and I had a word I was going to prayer sometimes and I will hear a phrase it's not audible but I hear it I hear it in my spirit and I heard this phrase and I built a message around this phrase a few weeks ago Hebrews chapter 4 verse 15 but we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities and I want to add here the word infirmities doesn't mean necessarily a sickness it means literally weaknesses but was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin I want to preach for the next few moments on how to forge an anti temptation armor how to forge an anti temptation armor I've got real good news for you you ready here's here's ready here we go news good news your temptation with Satan will end ready bad news when you're dead that's bad news but what I want to do is I want to share with you today Paul said the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God now we do deductions or implications sometimes from Scripture the implication there is Satan's weapons are carnal and I'll give you some verses here what the Bible says the word carnal is a word in the New Testament that in the Greek means the flesh now when we say the flesh we think it's the body the eyes the ears the nose the mouth thing what we call the entrances into the heart and the mind which is all a part of the five senses and it is and we also think of our flesh as this flesh and blood some of us are darker some of us are lighter some of us are larger some of us are thinner we'll go there and we think that this is flesh well it is but however in the New Testament when it talks about carnal or carnality it has reference to the desires that the flesh has contrary to God's Word or law that we call it the the Adamic nature the nature of fallen man the nature of sin and so this thing that's called carnal or carnality that is mentioned in the Bible is significant in what we're going to share with you in the next few moments because the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but the weapons of Satan's warfare are all carnal they all appeal to the nature contrary to the nature of God here's four verses for you Matthew 26:41 the Spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak John 6:63 it is the spirit that quickeneth but the flesh profiteth nothing open 7:18 for in my flesh dwelleth no good thing romans 8:7 the carnal mind is enmity against God I'm sorry if I'm laughing a bit I'm thinking of my favorite verse in the Bible my favorite verse in the Bible bodily exercise profiteth nothing so just on I tell you that while I'm talking about the flesh Paul put that in the Bible for me I have a Bowflex I get tired walking past it every morning at work so you need to know that now if we're going to talk about the weapons of our warfare I'm going to dig in a little bit with the idea of temptation or testing and I found this extremely interesting when you read the Bible in the English language and you see the word tempt or test we have an idea in English in our culture of what that means but there are times in the New Testament that there will be a word in English translated this way but if you go back to the original coin a Greek language that word is deeper that word has a depth to it I'd like to give you that right now concerning the word temptation if you take the word tempter or you take the word tempt in the Bible there's a common Greek word that is used for there and it's the word Perazzo a-rod's oh and this word is very interesting because it means to test an object it means to pierce something through with the intent of searching what is on the inside of it now temped is used in the King James translation 1611 translation 14 times and what this word Perazzo means is to search something inwardly to determine if it's good or bad on the inside it actually in classical Greek would refer to a vessel before it goes to market to check it out on the inside let's say it's clay to make sure it's going to hold you put your hand in there and you begin to press with pressure to make sure it doesn't break because you don't want it going to market breaking and somebody want their money back so this word Perazzo was to test something internally to see if it could withstand the pressure are y'all tracking now because this is the word used for tempting temptation or Tim this is one of the root words that is used for that so to tempt in the sense of how I'm presenting it to you from the Bible means to exploit the weakness that is in a person or thing then using the weakness as the weapon to cause the person to either fall or do that which they should not be doing now I wrote this down just about five minutes ago what the enemy attempts to do through tempting or testing and tempting is he attempts to break down your will then when the will is broken the weakness is exposed because as long as you have willpower and as long as you have willpower to resist something then the weakness does not emerge as long as you have the willpower to stand or say I'm not doing that oh yeah I'm not going there then the temptation loses its power over you but if you are weakened and the weakness comes out through the pressure this is how Satan is in any kind it doesn't matter what it is in any kind of temptation or testing notice this that Satan never hits us when we're strong because he knows it's not going to do any good but it says this that Jesus was tempted for forty days afterward he hungered and then the tempter came Matthew chapter four so the enemy came when Jesus was at his lowest weakest point to put the pressure on him so this should be something that we understand that this is how the enemy works through the temptation now the Bible tells us that these temptations and testings also bring another level and this is a whole other this is like a side effect of dealing with situations in life there's something known as strongholds and in 2nd Corinthians chapter 10 verses 4 through 5 it says this for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds now watch what happens casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ now a stronghold in Paul's day would have been a castle that is built along the coastline of maybe Spain or France or Morocco you know just on the coastline but it was built high on a cliff and they used to build these castles and fortresses and the Romans were masters at this by the way on the highest cliff so that if ships came in to attack the coast you would be so far above them that it would be difficult for you to even scale the walls or even attack the fortress and this was the way that they guarded the island was building the high places or the stone fortresses on top now these were known as the strongholds and so in order to defeat a stronghold because there were there were dramatic tribes and these wild people that took over the Roman Empire and many of them learned how that take a stronghold down but you have to get you have to go watch this now you have to get up for the stronghold is you have to get above the stronghold in order to bring the stronghold down and so the bible's tells you what a stronghold is the stronghold is imaginations mentioned two times and in this reference it mean it the imaginations are discussions casting down imagine