MAKING A CONTRACT WITH MYSELF FOR THE NEW YEAR by R.C. BLAKES

good afternoon good afternoon I apologize for running late I was on a phone call that I could not get off of and so that's why I'm a few minutes later than I said I would be hopefully everybody see I don't see any any numbers registering yet maybe I'm missing something okay there's one thumb okay all right all right there's one well I got one that's enough well this morning or this afternoon rather we are we're going over this thing that I did with the new home church on Sunday this was the the last Sunday of 2019 and so we kind of went over this thing that I call a contract with with myself or contract with yourself and for those of you that are on my mailing list you you should have gotten a email with the download of this particular document that you should have printed out and you you can use it as we go through it to date the Scriptures the confessions all of the eight contract points that that we're going to discuss back in front you can use this and then when you're done you can sign it it's a contract with myself it's an idea that the Lord gave me relative to embracing a new year not with just a lot of empty promises or empty resolutions but actually embracing a new year with a mindset - we're gonna make it a better year by being a better I'm gonna make it a better year by being a better me and so I need to come into a contract with myself and then hold myself accountable now the Bible says in proverbs 4:23 through 26 it says keep their heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life keep thy heart with all diligence for out of your heart are the issues of life everything that is manifesting in your life is the reflection of the quality of your heart and sometimes we spend entirely too much time working on things that matter or working on things that don't matter and we fail to give the attention that we should to the things that do matter sometimes we're trying to we're trying to adjust our makeup or our haircut when the reality is that there's a cancer that needs to be cut out of our hearts so my point is sometimes we're working on everybody else and everything else and the thing that most of us fail to work on is ourselves the thing that most of us fail to work on is ourselves we're working on everything we're working on on our money we're working on our relationships we're working on this working on that but very few of us are really doing the self work to work on me because whatever is in my heart is going to be the product of my life and there's some of you who are trying to change the product of your life without making any adjustments to the quality of your heart your heart has to be readjusted now look how proverbs 4:23 through 26 reads in the message Bible version says keep vigilant watch over your heart that's where life starts don't talk out of both sides of your mouth avoid careless banter white lies and gossip keep your eyes straight ahead ignore all sideshow distractions watch your step and the road will stretch out smooth before you when you get when you get your internal right your external always aligns you shift your external world when you perfect your internal world so the scripture there I'm forgetting you guys are working with this document some of you is proverbs 4:23 through 26 let me get this and the impact point keeping your heart is a contract with yourself do you understand what that means keeping your heart is a contract with yourself in other words when I take the time to keep to tend to to maintain to perfect my heart it is a contract not only with myself it's a contract with my future because my life is going to go as my heart is out of the heart proceeds the issues of life my life will always reflect the quality or the condition of my heart so when I keep my heart I'm making a contract with myself and I'm making a contract with my future so number one point number one in the contract with myself I will focus my mind on my vision and not my circumstances or condition I will focus my mind on my vision and not my circumstances or condition now here's the confession and if you're in a place where you can do this where you can say this aloud we're gonna do it on here just like we did it at church I think God had some of my some of my YouTube family that was sharing with me on Sunday in worship but here's the confession and it is written on the documents you have but for the sake of those of you who don't have the document you don't have the document it means that you're not a part of my email list you become a part not by necessarily emailing me asking me to put you on it because that requires me remembering to get somebody to put you on it just go to RSC Blake's calm and on the first page there's a prompting to join the email group and you can do it in less than 30 seconds and you'll get everything that I send out so the point was I will focus my mind on my vision and not my circumstances or conditions here's the confession and repeating after me if you if you're in a place where you can my situation is temporary but my vision is enduring all things are working in concert to produce a beautiful harmony of purpose I am winning and that last part we repeat it I am winning I am winning so I won't focus my mind on my vision on my I will focus my mind rather on my vision and not my circumstances because all of this stuff is working together to create a beautiful harmony of purpose you can take all of those notes and hit them one by one ding dong ding dong dong and it means absolutely nothing but when you put them all together then it comes together to create a beautiful harmony of purpose and everything in your life every circumstance every condition every situation this year that has plagued you that has burden you you know everything that looks like