in this video i am going to share with you guys a very amazing and new technique that i have created in davinci resolve 16 without using any third-party plugins which is looking like a color swap kind of effect so i am v cash for skyline motions and without any further ado let's take a new project and get started [Music] if you don't want to follow this tutorial and support our channel then go to the link in the description and download the complete project file all right so before we get started please hit the subscribe button and click on the bell icon and also hit the like button if you like this intro and let's do some basic setting and get started so click on this setting button and set the size of this project 1920 by 1080 and let's go with any frame rate so in this case i am going with 30 frame per second and i'm gonna set this playback frame rate equal to this timeline frame rate so i'm gonna set this value 30 and click on save and now i'm going to create this animation inside of this fusion page so we have to take a new fusion composition to start creating this animation so just go to this media pool right click on that and click on this new fusion composition and let's call it anything so i'm going to call it fusion comp and i'm going to set this duration six second long click on create and just drag this fusion comp on the timeline and then go to your fusion page and here we have media out node so just drag this media out to the side for now and close this media pool now let's start by taking a text node so just drag this text on this flow window and just drag this text to the viewer just go to this inspector window and let's type a text and select your favorite font style so in this case i am using architect bold font style i'm going to see the size of this text something around 0.12 all right and now just go to this setting tab and here we have appearance so i'm going to click on this option text outline and i'm going to set this stroke thickness something around 0.008 so as you can see it's looking like this all right and right click on this flow window and go to arrange tool and turn on this grid snapping that will helps you to keep this node clean and organized and now i'm going to take a rectangular mask so click on this button and add a rectangular mask just drag it over here and i'm gonna attach this rectangle with this text one and just drag this text to the viewer and now let's set this uh rectangle mask just like that click on fit button and i'm going to set this angle value 40 degree set this width value something around 0.4 and height value 0.145 maybe and now i'm gonna animate this mask so just go to on frame number 75 which is equal to two and a half second and uh just drag this uh rectangle outside of this frame right over here and i'm gonna animate this center so right click on center click on animate and just go back to very first frame of this animation and just drag this rectangular box right over here on another side and then just go to on frame number 150 which is equal to 5 second according to 30 fps and again just drag this rectangular box on this side so as you can see we have an animation and now i'm going to set this soft as value something around 0.05 maybe so as you can see it's looking like this all right and i'm going to create for instance copy of this text instead of a normal copy because we need four different copy with same property but the properties should be linked together so select this one hit ctrl c to copy right click over here and paste a instance copy just like that and as you can see both are linked together and now i'm going to create four copy of this so right click again paste instance right click again paste instance and now let's rename it properly so select this one hit f2 on the keyboard call it instance text 1 select this one hit f2 call it instance text 2 [Music] select this one hit f2 call it instance text 3 all right and now i'm going to create one more copy of this rectangle so select this one hit ctrl c to copy and hit ctrl v to paste a normal copy hit f2 on the keyboard to rename and i'm going to call it uh rectangle 2. i'm going to attach this rectangle 2 with this first instance copy all right now select this rectangle and just go to on frame number 75 where we have created a keyframe and just drag this rectangle on this side over here and go back to very first frame of this animation and again just drag this rectangular box on right side go to on frame number 150 where we have created a keyframe and again just drag this rectangular box right over here and now i'm gonna rotate this uh rectangular box just like that so i'm going to say this value something around negative 40 degree all right and now it's looking just like that and after that we have to create two more copy of this rectangular mask so select these both rectangular mask hit ctrl c to copy and hit ctrl v to paste a normal copy just drag it over here and now let's rename it properly so select this rectangle hit f2 and let's call it rectangle 3 select this one hit f2 call it rectangle 4 and now i'm going to attach this rectangle 3 with this instance 2 rectangle 4 with this instance text 3 all right and after that let's merge all these outputs so just connect this output of this instance text one with the main text and we get this new merge just drag this merge one to the viewer and now do the same thing for this so connect the output of this with this merge we get this new merge and do it again for this one so connect the output of this with this merge 2 and just drag this merge 3 to the viewer and hold alt on the keyboard and click on this connection to create a junction this is an optional step it is not necessary but it looks nice and now just drag these nodes over here and after that we have to add a glow effect so select this text one hit control plus a space bar for search box or shift plus a space bar for search box and search for glow effect so this is a glow node hit add button and select this glow and let's do some setting so before that we have to add a black background so take a new background node hit f2 on the keyboard and call it background and take a merge node so just drag this merge right over here and we have two outputs here so the first one is for background and the second one is for foreground so i'm gonna use this output as a foreground and this one as a background so we have to connect this yellow background point with this background and green foreground point with this merge 3 output and just drag this merge 4 to the viewer now select this glow and let's do some setting so just go to this inspector window and here we have glow and close size so i'm going to say this glow size 3 and i'm going to set this glow value 0.9 all right so as you can see we