let's get out of here but you're right by and large it's usually not good but the show the video game the people that made the video game are also show running the show am I right on that uh yes Neil druckman like the game like the story Runners this is a one of the best games ever made that poured a lot of love into it so I can't imagine that they wouldn't do the same for the show we got some really big names Pedro Pascal uh uh Bella Ramsay and you know I think Nick will love her Oh you mean what lyanna Mormon and uh Oberon hey I just want to say this because I know no one else watches this video game um adaptation but the Halo video game adaptation was so bad in the first two seconds of this show someone isn't showing their ass crack it's literally going to be better than Halo pretty exciting also still think you guys should watch it I didn't know yes we won't see him probably I'm hoping this is good because it will inform whether or not God of War on Amazon it's gonna be good and that is another amazing story that if anyone was a God of War fan and hasn't played the last two games they should get it you just turn into Popeye all right it's good let's get it and that's the biggest things that they focused on is the environment that's why it's such an outstanding game because like they paid very close attention to like how the Earth will like retake the environment and like foliage and trees with like the city life and everything and as as more time passes you see it you think things being overgrown more and more so like the just the environment in and of itself is a character yeah in the game it's part of why I like this post-apocalyptic story because it's set 20 years later so like we already have like these quarantine zones kind of like we don't we don't have to see all like the the usual tropes that we see in a in a fresh apocalyptic story you know people are bad you know like infection is bad although they at least rebuilt Society somewhat to this extent but as you can see there's like it's kind of like technology stopped at 2003. yeah even what you noticed like all the rewiring and how they had to it's just there's a lot of details that tell a story in and of itself it's just so yeah it's so good obviously a lot of us were giddy on the couch but the use fighting Marquetta Cuddy what do you guys initial thought I played the game too I mean it's just he missed the beginning you know yeah especially like for the way they did this in the very beginning making it realistic like where the dude in the beginning is just like oh no if the Earth got a little warmer and these things had to evolve then it's possible that blah blah it's like holy [ __ ] because the Earth is getting warmer and these things might have to evolved what do you think about that yeah every everything is going to adapt you know what I mean to to survive in the conditions that the Earth is turning into essentially I mean hopefully we do too yeah there's plastic in the spring water y'all they're plastic in our bloodstream dude someone blew my mind yesterday we were talking about cruises and he was like I don't do cruises because where do you think they put their trash that sounds like somewhere oh I asked my buddy yesterday but like wow I didn't like I didn't think that I had an amazing time and he [ __ ] straight into the ocean uh I think it's really good um they're uh they're nailing a tone I don't know the tone of the game so I'm not gonna speak torch the game I'm gonna speak towards the show uh the setting's great the Tone's great the setup was really good they really ratcheted up the tension giving you a clear context of who these characters are and they're already motivations which is great also um Ellie being immune to the whole situation was given to you well before we got to that point because when they had it locked up in a room and they're doing the test on her she said is it gonna happen to me like am I gonna be okay or like and that's why I was able to assess that from that and it's bringing um just memories of people talking about the game a whole bunch like I don't remember like any specific things but I'm not just you guys like the whole entire game I was like no it was a cultural [ __ ] thing people were talking about [ __ ] I don't you pay attention to what's going on but we still don't know how this is happening to her like maybe she's important because she got like some tests maybe made her in the last time because she's a little bitty trippy that's the thing she could have been eater you could be growing kids in a lab that could be trying to figure out shouldn't know where [ __ ] mom is so there's a lot of like give a big shot a lot of potential what is the tone what is the tone of like from your interpretation um you said you said I'm not gonna speak on the game uh it's it's uh a little bit of levity here and there with uh with Ellie being this little like kind of feral kid it's dark it's gritty but it's super realistic and it's not like too try Hardy it feels very naturally ground yeah like it's natural it's grounded like they're not forcing anything it doesn't feel like it just feels like it's all happening naturally and also like the fire lights or the fireflies fireflies they're annoying but they also seem like their group was like yeah that makes sense like they bombed the truck there was some collateral damage whatever like and I know that they say that they're fighting for freedom to bring that back because yeah it's gonna be a military dictatorship the [ __ ] starts falling apart like it those kind of things like happen and for them to be like we're trying to bring freedom back but also have this other goal like I don't know it's cool makes sense like I'm not questioning anybody like oh that was dumb or that was silly like all it was cool and also with the Airborne thing like even if it is Airborne like maybe you have like a low-key immunity and maybe you need to get bit like everyone like it kills everyone it can get too easily and then after that it's like you got to get scratched to get it or whatever you gotta get scratched that's kind of what I assumed like in the game you put on a mask when there's like a [ __ ] ton of spores like yeah right put on a mask but like uh I think a little bit here and there it's like like a dead body decomposing I don't think that's enough unless you're like licking it yeah but they they walked right up to the the creep why would you lick it right up to the creepy one on the wall that was that yeah I don't know if I would have done that yeah I don't know it's that's what I'm saying even as a game's like when you have to put on the mask like they're you got to you're just suspend yourself and they haven't shown the monsters yet either too which is really good we've done a lot uh like it's still a lot of good building work huh yeah the guy on the wall I think is like the final stage of the mushroom in my opinion yeah because the mushrooms are growing out of this one at that point that's what's unique too is you're gonna see a variation much like there's a growth with the environment as time goes on there's a progression with the infection as well and that's all I'll say wow you guys are a bunch of [ __ ] nerves it's so good there's a lot of detail there man they're glad they're doing running