significant I'm going to be sharing with you three groups of people three different groups of people that will miss the rapture now before I get started I have just automatically set a boundary for about half the people that watch our program for this reason there are a large number of people who number one no longer believe there's going to be a rapture of the church number two they criticize the idea of teaching on a rapture because they say the word is not found in the Bible you've heard me say it many times on manna-fest the word Trinity is not the Bible it's a theological term the word millennial reign is not in the Bible it's a word that means 1,000 the 1,000 year reign of Christ we talked about demons the word demons is not in the English translation of the Bible it is the word from where we get the word possessed which is the Greek word demonized we get the word demon or demon from there so we talk about demons that yet it's not in the English translation of the Bible rapture is a theological word from the Latin translation of the Bible the 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 where st. jerome translated the Bible from Greek to Latin where he said we shall be caught up he took the greek word caught up and it's where we get the English word rapture from rapture means to be caught up so that's what the word means there's going to be a coming of the Lord whether you believe it or not there's going to be a return of the Lord based on Ephesians chapter 1 verses 9 and 10 first thessalonians chapter 4 verses 16 and 17 john chapter 14 verses 1 & 2 and there is an assumption that anyone who's just says yes I'm a believer yes I have accepted the Lord is an automatic candidate to go into the rapture so you have to hear the entire message don't just say well I don't believe what he said you haven't even heard what it's got to say I want to read a verse of scripture from the New Testament now Jesus is making this statement and we're going to build up on this verse and we're going to break down this verse and the word studies that are in it to help you understand why I'm saying there are certain individuals that because of what they say do teach and think cannot go in the rapture of the church again stay tuned for all the program because this is going to be a part 1 part 2 program I cannot get it on all in one telecast here is Matthew 24:42 through 44 watch you therefore for you know not what hour your Lord doth come but know this that if the Goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come he would have watched and not of suffered his house to be broken up therefore be you ready also for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man cometh now here's what a lot of people do not realize there are conditions for a person to go in the rapture and I'm going to give you five of them from the New Testament what do you mean by conditions are you saying we have to work to go in the rapture no because your salvation is by faith and grace but your rewards in heaven are based on the works that you did on the earth the every covenant in the Bible every covenant has conditions there are promises in every covenant there are conditions the conditions throughout the Torah was obey me walk with me obey my words my statutes my judgment my Commandments Jesus condition in the New Testament for his covenant is if you abide in me and my words abide in you then you shall ask what you will and it shall be done abiding in the faith enduring unto the end is the condition of the New Covenant there are things we have to do we have to pray we seek God we fast we read the word we abide in him and then he abides in us so every covenant and I don't have time to preach on covenants I've preached it all my life is based on promises but there's also conditions if Abraham had not got up and gone to the promised none of the promises God gave him about the promised land would ever come to pass so here are some conditions that are set in the New Testament for a believer to be prepared to go when Jesus suddenly returns number 1 Matt mark chapter 13 through 33 watch and pray watch and pray so a person must be watching you must be alert watching you must be looking for his return number 2 Luke 21 and 36 pray that you be accounted worthy to escape the things that's the tribulation period and to stand before the Son of Man so a person must pray Lord let me be accounted worthy to stand before you let me be accounted worthy Lord to escape those things jesus said pray that you be accounted worthy number 3 Hebrews chapter 9 verse verse 27 until they that look for him he shall appear a second time without sin unto salvation a believer must anticipate and be looking for the return of the Lord you must anticipate you must say praise God the Lord is coming again Maranatha our Lord cometh so that's that is part of the conditions watching praying to be accounted worthy and also we read that we should be looking for him 2nd Corinthians 7 verse 1 let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the sight of God there are things that we pray for God to cleanse us of that only the power of God can cleanse us from there were other things that we must cleanse ourself from meaning that we must be willing to give up we must be willing to lay aside the book of Hebrews says the weight and the sin that does so easily beset us or weigh us down so if there are things we do and we lay aside the way we lay aside the problem we lay down that particular thing so that's there are