Pentecost is Happening Now - Josh Herring

acts chapter 2 perfect verse number 1 through 4 and verse number 14 through verse number 18. the bible said when the day of pentecost was fully come they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them clothing tongues like as of fire and it set upon each of them and they were all filled everybody say all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance verse 14 through 18 said but peter standing up with the eleven lifted up his voice and said unto them you men of judea and all you that dwell at jerusalem be this known unto you and hearken to my words for these are not drunken as you suppose seeing it is but the third hour of the day but this is that which was spoken by the prophet joel and it shall come to pass in the last days saith god i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams and all my servants and all my handmaidens i will pour out in those days of my spirit and they shall prophesy i want to preach on the subject this morning pentecost is happening now pentecost is happening now today is the pentecost sunday tomorrow's memorial day but today is pentecost sunday and we are going to experience what happened in the book of acts on the day of pentecost when god poured out his spirit in this service and in the next service god is going to fill several people with the holy ghost can you clap your hands in advance right now for it's about to take place lord jesus loose the gift of faith anoint my mind and loose my tongue to the will of the holy ghost i pray in jesus name praise the lord you may be seated thank you for standing in the presence of the lord creation teaches us that our god the creator of the universe is a god that does miracles every single day creation also teaches us that he's not the god that just does one miracle day but in each day of creation he did multiple miracles every single day i serve a god that still does those miracles what i see in the bible i'm experiencing in my own life the miracles that i have read about that i saw that i wish i could see personally that i would read in the scripture i am starting to see in my own life just eight weeks ago i was in a service in florida and a lady walked up to me and she said about a few months ago you were here and you were preaching on special miracles and she said you were preaching out of acts 19 where they had handkerchiefs from paul's body and people were healed i said i remember she said you gave me a handkerchief and she said i didn't even need a miracle i just put it in my purse for some day down the road and she said last week my cousin who is an atheist was at his job as an electrician she said on top of a ladder he was electrocuted and fell off the ladder and died and he was dead for over one hour they tried to shock him and they could not bring him back to life they could not find a pulse in fact they called all of the family and we were gathering at the hospital to kind of go over the details of everything but she said when i got to the hospital with my family i looked down in my purse and i saw that handkerchief from a few months ago and she said i grabbed the handkerchief and just said i'm going to try something and i looked at the nurse and i said would you please take this handkerchief and would you lay it on my cousin's body and the nurse said why he's already dead and she said just please do it and so the nurse went into the room because they wouldn't let no one near the body and when the nurse took the handkerchief and touched the man's body the man opened his eyes and grabbed the handkerchief and came back to life and was out of the hospital in two days i serve a god that's still raising the dead that's not overseas that's happening here in america our god is a now god that can do exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask or even think was in a furniture store a few weeks ago and a man that that's uh that we've gone in and he's helped us each time the last few years we've gone in there and of course my wife had to go to get another dresser for the baby as the baby was coming and so we went in he was working his name is paul about 65 years old and and he's always getting a sale from me and so we went in there and of course he jumped on me like a fly and he just comes right up and says hey can i help you josh he knows me by name i said no not really we're just we're just browsing he said i know you're not browsing so he followed me around and he was kind of annoying me and finally i just turned and i said are you okay paul he said well only one person knows this is my boss but they found cancer in my lungs i smoke all the time they found cancer in my lungs there's not much they can do i'm taking off work as a friday they're going to try to take the cancer out but it's all in my lung i just felt the holy ghost when you've seen someone raised from the dead god can heal cancer and so i just laid my hands on him right there in the store and said in the name of the lord jesus christ you can work miracles still today and we command this cancer to flee his body in jesus name just two weeks ago as i was walking to the sanctuary i got a text from him when he went to the hospital and when they went open up his lung the cancer was no longer in his body he was miraculously healed we serve a god that's doing miracles still today just four weeks ago in jacksonville florida man i feel the holy ghost on a sunday night there was a man off to my right never saw him before about 60 years old had two earrings in his left ear and he was deaf and the girl was signing to him as we were having service and i i didn't think nothing of it i just was worshiping god and in the altar i was praying for