the duck coming in my mind but actually he refers to discussions and I'll explain that in a moment the other place it's used is Romans 1:21 and that word means computations or reasonings now don't forget this in the setting of when this was written to the church at Corinth there's the Temple of Diana there with 1,000 prostitutes there's temples all over the Roman Empire there is false teaching coming around people are saying Jesus was an angel that he wasn't really God people say he wasn't God he was just a man so all of this is countering the Apostles doctrine and is creating havoc among new people coming into the church there were people preaching read it your Bible that Paul said some are preaching the resurrection has already passed that when Jesus raised those people from the dead in his resurrection that's the resurrection not going to be another one some of them were even saying the Lord had already come and Paul wrote and said we beseech you by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together unto him that you be not soon shaken in mind either troubled by letter or spirit from us that the day of the Lord's a hand see someone forged a letter in Paul's name to the church and said the day of the Lord already happened they'd all missed it and he says don't be shocked when somebody forges a letter in my name because it's not true the day of the Lord has not yet taken place and here's what's gonna happen for it takes place so here's my point the when you talk about having a stronghold in the setting of what Paul is saying the imaginations are discussions now how many of you know you discuss with your own self you go to work and you're in your mind your thinking and your reasoning and your thinking and the discussion see can become a stronghold your reasoning you're discussing why didn't Lauren was happening to me you you don't love me like you do other people say you're driving to work and in your mind reasonings are occurring that are building doubt in your heart or trying to pull the faith out of your spirit now when Paul talks about his reasonings he was debating adulterous teachers teaching false teaching against Christianity but he said you have got to pull down immediately the stronghold and someone said this years ago and I'm not the psychiatrist but I did stay at a Holiday Inn I've been with that help but no that's an advertisement in case you didn't know but but someone said that when you have a thought that you know you should not be thinking you have about three seconds to get it out of your head and the way you actually get it out of your head is not thinking just other thoughts because I want to tell you something about the enemy are you ready you'll never out think him we can't travel the speed of light he can we only can travel through the speed of thought and we don't even know we don't even know how to measure the speed of thought we can measure light we can measure the speed of sound that type of thing but the enemy has the ability in his realm to shoot a dart here's another dart here's another you ready for this you cannot out fake him but you can always out talking what do you mean by that have you ever said Satan I rebuke you and heard a voice say I'm not rebuking today Satan get behind me where do you want me to stand I'll do whatever you say you never hear your adversary audibly talk back but you can hear your voice in your own ears and receive it in your own spirit when you open up your mouth the way that Jesus did and said get thee behind me Satan so you cannot out thinking so if you're driving and all you're doing is thinking and thinking and reasoning and reasoning if you can go back and forth back and forth and back and forth all day long but the moment halleluyah you open up your mouth there's an authority that is released in the life of a covenant child of God when they begin to open their mouth now there's two levels of strongholds one is people strongholds and the other one I guess I could call this when I'm alone at strongholds now people's strongholds would be this 12 spies go into the promised land for 40 days come back with grapes tell everybody how great the land is but tend to them all they saw was walled cities and Giants and it's the funniest thing these 10 spies say but we just look like grasshoppers to these guys being they're so big we look like grasshoppers my question would be what giant did you interview to get that information from now think about it we do know that Caleb came back 40 years later to the same town in Hebron and ran three Giants off by just threatening them an 85 year old short June short Jew under six foot tall ran off three men they were probably 8 feet to 10 feet high and I don't know what he told him he may have said look I've got this mountain 40 years ago promised by God so you got 24 hours to get up or I'm going to take this great big stick and I will clobber you you know what Moses stick did don't you it opened up the Red Sea you know what Moses stick did don't you it produced nine plagues so if you don't want to die of a plague of em rods and hemorrhoids and locusts and all this other stuff and blood coming out of your head you better get out I don't know if that's what it said it sounds good preaching but those think about this they could have run the Giants off but nobody you know hey guys how do we look to you you look like grasshoppers to me oh god did you hear that he would look like grasshoppers let's get out they never interviewed a giant they just saw them but an imagination come on hey stronghold is built in their mind now they take that stronghold and verbally begin to talk it till they keep out all of those men out of the promised land I'm telling you if those other people would have known that 40 years they're gonna have to wonder they don't went ahead and killed those 10 spies and women Josh kanima take it away I don't know about you but there's nothing thrilling about getting up and looking at the same sand dune for 38 years hallelujah anyhow so that is a group stronghold here's what it means especially for young people especially we go to college and you're sitting down with a group of people who don't believe in God that you know one guy said you can't prove to me the Bible's true and this guy reached out there and grabbed his nose and squeezed it till it started bleeding he jumped up in a fight almost broke out and said why'd you do that for he said well the Bible says the ringing of the nose bringing forth blood there's your proof the Bible's true now this is important young people will have to go to a college and your professors stand up and tell them that God didn't create this stuff so you've got to choose now whether you're going to listen to a stronghold built in your mind to make you question your faith or you're going to say I know too much about this thing for you to convince me I'll go take your test and make aids and forget everything you told me when I leave this place I took of course I shouldn't even say this Oh help me I took a course from our college one time on evangelism and it was talking about don't have Church what not in half a spaghetti dinner and all that and I was I called Lujan I said brother Han and I was about 19 