The Last of Us Episode 1 'When You're Lost in the Darkness' REACTION!!

foreign what's up everybody welcome back to the channel the Last of Us television show is here I so I cannot wait to see how this plays out right the last of us and the last of us too the whole Last of Us universe is easily by far without question no debate for me at all the best Story video game that we have ever played yes it is so good it is just it feels like a Flawless story and the game's amazing too and I bet I would have had a better experience if I rode the damn dinosaur but inside joke for those who are hanging out with us during the live streams but yeah The Last of Us is absolutely an amazing video game and this is actually going to be the first time that we're watching and reacting to a show or any piece of content really where we have knowledge of the source material I'm really curious this is the game yes yeah I'm very curious to see how this is going to play out and what it's going to be like I can't wait to see Clickers terrifying I mean it's an HBO show and by the way HBO thank you for the Last of Us gift amazing we're going to be opening that in one second yes but it the way this is an HBO show so obviously it's going to be awesome because I mean HBO doesn't miss and I mean Joel and Ellie played by Pedro and Bella like it's going I can't wait to see how this is going to play out in live action because again Amazing Story amazing visuals in the game and seeing it come to life on screen can't wait to see how this is going to play out and see how these roles are acted out and by like these actors are amazing obviously we know Pedro very well from Game of Thrones and you know the Mandalorian and Bella obviously the feisty feisty lady Mormont so yeah we're very familiar with them and obviously yes everything else that's got to play out but yeah looking forward to seeing how this goes and experiencing this again something new for us where we actually have some knowledge of the source material which would be pretty cool if you're new sending us the care package yes very excited very you know it always humbling to be included in this kind of stuff and honestly to to be included is the huge honor I really appreciate that very grateful and yeah I think is no better way to prep for The Last of Us television show you ready to go yeah let's go and that's your biggest worry yes any kind of virus but most probably something similar to influenza 1968 new virus in Madagascar say it could be in Chicago within a matter of weeks and we end up with a global pandemic pan meaning all the whole world becomes sickle at once great I presume the prospect of a viral pandemic keeps you up at night as well no all right well that's our show just to be clear you you do think microorganisms pose a threat or in the most dire terms bacteria no you like saying no yes fungus fungi seem harmless enough many species know otherwise because there are some fungi who seek not to kill but to control where do we get LSD from where do you get it from it comes from ergot a fungus it's got jokes viruses can make us ill but fungi can alter our very Minds there's a fungus that infects insects gets inside an ant travels through its circulatory system to the ant's brain and then floods it with hallucinogens thus bending the ants mind fungus starts to direct the ant's Behavior telling it where to go what to do like a puppeteer with a marionette the fungus needs food to live so it begins to devour its host from within placing the ants flesh with its own but it doesn't let its victim die yeah that sounds fun it keeps its puppet Alive by preventing decomposition where do we get penicillin from fungus true fungi cannot survive if it's host's internal temperature is over 94 degrees and currently there are no reasons for fungi to evolve to be able to withstand higher temperatures but what if that were to change what if the world were to get slightly warmer there is reason to evolve one Gene mutates and an ascomycetia candida ergot any one of them could become capable of borrowing into our brains and taking control not of millions of us billions of us billions of Puppets spread the infection to every last human alive and there are no treatments for this no preventatives no cures they don't exist it's not even possible to make them the look on the host's face so if that happened we lose horrifying that's wild hearing that whole story and explanation during our own pandemic it's freaking wild that was Lurch lurch big tall guy uh one thing I did want to mention um like obviously we played the game we know the story that the game told us we're not gonna go like on a checklist and be like that was in the show that wasn't in the show this is in the show this is in the game We're not gonna do that we're gonna try to sit kind of clear our minds watch the show for what it is and I will say though that was really cool to start the show off gives you like a really good base for what this is potentially going to be so yeah very interesting and just for those that are wondering why we're in this setting we were having some technical issues trying to play it on the TV in our reaction room so we had to I don't I don't I I don't want to like I don't wanna like set up too many expectations especially because we know the game and like I don't want to spoil it for anybody who hasn't played the game because that's not fair yeah we don't know what road they're gonna go down with this story if it's going to be exactly the same but we're still keep a lot to ourselves I know but I'm so excited excited yeah that this is so [ __ ] good this is done so so well the casting