Ranking All Legendary Pokemon - Tier List

[Music] hey guys ron here and this is my legendary pokemon tier list i'm ranking all legendary pokemon which includes mythicals and ultra beasts etc i don't hate any of these pokemon so even the lowest tier is just neutral usually i would give all these guys at least a b minus but i try to have a wider range of options and to be a little logical although there is no criteria at the end of the day this is extremely biased their ranking is based on what i think makes great legendary pokemon or mythicals there is some consistency but tons of exceptions and yeah the they are in order within their tears so the later i mention it the more i like it but all these opinions could be completely different tomorrow i am constantly learning about these pokemon and gaining appreciation for even these pokemon the lowest tier is c minus this is technically right in the middle of all pokemon i have no significant positive opinion but definitely no major problem at all the fact is that lowest tier shows well that legendaries in general are above average when compared to the average pokemon but also that i personally derive some kind of enjoyment from or entertainment from all legendary pokemon the only pokemon in this tier is fione it may not even be a mythical but regardless the only good thing i can say about it is that it's cute but it's kind of less adorable than manaphy making it the only pokemon that they're that i don't that doesn't really need to exist all right moving on to sea tier these are okay pokemon i i welcome their existence but i personally don't see them as ideal legendary pokemon regardless all their good outweighs the little bad that they have cosmoem is the first i i don't need to justify it i like his design but it's the least exciting legendary pokemon next is zera aura uh it was fine in the power of us but i don't i don't know why it exists i personally don't like how it unintentionally looks like a person in a mascot costume it's the only pokemon i casually describe as a furry it's still cool though and i wouldn't mind using it next is magirna it's original form it's lower than its modern form i'll talk about the normal megina when it comes up dayansi now before zero aura it was my least favorite uh mythical it's certainly cute and pretty and i love its color scheme but i don't like how disjointed cluttered and asymmetrical its design is nothing wrong about it outside this except for how it's implemented in the game uh and its mega is slightly better since it's uh at least symmetrical and more cohesive but it's still cluttered hoopa is cool but i like hoopa unbound way more hoopa confined is annoying in the film and terribly implemented in the game unlike melowetta it has a proper event uh with great music it's entertaining in the anime and its various musical design elements are fun to spot i love its color scheme too but it looks like a person even every aspect of it is humanoid and on top of that uh it barely looks like mythical or legendary eternitis is in my opinion the least pokemon looking pokemon it's epic and made for an impactful boss battle but i literally don't know what it's supposed to be i pray we get more info about it like necrozma and that its story concludes in this generation in the generation that it debuted in unlike zygarde nothing about this design indicates that it was made for the pokemon franchise but if it's lore ends up justifying that then i would i would happily bump it up meltan is more exciting and its concept is delightful i will always remember the day that it was revealed in pokemon go and its mystery was well handled but i prefer legendaries with more fantastical designs and stories the late guardians are interesting concepts and their lore is serviceable they were implemented perfectly in the game they're cute but their designs are relatively boring they share the same exact body and it's not exactly a flaw but their faces are are aren't exactly the coolest faces either they're cute and i personally like how i can speculate that they are related to mu but outside of that not the most special legendaries to encounter c plus tier is a seven out of ten uh these are really good pokemon but okay legendaries kufu is cute and there's literally nothing wrong about his concept i've bonded it with it in the isle of armor but it's far from valuable and literally looks like in like like an average pokemon i prefer shaymin land way more than shame and sky sorry callum if you're watching people think the swords of justice have human faces but this one has much more humanoid face in my opinion it's this vague animal with no concrete design concept it's a mammal that flies through flower magic i i may be wrong but i don't know why it looks the way it does it's cute but not as cute as the other form i don't dislike anything about zorood i like how we finally have a vine swinging pokemon and outside of battle i've always been a fan of grass stark pokemon but aside from the fact that i've that it's never seen around what makes this monkey mythical you know it's powers aren't anything out of the ordinary in pokemon in the pokemon world and infernape looks uh more legendary honestly same with spectriae it's it's a great pokemon i love its detached hooves that's an amazing idea and enough to make it unique but it's nothing special and in the grand scheme of pokemon it doesn't get better when combined with calorics while i love the story uh behind the fusion they simply look like calorics and that it's on its steed so it's not noteworthy as a separate pokemon at least i like magirna uh i love the implications of its soul heart and i think it's a way better gear pokemon than clinkling uh since it's man-made it feels like a mythical but there are better automaton pokemon in