if you'll remember you might not remember this yeah I got stories on you you don't even remember I said this is not you have revival of my pray and you have revived by fast they said son learn the course make an A then forget it if you remember that it really happened floor it I'm not making this up like we're neck come from all right then there is the alone stronghold the alone stronghold is not like the ten spies the alone stronghold is when David is supposed to be at war and is at the wrong place at the wrong time with her own person he's not doing what he's supposed to do in that season and the Bible said he arose it Eventide well there you go he's sleeping in late all the men are gone a woman's bathing herself there everybody wants to give Bathsheba a bum rap for taking a bath on the roof but I want to explain something to you the men aren't supposed to be gone thank you all three of you women that understand what I'm saying secondly they collect rainwater in barrels in Jerusalem on the roof because there are no rivers there there's the Gihon spring but that's limited number three it says because she was purifying herself she had gone through her monthly period and the law of Moses said that after you finished your period you're supposed to take a bath and terrify yourself and make yourself ritually clean which David is really stupid now because that's when a woman could be pregnant it's like Michael son before he got delivered we didn't know he was doing it please call me up one morning three in the morning can you come outside mr. stone US and for what I said we got your son out there and my son some somebody at Harry's convenience store I have no respect for Harry's convenience store to cleave and I'll tell you publicly but somebody here his convenience store was a was a drunk man and he would buy beer for these underage kids and give them four of him and he'd take two and it's illegal he should have been arrested Harry should have got in trouble but Harry Harry didn't get in trouble okay so the point is my son hits a deer coming into the parking lot had been drinking thank God he doesn't do it now but he'd been drinking that's why I hate the stuff and so the policeman says well your son's been drinking we just checked his license he's underage so he's in serious trouble drinking underage but he didn't buy it somebody else did so that helped him a little bit but he's still in trouble and I said why'd he call you he said well he hit it near and called the police wait a minute let me get this right let me get this right he knows he shouldn't be out and he knows he shouldn't be drinking and he's underage that's wrong that's right but he he hit a deer yeah he was concerned that he hurt the deer and he calls the police didn't call me and call his mom mom I've hit a deer we'll meet you outside he calls yes sir and so you get here and what does he say he says I hit a deer I need to see if my car's hurt and then see if deers hurt and he's drinking so I said what does that mean he said he gets fine or goes to jail I said it's 3:30 in the morning take him to jail I said look not that it's funny now but that's the hardest thing I ever did in my life minutes if you ever have a child that gets messed up on drugs now called you have kids what kids would never do it if they know what it does to their parents if they love their prey they really wouldn't they they'd avoid that with everything but are you all still here tracking here so David though did a crazy thing that what was trying to say it's crazy thing so he knows she can get pregnant he takes her in and that is a one-on-one stronghold so your strongholds can come from one or two sources they can come by people influencing you with irrational thinking or with wrong thinking or with wrong reasoning and next thing you know you're doubting what you believe your whole life or they can come by individual struggles which leads me to number three the weakness now the Bible talks about infirmity it says there was a woman this is in Luke 13 that had a spirit of infirmity now though there's a word asthenia in the Greek language and it's a medical word and that word means weakness this woman that had the spirit of infirmity can translate as she had a spirit of weakness because she could not lift her body she was bowed over for many many many years and so this spirit of weakness is what the enemy wants to capitalize on now whether you want to admit this or not whether you want to admit this or not everybody in this building no matter how long you save has a trigger in your brain and certain things would trigger you to do things that you normally would choose not to do some of you have a past of alcoholism and you know you can't you can't hang around people even partying even likely some of you have had drug addictions you know there's notes there's certain people you can't be around because they're gonna offer you something some of you may have had a lot of immoral problems they before you got saved and if you were a guy you were at the strip clubs and you're with women or women in the past the same way and you know you can't be flirtatious you know you can't you can't do certain things because you know if you start acting a certain way then what's gonna happen is all these things will come back at you or you're gonna open a door to the enemy there are four types of weaknesses there is physical moral spiritual and emotional every one of them have their own effect a physical spirit of weakness affects you physically in your body and create sickness a spiritual weakness affects your spirit and can make your faith make you lose heart or lose faith and become faithless or weak spiritually a moral weakness can cause you to remain in a bondage that you cannot break and emotional weakness can be such things as grief and sorrow and I want to explain that for just a moment it is normal to grieve for a lost loved one who has gone to be with the Lord or has passed away but a friend of mine named Walter Hallam lost his 17 year old daughter in a plane crash if I'm not mistaken there were six people on the plane may have been seven but several of them survived but four of them died including his pilot they lost one engine and they lost the next engine it was a it was a mechanical failure and as when Walter lost that 17 year old daughter now imagine this in the plane crash he said that he realized that he was not just felt sorrowful that he lost her but he was grieving and God spoke to him and said Walter green is a spirit sorrow is normal you must fight grief because if you ever fight grief you'll fight it the rest of your life if it gets ahold of you or Roberts called him all Roberts had also lost a daughter in a plane crash they were warned to ski in Colorado I don't know what happened the fog was in and those Colorado mountains are 14,000 feet and they crashed into the side of a hill killed his daughter son-in-law and left him with three three grandbabies and oral said to Walter said Walter listen to me I've been through what you've been through do not let yourself get to grieving and number two never ask God why he said God spoke to me and said oral if you ask me why you're not gonna know till you get to be with me and