super hot hello everyone and welcome to episode 86 of the 10 minute mulling challenge last week we did a timber truck and uh i got a little bit inspired by the additional tinkering time there and i've actually had a few comments in the comments below but i should be extending my videos and do maybe 20 minute video or something and i was thinking this week i'm gonna do i've done this in the past few now i speak in half sentences that was the third sentence i just started high score so i've done a few isometric rooms in the past and i want to elaborate that on that one a little bit more and spend a little bit more time on doing one i also got a little bit inspired by like the cyberpunk theme for one reason or another you remember back in the day i was really inspired by it when i read some books by some author i can't remember what was his name cyberpunk let's see cyberpunk author he's a famous one willian gibson neuromancer of course yeah so william gibson neuromancer sorry for any fan i know that everyone should really probably know that but i got a little bit inspired by the cyberpunk theme and since i've got i haven't used this that was another sentence start in the middle of a sentence so since i've got my gradient texture here with also the desaturated version so the lower right quadrant here anyway is emission so i can get some nice cool glowy cyan and like magenta colors for the cyberpunk look so again i won't be able to make a really cool scene in 10 minutes so let's spend a lot of bonus material here to see what we can get this scene turn into and how long that would take maybe do a test render as well with either eevee or cycles so with that said let's get started let's model ourselves a little uh cyberpunk uh room like with a little hacker in it or something like that the going down down deep dive into the matrix ready steady go um tab into edit mode eight select everything let's go dark here let's hold the ctrl key snap it down a to select everything scale shift set maybe i'll just go to the size this is by four by four meters i should be all right for a room ctrl r loop cut ctrl r loop cut there and then shift select these e to extrude 2.3 maybe like this that's a good room height and so i'm going to get the cyberpunk theme look here now what do we need for that then we need a dark my kids are screaming upstairs though they're not happy so we'll do put a table here scale it down and now i should g zed 0.8 that's the height of the table 80 centimeters roughly we'll put that on there and then here i'll do like an should we do a hole in the wall here this could be like in a space station or something or like in a on a i don't know what you call it i delete that basis alt shift select those and then right click and do bridge edge loops yeah i was thinking it could be like an asteroid or something bridge edge loops there we go and for this one i think i want to put consoles here instead of just putting the skinny legs i'm sure they'd use the storage a little bit better so maybe i'll do like here i'll put like a console thing there and i'm gonna do this a little bit more cyber punky i think and spaced out so maybe here we can do ctrl r e to extrude this one just make it a little bit more interesting and for some reason i have a feeling i want some slanted edges like this that feels a bit higher tech by as far as i i can tell so that's going to be his little work area and here i think i want to put like a steel thing so scale scale y like some shutters of some sort of scale x e to extrude [Music] and i want to go to there and in here l but brighter metal there i'm going to do a lot of this in in this shade for now e to extrude this is going to be a thing as well we're going to have to put i'll select all of this move it in to here then we're going to put his bed here and that one i want to do like shift d i'm going to duplicate that face eat extrude and then the bed is going to be like integrated into the wall like again space saving stuff there we go and move it to there and then it could be maybe this one could extend towards the bed as well like this and should we do shift d duplicate oh no i'll do like an indentation here this could be some sort of a screen as well of course where he's sleeping and again more space saving tricks here shift d to duplicate that one and e to extrude this one and here's our thing for that the bed is resting on each extrude and i'm realizing i'm wasting space underneath there so that's no good ctrl r but that could be used for something smart as well maybe there's like um some uh i don't know it could be some uh air saving stuff there shifty air saving stuff what i'm gonna mod and then here's it's gonna be a screen so d2 they've gone thicker again these days apparently no they have to be super thin of course there we go that's more high tech e to extrude hardly any edges is at all e to extrude this one can be light up this is the emission part here so let's make that one a bright like a blue color bright blue there we go when we render this later it's going to be more interesting i think so and i think he has to have like a a game here as well like a console like an old school arcade game feels a bit cyber punky to me so let's make one here should he have two he could have two and i should have looked what they looked like before and but e to extrude need to extrude there we go this is not very high-tech at all but sometimes in the cyberpunk it's low-tech look there we go i'll do eye to inset eat extrude and i think i want to tilt the screen here so i'm going to bring this one in further item set alt d to extrude long face normals got some panels there else selecting maybe i'll do a slightly different shade here control plus here this one can be emissive green should work and then i want to do some more details down here we should do it like a cyber crate as well cyberpunk crate 35 scale this down here we go e to extrude and then l to select all the link control b to bevel this make it a little bit more interesting and then l to select these linked and then i think i'm gonna do i'll just select the ones that at least you can see here i'll do all of them and then i to inset alt e to extrude long face normals in and even darker i think that's it that's a bit cyberpunky as well some crates of some sort and they're stacked two on top of each other and then here i need to extrude estes scale to bevel that one but this one i want to bring down to the floor again i think i thin set e to extrude make it look a bit more interesting there as well shift d to duplicate this is going to be as well they've gone bigger again the cpus because there's like quantum computing or something you need to extrude that's the scale e to extrude so this one's going to be a beast as well e to extrude and they even need separate cooling here for that i think so ctrl r here's going to be like a cooling thing e to extrude and i think i'll do control r control r and then let's go circle on this thing