RimWorld False God - I Am Amun-Ra // EP1

greetings everybody rodman here thank you for tuning in to the very first episode of room world false god information about the series can be found in the description here comes episode one i am amun rah what is false god that's a very good question the lore false god it is about an egotistical xeno anthropologist one that studies humanities more or less who was studying from orbit as if he was part of let's say stellars but decided to join the proto-civilization down below and become a self-proclaimed god knowing what he knows about space age technology the rules are simple the false god must never die only title holders may cycast ammonites may not used ranged weaponry that's going to be a tough one and advanced technology must be kept secret that i will spell out in greater detail as we play and the goals are very straightforward as well build the most impressive metropolis on the planet spread the ideology far and wide and then ascend him back to the heavens [Music] so before we start the world it is a very simple proto-civilization world if we take a look here here are all the other tribes of the world some permanently hostile some not [Music] they cover the globe the small globe [Music] and the ideology now this is in the details if you type exclamation mark details but we are a collectivist with a god emperor and we believe in melee combat we have four deities bastit al-munra our god emperor uh ta the god of the craft and hathor the god of love or goddess of love the precepts is that our leader is god-like charity is important that's a different one i've never really used that before power is exalted so the mood of the leader is way up there uh permanent bases are desired art is desired uh we do melee combat so using ranged weapons for an ammonite is very upsetting in fact it is forbidden we proselytize frequently and we gain a whole lot of psi focus being godlike as we are the roles are simple there is taz architects you must be a ammonite you must have at least six construction and allows you to do i'm not going to use the ability finish construction i think it's a little too powerful but allows you to convert limestone into pristine limestone which we're going to build a significant amount of our city with and then there is the melee specialist this is vanilla bastet's guardians the rituals are one for each god or actually these are real ancient egyptian rituals i have no idea how pronounce it but i'll do my best festival of kojiak uh whop it rand pet uh tech festival and opet festival and these are all done on the first of every new season so they are obligatory and we will suffer mood consequences skipping them uh we have three relics we're after a spear a hammer and a ring and we venerate cats and of course we venerate melee weapons as far as the characters go we have amun ra the god king himself so if we take a look at his role he is indeed the leader and he is a fast learner who's too smart kind and asexual i have him asexual because i didn't want him to be in a relationship with any of the other colonists it didn't really make sense and here is his skills he was a space researcher but i did give him a tribal background so that he can cycast using anima trees then we have shell bell [Music] hyper sensitive iron willed super immune go to cooking plants medical and social she's our lore keeper and probably soon to become hawthorne's guide which is the moral guide of our ideology and then macho quick sleeper industrious and tough [Music] and is likely to become one of patas or ta's architects the constructor the map tile is a result of the mod geographical landforms and you can see the entire mod list in the description but it's a caldera with a river running through it which i thought was very fitting being that we are egyptian so here's the very large caldera a minimum amount of fertile soil inside but in terms of um terrain affordance there's not a lot that blocks terrain which is a godsend because our goal is to build a an illustrious city and that's about all that i think i need to cover so oh um yeah in terms of the mod list there's a lot of other mods included so you could see things like the vanilla expanded era shrubland with hippopotamuses and cheetahs and the like uh coyotes etc so right at the start um let's jump into it as you can see building shelter and obtaining food a high priority so i'm gonna go through the work priorities real quick setting them up as i think they should be set i'm going to send macho to grab a little bit of uh steel and i'm going gonna set up just a temporary little outpost here uh a starter building if you will a seven by seven uh shell bell is going to be triggered to cut down some trees and i don't think i'm going to care about the growth percentage of the tree if it's choppable i chop and almond raw and shellball will do the same and then macho down to compacted steel what i envisioned for this is that we have i would like to try to mimic as best as i can um thebes which is the name of our city here so it's not going to look exactly like thebes of course but that's what i'm aiming for a decent approximation of an egyptian city one with guests that visit and one that is full of wealth and industry so that is the uh that's the the long goal there i also suspect because all of the festivals that we have add people to our colony and then also the uh rituals that we have well and and the guests that we can recruit it's also going to be a large colony one humming with activity if uh if i build what i would like to build uh some of the other things that we're going to want to do right at the start is to get a primitive well uh so that we can go to the bathroom comfortably and a latrine i think uh what i'll do is set this up in a five by five so four and just paint it like this because i do have dubs bad hygiene now granted most of it is locked behind technology