The Last of Us Episode 5 'Endure and Survive’ REACTION!!

foreign body welcome back to the channel the Last of Us episode number five we're really flying like this is episode five already we're flying through this can you believe it's been five weeks yeah pretty wild uh this show continues to do amazing things and I think we're coming off an episode that did a really good job of continuing to essentially build the world that we're in and I think it's gonna launch us into what this next episode's gonna be because Joel and Ellie they're still on the road they're doing their thing they're traveling and you're really starting to see their bond their relationship grow this episode and you know from start to finish and and Joel kind of letting his walls down opening up to Ellie a little bit more a little bit a little bit baby steps yeah small here and there so they're on the road and they hit Kansas City and we run into really kind of our first real human problem the human Hunters are out there and we meet Kathleen who's the leader of this group and they're out there and there's a staged moment where there's a guy who appears to be hurt and he's like help me help me and they don't stop and it obviously is a trap it's a trap and they get into a shootout and Joel and Ellie they go and hide and Ellie jumps into a wall and Joel's like trying to protect her and they get into the fight Joel handles a couple of them but then gets into some hand-to-hand combat with another one and Ellie who had a gun she's been hiding it yup she has to come out and save the day and save Joel yeah and shoots the dude in the back which that ended up being like a really kind of hard moment to watch yeah the dude getting shot yeah exactly like my mom's over there like I'm a friend we're done fighting this is over I'll tell you you're cool it's like I don't believe you as much as you are crying and asking for your mom I can't can't trust you yeah it's just really difficult watching someone in their essentially like their last minutes just in despair just desperate trying to like get back home to their mom so yeah that whole situation was really crazy and just seeing how Joel responded initially to Ellie having the gun he got a little upset but then realized like this could come in handy hopefully you don't have to but if you do let's so essentially let's be safe one of the biggest steps I feel like Joel took with Ellie this episode was giving her the gun trusting her to have it and realizing that you know she could be a really good asset and they can protect each other like Joel doesn't have to do it all like Ellie's there to help too so that I think that's part of the relationship where things really start growing and obviously we run into a moment where Ellie at the beginning of the episode has this pun book and she's constantly trying to break the ice with Joel and constantly sharing these jokes and trying to make him laugh and then at the end of the episode we finally see like he laughs and she got him hard she got into that so much I thought that was a really great moment just watching Ellie just constantly kind of just hit him with these these really terrible pun jokes these dad jokes they're not terrible they were excellent if you guys didn't know Nikki's absolutely loves those type of jokes that's her Jam puns damn dad joke says you call him the cringe I love it so much I share that love with my father-in-law my dad loves those jokes and we never laughed at them until Nikki came around and that's why Nikki and my dad are like besties because she laughs at his jokes it's not just a joke it's your dad yeah he's hilarious that like you he's already laughing inside before he even gets the pun out that's the best part so obviously Nikki was a keeper once that all played out but you know yeah so we we start getting more with Kathleen to the leader of this group who has taken over Kansas City and you know they're on the hunt for Sam and Henry and there's obviously something going on there and she ends up killing a doctor and yeah like they're they're intently looking for Henry and Sam and they go and find this attic where there's some drawings and you see that there's empty food and looks like they've ran out of food and as they're walking around they open a door where there's a rumbling going on like the ground is moving off yes and destroyed yep I can't wait to see what that ends up being I have a good idea as game players I think we know where that's going but we're not going to reveal anything no spoiler dollars to the non-game players that's not fair yeah because I feel like it's still going to be different I feel like it's going to be an adjustment from the game because the show's done an amazing job of being different and being its own thing while still doing an amazing job hitting on moments from the game like the pun book in the game the porno mag was like the dirty magazine there there's like direct things from the game but they've also done such a great job in kind of telling their own story and like altering certain things here and there and again I think it's doing a fantastic job so at the end of the episode as they wake up in the morning Henry and Sam are there while Ellie and Joel are there and we meet them so that's where the episode left us and yeah I can't wait to see where this goes again I thought that was a fantastic episode that continues to build the world that we're in just looking at the scenery we saw this um like amazing shot of this amusement park that was just run down yeah just continued like there was a bridge with the train hanging like the disaster and just how horrific the world looks it's almost amazing but it's it's so peaceful yet terrifying yet beautiful yet no thank you and I just think they're doing such a good job of laying this Foundation of what the world is and really presenting what we experienced and what they're dealing with currently in this world of the Apocalypse because it's intense and the world that they're living in now is intense and it looks intense but also like the way like the greens are growing over like all the cars and just it's beautiful but horrifying just like you said it so yeah I can't wait to see where this continues to go because this show continues to be easily without question no debate probably one of the best game adaptations of all time but before we jump into the episode in honor of Ellie's pun book Nikki's gonna share a joke from her book Thank You