blessed and encouraged and now here is your host and teacher perry stone well i picked a very unusual title you know my staff tells me that you're a title person and i really am whether it's a title for a a book or a teaching and here's what's interesting when i get a thought like let's say a subject thought or we would say a title thought then it's like i just can build what i feel in my spirit around that particular thought and so this is one that's going to help a lot of people now i do know a lot of you enjoy the prophetic teaching and we've got a lot of that coming in in the future we've got a whole series on the united states coming up down the road so look you're going to get overloaded in the prophetic word because there's a lot to talk about but we've got to also get people practically lined up the way they should be in these times with the lord so we've called this why has god left you hanging now hanging is a tennessee word so let's do it properly why has the lord left you hanging and what do i mean by that here's what i mean by that why is it there are times when you pursue something and you see something and you go in that direction and you're right there and it just seems to get stuck nothing flows forward nothing is opening up the bank doesn't give you the loan the family you're working with is no longer working with you everything everything gets put on hold so we're going to discuss this today now can i say something to all you good christians and whether your baptist methods catholic pentecost presbyterian messianic you know whatever you are there's three areas that we christians are having difficulty with and have had difficulty with since the beginning all right first of all ready difficulty controlling our tongue and of course james chapter 3 gives this whole teaching on the danger of a tongue uh words actually that can set on fire the course of nature listen words bring peace or war words bring love or hate words bring joy or depression words are powerful i mean whoever said sticks and stones may break my bones but words were never hurt me had to be deaf and not be able to physically hear words because that's not true sixth and sticks and stones will break your bones and words will cut you in your spirit if they're the wrong kind of words so the first problem we have is controlling our tongue the second problem we have ready is controlling our appetites and you guys know this as well as i do and i hope no one gets offended if we sharing this with you it's actually quite funny but when we grew up we grew up in a full gospel denomination and we had a lot of what was called practical instruction or practical teaching of things you did not do and i won't go into all that you know that's that's for that particular time frame but i remember that we couldn't do this and couldn't do this and couldn't do this and couldn't do this but there's two things we could do talk and eat and please don't take this wrong but you could see some of our ministers you could tell they liked to do the latter and uh so people were always talking about i need to lose 20 pounds i need to lose 30 pounds well we know how to lose it control your appetite but can i tell you something at times especially when you're locked in with covert that's the hardest thing in the world to do because you're like a rabbit you're always going to the refrigerator grazing just grazing all the time and pam i'm going to make a confession right here my wife will tell you i might be one of the worst people in the world to do that because if we're watching a program together let's say a movie every commercial i get up and go and open the refrigerator don't always eat anything and close it what are you doing i'm just looking i think i got that from my granddad baby years ago third thing is our biggest problem i think it's a challenge i won't call it a problem it's a challenge is learning how to wait upon the lord or how to have patience to endure until the answer comes or the situation changes now we must at times and the bible makes this clear there are times that we absolutely have to wait for an answer to prayer to physically visibly manifest on the earth there's times we just absolutely have to do it now in luke chapter 18 there was a woman who was a widow woman and she went before a judge and he would not listen to her we don't know why maybe he thought she was poor her case was not important maybe he didn't like her we don't know why but she was persistent persistent persistent and finally the judge said if i don't do something with her she's going to drive me crazy it's stone's unauthorized version there not the king james stone's unauthorized version and that's basically what is what he said he and so the bible says this uh god will and this in the context here he's jesus is dealing with prayers approaching god and prayers being heard and answered god will answer though he bears long with you and that word long means long-spirited or we would say patient although you although it seems like you have to have patience although it seems like it's a long time before this answer is coming god is still there and even though it will be long he you will eventually receive what you need from him then in luke 8 8 18 it says i'm sorry i'm sorry in that parable of luke 18 8 had it backwards there which is a common theme with me reversing the numbers when the son of man comes will he find faith on the earth and what that means is that when christ returns it appears he's implying that there's going to be a faith shortage that people are just not going to have the faith that they should have so in here here's here's basically when it comes to prayer three options of three answers ready yes no later somebody at home needs to say that with me yes no and later what do i mean by that i pray prayers and god says yes and you have a clearance in your spirit to move forward i pray prayers and god says no what does that mean you get a check in your spirit something's not right you can't go that direction at this time you can't move in that direction and then the other answer is later and later means okay we're going to do it but this is not the time the example i give to that is when moses did miriam who was moses sister did something that she should not do and god gave her leprosy and moses screamed out oh god heal her now and god said no if she'd spit in her father's face she'd been penalized seven days so she's got to have go she's got to have leprosy for seven days then we'll heal her so it was not that god was not going to answer moses prayer to bring a healing to his sister but it would be delayed a period of seven days so that the fulfillment of her punishment or we would say she would learn a lesson would occur and would take place now i want to show you just from just from some scripture why i believe there are several examples in the bible indicating to us why that there is always a reason why god puts you on hold or god seems