levels that we will not be accessing but uh but a basic latrine is gonna be required for us to relieve ourselves comfortably so that's actually going to be the first construction that i built not the starter shack [Music] and because we are melee only or at least every ammonite is melee only farming is going to be pretty important early on uh because we will not be allowed to hunt with ranged weapons so we can hunt with bashing wildlife but i don't think bashing crocodiles or hippopotamuses is a wise idea um so we might be able to take out like an iguano or rat or something but uh you know unless we want to be severely wounded it's probably not wise to go at a hippo with a club not if you want to live to tomorrow so there is a fairly finite amount of wood available on the map tile of course this is an arid tribland so we're gonna have to set up an outpost to cut down wood soon or raid someone else's outpost one or the other and there is simply no way that i could catch up on the activity feed but thank you so some of my older content where i had a patron i still actually have him as a patron but uh lutherington and he liked to smash rats with clubs kind of like a mouse and men uh lenny or something he was very good at smashing very good at it all right something else that we're gonna want uh pretty early on now that we have the bathroom is to get a fueled stove uh because we uh because we're restricted to basically tribal slash a little bit of um medieval technology we are definitely not going to have electricity obviously or at least not for the colony that's the thing is with the rules that i have almond raw can make secret use of advanced technology but it cannot be known to the public in fact there is uh pretty vicious penalties if anyone looks upon technology that they should not know about it's death anyone that sees technology besides the technology used by amonrad directly and i'll explain this a little bit more in detail they get put to death so almond raw if i manage to find let's say marine armor or a shield belt or a monosaur he can use it because it's understood that he is a god so he would have godlike powers that are not well understood by mortals or at least that's what everyone else thinks but no one else should be able to use that stuff or even see that stuff so let's say i do a quest for a vanimetric power cell as soon as i get awarded that power cell almond rail has to squirrel it away from the entire colony and no one can look upon it kind of like ark of the covenant they look upon it they die i'll be forced to kill them so um it's going to be interesting especially with um mental breaks and the like to try to keep people from being offed pretty early on all right now that we have a bit of rice i think it would be wise for me to get some heel root because medicine is in very short supply on this map dial and then also up here i think i'm gonna put down maybe cotton it's too bad there's no flax i think flax would be more historically accurate there is also a vanilla expanded um plants so there's a lot of plants here makes a little bit more complicated to find the ones i want then the other thing i wanted to do is to set up a cooking bill up to three and we'll have shelbelle uh do that cooking so that we do not starve and then in the assignments here i'm going to rename the lavish meals queue that i have is just not raw disallowing raw food because raw food can poison you and is upsetting if it's not berries you can eat raw berries that's fine but raw rice or raw agave is pretty disgusting crave thank you for the gifted subs and our we have stone cutting technology unlocked so with that in mind let's go ahead and get a research bench and then also get a table chairs recreation game border maybe a torch lamp and then sleeping spots [Music] it's gonna be a little cramped at first but we'll branch out quickly i think not raw with not r.a yeah no god eating you're not allowed to eat gods here all right naming the stockpiles so far mr rue thank you for the following cheers [Music] now there's a little bit of a penalty cooking outdoors which macho is working to remedy now it also looks like i'm gonna need more wood than i currently have access to so i'm gonna have our god leader here cut down some of the dragon trees out here that are closer to being fully grown another thing that would be wise is once i have the hill root cotton and rice sewn to get a very large field of drago trees sewn or cacti one or the other probably cacti just because it's um quicker uh quicker to grow so quicker to yield [Music] but it is nice to have the research bench already already up and running [Music] hmm another thing not to cut down would be the uh anima tree definitely don't want to do that for probably very obvious reasons right dude yoda would not approve of that being chopped [Music] all right matcha back to work something that i could do is a work drive for macho i actually might want to work drive shelbel if she's going to be sewing uh lots of cacti that might be even better how are we going to determine if someone has seen forbidden tech um i'll make that determination i know that seems a little arbitrary but basically initially when if arbor if spacer tech or high tech gets delivered to us via space or quest um raw here would have to immediately whisk it away so leave that for me to interpret and understand and i'll be very vigilant about making sure that nobody violates that rule let's get the walls around us done before we start with the uh with anything else in fact i'm gonna have macho do a quick caravan because wood is actually oddly lightweight in the game so i'll just have him load all this wood up so that he can move it more efficiently and one of the advantage i have is that raw is extremely uh intelligent so he actually has a chance to become somewhat of a god king given that he is too smart and fast learning he's going to whip through