prayer do it every day and it changes things but it changes us it does totally I can't wait to hear what she has to say Becca lamb hi mom how are you I'm all right always glad when piccaboo is on the table Mindy Murdoch how are you great thank you good to have you kimberly ray so good to have you it's a pleasure to be here thank you so very much for having me thank you for being here I'd say you're always a blessing i think 'well pastor kimberly ray has a fire that cannot be contained picking up where her mother left off with it angie ray ministry she's helping many people through spiritual warfare to find the peace and freedom they need today she's here to talk about her new book spiritual intervention and how there is true power found in the holy spirit and in prayer so I mean this is an important subject I think there are a lot of people in the body of Christ that are bound oh yes and God wants us to be free talk a little bit about that absolutely first thank you so much Joni for having me blessing so my sisters men but I do believe that the power of prayer can bring deliverance to individuals who really want to break free from the bondage and the Bible teaches us that Jesus came to give us freedom to give us new life and through the power of prayer and you know just a determination to be free God is able to set free from whatever the bondage is well let's talk about some of the challenges that your family faced yes when as you were growing up and and kind of share if you will some of your your life experiences and that really brought this subject even more to the forefront for you absolutely well I wanted to say first that I after the age of 10 years old I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ I've been serving the Lord since I was ten years old and really excited about that but one particular time in our life the life of my family my mom was a Christian of course my sisters were but my father went through a very challenging time and I remember when he was actually a butcher he had a great job everything was great but there was an economic problem and they just started laying people off well my father went into depression and he started drinking which was totally out of his character and I really opened the door to alcoholism and to depression but our praying mom she began to teach my sisters and I how to come together and to intercede for our Father and to of course love him and entreat him kindly but we went to the Lord and prayed and asked the Lord to touch our dad and of course I have a baby sister Tanya who tried to help the Lord out she found one of his bottles of it was vodka in the pantry and Tanya went and poured it out she poured it out and put some water in it but anyway of course my father when he tried to drink and recognize that it was different he screamed Tanya nobody's done this but her but anyway it was her way of saying dad we want you to be whole we want you to be okay but the Lord touched my father and he came to my sisters after of course a period of Prayer sometimes I believe believers become impatient because we want the answer right now at this very moment but the Lord touched our father and he came and told us he said I can't tell you when it actually happened all I know is the smell of alcohol makes me sick so God delivered my dad and of course he became a born-again Christian and gave his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ oh that's all yeah that was one of your early really encounters with understanding that prayer changes things absolutely well I also love the fact that you know you were a single lady yes for you know you watching and you'll say I want you to talk about the single thing that Johnny please so I want you to talk about that because you got married at 4848 I thought it was 42 about the father's business and ministry and focus yo so let's talk about it if we could a little bit because a lot of single women especially and men too but I hear it more from from women they they're just not happy and they're they're looking they're searching for that person and they they just feel like they can't be complete until they they meet and they're married and you know and all of that and then society sometimes puts pressure that's sure oh you know well Kimberly you know why why aren't you married or you know have you ever been in love and they'll start asking there's very insensitive questions so address all of that if you will sure well I'll share with you all that I was living a Christian life living saved the Lord of course I shared that I was a child of the church I got Savior young so I went through my adolescent years my young adult years serving the Lord and I was ministering traveling all over the country as an evangelist and really understanding that if you set your affections on things above that God will bless you and I heard you say something Joni and I think and I say this with great respect to my single sisters around the world and that is that a lot of them become disappointed and disillusioned because they are looking the Bible says he that findeth a wife findeth a good thing and that they obtained favor from God so I think if they could just understand number one that God wants us to delight ourselves in him and the Bible says he'll give us the desires of our heart and so as a young lady I was just traveling ministering loving on Jesus praising the Lord and praise and worship you know yeah and after years and years of being single this is the honest truth my I have a producer his name is Joel and Joel gave me a call I was supposed to do a shoot and the shoot was supposed to begin at two o'clock in the afternoon and he called he said Kimberly we're running behind schedule I need one hour and so