[Music] in isaiah and verse 3 it describes the anointed messiah and it describes him in a position of suffering and it's significant for all of us to grasp that anytime you become a savior of anyone there is a great potential for pain anytime you involve yourself in anyone's life in order to help them to become more than they are it is a place that calls for a very special anointing because it is a place of pain notice if you will the description very intense he is despised and rejected of man a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief and we hid as it were our faces from him he was despised and we esteemed him not surely he has surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows yet we did esteem him stricken smitten of god and afflicted but he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed the continuance into 61 now speaks of the holy spirit's involvement with the messianic christ and it was prophetically uttered by isaiah and jesus read the same text in luke chapter 4. the spirit of the lord is upon me because the lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound to proclaim the acceptable year of the lord and the day of vengeance of our god to comfort all that mourn i conclude the reading with an eschatological presentation of matthew an eschatological just last days and it's an eschatological judgment that god is going to have at the end of our surgery and it points out the significance of those who are victims those who are weak and disenfranchised listen clearly in verse 35 and verse 34 of matthew 25. he says then shall the king say unto them on his right hand come ye blessed of my father inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world for i was in hungered and you gave me meat i was thirsty and you gave me drink i was a stranger and you took me in naked and you clothed me i was sick and he visited me i was in prison and you came unto me then shall the righteous answer saying lord when saw we thee and hungered and fed thee or thirsty and gave thee drink when saw we thee a stranger and took the in or naked and clothed thee when saw we the sick or in prison and came unto thee and the king shall answer and say unto them verily i say unto you in as much as ye have done it unto the one of the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto me he says to the next group you depart and verse 42 why i was hungered and you gave me no meat i was thirsty and you gave me no drink i was a stranger you took me not in naked you clothed me not sick and in prison and he visited me not of course they said when did we do all that and verse 45 his answer is as he did it not to the one of the least of thee ye did it not to me touch somebody real quick and tell them the lord is always on your side touch somebody else and say i'm anointed to deliver amen i'm anointed to deliver uh it it is it is it is true that in order for us to touch other people's lives they have to be able to penetrate our sensitivities i speak of that and without butchering the text or ignoring the the text i can't help but think of the woman who the syrophoenician woman who was in tyre and saddam jesus having gone there of course and his responsibility was to the house of israel the lost sheep of the house of israel but when she realized by faith when she perceived by faith who he was she began to holler at him in a voluminous voice vociferous cry jesus thou son of david to have mercy on me for my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil he answered not a word his disciples said send her away he answered and said but i'm sent only to the lost sheep of the house of israel he answered and said how can i take the children's bread and give it to the dogs in all of his responses she kept hollering because she had an enormous need and and finally he hollered o woman greatest thy faith be it done unto thee as you desire daughter was healed she was able to penetrate his sensitivities because even though his mission was israel she in her faithful determination penetrated until he had to respond favorably to her in order for any one of us to be a blessing or to help anybody else we have to have sensitivities and one of the things that is happening in the uh might i say the neo christian presentation is that because of our complete uh i hate to say predilection but because of our total and complete emphasis on faith we have moved away from the exhibition of love and caring for folk who are not as well off or as comfortable as we are and oftentimes it seems in america in the darwinistic disposition of economic blessing we have a tendency to feel like those who are weak ought to be weak so that those who are strong can continue to manipulate and to control if you check the statistics in this country you will find that as christian as it is three percent of americans control at least 56 percent of the economic structure with that in mind one begins to ask then what is my obligation and how do i understand my obligation to my brother and my sister in light of jesus's disposition i think often times we have become so concerned about making our own ends meet and gaining our own reputation i was dealing with dale the editor of our magazine the other day and the question that has been asked to teenagers and young people for years has always been what do you want to be when you grow up in many instances engineers doctors lawyers preachers whatever it is that suited their fancy but he said to me the question is now being answered like this i want to be famous it does not matter then how i get there i just want to get there well bill gates wasn't trying to be famous or rich all he wanted to do was become an engineer and whatever followed followed it's critical because oftentimes we get so carried away in ourselves that we forget that every now and then we ought to suffer something for somebody else and this brings us to the substratum and the very yes the fulcrum the fundament the rudiment of what the christian faith is all about when you study isaiah you will notice his name means yeshua yahoo and it is the salvation of jehovah it was not an uncommon name it was a significant name to israel because israel was a battling people they were always in one struggle or another the struggle they found themselves in was based