is amazing the uh emotions you [ __ ] got me dude sobbing [ __ ] sobbing like I'm I'm trying really hard though to keep [ __ ] to myself when Sarah got shot and yeah it's that that performance by Joel and I mean the delivery of that moment was so emotional Sarah perfect Perfection casting Perfection that kid is awesome so one of the things going into this show and it's something we've talked a lot about on stream as we've kind of gotten closer to this I've had not a lot of success in terms of enjoyment with other video like if I've played a game and then watched a show or a movie I haven't ran across any that I've really loved the most recent Mortal Kombat was good but I I think it's interesting because the mindset of a video like I've been playing video games since I was a little kid the mindset of a gamer when you're playing these games especially these really heavy story games is like obviously The Last of Us is a linear story so you kind of follow the story but you still have control you could still be Ellie and Joel like you're the one with the controller making them do things you're fighting you're going through things so when you're watching something that you played it's kind of like this weird mind thing where I've never been able to really enjoy anything this through this first episode was incredible oh my God it was so well done visually looked amazing the I mean that was something practical like the Practical effects [ __ ] good yeah so good there was a lot of talk about Pedro P being Joel like if that was gonna like he's [ __ ] great it works so well and I I mean I'm so immersed now into this story and my world excited like normally it's like yeah this is gonna be great no I'm [ __ ] excited yeah this is so good I thought it was done perfectly I said it during the episode it's already like my favorite video game adaptation the live action version of this the music is there the emotion is there the delivery from the performers is there it's just all Landing so well and I mean again we're not gonna like go through a list of stuff that the game did that the show didn't do or maybe yeah after maybe after the whole series is done does this get released weekly yeah so I mean my the thing with my brain anyways is I wouldn't remember all the super details from the game we played it like six years ago it's probably been about that long because that's when we started streaming so what yeah four years no wait no we've been yeah it's it's been a whole it's been a while Wow since we played but like all the really small details I'm not gonna remember certain parts but like the greater story is obviously stuck with me because again I think it's the greatest story that I've ever played in a video game before like the entire Last of Us world one and two combined unbelievable and I just think the way that this show is gonna go I think it's going to be a math they've got a massive hit on their hands they have an absolute massive hit on their hands because I feel like as as someone who played the game it works if you haven't played this game and I would love to hear from those who have no knowledge of this Source material because we're usually the ones with no knowledge of the source material going into stuff I want to know if that worked for you because I would have to imagine it did like trying to like wipe your brain and just watch this for what it is it was so good I would also like to make a plea to the commenters please don't ruin it for anybody else that has not played the game please just like focus on this first episode and what's happening right now yeah do your best don't go too far yeah I mean the obvious the biggest thing coming out of that episode Ellie's infected she said that she has a bite three weeks old most people turn in a day yeah so there's clearly a little big thing going on right there with her and her character and yeah this Mission and just getting out of there and just all of it is just wild and and seeing the I'm not going to say what the name of the monster is yet but seeing like the zombie like plastered on the wall like we're going into some [ __ ] it's gonna be [ __ ] cool I I to go back to your like knowing the source material like that's actually kind of hard for me to not say oh yeah I want to just be like oh my God and then this and then that and then but like I don't want to ruin it anybody else's time because people that spoil [ __ ] have a special place in here exactly we don't want to ruin the story for people who are blind because this is so good though this is so good like this is warming my heart even though it just broke it yeah I mean I oh like knowing where this was going that scene was so powerful and it was so well done and it was probably greater than I could have absolutely imagined it the way it was transitioned from game to live action amazing I I still remember exactly how it happens in the game and like it was upsetting then because I was the one who played that part yeah you played that first part I was the one who started the game and then you had to hand it over and I was like I'm done now yeah um you go ahead so yeah very impactful again I I wish we had that video oh we do we do yeah it's on the it's on the it's on the live Channel I'm gonna go watch it it's on the live Channel all the playthroughs are on the live Channel I wasn't sure if that one was we saved all the last of us playthroughs all of those got saved and uploaded so see how how much I do around I'll make sure to put those in the link below so you guys could watch that if you want to if you never knew that we streamed it but yeah uh so good that first episode I