it's just you know it's not it's just not working for you you cannot obsess over that always keep your mind in your preferred future always look beyond the circumstances are the conditions because God is working all of that out because my situation often will will often feel negative my situation will often feel negative but my vision will keep me positive my situation will often feel negative but my vision will keep me positive now here's the scripture 2nd Corinthians 4 16 through 18 2nd Corinthians 4 16 through 18 says for which cause we faint not but though our outward man perish yet the inward man is renewed day by day for our light affliction which is but for a moment but for a moment worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory while we look not at the things which are seen the conditions the circumstances but at the things which are not seen the things we see by faith for the things which are seen are temporal what does that word mean subject to change they're tangible anything that's tangible subject to change but the things which are not seen are eternal that 2nd Corinthians 4:16 through 18 second scripture under point one is Ecclesiastes 11:4 through 6 and here talks about the sovereignty of God and the the power of God it says he that observe at the wind shall not soul and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap as thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child even so thou knowest not the works of God who make it all you don't know what God is doing how God is doing what he's doing stop worrying about the circumstances in the conditions he says in the morning so that seed and in the evening with hole not thine hand but thou knowest not whether shall prosper either this or that or whether they both shall be alike good what he's saying is do what God told you to do stick to what God told you to do and stop worrying about the circumstances stop observing the wind to figure out if you're gonna soul stop observing the clouds and see if it's gonna rain to figure out if you're gonna go and reap the harvest do what God has commanded you to do and leave the rest to him that's Ecclesiastes 11:4 through 6 that's under point number 1 I will focus my mind on my vision and not my circumstances number 2 number 2 which is a big one I will not compromise I will not compromise my convictions for convenience I will not compromise my convictions for convenience I'm not gonna have something that I know I'm supposed to do in my heart but when I look around it's it's something difficult to do so I compromise the conviction of my heart for the sake of convenience now stick with the you know the path of least resistance the path of least resistance always pays the least dividends the past the path of greater resistance is where legacy and destiny live and dwell now here's the confession repeating after me my failures are the building blocks of my success nothing is wasted I learn and grow every day I will never change the standard to avoid pain promise is usually disguised as pressure I am built for this I am built for this you need to write that somewhere write it on your bathroom mirror I am built for this I will not compromise my convictions for convenience I'm not going to go the easy route no no no if I know I have a conviction in my heart to reach for a certain level I'm reaching for that level I'm not in 2020 I am NOT compromising my convictions for convenience when you're looking in Esther chapter 4 verses 13 through 17 and I would encourage you to read the whole story of Esther Esther was a young girl that was made Queen to a powerful King and there came a point where the king was being influenced to destroy annihilate Esther's people the Jews and Esther had to choose between path of convenience or the courageous path and the Bible says in Esther 4 13 through 17 then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther do not a martyr Kyla's Esther's relative and he's consoling her through this do not imagine that you in the Kings that you and the king's palace can escape any more than all the Jews Thank You Portia Mordecai is talking to just because you in a powerful position doesn't mean that you're gonna escape this calamity says do not imagine that you and the king's palace can escape any more than all the Jews for if you remain silent at this time liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place either God's gonna use you to do it or he's gonna use somebody else to do it and you and your father's house will perish since you did not help when you had the chance and who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this and for this very purpose then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai go gather all the Jews that are present in Susa and observe a fast for me do not eat or drink for three days night a date and I I and my maids also were fast in the same way then I will go in to see the king without being summoned which is against the law and if I perish if he kills me I perish so Mordecai went away and did exactly as Esther had commanded him but she made up her mind that she was not going to compromise her conviction for convenience now how many of you that are watching me now can testify to the fact that you have missed the many opportunities in the years gone by because you always compromise your true convictions for convenience you allow people to talk you out of what you know God was talking you into and you always came up short of being fulfilled because you compromised your convictions for convenience number three I like number three I really like number three I will be diligent in my business I will be diligent in my business now remember this is a contract with yourself I will be diligent in my business this means what that you you have to be in a mature posture where