zombies man yeah that's the more terrifying it seems like they're not even running like they just get like thrown yeah they're like they have no they can't like manage their like speed or Direction yeah it's just like it's like um like a reflex like you're just like flung yeah and then they're flying in the other direction and I've never seen that good body work yeah the weird fear that like I'm too competitive so if I come become a zombie I'm gonna try to be the best zombie I feel like I'm so fast like you guys if I get infected take me out see the climbers this one's athletic like holy [ __ ] y'all just kill me for sure I do like that the Twitchy body like makes sense because it's it's a parasite that's just manipulating or like what did it say it's making you hallucinate yeah yeah it's almost like it's just tapping little synaptic stuff um you become the puppet so at the very beginning of the episode I do think that like it was a brief no never mind never mind I'm wrong uh but like you could see you can see you can see Twitches like when she was in the classroom looking over at one of the students like it was just very very subtle storytelling it was really good so I feel like we're all trying to avoid it because it's super sad but it does suck how he lost his daughter that quick like yeah yeah that's some [ __ ] [ __ ] yeah that was the opening sequence of the game yeah like after that first 10 minutes of the game you're just like well [ __ ] this is what yeah like we're here for this man I just realized I started playing the game and then I got to my first set of clickers and I was like nope oh you they really did that beginning sequence Justice like no matter how many times you play the beginning of the game like when when Sarah dies like it gets you every time because it's especially Troy Baker's uh voice acting it's just Pedro Pascal they they did it justice so that's what I was gonna say they did a really good Justice I was worried about the cast coming into this like I had my my reservations for sure because like I did play the game and I'm like what you're bringing Pascal and Ramsay into this like I just can't see it because I knew it from Game of Thrones and other stuff and I just couldn't see it for some reason oh they're nailing like you know like the guitar and the Twang and all those like aspects that you got from the game but it's they're literally 100 for me I love it yeah she's gonna say Ramsay's still playing the same character yeah Joel is a little I mean like he's it's it's Joel but you know it's Pedro Pascal it's not like exactly one to one but it's he's nailing it but I I do like the Silver Daddy Jewel and they're doing it good like they're I look daddy the silver guy and look even like the ducky he has silver hair down yeah like I I wonder if the mocap actors and actresses feel a certain type of way but they have to understand like it's a different medium uh translating like you you do need a little bit of star power and recognizability and you know like Pedro Pascal it's hot right now like [ __ ] Mandalorian trailer we're about to watch it it's them they're they're in uh Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson have they're going to Cameo yeah and I I think I saw a glimpse of uh Ashley Johnson already so I I think I I think I know what she's playing we didn't watch all of the trailers so everybody's like dude really we didn't watch the trailer yeah guess what we watched one trailer um I mean look if you gotta look at it and I don't agree because I don't [ __ ] with it but like Studios look at any property like this I know that there's a lot of artists that work around it but the [ __ ] with the money look at this [ __ ] like a straight up investment right and if they're like oh like let's put one of the voice actors in it because they did really good voice acting they're like well that guy doesn't act and who knows if he's got it like we're gonna need somebody in there who's gonna be like a for sure we need a star there's not a star any yada yada so then like then it's up to the casting directors to pick a star who's going to be able to portray that and going to be able to do good so like I hope the voice actors don't feel a certain way about it but like they work inside of the studio industry and it's got all of its stupid rules and checks and balances and [ __ ] like No One's Gonna Play an untested face and a billion dollar project acting right yeah yeah different skill sets even though Halo movie even even though how they made the game like it essentially was acting like all the cutscenes they were doing they were in a motion capture studio so they were acting the parts okay yeah okay same with God of War Ragnarok we get it it's gonna be great it's just really like I've seen like seeing the behind the scenes of the motion capture is so fascinating to me um Troy Baker when he was doing the scene where Sarah died or whatever he said that he was like Hamming it up a lot like really crying his daughter dying and Neil druckman director actually told him specifically like what points to do and like Reign it in a little bit yeah and that's what made it so good so sometimes you do need a good director to like yeah it's cool because Troy Baker at first he was like offended by that he's like dude I just gave him my oh yeah yeah but then when he ran it back in and he went back and watched it he's like okay yeah that's a lot better yeah it's a lot better yeah it is so good that's it I'm glad like we got a solid accurate Pedro Pascal's not behind a mask this whole show like we're gonna actually see him emote that's good that was pretty much okay so like the beginning of the game you're with Sarah and like there's a bunch of cut scenes it's very very cinematic that this was really like the first mission like uh well you go with escape the city you know what it has to go find the battery but then like the first real mission is like yeah escape the well you you kill you end up like hunting down Robert that he's all like that yeah there are some differences like like uh in the city when the car didn't T-Bone them oh yeah oh and now a plane is crashing okay the plane was so good oh my God there's some differences but it's like well done I'm saying that I don't know if they touched on properly or might have been confusing was Tommy's uh involvement with Marlene I don't know if we should expect yeah I know it's a thing no because like he's just like we play Marlene yeah um no uh so here's my one theory about the show uh here are the two places that are totally okay on the planet it's gonna be Iceland and Australia okay and maybe Oceania uh because so Australia is already its own like Eco biodiversity yeah bro they got [ __ ] Kangaroos and [ __ ] and so like the second I say like because we ain't got kangaroos the second that the world starts [ __ ] up and like let's shut down all the borders we're straight up out background Antarctica right here clicker I'm I'm done you guys congratulations where they can't like ice and water everywhere yeah actually man no no solver ghosts 500 people live there or something and it's like yeah it's like dark like it's the summer times are like night like they don't get sun for months uh Iceland I'm gonna go for Iceland I'm going for slobber I'm going to Africa what why oh
