[Music] so [Music] hello welcome back to city planner plays where we are building the village of shorewood in clearwater county and we have some things going on here i walked away for a second just before starting the build and we have a fire and uh we uh are gonna have to hopefully the fire department will deal with that it looks like they tried maybe they gave up all right i guess just let these burn it's fine let's ignore it and focus on the cars that are acting like dolphins so these are gonna come around and they'll loop back around this didn't work and truthfully in the comments you guys pointed out that this is probably facing the wrong way and i think you're right i made a mistake there uh the idea was that you know often cities will look to bring buildings to the front of the street somehow i got trapped in a mindset that this was the right way it is not so we're going to rotate that around and use a little bit of youtube magic to make that happen but the main portion the main the main purpose of this build is to round out our previous build so we have one more motel to build and i want to start on some of the dolphin and car uh start on some of the uh some of the parks in the area including building the jackson and emily brown ymca so we're gonna get to that and we're also going to switch seasons but before we do all of that you asked me to provide some information about the administrative districts of communities so let's head over to the city planner place classroom and discuss this for just a minute though i'd like to dive into worldwide administrative divisions they vary widely by country and even within those countries so i'll dive into divisions in the u.s which i'm most familiar with so i've been researching this topic and it's really taught me a ton the u.s has a few different divisions and i'll list them and order a size township or town if you're in wisconsin like me village city county or parish if you're in louisiana state or commonwealth if you live in kentucky massachusetts pennsylvania or virginia so the names of these divisions can change depending on the state or commonwealth that you're in and the exact definitions for the size of these divisions also are set in state statute so some of these divisions can have the exact same name so a township and a village or a township in a city can have the exact same name even if the political entities are entirely different for instance in my area there is the city of madison and there's also the town of madison these two entities have their own municipal services including police departments and fire departments look at the two different fire trucks here very similar you'd see them both in the same area even more interestingly most of the town will be absorbed by the city in about a year or so confusingly there is not a set size for any of these entities at the national level in the u.s that means that there are some huge towns like unincorporated paradise nevada home to the las vegas strip is home to over a hundred and ninety thousand people as of the 2020 census and yes i said that the las vegas strip is not in the city of las vegas it is in an unincorporated area this lack of a set size applies to villages cities and counties too fun fact loving county in texas is the smallest county by population in the u.s with only 64 residents and no cities contrast this to chicago's cook county in illinois which is home to another 133 municipalities outside of chicago it's wild to see how different counties can be and in some cases some of these divisions can be consolidated cities and counties are often the ones that are consolidated and here's a couple examples indianapolis marin county in indiana jacksonville duvall county and florida nashville davidson county and tennessee anchorage alaska denver colorado honolulu hawaii new orleans and new orleans parish in louisiana san francisco philadelphia and philadelphia county which is kind of a long story but it's consolidated and washington dc in all of these cases the city and the county governments operate one in the same and let's talk about burrows for a minute because it's kind of a mess so boroughs mean different things in different states in alaska for instance they are county equivalents in connecticut they are incorporated municipalities within a town such as the portion of a town that provides fire police and ems service in michigan a borough is what a village becomes when it's in the process of becoming a city in new jersey boroughs are spelled wrong and the state is incredibly specific regarding what they are it's a local government of no more than four square miles with no more than 5 000 people that want to form a government with a weak mayor system with two-year terms it's kind of like a mini city in new york state it is a form of government that's higher than a county however there are only five boroughs in the entire state and they are all within new york city and they are all counties in pennsylvania they are entities that are smaller than cities but bigger than towns with residential population densities similar to that of urban areas this one was weird and oddly non-specific and in virginia they are divisions within a city sometimes so there's obviously a lot to this topic and i could have probably made a city planner explains episode out of this but i think this was fine but that said let's get back to the build and drop any questions you might have in the comments okay that was a lot there so i hope that you enjoyed that uh first things first i want to start out by changing the seasons in this build so there are a couple of different ways that you could do that you could go in and choose a different theme i'm not really interested in all of that i really like this theme and i don't want to reconstruct a theme but what i can do is go in and use alt b and bring up bob and i can do a lot with this so i can click on a tree and in the pack for this build i have i've i've downloaded a number of fall trees so what i'm gonna do is just go through here type in fall we'll hide the vanilla stuff and we