"i know the devs know nothing about biking'this shows how much you know nothing about the industry yourself ^^If this is not the game for you, it's completely fine not to buy it (but we all know you will, because no other game has those visuals and licences for a biking game).Still being toxic on Reddit, like, everyday, is not a good behavior.Don't be that guy, you can have attention by being nice too.

Imagine being butthurt cause a Game Studio did not developed "their" Game as you wanted.
Why you keep wasting your Time with it so? If you dislike the Game provide Feedback, but not out of some Trailers, or Videos with Gameplay Footage. I don't think you're even able to judge the Game without having it 5 hrs played. If you simply don't like what you're seeing, no need to purchase. On Top of it dont act like you got a single clue of shredding a bike considered by your clueless Posts you push out for Attention Seeking to make your little Ego feel better. It ain't the first Community your being hate on. Super Mario is on of the best Genre´s ive discovered in my Childhood. Imagine coming near those Feelings on Rider´s Republic would been insane. It aint a Sim, Mr Grimm.

[Music] so [Music] [Music] yes here we go yeah come on [Music] yo [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so well welcome mountain bike fans of the world thanks for joining us for day two of competition out here in beautiful innsbruck austria for the first stop of the 2021 crank works world tour this is where we're hanging out central europe a spot we've been visiting for the last five years this year we're kicking off the season here in innsbruck which is not normally the case but hey you know what we're bobbing and weaving lots of stuff we've got to adapt to these days but you know what is the same as usual is this beautiful venue and how compact it is we've got the slope style course and the speed and style course right in the middle fans hanging out even this year we've got the pump track which took place last night fantastic race french racers taking the gold for the men and the women and of course slalom yesterday morning and will be finishing off the festival with downhill you can see it at the top of the screen right here in the top right downhill course finishes a little bit off venue but that's where they take up the lift and it's a beautiful venue for a mountain bike competition yesterday you believe me because i was showing you these magnificent pictures of sunsets and peaky mountains people with smiles on their face shorts tank tops today it's a little bit different we'll get to a little bit more about that in a minute but right now we're focusing in on this speed and style course speed styles wild it's all about racing just like dual slalom if you joined us yesterday where there's a couple jumps on the course so these racers not only have to go head-to-head and race they got to do tricks what kind of bike would be the most ideal ride for this kind of competition it's got a chain unlike last night's pump track it's got full suspension on like last night's bikes but guess what short travel because you need all that maneuverability they got to be nimbly and bibbly for the back flips the 360s the tail whips icon maxis in the front pace in the rear 26 or 27 5-inch wheels for these bikes and i'll tell you what if you enjoyed any of the competition yesterday the slalom or the pump track you're gonna have a heck of a time here for speed and style once we finally get it underway we gotta apologize for making you wait an extra 15 minutes but i'm gonna tell you why right now the clouds decided to show up gigantic thumb thunderstorms echoing through the valley we had kind of a a nice little light storm with the lightning flashing but right now we've got the track personnel out there kind of drying up those puddles smoothing out those soft spots in the dirt so we can get this cliff speed and style ready for you shortly my name is cam mccall i'm going to be your host today so i got to thank you for joining us but i also have to thank a couple friends i have in the booth i've got alan cook over here former professional bmx rider he was one of the best in the world in his day now he's taking up mountain biking as a hobby he's going to be out there racing the world cup he's also earned the downhill on sunday but he's also hanging out with us here we're going to call a little bit of speed and style together we'll be bringing andrew needling up in a minute but check out who i got here to my right casey brown you guys know casey brown casey how's it going good cam how are you doing doing good i mean crazy travel to get here but i'm happy to be here now and you know i'm looking over your shoulder and i see people racing so that makes me feel even better speaking of race and casey what events are you signed up for this week i already competed in the dual slalom i tried out for pump track last night but it was pretty tough so i got got out pretty early in that and then i had whip offs i got downhill later on how'd the whip off go whip off was sick that jump alone is worth the trip to europe yeah you're out there too alan yeah yeah definitely the jump i mean i've been trying to ride that jump for five years and it finally all came together uh i had to get all the permits and the tests and all the things and it was like a big build up to actually get to ride that jump so sweet but also congrats on a silver medal yeah slalom thank you thank you super fun you were coming in on the private jet so you missed it but it wasn't casey killed it you were looking really good out there like thank you i don't know did you do a lot of practice like skills practice no this is this is the time i do my practice during crank works practice nice well you thank you i appreciate it so casey you got one more event coming up sunday for the downhill we'll wish you good luck for that we'll be rooting for you but you've had a good time in the off season you get after a lot of interesting stuff when you're not racing i heard about this trip you did uh with clif bar it was you georgia and michaela gatto where'd you guys go what was it all about oh man like during covert i was trying to think of what to do because we were kind of just trapped in canada i was like well canada is pretty big so let's drive to the yukon so me george assel and kayla gatto all hopped in our vehicles and we hit up four different locations and drove all the way to uconn huge mission but amazing so so cool to have support from clif bar for that yeah it seems like they kind of get behind all the projects you you all want to do and and make it all possible so i'm sure it's probably something you incorporate into your off season training and everything absolutely yeah i'm always planning stuff for for collaborations with them and yeah definitely a key sponsor well cool thanks for joining us up here and uh i think this is about time we start talking about the competition format i touched on it a little bit at the top of the show but let's kind of dig a little bit deeper alan and start talking about what cliff speed and style is all about yeah it's one of one of the most unique events where it is it's exactly what it is it's combining the speed and how fast and how smooth riders can get through this course but there's also bonuses for tricks there's limitations to the tricks there's a lot of rules and regulations to it but it really brings those two worlds together on one course and it's really really exciting yeah so they're racing just like they do on slalom and pump track so obviously the rider with the fastest time is going to have the advantage once they go to the top but there's more to it than that after the judges score their trick they then transfer that score over into a point a time deduction so say for example you do a big backflip combo and your opponent did a bar spin you're going to get more time taken off than your opponent and if you're still ahead of them after the second run you move into the next round and it's bracketed we go 32 16 8 4 and then we start giving away gold medals so 2020 champ was thomas lemoyne and then it's pretty cool last year was the first time that we had a women's category in speed and style and casey i know you were mixing it up in whistler you enjoyed that did you do the rotor rule one as well i did not do the rotorua one i crashed in practice and couldn't make it through i had a pretty big hematoma on my side and i uh yeah couldn't persevere that one somebody who did persevere and it's kind of crazy because we never get to say this this is so rare because all these disciplines have been around for a long time but jordy scott she's undefeated in this discipline not just at this venue every single time there's been a women's category for sweden style she's won she won in rotorua last year she won in whistler in 2019 so it's gonna be pretty interesting to see if she can back it up but we were watching practice and stuff has changed in the women's category there's girls flipping out there now yeah kovid was good for women's free ride i think a lot of girls you know they didn't have the races to go to they had tons of uh like sessions and trick sessions and especially in new zealand like tons of chicks are flipping and doing tons of tricks so it's really cool to see that come to an event like this it is great because in other sports you know mountain bike freeride is pretty young so in other sports you watch like women surfing women skiing snowboarding like the level is insane and i feel like we're getting we're in that like uh renaissance period for for women's free ride right now and it's actually happening so we're gonna see bigger tricks in the women's category than we've seen before so let's talk about those tricks how does this work how do the riders know which tricks to do we actually have a bit of the formula that the judges use to score these tricks we're going to take a look at that right now so walk me through this allen well we're looking at a couple of options these guys have these tricks are gonna kind of regulate so they know what they're gonna get it's not like a full-on contest where they're taking every little bit like height and everything into account you're getting these tricks and you're getting these points so for example you do a double tail up you're scoring 126 points that's a gigantic trick if you're just flicking a bar spin only 14 points but there is actually some uh some room for wiggling there with the judges if it's the best 360 double bar spin they've ever seen 133 points but if it was a little bit bobbled maybe landed a little bit rear tire they can kind of fluctuate and bring it down a little bit from that maximum level so you see that maximum level there tricks like double backflips cash rolls which is basically a 720 on a forward front flip axis and a quark 720 140 points so keep that in mind when you're watching these races and if you see a racer across the finish line leaps and bounds ahead of their competitor you can't figure out why the competitor was the one to advance think about what trick they did there's a lot of strategy that goes into this so you know what this is like this is like a a mind exercise for being a spectator of this you know you're not going to get bored so this is your first speeding style you're going to enjoy it this is your first time calling a speed and style this is my first time being up here in the booth yeah i've always i've always kept an eye on it and it's such a cool event how it's bringing those two worlds together i'm pretty stoked to be up here and get to see it from this point of view yeah it's gonna be good and you know what i feel like it's gonna happen shortly because they're actively riders on course right now and since we're watching the riders on the course i feel bad for you you're not getting to watch the riders on the course so i think this is a good time to go to the gopro course preview take a look what's up guys jackson goldstein here here with kid edwards we're here at the 2021 crankworx innsbruck innsbruck gonna be doing the cliff speed and style gopro course preview okay [Music] oh oh huge on that one yeah dude oh i like that so it's a great course it's always been one of the favorites amongst the riders because there's a lot of speed on this course which makes it really tight racing some courses we've seen in the past have had flat corners more scattered throughout and that's what really mixes it up so expect really even racing and just keep in mind some of these riders if you're a big time mountain bike fan you're going to see riders from all different backgrounds right there you just saw jackson goldstone who's a rider who kind of you know he's very well-rounded and he's a young kid and he's just starting to spread his wings he got second at the world cup in the junior category just a week ago so it's gonna be fun to see how he fares out here and then of course a guy like kate edwards who is a world cup racer but in times like hovind when you got no races he was doing crazy tricks and uh so those are just two of the guys you're going to see out there racing let's take a look at the men's bracket and see who else fills that field of 16 that we're going to see drop in here shortly yeah there you can see cade right there in eighth place qualifier you know he's gonna be in that first bracket he's gonna be looking pretty good uh we also have goldstone that's you know we're in it we're living in the future seeing goldstone coming up and getting in from from that young age seeing him coming out in whistler doing the whip off and now we're seeing him you know he's finding his own in the sport and it's so cool to see i feel like we've been talking about these young riders for a long time like they're coming they're coming but they're here now aren't they so i really like looking at this you know the top qualifier at the top the second place qualifier at the bottom we've got a collision course that's the way it works it all funnels into that gold medal round thomas lamoyne the number one qualifier thomas janon second place qualifier we saw france dominating the pump track last night so there's potential for that to happen again here [Music] so one guy who's you know kind of missing from this list that you typically see right in the finals of the speed and style is bass van steenbergen a guy who's usually posting really fast quality times he quali first in the slalom yesterday second in the pump track yesterday he got knocked out yeah what's been happening with bass is he in this or no he's not no he's not but you know what we had our cameras on course so we're able to find out what happened to bass let's take a look so here we go looks like he's going up against greg watts greg with a ton of tricks so for example you know this is kind of what we're talking about greg watts doing tricks like a backflip x up this is where the strategy comes into play bass a guy known for going faster than anybody out there you go alright i'll need to do my craziest trick greg watts who's had a podium here in 2018 he can do backflip tails but he didn't want to risk it because he knew bass was just going to be doing x ups so that's a great example of how things can kind of shake up with all the different strategies bass just doing an x up not going to get as much of a deduction to his time therefore greg watts moves into the next bracket against let's take a look here where is he going to be going up he's going up against oscar nagy from hungary so 26 countries represented here 500 athletes and we were talking to bass a little bit earlier and he had this to say well so much for what he had to say let's talk about what we know about bass van steenbergen 2020 king of crank works after rotorua he was sitting in the top spot but you know that was 2020 and uh wasn't a whole lot of crank works after the rotorua event we're all lucky we got home after that because everything happened right after crankworx rotorua usually taking place in march it'll be taking place in november this year so we're all excited to go back there but best van steenbergen al always a guy who's entering a ton of events he's trying to get as many points as he can because he wants to be that king of crank works and he got off to a great start last year but now he's got another opportunity he wanted some points yesterday he competed in the slalom he competed in the pump track but he wasn't able to get those good results he didn't get a good result here so he's like come on man it's like getting the whole shot and then the race is cancelled right after black yeah yeah he's he's putting in the effort but man that's the thing is you got to finish it and you know siemberg he's one of those guys that have the skill to ride all these different categories on all these different bikes you know hopefully we can light a fire by by calling him out a little bit and you know he can step it up a little bit and start finishing it off we always mess with them a little bit we love them but we give them such a hard time come on bass do a backflip you know who's doing backflips two other women racing let's check out who we have in the women's category let's go to the women's bracket we're going to pick them up at the round of eight after we've whittled down the men to the round of eight and here's who we have on tap for you yeah we have grooms goombs that's one to really watch i saw her going upside down earlier in practice she's coming in top not the top qualifier but i think she's really one to stand out and watch new to this sport here yeah look at goombs for possibly flipping looked for corbeira to potentially be flipping she's been riding out at la poma doing backflips but top of the list there via verbeek your reigning queen of crank works the number one qualifier and georgia astol qualifying in number two that's what we always do when we first get a chance to look at these brackets we look at who's at the top we look at who's at the bottom you know that's first place qualifier second place qualifier and if all goes to plan they'll meet up in that gold medal round so let's see what happens let's see what happens yeah we got some familiar names on that bracket there some so some people are gonna be going for that queen of queen of crank works points overall speaking of via the queen of crank works from the last time we had a full season she's in this race and we caught up with her about what bike she chooses for