hi robert so we just checked out that awesome old sharecropper house cool piece of history outside the road you said you had something else to show me and we looked at the what's left of the original house right there with nothing but the corner pillar and the steps with the house in that time period there was always a cemetery that's right right there this is a beautiful little cemetery right here it's up on this little hill right here yeah in an old pecan grove it's turned into a pine grove it looks like there's some large monuments too today they sure are that fell off the top of this monument this here it probably this is the other part of it right yep and here's the description on this side oh wait maybe not look that was a that was an obvious oh yes oh no i take that back that obelisk goes over there yeah all right let's take a look at the oh wow sacred to the memory of susan f long consort of henry long born july 1 1803 died october 9th 1857. her children arise up and call her blessed and her husband also and he praiseth her when look at that inscription or that carving work i should say on there and you know what now that we have the cemetery in that date remember the little cabin that we thought was a sharecroppers or a planter's cabin yeah we might want to change that yeah look at the year that she died so it could have been pre 18 whatever and i'm looking for a maker's mark or a stone making mark somewhere where would it be at robert if it was one on here usually at the bottom of the stone the bottom corner is where makers marks usually work and so let's look at this broken obelisk here there's the top of it there's the base a little inscription right here too at the base right there look put the light on that one sacred yeah okay to the memory of emma f f long daughter of h and sf long born may 23 1841 died march 26 18 1844 so she was just about three the daughter the daughter yep susan the daughter of susan now what's interesting is so many children's graves that we see are just like field stones are very very small monuments but hers is very nice so i mean that's one way of telling that these people were well off you know from these monuments right so we've got a bunch more scattered out here now that looks like part of an old wall or something placed here maybe do you think that was placed here relatively recently or i can't say i just i noticed the drill marks in it but but you notice there's others down there so yeah it could have been a wall at one time so here's another one right here that's missing the obelisk so where would it have gone you know what i think i can't make that out right i didn't bring my brush with me yeah is that inscription there i can't tell or is it just just the waiver oh it's just the moss okay the way the moss has eaten into it yeah just the model obelisk has gone from here it would have been right here probably yep that's a that's a really heavy piece of stone those are not light you remember that one we picked up yeah so it wouldn't have been easy for someone to steal it and huff it out of here now there's part of an obelisk there sure enough are these a wall or the sides of a fault script false wouldn't have had one two three still a wall yeah neatly they would a false wouldn't have fallen over like this it's a wall you're right so let's see so this obelisk came from there and there's that's the top of it see that one's broken too yeah so that was missing we've got one here yep yeah that one came from up there odds are the way it's laying right down there go check it for an inscription i might get you to run this one all right colonel james okay i can't make that quite out let's run it from this side yeah where we are can't work w-e-r-t-e-r hmm it's difficult there colonel james water fannin fannin yeah that's it colonel james warter fannin born february 9th 1785 died february 11th 1837. that is in seven 1837 very old so we're in troop county yep whoops i want supposed to tell you where this is at anyway we're in troop county which was probably started about the same time muskogee county was 18 28 18 26 7 yeah no other inscriptions on here unless something is on this one look at this here real quick yep inside let me see if i can walk now you know robert the viewers get onto you for doing all that heavy lifting i can do it he can't do nothing all you can do is sell me a car and then take it back from me when you change your mind on there nothing on there i think that's just the broken piece of this one and i don't think we'll be able to really roll that but i don't see any kind of inscription on any of these sides and i do believe it fell from up there hey there's something you just i just saw something right there didn't it but it's gosh it's hard to make out yeah it is it's somebody else let me see that anna they definitely make out anna person something phantom for his wife born july 2nd 1798 maybe let me run this okay yeah go ahead oh 1797. died and get get this watch out magic gloves on there [Music] september september 17th 18 48 48 48. go back to the top i want to make sure you get that name right right here yeah and in peterson look it's in um parentheses right there must be a maiden name that's right that's what it is fletcher i have never seen in parentheses i've never i've never seen that no never have so i think that's that should be fletcher and then fannin if that's their correct name there interesting yeah is there anything on this side that we've missed no yes there is there is sure enough so you can't even see it but it's in there i see something you know some people gave us some suggestions one time on how to get these stones clean and you know we we don't normally do that oh look you can make it out now yep redeemed by grace look at the work in the stone yeah it was carved out yeah let's see the chisel marks redeemed by grace wow we missed something if we missed something on this look down in the corners of this one for a maker's mark we got something here we haven't had this one side haven't nope come back over there [Applause] it's our parents oh yeah that's it wow who's parents good question where are they at their parents what's her middle name fannin susan fannin long probably fannin yeah bannon children parents could be that's it where's the husband that's a good question too i was assuming that he was right there and his um away from the wife yeah so this is because their pre-civil war their pre-civil war probably pre-civil war let's look out here yeah we've got more and then look robert we've got unmarked graves right there yeah yeah so what year do we have over there uh that was 1837 1848 and 1850s come over and look at this one all right i didn't even see these over here yeah hey i wonder where this was that originally sitting up there that's weird that's like that looks like the top of a fault strip this one