and then e to extrude that so this is our cooling area maybe i'll put some fan blades there afterwards we'll slant this one this is one beast of the machine height inset all d this is like the anti-matter cartridge necessary to power this thing he's going to be hacking some real stuff with this should we do i'll do switch this one to vertex go up here i to inset all d to extrude long face normals and here's uh usually it won't it makes this a little bit wonky so i have to do control to snap these to align them there we go and this one could be magenta we need to have some glowing magenta color here that's also a little bit high-tech so here we'll do some screen as well not a screen but some sort of a divider so just duplicate that that one and again i like the slanted edges it looks a little bit more futuristic but simple so i'm going to slant that one and there we go we got 145 left so i'm just roughing out the shape for uh this this is too dark or too bright roughing out the shape for this one so we'll spend the bonus time a lot of the most tinkering time that we've ever seen probably in any episode no i think we need an even bigger um like air the air quality is so bad in the future i'm pretty sure so i'm gonna do like this big thing here now it's just to to clean the air in the room i think so what used to be like a big computer rack it's now just an air cleaner maybe we could have a cup of tea uh features well to produce some high quality tea anyone's read the arthur dent or douglas adams books they're pretty cool e to extrude so here i'll do the same thing here i think i'll do let's go on all three here right click subdivide that should do actually and then we'll do buy to inset item set and back thin set we've got 40 seconds to go so circle on that thing scale it down circle scale it down circle escape it down and that will do they're not the same size but that's okay no one would know no one will know so all the extreme long face normals there we go and g let's make that pitch black in there that's it we're gonna put some fan blades and stuff here as well somehow three seconds to go there we go so that's gonna be it for this week folks no it's not so in this week's episode this is a totally different one so i'm going to mix it up a little bit so in the 10 minutes i only managed to produce this result here so basically it's just an outlining of my little cyberpunk area so if you slow down the speed a little bit like i've done in this one and thought a little bit more about what to put in the scene rather than stressing it just by getting any random feature in it's quite fun to think a little bit about what could go into the scene and obviously you don't have to make everything in 10 minutes so for this one i'm just gonna keep recording now and add some stuff to this and see maybe we can even render it and we'll see what the final result will be like when we put a little bit more time and effort into it so i'll just uh see if i can fast forward some sections that aren't needed uh well if i don't need to say anything i'll maybe i should just be quiet and fast forward those part but for now i'll just keep adding to it and voice out my thoughts about what could be going into this room so there's a lot of big areas still where there's a plain empty space and i think it'd be fun to just fill it out the whole room so it becomes quite busy and detailed with a lot of stuff no i don't really want any big clean areas anywhere so let's just keep going he's got his screen here and this quantum computer that looks more like a coffee maker so i think we'll keep working in this area now and i think in the future storage is going to be a big thing so i'm just going to keep adding some like sections like this where you could pretend to have different storage uh things and another thing that i like with these scenes is when you have a little bit so when you get some slants on the edges so if i actually do control said control r let's loop cut this one just so i can move these i could have beveled it too but sometimes i just want to do one edge like this because i think let's see and then old said to see through what's that there we go because then you get some nice reflections and it looks a little bit more high-tech and i don't necessarily want to do all the sides all the time like i did for this box here i want to pick which sides i slant so down here as well more storage or not necessarily storage but some sort of paneling of some sort and another thing that could look a little bit high-tech i think is when you do slanted edges let's put ctrl r here or loop cut move this one up and then you get panels that are a little bit slanted like this diagonally that could also look so if i do let's see let's extrude this one e to extrude no that's that makes no sense sometimes you have to think a little bit about what makes sense maybe we'll just extrude this one and scale it down if you want even more bevel effect onto there so that could look a little bit good when the sign on the side when the light bounces off this thing it'll add a little different shade to the grays there which could be pretty cool so i think we need to uh when we render this it's going to introduce a lot more light and i want to keep the colors quite dull anyway and dark dark maybe the bed here the bedding i haven't put any effort into this one as well and i also want to put above the bed i want to have some storage units we'll do shift d do i love that feature where you just duplicate the face e to extrude this one and above the bed here again we're gonna have more storage items here shift d to duplicate that one e to extrude and then e to extrude again if i do twice there i can just move this one in and get a little bit of an interesting thing going on there like some sort of a covered cover thing and and in the central space here okay we should do uh maybe some interesting features in the floor maybe in the future the there's like hatches and stuff in the floor because it's a metal based thing so if i do control r there ctrl r here to add a little bit more options ctrl r again so i can get some slants in here shift select these no don't like that let's move this one alone into there no we don't want to do that either ctrl r one more loop cut here this one that could be interesting and this one let's move these into there and then here's ah this looks like a good place to put a hatch eye to inset b to extrude it down and here as well should we do like a diagonal hatch here somewhere no not yet i'll wait with that one this is some axis hatch that's needed for the future chair-wise we need to i want to try to space that one out too in some weird way so i can imagine that the seat itself we know pretty much what that's going to look like need to extrude just start by have alzheimer to see through if you want to grab a face on the back there and let's see that's too high move it down to here we could even put one of the cyberpunk like a cyberpunk character