cliff speed and style let's take a look at vivever beak's bike check hey my name is maya [Music] this is my rocky mountain thunderbolt i've built mine as a 130 millimeter front and back it's my fallen bike it also is my spoon style bike i run it with two minion dhf but the on the front is 2.5 the one the rear is 2.3 for speed and style i'll go a little bit harder in the front there's a bit less action required so i go 33-34 try and keep an eye on it because it's really hot and sunny and they tend to kind of go up and pressured throughout the day [Music] i kind of like having more knobs for flat corners having those is just key so that's cool to see what bike vaya uses for this you see a lot of different bike setups yeah tons of different bikes unlike some of the events where it's pretty much a pump track bike is a pump track bike you see a lot of different choices yeah you got hardtails and you have like trail bikes basically modified to suit the course it's crazy so one thing that i think about is you know you choose your bike but then you don't know what the conditions are going to be like you know what the course is going to be like so what bike setup do you think is going to fare better now that we're coming out of this rain delay the course is going to be a little bit wetter than what they perhaps built their bike for yeah some of the flat corners you might do better with those knobby tires and uh they might pay off instead of having like those semi-slicks like a lot of the other guys yeah and what do you think it does like you know it's kind of like being iced in the gate you're ready to go and then it goes into a course like what does that do to an athlete's head space when they kind of have to just sit around twiddle their thumbs for a little bit yeah it's uh it's kind of crazy because you're ready to go you have all that adrenaline and then boom you're delayed for an hour or two and then you have to wait and you got to build it up again somehow like artificially red bulls or something yeah i'm sure you've been there i'm sure you've been there plenty of times but i think that's where what's going to make tonight interesting i think experience is going to pay off people who have been in this situation they're not going to get flustered people that can adapt to the changing conditions i mean if you would have told me an hour ago that they would be riding this track i would have said no way but people are getting through and tricks are getting thrown out so i think we're in for a good event yeah that's kind of like you know the scene today is like as soon as you think you know what you can expect it's gonna completely change if you were with us last night for pump track it was like a perfect evening sunsets galore and today was super warm and then all of a sudden it was hailing you know so let's take a look we were rolling the cameras of course because it was quite the spectacle and this is what it looked like you know there's such thing as mud tires but there's like not such a thing as hail you know specific tires you know hail hail melted turned into puddles mud tires will work now and this is this is what had to be done in order to get this course for edibles get out there with the flatheads scrape them out and you know this is the type of thing to where you wouldn't be riding right away if you didn't have a bunch of people out there working hard yeah big ups to the guys that are working on the course i mean they're actually digging puddles out and replacing the puddles with good dirt and like refreshing the course not enough uh focus goes on to those guys that are actually like putting a lot of elbow grease into the course well big thanks to them because i just i just received a nice little piece of info the first heat's in the gate we've got riders up there ready to drop the course is running and we're going to be able to start the cliff speed and style so casey brown thank you so much for coming up here and joining us it's always good to hang out with you and uh go get a good seat thank you kim nice to have you here good luck at the rest of your inspect crank cork all right guys all right let's see if we can uh put on the binoculars now and try to take a look at who we have up there in the gate let's get our brackets out allen this is going to be good we're going to start out with the men's round of 16 which means thomas lemoine was the top qualifier not only the top qualifier but the winner of the last two of these events so that's something that we really need to talk about because that's pretty wild so thomas lemoine he won the last two speedin styles and then three ago he was just second in whistler in 2019 so he's definitely the man to beat right now when it comes to speed and style always a competitor in the hunt for the king of crank works he's a slope style specialist that's what he focuses most his time on he's gone all the way up into silver metal position in slope style but he's won a heap load of speed and styles pump tracks and uh he's getting off to a great start already this season we had him out there last night in the round of four and pump track i think he just he ended up just missing it there at the end it was about what was it .19 i think was the split yeah he almost had it there last night so he's looking good he's got good points going into the king of crank works all that experience is going to pay off today with the changing conditions and the weather a lot of focus so here we go we talk about how many accomplishments he has here just read this list i mean first the 2019 speed and style crank works rotorua second in whistler and then boom first in 2020 in rotorua first in 2020 here in innsbruck of course last year for innsbruck we had kind of a smaller field with global travel restricted it doesn't really change the fact that he was you know first place against some of the best riders in the world because if you look at our rankings even when all the riders from the rest of the world are around a lot of them are from europe so a lot of the guys that he beat last year are typically the ones you see in top spots as well so in the past in the past a few events he's been very very dominant but the thing about this form of competition is one little slip up and you go from number one qualifier to out in the round of 16. so he's going up against a formidable opponent opponent here in the form of thomas zeta if you've been watching crank works for a long time you recognize the name thomas zeta he's very accomplished in slope style but slope style is so hard to keep your points rolling and get the invitations to the next season so we haven't seen him in slope style for a bit but knowing that he was so accomplished in that discipline you know he's got a lot of tricks and uh these guys are are good buddies the uh [Music] the camaraderie and slope style is pretty wild so i'm sure these guys are excited to be up in the gate against each other but only one will make it into the round of eight this is run number one the first heat of the round of 16 thomas lemoine on the left side of your screen thomas zeta on the right lemoyne comes out with a solid gate keeping that streak rolling looking confident nice truck driver to x up triple combo right there these flat turns are going to be tricky after that rain coming through lemoine just taking the lead looking comfortable i'm so down with this spine on the course right now yeah the little bubba scrub flip bar spin to x up nice combo there oh and then thomas zeta like that's what i miss from slope style zeta has the best super tail ups i can't wait for a slow-mo replay of that but he's got those long legs and he just extends so far lets that bike just dangle out in front of them so thomas lemoine crossing the finish line first by 1.4 and this is the way it works we give the judges an opportunity to kind of crunch the numbers assign some values to these tricks and then we'll chisel away at those times and decide what that final deficit is so they can get back up to the top here's the replay looked like both riders had pretty clean runs a little over rotation there by zeta but not enough to really slow him down too much lemoyne just looking solid all the way through you've competed in these yeah cam yeah i mean like my last year competition speed style was up and running look at that super weird there it is so i've uh i've tasted it it's it's a good time what's the what's the plan if you do make a mistake and you do lose a little speed do you go for bigger tricks to try to make up that time 100 that's what's so cool about this is there's such an element of improvisation involved there if you do mess up one of the gates you know you know what i'm not going to catch up to that racer's back wheel right now so i better do a bigger trick and just do everything i can so you see these racers rolling the dice if they get behind by a little bit especially when we get into times like the round of four where the pressure's really on and they can start to taste that metal all right next heat in the gate here cade edwards on the left side of your screen going up against bernd winkler of bernd winkler a kid who's got a lot of tricks he's from austria and uh he's out on the fmb world tour trying to get those points for slope style we haven't seen him in a diamond level event like crank works yet and this is what you see these racers this is the form of competition actually the slopestyle competitors i should say this is the form of competition they can do it crank works and it can help kind of build their name especially if you take out a pro racer like kate edwards what do you know about cade there andrew well i mean he's just yeah well i mean he is a junior world champ but he's becoming one of the most iconic writers on instagram i think you know i was down in south africa with him writing dark fest he is focusing on his racing but he's a young motivated kid and you know what i saw him flying through the air when he got his seat buzz on a 360 but i mean he's got more talent i think in his pinky than i have in my whole body i mean it's just uncanny what he can do on a bike but when he was in slalom he went out early i could hear the frustration in his voice so he's so competitive as well and i know he's gonna want to do well here and he's got a big bag of tricks as you said in lockdown those guys pretty much went at it and learned a lot of new tricks i think lockdown kind of changed the game for speed and style because a lot of the racers the ones who can't sit still especially guys like you know kate edwards and his best friend chaos seagrave these guys pretty much became slope style athletes in quarantine when they didn't have anything else to do no races to travel to and it's been fun to watch on instagram yeah it's just a product of of you know crank works and these events they've been around long enough this is what these kids are growing up watching and and they're a product of it you know some of the the best bike control out there you know anybody hands down yeah the sport has progressed away from just downhill or just cross country or even marathon cross country enduro was added but let's not forget like you said crank cooks has really given them an avenue to show what they can do on a bike lots of people rode pump tracks everyone used to dirt jump but there wasn't a place to showcase that so we see why we had that red flag right there a little bit of a chorus delay looks like a gate maybe was knocked over it's okay this happened in slalom and it happened on the first run and then it never happened again so this is the only time i like that this is just like uh we're just getting settled in yeah yeah i like that working out the kinks well we gotta we gotta love this footage we're able to capture from the aerial drone right now and as you can see we got some spectators on on the side of the course there which is a nice change from last year we were out here in october last year well i wasn't out here i was in a studio somewhere talking about the racing that was taking place here but it's a nice sign of things slowly getting back to normal it's been opened up for some select spectators these are people who are volunteers people who are key community members here in innsbruck and i know everyone in innsbruck is really excited to welcome the world-class riders here but also show how much this place has to offer if you're thinking about a mountain bike vacation you're trying to decide where to go definitely consider innsbruck austria and hey maybe come visit us at crankworx in 2022 if we're able to get everybody out here we'd love to see you we're going to be able to look back at our last run right now between thomas lemoine and thomas zeta while we're waiting for them to fix that flag hey we got the drone angle oh nice yes all the way down i love the way these drones are really giving you that ex that first hand experience of what it kind of feels like to get down these tracks you know looking ahead to the next obstacle as they're going through so with that angle it kind of makes me think about you know these course changes compared to the last couple years and maybe why they did it the racing previously on this course has been so incredibly tight that the tricks are almost the only things that differentiate because it's kind of one line one speed but having that scrub roller right there you know in in combination with those flat corners it just gives another opportunity to really separate the racers that's something that you would be able to speak toward andrew yeah they've really given the riders a little bit of option you know if they're really good at scrubbing that that wall they might better make up some time if they've given away on a trick or something but you see thomas lemoyne yes he's known for his tricks yes he's in slope style but he's easily one of the fastest guys track speed and the rollers down into the jump i think that's a good addition because those guys can dictate the exact speed they want to hit a jump and last year i think they were sometimes coming in a bit fast they messed up their braking there's a really challenge to do a big trick there that's a really good point look at this gate drop kane edwards against bernd winkler yeah double truck from cade and bernd winkler has been putting in some training i've seen on his instagram he's been at the bmx track trying to do some starts but kate yeah man he is just a racer at heart yes he's got all those tricks but he is carrying some huge track speed so cade with the straight back flip and burn to the back flip double barspin so allen that plays right into what you were talking about yeah exactly both riders were charging all the way to the end and i i think you know burned maybe saw that he was a little bit behind and maybe he switched it up or he had that plan but you know he's definitely going to add those scores and we'll see how close they were 0.787 on the time let's see when we get the trick scores in so cade with a better trick up top keeping it simple on the bottom well they had the same trick up top i should say they were both doing a truck driver i think but i think kate had a double truck driver yeah i think he did catch throw catch and i mean he's coming off for 21st or something at league and now he's doing a double truck drive on the first jump here in speed and style a week later and he's charging through all of the obstacles the whole way down you can tell he's pumping everything for its worth so if burned winkler wants to have a chance to have an advantage going into their second run here he's gonna need to do something like this back flip double bar spin and i would imagine he's going to get full points for this because the execution was perfect no bobbles there at all let's see what we got [Music] so kade was of course the winner of speed and that's one once they've factored in the scores there we go it it trimmed that margin yeah so bernd winkler doing what he needed to do to make it more possible for him to upset kate edwards in the second run trimming that margin down to 0.8 yeah that was a double truck we got a good angle of it there yeah he's going to take just a little bit off the top give him a little bit better chance coming into that second round you know we haven't seen these courses develop yet after the the crews were out there and fixed them up so you know we they look super super even right now and it should cause for some really good racing yeah sometimes as the day goes on we start to realize the personalities of these sides and one side kind of manifests itself as the faster line but right now they're looking pretty even we'll see as we get more riders going through them more evidence but kate edwards with the advantage over bernd winkler can't believe these riders are throwing double bar spin back flips and racing at the same time that's the craziest part that's why we love speed and style and we're looking forward to our next heat it's going to be greg watson oscar nagy we were talking about that heat at the top of the show as we were peeking out our brackets greg watts a writer who's well accomplished in speed style also came from slope style he won joyride in 2009 he was third here in 2018 so 0.8 is what winkler will have to make up and there's greg watts in the gate going up against oscar nagy the hungarian dirk jump slope style rider who definitely works his way around the world traveling riding he's got a great training compound at home in hungary he used to come visit us in outside california so greg and oscar know each other and they're off and running greg with a solid start out the gate you can tell he's been at the bmx track out in reno where he's from now greg i would say he's fast but maybe he relies a little more on his tricks he's found himself on the podium a handful of times and tricks are usually leading the way oh wow osgoode down on that dirt spine that's what's crazy about that spine man when you see people who are really scrubbing on that you know it's so much commitment because if it goes wrong it's consequential it's you know you go straight to flat yeah and if you see the guy next to you a little bit ahead it's almost like a game of chicken do not break yourself so greg watts is going to skate through this first round oscar nagi will have the max differential which looks like two seconds today in cliff speed style they take into consideration the average duration of a run on the course with