the sick and i was praying for others and i just happened to get near him and i laid my hands on him for god to heal him and nothing happened and i prayed for about a minute and nothing happened and so usually as the preacher you're trying to pray for everybody and so i was going to walk away and the holy ghost said do not leave him lay your hands on him again so i did and nothing happened so i figured i've done my duty and i'm going to pray for someone else the holy ghost said do not leave him so i just kept praying nothing was happening i was getting more and more doubt he was getting more and more doubt nothing was the chur you know when you start praying for someone and you pray a while the church kind of gathers around to watch and if you pray too long and nothing happens the whole church starts doubting and so i'm praying and praying and praying and everyone's watching nothing's happening and so i i've never done this before but the girl that was signing i stopped the prayer i said ask him how he feels she signed how do you feel he says ready i want the devil to come out of me yeah that got a few creepy but i remember in the bible when there was a deaf guy and he was dumb and deaf and jesus said thou dumb and deaf spirit come out of him and so he's standing there and he says i want the devil to come out of me and so i tell her to tell him all right we're going to pray take off your earrings he said why i said i have no idea that's what i heard so i'm just telling you he said okay a guy beside him said i'll take him he said no you won't put him in his pocket i'm like we're really going far here god something great's about to happen and so he closed his eyes he can't hear a thing i'm saying i've prayed for three or four minutes nothing's happened five minutes nothing's happened and so now he closed his eyes and when he closed his eyes i just said in the name of jesus come out of him when i said that he begins to vomit in his hand when he begins to dry heave and vomit a girl about 20 feet away starts screaming yelling get off me get off me and i realize that he does have devils and so for 25 minutes i began to pray for him and and you talk about wearing yourself out every time i prayed he would begin to dry even i know that sounds disgusting but devils sometimes can dwell in people and they don't even know it they think he's just deaf but for 25 minutes these things kept coming out of him and kept coming out then he would say they're gnawing they're screaming at me he would sign it and after 25 minutes he fell down and he said in sign language i feel better now and i said if he feels better now that means the devils are gone that means he should be able to hear in the name of jesus christ and by the time i got the words jesus christ out of my mouth he jumped back and he couldn't stand to be there because both ears popped wide open 60 years old had never hurt a town in his life but when we pray expecting the lord god that we clap our hands to and that we worship to do something he did i'm telling you about a right now car that can do anything and is doing things i don't know time to tell you my blinded eyes are being opened in the last two months things are happening things are happening god is doing it we are in the last days the stuff that happened in your bible is happening not in the world that you hear about overseas it's happening right here in north america but the greatest miracle of all is not someone being raised from the dead is not someone being healed in their body it's not someone getting a blessing financially the greatest miracle any human being will ever receive is when god fills them with the gift of the holy ghost i don't care what god has done for you before it does not compare to the moment that god filled you with your spirit and ye shall receive power after one verse eight after that the holy ghost is come upon you it's the greatest miracle you'll ever experience why is that the greatest miracle first of all it's salvation jesus said in john 3 5 i didn't give you these verses but he said unless you're born of the water of the spirit you can't even enter the kingdom of god and also he said in romans 8 if you have not the spirit of christ you're none of his so first of all that's powerful that you need his spirit to dwell with him that's the most important reason why it's the greatest miracle healing is awesome but you can go to hell healed you can go to hell blessed but the holy ghost is a ticket it's something you need inside of you it's the creator of the universe the god that sits on the throne in heaven coming down through the atmosphere into your body and living in you when you get the holy ghost you can truly say to the devil greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world here's why the holy ghost is also the greatest miracle uh here's why it's better than financial a financial miracle is amazing it's it's exciting when you get a financial miracle it's it's a relief when you get a financial miracle but if god gives you a financial miracle it's always filtered through human hands someone has to give the check someone has to come through something has to happen unexpectedly the debt has to be removed by someone it's always filtered through humanity it's a financial miracle god uses people to perform it healing is a great miracle it's the removal of pain and when god heals someone he removes the pain and their body is restored to the place of strength that the body could naturally go to when the pain is removed but the holy ghost is greater than financial miracles and healings financial miracles are filtered but the holy ghost is not filtered it does not come through somebody's hand into your body it has not