conditions in our life that we do things to show the Lord that we are being obedient to him and here's the fifth one Revelation chapter 21 verse 7 talks about the overcomer and if we go to Revelation chapters 2 and 3 there are seven blessings to the person who is an overcomer now the greek word overcomer as Rick Renner has pointed out the great Greek scholar actually means to be a super-duper overcomer or a super overcomer and things that you overcome are the world or the desires of the world and we live in the world and we know the world is a beautiful place and God doesn't when God says don't love the world is not talking about don't love the trees the animals the plants the rivers the mountains the beauty of that that's not what I was talking about he's talking about don't think like the world system thinks don't think like the world things for example the world says you could take a baby and abort it we can't think like the world the world says it's okay to not to not believe in a marriage between a man and woman we can't think like the world we must think that the way that God says to think so the fifth thing is you must be an overcomer and you have to overcome the world the flesh and the devil lets you overcome the flesh by discipline the flesh you overcome Satan but not yielding to the things that he puts in your life to desire today now those are five things that the scripture plainly teaches us that we must do in order to be prepared and to prepare ourself for the return of the Lord if you read the parables the five foolish virgins did not have sufficient oil in their lamps when the time of the wedding came and so we have to understand all of these things now let me just say something to you very important if we go back to Matthew chapter 24 the Goodman of the house means in Greek it was the head of the house it was the master of the house the owner of the house we would say today it would be like the dad the dad who works for the family brings home the bread so to speak he's mom and dad's got the kids and he is the protector of the house so the Goodman is like the protector of the house and the parable a thief came and I have heard people criticize this parable and they would say well this parable has nothing to do with Jesus return because Jesus does not come as a thief I beg to differ with you you haven't read your Bible properly here's the verses 1st Thessalonians 5 verse 2 1st Thessalonians 5 verse 4 2nd Peter chapter 3 verse 10 Revelation chapter 3 verse 3 now especially if you go in 2 Thessalonians 4 behold the coming of the Lord is like a thief in the night when they shall say peace and safety then sudden destruction should come upon them as a woman in travail now the reason people say the coming Oh Lord is not like thief is because Jesus is not a thief and a thief steals things and stealing is against the Ten Commandment and they try to reason all of this he uses the metaphor of a thief concerning the coming of the Lord because what a thief does he sneaks into the house without the people no he takes what is there and then before the person knows it's missing BAM they wake up at Selma goodness someone has broken into the house and taken our possessions now it's interesting when you continue to read the parable that the head of the house which in this instance would be the man of the house is caught off guard while the his the possessions that are in his house and are a part of his house have actually been taken now let me just now this is where it gets interesting so you got a tract with me in the parable of the goodman and the thief breaking in to steal the goods from the house and suddenly the goodman realizing the thieves the the goods have been taken from the house if you will go back and read matthew chapter 24 verses 38 through 42 which is right before the parable of the goodman if you will read that you have some of the greatest insight that this is a verse related to the rapture now pay careful attention to what i'm about to say to you because this is very important in matthew chapter 24 and verse 40 jesus then says to will be in the field one will be taken and the other left in matthew 24 verse 41 jesus then says this two women will be grinding at the mill one will be taken and the other left then in Luke chapter 17 26 two will be in one bed one will be taken and the other left now the word left in these instances in the King James translation of the Bible that Greek word means to leave to be forsaken or to be left behind so there is one person that is still in the bed when one is missing there was one person still in the field when one is missing there is one person still grinding at the mill when one is missing now I do not know why they have done this I have absolutely no idea but for centuries for centuries people have looked at this and there's even modern prophetic preachers that say now this is when the Lord comes back and he takes the people that have the mark of the beast and removes them he takes them off of the earth and then those who are remaining are those who do not have the mark and after guys get on television I've heard him talk about this on their program that those taken are those who have them mark of the beast and they talk about the Matthew parable of the separation of the wheat from the tear and how the wheat is the tear is removed and taken and the tear is then gathered into the the barn and they talk about the children of the kingdom and the children of Satan and the separation of the two and