can find trees that are roughly the same as the ones that we're looking to replace in terms of size we can just click on this button here map the trees and look at that they change just like that so i want to do this for some of the trees in the build and you can see that i've already replaced some of the trees in the build previous to this so this is just going to be going ahead and replacing more of those sometimes i'm not going to like what it does so i want to go through and just change this until i find something interesting that that was a different cluster than i was hoping to change so click over we'll just go through some of these this trees cluster low poly change that look at that we get some color now now i think we'll get the most bang for our buck is going out into the wooded area and actually selecting something there look at that now i know that i've got some really spectacular maples in here some sugar maples so why don't we go ahead and replace some of these with the sugar maple mix okay so we're moving in a very good direction and you see that it doesn't take much to make this feel really good so i have these late fall trees as well they have some other leaves gone it looks really nice we also have some of these younger trees so i'll replace some of those and we can certainly leave some of the greens in there as well now where it gets a little tricky is we've got all these homes and these homes and these roads right here do not have fall trees so we're going to want to go through and click on these as well and now we see that we have this is uh something that's been replaced that could revert it back but what i want to do is change these so the unfortunate thing with these is going to be that when i do change these if i don't if i don't change this in a way that it was really thoughtful i could end up with kind of a mess you know right here it's really uniform that looks pretty bad so we're gonna need to play with these a bit and truthfully having the late fall trees might be the best choice for the roadway networks because at least they blend a bit better and unfortunately we're going to do that for all of these okay so the roads are looking better i i can live with them looking like late fall trees the next thing i want to take a look at is some of the building models so this this unfortunately this bob window keeps coming back to the center every time i click on something so you'll have to you have to bear with me a little bit there so i don't want to show the individual props here i just want to see the trees i'm going to isolate those and then again type in fall and i see that what i'm replacing is a fairly large tree so i can change this in all the buildings you see that it's changed just that one now the rest of the buildings will also need to have some of their trees replaced we're just going to go through and replace some of these and now it's kind of the same deal with everything else so when we know that there are things that are easy to replace like a white birch tree with a other birch tree no it creates a really nice effect so i'm going to go through and do this for a number of the trees through here and then we'll take a look in just a second and look at this after replacing all of the trees with bob you can see that it's just it made a world of difference so there are a couple of things you know i might like to improve like you see that we've got all these beautiful reds in some of the trees but you look out here and we've got a lot of yellows so that's something that i might look to improve so again we'll alt be back into bob let's take a look at this and figure out what that light or that that's a fall red birch so why don't we go ahead we'll grab one of these it's really common the interesting thing those don't really look all that all that good in my opinion so what we're going to do is just follow that up we will convert that to a maple and then we'll take some of these smaller ones and make them birches there we go and that just gives us a little bit more color out there as well if we ever want to revert any of these back we can always just go ahead and hit revert and then they'll go back to what they were but uh the time being i am very pleased to go ahead and have what we have here which is a nice beautiful fall build now so that is the first thing down and we had a fire while i was changing the trees unfortunately thankfully it's a cemetery i don't think anything's really harmed in there so should be okay that said let's get back to our build and i want to fix up citgo what we're going to do here is just eliminate the road so we'll go through and get rid of the nodes then i'm just going to go through here click on some of these props that we've added to the clipping props and get rid of those as well and then i'm going to take these and just move them away for a second and let's go back to the drawing board i think that first of all we need to make sure that we're using the big parking lots we're not using big parking lots for this it's just it doesn't work as well so i think that sticking with the parking lot roads is probably the right approach here so let's go ahead we'll do what we did before [Music] so we're adding in this road we're making sure that it lines up well with the existing intersection that we put together and then we'll grab a big road and we'll send that right over and i'll need to use i'll need to use anarchy for this now we've got a lot of our city service buildings over here and we're going to think about those a bit more too so we'll back those away for just a second as we work on this build so now we have a proper spot to put our citgo we'll need to clean up some of our props and we've got some issues here that's not gonna work as i was hoping that's okay we will improvise and how we're gonna do that is basically we're just going to add in a service road so i'm going to actually need to do something i really didn't want to do so i really did not want to have this come on to the main road i think i might have to so the reason is because of the way that