primarily upon the fact that in a theocracy you have to give credence and credulity to god or you will find yourself in a struggle because anytime you do not obey or follow the direction of god the consequences cannot be as if you are when you step outside of the principles that god has ordained for your life then what follows are the principles that come or the consequences rather that come with not walking in the proper path i came out a while ago as i was coming in i went over to visit a church and dropped the preacher off a little money since he was trying to hold himself together and as i was coming back i looked at my daughter's license plate and i saw two zero zero five i said to her now girl uh this is 206 i don't know what year your brain is running in uh but in order for you to not have the man all over you it seemed to me like you would write a 2006 up on the back of your cup uh it's critical because it might look like a little thing but before you know it you stop by the side of the road and before you know it you're hassled and then before you know it you forget to pay to take it and then before you know it here comes the warrant and before you know it what could have cost you just a little time has now cost you six or seven hundred dollars you you know how it works don't look like alice in wonderland out here uh it's critical because anytime you do not walk in the principles or you do not operate in the judgments that are in front of you then of course consequences come that you have no control over and so whenever we walk within the parameters of god's calling then of course goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives isaiah grew up in judea and israel was approaching the time of its fault there was years of conflict and negative circumstances as a consequence of not honoring god and so 200 years under 18 monarchs of eight different families here comes isaiah it is a time of total instability as a legacy then uh what they have now is a constant threat of syria from the north uh left israel with extreme difficulties why because they could not maintain their independence with with with uh god with syria then of course here comes assyria and it was moving towards israel as a far greater adversary than syria and so uh at 10 or 12 isaiah experienced the assyrian monarch that the hebrews called paul and the bible says paul came against the land and paul ravished things and isaiah at his early age had to experience the negative in a theocratic environment knowing all the time that if i follow god the way i should then power and victory will be ours he uh they bought pull off for a payment of a hundred talents of silver uh approximately a million dollars you find that in first kings and at 30 to 35 years old our israel again experiences a greater assyrian and this is take that the policer and uh god and he now just had a career of conquest uh i say all that to say that syria tried to make an alliance with israel and jude and of course a has declined and made himself a vassal of assyria and of course resin of damascus came along and samaria attacked ahaz and again here is the kingdom under great pressure under great fire by now israel has been subjugated to outside forces and not only were they subjugated to outside forces but they subjugated themselves internally because the strong always seeks to destroy the power of the weak the strong always manipulates the weak and tries to get them to give them everything that they need at the age of 55 years old isaiah had to deal with shalmaneser and uh who was ticas polizer's successor and and he decided he wanted to decimate israel so now for three years israel resisted but ultimately they fell in 722 bc it was sargon who disposed of shalmunese and to claim and he carried out of israel 27 280 prisoners and judah stood all by itself it is here now then that there is nothing but suffering because we've been subjugated to higher powers and many of us living right here in america right here in this church have had nothing but a series of difficult times in our lives we have had a history of battles there is some folk who walk in this building who don't get in here easily they don't get in here without a battle when they left home they left a battle on their jobs they have to battle with people in their families they got to battle often times even in love relationships they have to battle and many people have had just a history of oppression a history of financial disaster or history of having to buy off your enemies even hezekiah had to do the same and so consequently the spirit now seeks out to identify who is it that has a need of a word from the lord who is it that god can anoint who has sensitivities so that other people can be blessed by their presence who is it that sits in the house of god and just doesn't think about themselves but think about others as jesus have thought about us oh i feel all right i feel all right it is surprising that we have not linked the analogy of god's justifying righteousness and his righteousness that creates justice and i think the reason for that is we have separated a great deal the old testament from the new if you look at paul as he talks about the justification of sinners it becomes the revelation of god's righteousness in the world anytime god can come in your life and take you from negative to positive that shows that god has the righteousness to bring you out of your darkness into your marvelous light in the old testament it wasn't the justifying of sinners it was the establishing of justice because none of us can be liberated spiritually and look at other people who are still bound and not operate within the spirit to set them free as god has set us free uh can i preach like i feel it i don't want to get too political but understand this in a christian environment such as america if the holy spirit is operating and the holy spirit does operate you can never have men making so much more money than women if there is a fellowship of the spirit there should never be a situation where someone is subjugated like a slave and mistreated by someone who is better off financially i remember clearly and maybe this is the last message i should preach on the holy spirit and that is in the lord there is neither male nor female there is