I took my iPad and I went into a restaurant by myself and of course my sister Denise had been telling me about this brand-new restaurant you gotta go you got to go to Luby's is the name of it anyway I went in the restaurant I sat down I pulled out my iPad and this is the truth I was studying about the Holy Spirit I'm just sitting there rejoicing they're praising the Lord and here comes an officer he's a sheriff officer for the police department and he just struck up a conversation and began to talk to me and I could just I just felt like I found a friend or a friend found me I should say and so we became great well I should say at that restaurant we talked for a little while and he said I don't want to take up all your time I just want you to have a good day so he went to the to the counter and he paid for my meal so when I got ready to notice that you first made his card at the front and he had paid for my food he was intentional so of course I waited awhile to say thank you for them feel but I did you respond out of just being gracious I wanted to be kind and say thank you because it's not every day that someone is that gracious to you so anyway we just became friends and we just started conversing back and forth and the fascinating thing is is that he would say well Kimberly can we go to lunch and I was so busy with my preaching schedule this is the honest truth I said I got to go to Philadelphia I had a new New York I gotta go to you know I was so busy being busy for the kingdom yeah but he remembered him saying Kimberly can we just go have a glass of orange juice you know it got my attention and so from there a beautiful friendship blossomed so he pursued you absolutely yeah that's something we talked about Beca make it's like I am not pursuing oh that's me any guy that's not my job not your job and she said like the scripture says he that finds a good wife so the man's gonna yeah that's right that's true that's true so what would you say to all of our wonderful singles who are watching right now just encourage them I know some of you you know you're at a place you're like well you know I am sufficient and who I am in Christ but I do have this desire what would you say to know just look in the camera and encourage those that are watching right now I want to first of all say that it's okay to desire a family a husband it's okay it's alright to go to the Lord in sincerity and pray and ask the Lord to let the man that he created God made someone for every single woman that's watching God has already conditioned you for what is about to come but until they arrive I want to encourage you the Bible says in Corinthians the single seeks to please the Lord that we might be holy and body and in spirit listen to light yourself in the Lord steak joyful and then another thing I want to say is that our times have changed there have been some major changes that have happened as it relates even to men honestly I want to say to the single women this is not your fault it's not your fault yeah I mean that in all sincerity I'm not trying to bash anyone but our times have changed there are some men that have decided to seek an alternative lifestyle there's some men that are incarcerated I mean there's so many things going on in our world some men they don't want a commitment exactly there's some men that only want to commit to several people or they want to have a sexual relationship without the commitment of me right Christian girls we don't do that yeah do you think sometimes girl or male yes we have this five page list of what we want in a mate and that person does not exist right or we want something that we're not willing to be exactly there is an unrealistic expectation in the lives of a lot of single women I mean they're like expecting a prince on a horse you just come in you know take them off into the sunset but honestly you have to be realistic and not set your expectations I too have met so many single women they've got a list if you unroll it it's just going to keep going yeah you have to be realistic and and I think some women need to understand everybody's not going to marry a pastor everybody's not going to marry a preacher or or you know some big name or some big person but sometimes God has a plan for you that it's not what you are planning right but you have to surrender your plan to God and say Lord whatever your will is for me that's all that I want so what is non-negotiable for single women and men that are listening right now what are some of the things that are non-negotiable right when looking for that person but truth is you cannot be unequally yoked you can't connect with someone who doesn't love your father we love Jesus we want to please him and then and the father of course we want to be in the will of God so that's non-negotiable they have to be a born-again Christian and no you can't try to convert everybody just for the purpose of them being a mate yeah because whatever is in them yeah doing a missionary day right right yeah you have to understand that some people don't want to serve the God that you serve true so you've got to tell us cuz you just kind of skipped over it and said you get married didn't tell us about the proposal wedding and you have here a table full of girls okay yeah when he proposed to me I just felt I felt the love of God and I mean I felt a romantic love too and I knew that it was real but I felt that this man is really going to care for me and would he pull the ring out he came and got down on one knee and he pulled the ring of course I was like wow this is worth waiting for I'll tell any single woman of God the Lord's way is perfect yeah his way is worth waiting for I have found joy unspeakable and a beautiful life I'm so happy happy