the franchise but i do like how it can roll into a ball speaking of which ready drago it's a great it's a it's a good it's a good ready it's it's the least natural of the group i personally wouldn't have requested a reggie that wasn't made out of some sort of element or material and his dragon head is not the most uh cleverly executed but it still feels like a reggie i like how it could be perceived as the ball in a dragon's mouth you know a common thing in a common asian motif my metal is cool but obviously not the coolest on this list i have no complaints i love seeing it in battle it really looks like it could uh that it could hit hard i like volcanion more than the average pokemon fan it looks special and i have a feeling that if it was uh actually part of x y's plot people would like him way more it seems both ancient and modern natural but also mechanical its hoses are awkward though they look ornate but they hurt the design overall i used to hate cellostela because its proportions and seemingly infinite details were off-putting it kind of triggered some kind of phobia but now i enjoy it for its color scheme and deeper kaguya lore and appreciate the fact that it's supposed to look crazy kartana is neat i love the concept of an origami swordsman and its flatness helps it feel otherworldly it's a perfect ultra beast but it's not like a small paper guy is my ideal legendary naganadal is successfully alien looking considering it took inspiration from the art of h.r giger within context it's a perfect pokemon it feels like an ultra beast but can still fit in the pokemon universe but like most ultra beasts uh it doesn't fit into my preconceived notions of what a legendary pokemon should feel like lycephalon is a perfect example of an ultra beast that goes all out um and does something that no other pokemon on earth could or should do i do love the concept of an alien clown whose head explodes into fireworks uh if it had some kind of face allowing me to vibe with it more i'd bet it would be a tier or two higher type null is cool too i love chimeras and this one is a successful uh pokemon chimera its story is kind of perfect but with its uh being a failed recreation of arceus that's pretty cool and it was showcased masterfully through gladion's development everything about it was well done but it's simply harder for it to be higher than the more naturally designed legendaries zygarde is unfortunately not as majestic looking as xerneas and yveltal and was left with an unfinished storyline in generation six it has a very appealing color scheme and patterns but the miss potential sully's my enjoyment uh i really like all of its forms but their inclusion was terribly handled zernius is great i simply like its more colorful form much more manife is a fine mythical the epitome of seven out of ten uh it's cute and makes sense but it's it's not much uh not the most interesting pokemon the forces of nature are way higher than what i would have put them in my youth i honestly appreciate how similar they are to raijin and fuji nowadays i really like their origins and concept and the only flaw flaw is their similarity and humanoidness uh i think their theory and forms are better and in fact enjoy ternatus theory and form way more than the other so that's that'll be later crystallia is cool and flawless everything about her looks correct maybe even too correct it's such an inoffensive design very basic she's pretty and graceful and special looking but not the most exciting honestly a pokemon i rarely think about like i i think i think of sarah aura way more than this thing mega mewtwo x is inferior to normal mewtwo uh it's a fun concept you know a physical mewtwo the next step in its evolution but not as not as appealing or streamlined nothing about it uh improves upon the the original but since it's still mewtwo it's not too low multrace is my least favorite legendary bird uh sorry uh it's a good pokemon but what's funny is that it's it's far from the best firebird pokemon that we have in the series the flames and the design are cool i just think that the actual bird itself is kind of flimsy looking one of the least intimidating uh or imposing birds in pokemon it always seems relatively lame compared to most legendaries and the megalodies are fine sometimes i like the fact that they look identical and sometimes i don't i'm not a fan of how the wings migrated to the forearms it's overall a downgrade considering their charming original designs were perfectly streamlined b tier is next all of these are really great pokemon 8 out of 10 and really good legendaries they're all satisfying to me but obviously not the best legendaries according to my taste dusk mane and dusk wings necrozma are tight super creepy and cool but it's intentionally unnatural so naturally i'm not gonna perceive it as perfect we'll talk about necrozma later though i really like stack attacker i have no complaints actually it's not what i imagine a pokemon or legendary to be like but it's not supposed to be like that it's a well-executed concept in my opinion last year i'm a fan of glastraer at first i thought its body was plain but it literally has the same amount of detail as rapidash except with ice it's it's very cool but uh since it's kinda equal to rapidash it's not the most epic legendary in existence compared to the gods in the higher tiers so i mean i think rapidash is an eight out of ten so this is an 8 out of 10 too heatran is the base level legendaries it's great but not epic it's always nice to see a pokemon with lava texture and i find the fact that it can walk on walls to be amusing uh definitely a monster you'd find in a volcano while not overwhelming it's existence is appropriate urshifu is a great pokemon too i like their origins and the stances of course i would have