in here that would be fun to make e2 extrude ctrl r and i think this one is like a magnetic thing it could be so instead of having wheels here i'm gonna have this one i don't have no idea if that makes any sense but it's like an electromagnet thing so it actually hovers super nice suspension wise that's pretty clever so it's actually hovering in the air that no one will actually realize they'll say the chair is in the air but hey this is cyberpunk it's in the future ctrl r ctrl r and then maybe we'll do actually i'll just select these and then do alt s okay s to scale them and b to extrude s to scale and then we'll do some sort of a backrest here move these in move this out i have no idea if this looks cyberpunk yet but maybe it will in the end he took it to extrude maybe that for some reason it feels like it would be more high tech if he went like this e to extrude s to scale i don't know why that would be but it feels a little bit more high-tech and unless you want to have serious issues with your spine i'll have to bring this one out a little bit so that's a bit cyber cyber spacey punky slightly different shade more gray but darker there we go i don't know if the size of this is going to be all right but um i think i want to attach this one to there so it's actually easier to move them together or nah i'll just leave it okay here as well with this one it's gonna shine green and this one should light up in some color as well and we're going to stick to the cyan and blue theme and maybe i'll change this green later on if it doesn't fit the theme so we're lacking stuff on the wall here i think i'll do shift d to duplicate this one scale e to extrude bring that on in should we do some interesting feature here just e to extrude that on control r bring that in this could be a light that's shining down on something it inset e to extrude so again item set here need to extrude and then we'll just stick some cyan or no magenta over here some light that's gonna shine down and this one different shade of gray up here i want something to shift d to duplicate scale x let's see we want to put this here maybe eat extrude eat extrude eat extrude need to extrude that on and move these in again slanted edges for some different reflections on the lights and stuff and this one we should think about what to do with uh it's an opening for the time being and i think it's going to keep being an opening of some sort but i'll put something here for some parallax type of effect eat extrude a couple of times maybe we can do it extrude here there's some path going past on the outside here just i need to put stuff here so it blocks the view out because we're gonna view it eat extrude and need to extrude s to scale on the x-axis only and heat extrude because now when we look out then there'll be a little bit of a parallax effect maybe and then i could cut this away after if i needed to but it could be some pathway that goes right outside the door here or right outside this apartment or window and should we have a hatch here down here with some ladder going down maybe let's see we could do i have to think a little bit more [Music] let's see i didn't set it to extrude i think i want to have it coming down like this for some reason big cavity whole thing here but lower this parch let's lower this whole thing c to circle select [Music] like this maybe we can do something here then i could put a some sort of a ladder here maybe we'll put a cover here shift d scale z so this part can still be covered and then we'll put some lights in it scale set e to extrude [Music] okay this one got inverted so alt n recalculate outside for the lemons scale x i can do this a little bit or scale y a little bit bigger so it goes into the geometry there ctrl r i think i want to put some stuff down here as well ctrl r so we can do this e to extrude into there this could be like a whole separate type of floor and shift d we have to put i don't know if you'd use like a ladder or some sort of a tractor beam just making sure i was recording scale x e to extrude l i guess we can still have some old-school ladder stuff there we go i'll select the link to shift d to duplicate it there we go and shift d to duplicate that one move it down move it in scale it down e to extrude and move it in and it can go in a little bit inside the geometry that's okay scale shift x to scale on everything except the z axis there and then here i'm just going to do at the top here shift d this is going to be a good way to test maybe we'll keep them 30 centimeters apart minus zero point three there we go so i think we're okay-ish for scale still i should have added some reference character maybe and it feels like it's going to be way too low here how tall is it so e one it's only one meters high down here so it's going to be tight down here maybe it's just like an additional sleeping place down here maybe this should have been the sleeping place down there so you can close this little hatch over here so instead of having like a bunk bed it could be there i think i'm gonna do something like that we can think about that anyway keep it keep that thought i think we should have some more details here e to extrude i want to go out for some reason with that one i want to go out i want to go out more often this screen we've got there already this could be a little storage area too shift d to duplicate move it up e to extrude l to select the link to move it in scale on the y axis shift d to duplicate that one there and here we need the one of those slants i think again so ctrl r i'm going to do one more loop cuts move that in that's it and i'm not convinced with this area yet so we could think about redesigning this so instead now since he's gonna sleep down here i think that's what we're gonna do i'm gonna take this one away or at least we'll shrink it so here this can be his little eating area instead no or hers we could put a cyberpunk girl in there i guess so we're changing this now and while he's eating he could have was gonna say he could roll his chair over there but it would have been a bump there but since it's an electromagnetic chair it'll just slide over this doesn't matter if the floor is not even that's one one great thing that you get to look forward to in the future so i think here instead we can have some sort of a like a dining area so now we should still be able to slide in there else like the link move this up too shift d to duplicate and the fridge could like literally be here this could be where you like make your food and store it [Music] so well scale okay i accidentally duplicated something that scale x p to extrude so here is like the equivalent of a futuristic microwave which is does something totally different these days now to a normal microwave does this one like nukes the food or something items and then to keep the futuristic look items that will slanted on the angle there scale z e to extrude still black glass on microwaves for some reason e to extrude s to scale and