happy happy plug let me go to the wedding okay okay um the wedding was absolutely it was like a dream really the Lord blessed me to of course have some of my best friends my sister of course my sister CeCe Winans who was dear to me she was my matron of honor and so did she get to sing and be the matron of honor you know what she didn't say she did and she just walked down the aisle yeah but I just had the most beautiful day the Lord blessed me to find a beautiful dress that I thought was so appropriate for a pastor praise the Lord and I just had the most wonderful day the the the pastor that married us of course was this ship his name is Bishop Horace Smith he's out of Chicago and we just had a small wedding party but just you can the thing that I love most about the wedding was this is that not only was I overwhelmed with the joy of the Lord and with complete happiness I actually felt the presence of the Lord I knew that he had sanctioned it and that he approved it and I remember looking up to the Lord just saying thank you Lord for blessing me for remembering me and that's what I want to say to all those single women that are watching God is not gonna forget about you he's gonna he's going to remember you he knows your name and those of you that are really really disappointed because it hasn't happened yet just keep hoping in the Lord God knows even the language of your tears he knows what you really feel out your authentic feelings about this subject but he loves you so much that he's going to remember you so I want them to be encouraged to wait on the Lord but they've got away from he's working while they're waiting that's right well I want you to stay right there we're back with more from Kimberly right just [Music] while we're at the table today with Kimberly ray Gavin talking about her new book spiritual intervention so Kimberly let's talk a little bit about spiritual intervention and the part that the holy spirit plays and all of this is that an important part oh absolutely I believe it's so important in fact it's vital that we understand that the Holy Spirit is a Paraclete he's our helper and so when you really rely upon the Holy Spirit you are saying I'm not trying to fix things myself but I'm going to the source that can help me whatever the problem is you know in the natural when maybe there's a family member that's going through a crisis or a struggle a lot of times they'll call the whole family together and they'll ask a professional to come in and have an intervention for that person and so in spiritual intervention it's like when two or three are gathered together in the name of the Lord he's in the midst and we put our faith together and we pray for whatever the problem is with the expectation that with the help of the Holy Spirit that something is going to change some door is going to open some yoke is going to break and deliverance will come the Holy Spirit is so real and I'm so grateful that we have him to go to in times of trouble that's good yes April what what does that mean to you I mean really person of the Holy Spirit first of all that he's able to do it we just have to flow with him because I think it's Joyce Meyer that says we don't need a Holy Ghost Junior we just need to rely on him and it does if he's junior we're leaving and he's following yeah just just trusting God in trusting the power of the Holy Spirit I know there's been a situation in my life recently where I just I mean I really just throw myself into prayer not that I don't pray but I prayed more than I've ever prayed before because I needed results more than I've ever needed them before and I saw such a change and it wasn't overnight but it was such a change in the the key for me was to keep myself out of the driver's seat you know as we try to go in and we try to tweak a little things we know God has control but we're gonna help him a little bit yeah so when I took my hands off and just committed it to prayer and surrendered yeah I mean results happened then what about you and it kind of helping people understand who the Holy Spirit is and it's not something to be afraid of I would just say I remember the first time I was taught that the Holy Spirit was a person I remember thinking it was the weirdest combat even though I grew up in a spirit-filled home because you know it's easy to think of the father and the son as persons cuz that's you know human like father said we can think of we know we have a father we have a son but the Holy Spirit that's harder concept to grasp because we don't see the spiritual with our physical eyes but if you study him in the Bible he has all these personal traits he searches he seeks he knows he reveals he comforts you know an impersonal force can't comfort someone and when you understand the Trinity its Father Son Holy Spirit in relationship with one another and even in the Bible you see where the father talks to the Son and the Holy Spirit you know they all interact with one another so when you understand that the Holy Spirit is a person and that he's a Paraclete yes and also in the Greek it talks about how Paraclete it's like the same words used for Jesus and when he's describing the Holy Spirit he says basically I'm sending someone who's just like me yes who will do everything that I can do but more because he's unlimited you know he's everywhere and so it was very important that Jesus send the Holy Spirit because Jesus could only do so much on earth he had to go to heaven and see the Holy Spirit to do the rest yes you know what what I would say is that everything that you see I mean those of you that watch today's star television network I mean it was the Holy Spirit that empowered us yeah to be careful to do supernatural things to build one TV