right here this one's all clean see if i can get a flashlight maybe you can make it out can you make it out yeah james ridley son of op and sab fears born january 13 1848 died july 11 18 49. here's the foot stone with this one right yep that's a foot stone this stone here doesn't belong there because yeah it doesn't it belonged over there somewhere it's been moved i wonder if huh that's interesting could that have been the side of an old fault oh and this one right yeah and then it fell open could be those are some thick walls if it is maybe something here too you know there is that's all just barely upside down camera on this side see if we can make it out you upside down aren't you no i'm right side up well i'm upside down then uh in memory of james it's not showing up that way for me either henry maybe fears i can't make that out buddy summon the first born son of man that's hard to read yeah sab says something sab fears who was born on the 30th of august 1841 and departed his life the 15th of september 18. hold on a second now 40 okay 42 18 42 look like 12 for a minute he was 42 aged one years one month and 16 days this was a false crypt yep and that sat on there yeah an early one now early style this has been destroyed yep because it would have been turned this way since the headstones this way or that headstone been flipped around yeah someone ran over with a log skidder or something could have now this is interesting here i'm guessing that this is the original cast iron fence but it's been painted not the original this is not i don't think so i could be wrong it looks like it's got some definite age you see how the metal is pitted but somebody's come and painted it with some rust inhibitor um let me tell you something yeah while i got your attention someone lived in that house that used to be there yeah not too long ago right family the family still lives in this community yeah this family the heirs of this these people still live in this community so they're probably taking care of this i don't know mechanism work this work we'll just look at some details there we go i wanted to look at the fence yeah this could be an original fence i think it is look how pitted up the metal is yeah they painted it yeah we painted it's just been taken care of hey this one's these are facing the same way that that one that we thought might have been flipped around is facing this is in memory of nathan truitt flashlight you got the flashlight january 6 18 30 50 39 39 aged 69 years in six days did we say that was 39 59 59 59 yeah yeah 59 who died january 6 59. okay i thought that looked a little like a later style for 39. this is elizabeth truett born august 25th 17 87 it looks like it's definitely 17 17 died august 28 18 61. we can read this can we read this i'm trying to oh mother hmm i don't think so robert hey bring the camera over here and just video it and maybe when we get back we can we can uh we can uh slow it down and look at it and then so the other rob was just pointing out this there used to be a family name that would have been right here and it's gone right here look the unmarked grave yeah feels going on mark right right there and robert you're talking about this somebody has recently put up something right here probably a sign because that's that is new no doubt about it more than likely whenever this was painted and upgraded someone put a sign up there maybe affect the family name and it's i know this is gone too so let's see what we got in memory of willie h rachel's born january 2nd 1861 died september 23rd 1861. aged 8 months and 21 days something on the back here too take it out an epitaph sweet babe thy spirit now hath rest thy sufferings now our oar secure in thy redeemer's breast thou reign forevermore i'm wondering robert if these unmarked graves here they're also children but i'm wondering if these were more further into the war the civil war money was getting scarce could be this was 61. yep these could have been later let's take a look at this is a good example of a steel standing this is a good example of this of a still standing fault script and also an early one with an insert in it in memory of lydia harrison born in march 5th 1792 died may 15 1860. let me come over to that side and try to read that appetite let me see the light i'll cast a shadow on it she was a member of the m.e church for a number of years and her last days and her last days something nothing yep wanting nothing wanting nothing probably yeah um episcopal methodist church right yeah church so this could be then we did we see one somewhere that we thought was collapsed yeah that one way over there we thought was collapsed this could be the similar type of yeah probably so yeah with those large very large pieces of stone whereas the later the 1880s fault scripts are the narrow pieces of that marble or something so the other robert and i were just about to walk out and film the outro for this video and he spotted it there's a sizable indention right there what did um mitchell remember our buddy mitchell from atlanta yep multiply it by by three whatever you see and because these trees are hardwood trees are up here there's got to be something in between yeah look look everybody what do y'all think yeah that's a grave right there we've seen too many of those indentions just like that to even doubt it so there's here's another one so you'll notice this is all manicured pretty good there's actually a landscaping crew that comes through here and cuts the grass pretty regularly because it's part of a development that the city is involved with you can see behind me nice brand new hotel there we just left the uh wendy's man that was a good one too you know i'm going to make it be a frosty too i love those chocolate frostings and if you look right over there robert see that yep big amusement uh water park right there and uh i feel good about this property because it's not gonna be bulldozed down there'll be development there'll be an office building right over there probably where them pine trees are right now but they'll they'll take care of this one i feel real good about this one i think that this cemetery has seen possible vandalism in the past because we've got the missing stones and it's seen just a lot of destruction in the past obviously with some broken stuff but otherwise now it seems to have a a bright future of being cared for and not completely lost well i can remember when it was this was really thick woods yeah this road didn't exist here yep and that road out there was a two-lane road and there was no wendy's yeah it was just an old crossroads in uh troop county you know what there's another cemetery i can show you where they've really done a good job around a commercial development oh yeah yeah all right we'll have to take a look at that one we may do that next all right let's do it you