you know the maximum you can get with the best tricks and decide what the maximum differential is and basically oscar's going to have this crash right here but still have a chance to knock out greg when they get back up to the top oh that and there you have it the committed scrub at the back will catch in on the lip on the way over and that was all she wrote greg watso is looking for his first win in dual speed and style he has land on the podium multiple times as alan said he's got a deep bag of tricks you and you've really got to watch closely because it's often a triple uh truck driver on the backflip whatever he's doing you know he's throwing those balls so many times it's tough to spot them yeah he's got hot bars for sure you gotta you gotta pay attention a lot of times you don't know how many times he accepts or one-handed except or throws the bars until you see the replay yeah cam and i had to go wait sometimes to the slo-mo to check you know how many did he actually do did he really commit and do three bass pins there and he's so crafty too he'll he'll keep some combos to himself let's see what he's doing right now he'll keep some combos to himself and so you know his competitor will be in the gate next to him predicting what he might be doing but he'll have some sneaky extra bar spin or extra x up he'll do or he'll catch the bars and do a suey after it just to get a couple more points out of it and just really milk it yeah he's the type of rider that if he's behind he can really really throw one of those tricks down and get max points there there's not all that many riders that can do that thomas lemoyne i think is one guy that can craig watts and maybe thomas jannon i mean that is going to be exciting later on that is really going to be a rider to watch he has won in whistler back in 2016. so great to see him in the field yeah we're going to see him later down the brackets taking a look at our next heat in the gate we got a crank works fixture right here the veteran kyle strait going up against martin rot from poland he was sixth place here in innsbruck in 2019 and that was a full field of international competitors so six plays is super impressive making it into the round of eight so kyle's straight right now a guy who got a lot of crank works medals back at home he's gonna have to get past martin roth who's got a whole lot of tricks yeah carl a former winner in lache in 2018 so he knows how to get the job done great start from carl street [Music] yeah kyle having a little bit of a slow start at this crank works campaign maybe not finishing where he would want to in the slalom so you can see he's charging here yeah backflip bossman from him so he'll score pretty good on the first jump pretty standard technique over that stalwart yes right out of the gate a double win for kyle no way okay i'm gonna tell you why i'm getting so excited i always give kyle straight such a hard time because backflip barsman is his go-to but he doesn't practice it enough he always crashes right in front of us when he's raised stomps it first run here against marching rock and then double whip is something he usually waits for until the round of four or a metal round but he knew going up against a guy like marcin who's got so many tricks he had to pull it all out yeah it's it's awesome to see you're right we get so frustrated because he messes up that pack for the hospital so many times and then the we know how good he is with the double tower but he does like to wait with it yeah he's coming in prepared he's been practicing there's been some of these some of these clips from his backyard where he's got that scrub you look at that double tail i've been pedaling all the way down you knew he locked in solid on those pedals i mean come on when you finish first and you do a double tail up don't slip a pedal and you're on those pedals before you hit those lights that's what speed and style is all about yeah there was no crank arm that was all pedals and straight back on the horsepower so i think marching it was either a backflip bar spin or backflip double bar spin so we're gonna see what the judges do with these scores but kyle had a convincing lead and big trick so i feel like this is going to be a shoe-in for him .673 on the time let's see what the judge's scores come in as so it looks like they have adjusted it now there so that final differential will be about point six with kyle straight in the lead marching rut from poland will be trailing but that's very very manageable there 0.6 [Music] yeah not out of touch at all oh yeah this is what's up i'm down with tim bringer and i'm definitely buying a ticket to watch him go up against victor duhan tim bringer fourth place the last time we had speed in style here also fourth place in slope style last year he was the fmb rookie of the year last season and we were speaking about victor throwing those front flips he's got no peak on so you would think that it's going to be a tricky throws out and there he is already good car he has got a sixth place back in 2019 so he has also got the skills to go through these rounds here but he is drifting back though oh bring her with the scrub a little nose heavy on that one but bring her with the commanding lead wow so that's definitely going to help his cause we cross the finish line second but that front flip barshman is going to score real high and that's kind of his bread and butter when it comes to speed style when we saw victor duhan get a sixth place here before look he had a variation in that top front yeah he's trying to take a foot off maybe going for a neck or something like that yeah you can see bringer here pulling out some speed on him bring her our our third place qualifier that is one place higher than he finished in this event last year so maybe he's coming in with some confidence but yeah look at that that's a shot for our highlight reel right there you know like mountain forward style highlight reel double whip on one side front flip bar spin on the other let's talk about tim bringer for a second because this is something that you know i feel like is worth talking about he's competing in the slope style tomorrow and usually slope style is the main event so you would imagine you know for a rider who just barely made it in off of the alternate list you would just say all right i'm not doing speed and style but the fact that he's going for it here shows what kind of rider he is yeah i mean he's here he's here right it's going to be easier for him to ride than to watch ride so .9 is the advantage for tim bringer over victor duhan and we got the next heat lining up in the gate it's going to be jackson goldstone and elof lind jackson goldstone i mean he is he's pretty much like crank works grew up with him and he grew up with crank works yeah i'm really excited about this i was watching him in his qualities he came in 11th place qualifier i was watching his mom force-feed food force-feed water getting him padded up straight up to downhill practice so he's doing a lot of events look at that backflip flower spin textbook yes yeah he's a star for the future but a star for now he's got a deep bag of tricks as well nice and stylish over the stall he's got a good gap here going into the last jump wow one footed camper jackson goats on a backflip triple bar spin for elof land oh my that is the trick you need for speeding style right there if you're behind he's a swedish rider there's a video of him on instagram doing a backflip triple bar spin into an airbag but it was a lot of air time on that jump so i was thinking who knows if he's going to be able to bring that one to the speed of style course but if he does it can shake things up and there he goes yeah he's got a deep bag of tricks so that's awesome to see him throwing those down he needs to though because jackson was way ahead on the speed let's talk about jackson and his racing right now with the first world cup scene this kid's on a tear yeah second place in the junior category he's got his sights set on world cup watch how deep he goes on this flip comes in very hot after that scrub pumps these rollers for everything they've got and watch big can cam flip all the way to the bottom yeah that's the challenge when you're so good to the rollers carrying those speed and this course let's make note it is drying up it's going to start running faster and faster and these riders need to adjust into these jumps so jackson goldstone crossing the finish line with a nice advantage there i don't even think a backflip triple bar spin is going to be enough to upset that lead jackson with a smile on his face so here we go after it's been adjusted jackson goldstone extends his lead to 1.4 looking good going into their second round yeah he's having a good time out here isn't he's really able to sort of stretch his talents and put them into into play in multiple categories to come straight off a world cup come here do well in crank works multiple events i mean he's got to be having the time of his life it's kid in a candy store for him like you said he's so excited he's forgetting to eat for getting to drink so luckily he's got his support crew here to help him with that yeah it's a family affair for sure [Music] so pizza kaiser you're going to hear a big cheer for him right now because he is an innsbruck local he was sixth place here last year i'm sure we've you know it's obvious we have less of a crowd here than usual but they still get loud for their local boy he's going to be going up against theodore kovac from the czech republic talk about triple bars in a backflip he's got them as well and double backflips in his at his training ground he's got a big big bag of tricks what can he throw down on his jumps though well this track is definitely ready to go so these guys will not be holding back is that a pair of double trucks there i think it might have been yeah kaiser definitely with a double truck i couldn't quite see teodor kaiser looking like he has an advantage coming into the scrub wall [Music] let's see what we have over the last hit peter kaiser back foot barsman and it looks like theodore got it back to the barspin as well yeah i saw twitch i he looked like maybe he was one wanting something more yeah i think maybe going for the x as well but it didn't quite pan out that's how it goes in speed and style you you start the trick that you have in your mind it doesn't work you're like well i gotta just wiggle something and maybe turn it into something else each other on that first jump so it's all down to the second jump and a bit of speed here so local boy kaiser looking to go better than last year so here's what replays are all about let's watch theodore here did he get it looked like he got the bar but he was going to try to get something afterwards yeah like you said just the excitement of the moment you know still in the air wanting to get some more points just seeing those points cutting these corners completely tight loving these aerial shots really getting uh an idea how they've carved this course into the hillside we're waiting on the scores here for the last run between peter kaiser and theodore kovac they got to find out what those results are so they know what they got to go up there and prepare for it looks like here's the final here all right peter kaiser has the advantage and it's going to be point six now that the trick scores have been factored in so he extends it by just about a tenth of a second point six so peter kaiser gets a star next to next to his name and we got the next heat in the gate this will be a good one all right so tom iced a guy who's been climbing the ranks in slope style and free ride he got an 11th place here last year in slope style and thomas jean on the winner in whistler speed style 2016 the second place qualifier here and another slopestyle competitor from for tomorrow [Music] yes janone's got up one of the deepest bag of tricks out here in today's field yeah and he's a great bike handler double tail up for him i don't know if tom landed that no i don't think so wow was that a cash roll right off the bat right off the bat not holding back but he knew he kind of had to because thomas jenner is no slouch in the speed such a great bike handler qualified in second so tom come on 3k go for it when tommy g's just doing one for the crowd i'm just like crossing my fingers come on hook me up with a three table he's easily one of the most stylish slow style riders i think yeah he's got such a flow too most of the other riders will tell you that too yeah he's like he's like the competitor's favorite rider to watch he's just got so much control over that bike so much style we're taking a look right now and tom eisted going down on what looked to be a casserole we're gonna have to wait for that replay tom i said is such a sender that guy like you were out at darkfest tell me about him down there i was about to say i mean there's a few guys that are just happy to send it all day all the time and tom isaid is one of those guys he really just oh it was a quick sound it was not a casual down in dark face so the core except he just didn't get back behind it enough over yeah he was throwing back flips front flip variations all sorts of things on the biggest jumps in mountain biking at the moment so that was awesome to see obama for him to go down but he had to lay it all on the line even though it was around 16. yeah when you're going up against a second place qualifier it might as well be a gold medal match up so you got to treat it as such but tommy g going to take the advantage hopefully tom eisted is feeling good enough to be able to take his second run in his first round of 16 bracket we're gonna put a star next to tommy g and take a look back up at the top of the course we're gonna get right back to the start of the order the first time we're going to be switching sides and dropping them for run number two thomas zeta on the left side of your screen he's got 1.7 to make up behind thomas your number one qualifier and this is a knockout round so one of these riders will be going home early one of the fastest riders on track and has a deep bag of tricks oh des moines manually and all the rollers down there right into a backflip bar it's going to x up zeta with the super flip that triple man i saw him do that in practice and i was like oh got lucky on that one but apparently no he's been doing it all through practice and he's even done doing it in the race such a talented bike rider so i think it'll be safe to say he should be advancing i mean talented and confident too because there's so much at stake if you don't have the exact right speed you're expecting on that last jump and if you drop that manual you're going to be going slower yeah just sort of flexing into that looking cool calm and collected that's for sure look at that one two three come on right into the backflip bar to x but i love that super whip out of thomas zeta that's one of my favorite things when he was competing in slope style i always knew i could look forward to that superman tail whip so thomas lemoine doing what we expect him to do taking that number one qualifying spot and advancing out of the round of 16 into the round of eight [Music] yeah he's just having fun isn't it you can see it on all these riders faces everyone's just happy to be back out here competing against each other riding with their friends again even a little bit of crowd so 0.8 is the differential between cade edwards your leader and bernd winkler now burned expect him to be really digging into the bag of tricks because i don't know if you're going to outrage kate edwards yeah burnt really needs a good start here to put some pressure on and he gets a better one than the first run that's for sure [Music] so burned with a double truck i think kade might have got a triple off there wow that'll really help his cause but he has got the lead though so we're into the speed section of this course this is hopefully where kate can make some ground but he's not keep in mind it's point a between them it's gonna come down to this trick backflip double bars been for burn and kay just holding on there a little bit of a manual there it could be tight man considering these tricks but if cade did in fact get a triple truck instead of a double truck on top that's going to extend as well yeah it seems so he's got 136 points there it seems unless that's must have been a triple truck 136 points and then we're gonna wait for jump two so that just tells you 126 for a double and 136 for a triple double k just staying on the course there swerving around the timing you can see both riders all that excitement there and the finished corral you know they're both really giving everything they have just riding on the edge what we saw in last night as we get closer to the end of the night how much it just progressively heats up that's already happening here in our first knockout round [Music] here we go kate edwards advancing into the round of eight he'll be going up against thomas lemoine that'll be one to watch for as if we're not gonna watch any of them right we're gonna watch one i'm gonna watch all of them very closely i'm watching this one right here greg watch with the max differential over oscar nagy so our max differential is 3.7 it turns out oscar actually did cross the finish line i believe it's good to see him back out remember he crashed scrubbing that scrub wall wow yeah that looked like a triple truck though if my eyes are serving me well here but greg watts he can play it a little bit safer that's a lot of time he's got all right this goes a little bit back in what we talked about even though greg knows he's got the lead he can't cut off the throttle too much and give him too much of an advantage yeah exactly you see that greg's still going for the backflip suicide no hander when he's got a 3.7 advantage most people just do a flip right there when you got that big of a not greg watts he's so confident taking the hands off the balls spinning the balls like allen tell me about a backflip suicide because you don't see people doing that very often because most of the riders out there are only using one break but you see greg doing it why yeah it's a rare thing you know when i've tried this and it does not work if you do not stop the front wheel and you take your hands off because of the gyroscopic effect the bars will not stay straight so you need to actually hit the front brake and stop the front wheel and