this mod works the other option is to kind of come up and snake a road around i could do that maybe i will maybe it will because i don't think that they would get much access off the main street at this point and even this i've seen access like this asked for and granted but it's really not ideal come through here with node controller and you can see that the issue that we're having here is that we didn't actually connect we didn't actually connect up with our road connection there so we ended up with kind of a weird situation now that we've made that connection things are a little bit better we can use node controller to clean things up we will use our bend trick over here to make things look a little bit better a little bit cleaner and then let's move this gas station where it should be i think i probably could have gone with a smaller parking lot road but this will this will be fine we'll add some parking to the front and that'll do just fine so we've certainly got some cleanup to do that's okay and then we also need some parking stalls in here so let's go i'm gonna i'm gonna go with the largest bank i can find and then we'll go down to our individual stalls and then over here i'm going to add some parking to the side of the building so we will add some accessible stalls over here so again control x to release this and control x again as we go to the other side of the building and add some of our parking there we go so yeah this is huge we probably yeah i might i might actually i don't want to do this but i'm curious if i downgrade this that's probably a more rational size yeah we're gonna go with it we're gonna we're gonna go with it it it to me makes a ton more sense so in terms of the impervious that we're allowing it's just a lot more rational of an amount so that said we need to re-establish our parking because we got rid of all of that we also need to look at our node controller you might even want to pull this all closer to the road there we go that is a pretty good change in my book let's [Music] make sure that our canopy is as straight as it can be focusing on our building first it's probably a good approach got a canopy right up there and then we'll add some parking after we add some concrete so pop out of that view so i can actually see what i'm doing there we go it's not perfect but we'll add some landscaping to clean that up a bit and then we need our parking and we should be good on this particular gas station all right there we go we've got some parking i wish i had a line to put there to make that look a little bit better and i will add a bank of parking on the back we can we can certainly do that we've got the space for it citgo is going to ask for it so we will give it to them and there we go this should be a better functioning citgo we do have a couple of modifications we need to make at this point we had them add in all of this fencing and we wrapped the building that was there with landscaping and now that landscaping no longer exists so let's go ahead and make some improvements here get this fixed [Music] okay and the last thing we need to do here is move our citco sign because this is no longer a very good location they're likely going to want that right in front of this there we go and i think that this looks a ton better it's going to function better and i'm i'm pleased with the result so i hope that you are as well next so we've got all these town center buildings and they're just kind of floating around here so what we're going to do is move these a bit so to start out i'm just going to pull them back here we're gonna avoid eminent domain and uh be the bad people that that go ahead and skirt the law so what i'm gonna do here is just pull this road up here a bit and we'll create some sort of plaza here and then add in some of our city service buildings to front this road now the one building that we're missing is a post office so i do want to add that we have this small post office which i think will fit in really well we use this one in belmont as well and it to me it's it it fits perfectly in this area now this road on the other hand doesn't it's got this sidewalk kind of suburban with street let's see if there's something a bit more appropriate maybe make it feel a little bit more like a festival sort of street well that doesn't really mesh well the networks don't mesh all that well which is unfortunate [Music] i think i'll probably go with something like this and then we're going to want to clean up the pavement in between because it's pretty messy at this point and as ugly as i believe this to be i think it is pretty rational and something you might see in this area in fact we're going to call a quick mulligan on a little bit of the street here and convert it so that the networks mesh together a little bit better so that's me playing the game not me shooting for realistic in that particular in that particular way and then we're gonna add some trees back here and we're just going to wow there's some tropical looking stuff going on there i do not like that let's let's get that fixed first so it's these low poly shrubs we're going to replace them with grasses yeah that to me makes a ton more sense anyway it just looks a lot more rational so we've got that and i lost my my train of thought oh oh yeah trees so let's select a tree i think to make this blend in a bit better we're just going to add some mulch and some other landscaping cover up a bit of this so not perfect but it's a way to cover that up and fill it in a bit so not the most exciting street here in the future this will become more lively but for the time oh and i took out the fence uh for the time being i do think that this is an adequate solution for this particular area but we do need to get our fence back so let's add that back in there we go that's that's better so here we could just do something pretty basic maybe a gazebo in the center and some walking paths nothing that's gonna that's gonna shock the world so there we go not nothing all that extravagant but it does lend a little bit of credence to this place being a city