station that turned into 2 3 over 150 and satellites around the world we could have never done it without the power of the Holy Spirit operating through us leading us guiding us opening doors fighting battles etc etc what would you say you know what comes to my mind is goes along with what you all have said in that the Bible says the same power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead dwells in the believer and I think when we understand the power of the Holy Spirit because he is part of the Trinity and it's it's a power that was powerful enough to resurrect mm-hmm Jesus Christ that if we can be reminded of that how the Holy Spirit enables us to walk in this amazing power and that with prayer with these groanings that are we don't even know sometimes what to utter I know times when I go in my little war room and it's desperation then you know Holy Spirit knows exactly what to communicate to the Father for us that we need in that moment the Holy Spirit he gives us power also after that the Holy Ghost comes upon us he gives us power he gives us power to heal the sick to raise the dead to cast out Devils we have authority and Dominion you know Joni I love telling people that are born-again Christians that you are a winner you're more than a conqueror when you have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you I tell you the best is yet to come and even as it relates to the Holy Spirit I love the fact that it gives you this fervency even as it relates to prayer Bible says in the book of James that it is the fervent effectual prayers of the righteous that availeth much and when you have the Holy Spirit even when you go into prayer when you don't even know what to say the Holy Spirit begins to give you the words together and we don't know how to pray you know sometimes all you have to do is say the name Jesus and the Holy Ghost will get ahold of that and he'll take you up into another place but there is power and I thank God for the Holy Spirit I received the infilling of the Holy Ghost at the age of 12 and I remembered the pastor saying if you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit tonight he said I want you not to ask for anything right now but just begin to tell the Lord thank you Lord for who you are thank you Lord your Jehovah your the God that reveals yourself start praising him and as I praise the Lord and begin to worship God I just felt an overwhelming presence of the Holy just overtake me in at that time of course I began to speak with new tongues and I thank God for having a praying mother sitting next to me saying yes that's all I thank God it's real yeah it's real and in times of trouble you can rely upon him to give you the wisdom of God also you amen so salvation equips us for the life to come it's the most important prayer that you'll ever pray when you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins to come into your heart and to be Lord of your life and you accept what he did at Calvary and realized that he paid the price for your sins and you have the promise of eternal life in heaven but the baptism of the Holy Spirit is what prepares us to live in this life present time in this present day that's for people who are watching right now who said you know what I believe everything that Kimberly is saying and Joni and April Rebecca and Cindy but I've just got some prayers that aren't being answered what would you say to encourage them today I would tell them that there's a man in the Bible named Daniel who sought the Lord and fasting in prayer but there was a hindering spirit there was a spirit that came to delay but God sent Gabriel the messenger angel to tell him I heard you when you first started praying but then the Lord is so gracious he sent Michael the warfare angel to do warfare and to battle on Daniel's behalf and I'll say to that believer you have power you have authority but you're gonna have to get into this battle and bind the hindrance the delay every tactic to impede the will of God for your life you got a war yeah and if you war in the spirit no weapon formed against you is gonna prosper yeah God is going to see you through that battle well we're just about out of time I really feel like you should pray if you just kind of stretch your hand and pray for for everyone that's watching today absolutely my father in the precious name of Jesus I thank you Lord for every person who is sitting in their living room or in their kitchen or the family room wherever they are Holy Spirit I ask that you were moving their lives now in the precious name of Jesus father God in Jesus name we ask that you would let your perfect will be done that you will reveal yourself to them in the name of Jesus and father I wore for that woman of God who is struggling with depression and heaviness father in the spirit I come against every strong man that is attacking the minds even of the single women and others father I ask in Jesus name that they will pick up their weapons and that they will war in the spirit and that they will gain the victory in Jesus mighty name we thank you Lord that you have given unto us the victory now father I ask that you would dry every eye that you would cause that person that's been weeping and discouraged father that they will take on the hope today and let them know that you're still there that your jehova shamma your the God that is there your jehova rohi God L ro I you are our God that you remember God you're available to us so father I send the word now in the precious and the mighty name of Jesus bless your people bless the families bless the children their young people bless every person that is sitting in front of the screen make them aware God that you love them and that you have a great plan for
