Did anyone notice how the laugh track slowly faded as the series went on?

[Music] by now I imagine that everybody who's of the speed on creepy online media is pretty well aware of the trend behind the lost episode story type you know the band footage of a kids TV show or movie or anything that you usually reserved for the 12 and under crowd Squidward's suicide suicide mouse about 15 other entries ripping off the first two by making another beloved cartoon character commit suicide we add a Denari purgatory theory the Rugrats imaginary babies theory and a giant pool of more terrible clones of its idea from people with no real imagination and a dire need to be validated on creepypasta wiki whenever I hear about the truth behind X Y & Z it's usually a painfully contrived bit of horror fan fiction about something from the Disney Channel or Nickelodeon why try putting in the effort by coming up with something new when you can hijack popular work and painted black telling people it got that way because you scrubbed off the surface layer of paint and found something evil underneath it scene reminders of this trend always makes me sit back for a moment and admire all these unique and original young writers with a creepypasta field obviously the life of my friend David King from midnight marinara a good creepypasta audio drama channel must be an act of endless suffering these days can make a good meal but stale ingredients in the kitchen has already burned through most of the fresh stuff I'll never ever pretend to be nice about this awful trend of graphing something from everybody's childhood poisoning it and then hoping for attention based on two seconds of work I will be nice about the one and only time I've seen it done right now and in such a way that it's worth praising for many reasons I'm talking about the unapologetically absurd and obscene lasagne cat the most recent Internet oddity to rise from its grave grab people by the throat and cause it's eventual downpour messages from viewers asking if I saw back when lasagna cat first appeared nine years ago there wasn't very much to it even if there was a lot of it a pretty astounding 27 vide was arrived on the same day January 14 2008 all running the same premise a date would appear for the day in original Garfield comic strip was published actors for Jon Arbuckle Garfield and Odie would act out the three panel strip retrieve original comic image to the sound funny laughter and then there would be okay well how how do I describe the true essence of lasagna cat how do you really describe what comes next in just one sentence I guess the short answer is that you don't sometimes odd other times kind of silly often psychedelic entwisted occasionally creepy you get all kinds of video remixes of the live-action version of the comic strip accompanied by popular music it was a music video basically based on the content of the strip and listed as part of an album lasagna can tributes to Jim Davis the only upload that breaks formula is 522 1980 which will be visiting later when we cross the bridge from the original meaning behind lasagna cap to what we've been given in the series return this project essentially works on two levels of meaning the first is rather obvious while the second becomes much easier to see in the new uploads which arrived on February 23rd 2017 after a bit of crowd warming exercises in the form of teaser trailers the best trailer uploaded was a video with a phone number for title which opened with Jon Arbuckle saying that it's been nine years and it's time for Garfield to show his face again he wants to know what it'll take for him to come back and he brings Jon over to telephone to provide the answer if you call the number during the month of February left a message giving your name in the amount of people you've had sex with lasagna cat would be revived Jon Arbuckle does does providing the number two and then ask Garfield why he wants his to be a thing the answer because he hates Mondays but also he's apparently a terminator and that's just went robots from the future really need to do if they want to kill Jon Keller spoilers for the next sequel no one's going to see I guess a few weeks later on February 23rd a whole new series of lasagna cat episodes appeared taking the same form they did nine years ago but this time with nature upgrades to camera equipment modern resources and an obvious budget to pull off creativity on a scale this big also they had a nice array of new music there's a bit of something in there for almost everybody we were also given two very different videos from the upgraded lasagna cat format an hour-long breakdown of a single comic strip by man whose entire life was transformed by that one comic strip and a four-hour 40-minute video with the results of the sex survey yeah they really did use what people sent in and for something that goes on for over four hours there are some real gems in there particularly at the end which is what Cosby was to absolutely decimate my Twitter notifications asking if I knew about this cell was Twitter right was there something worth