come through somebody's prayer into your body it doesn't even come out of an angel but he said i'm the last taste i will pour out of my spirit it comes straight out of god through heaven into earth and into your body nothing can be as powerful there's no drug you can put in your body there's no drink you can taste that can compare to the living god pouring himself inside of you healing will take you back to the place of strength where your body naturally can get to but the holy ghost as i said earlier gives you power healing doesn't give you power it removes pain but the holy ghost gives you power and i'm telling you in this day and age if we've ever needed power there's so many spirits and attacks that are out there people are suicidal or depressed don't know who they are are afraid to sleep at night wondering what's going to happen you need god to live inside of you for god has not given you the spirit of fear but of power and of love and a sound mind and when he dwells in you you're not afraid of the devil or what he says to you because you know god is on my side and god is in me i do not serve a dead jesus i serve an alive savior who is living in me right now who is breathing in me right now who dwells in me right now oh clap your hands all ye people shut up and shout unto god with a voice of triumph somebody shout [Applause] hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah i can feel the holy ghost moving in here right now somebody's gonna get it and they're never ever going back to where they came from again hallelujah how do i get the holy ghost i'm glad you asked acts chapter two verse number four they were all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance acts chapter 10 44-46 if you keep bringing me back you're going to be able to quote these verses while peter yet spake these words the holy ghost fell on all them which heard the word verse 45 and they of the circumcision which believed were astonished as many as came with peter because that all the gentiles also was poured out the gift of the holy ghost how do they know verse 46 for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify god acts chapter 19 if i was the devil i would leave right now verse number two and verse number five and verse number six he said unto them have you received the holy ghost since you believed and they said unto him we have not so much as heard whether there be any holy ghost verse number five the bible said that when they heard this they were baptized in the name of the lord jesus and verse 6 said when paul laid his hands upon them the holy ghost came on them and they spake with tongues and prophesied in your bible when god fills people with his spirit the evidence the proof that they are filled to them and to us is that that you you will speak with other tongues what does that mean that means if you speak in english when god fills you with his spirit the proof that you have it when you're praying it's not going to come out in english and say oh i've got the spirit it won't be a language you understand it will come out of your mouth jesus said like this out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water this spanky of the spirit you will understand what it means it won't make sense to you but you'll know beyond the shadow of a doubt can i get a witness that this is the greatest moment i've ever had in my life drugs don't compare booze don't compare sex doesn't compare when you get the holy ghost it is the greatest thing that you will ever have in your life well let me just tell you what's going on right now one of our pastors in florida went to china two weeks ago and he went to several underground churches and you can't obviously preach the gospel freely there and he went to several underground churches and that were just hungry for the truth they didn't even know what was going on and in one week's time in china two weeks ago 286 people were filled with the baptism of the holy ghost it's happening just a few weeks ago in tampa florida in one service we saw 85 people be filled with the baptism of the holy ghost what am i saying it is happening now pentecost is happening now he said in the last taste i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh and it's happening all over the world they sent me pictures and videos of the china uh holy ghost meetings it was so powerful because they were they were in these places where they couldn't worship and they were hiding these underground churches and one of them was in this building they were hiding back in this building and but when the holy ghost fell on them they were so empowered you got to get i know in america we won't understand this but they were so empowered by what happened that they opened up the windows to the outside air and they began to dance and shout and speak in tongues toward the open air they were risking their life but they had so much power from receiving the holy ghost that they didn't care if the so i wish i could get help right here the soldiers could come in and arrest them and kill them but they knew what i have inside of me cannot be contained in an underground building i must release it it was the spirit of daniel open up the windows and let it out and when god fills you you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that something is in me it's being released and i'm never going to be the same hallelujah i'm sorry if i'm preaching too long i'm excited about what god's doing two weeks ago a young man came to the altar and got filled him with the holy ghost and three days before that his best friend was shot in the back and murdered he saw it with his own eyes and he came down to that service trying to get away from everything in his life