I can't tell you how many times I've gone to my parents house, and they are moments from giving some guy in india their credit card number. The older they get the more susceptible they seem to be, I feel like I want to take them away.

"I've sent all the details to the Calcutta police."

Yeah, they do not give a fuck if Indian people are scamming Britons or anyone else, believe me. The police are either corrupt or apathetic, and will not do a damn thing.

What do you mean their website features a man with a distinctly womans name?

It clearly says A MAN DA

I hate to say it, but it's probably just not a good idea to trust anyone with an Indian accent when dealing with money over the phone/internet.

In the video they said that they had been on the phone with the scammers for 5 hours. Why would you be on the phone with anyone for 5 hours, and why would you give anyone remote access to your computer/phone.

Anytime someone on the phone says 'suspicious activity ', hang up

Should show their faces. This is the worst kind of scum on Earth, preying on the old and feeble, abusing their trust.

If there's any people on this Earth that deserve the death penalty, it's these kind of people.

of the many scams on the internet this one has to be one of the worst anyone could encounter some scammers are content to get away with a few hundred dollars but these scammers will want to take as much money out of your bank account as possible this is how their scam works this man works for a company called webs and it solutions and according to their website they've got a couple of different addresses in kolkata in india and it's the second address in sector 5 where they run most of their scams from indeed although they describe themselves as a website development company their own website is a total mess they can't spell portfolio their leadership team includes a man with a distinctly woman's name on their blog still has the old boilerplate template text it's quite obvious that website design isn't their main business what they really do is scam and i know this because they tried to scam me and you'll probably already be aware that i'm able to use the scammers connection to my computer in reverse i'm able to see what's going on on their pcs and not only can i see and hear them i can also view all of the files on their various computers and among those files is a record of every person they've scanned and the notes at the side of the spreadsheet show how some people are suspicious some have no money and others will fall for the scam the files also show them laundering money through a network of companies in india and other countries so how exactly does their scam work well it starts off as usual with a robocall pretending to be amazon or internet service providers like sky or virgin media hello this is virgin media we have detected some suspicious activity on your broadband line and we will disconnect your service within 24 hours to resolve this matter please press one to speak to our agent and if you did press one you'd be speaking to someone who works in websant technologies they need approval from their boss who's called maroof and once it's given they can start their scam creating a bank account for their victim seems like an odd thing to do except that the scammers will have full access to this bank account we will also going to send the money in your account all right okay we will send the money in your account which will be a tracking fund okay and with the help of that money only we will find those hackers whoever have made those illegal transactions do you understand sir what i'm trying to tell you it's an elaborate way to convince the victim he's a police officer trying to catch a thief in the bank i see that i will cannot tell you because that's in not in my hand that will be sent by these police in harlow okay because that's your local police all right so this is the reason do you understand what i'm saying the victim here is convinced that he's speaking to the police or the national crime agency that's the uk's equivalent of the fbi but the victims concerned about the bank hackers can they take his money no see nobody cannot take any money because we are securing your account already okay that's why we will send the money so we can use our money to find them but through your account because your name is involved right so with the help of only you we can find those hackers so that they don't get aware if we go and directly find them and directly send the money into their account so what will happen they will get alert they will come to know from where they got the money and they will run away and while uh with wiping out everything from your account do you understand what i'm saying but what makes the victims cooperate is that they don't think they're risking any of their own money the scammers make it look as if they put money in see it's not risky at all because you're not going to and we are not going to use your money to find those hackers or to do anything because we're gonna use our money all right you can just do one thing right now just go into your lloyds account and the reason the victim will see money in their account is because the scammer will edit their bank page when they're logged in they're not really adding money but it will appear to the victim like they have but they will also use victims bank accounts to receive money from other scams and use them to launder their money sometimes they'll even get their victims to put money in cash into a shoebox and send it to one of their accomplices and it's to catch the people who receive that money is where i've managed to team up with mark ruber mark is the inventor of the glitter bomb just the kind of package that i'd rather see these people receive than a victim's cash but i'm not going to cover the glitter bomb in this video because we're still following where this money is leading to it's taking much longer than we originally thought there's a camera built into this so if you enjoy seeing package thieves getting a little taste of what they really deserve please check out mark's channel i've left a link in the description and a little button in the top corner if you feel like watching this one further but in the meantime let's check back with our friends in kolkata the victims sometimes get confused who they're talking to the initial call seems to come from virgin media and somehow it gets transferred to the police see right now you're not speaking with virgin media anymore sir i have told you that earlier right now you are speaking with the national crime agency officer myself is mike paris and i'm the investigation officer i found a few files on the scammers computer which they undoubtedly used to convince their victims that they really are the nca there was a fake id something downloaded from the real nca website and a photo of cash which no doubt they will say is the result of the hacker in their bank it's not only about the words mr dao said we have been on this phone call since nearly about from five hours all right