good morning everyone it's uh about 4 45 in the morning right now so it's early uh today's a little bit of a different kind of flight uh and a bit of a different video uh it's gonna be a two crude operation uh down to tampa florida which is going to be super nice to get out of this freezing cold here in new york and get some warm weather uh but i'm gonna be uh in the right seat today so i have been demoted just for the flight though you'll know um we'll talk a little bit more once we do get inside the airplane uh on why i'm in the right seat today but we're waiting on one passenger the one and only citation dad citation kevin who's going to be in the left seat today is on his way so i'm just pre-flying the airplane right now getting it ready to go and uh it's looking great as usual so that's the plan it'll be about two and a half two hours and 45 minutes down to tampa and hopefully be a nice flight so we'll see everyone on board [Music] runway three four today some visual approach the full two crew exp experience today which is kind of different it's different for most of you majority of our flying is too crude that's why we're so silky spoofed together right kev oh it is we're going somewhere different than bermuda kev we are can you believe that what a surprise it is white lane is yeah we have kevin and myself have five bermuda trips in january or citation dad and but besides that's and today's a little different going down to tampa which is nice a nice change of pace don't have every frequency memorized good morning citation two romeo box trucks one five good year winter time it's that jet stream drops drops to the south so it's about two hours and 50 minutes to tampa which kind of sucks but we'll be at 43 000 feet service ceiling on this airplane is 45 thirteen then we're overlapping stop here you gotta go higher no i'm not going higher i won that dude no you did sometimes i'll play it in my head like when i'm flying single pilot and it's like it's seventy two have you maintained one seventeen okay so yeah so a couple things of note since we are flying to crew a little bit about we're both single pilot type right this is a single pilot airplane um so we both have that single pilot endorsement on our type rating however about 80 to 90 of all our flying is done to crew because when citation data is flying it is always two crew operation um i obviously have a lot of cj time almost about 900 to a thousand hours tj time kevin doesn't have as much cg time but he has what they call real jet time um and i'll probably get in trouble in the comments about that but anyway uh kevin flew i don't have to talk to you you can talk a little bit about what you've you've flown some real some real metal they all are real jets what did you tell me what did you tell me kev flying so kevin flew g550s and g4s but what did you say so [Music] i'm sorry thank you very much foxtrot forty-two forty-three um that we were talking about like hours and like how many hours you know i have in the cj and on just toe time and he says well say what you say gull stream hours no say it we don't need to continue the gulf stream no i i have to just because it it has bugged me to this day we messed around saying gulfstream hours 10 times 10 times what every other hour is so to count you have what like 500 000 hours then almost almost okay 18. um so kevin flew gulf streams and all that stuff and has managed huge flight departments obviously i'm just a slotation pilot with all that jazz but it's still a lot of fun doing contract work and different applying different cj's and hopefully at some one day flying other things and i have to make a correction to my previously okay go ahead hug cue that's what real jet pilot hud cue okay yeah i guess our visor whatever works yeah exactly it's very fortunate to be flying an airplane period and it's a blessing so especially when it's a good operation and you're around good people i think we can all started on youtube and it was really the first was with you with that one gopro for no audio mixing from ambient it was just audio pointing outside it was very basic content but it was yes but it was but it was fun and these used to always fall and we didn't know how to make how to set it up that's true yep um and i was i'd always yell at you being like kevin is it on is it not um so yeah so that's kind of how it started and then now it's progressed to gopro nines and sony fdr x3000 and all sorts of crazy stuff um so that's yeah that is that's how it started it's definitely changed quite a bit it sure has i think it was billy bishop i don't know i we also did do a lot of like a lot of instrument lessons and stuff too logan yeah 1454 boston center one three five point eight one three a long flight and headwind was like 100 knots all the way through so we're leaving the pack today which is very unlike us location so that's always a nice thing shout out to jack center for that but uh we've been asked to maintain 270 knots or better which we can do in this airplane compared to in the m2 we could not maintain and left to 3 000 directly petersburg any questions nope see minter set looks good to me we just got the latest eight cars papa when to come 10 miles went to comcast you're gonna be all right for the landing i hope so that's sporty okay uh 10 miles a few clouds at 23. scouted at 25 000 18 and 15 is the spread so got the defog on and we'll look good dude that taxi is going to suck hopefully they give us yeah so that they have one left and one right at tampa and one right closed right now which is a lot closer to the fbo so hopefully they'll give us a quick taxi there's one taxiway that leads to the fbo otherwise we have to go basically north of the airport on this sort of bridge routing and then down it's uh it could end up being almost a 20 minute taxi so hopefully we don't have to do that one thing to mention if you are on instagram uh i do have an cool we haven't got any funky looks yet walking into fbos or anywhere being like what the hell patches are those but underneath not yet did you see that did you see that video post 119 or point niner hopefully in the kind of q1 of 2021 that'll be exciting which is going to be that these paper checklists are going to be in the fmc's in our computer system which is cool and also be able to do visual approaches and overlay charts on the actual screens and stuff which will be kind of cool um so that's going to be uh going to be exciting so i know a lot of people always ask you know do you just have the paper charts or do you have it actually in the computer system itself so that should be coming shortly five thousand playstation foxtrot 63 i know i say this every time i sit in the right seat but there's definitely more roman collapsing there's a little bit yeah because i don't have the books behind it yeah what do you think three inches five sounds like that yeah not the roomiest up here no i think that's you know a big thing about a lot of private jets or small to mid-sized jets it's really meant for the passengers they want to give the most room in the passengers and the pilots can kind of deal with it up front right sure and they're meant for two three-hour flights right i think that's what really makes the three plus a unique airplane that it could do the two to three hour hops
