Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
I enjoyed this film a lot more than James did tbh. Of course it was crappy and cringy at points, but I thought it was funny and well acted too.
This reminds me of all those "[X] Movie" movies that came in the late 00's-early '10's where it was pretty much the entire cast screaming "LOOK AT US REFERENCING THIS MUCH BETTER MOVIE!", trust me, NONE of those stereotypes would even bother with half the stuff they reference in the movie(s). I know, I've lived through it.
The gore is good though so at least there's that?
I can understand James disliking the characterization in this movie (and its predecessor) because his assessment is dead on; nobody acts or talks like the teens in these movies. Iβm 21 with a 17 year old sister, and it is pretty cringe how a 50 year old man thinks todayβs youth acts like.
Besides that, I do enjoy these movies though. I donβt know, itβs like a βturn your brain off and enjoy the dumb funβ type of thing. Obviously not taking it serious, but itβs entertaining at least.
Great kill count even for a movie that looks meh. I did get a weird Q-Anon like ad during the video which I thought was odd for dead meat.
Oof, this movie looks bad. I'm getting a live action Family Guy vibe off it: an avalanche of pop culture references, cutaways and dick jokes. Is there any piece of the 80s that hasn't been cannibalized by now?
Ultra meta and quippy has been hammered into the ground at this point. The first movie was alright but doing it again with the absurdity dialed up just doesn't sound appealing at all. Props to James for at least making a fun video out of it.
Iβm happy James acknowledged the greatness of The Mick! Scott MacArthur is also hilarious on The Righteous Gemstones.
I ended up watching this movie last week, along with the first one, and I will say the first one is definitely better but I still did enjoy this one. I will say that the best part of both movies, for me, was Max I laughed pretty much almost everytime he was on screen.
Even sitting through this kill count was cringey. How the fuck do people watch this bottom of the barrel trash?
Usually my horror movie tastes are right in step with James but I like this movie and it's predecessor way more than he does. I mean I see everything he's saying and I agree with it individually, it just doesn't make me dislike the movie.