you're capable and willing to hold yourself accountable I will be diligent in my business why is it necessary to be diligent in one's business it's because laziness is the waster of time laziness poisons dreams laziness squanders talent and laziness cancels favour anybody that is not legion anybody that is not diligent and is lazy will never have a date with destiny now here's the confession repeating after me I will always show up I will always be prepared I will give my life and my mission everything I have I am diligent business won't take care of itself I hope number 3 I will be diligent in my business I'm gonna be whatever whatever I find my hand whatever my hand finds to do I am going to be diligent in my business proverbs 22 and 29 says see as thou a man diligent in his business he shall stand before kings he shall not stand before mean men look what I got out of this when I read this text in preparation for this session or this lesson the Holy Spirit said it may be written on the the document that I emailed to you diligence in business elevates the quality of your circle higher circles bring greater opportunities now notice 29 says seest thou a man diligent in his business he shall stand before kings he not stand before mean men so his diligence brings him to a higher quality or a higher level a higher circle a deeper quality in terms of his circle diligence in business elevates the quality quality of your circle higher circles bring greater opportunities there are some circles you will never get in until your you have proven to be diligent in the circle you presently are in if you cannot be a good employee you will never get in the manager circle if you if you cannot be diligent and faithful in the manager circle you'll never be in the owners circle right number four I will never be envious of others I will never be envious of others oh that's a poisonous mindset I will never be envious of others here's the confession repeating after me thank you Coretta I am never envious or jealous I am gifted I am intelligent I have opportunities and I can always do what I set my heart and mind to do that's the confession I am never envious or jealous I am gifted I am intelligent I have opportunities and I can always do what I set my heart and mind to do I have a reason to be envious and jealous of you I can do whatever I set my heart and mind to do I can have whatever it is I desire to have I have no reason to be jealous why be jealous of another person's favor when I can practice the same principles they use to attain that level and produce the same results I have the same thing you have I can do whatever it is I've set my heart because God here's the impact point God is not his no respecter of individuals God respects principles God doesn't care about you being black white American European African God doesn't care anything about any of that male/female God does not respect individuals God respects principles Romans 2 8 through Levin's eight through eleven says but unto them that are contentious and do not obey the truth but obey unrighteousness indignation and wrath tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that doeth evil of the Jew first and also of the gentile doesn't matter but glory honor and peace to every man that worketh good those that do evil doesn't matter if you Jew or Gentile you gonna suffer but he goes on to say but glory honor and peace to every man that worketh good to the Jew first and also also to the Gentile for there's no respect of persons with God so he's driven by principle I have no reason to be envious of you I can produce whatever it is I need to produce in my life right Genesis 4 3 through 7 we see the you know the two brothers Cain and Abel it says and in the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground but Abel brought an offering of the finest firstborn of his flock in the fat portions and the Lord had respect or regard for Abel and for his offering but for Cain and his offering he had no respect so Cain became extremely angry indignant and he looked annoyed and hostile and the Lord said to Cain why are you so angry and why do you look annoyed if you do well believing me and doing what is acceptable and pleasing to me will you not be accepted and if you do not do well but ignore my instruction send crouches at your door its desire is for you to overpower you but you must master it so he's saying why are you sitting there jealous and angry and mad about me accepting your brother when you can follow the same principle and get the same result there's no reason for you to walk around here Petty and jealous and envious of people thank you so much Kim there's no reason for it there's no reason for it some of you all have just hindered yourselves because you're so small and you're so petting you're so jealous and you're just pulling everybody down and you're gossiping come on now get on the part of that number five I will be the best me in every way I will be the best me in every way in 2020 I'm gonna give the world the best version of me here's the confession repeating after me I will maximize my potential by exercising my body laura mercier by exercising my body my mind and my spirit I will eat better read more learn daily and pray fervently what's the last part of this I will show up for myself I will be the best meat in every way I'm gonna show up for me this year I'm not I'm not going to try to present the best version of me Thank You Eileen because I'm trying to impress you I ain't trying to impress you I'm not trying to impress him her or them I'm trying to impress me I'm showing up for me this year I will be the best me in every way this year I'm not going to have another year go by and look at myself and realize that I'm just about 1/4 of my potential this year I'm going to maximize my potential to