services center i think that we should also create some separation in between the citgo and these buildings they are very ugly but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't take some pride in them so i'm just adding some planter boxes here trying to provide enough separation that they make sense it is certainly a bit of a trick in this location because there's not a lot to delineate the public right-of-way from the where the building starts so that does make it tricky that said we'll do our best with what we have i think that we're doing okay that's way too big so let's see if we can find a smaller tree we'll grab this one and that at least provides a degree of separation between the public and private realms might also see a fence or something like that here but truthfully in a city of this size it's fine and really why would you want to discourage pedestrianism which is ultimately what you do in reality by adding a fence there so i'm not gonna get overly crazy about that but i can certainly see it becoming a thing so we'll leave that there and move on to our next project which is another motel so generally these types of uses will cluster and one of the questions that i saw mentioned in the comments directly referenced how a city could determine the type of use that would occur here you know a city doesn't just say we want a hotel and a hotel springs up there and that's actually not true so it's it's partially true it's partially not there are two different types or two different ways to zone this so number one you go conventional zoning and you could create a district that is so prescriptive that only these kinds of uses could spring up here so you could say that in these districts buildings of you know significant square footage that serve hospitality type uses those are all that's allowed you could say hospitality and you know sit down restaurants and now you have limited it to diners and motels and the other way you could do it is you could uh the city can actually purchase the land and uh you know provide assistance to develop the kind of use that it wants to see here so that could be saying you know for 10 years 20 years we're not going to have any taxes due beyond what the improved amount is or the unimproved amount is to give a deal to to encourage this kind of use to happen here and actually go out with a request for proposals for this kind of use and even give away the land in some instances so there are ways to make this happen so all of that said let's place our holiday in so we have a holiday inn express and we're gonna put that over here for now and then we're gonna place some of our assets just off to the side for now and we will move these in the future but i want to get an idea and understanding of the size of the build and i think what we're going to do is just mirror what we've done over here but scoot it over just a bit which i don't love truthfully because what that means is that we end up with kind of a wonky roadway network now we're going to compensate for that by adding a diner over here so i'm going to grab this and see how long this is this is 13 units so 13 over here so this is where our entry is going to be and then over here we're going to have a diner and then this goes 10 back so there we go that is the start of what we're doing and we can just keep using picker to steal what we've done before we are going to need to pause this for a moment i'm going to demolish the power lines and that's going to cause problems for this building i don't want to cause problems i also need to upgrade our roadway network over here because at this point we are going to need an urban rural or an urban roadway network over here at least up to here and i'm noticing one issue with with what i've done already so let's see if i can fix this up i have [Music] teed directly into this roadway network and it doesn't like it at all so we're gonna see if there's any way to make that happen this is a terrible design but it does occur and i think that'll make the game happy so now that we have this we have all these different pavement colors which is that happens too so i'm not overly concerned about that let's get this in place we're gonna need to scoot this back just a bit just a bit to make this work so let's move this back so i'm holding control pulling it back and i'm missing things because i don't have all of them selected so give that another go there we go just a nice easy scooch back and we need to upgrade this road so we're going to steal the one that's back here just go ahead and upgrade and that is not straight so i'm going to try my best to eyeball that looks okay and now we can go ahead and take in some of our markings so it was pointed out in the comments that i probably should have had some accessible parking back here and i agree that said to do that we've got to delete that that's fine we'll we'll just go ahead and continue our stealing and then we'll go ahead and replace that so we're going to do this on both of them so we'll have it all to one side not ideal but it'll do the trick and then over here we're gonna do something very similar except that over here let's see this has a door it it looks like a door so we're going to put our accessible parking right there so to to make sure that we get it there we're going to use some smaller props i think actually it looks like we can use our larger props and then maybe we'll transition to our smaller props right away oh that fit really well that worked really well so we are going to need some sort of pavement back here i could try to paint it in probably not the cleanest and that is very clean that looks very good so over here we've got the same situation that we had over here with our drive through like our loading area so we just need to be aware of that as we're placing this so let's go ahead i was was locked in there and it just it was it was fooling me i didn't know why it was doing what it was doing now interestingly we can see that we have some sinking occurring here so to me that probably means that we have some height variation here so