here's like the little power core thing that nukes this thing should have like a radioactive sign on this thing probably uh shift the scale e to extrude that one one way to do it as well is to make the slants the other way that could look a little bit more interesting too instead of always having them tilting outwards so that's going to be our food nuker and again i think i keep wanting to put like um these circular things on them for some fans so ctrl r ctrl r i to inset and then we'll do circle this is the loop tools add-on it's included with the blender by default you just have to enable it e to extrude and go dark there we go and then i think we need to do item set all the texture long face normals there's like the device no powers this whole thing so that's his food nuker and it still comes with a handle funny enough scale why do you like details you need to extrude that one the handle has to be a little bit brighter so we can see it there we go ctrl s to save do that every now and then and the food has to come from somewhere and in the future it comes just through the wall you don't have to go out so much because of the bad air so that remember this thing just cleans air and the food comes decontaminated through this hatch or at least everyone thinks it's decontaminated so here's the food hatch you need to extrude it's like an airlock thing so you need to extrude complicated structure you need to fight and set it to extrude food hatch there we go all right what else could we put still very gray everything hopefully we're going to control most things with lighting afterwards this is very experimental for me because i haven't done anything like this before and i'm hoping that when we render this thing the lighting is going to come up and make it a little bit more interesting still underneath here i could probably do some areas darker because it looks a bit more detailed than control plus this one we can make darker too and down here is a little cage for some reason it's under the food but it's the detective that's uh if it's dangerous in here because he's got like a little uh pet in here which is like a rat so it lives in this thing and if it dies then we got bad air quality in here sounds evil but the future is a little bit evil item set twice alt e to extrude long face normals and let's go dark okay so that's like the little uh maybe i'll make that transparent later on not sure yet could be tinted glass so the you don't really see it all the time so it's right under there under the table here and here's another nifty thing for the future like the cutlery that you still need cleans itself in this table here so e to extrude control r let's do control r to loop cut this thing ctrl r ctrl r ctrl r l to select the length i'll just convert this into a little uh hatch thing here scale y or not a hatch like a little cover of some sort and this one it needs to be a little bit narrower so you don't feel claustrophobic light inset need to extrude and in this hatch the cutlery just exists and it cleans itself in here and to clean itself it needs pipes piping so right click subdivide circle scale and move it in e to extrude so the pipe comes out here that's the watches applied to this thing and then control r we should probably use since we've got a little bit more of time now i can do shift s here cursor to selected select these again and now we should be able to use the spin tool here but we don't need 12 segments i just want to use see we've got 90 degrees and we only want like eight sections no we don't that's too high poly six still too high poly okay that's gonna have to do that because i accidentally deleted it and probably did a little bit too tight so let's go back here shift s cursor selected and the only thing apparently we want to change now is the wide y one hold the shift key to slide it and now mark these and now finally hold the ctrl key go to 90 degrees that's okay we go in the wall a little bit but that's okay we could change that down to four now i just want it for so we can copy this in the future to save us some time if we want to copy some pipes and stuff so and we can in fact do that straight away maybe we want to put a pipe here as well so shift e to duplicate that shift space g to get this move tool out rotate y 90 scale it up i can't remember what this was we created something here for something but someone will remember what it was probably there we go and again maybe a slant will make a little bit more interesting control r and light inset bad individual on so i'll do ice chain set again and then e to extrude that one not sure what this is yet but it could be the bin of course that's where it is and it gets sucked up here and then spat out on this side ctrl s to save again keep working with the details so it feels too empty here still so i'm going to mark these see we'll mark this part eye to inset e to extrude and mark this area item set okay i don't want to mark this one stem one's iten set e to extrude so again this is why the hover chair is super important because of all these hatches here so i think instantly that makes the room a little bit more interesting with the floor things there maybe we could put like a grid here too so i to inset e to extrude and then here i want to put this is a very inefficient way to do it but let's do it that way shift d to duplicate it e to extrude l i think i want to keep it on a scale x a little bit wider scale y and here is a little trick as well so shift d y 0.2 no that's too much 0.1 no 0.05 that's too little 0.08 and then i'll do shift r to duplicate those i know you could use like a different method too but i opted for this one you could use arrays and stuff but for that simple stuff i tend to do it this way and l delete and that made me think of an idea as well that could look a little bit more add some more detail to it and that's to have some bars and beams we still are we already have it like a round thing but for some reason it made me think that it could be good with some features like this as well there's some angled uh and that could be like a handle nearly like you grab on when you climb up and this sleeping arrangement down here we had we can still make that a little bit more interesting item set e to extrude and they still have even hatches down here so again more interesting details there and up here this is looking too plain shift d to duplicate it and eat to extrude it and for some reason it made me think that i should have a different shape to this one heat extrude it extrude i don't like to have long slants i like to have short slants like this they look better for some reason i think item set need to extrude and another thing that could look a bit more interesting as well is on the corners of objects like this if i do shift d to duplicate this one scale it down again e to extrude okay this way so we don't have to invert the normals and then here it doesn't really matter if the geometry goes into each other like this it's so low