wanted more difference that's why their gigantomax forms are so epic uh it's definitely fun to have this guy following you around uh like a personal bodyguard he's imposing the hero of many battle form of zashian and zamasenta uh were welcome surprises when i first saw them you understand what these two have been through once you see them like this i like their colors now and i appreciate the fact that they were included in this state nyligo is the pokemon i associate with ultra beasts the most honestly if i had a face to bond with i would love this pokemon a lot i'm a fan of the concept of a glass jellyfish that attaches to people's heads its design lore and implementation into the plot was creative and well executed since i'm a fan of how ultra beasts don't look like pokemon from our world at first i was shocked by how normal poipoul was compared to all the other legendary compared to all the ultra beasts i mean but it makes sense considering it's a it's trained by humans in its dimension it's a very cute and very appealing pokemon like neonatal it's alien but also organic looking i can't think of a fly anymore honestly i love circuitry i this thing is the most inorganic faceless pokemon in existence yet its personality is so clear in the games either in pokemon refresh or its home world uh it's a fun pokemon all the tapus are here their lore is amazingly handled they can be benevolent but also callous you kind of need to worship them for things to go well but a tapabulu is my personal favorite since the tiki motif uh translates well into a wooden pokemon but regardless the designs and colors of all four are really fascinating reggie leckie is another pokemon whose animation helps it shine uh it's honestly exactly what i would think an electric reggie would look like i'm very satisfied i guess it simply looks less like a physical golem than the original regis so i don't absolutely love it as much necrozma though it's it's menacing and mysterious looking it's impressive how its body parts are the remnants of a dragon i mean i didn't love it before ultra sun and moon explained just how rad it is but uh i really like the colors trapped in its prism pharamosa is flawless just a queen i think it's neat how she's a cockroach something that you know that is thought to be disgusting yet very beautiful i love juxtapositions like this almost like a bug goddess my boy calorix i'm one of the few that uh loved its design even before its story was released and i only liked it even more after witnessing its blender it's a very entertaining pokemon sylvala is marvelous i love pokemon whose existence proved the bond between pokemon and trainer if it was more of a drastic change from type novel it would be higher gazlord is my second favorite ultra beast it's one of the scariest pokemon both visually and contextually i love the contrast of its colors it's what you think an ultra beast would look like tornadoes tea is radical it looks like a god that transformed into its fast travel form the colors are weird for an avionoid pokemon but hey they have my favorite colors i mean zygarde complete is incredibly legendary looking uh it's its biggest strength is that it looks like a god and that's what i usually want for my legendaries unfortunately it's the worst handled form in existence and if it was part of some plot i'm sure it would be an a tier mega mewtwo y is a more natural looking mewtwo mega it looks like it's evolved to look closer to mu it enhances its already special abilities it looks celestial and pure it has ascended to god status i guess but but has lost its simple animalistic design keldeo's nice how can anybody complain about such a friendly and adorable pokemon it fits it's colorful and fun it's resolute form is even better you'll see that soon black and white curium are some of the most complicated and disjointed designs and i love them they're supposed to be these abominations and it works i'm a fan of kobelian it looks imposing majestic and noble it's in my opinion a fine amalgamation of a suave frenchman and uh antelope it looks like a leader and out of the three swords of justice suffers the least from the whole human face problem victini's sweet i i can't find a reason to dislike to dislike anything about it it has absolutely good aura tarakion is a gentle giant a good-hearted brute and i love i love stuff like that keldeo resolute is marvelous i love the tri-colored uh feathers on its hat and the uh increase in its confidence fragis was a stunning addition it really gave me hope that future jens would add more pokemon that connect and expand the lore of existing pokemon arceus i like arceus more and more each year i used to dislike it a bit but now appreciate the unique yet reasonable take on a god pokemon this is how i uh want legendaries to look ancient and regal shaymin is super cute kind of a perfect pokemon if you ask me it takes an existing animal and adds an element like grass in a clever way it's a hedgehog with a hedge on it it's a it's a tiny living chia pet be plussed here is when we finally get to the above average legendaries pokemon that are really great legendaries at least in my opinion jirachi is special and in my opinion one of the most significant mythicals in existence i spent hours as a kid just trying completely useless maneuvers uh to trigger a jirachi event in pokemon emerald that never existed it's super cute and delightful reggie still has always been striking it's one of the few classic legendaries uh to feel distant and unusual i've always been intrigued by its uh otherworldly metal red rice has always been cool to me the thought of an ice monster that never melts is pretty captivating it's the prettiest of the original reggie's and it stands out among all the pokemon from the first three generations verizon