neither bond nor slave rather bond or free there is neither there is neither there is neither there is neither there is neither there is neither there is neither there is neither there is neither there is neither what is the neither uh-huh no come on there is neither born nor free there is neither male nor female in god what god does is through the fellowship of the holy spirit those who have reached for those who don't have and the fellowship of the spirit brings us all together so that i don't sit over here and gloat about how wonderful i am and ignore the fact that you just don't have what somebody else has ah this is the justice of god because uh people who are deprived need justice people who are deprived need somebody to fight their battle need somebody to stand up in the gap and somebody has to have the courage to know that if i involve myself here i might just get crucified i feel like preaching here i feel you see it's quick recall because this is the quintessence of the divine mercy and that is the establishing of justice and hence it becomes the divine righteousness this is not a righteousness which establishes justice from a retributive position it is not trying to give good for good and evil for evil this is creative righteousness this is righteousness that gives good for evil this is righteousness that is so strong in its power that it doesn't have to be treated good in order to give good because this is the creative power of the holy spirit this is why when you meet him in the old testament he is the one who executes justice for the oppressed because if god does not step in to our situation who will i wish i could talk if if it wasn't god who released us from the bonds of slavery and from the disposition of crop working and all kind of demeanor kind of things if god didn't step in by the holy ghost and directed a man called martin luther king and others it was an act of the holy spirit i feel like preaching in here give somebody high five and say where are the kings in the church today he is the god who executes justice for the fatherless and for the widow and the messiah is expected to judge the poor with righteousness and decide with equity for the wretched of the land you better not go to court in this country if you don't have some money poor folk don't get represented like rich folk i might as well preach you all know the truth uh-huh if you don't have god on your side sometimes you won the case not because you had some money but because god stepped in on your side and said i am going to decide equity for the wretched of the land because god lets his spirit rest on his messiah he will bring forth justice to the nations and when the spirit is poured out from on high one writer says then justice will dwell in the wilderness and righteousness abide in the fruitful field and the fruit of righteousness will be peace if we could just have some folk around us i don't know have you ever been victim of folk who just couldn't stand you and it's one thing when somebody don't like you but don't have the power to do anything to you but when they don't like you and got the power to [Applause] you better know how to call on the lord you better know how to lift him up and how to pray and sometimes when they can't stand you and got you by the neck if it wasn't for the mercy of god and the intercession of our god that's why he said vengeance is mine i will repay while they're trying to destroy you remember i got you back and i understand what suffering is about i looked at this thing because i'm looking for him just to step in and set everybody free but jurgen mutman says and i quote this means in the first place that god who in his almighty power created heaven and the earth is on the side of the people who suffer violence because they cannot defend themselves unquote their rights are his divine concern which means he places the weak and the vulnerable under his divine protection i don't know how you feel but my mama was like that anytime i wouldn't cry as a baby i wouldn't cry that's why i can't sing so uh anybody crying as a baby let them cry so they can exercise their vocal cords i didn't cry and when i was hungry my brothers would just grab everything and i would just suck my finger because of that the statement is made that the humble calf sucks the most milk because what mama's going to make sure and do is intercede for the one that everybody else dominates now just leave that that's your brothers now leave that's your sister's don't touch it and you can't go against mama when she's standing up for somebody let them treat you like a piece of trash and see won't god stand up in your favor and say now that belongs to him let it alone and you better get your mouth off him too oh i feel like having church it means he places them and who hurts them hurts him isaiah 66 said all these things my hand have made saith the lord but this is the man on whom i will look he that is wretched and of a broken spirit if i were you i'd watch how i talk to a derelict on the side of the street because you ride past him in a mercedes don't treat him like a piece of trash cause you can have a mercedes today and on your feet tomorrow i feel the holy ghost some folk been there and done that ah every now and then when you look at somebody in a mess drop off a dollar or two buy them a meal or two and say lord i thank you for watching over me and keeping me from poverty boulevard if it hadn't been for the goodness of the lord i'd be sitting on the street corner myself rocking like a crazy man i feel god here one writer says we say that god is on the side of his most vulnerable creatures we can then understand his preferential option for the poor if we add that god's empathy his feeling with the least of those he has created is a part of this option then their experience is his experience and what happens to them happens to him this is the power then of matthew's presentation because he said you thought you didn't know who i was but you treated them with impecunity and didn't know you were treating me i have been places i remember going to one of my favorite restaurants and i sent somebody ahead of me and they didn't know the person was with me so when they got there there were no seats in the place but when i walked up they said ah come on we got