i'm going to try to flatten this all there we go so i just aligned that to object height it was very close so i wasn't overly concerned about the ramifications of what i was doing that said maybe i just got lucky so your mileage may vary on that if you do what i just did now again we need some accessible parking so we're going to add that in the front and we should be pretty good there we should be pretty good so again more landscaping more signage and then we should be in a spot to to move on with this so i'm going to move our signage around and i have the snapping toggle which is it's a nice feature sometimes but it can cause a lot of issues at other times there we go and then they're going to want another sign as well so we'll just move this right over here interestingly with the new trees their signs blocked a bit but it's mostly okay so i think we're gonna leave it there and we're in a spot where we can start running this again or at least we should be yep we're good our water we're fine look at that beautiful so we do need to landscape this a bit but i think we're gonna wait until we get our diner built so i'm thinking that we're going to do something very similar to what we just did over here we'll actually extend out some of this these parking facilities the main difference is i'm going to allow parking on the side of this and then we're going to build an ihop here so we i picked up a really nice ihop so we've got this pylon sign here and then we're gonna go through it's actually in here in popable rico revisited and we've got this ihop now it doesn't like the road situation so we might need to do a little bit of work there so the way that we're going to handle this is we'll go in here we'll look at our zoning tool set and we will not allow zoning in the back here or on the sides and now we have zoning nowhere we'll click on this and it'll add zoning here and then we should be able to plop this fairly simply there we go i want to center this and then we're going to paint in the rest of the concrete here because i would imagine that even though we would like to see some sort of planter they are thinking that what they normally do at all their stores all around the country and all around the world is good enough and we are so excited to get an ihop we're probably going to relent as silly as that sounds so that is the landscaping we'll get some landscaping along here we're going to basically copy what we've done here because this would be looked at in much the same way and developers take cues from other developers why would you reinvent the wheel if you don't have to so if you can get away with doing what has already been done you're going to do that so control x to get out of here again and we're gonna keep doing that and then around back we're gonna do the exact same thing except i think we can get away with one large one oh that is perfect and then along the sides again and those didn't quite line up with the old ones they're gonna be a real bear to pick i wonder if these are considered buildings oh they are and so is the ihop so we will need to place that again that was a little unintentional eminent domain but we're back in business so let's get this placed and i'm going to start in the same spot i did on the last one so i'll unlock that and there we go so now it's mirrored pretty well we can add some to our parking lot and then we should be in a good spot here that feels very natural to me that you'd see this ihop here it's announcing itself as you come down this road which is now just a mess of asphalt and businesses catering to cars but we are very proud of it as a community because this is progress so we uh we have progress or something of that nature so we're gonna go with it uh truthfully having a place like this to go out to dinner uh we're going to breakfast i guess i like going for dinner not not the worst thing in the world uh communities need options and variety and this is something and i am i'm a fan of diner food so i am i'm not going to pretend like i don't like it because i do for some reason i have a really difficult time selecting those smaller bushes i get the mulch every time so thankfully it's pretty easy to find and then we'll need a couple of trees around the outside and what i think i'm gonna do here is because we have this this combo of this planter and tree if i can just copy that whole thing and move that over here i'm gonna do it and then in the front i have a smaller tree combo so i will grab that so i guess i've i've reversed these but that's okay we can add a couple more this way we'll say that the comfort in because it's a i don't know that it's you know maybe it's a two star and a two and a half star they are looking at this from a different perspective and they want their establishment to feel a bit more homey or cozy or upscale that's what that's what they're they're shooting for and i see that there's another door right there so we're going to want to make sure that we have a path to get in so these are all the details i mentioned this in the last one these are all the details that you would see on a site plan review so planners would take a look at the site plan make sure that there's landscaping make sure that they're high quality building materials used and just generally make sure that the the flow of this works well now that said it doesn't necessarily mean that the planner loves everything that they're seeing but they are meeting zoning requirements and that is the main thing that the planners looking for that is because the zoning requirements they go through the public participation process the elected officials have endorsed and put in place by ordinance that zoning code so it's not up to the planner at that point to say i don't like this you could certainly provide that in your staff report and say you know i see these as issues these things as issues there might be a traffic pattern that that's problematic there could be too many of these sorts of uses but if it's allowed it's loud so it's just one of those things that you gotta you gotta kind of swallow your pride