leveling up whatever he needs to level up don't you go to sleep macho build them walls all right using the sinks it also be good to get a light in there at some point and then let's do an occupancy occupancy check so that nobody walks in on anyone else going to the bathroom uh first research i'm going to leave this up to you i'm going to pull you all so what to research first there's going to be a few options so one obvious one that would be important is stone cutting if you think i should get that right off the bat there's also complex furniture to be able to sleep on beds and not floors [Music] now we could do hunting or attempt to do hunting in order to get bed rolls but at the moment we are sleeping on sleeping spots which is less than ideal there's also uh composting uses the runoff or the excrement from the latrine in order to uh set us up with some some fertilizer uh then there's also complex clothing which of course really only almond raw could use because others would be restricted to treble clothing but it does lead to plate armor which would be allowed and beer brewing and double strand [Music] all of which would be good for mood and clothing and then great bow so of these options i'll give you two and a half minutes to vote on one right there what do you think is most important and let's take everybody off of hunt i don't need anyone anyone hunting i'm going to cue up stone cutting because it seems to be the leader but if that pivots that's fine [Music] all right next up i'd like to construct some temporary bedrooms and it would also fulfill the need for many structures because i have a minus five not enough buildings so that has shell bell and omenra cutting down more trees and then macho constructing them into basic structures everything that i'm building right now is very temporary i'm totally not planning on keeping it long-term um it's just we need a roof over our heads to meet the bare minimum requirements of survival and then i'll move on to bigger and better tasks [Music] so here's some basic structures that i want to set up initially i'm going to forbid all but the middle one and then work on my way out [Music] [Music] and macho how about you stop sweeping the ground [Music] maybe eventually we do that but not right now [Music] all right stone cutting looks to be the pretty popular option here this doesn't seem like a good base in the long run oh it definitely isn't all that you see is temporary so i agree with you there all right macho you're currently idle and we'll stick with stone cutting got it so i'm gonna let macho plant cut he'll be terrible at it but uh [Music] more people working on the tree task will be yielding quicker results i may have to go out to the caldera for additional wood we'll see but given that we're not going to be able to do deep drilling unless we set up mining outposts wood is not finite where metal sort of is because you can't grow metal out of the ground so i have to be careful about how i use the wood of course we are also going to have a a colony that is significantly reliant upon wood for cooking and heating and light so it is going to be a constant strain on the colony for sure advanced bionics like bionic arms uh is one of those things that a is not likely to be even offered to me in the first place but if let's say it was um i would have you all pull if i would allow it to be installed then perhaps the sacrifice would be whoever installs it ends up dead all right shell belt is getting the last of the heel root zone i do have a uh a coyote i wouldn't say threatening us but close and i don't believe that there's a uh another animal around which means that we would be the top priority for that coyote so glad you're not a doctor i mean you are though i wouldn't i would probably not sacrifice a title holding a member for a surgery though hopefully we won't even need uh prosthetics i mean i'm sure we will but prosthetics were actually a thing that existed in this day and age there's evidence of prosthetic toes even in ancient egypt so it's not out of the question to um to allow prosthetics maybe the production facilities to make prosthetics would be forbidden for everybody to see and amon raw would have to make it himself but he could uh hypothetically install them and claim that they are of tribal tech oh come on macho make this easier on yourself there we go [Music] all right so shell bell is now done sewing all the hill root and we are just getting some basic bedrooms up the kirti thank you for the reset welcome home [Music] all right the drink great tree cutting is now happening [Music] uh the next goal i'm gonna have you all vote on that once we get three bedrooms up for everybody i can either set up dining and recreation keeping in mind that this is of course all temporary [Music] hmm all right so here is three options for you all to vote on dining and recreation so that it benefits our mood a little bit a ritual room so that we can run some rituals once they're required or defenses i also just had some goats join okay i'll set up a hitching spot for now i don't really have anywhere to put them at the moment we don't have any skilled animal handlers but amonrah himself would be able to do it fairly effectively and kitchenhead thank you for the bits and aruku thank you for the resup [Music] oh that coyote definitely just killed something right there little rat killing i suppose all right macho this one's yours and let's get shell bells basic hut setup [Music] you can hear macho cutting down trees it's probably not the task best set for him though i also need to keep an eye on these um some of the predators on the map tile so if we take a look here there are cheater cheetahs and crocodiles that i need to keep an ah a close eye on okay it is a burgeoning city we have enough basic structures that i'm not being penalized in that way i'm gonna rob i'm gonna set you up to higher priority research