and the lifestyle he was living and he heard about the holy ghost and he came down to the altar and he prayed and several received the holy ghost and they all left and went out to lunch and he stayed in that altar and kept praying and he told the guy praying with him i've got too much hell in my life i'm not leaving this altar without jesus inside of me i know what's going on in my life and i'm not leaving here without the holy ghost and when everyone else was at the restaurant and they were at home hanging out that man raised in his hands and god filled him with the holy ghost why because it's a promise unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off the bible said even as many as the lord our god shall call i'm just about done people are about to get it right now how do i get the holy ghost what do i do i'm going to help you i can't give it to you pastor we can't give it to you but i we can tell you what to do we can tell you we can take you to the door okay and then you can choose to walk through it and god can give it to you or you can choose to do your own thing but i'm gonna tell you how to get the holy ghost number one you've got to repent of your sins that's bap it's bible if acts 2 38 says that repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost so if you haven't repented of your sins in a few minutes and no one's going to repent by themselves we're all going to repent together i'm asked pastor to come in a few minutes and he's going to lead a prayer of repentance if you don't know how to pray or repent you can pray what he's praying but say it out of your mouth but mean it from your heart don't just repeat words but when you're repenting you're telling god i'm sorry for all the things i've done wrong and you have to repent for you and i have to repent from me it would make no sense for me to ask someone in this building would you please repent for my sins i've done a lot of bad things would you repent from me it wouldn't make sense and god wouldn't answer that prayer because god's not going to have someone repent for my sin i committed my sin i have to repent for my own sins so you have to repent for your own sins so number one before we ever pray for the holy ghost before we ever pursue it we're all going to repent together in a few minutes every altar worker every preacher every guest i'm asking you every elder every teenager every mom every dad everyone from the top down to the bottom everybody i'm asking you that we will repent of our sins and we should all want to repent of our sins if you think i don't need to repent of my sins you need to repent more than anyone. i had a guy tell me one time that his wife needed to be baptized because she was a sinner but he didn't need to and he didn't need to repent either because he had never sinned i was like well you just committed your first sin you lied in church and if you don't repent your god's going to kill you but everyone needs to repent number two after you repent you need to desire the holy ghost if you don't want it first of all you don't know about it if you don't want it because anyone that hears about it and really gets a hold of it wants god inside them because i promise you the battle won't be the same when he's inside of you versus you fighting the devil on your own so number one you have to repent but you have to want the holy ghost if there's three people up here praying or ten people and nine of them want the holy ghost and god's gonna fill them all but there's one that doesn't want it i promise you god will jump right over that person and go to the next one last week in tampa 21 people came up to get the holy ghost i counted and 20 of them were filled with the holy ghost the one kid that didn't was up here kind of like he didn't really want it everyone that wanted it got it it's how it works god knows when you want him or not you can't fake jesus out i know you can fake me out but you can't fake jesus out you can fake your neighbor out you can fake the priest you can't fake him out he knows when you want him so you have to desire number three you have to focus your mind on the lord when you're praying you're not worried about who's praying with me what's being said i'm gonna worship god with i'm gonna talk to the lord my mind's on jesus not the roast that's cooking not my job tomorrow not my bills that are due not the pain in my body my mind is on the greatness of god he is my creator he is my savior he died for my sins he loves me like no can i tell you that jesus loves you like no one in this world loves you he died for you when you're praying just remember that that he loves you more than you can fathom and you're not alone number four you have to have faith that you're going to get the holy ghost today when i get in that altar like that man willie i told you about two weeks ago when that will he came up he said i'm not leaving here without it he made up his mind i'm getting the holy ghost i'm getting him inside me if it's a promise then i want it and it's a promise so i want him inside of me i don't know how i could go to church i'm just going to be honest with you and have a message preach to me not because i'm preaching but have someone tell me about the possibility of the lord of the universe coming and living inside of me and not wanting it that means if you have to call out for him if he's not in you he may be there he may not but when he's in you when he's in you you know you you know you can be driving on the road and a car could be coming at broadside you i don't know you can just scream that name and what happens god will why because he's dwelling in you and two more things you to repent gonna desire the holy ghost have your mind focused on the