then take your hands off so it's quite a technical move nyquist i think is probably one of the other ones that comes to mind when you think about it but yeah greg with with all the the flip bar spin tricks and the flip no handed tricks that's all you know brake control there's a lot going on when you do that and at the point where he's at it's just reflex that was a triple truck from oscar there but yeah you know greg grew up watching ryan nyquist and just totally developed a really similar riding style so he's been doing it for ages he learned all these tricks and the pool in my parents backyard we had a kicker and greg's out there we always made sure that the pool bike had a front brake on it so greg could get his nyquist tricks in yeah he's almost like a mirror image the way he rides the start on the bike and the boss spins it's you see him riding together it's hilarious yeah it is huh one's on a small bike one's in a big well actually no nyquist came over to mountain bikes fair enough that was great third place at joyride a few years ago we miss him kyle straight with the advantage over marching rock kyle straight pulled out all the stops in the first round here with his cleaning said he's gonna love it he's definitely been practicing that trick down at straight acres yeah both are pushing real hard through the corners let's see what we got for the last tricks kyle going for the double whip again oh somebody's been practicing yes all right that's what's up that's that's why we want to see kyle's straight ride all the time he's been he's been hit in the backyard compound still doing two or three pedals after catching the double whip yeah he's been practicing he's ready it'll be interesting to see if he changes some of those tricks some riders do come out with a trick that they know is going to get a certain score and they just run with it and they work on the speed as much as they can and they know it's consistent but in those later rounds you're going to hopefully have to really pull out all the stops well kyle always has the speed but when he's dialed on his tricks like he is right now look out look at him just getting around that barrier there he came out a little bit back tire on that flip bar spin manualled a little bit his weight was off and he he you know used his experience was able to get back around not take the penalty and if he does advance he's going to be going up against greg watts we know cam is going to be torn here in the booth on who to root for [Music] so wow wasn't by much right there after everything was crunched together just a half second kyle strait advancing into that round against greg watts look at this fun for the whole family bring out your dog i'm pretty sure that's bernard cruz uh dog which goes everywhere i saw it cruising on the scooter earlier that dog is having a right life on the road here what would that be like being bernard kerr's dog is that a life you'd want i think so because he lives a pretty fulfilled fun life he's all over the show but that dog is on the road with him 24 7. is he a wiener dog is your wiener dog no that's it looks like a spaniel all right tim bringer with the advantage over victor duhan but victor duhan bringing the triggs last round let's see what he's got front flip he gets the one foot and can this time so he's gonna get more points in that first jump look at him victor yeah keeping him honest on the speed here as well we know what he's going to throw on the last jump here have a look folks neck and neck double front flip bars for victor johanna double tail lift for tim bringer crossing the finish line side by side i think we might have had a front flip double bar it's so comfortable going forward oh he could do one he didn't do it though did he no i think ellen's right i also spotted that i think there was a double no bossman in that front flip on the second jump let's wait for the replay we've got to get this reboot yeah very clean all right this is what we need to see so we're looking at the rider on the right which is in black shirt you guys you guys are killing it you spotted that nice work i needed a replay yeah he did get those bars around like following greg watts around you just no you i can't speak you don't even know how many times he's throwing those bars it was so quick and going front oh my goodness you think you know what to expect you don't expect a front flip double barspin that's not a trick you see all the time especially in speed and style i love the progression of this cam we've been doing this for a while and the tricks are just getting better and better oh man it wasn't enough that just goes to show right there that the speed still matters the most i mean the tricks are just an opportunity to pick up some seconds just like you would in a downhill race you know try to earn a little bit of time in a section that you practiced but at the end of the day it comes down to how fast you're riding this course tim bringer riding it fast backing up that fourth place finish last year and advancing into the round of eight all right jackson goldstone and elof lind 0.8 seconds between them jackson with the advantage jackson with a snap out of the gate you can tell he's been practicing perfect flip bar spin looking solid now he's just got to stay calm can't overcook it but he can't give up too much all right jackson goldstein's going to get to that final jump first backflip one foot he can't get a backflip triple barspin for elof lind so really throwing everything he had there he he didn't have the speed he had the deficit so he's going to lay it all on the line and do the triple bar spin backflip yeah he's got such a deep bag of tricks he was switching up trick on the first jump but he landed funny let's see what was it hey elof got a flip bar to tuck no hander wow that is so gnarly what are they scoring i think it was like 136 we saw last time which is right up there near the ceiling of highest scoring tricks it's a quadruple combo i mean if you think about it that way you're like this thing's got a score high so jackson goldstone with the advantage but elof lind pulling out all the stops with the tricks jackson holding his own on that front i mean just the time you need to be able to do a backflip triple bar spin it just it shows to this course this is not a dumbed down jump course it's a race course with real big jumps on it because these guys are having plenty of time to pull off those quadruple combos and more well elof's going deep intentionally to make for enough air time i think you know he's landing pretty far down that landing and you know he's quite a ways past the knuckle by the time he's chucking that third bar spin so next heat in the gate innsbruck's own peter kaiser with the advantage a small one at 6.6 over theodore kovac oh okay we got a 360 double bar to x peter kaiser on the left side of your screen here with the crowd cheering them on tadour kovac making it to the last jump first backflip bar has been an x up it looked like for both of them yeah in unison there looked like we had backflip uh bar spin dax on both sides so we'll see how this really comes out theodore was definitely pushing it there with the speed yeah he needed that because he was down so for him to win the speed there some big tricks from both of them this is going to be a close one i think for the judges to tally up so look back this first jump here you see that peter kaiser you got that late x up there so the winner of this matchup is going to go up against the winner of icestead and jinan which will likely beat genome because iceland's got that max differential so whoever makes it out of this round is going up against a really tough competitor the number two qualifier and here we go peter kaiser advances by just 1 000 of a second so that was really close .005 can you believe that here we go we got dogs out here bring your kids out here fun for the whole family at innsbruck austria crankworx 2021 great to see fans alongside the chorus enjoying themselves and the riders putting on a good show for them thomas genon on the left side of your screen he's got that max differential in his favor tom i said great to see him back on the bike after that hard crash in the corset on the fourth 720. here we go guys last run of this round at 16. and eisted looks like he's just kind of taking deeds oh we know he's not at all taking it show boating for the crowd tom iced it never afraid to throw down double backflip on that first jump and this is a glory right come on three table give me a three table what is he gonna throw on the last one he heard you we're close enough he might have [Music] well you gotta give it to tom eisted for crashing hard on that quark 720 and run number one and then just not only getting back in the gate going for a double flip [Music] yeah you want to advance in this game but if if you're not going to advance that's that's one way to do it hey look good doing it put on a show for the crowd we got dogs and kids out here you gotta you know gotta run around and do entertaining things to keep them happy wow that was so clean as well ridiculous confidence to just throw that down when it doesn't actually forget it that's what's up right there i love how he stalled it out too he kind of waited looked like he was looking to see if you were going to watch dude i made eye contact you better give me that three table tommy g so right on tommy g your number two qualifier moving into the round of eight we got to give it to tom i said for putting on a great show for the crowd and us here in the booth you at home i hope you're enjoying yourself in the cliff speed and style innsbruck day three a competition out here we've got a round of eight set for the men which means it's going to be time to focus over to the women's category because we got a stacked field of eight for them as well and that's going to be exciting i'm looking forward to seeing the women take this course waiting for the official word right here we know tommy g is advancing but here we go they're going to settle this in a round of rock paper scissors ah tom says but but i won the rock paper scissors okay fine is there a rule book about rock paper scissors that's how andrew and i decide who's getting shotgun in the morning there we go round of eight set for the men lemoyne your number one qualifier making it out of his round of 16 he'll go up against cade edwards watson straight u.s first u.s that's gonna be a good one take a look at these last two well bring it and golds and the youngster they're gonna go match up and then kaiser local hero but he's going against tommy g yeah we still have number one and number two qualifiers there at the top and the bottom they're going to be getting a little closer but it's it's not set in stone they still have a lot of really good riders to get through yeah i mean qualifying first doesn't mean you're going to go through to the final i mean you've got to throw down some pretty big tricks and you can easily crash on them so we had casey brown up here in the booth the cliff athlete for the cliff speed and style innsbruck but we also caught up with her earlier record a little interview take a look so how do you like inspire oh man innsbruck is amazing it's such a cool place there's all these massive mountains everywhere and you get to explore yeah it's just one step and then you're in nature [Music] oh it's so hot [Music] how about you do you get to take time for yourself between all your extreme sports oh my gosh i can't believe how much you've done already today every day outdoors is a special day yeah to go flying or hiking just for a little while between i don't know university things it's just a refreshment for the mind and for the body and it's so nice to have all that so close to the city and just go out and have a little break or have the full day in the mountains yeah yeah that's awesome there's a flying person right there [Music] wow well casey brown is doing it right hanging out with an innsbruck local who obviously does it right it sounds like she does some speed flying which is we talk about this being gnarly speed flying you're not getting me out on one of those things that is wild yeah i'm a land mammal myself i don't i don't belong in the air or the ocean so we've trimmed the men's field down to eight which means we now get to feature the women's category because we have a stacked field of eight for them as well in that field we're keeping our eyes on jordy scott undefeated in this discipline we were talking about this at the beginning of the show when we had casey up here we never get to say that undefeated in a discipline in general she's one of the only two events for women's dual speed and style that's ever taken place so that'll be fun to see her but right now we've got our reigning queen of crank works via verbeat going up against paula zabasa yeah i'm excited for this women's category you know that the the learning curve and the elevation of their riding has just gone through the roof now that there's platforms to really let them showcase yeah and is only 20 years of age she's been learning some new tricks as well doesn't manage to pull one off on the first jump but bayer has been second in this event for four down and row to rue so can she go one better qualifying number one spot so it is looking good for vaya [Music] so number one qualifier with a nice lead here a tuck no handle on the last jump way to go paula zabasa the innsbruck local doing it for the crowd there so vivever beak with a tuck no handle on the first jump but tuck no hander on the last jump she's running that full-on trail bike we had that bike check with her earlier and you saw in the men's category a whole lot of 26ers a lot of hardtails a lot of short travels so viver beak choosing the full trail bike which if you're doing tricks like tuck no handers it's nice and stable it's going to help but also on a course that just had heavy rain earlier in the day it's going to be nice for those flat corners and seems to be working great for yeah and via such a such a good rider and so many different categories at some point you can only bring so many bikes right it's not unlimited so it is cool to see her racing in multiple disciplines on some of the same bikes in multiple disciplines but then multiple bikes as well just really shows that versatility that's what's great about modern day trail bikes if you do have to just pick one bike you can go right down the middle grab that trail bike you're going to be able to do anything you want it's not going to be the perfect bike for everything but it'll absolutely do anything there we go viver beak you're a leader going into their second run okay so those tricks helped her they really helped her there she was only too odd on the speed but then she got a lot of help from the tricks so wow that's going to be tough for zybasta to get back in the next heat all right keolani hines all right here we go the kiwi robin goombs why are we so excited to watch her you guys well spoiler alert there may or may not be some ladies back flipping these jumps here today we are going to witness the first in competition here [Music] not yet oh a combo it looked like it yeah yeah she dropped the foot yeah but late on the gate so i mean that is going to hurt her speed as you can see oh she is losing so much ground there so keelani is going to make it to this final jump first what does she have for us an e.t and there you have it competition for the ladies oh you have it history being made unbelievably smooth let's put it in the books right now robin goombs from new zealand the first women to backflip in the crank works speed and style competition that was unbelievably perfect as well oh spot on yeah you must think that she'd be thinking about doing that trick all through the run and she couldn't even jump together at the top this is cool okay so we're going to watch this again but a one-hander for keolani it was a one-footer to one-footed can-can for robin and then she had baubles she was behind by bit but guess what only an e.t for kealani and a backflip so she was back by two seconds that might be close enough to where she can maybe have the advantage let's see [Music] it's so cool to see this progression just giving giving the women the platform and a place to do it they're all pushing themselves so so strong and it's really showing the learning curve is very very steep i mean with stuff like this speeding style for the women stuff like formation that took place out in utah this is such a important time for women free ride yeah formation such a cool platform like not just the riding but also the digging and the building and they're just really getting into the whole thing and it's just so cool to see that platform be out there [Music] okay what do we got what do we got winner speed keolani of course she was ahead by two seconds but goombs with a bigger trick on both jumps what's it gonna be oh it's so close so she shaved off 1.1 second but she's gonna have to be closer she's point nine back still well she can clean up that run she's got a real shot at taking down colony heinz i really must think that it was wayne on her mind that she's gonna do the backflip and she was just too ahead of herself and couldn't get through the turds yeah she was a bit stiff there but it was really good to see her get it off there is you know there's always the opportunity in the next run here we go jordy scott undefeated in this discipline going up against gemma corbeira there's video of her doing backwards we haven't seen her do it on the course yet let's see what happens jordy scott with the tire grab looked like gemma going for so jordy scott looking for the three-peat she only qualified in third so maybe not carrying as much speed down this track as she would have hoped for [Music] tuck no hander for jordy scott and a back big hit for her gemma let's hope she's okay yeah a little nose heavy a little bit short kind of the the worst nightmare combo let's hope she's okay she is moving gemma corbeira going down on that backflip yeah when you come to that point at the end of the rotation and you're spotting that landing and it's right up in your grill that is a very helpless feeling yeah usually you can kind of see it coming because you're wondering where the landing is because by now you should have seen it and there's only one or two things that could be wrong you could be under rotating or you could be coming up short it looked like