as a planner sometimes unfortunately is is as sad as it is and as as hard as it is for me to say so okay i'm noticing just a couple of wonky things i think i did this on purpose last time and now i'm changing it on purpose this time it was a really harsh angle there so i think that we're in a good spot here that's a good looking little development for what it is and uh we're going to move on to our next build which is the emily brown and jackson anderson brown ymca so brown city park is over here and there's been a lot of discussion about the need for some sort of community center space and this is a philanthropic thing that the browns are very excited to take on so i spent a lot of time in in the in the store trying to find in in the workshop rather trying to find an appropriate asset for this build and i just couldn't find it so i i one of the it's funny so let's let's look up what i found so this right here is the most subscribed to asset in the entire steam workshop uh or the most in uh most subscribed unique building it's just too large it's bigger than these plants over here and i didn't think it fit it is a community center but it's really just an office building so when you start to get more creative about it you think well it's just an office building what does that mean for our build well it means that we can get creative with some of our content creator packs and what i think is this small office building could be a really good fit now we're gonna have to again modify our zoning it will allow zoning off this parking lot road but we're going to do that so there'll be a staff lot back here and then the main lot here and it'll have japanese signage because apparently jackson and emily like japanese so we'll just go with it i looked through bob to see if there was a way to remove the signage and there's just not so i'm sure that if i got really really good with you know some of the the more advanced mods out there i could make this happen but in some cases the best our best friend is our imagination and we can say the j a e j a and e brown ymca and this is going to be the center of this park there will be paths that emanate from here eventually but for the time being i just want to get some i just want to get it started this is not going to be a finished product here because we're going to give a start to a number of things in this build and then finish them out in the next one so we'll have some accessible parking and then we'll round out the rest of our lot man and that pa the the parking lot snapping the parking lot snapping is just it's completely changed the way i build parking lots in this game for the better and i really appreciate that this mod exists uh it's it's really great so you'll notice that i took access off from this side street this is a it's a this it's not a side street this is a local collector it's an important road uh that said i didn't want to take it off this four lane road if at all possible like that this is a more appropriate street to take that access from so that's why we're looping around like this this parking will also serve this trail or this uh this park right here which eventually will have a trail head uh this will act as a trailhead for a future path path connection out here but this is the start of it this would have been donated by the browns and it's right by their factory so that their employees can take advantage of the proximity of this ymca that said we don't want to re constantly remind the employees that they're by work so we will add a couple of trees through here just to just to make a nicer view we'll leave this side open and then we're going to add just a couple of bushes in the front nothing extravagant just a line of bushes and then we'll get some mulch underneath those as well i'm really into the mulch right now i think that it really improves the aesthetic so in my mind why wouldn't you use it interestingly i had this building selected too so i just scooted that over a bit we'll just move that a little bit back doesn't need to be perfect it wasn't perfect before and it'll never be perfect and that's okay because some things aren't perfect all right so i want to move the one thing where i'm going to let perfect be the enemy good is right here there's mulch in this bush scoot that over just a bit looks a little better and then i'd like some flowers here as well so we'll go through here and see what we have for flowers i'll leave my prop anarchy on because i used the mulch here that's looking good that's that's that's a slick looking building that's a really big benefit to the community even if i don't love the orientation of the building it's fine it's going to blend well into this park when we get there and the last thing i want to do is focus a bit on lions park so lions park is going to be really the centerpiece of the community and we're going to use we're going to purchase a bit of land from the church because we're a little bit too close to the highway for what this the village is hoping to accomplish so we'll eliminate this road [Music] and use our curved road tool we'll have to turn on our road guidelines grab our guideline and send this over that way we are going to have a baseball field over here a baseball complex so we're hoping that someday they will have state here so all of the different all of the different uh baseball teams will play here so i know that the asset i'm using is 10 we're going to need to go 20 so we're good there so that's 10 we'll go up 10 and then another 10 this way and then we'll look up our asset so we had this high school baseball stadium that we used in ashland but it's just too big for what i'm hoping to accomplish here so this is what i'm thinking in this area and it didn't i think i needed to scoot this over one more unit so i we're gonna give that a go there we go so it's a nice little complex of baseball fields and we'll need some sort of parking here as well and i think that we're gonna we're gonna use our [Music] favorite old school method which is using this it's not going to be quite as structured it's a rural