poly anyway performance is not going to be an issue so here if i move this one up to here stuff like this could look a little bit more interesting too to get give some accents to the edges and then you could slant these two if you wanted maybe we want to do that it's extruded l shift d that's it and we could in fact go ctrl r here alt shift select item set alt s to scale along should we go in or out in i think and dark but this one can have an emissive color too should we do blue or i should have some sort of a theme here that power stuff is magenta and screens are blue and old gaming console here is the only exception so far but we don't really like exceptions so maybe i'll have to go back on that one we can start to test around with some different shades so we've got the desaturated color here and i think we can start playing a little bit like with the these saturated browns and these colors too and this whole cabinet thing could probably also be of a different shade here but these colors should work like a brownie brownie style color making sure i'm still recording how far i'm like 44 minutes in um maybe these pipes would work to change the colors too can't go emissive of course so but for the pipes they should probably still be that color or should they maybe a little bit brown does that work yeah those type of colors could work too then we could change this one to maybe a greeny desaturate i like to work with the desaturated colors and that's what was missing from my old one don't like that one too too saturated still i should have even more desaturated area section but i should have a really desaturated section still too much saturation but that's okay try that one this unit should we try a different color that could do again breaks the color scheme a little bit it's not wood but it still has got some tint to that board there so on it but the console here nope that stays i think what's missing still is some more piping air type of things and i don't know if i should go for round pipes necessarily we could have another one anyway here round shapes for some reason i'm a little bit allergic to round shapes for some reason i can't stand buttons round buttons makes me cringe especially if they've got like four holes in them like i don't know why so i kids used to like to play with buttons when they were kids i didn't unless they were square but there's not many square buttons unless they're on a computer of course like him so interesting or useless rather fact from of infancy here don't like buttons eat extrude alt estes okay esther scale e to extrude and it expands there for some reason okay we'll uh keep at it we've got the purpose for everything here with the food hatch and everything like this we've got a little rabbit oh no no the cage here oh yeah this is how you can see if the rat lives actually because the air in in here should be all right but it'll measure if the air outside is okay so i'm gonna actually do shift d to duplicate that one move it down let's move it into here rotate y 90 negative okay that was wrong what happened then i did something wrong rotate y 90 scale so air is getting sucked in here now and pumped into the rat cage and if the rat stops moving it's not a good day to go out but then um luckily enough if it happens there's another hatch here conveniently that delivers a new rat that you can put in here's the hatch e to extrude so that's a new rat hatch and they come on a conveyor belt underneath here that also has got like an access panel for the servicemen to come and fix if there if the belt is broken in there so there's actually a whole crew in this place that just uh they uh live on the living rats sad but true this one can't be over there so okay and that makes me think that we should actually put a little rat in there at some point so we can see it um here this one also has for some more details i to inset e to extrude and it makes me think i haven't actually said what this thing is for and that's because i didn't it looked like like a solar thing like a sunbed but it's not so we have to figure out what's up here it could be like a storage thing so here's the the food nuker here's the cutlery thing and for some reason again i want a little bit more detail here shift the scale it down scale zed e to extrude and i want to bring this up that's it nope don't like the way i brought that up so let's bring this in instead then there here could be good too for access uh e to extrude that one and we already have the cutlery stuff here so this could be too big actually scale is that we'll slanted scale z and i have to think about i can't just put random stuff in so this actually has to have a purpose it's extendable it could come out like this if you need not if you have guests because they wouldn't fit here of course but it comes out a little bit like this it's an extractable uh thing and for uh you can't just have no entertainment when you eat so this little pad that was a pad here it can still be a pad make that a brownie color it's like an entertainment pad now since this one comes out when you eat to put your stuff on that you can put back onto there this entertainment pad has some nifty features too it's got a hologram projector thing so here between this these points here or no this is the projector point here need to extrude l to select so just to simulate that it's a bit high techy and stuff we need to make this little thing this is the smallest feature in the whole thing in the whole scene item set alt s and then make that glowy magenta that projects it out so i can actually be over here and it projects it onto no it'll be attached to that so that's the smallest feature and i'm actually realizing that that's too small of a feature note because it looks weird if everything is to one scale that's another check that i've learned too if something is set too detailed in comparison to the rest then it doesn't look like it fits in and that's the same reasoning that goes for the big empty spaces that we had before we put all this panel at work in it looks better if you uh actually try to keep the polygon sizes a little bit similar g that could be darker and here we need to put a little bit more features i think on the wall here scale x e to extrude and bring that one up and in i think i'll put a slant here too i'll move it into the wall and a different color don't worry i want to go brighter i'll just keep going darker i think maybe it would work to put one on this side too but not have it go through oh yeah it just fits behind there that could work yeah and we still don't even know what this is but i think we need something that produces light anyway need to extrude and if it was power it was magenta if it was high-tech it was blue if we do blue there i think we need more blue light in the scene anyway it could be something that projects stuff onto here ctrl s to save it and we're wasting some space here that could be more interesting so we'll do i to inset e to extrude this one put