hello everyone today i will show you how to dissolve your logo into particles in davinci resolve fusion [Music] in a minute i will show you how to create this cool looking dissolve into particles effect you can apply it to your logo text or any image you want and i know that some of you are a little bit scared of fusion but don't worry today we will be using only six notes including media in and media out notes so i'm sure that everyone will be able to follow let's start [Music] i am in the editing tab in resolve and first we have to grab our fusion composition so let's go to the effects library and let's search for the fusion composition i will drag it onto my timeline and as a default it is five seconds long you can make it longer if you need it but for me five seconds is enough and now let's just click on it and let's move into fusion and here we've got only our media out note so let's move it to the right and let's grab our logo from the media pool i've got here a very simple logo that i've created in adobe illustrator just for the sake of this tutorial and i exported it as a png with no background and now when it's selected i will hit one on the keyboard so it appears in the left viewer this is how it looks and in order to create our dissolve effect we have to grab two notes so i'll hit shift space and i will search for the image emitter add and it's connected with my image and then we'll also need a p render node that is in our toolbar to be able to view the effect okay and let's connect the nodes with media out and then if media out is selected let's hit 2 on the keyboard to be able to see it in the right viewer and now you can see that our logo is bigger than the composition so we have to modify it first i will click on the media in node then i'll hit shift space again and i will search for transform node okay and here in the inspector we just have to decrease the size i will go to 0.3 it will be big enough now let's start creating our particle effect so let's click on our p image emitter node and firstly let's go to style and let's change it from point to blob and this is how the logo changed so let's go to size and let's increase the size of the particles they should be big enough to make our logo look as it looked originally so for example when i go up to 0.5 it is a little bit too blurry so i'll go down to around 0.18 and it's still not as sharp as the original one but it's very close so i'll leave it like this then i'll go to controls and first i will increase the lifespan of the image emitter because now it's set to 100 which means that the effect will last 100 frames and our composition is 119 frames so i'll change that so the effect goes from the beginning to the end okay let's go back to the first frame and now let's open the velocity and here we will be changing the velocity velocity variance so the particles don't move at the same rate and the angle so let's increase the velocity and velocity variance first not too much just a touch and let's see how it looks bear in mind that it can take a while to render this effect it's pretty heavy on the system so please be aware of it and this is how it looks so as a default the particles move to the right and in order to make them move towards the camera we have to change the angle to -90 and let's see the result okay looks great but i want to make it look more interesting so we'll add another note called turbulence between the image emitter and render okay and here in the inspector we can change random seed that randomly allocates particles at the start i've already checked what looks good for me so i'll increase it up to 400 and then we can also change the speed of how the particles move horizontally vertically and three-dimensionally and i'll change its value to 0.5 and then we can also change the density i'll go up to 30 here and let's watch it okay looks nice but let's see how it's gonna look if we change these values a bit so this time i'll change the density to 20 and random seed to 300 and let's see okay looks perfect now i want to make it look a bit smoother so i'll go here to spline i will take p image emitter and turbulence i will find my keyframes highlight them i will hit s on the keyboard i'll move my handles like this and let's watch it again looks very nice but now you can see that the logo dissolves very quickly we have no time to see how it looks but we can easily modify it in the editing tab so let's go there let's drop our logo from the media pool above the fusion composition and again it's too big so let's use the zoom control to make it the same size as the logo below okay let's stretch the timeline let's move our fusion composition 5 frames to the right so it starts later let's click on our logo above and now we are going to set the first keyframe next to the opacity we'll move the cursor five frames forwards and we'll decrease the opacity to zero and now we'll just add a crust dissolve at the end of the fusion composition so it dips to black nicely at the end and let's see the final result full screen thanks so much for watching my videos guys i hope that you like them if you do hit subscribe and if you have any questions feel free to message me see you soon