unfortunately on that one she had a little bit of both yeah we do see some movement so hopefully she's okay she looks a little more concerned about how straight her bike is that maybe she's already thinking about the next run so there we go gemma up and pushing her bike off the side of the course great to see she's one of the ones pushing the limits out here for women and dirt jumping women in free ride and i did see a lander in practice so the pressure of the event just getting to her but hey wow that was amazing to see her go for that unlucky with a crash there yeah when you're on the forefront of progression and then you get iced with the rain the changing conditions but she still went for it it was good to see so here we go we get the replays now that we know she's all right tough geez look at that her leg was so wrapped up in the bike right there that might have been the reason why it took her so long to get up she was tangled up pretty good so jordy scott undefeated in the discipline of women's speed and style at crank works and let me just say in general because there's no other speed in style other than crank works jordy scott getting the advantage in her first run here in the round of eight so hopefully gemma corbeira is feeling all right to get back to the top of the course up there right now we have harriet berbich smith going up against georgia astell so harriet winning the slalom yesterday fifth in the pump track last night georgia astle i mean talking about formation the women's free ride event out in utah she was out there making ways she got an eighth in slalom yesterday yeah both very diverse riders we see harry with that snap right out of the gate you can see bmx coming into play third place qualifier she's got a great opportunity to get some points for the overall yeah and we know as we said she took down the win in slalom so she's going to be one of the fastest on tracks tire grab for her and a seat grab for georgia so winner on speed there harriet berbich smith coming off some momentum from the winning slalom all smiles for them yeah all these athletes just stoked to be out here and and be competing everyone's been been so uh so gracious with the winning and losing the camaraderie between the athletes has been great here's the replays so harriet with the clear lead on the speed that tire grab looked like it was a tire grab to a table she had a little movement there she was going for a combo yeah that's a good call you know in speed and style if you can get one trick done before you've reached your apex you've got the whole way down to try to sneak out a couple more points so we're getting our numbers in right now the aussie oh harriet burbidge smith taking that advantage into their next round georgia now knows what she's got to compete against well ever-changing weather conditions out here today luckily hale's not falling from the sky anymore we've got our competition rolling which is great but of course so many more competitions you know on sunday we're going to be excited about the downhill one of the most exciting riders in downhill george branigan we caught up with him earlier take a look so george we're coming to the bike park jump's one of the best fun things about coming to a bike park but something that often gets people worried what are you doing the first time you come in to jump to keep you safe um so first off i would like to do a warm-up run on on a smaller line smaller jumps and just get comfortable get warmed up just follow someone in also if you have the luxury of that who has done them before and just gauge your speed from there so yeah just those first steps just to get comfortable before hitting them so as we start hitting features in the bike park like this speeds are getting higher you'll notice george and i both have full face helmets on today something to keep you safe if things should go wrong you'll notice i've got a neck brace on as well full face helmets give you that extra bit of protection that trail woods just won't when speeds are very high if you go over the bars the full face helmet's what you want dream track looking good down there in queenstown new zealand been a few years since i've been there i kind of feel like i need to make it back we'll back up to the top of the course right now we're dropping them again thomas lemoyne going up against edwards this is going to be a good heat here the men's round of eight kicking off oh double truck to x from des moines the most decorated speed and style at the oh no edwards he's out slipped a pedal and off the side of the track i don't think he'll be hurt at all with that but he will be disappointed it looked like maybe he was cutting that turn just a little bit too close and and the pole actually took his foot off the pedal lemoyne not checking up at all was he no he had so many was gone he just went with his full flat out run big tricks did you see the the rhythm he held in the in the bottom rollers instead of manning all three he like gapped to manual too i missed that this guy's full of tricks and not all of them happened on the jumps he's so many different ways of riding that roller section good to see cade back up yeah i want to see a replay of that crash i wonder if we have one there's that competitor you see him shaking his head here we go this is going to be a good angle we should be able to see it yeah you're right see what side of that gate he was on i think it was the other foot but it was it kind of all happened at the same time he made contact with the gate wow he's made himself to go oh it slipped no way oh you know you figure he just landed from doing a double truck driver there's a chance he could have grabbed without his thumb on we've seen weird stuff like that happen before haven't we andrew when lemoyne had a bobble in a bar spin landed with his bars backwards but still continued through the the rest of the race with his break on the wrong side speaking of nyquist i've seen him do that mid mid contest run and then just like work it out on the next obstacle like yeah keep going they used to do it on accident bmx he did it on purpose here innsbruck slope style in the on off he intentionally landed with his bars backwards it was so rad oh look at this we got a nice little transition we're talking about ryan nyquist now we've got greg watts up there in the gate a router with a very similar pallet for tricks going up against his good buddy kyle straight america versus america in this one but only one can make it in to the round of four this one's for the bragging rights but also for a spot in the semi-finals so this is run one though these two riders have been competing against each other a very very long time yeah they have and what do you think ellen do you try and play a little safer run and see what your opponents got and then go huge in the next round oh my god i mean this is this is crank works i don't think you hold anything back i think you got to put it all out on the line here's the thing is they're both so fast kyle's being so consistent today but greg has so many more tricks in kyle what is kyle going to choose to do here they're so even sticking with that double tailwind for and yes and greg didn't get as many bossmans as you would have expected in that flip so this could really work into carl strait's favor greg winning the first jump with a 133 versus a 105 so that's going to help him he was fastest on speed as well so it's going to come down to the second jump only 700 between them in the actual race portion yeah both riders charging the course all the way from the top to bottom and almost neck and neck the whole way i mean this just goes to show how good of a slalom racer greg watts is because kyle strait's one of the best slalom racers in the world and greg just crossed the finish line first let's see what greg's tricks were was it just a straight flip no there was a boss but in the flip but okay here we go only one from what i could see oh yeah he just did it real early well greg's got so many more tricks he can do on that last jump if he needs to but he's got seven hundredths right now to play with okay oh even tighter now okay so only a tenth pretty much so there you have it castrate is down but not by much kyle rewarded for that double whip he's so clean with him right now stick with it that's gonna be an insane second run oh yeah here we go tim bringer fourth place here last year going up against jackson goldstone for brainerd will be out he'll get max differential on speed but he still needs to throw down some tricks here yeah he did that barspin to cancam flip and when he did that kancan it threw him a little sideways and when he came down it shot him the opposite direction of the gate so he's going to take the max differential on that one yeah he's a little frustrated don't worry don't worry kid you got a lot of years in front of you yeah just a couple for him he might not believe it now but i'm sure it'll be fine for him yeah i think he's just 17 now or 16 or 17. it's crazy to think because he's been around for so long yeah was it lined up after that flip bar to can miss that gate good extension on that really good extension huh man bringer with that double whip he's got so much time after yeah jackson just just drifted a little bit to ryder's right and was just not pointing in the right spot there it doesn't look like the wind is affecting anything but he's within distance there if he can step up those tricks and really get that speed down it'd be interesting to see what happens to that differential now with the missed gate that graphic didn't tell the whole story so we'll see when we get them back up to the top for their second run just how much work jackson goldstone has ahead of them and pizza kaiser the austrian rider hailing from right here in innsbruck austria going up against the second place qualifier legend of the sport tommy g [Music] double truck driver from kaiser looked like a double tailbook from tommy g those are going to be pretty similar tommy g with the speed advantage coming into the last jump wow stylish from him as well kev you like that truck driving to flatty kaiser with the flip double bar spin he did come into that jump a little off rhythm on those rollers looked like he got off rhythm just a little bit was kind of working against himself it'll be interesting to see what the judges do with that last jump because a 360 bar spin a table a three-part combo a backflip double barspin also a three-part combo so jump two yeah same 126 points for each of those double truck for peter kaiser doubletail for tommy g so very very similar trick scores for both these guys tommy g crossing the line first he's going to be looking good [Music] it's wild when it's that even on the tricks you know it makes it easy to pay attention to what's going on it's just the race [Music] did you like competing in in front of a hometown crowd or was it more pressure for you that's way more pressure it's easier when you're just out there and you just can you know tell the story when you get home you know but now it's like i mean you're in the living room of everybody right now live anyways you know so what difference does it make no matter where you're from your hometown is watching you live but here in the crowd and you know that your friends rather you hear their voice that's pressure for sure yeah there's just a different feeling in your body i think when you're at home wanting to perform more than more than normal all right look at our brackets as they stand right now the l stands for leader thomas lemoyne leading cade edwards greg watts leading kyle strait but not by much tim bringer ahead of jackson goldstone by probably more than that 22.4 we're looking at right now due to that missed gate and then tommy g with only 0.3 ahead of austria innsbruck austria's peter kaiser that's going to be the one to watch ginon is our number two qualifier so he's getting pushed to his limit right here so that's what things look like right now in the round of eight for the men but you know what i really like i'm hoping that's what this is i like eddie masters win masters and i like i like their show i'm a big fan of their wide world of sports and if that's what we have in front of us right now then i'm sticking around let's see what this is all about hi i'm ed masters and i'm matt walker and welcome back to another season of the award-winning sports show the worldwide wide world of sports welcome to australia austria austria austria the event i'm most looking forward to is the downhill race on sunday you want to start at the top of the hill make your way down to the bottom from point a to point b the fastest time from top to bottom [Music] and that's how downhill works most events at crankworx are a head-to-head format speed and style dual slalom and pump track puts riders up against each other and the clock however smokestyle and beating style are a little bit different matt in the slopestyle and spinning style you're going to see riders going huge big tricks big crashes and hopefully he's a big prize and keeping with tradition we're going to close out this episode with a stun [Music] thanks for tuning in to another episode of the worldwide wide world of sports i'm ed masters i'm matt wilker good night okay okay they're obviously upping their game on the wide wide wide world of wide sports but do you think that what was he skiing eddie can ski he did spend a lot of time due to covert in queenstown and they've got a lot of time on ski so i'll i'll get to the bottom of that i'll do my reporting and i'll report back on that does any flip a bike i'm not sure i'm pretty sure it's a phone but it's something you can flip so yeah if that was him on the skis though then we got to get him flipping on a bike if he doesn't already that'll be impressive if he flipped last week coming into uh crank works here oh here we go enough of eddie masters wearing a dress let's go to the women's category here we got paula zabasa and via verbeek with a hefty advantage right now 5.4 by our number one qualifier [Music] our defending queen looking very solid in the early rounds yeah number one qualifier as we said she has had a second in this event before it'll be awesome for a pursuit of the next queen of crankworx title to go on and take a win tonight it's got a really big advantage here so she really doesn't need to do anything silly here yeah just needs to keep her insides get a solid trick off get some confidence for the next round 5.4 to play with for vaya but she still goes for the tuck no hannah to e.t if i'm not mistaken that was one extra trick did she do the et in the first round so she's stepping up she's using this as an opportunity to build confidence into the next round well she's so competitive even if she has a 5.4 advantage she's not going to just cruise and then do no trick you know she just she doesn't like to cross the finish line not the first you know it's it's kind of why she's gotten to where she is paula zibasa great showing here hanging right tight to via ver beak via will be moving into that next round or sorry she's going to have the advantage moving into that next round [Music] so i'm going to be interested to see what they score for that final jump there the tuck no hander to e.t because i can kind of help us here in the future 145 points so there you go if you're in this field and you can nail that two-part combo it's going to be very well worth your while so via our first lady into the semi-finals our number one qualify who will she go up against these are the knockout rounds a round of eight here for the ladies all right so the winner of this round right here will go up against via verbeek the number one qualifier this is a taiwan between kealani heinz and robin goombs robin making waves out here in run number one making history this is very possible for robin if she's able to stay close to keolani here to move into the next round let's see if she throws the big trick on the last jump again and she's way more in touch here over the stall wall this is looking good for robin while she throws the flip again yes she does point flip for it this is gonna really be close and come down to the judges i mean in her first run we said oh she only didn't have that bobble and still flipped she would have been right there that's exactly what happened here she's only back by 0.9 yeah she really she really came in confident after getting that first one out of the way you could tell she just sent it all the way went huge on the flip so smooth landing on the timing light okay is it gonna be enough all right all right one foot of cancan know one hander there kylani getting that one-hander just nice in here and you can hear the crowd too it's awesome just have a limited crowd here we can even hear them from the booth i think you can hear them at your screens at home huge backflip again first one in competition well technically that was the second one but her being the first person to do it well if keilani makes it through she'll be up against via but if robin makes it through then we're definitely ushering in a new name for crank works here robin goombs advances by 0.2 that backflip paying off and right now we're going to keep on progressing this discipline here because we've got our flipper in to the round of four up against the reigning queen of crank works and number one qualifier for beak so this is changing up the sport right now and that's what it's all about for these athletes you know you think about something for a long period of time you find yourself here in the venue and you send it and it works out that's what it's all about what a feeling for she must have a feeling of relief excitement so awesome okay so there we go we remember that crash from gemma corbeira out of spain the last run so jordy scott getting a bye run here jordy scott we've been talking about it a lot she's undefeated in this discipline but you know what this discipline is changing rapidly with robin goombs making it into the round of four doing the backflip yeah that's gonna force the other ladies to learn some new tricks to get out of their comfort zone and that's what it's all about hey you've been there just watching progression and being an athlete and seeing someone else do something you know okay well i've got to now step up my game it's going to be a long hard road yeah definitely i mean that's that's it i mean if i was still having to keep up in today's world the progression now it's