if you ask me why you'll start asking why the rest of your life and it will drive you emotionally and mentally insane because you won't get an answer down here and Walter said he learned the difference between grief and sorrow that it's all right to have sorrow the Jews would even grieve for seven days total grieving and then they asked you to come out of that and move on with your life then every year at the death remember the person but don't go into extreme degree I think I'm talking to somebody here because it's a spirit so in other words a weak spirit emotionally can cause a person to go into something that in most of they have a hard time pulling themself out of now for a moment I want to focus on the temptations of Jesus since this is the theme of what we're talking about and Satan said to him in Luke 4 9 if you be the Son of God cast yourself down for it is written he will give his angels charge concerning and in their hands they shall bear thee up lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone let me talk about that one verse there were three things Satan tempted Jesus with this is one of them the pinnacle of the temple is where this happened having been to Israel 38 times I can tell you where that is it's where the eastern wall and the southern wall meet it was okay now this sounds so embellished I've tried to research this and study this but they claim if you dig all the way down to the Kidron Valley where it was in Jesus day because it's not the same level today and you go to the top of the pinnacle where it was in Jesus day y'all ready for this from the top to the bottom of the Kidron was over 450 feet a football field is 300 feet take a football field and add 150 more feet and when you're standing at the pinnacle at the top looking at the bottom of the Kidron Brook that's how I mean they Joe Cephas said it even made people dizzy that if you got up there it would make them dizzy just to look it's like looking into a canyon so Satan takes Jesus there and says this here's here's how its quoted in the Bible cast yourself down for it is written that means it's in Scripture that he will give his angels charge concerning thee and in their hands they will bear thee up lest at any time you dash your foot against the stone now the temptation there was jump and if you're God's Son God's gonna protect you he'll send angels to catch you and if he can catch you I'll be convinced in you heart are who you say you are now here's the point that I want to make he was actually tempting Jesus to commit suicide because it would be suicide for a man to jump 450 feet you'd never survive it now someone says well what does the Bible say well that by that verse that Satan quoted is in Psalms 91 but there is several words added that are not in the Hebrew in Psalms 91 let me give you psalms 91 basically English translation from the Hebrew he shall give his angels charge concerning thee and in their hands they shall bear thee up lest you dash your foot against the stone there was a version of the Bible that was made when they took the Hebrew and translated it to Greek it's called the Septuagint translation for some unknown reason the Septuagint translation adds these words lest at any time see what Satan is doing actually I know it's real interesting Jesus didn't start arguing translations with the devil come on somebody that's not an original Hebrew you added to the Word of God but the point is that Jesus knew that what God was saying is when you need protection supernaturally there's angels that can protect you but by adding at any time the implication would be why you can jump and he'll protect you do it do a backflip and see if you can land on your feet with the help of the angels so Jesus resisted what the enemy was doing knowing the intent of Scripture was not to just do your thing and act goofy and crazy go 120 miles an hour and see if you can drag strip and race the guy played chicken with him you understand what I'm saying you got to be old school to understand drag racing a chicken I can tell you you don't understand maybe they Tona people maybe closer toward that area there understand but I'm telling you that this is what Jesus had to deal with now I want to say this about Jesus three points number one mmm Satan could take him there but could not get Jesus to react when he got him there what does that mean Satan can take you to a place but it doesn't mean you're going to react the way he thinks what does it mean you will be tempted but it does not mean that he wants you to react a certain way but it doesn't mean you're going to react that way alright number two God puts the enemy Satan on a leash and God controls the leash I'll show you one nugget Satan says to God and Jill one Joey will curse you if you take the hedge down now watch what happens God says to Satan I'll take the hedge down but you can't take his life so while God takes one hedge down he sticks another hedge up are you are you tracking that's pretty cool cuz cuz here here's saying says okay I got him now I think Gus says no you can take his animals but so Satan comes back and says well he didn't curse but I tell you what he'll do affect his hell and God said alright you can affect his health but Julie taking his life so hitch comes down Satan thinks he's got it but hedges up because God won't let the devil even touch him physically hedge comes down physically but God says yeah go take his life and the whole time job lived through that trial for one reason God kept one hedge to prevent death from taking the man out and there wasn't the thing the enemy could do cuz you know what he was a barking dog on a leash he got it God would give him enough leash to go do something and he'd yank him back God give him enough leash to go do something for you dog lovers you understand that the cantilevers won't understand a thing I just said cuz cats aren't our least the third thing I want to tell you it's proven in the Ministry of Jesus Satan and this is really good for you to hear this that any attack that Satan has because I've been through things my whole life different things but any attacks Satan has is on a time limitation now I want you to think about what I'm about to tell you because this is interesting I thought about this one day there is something called patience that's a fruit of the Spirit and I am convinced when I read the Old Testament and knew that Satan does not have the patience to outlast your patience I've got meningitis I played football when I was a kid and I got meningitis and did a dumb thing I mean I actually had to dock my what mama worked for a Filipino doctor he says it's all the evidence in meningitis give him this medicine and tell him not to go to school at all and after three days I didn't even practice for football the game was on Thursday I took pain pills and acted like I was better and I wasn't I want to play so I play tied in and defensive in and I was going both ways and when that game was over I thought I was dying my head felt like needles that literally felt like my whole head was pins and needles and when I'd move it oh and mama said Perry are you are you okay you told me you were better I saw Obama I kind of I didn't lie because I was claiming to be