After watching lot of Jim Browning and Kitboga. I'm glad my parents don't understand english.
Oh man, it would be great if scam busters started putting out rewards for turning in scam bosses. You have the front line troops at the call centers who obviously don't care where they get their money so if just one of them can get turned, the authorities can take them down. If nothing else, having publicized bounty programs would make scam bosses more paranoid about whom they hire and slow them down some.
He pretty much saved this guy's savings. It's sick how they prey on the elderly who are easily confused with those things. Even when my grandma was still alive, I had to remind her to never ever sign anything if a solliciter came at her door no matter how good the deal looked like. Some people just have no ethics at all.
Time to have a talk with my parents again.
It baffles me that the guy getting scammed didn't believe that he was getting scammed at first, but at the same time he says that the guy will ruin him financially if he doesn't comply.
What a legend! Good man Jim 👍
How do the "converter" makes money off the giftcard ? Aren't they geolocked ?
Jim's a good man.
So now this is public, is "Ben" now in danger of being harmed? His name may be obfuscated but the people in the room are going to know who it was who screwed them...
I don't want to come off as racists. But normally when someone calls my phone about some weird shit and they have a heavy Indian accent, the thought of it being a scam instantly pops into my head.