it's so insane what they're doing it's really and it is it's from visualizing and seeing it all right georgia astle she's got 3.4 to make up behind harriet burbidge smith burbidge smith won the slalom fifth in the pump track third in the qualities here so she's been on a tear georgia astle there we go with that suicide no handler that's going to serve her well now harriet's going to push real hard it didn't look like she got a trick off on that first jump so she's really going to be relying on speed here yeah it looked like a bit of a hesitation for her and she's almost in a too light gear there i wish she would try a harder gear she might get a little bit more drive than when she's on the pedals harriet with a one-hander there maybe a tire grab and georgia without a trick so there was a lot of uh there was a lot of gap to be made up there and that's not going to happen so harriet burbidge smith it would be interesting you know she'll go up against jordy scott and then if robin's able to knock out via then we're gonna this is gonna be pretty interesting i'm i'm trying to predict the future here i'll just pay attention what's going on so that big advantage serving harriet well here we'll get the official word she had 3.7 and she extended with her tricks so as expected harriet into the round of four going up against jordy scott but take a look at that top bracket there too andrew and just like that the top four seeds are through to the semi-final they're going to have a little break and then we're going to rack them again but via verve your number one qualifier against goombs grooms will be showing though throwing those backflips so that's going to be interesting that's basically going to be speed versus tricks and then down the bottom jordy scott versus burbidge smith your number three and number two qualifiers so there we go the stage is set for the women's round of four as we pick up here with the men kate edwards after that hand slip crash resulting in 4.7 differential thomas lemoyne looking flawless all day let's see if he can hold it together here and get a smooth run into the round of four [Music] triple truck for cade from what i could see there so he is laying it all on the line here he's got to make up so much time he actually needs to force a mistake from le moy wow look at this scrub no way kate edwards getting to the last jump first [Applause] hey goes absolutely huge kate knew he had a big a big advantage to have to make up but he wasn't going to lay up he wasn't going to waste the opportunity to be on course and have all eyes on him and man he just went so so fast and huge on the tricks kate is so wild so deep and sideways on that back foot bar spin on the last jump and what looked to be a triple truck driver on the first jump thank goodness we have replays we're getting them right now yes good eyes andrew needling well look at this scrub going deep there so exciting even though kade had so much to make up he went for it and going deep the track is getting faster and faster the dirt is drying out of course so that's going to be tough for them to gauge watch this landing for lemoine he looked over after catching the bars all right so lemoine he had just a double up there right yeah i like how you say just i know that's where we're at but it is comparing to a triple goodness gracious and kay's just one of those riders you never know what's going to happen at any point in time but you know it's going to be exciting it is honestly the most chaotic thing to watch kade like i said down in darkfest he said i'm just gonna go up for a warm-up run i'm really focusing on the world cup i looked around and i saw a body apart from a bicycle flying to the air on a 50-foot job i'll just leave it there so somehow he's in one piece and that was a few weeks ago he's lucky the andrew's standing there was andrew needling not andrew chandra yeah yeah i exactly maybe he'll tell him now that he got through leo gang he also had one of the biggest crashes of the weekend on a mini bike no yeah if there's a guy that can hit the ground he's one of them these are two guys up here who love mini bikes as well kyle street mini biking around straight acres luckily he's put the mini bike down seemingly he's stomping these flip bars and the double whips but he's gonna need to stop them and go as fast he can because greg watts has the advantage it's a tight one but greg beat him in the first run even on the time and there it is back football has been a suicide no handler for greg so this is greg doing great things but this is where kyle needs to get going because he's gonna be back because of that trick but kyle strait has put the practice in his jumps and tricks have been flawless there's a double tail up again oh greg with the back flip bar spin to bar spin back yep we're at that part of the evening where greg starts to do great things and this could be a final and this is just the round of eight this is for a birth in the semi finals geez what a crazy matchup right there yeah kyle pulling a magic trick out of the hat to get around that gate after the first trick i couldn't see exactly what happened but he he shot off to the right there and did did a mat like i said a magic trick here here's the replay let's see what we get to get back to the gate first like thinking that you have to be on the left side of that gate even though you landed way on the right side of the gate oh kyle slipped a little bit of a pedal there but i mean the technicality of a backflip bar spin to suicide no handers kind of mental and the judges know that so let's see what they award him for it [Music] 133 points for both those tricks all right wow and then you have it greg what only by 1-1 hundreds there greg watts advancing into the round of [Music] four there you have it greg watts advancing to the semi-final he has had so many podiums can it become his knight he's really going to have to pull out all the stops though in that next run because he will be up against thomas lemoyne [Music] all right tim bringer with the advantage over the young gun jackson goldstone 2.4 between them jackson did miss a gate so can he clean up this run flip off for him nice lineup that time skipping that one for can oh he is ahead on speed this is what jackson needs accelerating so fast [Applause] so jackson flipped one foot ken jackson goldstone somebody who trains for world cup downhill racing tim bringer a slope style specialist so jackson playing toward his strengths right there and focusing more on the race than the tricks i think it was a good decision to skip the one foot can after the flip bar on that top jump served him well yeah he stayed focused and was able to get back on the pedals and really shoot for that time i mean like you're saying we got a world cup racer we got a slope style rider and they're clashing on this course and they're competing against each other and it's really cool to watch double truck for tim bringer yeah expect him bring her to be chucking triple tails tomorrow in the slopestyle look how early he caught those pedals so we didn't see an extended differential there after missing that gate so he's back by 2.4 before this no that's going to be tough tim obviously a bit of trick so he will advance tim bringer looking to back up his fourth place finish in speed and style here last october he moves into that round of four so he's guaranteed himself at least that yeah he's guaranteed himself a fourth so he can't do any worse than last year jackson he's got many more years ahead of him but thomas jennings great to see him back in speed and style we didn't see him for a long time he's a former winner of this event in whistler also competing in tomorrow's race uh joyride so local peter kaiser you can hear the crowd whoa it's a double truck driver to except i'm correct on peter kaiser but tommy g is out front on the speed portion of this race tommy g with a double tail up up top what does he have for us he's getting to the final jump first wow double try for tommy gina look like a flip double bar from peter maybe trying to squeeze something else there yeah and pushing the front front end out there as far as he can just trying to get every tenth and thousand feet i mean you've seen how close some of these these matchups have been it's every little bit's gonna count [Music] i like that paint job uh once again might i remind you fun for the whole family out here crank works innsbruck bring your dogs bring your kids throw them all in a tractor go around for a nice little scenic tour they do love a tractor on the way here i actually saw a tractor you know how they go for like a a coffee run with a nice porsche that sort of thing nope restored tractors there are about 25 on the road going 20k an hour we were stuck behind them but there was some beautiful beautiful resort tractors here in austria so peter kaiser trying to squeeze every ounce out of this last jump trying to get as many points as possible 360. one bar spin two bar spin and look at this he goes let me get an x up there too why not and tommy g even looks good doing a tail up and he's flying to the air off his butt everything i mean he he looks good just drives down the street a tractor you know yeah he would look good in those tractors i saw well you know there are lamborghini tractors yeah they just don't quite go as fast as him annoyingly though tommy g making it happen moving into the round of four really good to see we're excited to see him back here in speed style but also we're looking forward to watching him in slope style tomorrow putting a lot on his plate this crank works innsbruck yeah these riders that are competing in tomorrow's slopestyle they're not holding back are they look at him here we're looking good check out our brackets andrew yeah so there we have it number one qualifier most decorated speed and style at the thomas lemoy no surprise there but greg watts is a deep bag of tricks and he's always willing to throw them down and there we have it tommy g number two qualifier against tim bringer your number three qualifies so the top five qualifiers so it almost went to plan here for the men this is going to get exciting this is the semi-finals cool check it out we got four riders there in the men's field three of which have medals in this discipline and one who doesn't so tim bringer an opportunity to join an elite club there if he's able to grab that bronze medal but now it's time for the women via verb beak this is this is the one i'm probably most excited about this is crazy vivever beak reigning queen of crank works number one qualifier going up against robin goombs the woman who's changing the face the women's speed and style right now with that backflip what will the story be so if goombs now that she's confident doing the backflip maybe she can focus a little bit more on the speed because she's gonna need to do that against the likes of bayer a little bit sluggish there in the roller at the top there so strap yourselves in she's been backflipping this all day and there you have it again [Applause] nice one robin goons consistent with that back flip via verb going for the tuck no hander which is going to be a defensive move right here she does cross the finish line first by 1.3 but that backflip is going to score a lot of points yeah goombs is just building confidence each run you can see her she is charging the course she did have a faster run on the second run in the last round but you can see she's going to have to step up that speed if she wants to defend and keep moving on against vaya okay so just after these okay so they've moved on but she was a bit sluggish there at the top [Music] i'm not trying to call her out but when i was chatting with her earlier there she did these words came out of her mouth well maybe i'll just spin both jumps yeah so we'll see what happens she's got something maybe if she was willing to do that that's definitely going to help her case so maybe in the next round now she's going to be forced to do that it's not as uh you know the run into the first jump i don't think yields as much easy speed as the one for the last time you got a long straighter with those rollers of the last jump so it makes a lot of sense to flip and you're not coming into the first jump as fast you don't you don't hit it as hard and uh so if she's able to kind of flex her muscle and push herself out of her comfort zone it could be really beneficial [Music] dogs [Music] people having a good time it's so good to see people back at events and be racing in front of people yeah restrictions are lifting in austria and it's great to see the limited fans here they're having a great time and so are we because we are getting into the heat of the speed and style jordan scott she is undefeated looking to three-peat here but she's got a work cut out against harriet burberry smith who's riding high on confidence oscars after a slalom wind [Music] on the speed portion of it jordan scott looking for that three-peat harriet burbidge smith keeping her honest here into the last jump and both these riders just back on the pedals as soon as they land it's you know the it's a race from start to finish in their tricking the whole way down it's it's one of the more impressive formats that i've seen yeah we're mixing racing speed tricks from slope style and then throw in a mix of strategy and you've got to have a hit on top of that shoulders to decide what to do and when to do it [Music] so i don't believe jordy had a trick on the first jump which is going to hurt here all right will the numbers be here harriet with a tiny advantage in the race let's get these jumps factored in here jordy scott once it's all said and done there we go all right so if you're watching these races and you're thinking i need to improve my skills well we got something for you pink bike and ben catherine have been teaming up for some how-to tutorials take a look at a sample if the goal is to make sure your head stays nice and stable then the plan is to make the bike follow the shape of the train while your head just floats along above it it's the separation that is the key to remaining smooth and controlled so if you did nothing in terms of technique you would find yourself just getting sent sky-high in the air so i'm going to stand up tall i'm going to let the bike come up into me just to push the bike forwards which moves my weight back this helps to stop me from getting spat forward too much well thanks a lot ben catherine check out pink bike they're going to be launching the first episode of their tutorial series next week that skill comes into play on this course on that squash wall yeah all these riders are forced to use that technique on that one for sure all right men's semi-final look who we have up there thomas lemoyne the guy who's been on a tear he's won the last couple events we got greg watts who's really on fire today right now so can he knock out lemoyne [Music] [Applause] moines look how fast he's going on the speed sector of this and greg is no slouch on a bike yeah greg is going to really have to say oh big tricks from the boy way lemoyne with the back flip tuck no hannah to bar spin and i mean that just goes to show how fast lemoine is really going right now the speeds he's putting down because you know craig was finishing ahead of kyle straight in the last round and he was so far back from le moyne the number one qualifier but look at lemoy and he's keeping it close to his chest look at the tricks he's willing to pull out here in the semi-final i wonder what more he's got if he made it to a final and need to step it up look at that he's peeling skin off his knuckles right now it's not because he crashes because so much is going on with those handlebars when you're doing a 360 triple bar spin and look at the speed look how fast he is going just gapping greg what's yeah over that stall like it's nothing but greg actually had some bobbles here we saw from this aerial view yeah it looked like the bars moved a little bit on the flip bar to no hander when he grabbed back on it looked like he might have grabbed the brake and it slowed him down for that next section here we go yeah this is the first jump here we go so the front wheel is stopped he catches the bars he takes the hands off they move a little bit a little bit sideways when he catches up with him yeah i couldn't really tell there but he did have a little bit of an issue after that keeping up the speed and lemoyne really accelerated through that section yeah really a perfect run on his part greg kind of tagged into that first rhythm section rear wheel which caused him to lose a lot of speed so what that does tell us is well that that graphics wrong but also that without a bauble craig's greg's gonna be closer so once we get that real differential they're just messing with greg he's like oh yeah practical jokers remember when lemoyne did some sort of bossman combination and mr barn was halfway you know his bars were literally 180 the wrong way and he rode to the course pretty quick and then didn't he flip the last one with the balls running around and then think about he was thinking of trying to get them the right way around and then he just landed with them 180 the wrong way that's how much skill he has imagine being his competitor they had that little chat that they do the finish line right there and he's like oh yeah look this is my bars were like this the whole second half of the run yeah i still kept up with the nfl the last jump yeah yeah i saw what happened there with greg when he came down that next gate he was a little late on the turn and you could see he had to lock up the brakes and it's right before a section where momentum is key so yeah it was once that happened it's really only so much he could do so big mistake from greg watts here we'll have a look potentially smashing into the gate there so maybe that's why we got that 51 second cap there we just found out our max deferential is actually 51 seconds yeah so greg watts with a mistake that he's gonna have his work cut out when they go to the top where they'll switch lanes and then it'll be run two of the semi-final there we go we got a future crank works competitor there we go this is when we introduced trials she's a future crank workshop it's about the age and size when i met jacksonville for the first time in wesley exactly and then before we knew it he was out competing at crankworx we've seen it happen before i'm sure these kids were seen