a shelf here shift d to duplicate it you need to extrude it move this one in l shift d duplicate again some more storage some more detail some more features we should put some more attention to this one this looks too dull at the moment so first thing that comes to mind is that these look too flat so we need some sort of a ring on these things so i think i'm just going to do this one and do shift d to duplicate the scale y alt e extrude long face normals and we want to go in because then we get the right normal things l scale and here maybe a little bit brighter on those and then we should start building some fan blades so let's see which way could we do this we could take these shift d to duplicate that e to extrude l change the color to a little bit gray and we've got alt select these okay i'll select those f3 checker deselect i to inset s to scale on the x-axis okay scale on the y-axis all d takes two long phase normals and then period and do individual origins comma and the normals scale x all the extreme long phase normals and scale x again no scale y rotate z and remember it's because we've got normals here on comma and individual origins that this works all the extra long phase normals has to scale them down and that could be like our fan blades light inset e to extrude s to scale bring that in and i think i want dual fonts so i'll do shift d rotate z and offset those a little bit a little bit more interesting and then we can copy this thing so i'll copy all of this and again for this one i think i want to put some slant same reasoning here i think i want to do select the outer ring there move those in but i think i want to do a ctrl r first so i get a little bit of a flat edge alt select there and then move those in for some more details there and now we can copy this l l l shift d now to do comma and do global again and then com period and do medium and then i'll do i'll copy this one so rotate z minus 90 okay minus again because we didn't want to do minus and then we hope that this one fits there it does shift d to duplicate that one this one we won't really see from the angle that we're going to use but rotate z180 and that fits in there and i think i want to do the same stuff here so i'll do shift d maybe we can modify it slightly but these are patented the design and they're the most efficient ways to when for the quantum computer they needed rotate light edit on the z-axis scale it down move it up we don't have to be too precise here i don't think oh this should do okay we've got some issues with it slightly too small you could be more precise but we can align it based on these lines here so our quantum cooling there should be solid now okay we've got some areas still where we're lacking some detail i can see this area this shutter thing needs to be a bit more detailed so maybe i'll just do control r this one is a bit difficult to grab apparently alts z control r just do loads of them alt set i'll just select alt set let's do alt and shift select every other here so i'll did all z to see through and then alt set again and then i to inset alt s the scale those and g to move it to like a black then it becomes more like a shutter type of thing that can roll up and down maybe to seal this outside thing off this must be uh air secure this one too okay we need some this one's just still been hovering for a long time and that's another feature it will should no it won't hover because people think that it's actually um not done properly so this one is not going to hover alt said see through three to get faces down shifty to duplicate it e to extrude and that turned out to be flipped so we'll do alt and recalculate outside okay we need to move this off there we go uh but a control surface of sort is needed or a keyboard control circuits e to extrude l scale it down scale z [Music] this one we can just go [Music] black keyboard ctrl r thick thing back thing scale so a lot of stuff has gone forward in the future apart from this thing it's gone a little bit backwards you still control it with a keyboard like this a thick one apparently item set all d to extrude long face normals i think i'll do this actually control r i'll just do a few control r it's got some sort of a different design in the future thank thankfully so you control it in some weird in some weird way with this thing it's nearly like a speed editing table thing and this one we can change color too okay we still need more details these big areas here are no good so i'll select this item set alt s to extrude and make that nearly black so that added a little bit more interesting shapes to this move this up and again i think i still want more details here so item set e to extrude s to scale scale on the z axis and i don't really like when it goes uh in these diagonals are too long so i'll just go in and start there [Music] all right inset here okay not that much just this light insert e to extrude and then okay that we can't really do much more with this one a little bit darker there we go so now this one is starting to look a little bit too plain so we should put some [Music] this air cleaner thing maybe we'll borrow this pipe again should be [Music] scale is that should we do [Music] something should go down in the floor here i think [Music] not very spec they don't really care about the space optimization that people have but they just want you or they don't even want you to live but they make you live so they can uh make money off it so they don't care about optimizing the space here scale it up slightly there we go and then i to insert this one e to extrude fight insert requires a lot of power as well it's got some serious uh things when it cleans the air it requires a lot of energy as well and still the top here is a bit too simple so we'll do shift d to duplicate that on scale y scale x e to extrude right inset move it up ctrl r and right inset e to extrude there we go oh some more details still looking too plain here so i think this one was too too skinny scale said down and i think maybe this could be interesting if i do eye to inset here no that couldn't be interesting but we need something here so i'll select link shift d to duplicate scale this down rotate x 180 that's a little bit more interesting i guess r e to extrude and e to extrude bring it down ctrl r i don't know what this is yet but it's got it's filling some function l to select linked change the color a little bit for some uh just to make it look a bit different this needs to be slanted too and this one needs to be slanted i don't know why but it just feels like it needs to be on this one and this one okay too dark l i'll select linked e and then i think it might look better if we mirror this thing so looks a bit off still shift d to duplicate that here we can do scale x negative one alt n recalculate outside for the normals and then we'll get it to match up roughly in the same place there there goes some symmetry it looks like an old-school iron like a smelting thing this