baseball field after all i'm just going to place that over here for a second and [Music] add in a road here and interestingly i don't see the parking lot lines i'm hoping that solves itself as i go through and place this it is not interestingly there are no lines here either so something happened with this asset i don't like that at all so that might force me to change my outlook on this yeah it looks like it's missing from a couple of these because i assume that that is parking there as well well we'll just roll with this for the time being i want to get that fixed before we get to the next one okay and then we're gonna need some trees to block this in and honestly we're gonna need some fencing as well they probably have some sort of netting but i think trees are the next best thing to keep the balls from hitting the cars in the freeway and truthfully i'm not sure that the dot would allow this particular field to exist at least this one the balls are likely not as problematic but there's certainly an issue with this one because you're popping them right into the field i said we'll let it sit for now and i want to see what you guys have to say about that am i off my rocker having that there or uh do you like it it does complete the aesthetic i was going for even if it is potentially problematic with the cars there maybe maybe the kids just can't hit home runs and then let's round this this roadway network out put a tree right underneath our road and uh we'll add a couple more trees back here even if it's fall and they look like this it's okay not all of the fall trees are gonna be beautiful i think that's something that we can certainly forget about from time to time when we're when we're incorporating fall trees into our builds so yeah i think we're i think we're moving in a good spot here i like i like the way this is turning out and then i want to see if it's possible to connect this up yet is so we're just going to pull this pavement over so maybe it's not the end of the world truthfully my guess is this would be gravel anyway so having unmarked payment is probably okay we will want that fixed at some point i will look into that asset and see what happens something something isn't going right and then last thing would need ro we'll need uh water lines underneath our roads where they belong there we go water pipes exactly where they should be and there was one more thing i wanted to add over here and i'm i'm running out of the ability to do it but i'm gonna try it anyway and i'm going to add it right here so i want to add some sort of practice football stadium and this is american football that i'm going to put here not soccer but eventually we might we'll probably get soccer as well it's really getting to be popular here i mean my kids are even in it and they love it there we go so i i'm gonna do something weird here and i don't know how it's gonna work but we're gonna give it a shot so i got a decal a lot of the assets in the in the in the shop just weren't great in my opinion regarding football stadiums they were all really oversized [Music] and that's not what i was looking for i just wanted something really basic so we're just gonna place a couple of these here and then we're gonna park put park generators in in the middle of it and why don't we why don't we add a soccer stadium i'll see if i have it so we've got this one and it's too big that's not gonna work so we'll need to come and deal with that the other thing we're gonna do is add some field goal so i'm just gonna turn this around and uh you know maybe we'll get mason crosby's replacement by by having this here just painful and to the vikings of all teams just terrible just terrible uh that's okay i will hold my bitterness about the packer game and not talk about it too much although it it it was painful [Laughter] so i don't know those are pretty good those are pretty good it probably could be even better but for the purpose of what i'm trying to do right now this will do the trick and we're just going to add another road here eventually i'd like to get soccer or some other sort of amenity right here but this will do the trick for now so this will be you know pop warner peewee football sort of sort of deal right here a nice baseball complex and then i want right now nothing's going to happen here but we have that uh [Music] let's see park park generator park people generator so this is that invisible asset that you can just pop in and people will show up there so they're different sizes and that denotes how many people will be there so i'll put a couple and then yeah i have to place these along a park or a roadside so i need to extend over the park so lions park will grow and now i'm hoping that i can add those people generators basically anywhere that i want nope must have a main gate that's okay we have invisible main gates so now that's totally invisible there's no path there i don't know that it makes a ton of sense to have a path i just hm i might need to do something so i will add something all the way i'll add something all the way around so yeah it's gonna look a little weird but i think it's better than than the alternative which was basically to leave it completely empty we'll see how this turns out i think we're gonna see people coming here and standing around and doing weird stuff if anyone knows of a better uh small football field asset or a way to animate this in a way that makes sense let me know same thing with uh you know if you know of a better baseball field i really like this one personally but if you think it's overbuilt let me know and uh we'll we'll definitely take care of it and if you know of a small soccer field too let me know that as well uh but with that said i think we're gonna leave it here today we've done a lot we've uh we've certainly improved the city and uh i think that we need to take a look at one more thing let's uh zoom in here and uh those people in the dugout i think they're taking a look at a city tour [Music] okay so we have accomplished a lot today we've moved our citgo we created the sports complex we've started