a seat for you the person almost went crazy but when they found out they were with me now they got apologetic i wonder do you understand how it works all of a sudden everybody won't apologize want to make it up and want to do right now because you see who's coming behind you can't fix it when you mess up one of god's children and god shows up and says you did it to me if you talk to my daughter like a dog you talking to me if you plotting to bring my child down you trying to bring me down if you trying to hurt somebody on the right just because they don't have what you have you remember you're doing it to me and when i get ready to join you can't nobody stop it i feel the holy ghost in here give somebody high five and say the lord is on your side every time you cried it moved him every time they tried to waste you it bothered him and you don't have to worry he's getting ready to flip the script i feel like preaching he is the power of the powerless god himself has been the victim of violence because when he came into this world he suffered what evil people do it's god who creates the justice for those who are deprived from it because he's experienced what each one of us experience when our rights have been taken from us and people treat us in our homes like we don't have a place they treat us in the street like we don't have a place they treat us on the job like we're inferior people they treat us in the stores like we don't have a place but every time they treat us like that the lord opens doors that they don't even want to open and he makes ways that they don't want to be made the god i serve he has the power to do what folk don't want him to do and they can hate all they want to but they are the ones that brought him to our side because you got to learn how to thank god for your oppressors and thank god for your enemies because they bring the power of the holy ghost to rest in the middle of your life treat me bad if you wanna talk about me if you wanna plot to bring me down if you wanna at the end of the day the lord will make a way somehow i feel the holy ghost in here shake somebody's hand like you gonna shake it off and say don't worry about what they're doing to you god already knows because what they're doing to you they're doing to him that's why he says surely he has borne our grief and taken upon himself our pain that means when i'm sick he's sick when i'm tormented he's tormented when you're plotting against me you're plotting against him because he takes on the sufferings of the world he's anointed to do it and when his children are brought out they want to bring other people out because they know what it feels like not to have anybody on their side that's why the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed we've got some folk in here planning to help other people and i'm telling you i don't care how hard it is don't abort your anointing because it's an anointing from god that says i will put my spirit upon you that instead of just looking for yourself you'll look for somebody else and i have to anoint you to absorb all of the difficulties that come with trying to bless somebody because it ain't easy to bless folk today because you got so many haters around who are trying to stop you from helping somebody can i preach like a feeling he didn't ask why they were sick he didn't ask why they were imprisoned he didn't ask what did they do to get there and if they had any sense they wouldn't have been there he said they were there and you didn't visit them you judged them instead can i preach like you feel it you ain't got no business judging anybody that's locked up in jail because if it wasn't for the goodness of god you to kill somebody yourself you had the gun cocked but god wouldn't let you shoot it can i preach like i feel it all them gungeous cigarettes you had and all that dope you had in the car when god pulled it when god let the man not see it can i preach like i feel it i'm talking to some folk in here let's have church patrick that's come out of a whole lot of junk if it wasn't for the lord you'd have been locked up yourself right now somebody in here is hoping the lord let them out because the devil's got them bound up and the fbi is searching them out but i got a feeling if you look up to the lord and say lord help me to help somebody else and stop me from being selfish and only think about me and mine give me an anointing that'll help me break the yolk can i preach like i feel it we got some folk up in here that if it wasn't for the lord that pimp would have turned you out but god stopped him at the best part of your life and gave you your life back and you won't even testify that if it wasn't for the lord i'd still be on the block but the holy ghost bought me brought me save me turn me change me and not only did he bring me out he sent me the best man a woman could ever have can i preach like i feel it shake somebody's hand and say you're anointed to go back into the cesspool and tell the devil i don't care why he's in prison but i've got a word from the lord that weeping may endure former night but john is coming in the morning you got a responsibility now that you are holy ghost field now that you speak in other tongues you've got a responsibility to tell the devil where two or three are gathered in his name i feel like preaching in here can i get some help up in here can i get some help two or three give me three up in here one can chase a thousand and two ten thousand i'm tired of church just trying to buy mercedes trying to buy rolls royces it's all right get it but when you get it drive it down to skid row and tell somebody on the outside if it hadn't been for good on my side i wouldn't be where i am and it ain't about how much you have it's about who you are you are a child of god you are sensitive to other people's trials you hurt when they hurt you're down when they're down you cry when they cry and i can't let the devil ruin my brother no more than i can let him ruin my child i wish i had somebody here that understands it's time for warfare it's time to get on the line it's time to pray people through and let the devil know the anointing destroys the yoke do i have somebody that's got some power it's time to turn it out into the streets and tell the world we are here with an anointing