after you harvest this last tree showballs going ham and chopping them all down that's going to be very very useful for when we need to uh expand even more [Music] it appears to me that defenses has won so first order of business when we're aiming to defend ourselves is weapons because without weapons it doesn't really matter how much defenses we have i think ideally we're gonna want to use stone as a method to protect ourselves so i'm gonna have macho come on here at the uranium and start to mine and then shell bell i am going to cancel out all the chocolate designations and just have you haul what's out here or maybe even caravan it for speed i can also equip wood as a blunt weapon but it's barely better than bare fists is that all the wood that might be all the wood and i'm planning on making heavy clubs out of the uranium so that we can uh defend ourselves a little bit cheers icarus all right another thing i'm going to need shelbel to do is to get a little bit more agave we're low on meals and then i'll set up the drago tree farm it's gonna be pretty important i think all right it is warning me that a pen is needed so i'm going to have um shall we grab the goats because macho is all the way out here doing the uranium mining i don't want to disturb him so the way that rim world works in terms of predators okay thank you food oh look it's almost all of it where is she go oh she's hitching so the way that um predators work in room world in the game mechanics is that whenever every animal has a certain designated size to it and they only hunt things that are smaller so there is a like a food web pecking order um a lot of the sizes can only really be seen in game code um so it's not like you can just look in here and be like oh this animal is a size five uh but predators will prey on things smaller than it by default sorry i'm unraw you're gonna have to do some extra work today because the fates saw fit to blight our farm bye bye rice are teen humans considered smaller than adults they are and as a result they have a lower tolerance for drugs so what you would normally schedule for they also have a smaller stomach so they have to eat more often but um but that's less important than probably their drug tolerance so if you have i should move this where there's things to graze on if you have let's say someone drinking one beer a day scheduled if you allow a anyone under 21 to go on that same schedule they could become addicted more easily just the way it is [Music] i'm going to rousseau fit to blight the crops yeah maybe he wanted oh bye-bye goat goats kicking sand into the coyote's eyes but the goat died i don't think that my goats are going to survive very long which is why i'm not raffling them off if they do happen to survive after a day or two i'll i'll raffle them what i need to do is i need to get myself some melee weapons to deal with that coyote and i don't have that yet we're trying to lead the other ones to the hitching spot but part of me feels like we're just leading these goats to coyote slaughter which may or may not be true i'm gonna have macho or no that's not macho i'm gonna have macho handle the other one just because he's standing here and i can rope them together once i have a little bit more uranium from this node i'll craft uranium clubs and we'll smack that coyote back into yesterday build defenses all right i am hitting her with the work drive and i'm going to lower almond raw's desire or priority for growing and this is so that i can put down a tree farm up here with a i think we'll do cactuses so she's also going to automatically harvest and our food is low again so i should lower this down to the berries so we harvest the berries automatically as well once she's done staring at the sun good for your retinas i mean almond raw's namesake is he is god of the sun so staring at the sun is just a way to show worship i suppose oh here's yet another coyote going after yet another goat yeah at least the goats aren't federated animals that would be a problem goat's doing a pretty good job i mean he's definitely gonna lose but i think the coyote is also gonna die too because it's uh mortally bleeding fatally bleeding out so what i'm going to do here uh might seem a little odd but i'm going to build a roof in this spot so that i block out the sun and then put a crafting spot here in order to work outside in a bad temperature with no light to make heavy clubs that way i can spend the most amount of time possible making the heavy club and gain the most um skill for it trying to min max some skill and then once we have a few heavy clubs i definitely am going to go club some coyotes not a fan of them chewing through my my goats oh uh let's um a roof zone there yeah so now i'm in the dark and i'm outdoors and it's a bad temperature so almond rail has to spend the most amount of time and therefore the crafting seal goes up the most uh i could butcher the goats yeah if i the thing is um i don't have a butcher table yet so i should get one of those that means macho is going to stop what he's doing and yeah maybe that's for the best because it's actually pretty far to get to this uranium [Music] all right pick that up tomorrow [Music] was the opinion of our cruel nature of our existence well there is actually a uh alpha meme which believes in suffering but i don't believe we're suffering [Music] oh bye bye last goat duke it out i was also pregnant that's just a shame and i figured that was going to happen which is why i didn't raffle them so macho is going to go get a little bit more uranium which seems to be guarded by a crocodile which sketches me out a little bit we'll also get the coyotes butchered so what's your creature forever and we'll have shelbal go do that now oh and this one is now fatally bleeding as well so the coyotes got what was coming to them good yeah they lived well very briefly oh i already have one club where did that come