what's going on guys welcome back to the channel today i'm going to be teaching you how to do this youtube end card inside davinci resolve let's get into it whether you're new to youtube or you are a very seasoned veteran at it you know that youtube end cards and the screens that you play in the images that you put up can have a very big impact on your audience and growing well today i'm gonna be showing you guys how i created this youtube end screen card right here that you're seeing it's really not that complicated and you can save it and use it for future projects let's jump inside davinci resolve and we'll get going so the first thing you're going to need is definitely some footage or image that you can edit on top of i'm just using my banner for my youtube channel something on there right now i'm making it 20 seconds long you can make it as long as you want or as short as you want i just made it 20 seconds long and i'll explain why we need to grab a fusion composition as our next step if you don't know where they are in the edit page on the effects library up here in the left corner we're going to click that we're going to hit toolbox and then effects and then we're going to grab a fusion composition we're going to drag it on top and we are going to stretch it out to 20 seconds as well i'm doing 20 seconds because on the youtube videos in the last 20 seconds is when your video clips actually pop up so i want this to animate up when i have that last 20 seconds so now what we need to do is we need to hop inside the fusion page once we're inside the fusion page the first thing we need to do is add a background node you can either click right here with this little shortcut or you can hit shift spacebar and you can look for a background node that way i'm just going to grab a background node right here i'm going to connect it to our media out so we know that it will actually show when we're done that is definitely a big step do not forget that normally i turn the alpha channel down or i just change this color to one solid color but actually what we're going to do is we're going to do multiple colors so over here in the inspector under the background we're going to click on type and instead of solid color i'm actually going to go to four corner and we are going to change these colors i'm going to do kind of like a bluish teal right there and then over here i'm going to do kind of like an orange yellow and then let's do maybe kind of a red down here and then for our last one let's do like i don't know like a bluish deep purple something like that now we're going to grab this end screen guide card right up here make sure your background node is selected i am going to grab it and i am going to just drop it right here and i am going to grab the corner of it and connect it to the out of that and it will automatically bring a merge on top of it so we can see that this is our guide image i have roughly the sizing that's about perfect for what it looks like right now for a 4k image and then i also have a safe guide area that it will not let your video clips or end cards go outside of so i would definitely try to follow this the best you can and there will be a downloadable link in the description below follow it and you can download this and bring it in and save it for future uses uh so what we need to do is we need to start messing with our background right here so i am just going to pull this over a little bit so we have a little bit more room the first thing i like to do is i like to grab a transform node that's just the way i like to do things it makes it easier having keyframes inside the transform node then i want to actually add the polygon stroke so i'm going to click that right there we are actually going to make this size a little bit smaller actually that's a little bit too small let's do 50 percent and i want to be able to draw outside of this frame so i'm just going to do a click here here here here and here and kind of just make a rough like half cut out of the side it doesn't have to be perfect i'm just kind of trying to give it a rough guideline i want it to show up obviously but i don't want it taking up the whole image itself that looks pretty good now i want to do one more thing i actually want to click on the background and i want to hit shift space bar and i want to look for a shadow because i think it will look a lot better it's going to sell it much more so we have the shadow let me move this up right here we're going to click on the shadow and i'm just going to go over to the softness right here again under the inspector shadow and i'm just going to turn it up quite a bit something like that you can't see it a whole lot on here because of the checkered background that's going on but once you put this on top of your actual video clip you will see a difference one more thing i want to do to this background before we keyframe it as i'm going to click on the transform and i'm actually going to click a color correction right here and you can either click it right here again or hit shift spacebar whatever you want to do i'm doing it after the transform so it's affecting everything right here that is behind it i'm going to make sure i'm at the very beginning of that video again inspector color correction i'm going to go right here to the hue i'm going to hit a keyframe and i'm going to go all the way to the end and i'm going to kind of scroll this through a little bit that looks pretty good now if we play that through you would see that the colors are all shifting and it's got some kind of movement to it i think it actually looks pretty cool doing it that way again this step is not necessary but if you want to follow along exactly i kind of like that retro kind of vibe that's going to it i think that looks pretty cool now we're going to scroll all the way back to the beginning and we are going to click on the transform so we can keep all our keyframes in the same i'm going to go over to i don't know that looks pretty good 5 frames looks pretty good i'm seeing the five frames right here and the right we are going to add a keyframe on the transform on center and pivot then we're going to scroll to the very beginning and we are going to just grab these little green arrows and i'm going to drag it over somewhere right there should be pretty good now if we play that through you can see that it kind of whips onto the screen and i think that looks pretty cool i'm going to do one more thing before we move on i'm going to click on the spline right here it is up in the top right i know it's transform 1 that i need so i'm going to click transform 1 i'm going to hit these little arrows to size everything together i'm going to highlight these three and i'm going to add a curve to it that way it just isn't so harsh and again you can grab these if you want and you can kind of mess with it a little bit i think that looks pretty cool yeah that looks pretty good if you're happy with that we can uncheck the spline we don't need that anymore and we are ready to move on to the actual boxes that our video clips are going to be in to start adding our boxes i'm going to click a merge i'm going to click off of it i'm going to add another merge right here i'm going to hit shift drop it down hold shift and the mouse at the same time drop it in that way they're in there uh clicking off of everything we're going to add a background node right here we're going to connect it to this if we need to size this up we can add a transform node also on top of it and we're gonna size this up just so it's covering everything up right there i'm gonna click on the background node and i actually want the color this to be white uh and then we are going to add a rectangle again you can click it right here or you can hit shift space bar on any of these you can hit shift space bar to bring