That's important Let's do it Oh green basically this game has This thing called cat momentum when you do a cat dive you move pretty fast, and if you swipe out of the cat dive Then you keep the momentum and like the way Like momentum preservation works in this game just really cool a lot of times You can preserve your momentum jump to jump or like through pipes even entering water you exit water. You get all her speed back It's really cool And peach because she has the float ability Like normally she's slow but every character moves the same speed with cat momentum and she has to float so she can clear huge gaps The touchscreen on the gamepad you can do a ton of things to go faster using it You can Freeze enemies in place. You can collect coins, which there's coins. You have to collect to get the green stars You need green stars to beat the game Need 170 to unlock the last level I need that guy to get a green star. So now i'm down a green star gotta make one back up Okay, there's a speed glitch if you crouch repeatedly on ice in this game you can build up like infinite speed basically Okay, i'm gonna go for it here If that seemed like a lot of speed that was actually nothing You've seen nothing if you look up like crazy individual individual level runs of this game on levels with ice Just flying your speed Is always preserved in if you never touch the ground so even if you're swimming in water Your speed is still preserved the second you touch the ground you can jump and jump with all that speed a little bit of a skip here Supposed to like open multiple bookshelves leading down to that one, but I just get that one immediately Oh gosh, I almost got hit kind of panicked You Big flagpole Captain toad levels give you a lot of green stars so They're really fast to do It's one reason why when they release this on switch presumably if that rumor is true Like how will you do it because a lot of these require the touch screen to do things one even uses the mic Go toad It's just moving the camera drop onto this star okay, some of these you have to be holding run in order to go fast enough moving the camera and like Touching the touchscreen to do different things. It's just insane This is a cool level you got that cool movement at the beginning some more cool escapes at the end So come around here Just keep a bit there and there's death planes there you have to avoid so you don't die I got it That was sketchy, but okay I like move the camera the wrong way. I dove on accident. We picked luigi here You can do it with any character, but it's best with luigi this fight Like you're supposed to wait for some platforms to come up so that you can hit his head but luigi can jump so high With the spin jump you can just hit him without waiting for the platforms Yay, this game has some hype music though You can get a backup bell in this stage, there's uh, one of those like multi boxes that just like switches around between a Bunch go, please but there's a setup where You can activate that box with the touchscreen Just like I can Hit this piranha with the touchscreen see how useful that is. Just get them out of your way There's there's one particular spot where touchscreen starts save so much time you'll see but yeah watch this Right when I hit the ground I touch it and I get the belt And I can touch all these coins see with the touchscreen now you can see why it saves so much time See how I climbed the ledge and I still had all the cat momentum Yeah this game just so cool with how you compress their momentum all the time Okay, so this stage I am holding why with my pointer finger Or index finger as we found out a lot of people. Don't call it that Uh i'm touching the touchscreen with my thumb right now and i'm controlling the camera with my middle finger Pretty crazy Stay out of the way. I did it nice Good toad This is uh in my opinion one of the most memorable levels in the game I remember from my first playthrough. I was like this level is awesome You see that I touched the screen And just blew that thing up and then I could play into it with all my momentum The touchscreen starts are really cool I just collected that key coin with the shell I threw down the hallway bounce Okay, that took ten too many swipes just getting like two too many Okay good beach Okay, I went through the box I still have speed see how I instantly jump fast to the pipe such a cool game man Get the bell on everybody just kidding. That's the big beam Also, sometimes you'll see me oh You can only climb so far. Sometimes you'll see me like let go of the wall and re-grab it You can let go of the wall and re-grab it once to get a little bit of extra timing Just once though I don't know why I want us to catch so many rabbits in all these games Loading the star earlier is better or something 100 all five record. Congrats, man Okay some more touchscreen coin collecting firework dodge Can we get the speed ball whack it speed ball This part's tough I missed the coin We're going to be luigi again Because there's one in the next level this wasn't really worth but sometimes it could be Okay good that time Okay, but again, there's these spring guys some of them actually turn That's how that normally goes Okay, so I tapped him on the touchscreen So that when I get out of this box, he'll still be like turned into a spring and I can just grab him immediately Oh fireworks Go man, come on Hardest boss that's ever been made in mario. I was talking about