More NUGGETS found in the ancient river channel.

[Music] well hello everyone denver with dinner prospecting here welcome back to my channel and if you're new welcome i hope to earn your subscription today i have got mike and pete here helping me on my dream claim we're here for day two yesterday we were having so much fun high banking and finding nuggets we never got to our second test spot third test spot third today is a rainy dreary day we decided rather than going to the gully where we plan to in the bushes we come down to the river to the second test spot and see what we can find where we're not getting slapped by wet branches all the time so we've got a nice tailings pond pete's starting to clear the spot we're gonna be digging mike's over there doing something or another i'm not sure what and we're just here having some fun on a dreary sunday you wish us luck and i hope you enjoy the better side of my compete there we go i'm smiling now stories from the previous claim owner on this claim talk about crevices cracks that are were absolutely full of gold they said down the canyon they got seven ounces of gold out of one crack so we found a crack on the edge of the river right here that we're gonna try to clear out dig into and see what we can find there happens to be a perfect tailings pond right beside it it's kind of why i chose this one first thing we have to do is remove all the overburden and rocks and then hopefully we find something good inside and ducks just flew by what moves did it move it moved drop the one above just make sure it doesn't shake loose on us this guy that's all one rock looking good that rock's coming over right away that's why we have mike here yeah strong back weak mind [Laughter] oh yeah that's loose let's get her down before okay okay backing off backing off [Music] right in the hole okay i'll go set up the high banker so because there was a long hike in today we brought the medium-sized high banker uh we don't have legs where we are just sitting on rocks right now keep everything light one length of hose we're close to the water small pump because it was hard hiking we had to keep things light and the smaller high banker is just using one set of mat three feet of dream mats should be no problem to catch the gold and here we go [Music] well day two of our trip is a complete write-off as mike said there's snowmen falling from the sky well look what mother nature dealt us today [Music] so yesterday was a complete and total write-off we worked for three or four hours in the pouring rain to find out the crevices we were trying to dig into had probably been previously worked and it was just loose stuff it was nothing inside there we got soaked right through by about noon we just gave up went home dried things off and overnight look what happened a winter wonderland the rain turned to snow we're back here hopefully drier today even though it's a bit colder and we're gonna see if we can find some nuggets today yesterday we got nothing here come mike and pete so day two for this video day three for our trip up here and we've come back to the same pit we were at for day one because the inclement weather here is a little bit scary for us to actually go hiking a long distance away from the trucks we want to stay where we can hop in a truck and stay warm so we got good nuggets in there let's find some more well we've set up the high banker the pump is all set up pete's down there just about to start it rolled some rocks just out of the way so we could dig better we are ready to go round two on this pit how much gold we're gonna get today mike oh i guarantee at least four grams i'm holding him to that what a beautiful day in the snow the sun was out a second ago and here we go first half hour's just running south of the slop the overburden stuff then we get to the good stuff dig petey dig dig mikey bit dig hey we're going as hard as we can i better get digging [Music] so that was an hour run was that an hour run hour probably two three hour run and uh we just stopped pete just off the pump and we see another nugget another good sized nugget and mike said he saw something up there yeah i see that right there nothing up top let's get the close-up for those older guys hey hey we got gold gold gold gold that's a nice nugget mike thinks it's a gram and a half that one nothing wrong with that and you see something up here too little guy there and i don't see the other one but there's another one there somewhere that guy's got character he's bumpy and chunky and thick and just like mike i mean lots of character lots of character so just clean up the top mats here all the gold we found in all of our runs have always been in the top mat or the hopper mat so oh most everything just in the top mat so here we are clean up the top mat see what other kind of pieces we have and here we go hey just those two pieces you saw that's it yeah one little round one one flake there we go those are the two other pieces looking good so we actually have a third piece this little chunk of rock was showing a little bit of yellow and it wasn't moving right i picked it up and sure enough it is gold stuck in rock so it's definitely a flake stuck in rock of some sort but i think it's just like the clay stuff that is solidified around it because it still looks like a flake it doesn't look like um raw gold that's another flake of gold there it is from the other side it is the three the four pieces of gold i guess we still have the hopper and the lower mats to do [Music] here's another good size flake up in the hopper and again it has some sort of rock attached to it but not natural like gold ore it's like the clay has hardened onto it there's the back side of it another nice piece of gold and round two now if you're wondering why we don't find much in the hopper it's because the way we run we keep the hopper filled and most of this dirt is flowing sliding off the top and not actually hitting the