the best of my ability I may not hit a hundred percent but I guarantee I'm gonna do much better than I've done in the past the world is going to see the best version of me this year look what the Bible says in first Thessalonians 5 and 23 says in a very God of peace sanctify you wholly or entirely and I pre God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ so he says your whole spirit your whole soul in your whole body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ so you've got to work on all parts see there a lot of you that's working on you know your makeup but you haven't you haven't done anything about your mindset there lot of you that's working on your money and your mindset your makeup but you haven't done anything about your health you got your money right you look cute but your body falling apart you know come on we got this ties to be whole life development if you're gonna be the best you in every way you got to be the best you spirit soul and body you got to be the best you spirit soul and body there's no sense in having muscles and no peace oh thank you so much Tonia and I think it was Chi there's no sense in having there's no sense in having the Holy Ghost and and eating wrong and and your body falling apart all your all your organs are dying on you because you're poisoning yourself it's time for you to be the best you in every way this is a contract you must make with yourself number six only have eight number six only have eight I will not be distracted with pointless relationships I am NOT gonna sit around here running behind fighting for relationships that at the end of the day mean absolutely nothing to me my future my mental health or my well-being at large or in general here's the confession I will no longer hold on to people who have no purpose place or positive impact in my life I am enough as an individual it's okay it's okay anybody that needs to move on in you know leave out its ok thank you glitter girl god bless you it's okay because I'm enough as an individual I'm enough as an individual I used to think that I needed you and them to you know be a part of my life to bring give value to me but I discovered I've learned that the Creator has made my value in my worth intrinsic it was built in separate and apart from you in anybody else it's okay I will not be distracted with pointless relationships in 2020 I'm not gonna do it I'm not gonna do it I'm gonna surrender to God God's gonna give me the power to break all of these soul ties they've got my joy and my peace incarcerated I'm just I'm just I'm going to another level I'm not I'm not doing I'm not doing the same old thing same old same old in 2020 that I've done the last five six 10 years I'm just not doing it I will not be distracted with pointless relationships first John two and 19 says they went out from us but they were not of us but they had been of us they would no doubt have continued with us but they went out that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us they talk about people leaving out of the church that's the context of this people leaving out of the New Testament church and everybody one and where they going where they went out because there wasn't up us and he says the they left so it would be that it would be made manifest that they weren't office one all of us but here's a principle that you can apply to your life anybody that can leave your life is supposed to and you cannot sit around and waste another 12 months running behind somebody that's running from you and sometimes you say the F when the reality is that God kicked them out it wasn't an entrance that they left out of it was an exit that God created no more pointless relationships alright number seven I only have eight I will not waste another moment in bitterness I will not waste another moment in bitterness here's a confession I will not be consumed with things I cannot change I will forgive and release now I used the word here and I'm gonna explain it useless people I will retaliate with a successful future forgiveness is the gift I will give myself now use the word useless and one of my dear hearts emailed me and I definitely felt our heart and I understood what she was saying she was saying that she thought that that was a harsh word and that maybe I should change it and I probably could have used a more politically correct term because nobody is useless even the most vile among us if they find God there's purpose God you know God has purpose for them and you know God God can redeem anybody I believe God can redeem anybody but the fact remains there are some people who are useless as it pertains to me and where I'm going and that's the point I was making if if you play no role no positive godly role in my life and I'm constantly consumed with you and you're constantly poisoning my life for me you become useless you're as useless as alcohol you as useless as drugs you know the same drug that may bring healing to one person or take pain away from a person is the same drug that's killing other people on the street it's useless for them so I'm not calling people at large useless but I'm saying take inventory of your life and figure out who are the people in your life that you've given all of your yourself to and they've proven to mean absolutely nothing to you that's that's the point that's the point I was making you know and then I say all right the confession is I will retaliate with a successful future forgiveness is the gift I will give myself that's the confession I don't I know I didn't do it in a cadence that you all could follow me so maybe we'll do it together let's do it again I will not be consumed with things I cannot change I will forgive and release useless people I will retaliate with a successful future forgiveness is the gift I will give myself now Matthew 6:14 