is very beautiful it's a pokemon that emits uh warmth and compassion it's the most natural looking of the sorts of justice too but i'm aware that my perception of these three this quartet may be different than the others genesect though is undoubtedly badass unless you have something against modified pokemon i think it was a great addition to the decks i remember being very delighted when i found out that this exists now d-max or shifu's are the embodiment of what i think what makes g-max is so cool they look like giant gods now they look like honorable deities ancient guardians and that's what i like from my legendaries luna is great the spectral bat is definitely in my heart considering it's an evolved nebby it has an unquestionably sophisticated design if you ask me boss wool is my favorite ultra beast the concept of a buffed mosquito is ingenious i i love how the blood it sucks can be seen through its muscular body it's a show-off and incredibly entertaining so glio is the definition of magnificent from its cosmic head to its full metal body i think it's full of fascinating elements it combines the most regal animal with the sun and creates such a striking result and to top it all off it's based on alchemy and that's so sick cosmog though as simple as it is has given me more enjoyment and that's kind of what i want from a game i love its colors and it's adorable face qrm is a pokemon whose story is clear from its design it's the husk of a former complete dragon it's this cold bitter monster waiting for a hero to fill it with purpose and it began the tradition of showing the third legendaries in their less powerful state in the original games and then hinting at something more epic to come in the future and regirock is my favorite reggie it's the most compatible looking titan uh it's it's what you imagine a rock column to be i like everything about it every attribute from its flat face its sharp shoulders uh to its blunt arms this is exactly what how i would design a regi rock it feels like something that would be sealed in a cave everything about it makes sense a tier these are finally not only some of the best pokemon in the franchise but legendaries with the x factor that makes them a lasting example of how amazing pokemon designs powers and concepts can get celebi is a perfect little time traveling forest nymph it's so innocent and pristine i wish every pokemon could be as successful as this one even though i have no complaints about any pokemon from here out i guess what prevents them from being the s tier is just all about how attached i am to them i'm a huge fan of hoopa unbound what's funny is that i first saw hoopa and was underwhelmed but then i finally saw this and really enjoyed how they went all out and finally gave us pokemon another pokemon that looks like a powerful deity the multiple arms rings portals and accents really help it look like a malevolent uh gin they nailed exactly what they were going for and that's usually what makes a pokemon uh cool to me that's what makes me like a pokemon when they look like what they're supposed to be eva tall is incredibly red it looks like a death bird it's y shaped silhouette beautiful azure eyes and blood red aura filled body is incredibly threatening xerneas is the most majestic pokemon ever its light filled antlers are beautiful and i love how they shine colored dots on its back almost like the dots on a fawn the little details like x-shaped pupils and stance are so inspiring it's perfectly designed it's a perfectly designed pokemon i think marsh shadow is amazing even its unmemorable events haven't prevented me from disliking this pokemon it's cute and tough one of my favorite combos and i love its lore origin and the way it lights up in this gorgeous screen when it attacks pokey is a bit lower than diaga but hey it's still iconic it's an eight tier i love its body shape honestly i love its shiny white body and the pink accents i just enjoy how vague of a creature it is it's not some normal animal it's polka the master of space you know a pokemon that can tear through space is easily an eight tier both articunos are the embodiment of their type and look beautiful doing so i personally think that the original articuno i like it just slightly more because it's simple pure and pretty uh it has a really cute face in my opinion uh and a perfect design but the glaring form is such a clever take i love how the gallerian forms while a different type have attributes that make sense with your original type like how glarion articuno fires beams that immobilizes its opponents as if they are frozen the glaring birds are such well executed concept and i love how they share black accents like glaring moltres is the only one that is leaks above its original it's flaming dark aura is magnificent uh they completely revamped its design face and beak my favorite glaring form though is zapdos i love that it runs now and generates thunderous kicks its patterns and accents are also really appealing zashian and zamasanta went from b's to a's once i learned about their story and saw them in action and bonded with them i appreciate them way more and more each day they're cool and the goofiness that was once there is now just endearing the other time i've always thought that the roar of time was the coolest sounding pokemon move in existence for its time its design was super complicated and that helped to feel like a god that was high above mortal pokemon it looks ancient and futuristic at the same time and as i say that i guess that makes sense it's since it could travel to the past and future it's a timeless pokemon i love its color scheme it feels as threatening and powerful as pakia but with more stature and uh seriousness ladies and gents uh some of the most adorable pokemon around not like the