investigating here just looking at the last 7 minutes of sex survey results alone yeah there absolutely was it's not the usual mystery cracking puzzle piece hunt for a story we often explore but what lasagna can't has done is a lesson for every creative person who's been inspired by more abstract pieces like the type of work we're familiar with from LEM city comedy now lasagna cat is not the work of wham City but you are not going to be surprised at all about who made it there are some industries do occult fatal farm who have worked on sketches for key and peele on Comedy Central and you guessed it Adult Swim programming including episodes for the infomercials block two in a row it seems that adults arms and former shalls' are certified showcase were seriously creative and secretly brilliant people before we start taking this upon for study I'd like to give credit to fatal for for making something so labor-intensive time-consuming and obviously financially heavy for what looks like almost no return at all by using so much mainstream music in their videos they can't gain ad revenue lasagna cat appears would be very much a labor of love for lasagna Ken as a webseries not Garfield as actually kind of the point of the project as I mentioned earlier this is a two-sided piece and the first sign is pretty clear back in 2008 lasagna cat could have easily been seen as just another video mean it was like YouTube boob under its own special branding presenting serious nonsense while also making fun of Garfield something slightly insane that mocks the source material that's where it started and that's how it continues in the second act you can see the first set of live-action scenes playing out the comic strip are meant to make fun of it from their appearance alone Garfield looks like he's melted Jon Arbuckle is a caricature and the entire thing looks like it was shown on a VHS camera the actors go through their motions bringing the whole thing to close with can't audience laughter the same thing you hear every 10 seconds in a sitcom that's desperately trying to convince you that it's funny and from the way the actors portray the characters and give their lines it's going across esta from flooding the only reason you might laugh at this is because it's so absurd and the act of mockery itself is funny once you get over any creeped out feelings you might have but the actual content of the comic strip itself not funny and the way they're hammering in the point is pretty genius when you see the strip after the fact who got the source material if you were having an argument with a person about whether or not it's funny after seeing only the comic strip they might say something like well it's on paper you laugh if it was acted out you've got to imagine it playing like on TV and that's what lasagna can is giving us they're willing to go as far as acting these things out to prove a point that it isn't funny or entertaining then in the music video portion they remix it to an absurd degree in the same way that people now do for memes all of the images from the PBS show author that have been taking way out of context and remix into some new content for example are just what lasagna cat is doing you also get this a lot when it comes to spongebob remember the caveman spongebob name from a while back that's up the internet on fire people were just taking that one image of Spongebob as a caveman and placing him everywhere and anywhere making last by remixing something stupid when the source material itself probably wasn't even funny in its own contacts something I discovered a while back in fact seems right on the pulse of what lasagna cats been doing all along Simpsons wave it's vaporwave which is an ironic subculture type of deal in itself but then remakes the portions of The Simpsons adding music and crazy visual effects to make something entertaining it's not creating anything new but just adding things in remix thing and then taking it into a new context to be funny thing about it now there are so many examples of this that I can cite and I know you're probably coming up with a lot right now as well lasagna cat is using our own modern internet culture to hammer in the point that while Garfield is this big huge intellectual property that's been around for years it's not funny and you would need to make a meme out of it to make Garfield relevant and entertaining al just look at these images of me and Jack from baptism on fire as Jon Arbuckle and Garfield neither of these were even made in connection to lasagna cat being brought up it's not Jon Arbuckle and Garfield you see as being funny that makes these pictures great it's the silliness of it being me and baptism on fire as those two old characters from a newspaper comic it's only relevant to remix in the same way that Arthur is only relevant now because of all the means you can make out of that show the idea of making fun of Garfield for being something unfunny that can only be entertaining through remakes goes deeper than the formula though in the video from the new scent 328 1992 we see a comic strip without Garfield