to delay things now in the book of genesis chapter 5 and verse i think it's verse 32 noah who is going to be the builder of the ark has three sons shem ham and japhet and the bible says when he was 500 they were born which means they were triplets god bless sister noah on that one so there's triplets now the flood the ark is completed and the flood comes in the 600th year of noah's life and that's genesis 7 verse 11. so 500 years when the three sons are born they grow up helping to build the ark no doubt they have a hundred years of building the ark all right now the ark is ready the animals are in god comes in and is going to shut the door but he says this to noah the lord says yet for seven days that will cause it to rain upon the earth now that's in genesis chapter seven verse four why does god delay the flood coming for seven days and i researched this for years because i didn't understand this because i said okay wait a minute is he keeping the door open so that more people can get in more people would have an opportunity the answer was not that because they were mocking him nobody believed but he and his family and one other person who had just not i'll tell you about him in a minute that the flood was coming the reason the door was open for seven days and there was a delay in the judgment that's my point a delay in the judgment seven days is because of methuselah methuselah was noah's great-great-grandfather and his name can be interpreted when he dies it will come when he dies you will be thrust into it meaning his death will initiate the flood all right so he dies when the ark is actually finished and the animals are in and then god says you know what we're going to honor him we're not going to let his body just be out there with the rest of these people who are going to die and these corpses floating on the water they buried him they mourned him for seven days and then they go in the ark and the flood comes so my point is the judgment did not come at the moment he died the judgment comes seven days came seven days after he died because there was a purpose for the delay and it was to bury and honor methuselah now i'm gonna give you two more examples don't keep tracking with me here now follow the line of thinking i've got here we come to the time of abraham and we find out that abraham and this is all in the book of genesis at age 75 is in the land of irv chaldea and he has promised that he's going to be given a nation in order to start a nation you have to have at least one son so god moves him from the earth county to the to canaan land or what we call the promised land and sarah his wife is with him and perhaps they tried for 11 years for her to get pregnant and nothing happened at 86 years of age 11 years later god is still telling abraham he's going to have a son so he assumes it must be through someone else so he hey hey hagar who is sarah's handmaiden sarah gives abraham permission to have a child kind of like a surrogate mother type thing through hagar and he gives she gives birth to ishmael so ishmael becomes a son of abraham not through sarah but through hagar then god waits another 10 years he's 96 and nothing has happened and it gets 99 years of age and god says now your son's coming at age 100 and sarah at age 90 they have their son who is the covenant promised son whose name is isaac now here's my question why didn't god give it to him when he was 75. if god would have given him the son at 75 the whole hagar ishmael incident would have never occurred and there may have been more peace in the middle east i don't know but it could have been if that event had not occurred because it was a family feud and has been here's the answer why and i'm just going to abbreviate this and get right down to the point the reason the bible says is in genesis chapter 18 11 and sarah ceased to be after the manner of women sarah got to the point at age 89 where she not only is barren she's already gone through menopause making it impossible to have a son so the birth of isaac had to be more than a barren woman sarah giving birth to a son it had to be a miracle it had to be looked at and viewed as a complete and total miracle of god almighty so that in this situation ladies and gentlemen in this situation it would be viewed as this is a miracle baby and so that is the reason why that is the reason why that this happened the way that it did now let me just give you one more example real quick joseph joseph has two dreams one is bowing to grain and the other i'm sorry that the grain is bowing to him and another one in which the constellations of the heaven which would be there would be 11 constellations his would be number 12 bowing before him his father joseph interprets i'm sorry not joseph jacob interprets the dream to joseph and says shall me and your mother and brethren bow down before you now the father has interpreted the dream that his family will one day bow before him but what i think threw the father off was the mother had already died so how can the mother bow the son is the dad the moon is the mother and the eleven constellations are his brothers that's understandable but the mother is dead so how can she bow so i think the dad didn't fully understand the dream but here's my point he he he gets thrown in a pit joseph gets sold to the ishmaelites he is purchased by potiphar as a servant his wife accuses him falsely of adultery he goes to prison for 13 years oh what a life everything bad that could happen is beginning to happen so what happened watch this so what happens to your dream dreamer when everything you've dreamed and talked about that god is going to do is not happening for 13 years zero zilch blackboard is erased nothing is happening the answer is the timing of god because there was going to come a famine and god knew this that was going to last seven years in which the the israelites and it was at that time a small family but you had you had jacob his sons and their children that were going to die in a famine and all the promises of god would have died with them all the abrahamic promises all the covenant promises would have died had joseph not gone to egypt brought the family and saved them and thus fulfilled a prophecy given to abraham in genesis chapter 15 and the point is he had to be in egypt for the famine he had to be preserved in the time of the famine he had to preserve the nation of israel he had to be able to interpret dreams my point is all of it came together when the timing of god was exactly where it should be psalms 81-5 says he ordained joseph as a testimony and then psalms 105 19 says he was put in prison until his word came in other words till his word came to him now i'm going to give you a couple unusual stories here to help illustrate this i love sharing when i'm teaching like this i love to share the stories more than that you know with the conference it's word word word studies greek hebrew and all that history but this is a little different