lord have faith you're gonna get it today the next thing is you have to worship god with your own mouth after we pray the prayer of repentance we're going to worship god with our own mouths that means i'm going to tell i'm going to pray a prayer faith after we repent that means i'm i'm praying of prayer that i'm believing god to pour out his spirit upon everyone that wants the holy ghost and when i'm done praying i will tell everybody in the building to shout hallelujah and everybody will lift up their voice in one mind and one accord like on the day of pentecost and they will shout hallelujah and when they shout hallelujah god will begin to fill people with the holy ghost why to say hallelujah well hallelujah is the highest praise you can give god and there's a promise in your bible that he hears and he dwells in the praises of his people so when you start praising god with the highest praise you can give him he comes into the atmosphere that's why we shout hallelujah why we want him to be up in here and filling people and i've never done it one time where he hasn't filled somebody with the holy ghost when they were shouting hallelujah hallelujah can we do that right now shout hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah just about done and the last thing after we've repented of our sins and pastors led that prayer and you're up here and you're ready and your mind's on the lord and you're what you want it and you're believing you're gonna get it you're getting rid of prayer and you're gonna worship god when i tell you to shout hallelujah you're gonna lift up your voice you're gonna worship god hallelujah i love you jesus whatever comes to your mind i think some of you won't even get hallelujah you'll start to say hallelujah and the spirit will start talking out of you and you'll oh my goodness what is this and it's going to be the most amazing experience some of you may pray for a couple minutes or a few seconds a few minutes i don't know but god will fill you with this spirit the last thing that i want to tell you about getting the holy ghost is when you're worshiping god don't be afraid to release it don't be afraid to let it go if you're hearing those sounds in your mind that don't make any sense don't be afraid to let them out of your mouth if you're saying hallelujah but you're hearing those words that don't make any sense let those words out hallelujah has served its purpose praise the lord have served its purpose i love you jesus i serve this purpose but now it's time to let the spirit out out of your belly like rivers of living water and let it flow and you will never ever ever look at this preacher you will never be the same again are you ready sunday morning people about to get the holy ghost let's stand right now people about to get the holy ghost the greatest moment in someone's life is about to happen up here in this altar today when god fills them with his spirit two things can i get can i get you to help me right now can you can you can you do me a favor honestly can you please look at your neighbor and can you ask them have you received the holy ghost by speaking in tongues could everybody do that for me please could you ask your neighbor if you've received the holy ghost and could you answer the question honestly and please don't lie folks are brave guys a lie in church i wouldn't dare lie in church man i'm risking a car wreck like three seconds later if you haven't say no if you hadn't it's been a long time god wants to feel you again but if you want the holy ghost god wants to fill you with the holy ghost today and it will be the greatest moment of your life if someone around you said no in just a moment when i have everyone come from it's not going to be just people by themselves i'm gonna have everyone come up that needs it and if they if someone said no or if you're not sure if they had it i'm gonna ask you to bring them up in just a moment so that that they have not by themselves and we're all together but right now can i get the altar workers the prayer team can i get you to come to the front can i get you to face the audience these people are trained to pray with people that need the holy ghost they're not here to hurt you they're going to help you they're gifted they're very gifted at what they do and they know how to pray with people that need the holy ghost and they'll help you pray and you will not regret coming up to this altar in just a moment altar workers if you don't mind looking at me for a second when you when your person your seeker gets the holy ghost would you throw your thumb in the air just for me so i can see it so i can build faith for others that are trying to get the holy ghost so we can keep a track record on who's getting the holy ghost so we can celebrate and and and other people that are going to come up with with some guests if your guest gets the holy ghost or the person you're praying with let me know by throwing your thumb in the air it's not spiritual it's nothing spooky just letting me know so i can say hey that one got the holy ghost so that one got the holy ghost does that make sense okay so here's what we're going to do so everyone knows what's happening we're about to repent of our sins and we're going to repent that god will take care of everything we've done wrong so nothing's in the way pastor's going to pray that prayer repentance when he's done i'm going to pray a prayer of faith and god is going to fill several people with the holy ghost okay okay but before we do because could i anyone who needs the holy ghost or wants the holy ghost would you step out of your pew and come to the front so we know who you are if there's someone around you there you go please make your way