getting Jon's legs tied the highness Johnna sarcastic calling Garfield mr. funny man the music video sequence following this is about a show Jon Arbuckle and mr. funny man forging new frontiers Jon goes on stage plays with his legs behind his head goes around a loop for way too long and bores the audience completely they leave them the show is over none of them smiling and we see a newspaper that declares funny man a smash head debut of mr. funny man deems a huge success it's exciting and fresh with creativity and originality that stuns audiences yeah they look really stunned alright meanwhile Louis theatre which showed mr. funny man might disappear after a string of flops so you can see evidence of industry failing which industry always likes to lie about while false press gets around about their latest offering making huge bold claims even though we know the truth speaking of huge bold claims let's get to one of our standout videos in the second act of lasagna cat and our long piece it opens exactly the same way as every other video comic publication date live-action portrayal too much audience applause and then then you get a man talking about the giant ramifications of that one single comic strip for nearly a full hour the idea took away from this video immediately comes from a tumor there's a man who is willing to sit there for an hour and tell you how this comic strip there's one single Garfield comic in three panels the pipe strip is a work of true modern art that speaks volumes on the level of Shakespeare and the Odyssey it is a modern war and peace a bigger achievement than to kill a mockingbird a product of a God among men Jim Davis this guy's entire life and spirituality was made overnight by a Garfield comic strip that might give you a lights mark it's the pipes drip that great hell now it's only worth that lights mark maybe and possibly a single chuckle but here's this man a preacher in the Church of Garfield as part of a series of tributes to the Jim Davis telling you the pipe strip was made because it's the greatest sign that God loves you and wants you to be happy the message is really clear no matter how much someone can sit there and tell you that Garfield is amazing a work of genius your feelings about the pipe strip will be the same as they were when you saw the live-action opening glorifying this thing this brand and the man who made it all Jim Davis is just totally overblown and ridiculous you're making a mountain out of an anthill it doesn't even qualify as being big enough to call a molehill this leads us right into the other side of the comic strip though the really dark twisted domain that absolutely classifies it as our favorite kind of territory trippy it's the Jim Davis that's what we see is the tunnel for this entire collection of videos right whenever remakes or something new plays after the comics or plantation by the actors it's called a tribute to Jim Davis and the man singing his praises for almost an hour is no different in the video 5:22 1980 we have a strip where Garfield is begging for some lasagna John tells Garfield he needs to lay off his pasta dependency Garfield has an addiction for self-satisfaction with something that tastes good that's the message from the strip keep that in mind what follows it's very different from the music video format that we always see instead we get a roll of quotes from a lot of reviews of the Garfield movie to the tune of the Jurassic Park theme you know what music this is it's from a video clip that's become a meme showing the moment the main character see living dinosaurs that theme music that portrays on inspiration a feeling of witnessing something truly amazing it's no accident it was ease for this video and you'll realize why in a moment the quotes we see are all backhanded compliments basically saying that the Garfield movie was trash but it was still edible trash it wasn't horribly offensive garbage Garfield the movie isn't a crime against nature but at the same time kids will watch anything after review quotes for Garfield the movie finish we get even more for the sequel a tale of two kitties here's my favorite from the bunch I find myself much more forgiving and able to lower my expectations to the point that this is at least launched a ball the reviews finish with quotes II can't even really count then calling in a guy from Amazon who seems to be a bit too young to be posting reviews and a review of the DVD quality from an eBay sale the video ends with a change in tone as Jim Davis emerges from the shadows want some pretty ominous music glaze why were these quotes chose out a lot of these reviews and why was the music that went along with them selected well you can ask yourself first with a tone of the full reviews and their final verdicts must have been if you want a hand here's the Rotten Tomatoes score for Garfield the movie and a gloriously low 15% approval the reviews are terrible the good quotes that were owned or leased the ones that weren't a red-hot jab in the eyewear cherry-picked as the silver lining to a very dark storm cloud the music playing that