with a word with power with deliverance with a name that is above i'm getting ready to close i'm getting ready to close give somebody high five and say neighbor it'll never be said i was hungry and you didn't feed me it'll never be saved i was naked and you didn't clothe me it'll never be said i was hurt and you wouldn't help me i was down and you wouldn't pick me up i needed prayer and you wouldn't pray for me i needed help and you wouldn't help me because i [Applause] have the holy ghost give somebody high five say it's time to go to work our boys are dying our children are dying the world is going to hell in a basket what does a house mean when everybody's dying shake yourself get in the race shake yourself save somebody i'm so glad the lord y'all excuse me [Applause] this is the ground that we stand on because when you die for others you cannot stay dead when you bless others you bless yourself can i preach like i feel it i'm getting ready to stop and i feel the holy ghost when you give it out the lord taps you on the shoulder i say here is some more then you give that out there is some more the more you give the more more more more more more and more more more you receive and you can't give like the lord so one day you wake up and you're a multi-millionaire and wasn't even trying to be because you were helping others the lord just keep it up and bless your soul do i have a witness in the house because you prayed for others he kept you well because you blessed others he kept you full because your clothes he kept you clothed cause you blessed others he keeps on doing great things for me [Applause] somebody in your world needs you needs you and to those of you who have been wrong misaligned mistreated lord sin a word i'm on your side and i'm closing because you understand that jesus coming into the world he didn't come in middle class he was a victim of betrayal denial he was a victim of violent people because he wanted to suffer with folk who suffer he wouldn't even take the analgesic that they gave him on the cross because that would have dulled his pain he didn't even take that he wanted to feel what every prostitute felt when she was vulnerable and manipulated he wanted to feel what every dope dopanic felt when his circumstances in life has driven him to drugs he wanted to feel what every prisoner feels even after the prisoner has repented of his wrong he is still caught in the system and not released god didn't ask what he did he just visited him anyway because my anointing is to preach the gospel of good tidings to the poor to the brokenhearted we cater to the rich because our christian values have been twisted to the place where it's all about what you have but you can have a lot and still don't do and somebody with nothing can do more than somebody who's got a lot because they can pierce their sensitivities i'm speaking to all of you today and my challenge and what i thought would be the final message of the holy spirit in that series is that the holy spirit does not only come to lead us into the right job and the right opportunity but it also anoints us anoints us to be messianic in our disposition towards other people and i promise you those of you whose lives might not feel too fulfilled i promise you to take on the project of somebody's circumstance and situation and watch fulfillment burst open like a rose blooming on a summer day because for everybody you touch you have put a piece of the god in you in them and it comes back with great fulfillment when i met you you're on skid row but look at you now look at how god has elevated you when i met you you were broken and twisted but look at how god has put you back together when i met you your family was falling apart but look at your life right now i owe you some i want you to get one person by both hands i want you to hold your brother your sister get him by both hands and i promise you you have something to offer i promise you you have messianic qualities i promise you that god has deposited something in your spiritual bank that anybody in trouble can withdraw i promise you you have words of wisdom that you can give to somebody in need of advice they don't all have to come to the front of the church looking for the preacher i promise you you have a plethora of experiences that says i'm qualified i've been to hell and back i'm qualified i can help your son i can help your daughter i'm qualified i can visit somebody in prison i'm qualified i can help to reverse the curse ah and i'm a warrior i know how to call on the lord and the lord answers my prayers i'm qualified to break the yoke to break all kind of demons i'm qualified and when i can't do it spiritually i'll do it naturally i'll be there to support i'll be your lean father in the name of jesus you are moving now to speak to those that are yours exclusively for the mission of touching other people's lives and i pray now lord that even with the difficulties they're having that they will not abort that dream but they will put everything on the line in order for the grace of god to be exhibited in other people so as i touch my neighbor right now transfer the strength of the holy ghost let the jesus attitude and disposition rise up in my brother my sister let the jesus manner of living move in them right now and i claim it in the name of jesus we claim your strength right now we pray that you move any sign of selfishness and replace it with a generous spirit we pray that you supply everything we need in order to become that army that blesses folk who are in deep trouble we pray that you turn away the injustice in our country and all of the unfair practices that we have had to experience and let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven we pray lord that you take over this country and that christianity does not succumb to capitalism but help us to influence america with a non-violent suffering that says we've got enough holy ghosts to give good where evil is presented and i claim victory right now i claim it in the life of my brother and sister and i claim that you get the enemy off his back and do it right now somebody say in the name of jesus in the name of jesus now loose your hands give god the glory in the name of jesus touch two people real quick say the yolk is broken the yolk is broken the