better but it's how you get out of it so they took me I never will forget this they took me to a revival on Friday the next night and the vans I was I literally I'm 14 years old laying on the bench a 14 year old kid lanlan benches to be like one of these kids right here the only and they called me up prepped me and God healed me instantly now here's what's weird are you ready every third October third week of October this is really funny not funny but this is crazy every third week of October for the following years the symptoms would hit me again third week no matter where I was and I'd get that head thing and there's needles feeling I'm thinking oh my dear lord there's that this thing trying to come back on me and I'd have to battle it and I have to battle through it like sometimes a hold and finally watch what happens I start getting in the word really heavy and then it hit me 1 October we're talking about several years later and I'm a teenager and I'm starting to the ministry and I said to myself I said Satan I want to tell you something and I'm going to talk to you I may not have been talking to the devil he may be a million miles from here but I'm gonna tell you talk to you anyway now if you want to keep this on me you're gonna get tortured by Scripture because here's what I'm about to do in about 30 minutes I'm getting in the shower in between now and then and in the shower I'm gonna quote every healing scripture against you I can find with my mouth so if you want to just be tortured with the word you can keep this on me because I've al I'm gonna torture you with the word and that's I said it I had never heard nobody told me to pray like that and I start screaming out scriptures I've got me and the neighbors probably thought the you know terrorists had come in the house or something and I mean I took a shower this is the God's truth when I got out of the shower all pain was going it's like everything went down the drain do you know I was about 18 17 or 18 when that happened and I'm going on 60 and never came back on me again but I will tell you this I will tell you this every third weekend in October something happens again Tennessee plays Alabama lord help us Jesus every third week of October tear the Lord and that Devil tries to come y'all pardon me for you the longer I've been preaching I get a little bit goofy so they're rare with me okay this is important we're talking about the testing the enemy can take you there but cannot predetermine the action that you will make so we know that pedroso is only used for satan testing you to try to pull what is in you that could be wrong out of you to make you do that which is hidden in you does this make sense to everybody we see that jesus when he wanted to deal with the enemy and and i probably have a little bit about this later but i'll go ahead and bring this out now he uses the scripture when dealing with the enemy but let's ask ourselves this question what is the purpose of causing you to be tempted to fall now I'm going to give you the biblical explanation there is a verse in 1st John 3 20 through 22 and this hit me one day so strong if our hearts condemn us not God is greater than our heart and knows all things beloved four hearts condemn us not then we have confidence toward God that whatever we ask we receive of him because we keep his Commandments and we do the things that he says now I'm going to give you two words condemn and shame the word condemn in Greek means against what you know it means to do something against what you know in other words it says don't do it you do it what what it does is if a person is a child of God it'll bring a sense of guilt or condemnation to lead you to repentance God does not allow guilt and condemnation to come to tell you how wicked and bad you are God's sense of condemnation is too lead to repentance now let me say something to you I hear preachers preach today and they try to preach all guilt and condemnation out like don't you ever if you do something wrong don't you ever feel bad about it don't you don't you ever let the devil beat you up no wait a minute anything devil beaten you up conviction is of the Holy Spirit now can I tell you what would frighten me and I'm really serious it would frighten me if I could do something wrong I know it's wrong and not feel bad because you ready for this verse I'm giving everyone because the Bible says as many as he loves he chastises so the chastisement that means gonna take a stick and beat you to death you know under subjection that chastisement comes through the feeling you get of knowing you do it's like a kid you can make you know you know how to wreck a kid today and discipline the kid I'm gonna tell you how to do it take their phone you ain't never you know got one kid I saw I saw it one kid cried was on his knees saying whipped me with a belt but don't take my phone see ya to it to a young person that's the ultimate chastisement for us conviction is not bad because it shows we're still a child of God now you wouldn't you want the other King James translation to the Perry stone mild translation to this for those he does not chastise are illegitimate now there's another word used we won't use that word it's no King James word but we won't use that word because offense some people but it's it's it means illegitimate meaning if we can go out and this is what bothers me about a lot of the so-called christians sitting in church is because watch this now they go out and do the things they did when they were sinners and they never get convicted so I'm saying to myself do you really have an experience or is what you're doing a social club of just hanging out and hearing some good music every Sunday morning with flashing lights I'm serious because this were wrecked so but let's take conviction out and let's put the word condemnation in conviction is hub the Holy Spirit but condemnation that remains on you is from the adversary here's the reason why the feeling of condemnation comes to you because of the sense of guilt that you've not dealt with beside again it comes because of the sense of guilt that you've not dealt with because the way you get guilt is to go under the blood and you have to know when you're been free listen you can't be any more forgiving than when you're forgiven if you're sincere and you say God I'm stupid why not work Lord just what keep me under the blood I am sorry god help me not do that again alright when you do that God touches you at that point then there's no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus don't don't leave the verse there who walk not after the flesh but after their spirit so why does the enemy want you off to feel condemned because if your heart is condemned you have no confidence in your prayers that's the Bible and when you have no confidence in your prayers you'll come to pray and you won't feel like gods hearing you you won't feel like God cares about you you won't feel like God answers you now the second thing the enemy produces through testing is shame and this is interesting this word means it's really odd it means to disfigure or to disgrace and it actually refers to disfiguring the image of God that is in you see if you've ever noticed people that