glorious oh my god look at this kind of song was an active scene only the sort of good in a sea of terrible criticism it's the emotion of somebody seeing only the silver lining and ignoring the entire storm cloud that it's attached to and who would it be that's running this little exercise an eagle lifting the man we were told to watch out for through the music Jim Davis creator of Garfield and finally with that established we can get to the moment you've all been waiting for everybody's favorite topic sex survey results the telephone sex survey results video is the showcase for both points of meaning in lisanna cat everything comes to a head here the first and most obvious point about sex survey results is the same one we've seen the entire time but now more direct for nearly the entire run of this video the same exact thing happens over and over again there's a knock at the door the character sitting down asks who is it they hear the name ask who it is again and then open the door to get a final response a punch line it's a knock-knock joke that actually isn't set to be funny or makes sense especially if you don't know why they're seeing a number everyone is also represented by a mannequin a blank slate person who are all in fact very similar until the day gets on and they start to look a little bit crazy this ties right into the video about mr. funny man where John is just going around in a loop the whole time thinking he's being funny and the audience has no reaction sex survey is doing the same thing just going around and around forever knock knock who's there so and so so and so who so and so look at me random number laugh track and then it becomes a comic strip in the newspaper just like Garfield we zoom out in the processor page and in the middle of that zoom we can catch a hen from the creators about what they're saying here the joke about the telephones game on the front isn't all that we can get from the newspaper in the article above the comic strip we have just enough camera focus to read she might have a point but ticket sales don't lie and neither does the one-hour set of new knock-knock only material comedian and then it breaks off knock-knock material for an hour would you actually buy a ticket to that and how about this article seen only once in about every three turns below the comic scientists discover time never ending looping construct it's not going to stop the silly unfunny knock-knock joke that just keeps getting printed in the same three panel layout isn't going to stop it's in a never-ending looping construct and Jon Arbuckle Garfield and Odie are stuck inside just as it has been in the beginning of Garfield and just as it continues to be now and now don't worry it gets worse it gets so much worse as anybody who's seen the last seven minutes of this knows and if you haven't seen the last seven minutes here's where we need to stop if you were under the legal age to see adult material in your country do not watch the ending of sex survey results in fact even if you're of legal age you still may not want to see it I'm going to cut all the things inside the ending I still can't believe having been pulled off of YouTube yet so you'll get a censored version but if you're of legal age and you don't mind seeing sex related organs and ways that are not sexy at all and vicious graphic detail go ahead and watch we and if you're ok with gore and ugly depictions of things that you would never ever want to see in real life go ahead and watch the end but if you're not ready to see something that horrible stick with me and I'll guide you through a censored version this is where lasagna cat hits that point of telling every suicide mouse type of creepypasta to pack up and go home because fatal farm just one when the characters in the video began answering the door it was right around 3:30 in the afternoon as the video goes on so does time in the Garfield house which you can see by the clock on the wall and the lighting by the time we hit the end it's just past 8 o'clock at night Jon Arbuckle answers the door to see Jon Arbuckle he repeats the same number that he gave him the telephone from the survey trailer to sexual partners inside the house John pauses he then laughs and says Jon Arbuckle zero and closes the door we move outside viewing the house where time is in a vacuum and our entire perspective of the series changes old Jon Arbuckle stands at the door is aid showing plainly in his face and air he looks at the window where orange can't lies as the cat gets up and hits away from the window John leaves and a voice clip can be heard from an interview with Jim Davis he says that he and Garfield are actually quite different he looks forward to Mondays and while Garfield is a pessimist Jim Davis is an optimist all Jon Arbuckle travels along the roads at night the voice of Jim Davis echoing out as his face appears along the walls of buildings Jim says that by being a cat Garfield has no age he's unaffected by time and even for all of his faults even feelings of very endearing and an animal across the road two mannequins walk one pushing