out there are going to be influenced we might see him between the tape in a few years happens quick so one of the things you can guarantee is the level of the sport is always going to build there's always going to be that next jackson goldstone it's just going to build and build when you think you've seen the ceiling it just they just surprise you every time we keep seeing that happen too like crank works travels the world they go to a new venue and then a few years later these top dogs are coming out of that area because they've been influenced by it they got they got the bug [Music] so thomas lemoine will draw a star next to his name they'll figure out by how much that's for them to figure out and we'll focus our attention on the next heat tim bringer going up against tommy g tim and tom here number three qualify number two qualifier go and edit yet run one of the semi-final like a double truck there from bringer double tower from janon bringer foster the speed six of dominique they are neck and neck over the stall this is gonna come down to this last jump oh yeah oh come on oh my dude i do not want to see janon crash the day before slope style come on 360 bar spin to tail if he gets so far away from the bike i don't think he wants to either but don't bring it with a big trick as well on the last jump yeah another triple combo a double tail with two x up yeah and he managed to stay on the bike but tommy g did not so that's going to hurt his points i mean that's exactly what we've been talking about the last couple runs from tim bringer is he's been catching that double tail up so early with so much air time left that's cool to see him make something out of that extra air time that's going to score incredibly high [Music] double tail up to x that could have been a hard crash both riders just hanging on yeah did not come together look at this look at this slow-mo so much movement so much going on all in one jump it's cool they were side by side on both jumps as well i mean janelle isn't going to get scored that high for that trick because it was such a bauble but i mean he didn't lose much time because it's the last jump he was able to kind of just skid through that timing light so tim bringer crossing the line by only about a quarter of a second ahead of zhanon okay cool so the quarter second is the differential after tricks have been added in so that's going to be a great second run be interesting to see if janon goes for that three bar to whip again or if you get scared off from it considering slope styles tomorrow but back up to the top potential uh big heat here for kind of the progression curve the women's speed and style robin goombs the flipper going up against via verbeek the number one qualifier so can she throw a caution to the win no she does not go for it on the first jump we were hoping here in the booth that she would if she can just get going on the speed just she does have a chance she was cleaner into that manual this time she hasn't and she's a hater here we go get that flip robin goombs back flipping flawless again through the line first this time so focused even getting petals in just maximizing her speed she's got a deficit to make up so let's see what she can do it's all down to this jump number two what will the judges tell us she did the same thing in the previous round she was a little bit short came up a little bit short on time and then made up that difference on the second run [Music] wow this is exactly what we were hoping robin would pull off here is you know lead the run and flip so that's kind of what needs to happen if you're going to knock out the reigning queen of crank works so she's got her tuckner handlers on lockdown does via vervice but look at gomes she is literally just backflipping on demand no issues there got that on lockdown what will the point say you see i'm not agreeing with that 148 points to 135 points i'm not happy about that i'll just put that out there judges come on that is the first backflip for a lady in competition yeah and you're only scoring i'm not happy as you can tell i feel like uh you know well we'll have to talk to him maybe later in the post show or something let's give a chat with him because you know the backflip for the women's category when there's only two doing it you know only one landing it it has to be measured on its own scale so we'll have to see maybe there's more to the story that we're missing right now but via verbeek continuing on into the gold medal matchup now point one four not much in this one it's anybody's game who will she be up against jordy scott with the tiniest of advantages and harriet is fired up pedaling in the air just trying to get every ounce of speed she can she is focused yes she needs to be i wish she would go one taller gear just doesn't look like she's getting enough drive there from the effort she's putting it [Music] there we go it looks like a tire grab for harriet and a tuck no hander for jordy scott i believe that's what i saw [Music] so the the differential was so tight in their first run it's so tight here in the second run it's really going to come down to these points how much is fatigue coming into play for some of these these riders out here this is the fourth event of crank works and it's only friday no a little bit i mean there's a lot of mental fatigue preparing what bike am i going to use all the strategies for these runs but like you said it really does wear on you as the week gets on [Music] well in slalom one of the only ladies to use that technique and she does it well yeah you can see that bmx background she's doing those world cup bmx races she knows how to do it so how much did you say that robin got for the backflip there we go jordy scott advanced my eyes were very bad it looked like 145 but then jody scott whatever trick that was with the 140 tuck no hander that's interesting but guess what the good news is we will see robin goombs in the bronze medal match-up and there we have it via verdict she advances she is the number one qualifier she's up against jordy scott who is undefeated but in the bronze medal match-up i'll backflip legumes against burbidge smith the winner from slalom early in the week yeah jordy keeps the dream alive just getting through that last round she can taste the medals you know she's going to be going for the gold and trying to keep that streak alive as the only undefeated rider we have out here in the field well we've got two left in contention for a gold medal here in the women's class and the men's class but all the athletes no matter what discipline they're here for they try their darndest to enjoy their time in this beautiful city in the mountains let's take a look at how some of these riders spend their week guys yago got style yeah yago knows what he's doing he's a great tour guide even when he's not even in his own country or town he does speak like four languages i travel with him quite a bit and he is the best tour guide he can ride any trail on any bike and speak most of the languages in the places you're going to be you can make anybody who watches that video wanna come to innsbruck austria ride the trail is here there we go heat loaded up in the gate greg watts back by 2.2 behind thomas lewin keep in mind greg had a bobble so if he has a smooth run he's within reach and can he dig into that bag of tricks go deep with these tricks you know he can flip bar to x up for greg [Music] there we go des moines feeling confident keeping it simple the back flip tucked on hander and greg gone you know what i was back by 2.2 let me just flip this thing out yeah unfortunately greg watts just knew he couldn't lay down any trick that was going to help versus thomas lemoyne flawless till now our number one qualifier is the first man into the gold medal metro so our number one qualifier securing a spot in the gold medal match up looking absolutely unbeatable the big question right now is who's going to join him that looks like the first backflip i watched him do way back in uh what 2005 or something is that what it looked like that's how he was learning flips into my pool just like that little scorpion yeah i mean that's all of our first backflips unless unless you're robin goombs then it's just perfect looking yeah right nosed in relaxed so lemoine into the gold medal match-up greg watts i mean still an opportunity for a medal which is which is great yeah he needs to take this stride or this loss in stride and know that he he still has an opportunity for a medal going up we don't know necessarily who he's going against but you know he's he's got to keep his head in the game here yeah and i mean he did get beat by thomas lemoyne who's just dumped his game his number one qualifier i mean it's really tough to beat thomas lemoyne how are you getting home it's leaving with it he's coming back uh for monday yeah i still got some stuff to do here yeah look at this tommy g he's got something to do he wants to taste that sweet victory that he tasted in whistler in 2016 when he won his last speed in style and tim bringer he's the only guy in the final four here who does not have a medal in this discipline so here we go so motivation for he wants that middle he's got to get through tommy g though double double he is so down on speed so tommy g needs to just chill out but i don't think he knows though come on three table give me a three table that's unlucky for bringer he was looking good to get into that final but i don't think it's gonna be that's unfortunate for him but it's not all done for him and bringer not the first rider to have that issue it really shows how technical it is those guys coming down from those big tricks and having to spot where they're gonna go before they're even on their bike yeah it's just instinct once you land it's just so hard that first gate is so close to that jump so you know the crazy thing is he was able to kind of hold on here you know he picked up speed got back on track pretty quick he didn't cross the finish line that far behind and his trick is going to score higher you know this double whip to x up [Music] yeah you got to keep the throttle he had the advantage it was small janon didn't really get the click on that 360 barton table he's probably just gonna get scored for a truck driver on that bringer had the advantage i don't know we'll see yeah finds himself way too far to the wrong side of that gate so it ain't over till it's over there's still some more math to do here janon was back by less than a second from their first run all right as we figured but it was tight it was point seven after everything was factored in tommy g into the final going up against lemoyne one thing's for sure is that thomas is going to take a gold medal here in the speed in style but bringer going up against greg watts in the bronze medal match up an opportunity for him to better his fourth place finish from last october here in innsbruck but this is what it's all about right here robin goombs going up against harriet burbidge smith all right harriet snapping out of the gate the tuck no hander there for robin goombs not flipping the first jump again must not have the speed there you need a little bit more speed to backflip for those viewers out there haven't done a back foot you need a little bit more speed for a backflip than a straight air she has a speed for this last jump will she do it again yeah flawless for her the progression is amazing robin goombs pushing the sport to new levels here so harriet qualified third robin qualified fourth so it's cool to see them matching up here yeah these riders fighting all the way through to the finish line taking pedals after those after those tricks it's just another level you know when you're doing a slope style event you're only thinking about getting over the next jump a pair of techno handers here for both of our racers in this bronze medal match-up [Applause] wow she is so confident with that backflip now that is great to see it's gonna be a challenge for the ladies and they're gonna have to go home and get in the foam pit and see if they can get one done yeah i think by the next time we we get together and have this party i think there's going to be more more females doing backflips and 360s and tabletops [Music] all right let's do some math harriet crossing line first by point three but we got some points to factor in here robin goons the winner of the first run here in our bronze medal matchup that backflip paying off that's great to see that the backflip is paying off good speed from her as well and she'll take the lead into the next run on that bronze medal match-up so the whole spectrum of weather today from sunshine in the early part of the day a hail storm in the middle and now a beautiful sunset as the sun gets below those clouds [Music] this day is about to be over but tomorrow we're very much looking forward to it slope style here's a look at my metal predictions if you go to redbull.com you can make your own and uh i don't know how i feel about this because i kind of like winning but we're going to show you my selections right now there it is all right they did it they showed you uh i follow the sport pretty closely so i feel like i'm pretty confident in my choices i went emile johansen first nickel irrigation second and uh look at that guy he's familiar face from our race right now thomas lemoyne in third so if you think that i don't know what i'm talking about get on there try to beat me my points are going to be broadcast for all you to see and make fun of me if you beat me so uh i don't know let's see what you got there's prizes up for grabs so i don't see any reason why not it's not just bragging rights but those are on the line as well and we couldn't ask for a more beautiful evening right here you know cam i think you're on point with those those top three picks for tomorrow's event but i'm going to have to argue with you a little bit and put nikolai on top okay cool i saw some focus out of nikolai in the offseason he was out in california he was he got himself out of the skate park he got himself on some bigger jumps some slope style stuff he was out in cali they have a training facility there he was also um training with one of our one of the newer riders the the rookie of the year uh little rojo as we know him he was out at his place training over the winter so you know i think there's there's some some new focus behind uh nikolai and i i would i would like to see him on the top spot hey that's a great call because he's doing things like bike flips now he's like got all the same tricks that he's always had and they're just going to be as smooth as ever but he's also got flat drop flips which is kind of something that's like a bit of a hole in his game in past seasons is the flat drops you do similar tricks you know and so kind of expanding things that were his weaknesses making them his strengths i think that's a good call when it comes to emil or nikolai it's it's kind of a toss-up you know you've got the guy who's you know really diverse in a mill with with all the opposite combinations and variations and stuff then you've got the sender in nikolai so you know he's going to roll the dice if he's rolling those dice that you know have you know new tricks involved it's a good car man i hear you and you must think emile's got some new tricks you know just locked away there not showing anyone that's i would have to bet on that that's the way last season was when he finished that run in rotorua with the 360 windshield wiper you know he had done that before at home but he didn't show anybody that so that's the thing nikolai is showing us what is a mill doing but not showing us so that's tomorrow today it's all about speed and style and this is going to be a great heat right here greg watts going up against tim bringer it's a good start from both of them greg what i don't think i've seen the biggest tricks that have been compared to normal there's one wow to suicide nahanda so much going on on that track yeah so much that i want nothing to do with it but heading into the loft jump in the lead with the speed though oh yeah the back flip bar to bar back from greg watts and he crosses the line first it looked like was it a double tail for bringer he didn't get that exit this time did he didn't look like it but we'll have to look so tough watching both these riders at the same time especially with the speed that greg is throwing the balls i'm really trying to focus on that but that bar to bassman back is so neat and tidy yeah bring her shaking out the wrists a little bit there i think he went deep on that last jump maybe that's why he didn't throw that x out all right let's see what happened let's just watch bringer we know what greg did yeah just a straight double whip yeah a little bit tough for him to catch with the pedals looked like he had to readjust and didn't have time to go for the x up there oh the triple truck for bringing look how much time he has after three bar spins that'll be good at the top because he was good in speed so this is going to be interesting to see what the judges give us so bring her in the slope style tomorrow look forward to seeing him do that but he'd love to pick up a medal sleep well tonight and greg looking refocused after that last kind of throwaway run i think that was his most solid run of the event yeah with the biggest tricks i agree i think he's really put that frustration behind him quickly okay there you have it from what we can see 0.3 greg what's with the advantage it will throw them back to the top it's run two of the bronze medal match coming your way soon thomas lemoyne the number one qualifier an opportunity to take a gold medal out here and add it to his collection he's won the last couple events he's got to go up against alma chinon but before that we got via verbeek the number one qualifier going up against jordy scott undefeated in this discipline yeah the streak is alive look at her to snap out of the gate here what a start so good start from both ladies here [Music] the tuck which he didn't get as much extension looked like from bayer jody scott out front with a speed for now but losing a bit of momentum there [Music] taking the lead into this last jump oh she misses her trick that's going to hurt geordi's scott getting the tuck no hannah but via getting stuck in an endo dead sailor there's no way to squeeze anything out when you're pressure getting too often nerves are sitting in the muscles tighten