that's exactly what the parable teaches that I'm going to prove to you by a word study that this particular verse has nothing to do with at the end of the tribulation the people that have the mark being taken and they will be they will be removed don't get me wrong but that's not what this verse is talking about because it's the Goodman of the house the Goodman has been left and something has been taken out of his house and the Goodman is grieving a look at the parable he is sad because he is something has been removed and in this instance it is not just a thief taking gold silver or precious things it is that his family has been taken why he has been left and they have been taken through what we call the rapture now let me explain this to you here we go and I want you to follow me in this parable where it says one shall be taken the other left one should be taken the other left one will be taken the other left that's in Luke 17:26 the third reference the word taken is the Greek word para lam Bono and listen to what it means very carefully perrilyn bono means to take with oneself or to receive something it actually means someone coming in and taking something to themselves alright that's what the word take it means so in this instance of the parable the thief has gone in and taken something for himself but please watch this carefully John chapter 14 says this John 14 says Jesus said in my father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I go prepare a place for you if I go prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself I will receive you unto myself now here we go that where I am that's in heaven there you may be also so he was telling us he's going back to the Father he's going back to heaven and when he is in heaven he desires for us to be there so he is coming to take us to himself now watch this carefully that word I will come again and receive you King James translation unto myself the word receive is parallel bono it is the same word which is used in the references of one being taken one being parallel bono and the other being left so if we look at the parable and let's look just at the scripture not my opinion not your opinion not what we believe in our you know speculation look at just the pure scripture a goodman has a house in his house our goods all right suddenly a thief has come in unexpectedly taking the goods left him in the house and he is saddened the rapture happens when the rapture happens some will be taken to be with the Lord others will remain and others will be left and the ones who are left will go into the tribulation the ones who are taken are gone to be with the Lord and they have been in Revelation chapter 2 and chapter 3 the overcomers so if we go back to the parable and we go back to the word studies this tube one being taken one being left has nothing to do with at the end of the tribulation he gives his angels to gather his elect from the four corners has nothing to do with that in the context of the setting of the story the taken ones are those who are missing because the Lord has returned because keep reading keep reading what Jesus says then he talks about watch and pray that you'd be accounted worthy the whole thing there of that's those stories of one being taken and the other left is to stay alert and be watching because he said if you're not watching you will be taken totally unaware I will catch you off guard you will not be prepared now we are dealing with and I can tell you for sure we're gonna have to have a part two on this we're dealing with will there be groups of people who are not going to make it in the rapture and the answer is yes and let me give you group number one and we go back to the story of lot when lot warned his sons and laws and daughters that the judgment was coming the Bible tells us it tells us that they mocked him they said you know they're pretty much saying so you know you're telling us judgment is coming there's no way this is gonna happen and so destruction came and before the before the judgment came lot and his daughters two daughters and wife escaped the judgment before it came but the others were destroyed in the midst of the judgment now the angel said in Genesis chapter 19 this is an important verse he said to Lotte make haste and get out of the city for we can do nothing meaning we cannot send the judgement until you are out of the city go read that in the book of Genesis that's a good pre-trib verse by the way or why say pre-trib verse a good reference that applies to a pre-tribulation coming judgment cannot come until the people of God who are righteous are secured in the city and that city there in Genesis of course was not heaven it was so are but for us it'll be the heavenly City now let me go on and talk to talk to you about something if a person is in unbelief an unbeliever who is in unbelief cannot enjoy the reward of the rapture unbelievers are in the same category in Revelation 21:8 as murderers sorcerers liars and idolaters unbelievers the Bible says have their part in the lake of fire Revelation chapter 21 verse 8 and we have today what I call unbelieving believers we have people who confess and say they know the Lord but they do not believe what the scripture says it reminds me of the Pharisees the Pharisees said they knew the law of into the Torah but Jesus said you don't even know you don't know the Scriptures nor the power of God because they were interpreting things their own way now when Paul in the New Testament began to talk about the