexpensive and would make good choices for a scenario that we are currently in whether you're talking about this specific scenario that we're in now or a future scenario where you may need to buy a gun in the future so a lot of people get in their first time you know their first gun a lot of people who you know maybe you don't know what's a good gun to buy and you know what's good for what application so this is kind of gonna kind of be a video for those people so we're gonna talk about my top five inexpensive guns for a pandemic an apocalypse end of the world maybe no this isn't the end of the world trust me but you know top five inexpensive guns that would make good first-time gun purchases for people looking at getting a gun for those scenarios so we're gonna talk about five guns that I personally own and think are good choices and then we're gonna have one wild card because what's a five guns video without a wild card am i right so let's get to it all right guys in it number one we're gonna talk about a good twenty-two I'm very fond of the Marlin model sixty specifically because it is a very inexpensive rifle to come across there have been somewhere between eleven and twelve million of these things made between 1960 and now so that's what a good sixty years worth of production so there's lots of them out there and you can find a new for less than 200 you can find them used for a hundred or even less depending on where where you get them and how old they are and what condition they're in but generally speaking a Marlin model 60 or a Glenfield old model 60 is a good choice for a 22 rifle 1022 is also good for anybody who would like something a little more modular so the Ruger 10/22 is another good option but it's a little more expensive they're not as plentiful the reason these are so plentiful is because they were made longer they were made there were store-brand versions of these made that were sold in all kinds of hardware stores and other kinds of stores big box stores back in the day so there's lots of these out there 22 long-rifle only very inexpensive to shoot and you can get a lot of ammunition like you can keep the ammunition is really tiny so you can carry a lot of ammunition if you need to fort are actually 15 plus 1 capacity on newer models 18 plus 1 capacity on a lot of the older models they also have a longer barrel the older models do but you know generally speaking you can find a good used one for like a hundred bucks sometimes you can find them for like 75 80 dollars which is a very good very good deal for a 22 rifle this particular one was like a hundred and forty so number one a good 22 rifle I recommend the Marlin model 60 Marlin 795 or the Ruger 10/22 if you want something a little more modular so on number two and in at number two we have a good 12-gauge shotgun now this particular one is a Mossberg maverick 88 so it's basically a Mossberg 500 another good inexpensive option is a H&R Pardoner pump which is basically a Remington 870 but again the Mossberg 500 and the Remington 870 are also good choices they're just going to be more expensive but you know the Maverick 88 or the H&R partner it's basically the same thing as those other two guns so this particular maverick 88 is my personal home defense gun it's what I have case of break-in so you have a 20 inch barrel 7+1 capacity in the tube I have a sling that I put on it and I have a Velcro sidesaddle which you can get those for like I don't know $17 this particular one is made by brown coat tactical and you know that's pretty much it oh and I have this high vis front sight fiber optic but very good maverick 88 whether it's the 7+1 model or the 5+1 model or even if you get a hunting model with like a 20 28 inch barrel and you can like chop the barrel off and it would make a good home defense gun but you're looking at about 200 - 200 to 250 brand new depending on where you get it and if you get it used you might be able to find for like 150 maybe even less depending on the condition depending on where you get it from now of course right now you're looking at some price gouging and some supply and demand issues but still I think you can still find them for a pretty good price same with V Marlin model 60 and you just have to know where to look and how to how to bargain with people so number two is the Mossberg maverick 88 that's my particular shotgun that I have for home defense on to number three and in at number three we have a good nine-millimeter pistol typically I'm gonna consider I'm gonna recommend a used nine-millimeter pistol but of course there are tons of new designs out there that are fairly inexpensive as well Taurus makes a few and there's a few other companies where you can get a good inexpensive 9-millimeter pistol but I personally am very fond of the Ruger P series they do not make these anymore this is a P 89 there's also a p85 a P 93 which is a little bit more rare a p90 4 and then a P 95 I personally have 6 9-millimeter p-series pistols they're typically 15 plus one you can get seventeen plus one magazines if you if you get some mech car magazines met cars an aftermarket magazine company that actually makes magazines for a lot of pistol manufacturers out there so if you can find you know a good p-series pistol and get some nice mech car magazines there they're also cheaper than your your standard Ruger magazines and you can get more capacity in them so the Ruger 9-millimeter p-series pistols again there are several models out there they are a double-action the single action in that when you pull the trigger you the hammer will come back for the first shot and then and subsequent shots the hammer stays back and there is a safety decocker on this particular model so if you have the hammer back and you want to say put it on safety it'll decock the pistol as well this is a what a lot of older design older pistol designs were the Smith & Wesson 59 series or fifty nine hundred series those are also good options but typically I found a lot more better deals with the Ruger P series over the Smith & Wesson fifty-nine series but they're both good options they're both very similar to each other I have a video out there comparing the two so the 59 series versus the P series if you want to watch that and as far as price goes you can again these are used so prices can be all over the place but typically for like a P 89 or a P 95 which are the two most common that you'll come across you can find them for 300 or less I think I paid like 250 something for this one I've paid anywhere between like 250 to like 350 I don't think I've really paid more than 350 for a p-series pistol and that that's 9-millimeter 40 or 45 but I'm recommending the nine-millimeter there are 40s and 45s there are more 9 millimeters out there and there are more 9-millimeter magazine options plus the capacity and the cost of ammunition the abundance of ammunition for 9-millimeter just Trump's either of those two calibers in my opinion so it's a 9-millimeter all the way whether it's a Ruger p-series a Ruger SRC Rees Smith & Wesson 59 Series a Taurus an M&P a police trade-in Glock you can get those for like I don't know maybe 300 bucks depending on where you get them from so there are a lot of different options this is my particular choice in my arsenal on a number four all right guys in at number four I have