one again i'm finding uh still areas where there's too too much plainness so ctrl r ctrl r again here i to inset need to extrude ctrl r i don't really want to do that ctrl r because it looked so wonky so we'll do shift d here instead e to extrude ctrl r on this one e to extrude and bring this one down l and darker here's where the junk comes out filter down there that needs to be emptied sometimes when you start adding details uh time really gets added onto this thing takes longer longer the further you get in because every bit of detail that you add takes more time something tells me i want to have something is too much of a void here and like an opening so i'm thinking i want to create something here anyway scale x maybe i can create something that's on top of here without making it look too weird so still moving room there and it could make it a little bit more interesting maybe scale x eye to inset all the extreme face normals you could sit on this thing it's like a couch thing too and here i want to snap this one to these so it's actually coming out so i hold the control key there and then we'll do this one can come up further shifty to duplicate this one there's going to be a space designed the couch thing the texture this one could also hover i guess and we could think about that at least need to extrude s to scale it to extrude and we should do maybe ctrl r now some reason i want to have a not symmetrical and stuff so i want to do ctrl s to say move this one down to there and for some reason i want to arc it a little bit and i should probably do it a little bit on the y-axis ctrl r okay apparently not anymore because i've wrecked the topology on the thing this is a bit too high i'm blocking too much bring that down i to insert this one all the extrude long phase normals in and g those are quite power yeah it's a power thing in there as well but it's a couch it's um it's a massage couch massage massage couch this one looks too weird so i think i'll do scale it bring it down e to extrude that's the scale again and then here needs more detail shift the scale scale y bring it in and e to extrude l shift d to duplicate it scale set that's it and these two i'll do darker there we go and i don't still don't like the top of this one so i'll delete this delete faces f to do this one and then i'll do e to extrude s to scale e to extrude s to scale no i think i want to keep okay let's just bevel the edges then instead there we go ctrl r let's do three sections item set twice so we get the individual and then move those up there we go and then these i'm going to color differently this is the first green thing here we go maybe too bright that's it too bright still i should really have more desaturated greens there that will work i think and then here we've also got some inner workers on this thing again to make it more interesting control r look cut i to inset alt d to extrude long phase normals outer in altering in i think look better darker and then here right inset all the extra long face normals out for some reason on this one period individual origins has to scale these down control plus and slightly brighter that looks a bit high-tech so this is a high-tech couch and this can also emit light then i'd inset twice eat extrude and g to move it to blue since it's the high-tech couch and this power thing down here so it's a massage high-tech couch where you can lay here you get beamed up by this uh um power field and then you can look out here and pretend that you're uh somewhere else not so nice you should have some sort of a thing here that can come up up shift d e to extrude l let's move it over here e to extrude and you can actually do shift d e to extrude this one can somehow give you pleasure here as well small uh eat extrude oh no shift the skill so future entertainment system ctrl r e to extrude some scanner of some sort extrude on a protruding arm it's extruded here as well and again for the high-tech look little slant slant the edges somewhere here to get the light to shine slightly this one can also light up then i guess item set b to extrude and entertainment light is blue we'll see if we need some other color lights as well here still looking too empty when we know what to do when it looks too empty we can do ctrl r we'll do it twice scale zed period medium point scale set [Music] and here item set and s to scale and or i'll do all test the scale inwards here you can see the difference between s to scale if i do items at first s to scale see how it goes in there if i do alt s to scale it scales are a bit uniformly based on like inwards towards their own normals so make that darker so that could be a bit more interesting and still i still feel like these surfaces here are too too big so i think what i'm going to do still is eye to inset this one e to extrude that's the scale and same for down here eye to inset and b to extrude oh no no i to inset alt d to extrude long face normals and alt s okay i don't want to do that scale and scale well added the detail i think that was possibly enough now it's borderlining too detailed here and we still have some issues up here it's too empty should we have some old-school books here this is like the remnants this is what it is and it's high-teching that's why there's like a high-tech light there because it's uh techifying the books that's needed in the future to preserve the paper that's where it is [Music] so l to select scale x [Music] so we'll go for some different color stuff here well this is like the remnants of of the past oh i should actually have uh pages in them shouldn't they l like here's one thing you could do you can do control s to save and then you do control i to invert an h to hide all of that then you can work with this alone without the distraction i to inset alt e to extrude long phase normals and then ctrl plus here on the right side and then i'll go a little bit darker there ctrl minus and then we'll do like a light gray for paper so that's our gonna be our book then we can just use this alt h to unhide everything l to select the link there delete vertices l to select the link there again d shift d to duplicate it scale z [Music] and now i can just keep the color the brightness of the colors and move it on this one to colorize shift the no shift need to duplicate scale z move this one in different color book scale x not too worried about the proportions of the thicknesses of the covers and stuff purple book here's going to be a narrow book scale said g what color brownie or blue shift d duplicate scale it down [Music] rotate y it doesn't have that many books this is all that's left [Music] that's it that's all they add that's the only books that remain so instead here he's gonna have some storage scale x um here we're playing with some mad colors now no shift b duplicate scale shift b scale rotate oh it this one looks too plain so we'll do ctrl r ctrl r iten set alt s to scale make it darker bit more panel like there then we can bring it up