M855A1 vs Steel Armor

hi Andrew here so m855a1 is stupid legit you've seen it tested in gel and against armor and whatnot both here on our comm channel and on my own channel on buff man's channel on the wound channel we've done a lot of testing with it and everything that we've seen so far has been ridiculously good it just doesn't really fall short in any particular area including penetration against armor well one of the things I've been curious about is to see how far out it can continue to perforate a level 3 steel plate I don't know if you've seen it but on my channel a while ago I shot a round of m855a1 from my 11 and a half inch barrel and punched right through a level 3 steel plate at close range so if we shoot it from an 18 inch ar-15 comm upper at a level 3 steel plate at a hundred meters how well are we going to do I placed a C ATI level 3 steel plate as well as a C ATI and level 3 plus steel plate at 100 meters we're going to take some shots at it if it gets through one maybe it won't get through the other we'll see how it does you [Music] sorry but I failed to get velocities for the 18-inch barrel but the 20-inch barrel produces a velocity of 32 61 and the 16-inch barrel produces a velocity of 29 82 so it's reasonable to conclude that the 18-inch barrel is somewhere in between that at the muzzle [Music] okay so I thought that there was a really good chance that that ammunition would make it through that level three plate at least once I knew that 100 meters is probably getting close to where it might not be able to maybe somewhere near the V 50 so I wanted to take more than one shot just to be really sure and stopped all three of them so I'm actually kind of glad that the level 3 plus plate fell over on my first shot so I didn't have to waste anymore unicorn ammo on it obviously I hadn't been out to the plate yet or I wouldn't have fired that last round at the level 3 plus plate seeing as how it didn't even get through the level 3 plate what do we do next do we put a level 3 polyethylene plate at 100 meters and see if m855a1 can get through that should we move the level 3 steel plate closer say 50 meters and see if we could get through there on what other testing would you like to see leave a comment below if you think I got something wrong or if you have any questions make sure you let us know I love to hear your thoughts on these things as always have a great day
