The Marauder: Baldur's Gate 3 Heat Build

to do a deeper dive into my Marauder build this was first a request by a YouTuber called Cameron at 1999 who asked me to create some kind of Shaman Viking s Warrior that used two axes and I kind of ran away with it and created this huge Firebase dual building build that I had tons of fun with dualing axes this fighter Ranger uses the heat mechanics which I don't really see too much on YouTube but it actually it does a lot of damage you do take points of fire damage per round but we're going to be resistant to it and bloated out when we get hit or when we time that hit both attacking and getting attacked will let us accumulate more of these stacks of heat and then when it's high enough we'll toggle it on making sure that we push the damage back out this was one of my most popular Builds on Tik Tok I'm really excited to do a roll for redo on this one so let's get started with the levels there are chapters in below so if you don't want to see the levels and just get to the items and gear you can go ahead and Skip forward level one I start with fighter immediately we can grab the two weapon fighting sty which we'll be using a lot and we'll have Constitution saves which is also going to be really helpful we'll be using Hunter Mark quite a bit stats wise I like to kind of push my intelligence back and get a higher wisdom we'll have some Ranger spells but we're also going to be using Arcane inunity to have that modifier from that wisdom onto our attacks and because we'll be dual wielding we're going to be adding that quite a bit moving forward with fighter to level three there is a trick here I like to throw axes it's just a fun thing um if you want to be able to throw an Axe and have it return to you I do suggest that you do a fun trick here where you take Elder Knight you bind your weapon and then immediately reclass it then actually take Battle Master the weapon stays bound until you tell it not to which is probably a glitch it's definitely a glitch but you know use it till you can't moving forward with level four I do the dual wielding feat I'm going to be using larger axes for most of the game and this is the only way to actually dual with them and then at five I get second attack and then from there we'll move on to Ranger with Ranger the most important ability at level one is getting the resistance to fire we're going to beow level six as a full character so this is around the time we'll be accumulating the heat equipment and this is going to be really important for the other one I grab the one that gives me protection first good and evil the heat equipment is also going to be in act two and there's quite a lot of evil in act two so you can also use this we're going to have equipment that makes sure that we are concentrating on a spell to do the additional damage so Hunters Mark at level two at Ranger will take care of that and so will the protection from Good and Evil the other level Ranger spell I suggest grabbing is healing word and then once we'll take another level in Ranger for three I would grab long Strider Ranger spells suck but you know it doesn't hurt to hold on to a bow and have in Sharing strike the subclass was a toss I've actually played Marauder with two different Ranger subclasses Beastmaster and Hunter I think in the end I land with Hunter and Colossus Slayer more than Beast Master I feel like it's only really useful if you're going to take Ranger to level five to upgrade your pet but we're not going to so you know having the pet is more helpful in early game the wolf having pack tactics is really helpful and the bird doing R vision is also really helpful but in the long run I think Colossus Slayer is just going to be better immediately with level four Ranger we can take ability score increase to increase our strength and our Constitution and then immediately with our fighter level after that we can get ability score increase to increase our strength to 20 from here we'll actually just finish all our levels out with fighter now with Battle Master we get to pick our Maneuvers and there are a set that I do prefer for this build immediately at level three I would have chose menacing attack tripping attack and Repose our attacks are going to either collect heat because the weapon does it or they're going to do fire damage and then collect heat because of that and repost is going to let us do that when it's not our turn menacing attack is going to help us get advantage on our foe who has large strength and tripping attack is going to get us advantage on our foe who has low strength the final Maneuvers I would pick it kind of depends if you have a rogue in the party getting Commander strike is a really cool way to get sneak attacks more than one time around because it can sneak attack outside its turn it just needs the ability to actually attack so especially if you have a rogue with risky ring on where they always get Advantage you can just continue sneaking attacking on other people's turns the other honorable mention is disarming attack disarming attack is super helpful especially with bosses with those big scary Claymores just knock it out of their hands and snag it off the ground now for equipment equipment really makes its build as capable as it is as we wouldn't be able to use the heat mechanic without it but starting with weapons the first weapon I grab is the dragon's grasp you can grab this right out the gate at the druid's Grove it does additional damage if the target is burning which is super helpful cuz trust me we're going to be setting a lot of things on fire and if you're a throwy boy this is a really good item to bound to if you're going to stick to the axe Motif the very next weapon we get that I use to dual wield with the dragon grasp is the thermodynamic axe now you can buy this from Damon and act 2 every time you hit someone with this you're going to accumulate two stacks of heat since we're going to be exploding out fire damage quite a bit the chances of them burning are very high so these two axes together work very very well in act three I do replace one of these weapons with kin's kurar I'm definitely saying that wrong it's a scimitar that you get from a grave digging Cobalt it adds D4 fire to your attacks and it adds the chance of them burning it's fantastic for this build another weapon that you can sub in it's a little offbrand but the flail of Ages is also very helpful setting people on fire with their ability and you can turn any axe into a fire axe with the dragon's throat glaive that you can buy an act two but that's a lot of prep time and this guy already takes enough prep time so the next piece of equipment that I'd say is probably the most important are the thermomagnetic gloves you can find these just out in the open in act to in the shadowlands now every time you deal fire damage you gain two stacks of heat and because we're going to be wearing a piece of equipment called the flawed hell dusk armor we explode fire damage out every time we are hit so no matter what action we're taking we're always getting more Stacks The Ring Of sful Motion can also be found in the shadowlands on the ground this gives us an action that we can use with our bonus action that sets ourselves on fire and then that also gives us more sex I also always use the strange conduit ring which you can find in the crush this does additional dfor psychic damage as long as we're concentrating on a spell and we're already concentrating on on Hunter smk so this is just free damage speaking of things we find in the crush the diem of Arcane Synergy is crazy helpful on this build you're going to be setting people on fire left and right you're also going to be using menacing attacks to inflict conditions which will toggle our Arcane Synergy on just giving us additional damage with every one of our hits and we're going to be hitting quite a bit I snuck additional wisdom on this character by taking anti Ethel's hair and you can also use ked's gift it's an amulet you get for doing Jiro storyline it's incredibly easy to do incredibly easy to get but if you wanted to use an amulet other than that cuz that is an actx three item I would suggest using the amulet with the Harpers you can buy it from T and act 2 gives you a free use of The Shield skull which could come in