uh several years ago i was looking at some property and it opened up it was 480 acres beautiful home uh let's see one two seven lakes or whatever and so uh we went to the board took the board out there and as we got into purchasing this there were some issues that came up and so we had to back away from it at the same time i was working on our property on building two big dormitories and i was going to build something that looked like a a railroad kind of like the railroad depot and it was going to be all with young people and so on it would eventually be the first phase of a camp as i was planning this i came to the month of november and the lord gave me a revelation he said i want you to stop everything you're doing because something something's off i want you to stop everything you're doing something's off and i thought something's off what does that mean so i just told the builder we got to put it on hold i put literally everything on hold lo and behold covet hit in march and april everything shifted and because we put everything on hold it would have it would have cost us millions of dollars for the property and for the buildings and although my intention was good of what i wanted to do was good it just was not the right thing make a long story short there was something we had looked at for 10 years it's a beautiful piece of property and we found out that we got there too late because somebody had already put down a contract on it the owners had said for years we believe you will use this uh either for another ministry to have something with youth or it'll be youth gatherings and huge bonfires and riding horse you know the horses and there's house and apartments there we believe that you you could use this well we were late getting there so we prayed so we went to the house and looked at the property one more time and the wife who is a wonderful spiritual christian said i may have jumped the gun by offering this and putting it on the market because we had 16 no i'm sorry 11 calls from california texas washington dc big cities of people looking into this property because a lot of people are leaving the cities tennis my county is number 11 in the whole united states for people moving here in the whole united states and i'm not going to tell you all the details why someone said please slow down because you can't hardly find a house available now it's it's so crazy so anyway uh we prayed and at midnight a couple that had the contract canceled the contract we actually believe it was a miracle it was full force ahead they were interested they were one i mean i got when the guy gave me the call and said it's now available for your ministry to get it i was blown away because we've been looking at this for like eight to ten years now here let's stop it's timing now let me let me say say this to some of you there are those of you that are watching me right now that you you see things in the spirit you want to plan things and you want to do things and every time you go to open a door or you go to do it it it falls apart listen to me very carefully the footsteps of a good person are ordered by the lord when what you're attempting to do is not flowing back up from it i have an old saying if it don't flow i don't go i have been invited for example to preach in great churches and i would say well we're pretty i would tell the lady who books my meetings you know we're pretty busy but i just don't feel at this time just tell them we'll get back with them later we'll try to come later and it would be two years and i'd get up one morning and bam like that i'd say i need to go to that city and preach and we would later find out for example that at the time that we would have come they were they were on the edge of a controversy with their staff or a church split or something of that nature that would have hindered the meeting they made it through that in those two years or three years whatever the case may have been and now they were having great results and you know great outpouring of the holy spirit many people touched by the spirit of god took place and so when we're planning something i remember in this town when i was looking for property to build this building on when the lord said build me a gathering place for a generation and we looked at property and we had a cell up and it just kind of fell through we had people looking all over town and there was a man i won't name him because he may not appreciate me naming him on tv without his permission but he owned this property right next door to us right next to where i'm sitting and we bought that property we built the omega center international as many of you know omega center international has become ramp cleveland karen wheaton's ministry is uh heading this up and it's a wonderful thing it's not just young people it's people of all ages tuesday night service and then we have our conferences here i preach the first tuesday night of every month i do the revival of the lens of a camera at the end of every month at iso and we're seeing wonderful things that god is doing a lot of new people are coming a lot of people that are moving to the county are coming to the services here and we're very grateful for that but my point is we built it at the right location which was located right next door now if we'd have built it the other way we'd have had our offices here and we'd had to drive to the other location every time we wanted to do something some of the the the fact is this that god has a timing on things and it's very important that you understand this now here's what you have to watch out for now i'm running out of time i'm going to give these to you quickly deuteronomy 1 27 be careful of murmuring because god hears your murmuring and it displeases him and israel went in circles for 40 years because of their murmuring first samuel 17 israel was faithless and because they were faithless they couldn't get their battle out of the valley of the lot with goliath and the philistines and they were stuck for 40 days till david showed up so be careful with faithlessness in matthew 13 38 jesus in nazareth could do no mighty miracles because of their unbelief so you've got to be careful not falling into unbelief so stay away from murmuring faithlessness and unbelief and focus on god let me say it this way trust god when it looks like you're hanging on just keep hanging on and if god wants to shift or transition do it but listen if it doesn't look like it's flowing you can't force your way i'm gonna do this no matter what anybody says i'm gonna make this work now if you already own a business or own a place you may have to battle for it i'm not saying that even battle for your family but when you're into something big and a big decision but it's not flowing back up and don't worry about it and trust god man he knows everything that's a lesson i have learned that i want to teach you now i want you to watch this beautiful advertisement that we have eight hours