moderators for my birthday gift I love it so much did you hear about the man who was us hang so that you could get medicine alcohol [ __ ] apples did it make you feel better did it make you feel safe how does it make you feel now Jesus no one here has to die we could put you on trial you're all guilty so that's how that'll go where is Henry your informers inform where is Henry I guess they don't know kill them he's with edel's Team Edelstein was a collaborator he was a lot more discreet than you [ __ ] idiots he said he was meeting up with Henry and Sam he had a place to hold up in the open City in case things went bad things have gone great haven't you heard Kansas City is free hold up where he didn't say I've told you everything I know of course you have you're a rat Jesus I want our people going door to door until we find him we already got a perimeter around the city we can wait him out door-to-door would take a lot of men and there are other things he's not my seventh priority Perry we're really putting them on trial we are not really putting them on trial burn those toys were awesome simple and awesome Satan bird he's adorable perfect the little artist it's super saiyan ah the kid episodes of anything just are very hard to watch foreign [Music] it's a lot Perimeter we get close we get caught so how do we get across Kansas City has a Subway no but they do have maintenance tunnels so we enter the tunnels here travel underground and pop up here there's an embankment on the other side of the houses we head down pedestrian bridge over the river it's a great plan so what do you need me for protection you notice anything strange about this city I mean other than the stranger you've already seen no infected it was infected just not on the surface if I just drove them underground 15 years ago and never let them come back up wow so you want us going into a tunnel everyone thinks that it's full of infect including Kathleen which means that we're not going to be running into any of our people we see what I know is it's empty the federal guy that I worked with told me that it's clean completely clean maybe there's one or two what if there's more or one of those blind ones that seems like a bat you ran into a clicker two of them and you're still alive there's the word you're the right people clicker yep perfect name for those things it's a great plan no that's my dicey as [ __ ] plan but as far as I could tell it's only shot I like his honesty yeah I can show you his [ __ ] plan but it's our best shot I just hate how little supplies that they have no they have basically nothing and they gave us a nice tease in the last episode of the [ __ ] underground yeah trying to come up through the ground but you run into any clickers down there like they don't have the Firepower right now for that got to use your stealth which terrible terrible itself I hate to tell we've been down here two seconds don't know anything that's kind of a pessimist I'm not my dad whoa look at that shot I know it's so crazy thank you dude I would be pooping my pants honestly I wouldn't have survived this long so never been dead a long time ago [Music] like if you're not scared and you're probably not going to make it very far fear will drive you crazy to see it all places like this recreating underground after outbreak day build settlements what happened to them maybe they didn't follow the rules and they all got infected no way I love these Edge of the U you endure and survive endure survive [ __ ] yeah man they're really cute if you were collaborating to take care of him I shouldn't have said what I said I don't know your situation and I'm not saying they should let it go but all things considered seems kind of cruel to send a whole Army after you for that you know I wasn't uh exactly telling you the truth before and about me not killing someone it was a man a great man Sam he got sick leukemia there was one drug that worked big shock there wasn't much left of it and it belonged to fedra and if I wanted some I was gonna take something big should I give them something big that one Green Man the leader of the resistance movement in Kansas City and Captain's brother still think they should take it easy on me or am I the bad guy that was easy I am the bad guy because I did a bad guy thing but you get it though you might not be her father she was someone's No One's Gonna be here because my plan worked so much goddamn talking just saying I delivered make this right go down the street Bank me behind the last house and we're out I'm scared well we're going to Wyoming what it's a huge state it can fit two more people maybe we just call this one a success and say our father Wells you know it changes mine this is how it goes he's like no L.A never ever ever happening at me oh [ __ ] is that cool shut up stay here if you don't move he's not gonna hit you I'm gonna go around try to get in the house through the back and then I'll take them out but if you go out there he's gonna kill you it's dark and he has [ __ ] why you did what you did but did you ever stop to think that maybe he was supposed to die he's just a [ __ ] kid before kids die Henry wow a [ __ ] I think the whole world revolves around him that he's worth everything yeah get ready to take him and run yes it's time Henry enough it ends the way it ends yikes dude oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] damn the giant swarm of clickers holy [ __ ] that's horrifying dude man oh they look so good yeah they do oh my God where did Henry and see him go [Music] [Applause] oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] it's amazing thank you [Music] would it take Kathleen it looks so good they do they did such a good job oh my God oh he just ripped his head off oh [ __ ] it's a little kid oh God it's a little kid it's a little kid it's a little kid all the way it like moves it's just oh my God this actor is amazing oh my God look at this teamwork look at this teamwork Joel's not a shitty shot nope oh my damn dude stop oh my God no Joel yeah yeah [ __ ] [ __ ] like a spider monkey chip oh [ __ ] dude that scene was intense as hell this is amazing we're not going to reveal the name of the giant clicker monster thing until they do just yeah we know what it's called and they did an amazing job it looks so good just for the non-game players that comic book say endure and survive endurance survive Dash is redundant yeah it's not great look I don't know exactly how I'm getting