are heavy and alcohol they have a different personality when they're on it than when they're not people their own drugs have a different personality when my son I don't I really don't like using him as an example but it's so personal to Pamina well my son was in complete bondage for nine years he would come to me and I would try to say something to him son we'll send you to a place to get help I don't need no help and I knew you can't talk to them when they're addicted you can't it's really true to try to talk common sense it doesn't go it goes right over the head only if they're near a crisis or they've come to death they're about to go to prison sometimes do they pay attention but there was time he got real sassy with me now let me say this my dad would have taken a belt and put stripes on me but if you do that now your kids are going to be taken from you by the social services now that's just how it is we're in a different culture but we survived many stars and stripes I went to gym you talk about embarrassed I went to gym and had to do gym you know what Jim was right y'all still with me with stripes on my legs and had to take showers with stripes on my legs you talk about humiliating and there was a spell I hated my dad he said one time this is gonna hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you and I said well let's change places and then I did the old I did the old 3-tier underwear trick everybody did that I was gonna get a whipping I locked the door and I got put on ten pair of underwear I said don't whip me on the legs dad don't with me I'm not promising you nothing don't hit me on the legs and then he whipped me right where he supposed to hit me and I didn't feel a thing any walk that didn't last very long how many been there helped me feel better because I want to wonder you were so old school people don't even know what you're talking about anymore when you talk about this kind of stuff now going back to this I found out that what my son did it brought shame to him because and he didn't talk about the shame but it brought shame because it disfigured who he was and there was times he would talk to me and he'd be high as a kite and I'd say he'd be sesame I said I'm talking to that kid that's not my boy talking you're a loser Oh No Name that's some old crazy spirit just got ahold of you now I'm going to talk to the king in you pay attention there's no King in me oh yeah there is he gonna come out one day I used to drive him nuts talking to him like that I said send another thing you can do there you know thing you can do to make me not love you nothing he saw you're just lying he said I embarrass you I said oh you don't embarrass yeah people in this town know what I am and people probably talk back I said I could give a rip but people think I said you're more important to me than the opinion of a bunch of people in Cleveland Tennessee and it took it took a while but I got to tell you the funniest story I just did a book called and now it can be told it's gonna be about that thick color pictures nobody's ever seen for our anniversary coming up we're gonna do about 10,000 copies and I believe Pam I believe I put this in here Jonathan again was he was addicted we didn't know found out about trying to help him and I go up to his bedroom one time knock on door here come in and he's laying on the bed and I and then I said I'm gonna pray for you and I just just I plopped on the bed and I just start praying and he's listening I said okay at least he's listening and then I start singing in the Holy Ghost and he's over there going yeah way yeah and I'm singing he's repeating what I'm singing I'm thinking wow God's doing something God's doing something and and he he's getting real spiritual on me now hey he's asking me spiritual question and I'm praying in the Holy Ghost ah I'm thinking so this went over like 30 minutes I think this is wonderful men God's turn some and go get Pam alright and Pam I said honey you got to see this the boys getting a breakthrough means upstairs you won't believe it he's just he's praying and singing she said okay let's go see so she walks in and goes oh god he's been smoking pot he got some grass from somebody in town been smoking out I never smoked the stuff so I wouldn't know you know I said Jonathan have you been smoking dope Oh dad only a little bit man but he said it makes me spiritual I felt like saying hey go get me some well you know if it does that tell you but I found out I found out something even from my son and that is this that even though they they are in a bondage there's a part of them honest and trust me that did not want to be there and they don't want to be that way so the reason I'm bringing this up to you is the enemy wants to put you under condemnation and he wants to put you under shame now watch carefully I'm going to go through this quickly because I know we're in a little time limitation the anti temptation weapons begin with number one casting down imaginations bringing into captivity every thought now that word bring into captivity meant to take a spear and take the prisoner from the castle that held up at the castle and force them out of the castle by the point of the spear it is a very strong Roman military imagery so casting down imaginations it's not like lord I just ask you that we rebuke this right now in Jesus name hallelujah this is aggressive intercession this is loud Prague this is strong rebuking so to cast it down is not passive that's my point its aggressive speaking number two and you all know this in the Old Testament battles god sent angels and armies to win in the New Testament he sinned the word Jesus uses the Bible and quotes it let me give you this when Satan said command the stones to be made bread Jesus says man cannot live by bread alone that's in Deuteronomy 8:3 when Satan said jump from the pinnacle of the temple Jesus said you'll not tempt the Lord your God that is quoted from Deuteronomy chapter 6 verse 16 when Satan one of Jesus to bow and worship in him and Jesus said you will worship the Lord thy God only in Him will you serve is in Deuteronomy chapter 6 and verse 17 now once you notice something this is real this may be the most important little nugget I'm gonna give you when Satan hid Jesus with a certain thought Jesus found the verse that matched it all right now don't I've always told people you got to be careful playing scripture roulette scriptural lettuce Oh God I need a word any word God I'm gonna sew my Bible and wherever it lands it's gonna be the verse have you know that 95% of times it does not work you know some kids some guys suicidal god I need a word he opens the Bible scriptural and Judas hung himself then you go to another verse that says go they'll do likewise you know that's why that's why you don't play scripture roulette why did he do it well he said it was in the Bible you know you gotta be careful with stuff like that but the point is that you've got to take what every let's say let's say if I'm battling a real sickness then I will go to Isaiah 53 and I'll take that verse with his stripes I'm healed where I see it every morning on the refrigerator I see it in the bathroom see I had a mayor friend of mine a mayor friend and in