grid underneath at all we don't really concern ourselves with the top potter per we know the mats are going to catch any gold that we throw through it so the top hopper the grating and matting in there is just to keep the dirt from rushing through too fast to get processed properly by the grizzly in fact when we go and clean out we're usually lifting up the expanded steel and washing it down into the bottom mats even before we shut off the water [Music] mike is just scraping the clay layer getting just the material that's sitting on the clay layer and running it through and there's our second run of the day done we don't see anything in the mats this time which just means it's better at hiding right pete first time we haven't seen anything in the mats there might be something there i'm leaving this in this time just to see if maybe it's catching stuff up top it's going to mean a bit more material to clean up but hey whatever whatever it's there pete it's just hiding on us so we found one piece it's right there the sand comes off it every once well and well there we go the water just filled it in right there there's a nice little piece it's nothing big but hey it's gold it means we get at least one piece this run it's always right there it's always behind this lip the third tree yeah usually i find them right behind this lip but we must be running hotter to have it come down this far there we go there's at least one piece in our maps let's go see what else there is getting pooped this is kind of weird uh high banking like this with nothing but big pieces around we're used to high banking on the fraser river where we get you know 10 billion little pieces that add up to one of those big pieces sure makes the cleanups a lot easier here and there's no black sand to speak of so that makes it easier too just cleaning out the top mats see if that one piece is in my pan let's see if there's more pete just took the camera i got both hands okay what we got we got hey that's nice little nugget two big pickers nothing to complain about nothing wrong with that we'll take that any day pete says he likes them thick i like him chunky he liked him chunky josie did you hear that honey honey [Laughter] pete sleeping in the garage well that was it three good pieces in the first foot of matting at least the high banker banker's working as it's supposed to everything we're finding is in that first foot or so of matting turning out to be a very very nice snowy day i think it's time to break for lunch though [Music] oh i wish i got that on camera we were just messing around with the metal detector in the pit to see if oh if there was anything that we just barely missed and i got a signal that blipped to gold and blipped iron back and forth that it wasn't really that great of a signal but we thought we dig it anyways tossed in my pan and sure enough what did we find that's a nice little nugget of gold probably point one or point two let me go play around the detector a bit more unfortunately a little bit of miscommunication between mike pete and i and we think that possibly that little nugget that we just found metal detecting ended up on the ground we will detect around where we think it is but i don't have much hope unfortunately i went to put it in my suffer bottle i said i was going to put in my suffer bottle then pete came down so i left out for pete to see but because mike heard me say i was going to put it in my snuffer bottle he thought i had put him in softer bottles i'm blaming myself here i said i put it in my suffer bottle and mike heard me say that so he thought of course he put it in a supper bottle anyhow we'll see if we can find it we are on to another run and we are definitely digging out the area where we found that nugget i blamed myself more than you mike i need you slack lack of communication got us in trouble oops so my buddy pete over there looking out for me saying dan remember your heart take it easy take a break thanks pete so i get to watch for nuggets now in the high banker well the two of them dig and i clear the grizzly mike hasn't found the clay yet though no i'm down at the same level i must drop off or something disappears in some way yeah the next shovel has it [Music] [Laughter] 99 sure and one percent comes through hmm what's that do you see that what's what a chunk of rusty something it's not gold hmm i'm not seeing nothing nothing honey uh oh this could be a bad run well let's clean her up and find out well this is gonna be our last cleanup of the day the mighty pete is gonna do this one mighty pete the mini pete mighty the mini mite pete there's a nice flake but still nothing like what we were doing no water than that mike what should i do with this piece put in the bottle right away don't leave it laying around so we've decided to stop digging this pit here we have moved probably about three yards of material and here in bc mining regulations say that three yards and a meet 1.2 meters deep is all you can dig for a test pit we figure we're there we're about a meter deep we've done about three yards of material and we know our sample at this point is very very economical at this point i'm going to be bringing a mechanical miner out to have a look at this uh before i feel it back in to have a look at this deposit and see what he thinks about putting a mechanical operation on this this is profitable well we're done digging for the day we're a little bit tired it wasn't a stellar day for gold but you can't complain with what we got i'll give you some close-up shots right here there we go pete thinks that we got three grams today i'm guessing about two and a half let's hope pete's right well today was a whole lot better than yesterday and we had great time in the snow but we kept warm because it was dry yesterday was just miserable hope you enjoyed our a little adventure we have one more adventure here at my dream claim tomorrow we're going upstream we're doing some panning