and 15 says for if he forgive men their trespasses your heavenly Father will also forgive you but if you forgive not men their trespasses neither will your Father forgive your trespasses and I thought that was an interesting text to plug in to this point 7 because what bitterness does is it causes me to hold on to people and what they've done and what I'm not realizing is that what bitterness does is it separates it breaks the fellowship between me and God and there's nobody that is that important that I'm going to allow you to break my fellowship with my Creator he says if you don't forgive people it's gonna be it's gonna be hard for me to forgive you so if I have to release you to grab hold to God you are released forgiveness is really not you know forgiveness is me releasing myself actually it's me saying I've held only you long enough let me let you go and let me let God do with you what he desires whatever that is and let me move forward with my life I will not waste another moment in bitterness and then number 8 and then I'm done thank you all for spending your lunch time with me I will manage my money like it's the profit of my future not profit as in PR o fi t but profit as in PR o Phe T in other words the way I manage my money whoa can predict or foretell what my future will look like I am NOT going to make these monies all of 20 20 and send none of it into my future I'm going to invest I'm going to save I am going to learn how to multiply my money I'm gonna learn do more with my money than shop I'm gonna handle my money like it's the profit of my future here's the confession I will take authority over lack and poverty by exercising wisdom with every dime God blesses me with I will create the financial future I deserve through faith and faithfulness to the principles of increase I am increasing I'm gonna apply myself I'm gonna apply myself through faith and faithfulness to the principles of increase I'm gonna learn how to handle this money how to manage this money how to multiply this money and I'm gonna apply myself faithfully to the principles of increase and I declare that I am increasing I'm increasing I don't know about you I can't speak for you and I'm not gonna wait on you to make up your mind I am increasing that's a contract I make with myself 20 20 I am increasing I'm gonna have some financial goals I'm gonna I'm gonna reach those goals I'm gonna have a quarterly goal and we'll have a six-month point goal I'm gonna have a 3/4 goal in a 12 month goal and when we get to this point in 2020 I'm gonna be able to look at my financial picture and I'll see my credit score up I'll see I'll see my I'll see everything pertaining to me financially on another level and in Luke 19 16 and 17 says then came the first saying Lord that pound have gained 10 pounds this is the man the master that left certain allotments of wealth in the hands of his servants he called them stewards and he comes back and he's checking to see what they with it and here's one he says then came the first saying Lord that pound had gained ten pounds you gave me one I turned it into ten and he said unto Him well thou good servant because thou has been faithful in a very little have the authority over ten cities when you're faithful with a little God will make you ruler over much young man a young pastor reached out NASA sent me a text message and asked me what some of the secrets I've learned about money and one of them is when you learn to respect small money large money will come if you disrespect small money you you you rarely will have an encounter with large money what you what you respect will be attracted to you what you disrespect will elude you if you disrespect money it will elude you if you respect it it will be drawn to you because it's spiritual in a lot of in a lot of ways so there are the eight points of the contract with one's self to shamah god bless you thank you there are the the eight points of the contract somebody asked me if if I would do another one they want me to do another one I deserve eight that actually the Lord gave me these at least most of these a few years ago and they were on my Facebook page and the Lord said I want you to actually present this to the public as a lesson so I pray that you got something out of this father let me pray for your father as we wind down the the last hours of this year we thank you that we are prepared in our minds to give 20/20 our very best and God as we what we sow into the year God we knows what we will reap from the year we will always reap more than we sold so God we thank you that we're in a posture to give our very very best and God we thank you that you will honor your word and you will multiply everything that we sow into life and into destiny I thank you God that no one will cross over into the burdened with the issues of 2019 god I think you that even though it's just it seemed like just a shifting in hours God we think it's realistically a new year it's um it's a new decade even God we thank you we thank you Father and so we give you praise and honor and we ask you now God to help us as we reach for our goals empower us to do our very best in Jesus's name Amen now don't forget to stop by my website sign up for my email are in areas maybe areas of the world where they can't find a church that really resonates with them or even areas of the country where they can't find a church that resonates with them well we have a whole team that's putting together new home Family Worship Center each Church and so a lot of we're gonna be putting a lot more energy into our electronic ministries so that people who are connected but maybe not physically in the geographical area can get the most out of the ministry so some of you I know a lot of you will want to be a part of that I'll give you the information in the days to