here maybe as well okay i need one more loop cut i'm gonna try to see what this renders like now we've been creating this for one hour and 24 minutes just to add the details and some story so let's just see what this looks like in uh eb eve when we render it so i'll do f12 render it no i can't running we need a camera so we'll do shift a let's add a camera here we go g g and then i'll go to uh layout or something texture shadow cavity both why is it looking so dark too much shadow okay um anyway this is what i wanted to do here i wanted to bring this in and here i want to go i always forget the hotkey for this one but you can view camera active camera f12 there we go maybe i'll try i don't even know which rendering engine i got ev let's try cycles am i even on oh control s to save to make sure i'm using opt-x yeah graphics card f12 let's render so cycles does a lot better with the light than ev does it's got some lighting effects on bloom but cycle does it a lot more detailed of course that turned out pretty cool with the lights up there okay so the bloom is a little bit too strong still why can't i remember this every time i forget so i already got an hdr here increase the strength of the hdr thing there you go now it seems to be a little bit brighter but there's a few things i think i want to do i want to decrease the bloom increase the strength of the lights and then i need to uh have some lighting in here i think as well to make a little bit more interesting and this one should emit some light and something around there i think that computer screen is too bright as well and if i can even remember where i set up the bloom stuff let's see shading compositing glare and we should lower this so that's the size okay we can probably keep that emission strength though i think i want to increase to maybe eight f12 so it lights up a little bit more of the area [Music] i want to disable so it doesn't render that as a background [Music] there we go okay so i think uh the final touches then is so i'm going to add a little bit more lighting emission here here i'll do i to insert this one e to extrude then we'll get an emissive blue here there we go i think i'm going to do something here as well even though you can't see this one i'll do just to get the light out of here i to insert scale x scale y scale x again e to extrude this one and then we'll make this one as well like a blue one i think and i think we need something on this side as well to light it up so this one definitely cyan blue there and up here we can do this could also be like a light source so i'll do it in set e to extrude and keep the blues coming i think should we do lighting in here height inset scale y b to extrude and blue lighting i think i'll put one here as well to light this one up item set eat extrude and blue darker blue there it was too dark under here as well so i think i'll put like a lead strip here along the edges so for that to work i think i'll make this one a little bit wider shift select i to inset e to extrude and a bright blue there too i should bring some light we could actually make this one emit a bit of blue let's see how that works the rat cage this one's already meeting this one looks a bit boring item set scale z all the extra long phase normals and g let's see if this makes a difference should i have something more here all right and set b to extrude and blue let's try this f12 okay it looks a little bit too bland up here and i want to put some light on the outside here i think as well and then some down in the hole there i think that should uh cover the rests or it so down here let's put this one should we do a green light down here to make it distinctly different not sure yet we'll try or yellow orangey cozy it's down to sleeping quarters there it insets e to extrude and cozy quarters then out here i think i'll do some lights as well then so shift d to duplicate e to extrude e to extrude again scale z need to extrude scale z scale e to extrude and here i'll just do it and set it to extrude and we'll do like a light or yellow thing out there as well i don't know if i'm going to change those maybe i'm breaking up the color schemes too much shift the shift b shift d try that f12 i don't know if i should avoid the yellows actually and the greens maybe i should just go fully blue and magenta all the time yeah don't like the yellow down there anyway too many colors suddenly happened but we're gonna stick to like a blue colder color there and out here too it's cyberpunk remember maybe i should have some here so shift the scale y e to extrude l shift d shift f12 okay this green thing is putting me off that also has to go to a blue i guess heat extrude shift the shift d see get these blue too and i think it looked a little bit down here a bit too dark too items that need to extrude and i wonder what happens if i do like a really thin strip here too here high thinset bring it down all the extreme long face normals and here i'll just do like a dark still a miss this one looks a bit too plain still but never mind we'll try it so that's looking better sticking with the magenta and the science i think is a better way to go i don't know how many people are gonna say that the chair is hovering but yeah it is on electromagnets baby oh i think i need some light in there don't i let's try that one too easy to get carried away here but i think i want it to emit light from in here oh this is difficult okay i'll have to hide this alt h l l that remember the air cleaning machine here alt h l l l h voltage and i think i need to do the same for the quantum computer here this one was too bright i think it should go darker l l h and remember pink or magenta is quantum f2 f12 f12 am i doing 146. i think i'm beating the record now with the longest ever episode possibly oh that looked a bit cool in there with a glow i think and there i like that i should try it at least in orthographic too i think there we go f12 all right i don't know which one i prefer do i prefer which ones do you prefer the orthographic or the perspective one always difficult i always think that orthographic one looks uh non-realistic but for a good reason because it's not realistic but okay i hope you like this video put a little bit more detail into this one it'll be fun maybe in the future to the even more of a detailed one as well maybe i could do a whole bunch of these little uh mini rooms i like this cyberpunk theme i like the way you can play around with the lighting makes me want to do some like smelting places with iron and put some low poly figures in them and stuff so i'll have a play around with it i think hope you enjoyed this very long episode or a very detailed one at least and uh i hope to see you back next week for another thursday 10 minute modeling challenge video and if you liked the video give it a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already i'll see you in the next video bye for now [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] you