how gobblegut is hard, but dude this guy Just another level I can't believe they put him in the game like it's just insane Okay, one more hit we're almost there Oh, thank goodness, I made it past that I was really nervous Just kidding he is so easy They could have he's a cool concept for a boss so it's like really silly this level i'm not the best at I could definitely get a lot better at it And then the end of this level is really difficult this part's really hard So all of this speed I get from this slope I can maintain And then oh I messed it up you climb this wall You do a dive to the left and you still have the speed so you like fly into the key coin? Both of them fly back over to the right. It's kind of insane Okay, you can skip past this box but I missed a start earlier I don't normally go there so i'm not practiced at that room But we're back on track Sure Okay, touch screen stretch save a ton of time in this level watch this So throw the baseball down there Oh, okay touch that star with a baseball You can even do this when it touch screen straps faster you just like Touch that pow block and it explodes and then we touch all these switches It's broken man Go Blue lava sorry chill lava level looks very cool Come on Whatever That's not slope speed Yeah, so these speed pads actually like Lower your speed I think it's the same as diving speed. I forgot to whatever I forgot to use touch screen to collect some coins Uh, but you can get slope speed at the start. I'm just used to not touching them Yeah, a lot of times you want to avoid them if you can build up good speed Turn the brightness down on this level You don't want to get the stamp because after the level it'll play a four second cut scene to show that I got the stand This movement is a little tricky over here Nice Fireworks every day all day. This is a pretty cool level. We get to see an appearance of another power-up There's more power-ups in this game than the cat why That's what i'm saying. No, but boomerang comes in handy here But actually the boomerang's slow so we're going to immediately get rid of it until we need it Just to grab that star Slip through these torches land right on this corner. I didn't get the speed I wanted but it's fine Yeah, it's gonna be a really funny looking fight peach is going to wiggle around over here My other bombs are going to explode in his face for some reason I'm using the touch screen to flick his bombs back at him right when he throws them I missed Okay And you can't just Like the most the main reason that's so important is because if the bomb hits bowser it does Way more damage. You have to do three hits on the car to do one hit on bowser Okay, you might notice the splits say four question mark now so we're gonna go to world four in a pretty unconventional manner So there's this island we didn't play world four and we worked past it after the second level That was much better, okay, but we can fall all the way down out of bounds right onto this island in world four Taking a bunch of stars Yeah, one of the coolest tricks in like any game. It's an over world out of bounds. Like that's so cool Like most games over worlds you don't have full control of a character but like this one you run and jump on the overworld so You can do it out of bounds, it's so cool That was discovered by miiverse, by the way Someone found that well, they shared it on miiverse Spiky spike bridge the worst named level in video games Oh Go, wow, I made it. Okay That was weird Pretty much all the remaining levels are really hard Just get in there that was those were some angles man This level is tough I only have one cat suit or two two, I like to see that That's why because I get that stupid tiny jump all the time I'm gonna do it again and watch how much bigger of a jump I get this time Wow, I like actually went somewhere Wow, I can't see a thing on my tv with this brightness setting Turned it way up candles here goes Nice man Okay, cool level hard level Let's try that. I gotta hit this go There we go, finally we got lots of speed we got the jump we have the tanuki flutter It's letting us carry the speed all the way very far over to this tower and onto these clouds I even got the higher one Normally, I don't get that So yeah, cool. Skip you skip a big cutscene of meowser appearing and like all the time it takes to move through that and All the time it takes the auto scroller to scroll up to this point side effect no music So anticlimactic final fight with no music But there is an upside of that because Remember how I said you can go ahead of vertical auto scrollers in this game. Well the ending of this is a vertical auto scroller So once we watch this Meows or climb up the wall. I think this is so cool. Like bowser using power ups uses the multiply He uses the cat balance really cool But here comes the vertical auto scrolling And i'm gonna skip it and no music helps me hear what i'm doing A little bit farther wait climb up here One time I was on phoebe pace and I fell off this tower so i'm gonna be a bit careful here You can just run all the way up the camera doesn't catch up to you which is annoying Power All right, that's 3d world All right Playing as blue toad, of course Now Okay It's literally my first run of the game and basically blind i'm gonna fly up near where the red ring is The red ring of life Here it is Oops, get up And then there's a secret second layer you jump up onto Secret life sounds fun, huh?