up the node library to make it a lot easier over here under the inspector we're going to uncheck solid and we are going to mess with the border width and i'm actually just going to do 0.006 seems to be fine you can either grab the corner of one of these and move it around or you can grab the width and the height and mess with it i'm just going to hit command z to get back to that either way will work fine i'm going to grab it and kind of drag it over here let's move it down a little bit that looks pretty good and i'm going to actually get this sized right where i want it if i was you guys i would go right to the line or just a little bit past it not a whole lot towards kind of covering it up nice and good i need to click on the background node and i'm going to hit shift space bar and we're going to look for glow we're going to add glow right there that looks pretty good if we want to turn the glow up we can click on the glow node and we can actually make the glow size bigger we can make the glow itself brighter i think that looks pretty good i might turn that up quite a bit just to oversell it i think that looks pretty good right there move these up here so it's a little bit more tidy for my ocd then we're going to do the exact same thing for the circle we're going to click off of everything we're going to add a background we're going to connect it the background right here we're going to add a transform we're going to turn that size all the way up just so it's covering everything up click back on the background make it white we are also going to add an ellipse this time instead of a rectangle because it obviously is you know way smaller i'm going to just move this over here unclick solid we're going to make this roughly the same size i think that was pretty good and i am going to size this just to what we had right here we'll make it bigger just like that that looks pretty good we need to add the glow just the same you can either hit shift spacebar and do the same thing i did or we can space these out just a little bit more we can click on this glow right here and i'm on a mac so i'm going to hit command c i'm going to copy it i'm going to click off of everything command v to paste it i'm going to hold shift and the mouse at the same time and i'm going to drag it drop it in and it will have the exact same effects just carried over again you don't have to go that route you can also just do the shift space bar at it click on this and you know match everything that's the same i just figured out for me that that saves a lot of time the last thing we need to do is we need to keyframe these little glowing boxes i'm going to go to where i think it should be good i think seven frames and we'll be good we're going to click on the merge of the rectangle right here and we are going to click on the last settings tab right here with the little gear icon i am going to turn it all the way down on the blending mode i'm going to add a keyframe i'm going to use my arrow keys on my mouse to go over one two frames we'll turn it all the way up go over one frame turn it i don't know halfway one two all the way up one two down and we'll go one more and turn it all the way up that way it kind of has this like flicker effect and it looks a little bit better we're going to do the exact same thing to the ellipse but we're going to try to time it a little bit differently so it's on right there so we're going to go to the gear icon i'm going to turn the blend all the way down add a keyframe i'm going to go over one two i'm going to turn this all the way up one two turn it all the way down one two maybe halfway one two and then we'll turn it all the way up again you don't have to follow that exactly i'm just kind of playing with it and trying to see what looks best yeah i think that looks pretty cool they're each a little bit different it's kind of got a neon flicker effect going on and actually i think that looks pretty good right there the last thing we need to do is get rid of this you know safe guide that i have set in here so you can hover over these right here and you see how it turns blue we can click it and it takes it off don't even worry about the merge it doesn't add anything else it's not bothering anything if you ever need to fix it you can always connect it right back there and you know you're good to go but we can just uncheck that and it's not going to bring anything over now a bonus tip for you guys i would mention something in your videos like hey maybe click on this video that's over here or subscribe or something like that interacting with the animation that you put up is really going to enhance and bring your audience into what you have on the screen it's really going to tie that in to what they're seeing now obviously a lot of you are probably wondering how can you save this and not have to recreate this every time you're doing a video so the easiest way i figured out other than creating a macro which you could go in and edit if you're completely fine with this and you don't want to change anything about it we can export this out in an alpha video so what we're going to do is we're going to delete the video clip that's underneath it i'm just going to drag it to the number one right there make sure it's good we're going to hop inside the deliver page and instead of the h.26 on the quicktime which majority of them is we're actually going to change that before you do that make sure you go ahead and change the file name the location where you want to save it and instead of single clip which it normally is on which is what you would want if you're doing a full timeline you want everything exported out as one single clip we're actually just gonna do individual clip right here because we only have one and instead of h.264 we're actually gonna go to apple prores i know a lot of people like doing the dnx either one of these i don't like doing that i like going apple prores you can see obviously it doesn't bring up any alpha because we're in four to two so i'm actually going to go to uh 4444 and it's going to bring up export alpha right there you can leave all this alone really you don't have to worry too much about it we can add it to our render queue and we can just hit export now i can tell you make sure you're up to date in davinci resolve because the old ones would mess up and it would not export over five seconds if it was a fusion composition clip so make sure you're up to date i believe i'm on 16.25 i'll double check that put up on the screen if it's something different but that's what i'm in after that's done we can hop back into the edit page we can get rid of this we'll just move it down here out of the way we can bring in our new video clip right here we'll drop it there i will also grab the banner that i had and we will just drag it out and now you can see if we play that through boom it brings it up it's a video it's saved and you don't have to edit that this is really the route i would go because nothing on here no words no subscriber counts nothing like that's changing so really this is kind of the best way to do it you can have this video saved and you're completely good no problem there you go guys that's how you create the youtube in card inside davinci resolve i hope you guys learned something give me a thumbs up if you liked this video and you learned something new drop a comment below let me know do you want to see some more tutorials like this one right here do you maybe want to see like a full screen one something like that i'd love to hear your guys's thoughts in the comments below hit that subscribe button if you haven't already with the bell notification on so you don't miss any of my new videos i'm gonna use this little end screen right here you guys are amazing i'm the iron giant click something right here i'll see you guys next time peace