cutest things in the world but very charming and pleasant to look at they are a perfect pair while still standing out on their own uh without one overshadowing the other ladies is cuter but larios is cooler uh but they're both cool and cute and i love this balance zekrom and resharam are another contrasting pair that complement each other perfectly i love how how resharam is more light ethereal soft and feminine while zekrom is masculine heavy brutal and bold each element contrasts with the other but they're both equal in grace and dignity i would show these two off to anybody who hasn't seen pokemon the philosophy of black and white is a huge part of my life so i've grown to appreciate how their design and lore showcases that and when they light up adding a hint of uh blue or orange to their monochromatic body it looks so cool i personally like zekram a little more but it's a sick looking pokemon you gotta admit a plus tier these are perfect pokemon they're just not my personal top four which is reserved for s tier i want to say anything about eight plus tier is objective it's simply it's completely biased uh while the previous tiers had some kind of logic to them apis here is just it's just my gut feeling raudan and kyogre aren't objectively better than xerneas and yveltal but my first pokemon game was ruby i just think the weather trio is the perfect trio i think kyogre and groudon are flawless embodiments of land and sea kyogre was always magnificent and groudon was always intimidating i love the patterns on these two and they and they only get better when primarily reverted i simply associate legendary pokemon with these two mew is such a fantastic concept uh with a perfect design that highlights its simple form which makes its lore as the ancestor pokemon more realistic it's so pure and natural it's one of the cutest pokemon but we still know how powerful it is it has brought so much joy to the community over the last 25 years we all know lugia is the definition of cool legendary pokemon its design has a perfect balance of simple and grand it's both beautiful and threatening intelligent but vicious i still think of its hand wings till this day their hands get wings it's crazy it makes sense since it flies using psychic powers not aeronautics the legendary beasts are some of the most engaging legendaries out there uh they were the first roaming legendaries have well established lore and still have mystery and theories that surround them uh they all look completely different from each other but are still cohesive suicune is one of the best looking pokemon of the franchise everything about it works entei is an iconic pokemon that commands attention it's always an event when entei appears and riko is my personal favorite although i wouldn't be surprised if someday uh the other two overtook it uh i just love the fact that riko is a saber-toothed tiger with a storm cloud cape and lightning tail these three are epic without having to look like gods or monsters uh they feel like legends that humanity rarely comes in contact with and ho is here for personal reasons uh you see i consumed gen 2 through the anime i never played gold silver or crystal only the remix and until then as a child i got to see the legendary beasts and lugia on tv and many times but rarely ho oh this was the most legendary feeling pokemon because it never appeared in my childhood and i barely knew much about it until i played heart cold where i finally caught the pokemon that first appear in the anime's premiere giratina though is easy to understand it's scary without being horrible to look at while it's not based on satan or anything demonic it's the closest we have to such a concept and i'm i'm impressed at how believably devilish it looks while still feeling like a pokemon like dark cry it looks like the nightmare pokemon that's honestly the explanation just like giratina it's a frightening concept that has been successfully designed in pokemon's appealing style scary without looking like a horror creature and zapdos is my favorite legendary bird ever since i was a kid uh the thought of the thought of a huge thunderbird flying through the clouds as lightning crackles through its wings was always alluring it's no nonsense there it was the first pokemon that didn't feel like a friend but a pokemon that shouldn't be messed with this is a legendary bird now it's finally time for ester my personal favorite legendary pokemon some of my favorite pokemon of all time ultra necrozma's battle was this era defining pokemon battle for me from the music to the multiple defeats it was so satisfying coming up with a strategy to defeat him that didn't involve any stalling this was the only time a great battle was against a single pokemon to me it literally looks like the strongest pokemon in existence it appears to be the pokemon god i'm still in awe that a single pokemon made an impact on my enjoyment mewtwo is in my opinion the perfect pokemon uh i even did a video where i assessed all the aspects that makes for a great pokemon and mewtwo got the highest score spoiler for that video sorry uh its design coolness individual personality uh concept execution lore development uh power and all around entertainment factor all received perfect scores if there was simply a pokemon that gave us the most out of its existence it would be mewtwo to me it's the most valuable pokemon despite that i personally enjoyed deoxis a little bit more its film appearance was well executed its forms are so cool and i love how mysterious and menacing it is while sticking with a bright color scheme they took dna guys and turned it into one of the coolest pokemon in existence its existence is frightening and finally rayquaza is not only one of my top five favorite pokemon of all time but easily my favorite