to Wyoming I'm probably walking you know if you want to yeah I think it'd be nice for Sam to have a friend tell them in the morning new gaming star to line up look scared he's like hell no you don't look scared she's a tough chick I'm scared all the time scorpions hahaha I should show you oh no God my blood is medicine foreign I promise foreign foreign which was worst so brutal foreign story elements that I'm sure you remember I do from the game it's one of those Unforgettable things that happens and I was really just kind of hoping that maybe in this scenario they would have changed it and let the four of them go together but can't that's not the story yeah I um I started to remember like how [ __ ] went down when she he when Sam showed Ellie the bite and then I was like oh yeah oh yeah that's that's how that happens yeah as such a brutal brutal moment because it's just it's like a little kid though when you see it like in live action it's it they're so much more impactful for me when it's live people acting it out like ah I don't think it would have the same impact if the performances weren't awesome oh my God the actors under all of these situations are doing an amazing job they're making it super [ __ ] believable the like the the child actors are just amazing like I believe that they are [ __ ] terrified I mean Sarah in the first episode that whole situation and then with Sam and Henry and this one like it's brutal and when you get a little backstory on why Kathleen was so gung-ho about getting Henry you start realizing that this whole situation is just all for revenge and the fact that Henry did what he did and the result was Kathleen's brother yeah I mean you heard her talking about him in the last episode but the fact that he did everything he did just to keep his brother alive it was but it was never understood it and he was like just forgive but yeah it's just the fact that it got to that point and that she was absolutely dead set on not listening to her brother and going after Henry it's just it's it's very unfortunate and yeah that whole this whole Kansas City storyline was knowing what was coming with the overall story it was really difficult to watch because he knew exactly what it was building to I don't think it was Kansas City in the game not like it matters but I think it was a different city in the game but I mean just seeing it all play out the moment we met Henry and Sam and knowing where that was that's one of the big story lines that I will never forget from the game and there's like a lot of them but that's one of the big ones was dealing with and meeting and trying to help Henry and salmon and seeing the way it ended yeah just so brutal but yes very emotional I mean the action sequence in this episode was awesome when Kathleen and her Army showed up and Joel and everyone was hiding and when the friggin ground sunk in and all the clickers came flying out that [ __ ] was so [ __ ] up they are doing the clickers so good and obviously the the big giant monster clicker which again we do know the name of but we won't reveal it until the show does just you know just to keep the non-game players you know safe from spoilers and stuff I know it's just the name of a monster but still I wouldn't want the name spoiled for me so we're not going to spoil it for them if people find it online for themselves yeah have at it but I don't want it to be my fault right I'm happy that they dropped the name clickers in this episode Henry mentioned that they were like oh you encountered one and lived like Yeah we're definitely going to hang out together and you're gonna take me where we need to go because I know you can handle it yeah but the the giant monster looked so good I thought it was like it's one of those things where you see it and play it in a game you're like how is that going to transition into a live-action shot yeah because it could look ridiculous it could look stupid I thought they did an amazing job dude you like got what's his name just ripped him in half like he gripped his [ __ ] head off wow like the Clickers their sounds their movements like the girl in the like the little girl in the back seat like rolling through the car like that [ __ ] is so creepy and I think it's just so on point coming after Kathleen fire yeah fire so good I I get again I'm I'm gonna continue to praise the hell out of this show because I think they're doing an amazing job with what I thought was an impossible task before we started this show because again the last of us and the last of us too easily without question my number one and two favorite story games I mean again there's you know God of Wars up there I never finished Red Dead 2 which was on its way to being an amazing game um but it's my favorite game best Story game I've ever played we had an amazing experience with it and I'm just like this is an impossible thing there's no way the show is going to even come close to living up to the game and it's doing it yeah it's doing an amazing job this live action show is so good and yeah it's just they're hitting on all the emotions they're hitting on all the intensity they're doing it really this was obviously a little bit of a slower episode up until slow but slow but it was it was more will World building or character building more really kind of understanding the stakes of what we're dealing with here in Kansas City yeah more movement um to get out I guess yeah and then when the action hit it it hit and it hit hard so yeah it's just knowing what we were building to it was a lot of anticipation a lot of just nervousness and anxiety building to that you know final scene and yeah again I think they did an amazing job I'm gonna go right now and probably well once I edit this I'm gonna go re-watch that whole situation and kind of get a mindset on comparing the two and see how they let me know when you do that because I'll watch it with you okay yeah because I it's one of the things I like to do is when we watch an episode that I know is clearly based off of stuff in the game I like to go back and watch the cinematics from the game there's easy you know you can find YouTube videos about that whole thing it's really awesome that people just spend the time they clip the hours and hours and hours and hours of cinematic shots from the game so yeah we're definitely gonna do that because yeah of course our game plays down below always so wild the show is really good any other thoughts no I do not all right