from all right well shelbo is ready to go clubbing and then we only need a little bit more uranium to get the last one how fast do crocs move okay they're slow so if the cracks turn on me i can outrun them easy peasy that was i guess my main concern sorry coyote you two shall die uh so down here what i could do is a i'm going to set this up for fine meals do until we have three i'm going to suspend the simple meals and then everything else made into pemmican so one batch of fine meals and then everything else uh pemmican so that we can keep it preserved so he's hauling 75 this is 85 and then a heavy club costs 70 okay so this will be enough and i forbid the rest perfect croc we'll just wait until i'm thirsty oh let's see i can make primitive wells so he's gonna have a hard time okay we have our first fecal sludge lovely we know that we're growing society when we got uh poo on our shoe also i want to clean up all this blood because uh that's not fitting you this is what's coming to you [Music] hey zero thanks for the reset [Music] do we have shoes i suspect that almond raw has shoes because he's in a collared shirt and synthread pants which by rimworld standard would like come with magical shoes attached rimroll's a weird place where feet and hands exist in only in injuries and then if you're not injured those body parts don't exist all right getting a few more berries so that we can make matches of pemmican oh are you trying to flirt with amonrella that's not gonna work and we have first raid orange and he is up here with a marble club all right brawl versus brawl i like it i'll get almond row to make the next club so we can mash the raider once uh stone cutting's done i will wall and gate this entrance up and then work on the rest of the defenses but because we are um brawler only there's only so much defenses that are even worth making i guess is the way to put it so macho here you go and shall we come down [Music] your fellow knight thank you for becoming a patron by the way and also for subbing too all right he's dead and the other two are just lightly bruised nothing serious now comes the issue of dealing with radar bodies because we don't really like corpses so we're gonna have to bury them but um this raider came with herbal meds which is great i'm a big fan of that all right pick up herbal meds carry three for showball and raw [Music] wait trying to flirt with him he's a god it's getting a little weird uh so raw has to make one more club for all of us to be clubbing together and macho still needs treatment [Music] maybe not with herbal meds we're not that hurt [Music] [Music] two thirds done with stone cutting what to research next complex furniture composting complex clothing beer brewing double strand great bow or smithing i figured we are closing in on being done with that tech wolf thanks for the bits cheers oh i cannot wait until i get some uh stone cut so what other predators do i have to worry about out here three cheetahs and as you can imagine it's hard to outrun a cheetah no one's going to be able to really do that the crocodiles are slow drafts are dangerous and of course hippos are very dangerous there's a coyote that presumably oh it died from an iguana that's just embarrassing can anyone shoot um we are brawlers only so if we had someone join us that was not a brawler they could shoot but uh at the moment none of us are are allowed to all right there's the heavy club give that to ahmanra it's much better than this marble club shell bell is sewing the cactuses camacho getting steel for us so that hypothetically given that steel honestly we don't even have smithing yet so we don't even have the ability to put down flooring [Music] and it looks like most of this meat is going to spoil unless we get some more berries so let's get you out here to harvest all these berries even the ones that are not fully ready haul this all in and turn into pemmican it's good to try to keep our food from spoiling cheetah hunting macho which is an interesting choice considering shovels standing next to it okay complex furniture is next bad kitty very bad kitty went down pretty quick must have gotten clubbed to the head i'd imagine no just smashed its body to nothing [Music] oh now we have some pen therapher and even more need to uh to get more veggies for [Music] pemmican [Music] all that agave is ready though so you [Music] let's go get agave [Music] once i have some perimeter walls up it's going to be a lot easier for me to protect myself from um would be man-hunting predators because you know they're not gonna be able to path to us easily oh we're so close [Music] fully healed good hey some travelers not guests though i think having you had queued up for me to research complex furniture and i think that's going to help a lot with hosting guests which is good so here's the stone cut complex furniture's next oh a little pop-up of like slap beds won't be researched yeah that's fine and now i'm gonna have macho hmm make any stone block is fine well probably slate for outer walls marble's not exactly the block that you want for outer walls i think so we'll start with slate we'll reserve the marble for art and yep the coyote meat is running away not much i could do about that i tried to turn it into a pemmican in time but uh didn't get there quite then [Music] [Music] so with these slate blocks [Music] construct a simple wall there and then i'll do the same here too [Music] now the water pathways are still technically open so we'll get some bridging another thing to consider is um it is overhead mountain which means it is infestable oh good the uh the blood will wash away without me having to do anything so that's something to consider later on is you know we don't want to trigger the great plagues of the nile aka infestations so we got to be careful about that we need a little bit more wood to finish off that project and then complex furniture is going