the other along in a wheelchair both of them like you'd expect from mannequins or trim fit clean healthy-looking if they were people you'd expect them to have a decent history of sexual partners one looks at John who is cleanly scared a suitcase was placed down and John collects it and goes on the bus he opens the case revealing a taxidermy Garfield lined in one eye withered and long dead Jim Davis was wrong time took its toll on his creation Garfield grew old enough to begin losing his sight as many pets do and began to lose luster in his fur before dying John continues on after the bus station his shirt seems a bit dirty before but now it's gotten worse and it doesn't seem from his posture that he's holding the suitcase anymore that's just fine Garfield dead and preserved appears floating in the air ahead of him John stands for a moment before looking down and were transported to a new place standing on boulders in the desert John is seen exploring the area while Jim Davis can be overheard talking about his process and how he can wake up feeling like he's funny and write quite a few comic strips in a day and sometimes in a week he can read a full month's worth of comic strips he talks about visualizing Caulfield until he can literally see him in his head and up on a huge mass of rock we see a tribal man wearing only the colors of Garfield with paints and as John stares Jim Davis talks about how Garfield just writes his own material he sits watching Garfield through visualization and writes it all down just as John is doing with the travel Garfield begins running towards him across the rocks the tribal Garfield attacks in slow motion and fades just before landing a blow he reappears next to John whispering in his ear and the next moment he disappears on the spot leaving his clothes behind they drop to the ground revealing that dirt and worms have replaced John's body Garfield lifts up the worms for the sound of laughter holding them up like a trophy in the Sun the travel man screams and his face turns to that of a girl screaming in a bathroom stall and yes precisely what you suspect is happening is what's going on the woman gives birth into the toilet she gets up looking down at the mess and speaks in a foreign language thankfully Aviva in the comments of the video was able to translate the woman is speaking polish and she says this child is not mine this child is something from the darkness I give birth to a human curse I could ask for grace which I will not get my soul will be swallowed and vomited and swallowed again forever a sick joke but no one laughs she leaves the bathroom and we return to the stall where the fat orange cat from the house the real garfield stands on the toilet seat above the stillborn baby inside as soon as the cat leaves we can see much more clearly the babies wearing Jon Arbuckle's blue shirt at the very last moment it opens its eyes the baby is alive we hear Jim Davis say that humor is so subjective and he doesn't know if anybody truly knows what's funny the final frame is a screen of bright orange so what did that entire departure from sanity actually mean something that anybody else could actually piece together if they care to do a little bit of research on mr. Jim Davis the man who all of these videos are a tribute to flying on over to Wikipedia for a moment we find the following under the personal life section Jim Davis was born in Marion Indiana on July 2 8 1945 Davis grew up on a small farm in Fairmount Indiana with his father James William Jim Davis mother Anna Katherine Davis brother Dave and 25 cats Davis is childhood on a farm parallels the life of Garfield's owner Jon Arbuckle who was also raised on a farm with his parents and a brother John is a cartoonist who also celebrates his birthday on July 28th unlike The Bachelor Jon Arbuckle Davis has been married twice first to Carolyn Alta Cruz who was allergic to cats they have a son James Alexander Davis on July 16 mm they despaired his current wife chill and had two more children Ashley and Christopher would you look at that Jon Arbuckle is a cartoonist like Jim Davis his birthday is on July 28 like his creator Jim Davis he had the same childhood as Jim Davis he claimed to have a history of two sexual partners in the survey which is a parallel partners that we can confirm for Jim Davis who has been married twice and had children from both marriages are you thinking when I'm thinking I share home cell because I'm about to give you the smoking gun would you like to see the very first Garfield comic strip here you go hi there I'm Jon Arbuckle I'm a cartoonist and this is my cat Garfield and would you look at what kind of cartoonist he is a Sunday comic strip cartoonist this is the confession of guilt in the comic strip that we needed Jon Arbuckle is nothing more than Jim Davis's own self insert character every time you've seen Jon Arbuckle you've seen Jim Davis and in case you want more evidence I've got it remember the quote from earlier by Jim Davis when old Jon Arbuckle stood outside the house I'm an optimist whereas Garfield is a pessimist Jon Arbuckle