and we are trying to helping you out not to do anything wrong with you because when you started speaking with the virgin media people they have explained you about the situations about the problems and all and right now when they found something suspicious they have transferred the call to our department and the scammers have to persuade their victims not to talk to their banks if they did they would realize the whole thing is a scam see you can definitely speak to the lloyds but if you speak to the lloyds right now and tell them everything whatever happened so what will happen the hackers will get aware they might take your money because you are so lucky they did not took your money they just use your account for money laundering they use your account for illegal payments and all there's a lot of irony when they talk about money laundering because it's money laundering which is exactly what they do on their victims computers they will black out the screen and use the victim's own identity to create cryptocurrency accounts they will also install remote access software on their victims smartphones this will allow them to confirm bank transactions and is the reason why these scammers are some of the most dangerous on the internet so when i saw them try to take people's identity information i would always step in if i knew the person's phone number yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah go a little bit closer here they're trying to create a bank account using the victim's passport but all of these scams required the victims to give a lot of personal details that allowed me to contact both the victims and their banks to make sure that no money was lost and sometimes it's very difficult to reach out to the victims of these scams i quite often pretend to be from monzo bank where they're creating the accounts and that usually is a bit more persuasive than somebody ringing up out of the blue i had been sending text messages to this particular woman to warn her that she was being scammed but she ended up repeating all of these scam warning messages straight back to the scammers yes hello can you hear me i can but it's a dreadful it's a dreadful night and and dave from monzo has tried to call me about four times i've tried to call him back but not getting um i can't get in touch with him so okay if monzo will call you right now okay just tell them just wait yeah just tell them that you are doing by your own they were very keen to get the phone number of the person trying to warn this victim no no wait wait wait uh let me let me take the number hold on let me take the number who's calling you hold on keep the phone down keep the phone down in the table do not hang up the mobile phone or the landline i know somebody is trying to of course i was dave from monzo but the scammers wanted to keep both lines occupied so that she wasn't warned i know somebody is calling it's not from monzo you know somebody is trying some i think somebody know what exactly we are doing this is what the reason they are calling you this was not from monzo yeah i'm there with you do not put the phone down please c c c c what but the mobile reception was so bad eventually the scammer's connection dropped out and i was able to call her hello hello annette um dave i've got emilia on the other line i've been on the phone for five hours but even my mobile call dropped out before i had the chance to work why are you saying all these things whom you are speaking to whom you are speaking it was zay from monzo it was not from monzo for god's sake they are the hackers they are the and so began a game of captain mouse i was determined to tip her off and the scammers were prepared to stop me calling hold on look on the computer screen yes answer this and do nothing [Music] m [Music] hello annette you are being scammed okay and this is not some random hacker this is somebody trying to warn you not to move money banks will always say never move money because you're going to be scammed okay if you're playing this to someone else with indian accents they are the people who are listening to this phone call and they are trying to steal your money okay i know you're playing this to other people and having played my phone call to the scammers she hung up on me annette can you why are you saying anything about us so peter now tells off the victim for speaking to anyone else he heard it what i said you asked him who they are they are not from monzo and the victim is completely confused no how could he believe that they are from monza because monzo never calls you i told you do not say anything about us i heard i heard them i am telling you that somebody came to know that you have made a monzo account do not say anything about us why can't you understand this all this while i was sending text messages to annette together to research the scam i wasn't instructing her to do anything just the research okay okay don't don't panic i'm trying to find these people see annette okay and listen listen what i'm trying to say see you have been trapped by those peoples now these peoples can't able to contact you this is what the reason these peoples are trying a different different method in order to speak to you and take the money out because i have put a blockage and these peoples can't but i had achieved what i wanted annette was now suspicious that the people on the phone weren't who they said they were but because she was becoming less compliant they hid her desktop icons in an attempt to force her to comply with them you're not cooperating with me you are just telling me that so what makes you suspicious under instruction from the scammers around her she blocks the input from the mouse and keyboard and also blackens the victim's screen yes but because the victim has announced my phone number to the scammers they're very interested in who's calling her so they pretend to be the victim hello no you're an indian scammer but they eventually gave up on the net she was very wary about who they were now and instead they were using her credit card to make a purchase on an indian website i did eventually convince annette that she was being scammed and she didn't lose any money but if i had any doubt which group were responsible i just needed to wait until the boss my roof logged into his online bank account he maintained a list of employees there's around 40 of them in his company and even worked out their wages and bonuses for the scams they committed i've sent all the details of this scam together with marouf's identity details to the kolkata police in the hope that they'll do something but if my experiences have need to go by i'm sure i'll just be ignored in the meantime marouf and his company webzant will continue to scam people in the uk and elsewhere until this sort of scam is clamped down on let's hope this video makes his life a little bit less comfortable if you enjoy my work you can support me on patreon there's a link here and in the description and i'm also on twitter at jim browning 11 once again thanks for watching you