up here that needs the holy ghost people that are coming come all the way up to the front to some to where the altar workers are there's some more in the back praise god come on awesome awesome anyone if you had someone say no please bring them forward please please don't make them come by themselves praise the lord i said oh awesome is there anyone else more coming is there anyone else is there anyone else that needs the holy ghost anyone else that needs the holy ghost i know it's quiet and it's it's it's it's not that i'm trying to embarrass you it's just that we need people to to respond right now if god will if you have step out toward the lord the lord will step out toward you that's bible draw an eye into god and god will draw an eye into you okay secondly if you need a miracle in your body or some kind of miracle at all would you please come out would you please come forward god is doing miracles god's healing is sick like never before if you need a miracle and you come forward something in your life i want you to step out of your pew and come forward everyone that needs something from god it's sunday morning i would not wait if i needed something from the lord i would step out believing god to do something for me there's several that still need the holy ghost that are in the pews i can feel it and i'm asking you in jesus name to not miss this moment where god would fill you with his spirit you will not regret having him living inside of you praise god praise god pastor would you please come and take over and do what you feel if i could uh invite the rest of our church family and our guests if you would like to come pray with us whether you're ready to receive the holy ghost or not i'm inviting everyone to come and just gather here together because we're going to pray you know many people feel that there's something between them and god and as soon as they get that out of the way then they'll turn to god but i want to assure you that repentance your first step toward god clears whatever it is out of the way and as soon as you repent you've released the power of god to come into your impossibility or into that barrier that's keeping you from god and it opens the power of god to minister to you so i'm going to pray as if i was praying for the very first time and i would like for you to join me and in your own words ask god to forgive you of every known sin would you pray with me right now everyone in the building lord i come right now in jesus name just as i am lord all of my righteousness is filthy rags nothing that i can do to earn your favor lord i trust in the blood of calvary on the blood that you shed on the cross that it was sufficient payment for my sin for i know your word says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of god and that the wages of sin is death i pray right now god that you would cleanse me of every sin i ever have done i ask you god to forgive me of thoughts that have been improper i pray that you would forgive me of attitudes lord that are against you that are ugly attitudes god unforgiving attitudes i pray in jesus name lord that you would forgive me for every word of spoken god that is harsh or cruel using your name in vain saying things that hurt other people i pray o god that you'd forgive me of every word that i've spoken that has been displeasing to you and against your nature and your word i pray that you forgive me of every action o god every act of sin oh god that is affected my own body sins against my own body and sins against other people lord and most of all sins against you forgive me in jesus name oh god i pray that you would take my sins away i confess my sins today i forsake my sins today i walk away from them oh god and i trust o lord god that you can do what i cannot do cleanse me from my sin make me holy within forgive me o god today now would everyone lift up their voice everyone lift up their voice we're going to desire the holy ghost today we're going to desire with everything in us we're going to turn our attention to the lord right now and believe that he will fill us with the holy ghost we're going to be worshiping together and we're going to release the holy ghost to flow out of us would you pray right now everyone lifting your voice as brother herring comes back get ready go let's get ready to pour out his spirit all the workers get ready people in the altar get your hands on someone beside you that's getting ready to pray get every hand be raised right now every person get their hands up get ready and get faith out the highest level of faith god's getting ready to fill someone right now it's already getting ready to happen or every hand raised by the authority of the word of god and by the power of the name jesus receive ye the holy ghost everybody shall hallelujah lay your hands on them and begin to speak in toast as the spirit gives there's one right here she's speaking one right there they're speaking in tongues it's the spirit gives the honorists in the name of jesus in the name of jesus in the name of jesus in the name of jesus in the name of jesus yes right here one two two just got the holy ghost right for the bread for the bread he's got the holy ghost right here number two hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah get ready go go go go go go and the last day saith god i will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh i will pour out of my spirit i will pour out of my spirit let it go there you go listen listen you're speaking in tongues listen in jesus name in the last yeah somebody help me pray don't watch they were all in one place in one accord and suddenly suddenly suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind [Applause] [Music]