is a very optimistic character for most of the comics history it's the defining trait he asses the foil - Garfield so they can play off each other in the writing you can even see the hint in the way Jon has spelled for his name he uses the much less common version that's three letters J oh and matching the amount to spell Jim Jim Davis and the version of ol Jon Arbuckle we keep seeing have a very similar appearance as well the image we keep getting in the videos for Jim Davis has him wearing a blue shirt and he and all Jon have a similar pattern of balding it appears there was a genuine attempt to get the actor to look like Jim Davis while keeping him as an older John and that's because Jim Davis and Jon Arbuckle are the same person so what does that mean for lasagna cat what does it mean for the end of sex survey and what does it mean for the sex survey itself the ending is a trip outside of the world of Garfield we've the realm of the comics Rev John Garfield and Odie don't age they are in a place where time is a never-ending looping construct and long sleeve blue polo shirts are back in style good thing too because that's literally the only thing that son wears for shirt Garfield as Jim Davis was heard saying it's ageless and while Garfield lives in that house so to watch John and Odie they are frozen in time gin however will age and has grown older surpassing Jon Arbuckle and his young stay back when he was written as a direct reflection of his creator and as Jim HS so does the brand of Garfield in the modern day where Garfield has had two movies that were beaten and spit on by critics and the properties now a meme the fat orange cat is a shadow of itself the body remains as a taxidermy trophy but it's not coming back to life Garfield isn't gone but he doesn't look nearly as good as we used to the medium he lives in has a permanent residence the newspaper is a dying institution and the Internet has moved on from the Garfield concept even if the three panel comic isn't dead yet despite all this Jim Davis can relive his old methods over and over again visualizing Garfield watching what he does and standing there thinking about it until it finally kills him Garfield will even in his dried up half blind state don't live Jim Davis Garfield never needed Jon Arbuckle anyway Jon Arbuckle was never as populist as stupid fat orange cat that was ever the pessimist and in the eyes of lasagna cat that's a feeling that just keeps eating away at the man now if there's one thing I absolutely despise about working on YouTube it's the feeling I've gotten twice before putting more than 40 hours into making a video that gets black globally or otherwise attacked by the extremely broken Content ID system in order to make sure this doesn't happen and I don't tell my viewers for a week about a new video that gets thrown in a black hole on upload night I have to do the same thing as a lot of other channels now and constantly check out material I'm not sure we'll survive by uploading footage as unlisted this is something that I do with the end of lasagna can because the mainstream music across all other videos present a major warning flag and lo and behold I got a hit for the ending of sex survey results two hits actually one of which was extremely interesting the first song is l'espace Tam's which plays when the tribal garfield rushes at John in slow motion the second song however is called the ego and plays over John's journey from the house to the bus having a song name the ego for the sequencing is very appropriate for what we're experiencing as old John faces reality we're witnessing a dark episode of introspection for a creator who wrote to success on a property that was a self-insert vehicle and if that's not bad enough the product became popular because of a different character who grew to overshadow the creator's own self-insert and the darkness of this cursor for worse is you keep low gain remember the quote from Jim Davis about how human failings become endearing when presented in an animal his statement comes with a hidden assertion about the opposite nobody likes failures in a human being and Jon Arbuckle the main human character of Garfield the Jim Davis answer is always seen in a state of ridicule or failure he is a man in his 30s living alone with a cannon dog working as a newspaper cartoonist trying to get dates and failing often only ever really able to keep guilt-tripping Garfield's vent into having dinner with them Jon Arbuckle is always presented as pathetic a man with many human failings Jon Arbuckle is not the kind of person who would answer the door and say to sexual partners and that's whether real jonatha chol the true identity without jim davis inside of him says Jon Arbuckle zero in the world of Garfield Jon Arbuckle is still forever in pursued playing his character being the pathetic cartoonist he was when Jim Davis made him whose only real friend is a cat that belittle Sam meanwhile Jim himself with his number of two looks in from the outside facing mortality and knowing there's just not any time left to race that score and this is really