a Glenfield model 30 this particular one is a model 30 a now the the Glenfield model 30 is basically a Marlin 336 which is a 3030 Winchester rifle so it's basically a Marlin 336 and hits you it's 3030 Winchester you have a 20-inch barrel and a six round capacity tubular magazine with a side loading gate now the reason I'm recommending a Glenfield over a Marlin is typically you can find them for a little bit cheaper than a Marlin but an old used Marlin will also do the job so I bought this one for $300 my new Marlin I got on sale back in 2012 for three hundred and fifty dollars so new Marlins are going to be a little more expensive but if you get used you can get them for like this one you can get I found for three hundred dollars on gun broker $300 is a pretty good deal you can get them for like 350 I'd say anything 350 and under would be a good price for a Marlin or a Glenfield 30-30 rifle and it's you know it's lever-action so you just work it like that if you're if you're into westerns you should be very familiar with that I have several videos out there on either this gun or any of my other moral and lever actions they're all basically the same gun just a little bit different so if you want to know a little more about marlin lever actions I have videos out there there are other videos out there check them out but anyway for my number four choice I go with a Marlin or a Glenfield 30-30 rifle so onto number five and then at number five we have an ar-15 build now I don't mean like a build where you literally put the whole gun together I mean a build as in you have a lower and an upper and maybe a rear sight and of course magazines so you can basically build this whole gun like this in four parts I did it a little bit differently so mine was you know a little bit more complex and a little more expensive but this setup here you can probably get for five hundred or less now again price gouging supply and demand right now I get it but like in the future you can probably get it for five hundred or less and you know depending on where you get it from like you go Palmetto State Armory you might still be able to get it for around that price it just kind of depends on where the prices are right now you know everything's changing every day but typically you can get like a complete lower for like 150 or so you can get a complete upper for like 250 maybe $300 this rear sight you can get for like 20 bucks this is a carry handle sight and there are different sites as well I kind of like the carry handle so I go with that you can get that for like you know 20 25 bucks and then for magazines you know you can depending on where you get them from you can get them for like maybe $10 a magazine these are metal magazines made their aluminum GI magazines there are tons of different magazines out there I have quite a few done some videos on a few of them there's hex mags there's Magpul pmags there's troy industries battle mags or all kinds of different magazines out there but an ar-15 is a very good and reliable choice for a defensive rifle and even a hunting rifle I do have a hunting configuration ar-15 in a different caliber I recommend 223 556 specifically the an upper chambered in 556 because you can shoot both 223 and 5 5 6 if you get a 223 only barrel 223 Remington that is you can only shoot 223 in it anything that can shoot those two different rounds is what I recommend for an ar-15 and there are tons of parts out there tons of mags out there ton there's tons of ammunition out there there's just all kinds of different components and stuff and there are all kinds of different rifles out there ready to go whether you're talking about savage Ruger Springfield Anderson manufacturing palmetto state armory has complete rifles as well there are tons of different options for the the budget-minded as far as complete rifles go Delton I think there's one called Adams arms there's all cons I build my err 15s and that's kind of what I recommend you do as well it's very easy you just got two pins here push them out take it take the gun into pieces put it back together push the two pins in very simple you know your sights just on a Picatinny rail you got these little knobs and they you loosen them up put them on there and and tighten it up very very simple rifle to put together maintain etc etc so air 15 is my number five choice alright guys my wildcard is basically any military surplus rifle that has been sport arised because you can get them for quite a bit less money than a traditional military surplus rifle that has not been tinkered with so this is a British Enfield particularly this is a jungle carbine a British Enfield number five mark one so it's a bolt-action rifle it was used in World War two and a few other conflicts as well but it's a bolt-action rifle has a ten round magazine and this particular one I picked up four hundred dollars now the caveat on this is the fact that this particular rifle is chambered in 303 British not easy to come by but in a panic buying situation 303 British is not sought-after so that's another thing to think about the gun shop that I go to they usually have 303 British in stock because it's a fairly common hunting round at least around these parts so you can still get 303 British at that gun shop because nobody's buying it so if I wanted to I could go get like ten boxes of 303 British right now I don't need to because I use other guns but this is an option now you probably won't find ideal quite this good quite as good as I got but you can probably get either a Lee Enfield like this or Springfield 1903 or a an Enfield 1917 or a Mauser or something that's been sport arised and you know maybe a little bit beat up like this that you you know you can get them for like 300 bucks that's a good deal now some of those are going to be chambered in 30.6 which is a very common hunting round so that's probably one I would look for either a 1903 a Springfield 1903 or a an Enfield 1917 either one of those sport arised chambered in 30.6 would make a great option again this particular one is the lee-enfield jungle carbine in 303 British and then there's some mousers out there that are chambered in seven millimeter and eight millimeter Mauser those are also good options as well and again those count all these calibers no one's really stockpiling these calibers right now so if you find one and you have a gun shop nearby that actually stocks that ammunition you chances are you can probably get that ammunition it's not going to be as cheap as two twenty three five five six but it's a very they're you know they're all very powerful rounds very good for defense very good for hunting deer and other big game so keep that in mind so the wild card is a sport arised military surplus rifle I also forgot to mention that the the Mosin Nagant also makes a good option as well and those are again very very widespread and they're there's tons of them out there so you can typically find them for a pretty good price and ammunition on that is a little bit better than say 303 British or 30.6 anyway that is my top five plus one wild card inexpensive guns to get for a and apocalypse or a pandemic or shtf which stands for [ __ ] hits the fan if you couldn't figure that out my top 5 picks subscribe to my channel like me on Facebook I'm redneck mini-14 and until next time be safe