have nice glow effect on this and after that we have to add four more glow node with each outputs so select this glow hit ctrl c to copy right click and paste a normal copy hold shift and attach this second glow node just after this text 1 and paste it again hold shift and just attach it just like that by holding shift and right click again paste a copy hold shift and attach this glow effect or glow node just after this text three and now let's rename it properly so this is glow one so select this second one hit f2 and call it glow two select this one hit f2 call it glow three select this one hit f2 call it glow four and after that just go to this spline window hit f4 on the keyboard to full screen and let's minimize all the nodes check this rectangle 3 and rectangle 4 both and click on fit button and now i want to create a gap of one second between these two nodes and these two nodes so just go to on frame number 30 which is equal to one second select all these keyframes and move it on frame number 30. so hold this by left click hold shift on the keyboard and just drag it on frame number 30 and close this spline window all right and here we have an effect like this and after that let's create a gap over here and now let's colorize the node so what we have to do we have to add a color corrector node with this so let's take a color corrector node hit f2 on the keyboard call it color 1 hold shift on the keyboard and attach this color 1 just after this glue and select this one let's do some setting let's increase the saturation value something around it too and pick any color that you want set this tint value negative 0.17 and now let's create four different copy for each output so select this color one hit ctrl c to copy right click and paste again hit f2 on the keyboard and call it color 2 and hold shift and attach this color to just after this glow 2 and select this one and let's change the color and set this value negative 0.35 and now it's looking just like that as you can see and after that let's paste another copy of this color so right click paste a normal copy hit f2 to rename and call it color 3. hold shift on the keyboard and attach this color 3 just after this glow 3 select this one and let's change the color to orange maybe so i'm going to say this value negative 0.9 all right and finally we have to add one more color node just after this glow four so right click over here paste a normal copy hit f2 on the keyboard and call it color four hold shift on the keyboard and attach this color for just after this glow four and select this one and let's change the color so i'm going to set this value negative 0.5 and as you can see we get something like this as you can see and after that let's create one more copy of this text so select this main text node hit ctrl c to copy and we have to paste an instance copy so right click and paste an instance copy right over here place it like this hit f2 on the keyboard and call it text4 and now we have to take a merge node so just drag this merge right over here and disconnect this output and uh i'm gonna use this output as a foreground and this output as a background so we have two points in this merge so i'm gonna use this uh yellow background point with this instance and i'm gonna use this uh green foreground point with this merge three and now just drag this to the viewer and finally we have to connect this output with the main background and just drag this to the viewer and now i want to down the opacity of this uh instance text 4 so just select this instance text 4 go to this setting tab and as you all know all the property is linked with the main text and i want to down the opacity of this text node only so what we have to do we have to right click on this opacity and click on this d instance option and unlink this opacity only and let's down the opacity and set this value something around 0.2 all right and as you can see we have this type of effect all right and now let's create one more effect so we have to take a new node so hit control plus a space bar for search box or you can also hit shift and space bar for search box and search for blur and select this gaussian blur hit add button and just paste it over here and just de-attach this connection select this caution blur and connect the output of this merge 5 with this gaussian blur and just drag this gaussian blur to the viewer and after that i'm gonna do some setting with this gaussian blur so select this one go to inspector window and here we have horizontal strength and vertical strength so i'm gonna unlink this both horizontal and vertical strength so check this option and now i'm gonna down this horizontal strength to zero and set this vertical strength something around one all right and now we have two outputs the first one is looking like this and the second one is looking like this and i want to merge both the output so we have to take a new merge node and now i'm gonna use this output as a foreground and this output as a background so we have to connect this yellow background point with this output and this merge output with this green point and now just drag this merge 6 to the viewer and we get something like this and after that we have to connect main output with this merge 4 just like that and just drag this merge 4 to the viewer and we get something like this and now i want to animate this text in gs space so we have to add a node that is called dve so hit control and a space bar for search box and search for dv e and select this dbe hit add button and just drag this background and this merge four over here and i'm gonna attach this dve just after this merge six so hold shift on the keyboard and attach this dve just after this merge six and go to the end of this animation and right click on z move click on animate and go to very first frame of this animation and i'm gonna set this uh z move value 1.2 and after that we get an animation which is looking much more interesting and click on fit button and let me show you guys how you can change the text so you have to select this text one only and go to the text section and let's type anything that you want and as you can see it's looking like this and after that we have to attach this media out just after this merge 4 like this and then go to your edit page and here our animation is ready for render all right so just turn on the loop button go to very first frame of this animation and let's have a look all right so it's looking amazing and that's all for this tutorial guys i hope you like it if you like it then hit the subscribe button and click on the bell icon and also hit the like button if you like this video go to the link in the description and check out our project file also and i will see you in next tutorial till then [Music] bye you