why it all came down to a sexual partner survey think for a moment about who would be conducting this type of thing if it wasn't a corporation study group or academic organization it would be a person who wants to see the numbers and the people around them to compare to feel good about themselves to stack up to scrub away any insecurities to satisfy a case of malnutrition in the ego someone like Jon Arbuckle would do this Jon Arbuckle the eternal bachelor only failing dreaming of the day he finally takes a woman home so we can rub it in the cat's face so he can rub it in Garfield's face the cat and we know who Jon Arbuckle has always been now look inside the brain of someone like this millions of dollars a worldwide known property but still only two partners just two women just two and sitting around knowing the property you built is only big because of a character who isn't you who's the one that usually gets the upper hand on the self-insert of you who was shown as pathetic belittled ever failing and in a property that you can only for hope is funny but you don't know if you succeeded and it's all just been overblown the whole time and you're always surrounded by it drowning in it forever revisiting the hopeless bachelor worried about his sex partner number knowing that it's you it's you it's been you all along and it's still you which is why even facing the possibility of having a heart attack or stroke and dying any day now it still choose away at your brain like a starving parasite no amount of money fame or recognition can ever satisfy why we tried anybody in that position absolutely nuts crazy enough to hold a survey stack up against others giant shut up the voice of Garfield in your head making jokes at your expense stupid fat Garfield who always has something mean to say and is still loved by everybody all Jon never forgets and the pretty sexually active mannequins that fill the world will never stop reminding him no amount of money can make all the bad movie reviews go away now announce sex surveys can fix a broken ego I think the music video for six 19 2002 illustrates the situation best its Garfield's birthday not John's for which there are / become excited have been chosen but Garfield's and he receives a cupcake with a stripper mouse inside the music video that follows the pics Garfield as a rich desirable bachelor dancing to him the glove by 50 cent with a super Mouse Jon Arbuckle is just a visitor at the party and he gets sick from alcohol we see him throwing up in the bathroom and his embarrassed when he's caught closing the door on the camera at the end of the video we get this image congratulations for your cat cartoon you can practically see the sarcasm dripping out of the message and despite how much quiet venomous web series has ritm Davis in the gothfield property it leaves us with a grin ugly message on its own way and it's no amount of making fun or punny the truth about Jon Arbuckle will fix things Garfield is going to continue after Jim Davis dies it will keep going and going and going in some form recycling the same failing humor playing the same static scenarios with the same unchanging characters as soon as one Jon Arbuckle dies another is born remember what the Polish girl said I gave birth to a human curse I can ask for grace which I will not get my soul will be swallowed and vomited and swallowed again forever a sick joke but no one laughs and in a toilet with its own car filled waiting on the seat a brand new Jon Arbuckle in a long line of articles awakens there will always be another Jon Arbuckle the cycle will go on but knock-knock joke will continue gonna feel this forever Garfield at least that's what I'm seeing out of this I could be as whacked down in my interpretation as the music videos for this web series but I call it like I see it do I honestly believe that Jim Davis is secretly suffering from a mental persecution of himself like the character of Pink Floyd in the movie adaptation of the wall I highly doubt it you can't suggest something like that unless you actually know the guy Jim Davis in all likelihood it is probably not staying awake every night hating himself for only for having two sexual partners and you can't just call it definitely only two based on marriages we don't know how many pieces of paper this cartoon has put his pencil on and it would be terribly rude of us to ask maybe there's a whole graphic novel in there that even Jon Arbuckle would be horrified to read it's a mystery do I believe that Jon Arbuckle is Jim Davis's own self insert character though yes 110 percent the evidence is clear as day as brennan obvious as Jon topicals blue shirt but while Jon may be just a costume for Jim mr. Davis seems to have no issue at all with making fun of himself he doesn't seem like the type of person who would actually really feel terribly upset Garfield surpassed the self-insert in popularity after all he made both of them and Garfield even if he isn't very funny still makes people feel good and what Jim Davis has achieved can't be taken away from him there are people out there who really do