fact he is the mayor of a huge racetrack it's one of the biggest yearly race races and I'm not gonna tell you where it is you'll probably figure it out it's not down here so figure it out but he was the mayor of a city and he was a Christian brother and there were people that didn't like him being a Christian and they started literal lot you remember this son they started lies they gave me the key of the city they started lies on him and his wife was this Holy Ghost field better not mess with nobody in my family kind of woman and she took versus the mouths of those who lie shall be stopped and she start posting verses she put him in his shoes on pieces of paper he said I when I pulled my visor down there's the verse when I get up in the morning in the open the refrigerator she have a something want an egg carton down there it is the verse she said she literally took every verse against my enemies not to retaliate against them but for God to give me victory and do you know they took it to the city and they cleared him totally and completely and showed those people were lying and he took the Bible I feel the anointing right now for somebody he took the Bible that and the verse that was intended to attack him and he found a verse where David had been attacked like that and said hey if it's good enough for David it's good enough for me amen so that's number three is you've got to use the word because the word is a living thing the word is alive number three and this is a good one this this right here is really what I'm about to say it's important this is a prayer that we should pray that 95% of the Christians don't the Lord's Prayer every Thursday we have live prayer you can actually go on the internet and watch at OCI ministries dot org of Perry stone dot or gonna click on live prayer 6 o'clock to 7 o'clock every Thursday night is live prayer and both the fire of God is working in the power of God is moving and I we pray the Lord's Prayer before we start praying traditionally and we've been doing it for nine years my dad did it every time he prayed the first thing he prayed was Lord's Prayer now in the Lord's Prayer it says this now check this out and this is what you're supposed to pray lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil now we are supposed to according to Jesus have a pattern of Prayer and every day and give us this day our daily bread well you know everybody wants our daily bread what about the other one my point is that the third armor is to pray this prayer and say to the Father father in the prayer that Christ taught us you told me to pray to lead me not into temptation but deliver me from all evil and I don't just want to pray it when I feel pressure I want to pray it all the time don't you think it's better to have your armor on when the dart flies then try to put the armor on when the darts hit you the second prayer is first Corinthians 10:13 now that one's in Matthew 6:13 the second prayers first Corinthians 10:13 he will not suffer me to be tested above what I'm able but will with it make a way of escape so the second prayer you pray first is don't lead us into there but God if I'm in it if I'm in something then deliver me father and help me to make a way of escape in it number three the high is Hebrews 4:15 which is a great verse it says this we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but was in all points tipping as you and I yet with that sin when you approach the Lord never think when you pray to Jesus this is really important for everybody here never think well he just don't understand what I'm going through because your Bible says every temptation common to man he went through it but yet did not yield to it let me give you a nugget I'm almost done this is what God had to send Jesus in the flesh if God would have sent Jesus as only deity and he'd have purchased our Redemption we would have had a god that doesn't understand what it is to live in a fleshly body so we're praying to him about something in the flesh that he knows nothing about because he's spirit God sends Jesus and says every test of every kind that anybody will ever go through I'm gonna let you feel it so when they pray and say Oh High Priest of heaven I am going through depression I am I feel so oppressed Isaiah said he was oppressed he was afflicted but oh god nobody loves me I feel so rejected listen to what it says about him he was despised and rejected of me and so you feel rejected you tell your high priest just God I'm the only one out here and Jesus a I know what that's like they all left me hanging on the cross I know what that's like I know what it's like to be by myself I know what it's like to I look I know you're looking a peristyle I know what it's like in high school 10th 11th 12th meant in a public school to be the only kid in school that's safe carrying a Bible getting pushed on lockers brohan remembers this getting pushed against lockers getting shoved and called Holy Roller getting called every name in the book one guy hit me one time and I went back to dad and said what am I supposed to do will you turn the other cheek I said now if I hits me once and I turned the other cheek then what do I do God got dad's son the Bible don't say I guess your deck him so I went back to school and told that guy I'll hit you hit me once you hit me twice by cheating me a third time I'm gonna jack your job and one time they're all up there acting that like they're gonna beat me up and I said listen man what's wrong with you I said you ain't read the Bible have you know what you talking about he's I said you ever read that Samson it says the Spirit of God came on him he took a job on the van ass and he killed a thousand men I got that same spirit on my side my hands oh god you better get out of like man they ran and got away like you have never seen your life come on sometimes you gotta fake a devil out talk to your neighbor say fake a devil out fake a devil out fake a devil out finally my brethren the anti temptation armor is two specific pieces now we know the sword of the Spirit Jesus used that but the helmet of salvation guards the mind to watch what gets in the mind the breastplate of righteousness guards the heart to watch what gets in the heart I would suggest three things number one do not put yourself in a position of anything that you can't handle because are you gonna do is just you're just gonna torture yourself okay and if there's certain places you can't work and you say you know I couldn't work in that environment pray for another job no words don't push it you see when we hire I have to say this in Spain is here but when we hire anybody she's the final say so who comes the ministry because she can discern people okay we try to hire all of our girls that are married are solid have solid husbands have been serving God for years godly men and so we try to be careful not to put anyone there in an environment where somebody's gonna come in and complaining all the time and they're down all the time because if if one person comes in having problems they start pulling everybody else down with them all right number two is don't put yourself in a place where you were once weak if a certain place or thing you did was created weakness