church in the book of Hebrews this was written to Jews he gives five warning passages about falling away now the falling away there has been a controversy among the Pentecostals in the Baptist because the Pentecostals believe that a person can know the Lord but fall away from the faith and Baptist believing what when most did let me say it this way I'm making a general statement here so don't write me all these opinions and what we call unconditionally turns security in Hebrews many times growing up those five warning passages were given to us to warn us about staying faithful to God and not falling away in the context of Paul writing Hebrews here's what was happening the Jewish people many of them had come to know the Lord and they had done away with the temple offerings temple sacrifices the sacrifices for sin however the Temple in Jerusalem was still active and people were still offering sacrifices some of the Jewish people were being pressured by family members to return back to the offerings at the temple to sacrifice for their sins because they didn't believe Yeshua could really forgive sins so Paul was saying to them if you say to me that you're a believer and you receive a blood of Jesus and you go back to the temple offerings there is no more sacrifice for sins your sins cannot be forgiven and you're going to apostatize by turning back to something that no longer works those are the five warning passages in the book of Hebrews however the Apostle Paul begins to warn the people about the sin of unbelief now listen to me very carefully in the book of Hebrews eleven times Paul talks about in this it's right around there you go to chapter 3 in chapter 4 you'll find all of this he warns them about unbelief and in 10 times the word unbelief I'm sorry talks about entering into rest let me let me backtrack entering into rest ten times that word rest is to chill out to relax - rrah - just enjoy the presence of God so to speak out of the eleven times the word rest is used by Paul in the book of Hebrews one time it's the Greek word Sabbath is Mose and it's the eternal Sabbath and Paul says this if you have a heart of unbelief you shall not enter into your rest in that one place in Hebrews is the word Sabbath is most which is when we go to heaven and we lay our we cease our Labor's we cease our work and we rest with the Lord so Paul warned the church Israel fell into unbelief you can go into the Old Testament you can read where Israel fell into unbelief but Hebrews four and nine there remains therefore a rest for God's people our rest is when we go to heaven but if you fall into unbelief Paul said you will fall short of that let us therefore fear lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest any of you should come short of it for unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them but the gospel preached them did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith now listen to second Peter chapter three three and four knowing this first that this should come in the last days scoffers walking after their own lusts saying where is the promise of his coming for since the fathers have fallen asleep all things remain the same since the beginning of creation the point I make is there are people who don't believe in the rapture they say it's not gonna happen and they mock it yet they called himself a believer but listen to this Jesus could do no mighty miracles in Nazareth because of their unbelief unbelief rout Romans chapter 11 20 because of their unbelief they were broken off first Timothy chapter 1 verse 3 Paul was a blasphemer but he said I did it ignorantly through unbelief Hebrews four and six they could not enter into their rest because of their unbelief Hebrews chapter 4 11 laboured to enter into rest lest any man fall after the same manner of unbelief I have a question for you if you do not believe God can save can you be saved the answer is no if you do not believe that you can be baptized in the Holy Spirit well God forced the baptism of the Holy Spirit on you the answer is no if you say I don't believe in all that healing peace these people say God can heal I don't believe in that can you be healed in unbelief the answer is no because then answers Jesus could do no mighty miracles because of their unbelief if you tell me I don't believe miracles happen today will God force a miracle on you when you say I do not believe in miracles here's my point you can only receive what you believe for you can only accept and receive from God the thing you believe in therefore let me ask you a question if you do not believe the Lord is going to return is he going to come and catch those away who are in unbelief and I'm about out of time but I could tell you from the New Testament the answer is no so when people say I believe the church is going through the tribulation there will be people who fell into unbelief who did not believe who were not truly following the Lord who absolutely go through the tribulation but in Revelation chapter 2 and chapter 3 the overcomers inherit all blessings and those who overcome the world the flesh and the devil keep a repentant spirit stay true to God follow the Lord and do the right thing they are the ones accounted worthy to escape these things and stand before the Son of man and I realize I have opened up a can of worms for a whole lot of you watching the manna-fest telecast but I want you to watch part 2 next week as I continue to pick up on this theme about individuals who will miss the rapture and