love Garfield and think that he's funny every creation that's had at least some genuine effort put in has its audience out there somewhere even if it's only 20% of the population exposed to that creation I don't think the guys behind fable farm wish Jim Davis or the Garfield property any real harm either lasagna cat is not actually a malicious project there's no grudge here that I can detect and I don't see anything done just for the pleasure of being sadistic fatal farm probably doesn't even think Jim Davis was going through the crisis I described but studying the parallels between ahem Jon Arbuckle and the whole garfield history probably gave him a brilliant concept to write about what I think they saw was an opportunity to make an art piece about a situation that would be wonderfully twisted and what came from their creativity reads to me as the story of an artist with broken silverstein screaming for help while mentally trapped in his own drawings it's not based on true events because Jim Davis would have to spill his guts to confirm add and that is not going to happen but it's inspired by genuine facts that suggests a very possible reality it's not the truth but it has hints of truth inside the concept behind sex survey results is wonderfully appealing the people with morbid taste and dark imaginations like us and apparently like fatal farm we love morbid tell us a story about a creative person losing their mind in their work and living through their own personal version of The Shining by Stanley Kubrick we'll sit down and watch that any day with a grin is why NAT Garfield's face and finally of one thing I am absolutely certain about this project cradle farm really seriously thinks that Garfield is hilariously unfunny it's so unfunny that it's actually funny in the same way that a movie can be so bad that it's good they just have to do this over-the-top absolutely crazy project to show the world while also giving us a reminder of how incredibly weird humor has become in the age of Internet humor really is so subjective as mr. Davis said I see a lot of lessons to take away from lasagna cats were creators who want to make a webseries but the main point I wanna preach here is this I've received more than a few questions from viewers asking if it's okay to go the way of say and round and make something derivative you know doing the exact thing I was investing at the start of this video the difference between being the ass clown who made Squidward's suicide and being Alex Hall critter Ben drowned can be seen with lasagne can if you're going to use an existing property that millions of people know about and for the love of God be as original unique creative intelligent and entertaining as possible don't just say oh guess what guys turns out the Powerpuff Girls were dead the whole time and professor was a necromancer please never ever do that don't even try to spin this whole infected goods kind of story out of something popular and just have that be creepy and hope it gets you views do something that means something that has a message that actually qualifies as art that says hey I can be just as creative and maybe even more creative than the property I'm standing on for my project if you're going to take somebody's perfectly made cake and turn it into a new dessert you had damn well better make something that's just as edible and has a different flavor fatal farm has just set the bar if you are seriously extremely attached to the idea of you know like taking the Looney Tunes and making some kind of insane lost episode where bugs literally dies kind of story you'd better have some kind of lasagna cat level of genius execution and writing the justify it otherwise he'll be just another suicide mouse or Rugrats fairy and none of us need any more of those originality is hard but the pain is worth it nothing in this world worth doing is ever easy don't ask how you can copy bent round ask how you can do something even better that was inspired by what the project did by the way if you guys want to see genuine and shocking examples of creators making things with obvious self-insert wish-fulfillment characters go check out my friend risers channel the web comic relief riser was actually my very first friend on youtube a day one supporter of night mind and i even show up in some of his videos if you want to see some real Jon Arbuckle Jim Davis insanity online reviewed and roasted by a seriously intelligent guy go check him out he also does a lot of Investigation work for his videos and provides a great time and I'd say that's it for now everybody we're not done with the madhouse you had plenty more fever dreams left a visit but it's to wrap up on this one major thanks to all of you for viewing and to all of my supporters on patreon who make my fever dreams come true stick around to the end of this video to see all of their names thanks for joining me in the doc again this evening once more I'm Nick Nocturne and like a twisted orange gonna be YouTube woken from his slumber I'll be seeing you again real soon sleep sides [Music] [Music] these are not be town