just a little bit and she didn't get her trick on that last jump that is gonna hurt too when you qualify first in one of these events you know you want to be able to back that up with a win just carrying a little bit more speed potential to that last jump getting a little bit bucked and that is so tough to take the hands off once that happens yeah you just hold mom just hoping to get to the ground as soon as possible before it gets any steeper the panic riff getting back going over the front is no fun for anyone we'd never like to see that both of them are in such a similar position right now if you call me first you feel like you need to win if you've never lost you feel like you need to win yeah who can withstand the pressure the best here these two ladies are feeling it that is run one so winner in speed was via verbic and there you have it jordy scott with a 1.4 advantage going up against the numero uno qualifier thomas lemoine who's been unstoppable winning the last few events and you know what he competes in a lot of events out here and he's got his formula down right he uses the same bike for three different events speed and style slope style and pump track and it works for him he doesn't have to adjust for anything get used to it a lot of times these practice sessions are one after another and the riders who are choosing different bikes for different events they've got to make it down to their pit change bikes he just runs the same setup hardtail one break makes it work for all three of those events i mean saying that he makes it work is an understatement [Music] yeah he's making it work straight out of the gate he takes the lead double truck it looked some potential i don't think it was a triple truck so thomas lemoine this is where he's been really strong in the heat getting going here on the speed so he's in the lead coming to launch up with that big manufacture was that a quad manual into a flip bar spin to top that's the part honestly like these tricks are amazing but like that manual every time he does it that's the part that i just blown away by yeah because if you get it wrong you're gonna have to tap the brake which slows you down so it's an interesting tactic but he's doing it flawlessly yeah he's making it work he's gaining the maximum momentum off each one of those rollers it's an insane level of confidence so awesome visuals here from the drone look at these races throwing tricks on the pedals this is a ridiculous amount of skill to pull this off one two three four so going for the tuck to bossman flip there from thomas des moines that's going to score good points oh tommy g with a big run as well now double truck slope or speed what am i watching here we're talking look at this double tail up at the top combos to boot double track to exit man we're into the quad combo territory look how much fun they're having just stoked to be out here and both of these guys are going to be doing it all over again tomorrow so there you have it thomas lemoyne with half a second advantage when we go to run two of the gold medal matchup so we keep it rolling right along harriet burbidge smith up against robin goons [Music] so the biggest difference for goombs here is this is her second run on the left-hand side previously she's been faster on the right-hand side making up that difference so it's a little bit of an adversity to have that left left side of her second room and see what she can do it's a big start from her she didn't need that she's got the deficit that she needs to make up okay tuck for her i'm not sure what she got there that's gonna hurt much of a trick it's gonna hurt she didn't get the hands off that's definitely going to hurt so that black one is maybe a little bit slower up at the top i believe it was point three between these two harriet's going to make it to the jump first with a nice tuck no hander robin with their back flip but goons putting back a little bit of time there it wasn't that far behind okay 148 up top for harriette this is to be a tight one when everything gets added in yeah i'm really watching for these trick scores to come in let's see what robin got up top sometimes if you don't do a trick you get docked you see what she did no she wanted something it just didn't happen she was probably going for that tucked out hander was she close enough here to be able to make it work with this backflip and what will the points be for this backflip we got to watch this closely [Music] perfectly [Music] yeah riders are nervously awaiting to see with everything tabulated up it could really go either way and this is for a middle this is for bronze medal neither of these ladies have had a medal in this event wow tense moments here at the bottom for these waiting [Music] well harriet bourbon smith grabs that bronze medal congratulations to australia's harriet burbidge smith yeah that no trick on the first jump for goombs was just too much to make up but shout outs to her for really you know pushing the sport out here and showing what they're capable of she's definitely gonna up the game absolutely you know what speed style is going to look different forever because of what we saw at robin goombs so big ups for her pushing the limits now tim bringer point three behind greg watts watts is tuned in last run was his best of the race oh he gets the backflip bar spinning no hander and turnbringer he is on top of the speed portion of this track he does need that coming into the last jump of the bronze medal match-up the double tail misses the except wow that's gonna definitely help greg out and he got that flip bar to bar back very very smooth so greg did exactly what he needed to do on the slower course stays tight gets his trick and it's definitely going to be a game changer the fact that tim wasn't able to get that double whip to x up that he had done a couple times previously but not a lot coming into this first run greg's advantage was small i believe it was point three so fast it's crazy there's so much going on but you barely see any of it and both riders going a bit deep on that last last jump so the course maybe still is getting faster it absolutely is this dirt is drying we had a lot of rain and hail soaked into the dirt running foster which is a challenge for these riders you can see them both going deep big head slaps all right who's going to take away the bronze medal mcgregg grabbed yet another bronze medal where tim bringer grabbed his first piece of hardware from speed style look at that tim bringer on fourth place last year grabbing the bronze medal here third place for france's tim bringer 0.043 was the difference in the end yeah just nothing in it awesome run from tim bringer my man you've gone better than last year that is a bronze medal for you you can see how happy is disappointment for greg watts but he has a lot of podiums fourth place is nothing nothing to be afraid of [Music] well there we go we've given away the bronze medal now for the men and the women which means only one thing we've got one more race to go for the women and that's going to be our gold medal matchup between america's jordy scott and canada's via ver beak one point for the difference ken jordan can she do it can she keep it as undefeated in this event [Music] the gold medal match-up will we see a three-peat here jordan scott notice jordy birthday day or two ago oh fire she is hurting for pedals they're struggling jordy is out front here [Applause] wow look at this jordy with the advantage she's going to cross the finish line first she gets her tuck no hander but so does vaya both riders getting their tricks off perfectly at the end not the run via wanton in the final there some hesitation some mistakes i think she knows it that was a great run from jordy scott under pressure looking to three pts she is undefeated in women's speed and style so far in the career a fist pump and a double thumbs up before the scores come up but who might argue she's done this before she's never got one right no and i honestly think she's gonna keep that streak alive this was a flawless race from her via two lights of a gear there struggling to gain momentum geordie scott only qualified in third but man she pulled momentum as the evening went on wow jordy scott i mean we're gonna wait for the official word here from timing and scoring but it very much looks like jordy scott is keeping the streak alive [Music] two different approaches we have a short short travel trail bike device riding and then a little bit more of a traditional pump track slope style type hardtail bike yeah going with a single speed super simple super light for jordy scott that seemed to work i think they both know it but we're gonna wait we're gonna wait in women's speed and style making it three in a row wow jordy scott i can't wait i can't wait to interview her i got some questions this is going to be good what a crazy position to be in jordy scott ruling the world of women speed and style we just gave away a gold medal here under gold skies and we got another one left sometimes it all comes together a couple hours ago we thought maybe it wasn't going to happen but the crew got out there they fixed the jumps i saw them with the torches drying off the ramps and man this is just a really great event all together one more time all right jordy first and foremost congratulations on being undefeated in a discipline i feel like we've never even had an opportunity to say that before so first congrats i want to ask you two things i want to ask you if there's more pressure knowing that you're the one to beat because you've never been beat and also how do you feel about backflips on the horizon i definitely feel like there's a little bit a little bit more pressure like having the there's been so few events and i've been lucky enough to win all of them so it's kind of like that target's on my back but i really try to ride my own race and i know what i'm capable of and what i put the work in for so that's all i could focus on um i've done quite a few backflips in my lifetime but they're definitely a gnarly trick and after seeing the girls throw down i'm definitely gonna go to get to work on them and hopefully one day we'll have a final with dual backflips going on yes jordy that's exactly what i wanted to hear obviously if you weren't into them no pressure but i'm so psyched to hear you've done them and it's right on the top of your mind yeah we can't wait to see you compete again in speed and style congratulations on tonight and congratulations on being undefeated thank you so much what a show out there jordy scott making waves making history and to think the night's not even over we got a gold medal to give away for the men right now thomas janon trailing thomas lemoyne by just half a second it's anyone's game here [Music] and you know both these riders have tricks in their bag we haven't seen so this is going to be exciting and they're off good start from both riders here thomas lemoyne wow he did bump the flag so triple truck it looked like from thomas lemoine double tailwind from tommy and he's a little bit behind there on that black lane can he pull some speed back here over the stormwater [Music] [Applause] this is insane this is why we want this sport this is so exciting thomas lemoyne throwing down a double backflip we haven't seen him do it in competition in speed and style that jump isn't that big for that trick either which roller you think he was on when he decided to throw that double backflip i don't even know what's good he saw you known just a little bit in front of him and did that he reached into that bag of tricks and one and to make up that time i would i would really hope he decided before this gate dropped wow there's so much going on in this run we don't even know what to say here in the booth thomas g though great run from him he was out front on speed i mean the crowd was going nuts before they made it to that last jump and then when he went for that double flip they just blew up i mean tommy g is that double truck to except that so it looks like he got round there so that's also an incredible trick at the top for tommy g des moines spinning as many times as he can with those bars the speed is so high they're just barely sketching through those tight turns your number one and number two qualifier they just showed us exactly why they were the men to beat you this is the gold medal we are waiting to hand out here we are buzzing over that double flip but really it's so tight we don't know what's going to happen here thomas lemoine rewarded for that double backflip grabs the gold medal thomas shinon with a silver and if you like what you saw from these guys guess what both of them are going to be back for slope style tomorrow time for these guys to get some rest but what do you do with all that adrenaline i feel like i just watched the dual slopestyle that could be a new sport for the future just build two huge slope star courses next to each other because those two will be the men to beat all right take a look here bracing into the double backflip sees ginon a little bit in front of him and knows he's got to make up that time i'm speechless it takes quite a lot for me to do speeches i mean he's got the confidence he knows what it takes to win here this is his i believe his third win in a row in this event here yeah he's the most decorated speed and style athlete and it just shows why he's able to just go into that bag of tricks and throw it all the way down we got him thomas lemoine my man lil moyne congratulations on the gold i got one question for you at what point did you decide in that run you were gonna go for the double flip uh in the flags i i felt so sketchy in the flags and i was like okay i need another trick on the last one i need to go higher as i can and then my mind was just focused on that and it worked dude it worked and you're rewarded for it you got the gold medal thank you for putting on such a great show congratulations on the gold and get some rest man you got slope style tomorrow bravo thank you come on guys come on he ain't sleeping tonight after that i'm not sleeping tonight i love how he's like uh i figured that out in the flags that i needed a bigger trick and then clearly he was thinking about it while riding a bike so fast and then he decides to double backflip oh my goodness i need a break what do we do i'm like my my heart's beating fast i'm out of breath and i've just been standing here yeah it was pretty chilly up in this booth cam but um i think we're all pretty much heated up now thomas lamoy nunata thanks so much for spoiling us with that but tommy g it was great to see him back former winner of the event but uh what about uh world's first the backflip in the ladies robin goombs that was awesome and i honestly wish i think she deserved a bit more but that's just me being biased but that was awesome i went in my books for her 100 so a lot of ramifications after we finish any event on the crank works world tour of course the king and queen of crankworx leaderboard always a big factor we just gave away some more points so let's take a look at the queen uh standings as they look so far after these points so harriet burbidge smith extending that lead right now 200 she's five points ahead of jordy scott who just picked up some great points from that win and vaya reigning queen all the way down there in third place yeah but we will see you in the downhill she'll definitely pick up some points there so that was really cool to see so the queen of crank works title starting to heat up a lot of the queen and the king standings are about playing defense you go alright this may not be my number one event but i gotta get in there and try to get some points so you know that's via strategy being the reigning queen sitting in third that's within striking distance like you say downhill to come and that's more of her preferred discipline so we'll see we just looked at the women's queen standings let's see if we can rack up the king standings and see what they look like right now i mean lemoyne gonna be doing slope style tomorrow where does he sit in these standings yeah i'm interested to see how this lines up there's a lot of familiar names in this event over the last couple nights yeah guys like lemoyne who do pump track they do speed and style they do slope style they find themselves at the top of the list right there 185 points well there you have it big win double backflip to thank so thomas des moines got a big 65 point lead good good race he had in the pump track so and you know slope star he's going to get some points there so it's going to be a tough man to beat if he goes on like that well kyle's straight down there in fourth place you know that's within striking distance he picked up some points from here tonight we got to catch up with him when we see him cruise around see if he's going to do downhill as well because he could pick up some points there we're in it guys we are in it yeah this is just round one you know these these guys got a long long season in front of them and it's so cool to see him being out here and being that excited like you could see you could almost see it in lemoine's riding as he was coming down to that last jump he had something in mind the aggression that he had and it's just so cool to see him pull it out and i think it's thanks to limited crowds on here you mean for sure that is amping these guys up you can see they're just so stoked to be an event the crowd's here we're getting 20 21 off to a bang here crank works world tour tomorrow's gonna be another crazy day slope style kicking off we got a different start time for slope style it's going to be 12 30. so if you set your alarms beforehand 12 30 central european time and if you're new to this this is what slope style looks like picture what you just saw but guess what the jumps are bigger there's a whole lot more of them and there's no racing to be had just a whole lot of high flying insanity riders like emil johansen eric fedko thomas lemoyne thomas janon nikolai rogatkin you're not going to want to miss the slope style of course it's exciting this year to actually be talking about a series new zealand is going to be coming up in november so join us for our next two days of broadcast competition here at crank works innsbruck i've been your host cam mccall thank you andrew needling thank you alan cook we'll see you tomorrow for slope style [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you