in you don't put yourself in it you just have to say to people that's fine I look and you know they said I'm not on a hobby horse but I don't drink any alcohol but I've sat with people that I had to sit with businesses and they're ordering it and they would say to me would you like a drink and I simply say no I don't drink I'm not trying to be better than anybody I just don't and I won't compromise that one guy looked at me said well that coca-cola over there wow this is healthier for you than that coca-cola your buddy's drinking over there I said funny thing he has never saw anybody get killed by a drunk coca-cola drinker I mean I never saw breaking news man drink a liter of coke and ended up in a wreck you know what I'm saying it's just the guys that looked at me start laughing oh my god your trip but my point is when you have conviction whatever it might be hold onto your conviction if it's a conviction God gave you sometimes men will try to place tough on you and it's not a real convey but if it's a conviction just stick with it and live with it I told somebody the other day I said I have lived this rock this long and preached for to two years being a certain way and it's worked I think I'll just finish my race being just the way I've always been come on somebody understand what I'm saying no sense in trying to change now to appease a handful of people all right all right all right all right now I will conclude there's two stories I could tell in conclusion but I want to tell you this one I am friends with I haven't seen him in a while with Joel Osteen's sister April and her husband Gary who passed her in Dallas Texas and they are III start preaching for Gary when in fact when when dad Osteen died most people thought Gary would get the church and they voted Joel in which was exactly the right choice so they have a church in Dallas in April who is Joel sister tells me this story we were at lunch she said my daddy and if you don't know who I'm talking about this is John Osteen dad who started Lakewood when it was in the middle building downtown rough by the way rough brother Han do you remember this I was preaching for you in Houston we go to that church and brother Hans walking in no carpet on the floor metal folding chairs some guy sitting in the middle so strumming to get to our 2,000 people are there and brother the hot looks at me and says breaks every Church growth rule I've ever studied metal building bad part of town no carpet sitting in middle seats and they're running thousands you know it was fun we met brother Osteen that day if you'll remember he gave us a bunch of books all right so dad Osteen taught his kids something and I thought this is pretty cool he said no when you get up in the morning get in front of a mirror when you're getting dressed and say out loud today I put on the armor of God in the jaw you know if you want to know where Joel says this is my Bible that got it from his dad because his dad was really big and confessed the word you got to say the word he said standing from the mirror saying now today I put on the helmet of salvation to guard my mind I put on the shield of faith and they would go through the whole armor of Ephesians 6 and apply it now did an angel come down and slap something on him no but God heard their words that's point now check this out she she got up that morning not April but her sister is working at John's office in Lakewood and she goes that morning to get an outfit on and the Lord and she says I don't even have time to pray that prayer I don't have time to print God forgive me I don't have time to pray that prayer and the Lord checked her and says you prayed it every day don't miss it today so she goes back in front of the mirror and he says today I put it she goes to it okay it takes the time to go through she goes into her closet and it's kind of hot out of course in that area and the Lord says take that fool leather fit and we're leather today and she hears the Lord she says oh that's got to be me that's the craziest idea he said no and she could not leave her closet till she had this it's a full leather outfit real thick leather and she's gonna work inside her office with another outfit on that morning they brought her a pack the packages and she would go through the mail she was opening the mail and a pipe bomb went off somebody sent a pipe bomb a few remembers couple years ago they sent it it was one guy he sent one to Oklahoma - or Rock - I think it was Roberts and that there was four pipe bombs in them they state left they stopped one in Clinton Chattanooga which is where my mill comes still in I'm thinking whew hope not but never knew who it was for when it blew up it blew the arms of the chairs out now check this out and all the screws and nails and spikes went into her dress very few minor injuries at all and she stands out with the chair arms blown out hurt no she had been opening it and it's had it on her lap and it blew up and he what I'm saying the leather was so thick that she had on if she de had a thin normal summer dress on it would have tore her to pieces maybe even killed her now that's why you put on the armor that's why you do it [Applause] let's let's let's bow our heads and if you don't mind I know we have we have some time here but this is very important so bow your heads let me ask a question two little questions I want to ask this congregation how many of you are in the under the sound of my voice has heard this message that right now spiritually you're at a low point spiritually you know you're not where you have been in the past spiritually you're just about as low spiritually as you've ever been and you need a restoration from God and you know it would you raise your hand and hold it up and let brother stone see it thank you right here sister up in the balcony see that hand right there let's see here's a brother here anybody in the middle section up here right here thank you dear anybody over here yes thank you sister thank you brother right over here anybody else anybody bless you bless you I'm just at a low point spirits let me ask a second question how many of you that are here and you got it you got you know we can't get help unless we admit I mean God knows it but he wants us to see our own situation how many of you have been under very severe testing of some kind that is almost become unbearable for you put your hands up of it see all right let's move the pulpit out of the way because I still believe in altar calls and I believe in ministering to people in the altars we do you a disservice we do you a disservice if we just say god bless you and we dismiss you because prayer and laying on of hands and coming into agreement is it the law of the scripture that gets things done now here's what we're going to do anyone that lifted your hands at either one of those times would you come to the front right now invite you to come up here stand right across the front we're going to start praying we're going to have a prayer team to pray with you and we're going to ask God to send to sin restoration and relief to ours restoration and relief to your life today would you come right now thank you so much god bless you lord thank you for the people thank you for the
