I Watched X-Men: Days of Future Past in 0.25x Speed and Here's What I Found

[Music] hey everyone i'm the canadian lad and this time i watched x-men days of future past at 0.2 fabric speed and found 24 new details now i can guarantee you in this video you're gonna find details breakdown with the most famous scene from this movie aka quicksilver slow-mo scene i found a total of six new details just from this scene alone so let's begin in the first few seconds we can see wolverine's claws slicing through a water droplet this sets the tone for the amount of speed quicksilver is generating now we know how fast wolverine's claws come out which is almost instantaneously so to see it coming out at such a slow speed goes to show just how fast quick silver is then we can see while he runs across the walls he actually damages them due to the amount of force required for him to run across it and as the scene progresses the bullets traveling through the air leave water trails which over the course of a second or two we see created by drag catching the water along the surface of the bullet but once the bullet has passed we see it start to fall again the entire scene is a masterpiece and it's filled with details such as this one of which is this headline of the newspaper that was visible for less than a second now what's interesting here is this is a real headline at the time the us was at war with vietnam vietnam's president bantu was expected to make a truce with the us now quicksilver travels around the room in a counterclockwise direction adding momentum to every object he touches for instance when he first runs up behind the two officers who end up hitting each other you can see the silverware pulling along in his wake and then pulled again when it rotates behind them the same ripple effect can be seen in the entire room as he ran around it and notice at the end of the scene we see everything in the room clattered to the ground in the same counterclockwise direction so there goes my six details from this quicksilver slow-mo scene number 7 when logan meets beast aka hank mccoy for the first time they have a fight because beast isn't ready to accept the fact that somebody came from the future and during that fight beast throws a logan onto this table notice logan's weight is not enough to shatter the table because his skeleton is not adamantium yet number eight at the beginning of the film mystique shape-shifted into an army officer in the vietnam war base now we can clearly see major striker has large sweat stains on his uniform other officers have the wet stain too probably because of the warm climate inside this isolated tint however as mystique is wearing a disguise she doesn't have any stain number nine in this film the sentinels have the ability to absorb the powers of other mutants in the movie's opening we see this happening in real time when several of them mimic the powers of sunspot colossus and iceman in order to defeat them however we later see three sentinels mimic the powers of mutants that are never shown in the film the first is emma frost's diamond form she appeared in x-men first class but the sentinel's transformation is rather quick and could be confused with colossus or iceman's powers if not watched too carefully the second is rockslide who was in the original storyboards of the film despite never been cast the filmmakers still found a way to include the character the final one is lady deathstrike whose adamantium claws are used by the sentinel that kills sunspot these easter eggs were so well placed that i don't think any regular viewer would catch this but watching it in slow motion definitely helped me here number 10 quicksilver duct tapes a security guard in the elevator in order to disguise himself as one of the guards notice in the slo-mo scene the duct tape he used to take the security guard to the wall can be seen attached to his belt and it's almost depleted i mean come on lads did you even think where did the duct tape go but they still made sure to put this continuity detail in the movie number 11 when logan goes back in time and meets beast aka hank mccoy for the first time he asks mccoy what happened to the xavier's institute to which mccoy asks logan if he's a parent and notice logan's unwillingness towards becoming a parent are you a parent sure so hope not although in a different timeline but in the movie logan we do see him having a hard time accepting he has a daughter number 12 when dr trask finds out a mutant aka mystique is impersonating a vietnamese officer the us army pulls their guns but dr trask orders not to shoot but notice what he says here i no don't shoot it he says don't shoot it he didn't say don't shoot him or her it happened again towards the end of the film no no no no don't kill it i need it alive the simple bit of dialogue shows just how much he despised their mutants you really hate mutants doctor don't you number 13 logan spends several minutes submerged in water off-screen i mean we do see him but for the most part he was off screen imagine if he had bessie's shoes at this point one last thing to worry about eh anyway notice when he was shown again for the last time his fingers are pruned up this makes sense though as pruney fingers have nothing to do with healing supposedly your fingers get pruney to help you get more grip if you have fallen into a pool of water and can get out because you can't grip a slipper surface this will basically help you get a better grip so your body isn't being damaged or waterlogged it's supposedly an advantage now a fun fact in the comics wolverine is fearful of large bodies of water because he doesn't know how long it will take him to die while drowning as well as being unable to swim due to the weight of the adamantium the fact that hugh jackman got pruney fingers for real indicates he had to remain in the water for quite some time to shoot this scene number 14 the wheels on young professor xavier's wheelchair have the letter x in them number 15 when logan wakes up in the past the girl he wakes up next to calls him jimmy instead of logan slept with him many times but this is due to the fact that he hadn't lost his memory from the adamantium bullet yet his real name is james howlett number 16 at the beginning as the mutants and humans merge down the corridor a quick glimpse is shown of an older quick silver from behind he's directly in the center of the frame with the same hairstyle and hat his younger self has in the movie number 17 when in disguise as a kernel mystique opens a file from trask industries that has its address at 66 000 caliber circle though not a real place caliban is the name of a mutant that appears in logan and x-men apocalypse number 18 young professor xavier was sitting in his plane rubbing his leg because the more power he uses the more damage it causes to his legs now notice the reflection on the table resembles his older self number 19 the name dr trask is an anagram of stark aka iron man both of them make weapons in the marvel universe an anagram is a word or phrase that's formed by rearranging the letters of another word or phrase so if you rearrange the name stark you could have trask number 20. after watching this film in slow motion something hit me by the story that i didn't notice before if you think about it peter dinklage was the perfect casting as dr trask with him the character now has dwarfism so he already needs assistance to even do the basic activity of a human traffick is quite sensitive about that aspect of himself so this could have ignited his hatred towards the mutants who can do more than humans now after some research i found that the director casted him for this wall for the exact reason but i love the fact that the size of the character is never brought up nor made into an ironic joke number 21 when dr trask warns the president about mystique he says she can transform into a general a secret serviceman or even you mr president she can transform into anyone a general a secret serviceman even you mr president and throughout the movie she changes into each of those characters in the exact same order number 22 hank mccoy thinks that in the future mutants will always die and they can never change the future there's a theory in quantum physics that time is immutable it's like a river you can throw a pebble into it create a ripple but the current always corrects itself even though they did succeed and save mutants in this film but in a different timeline in the movie logan mutants are once again near extinct number 23 after logan comes back to the present time and encounters jean grey cyclops grabs his wrist as he reaches for gene but notice hugh jackman has his middle finger half extended from his fist as if to say [ __ ] you who are you to stop me from touching her number 24 at the end of the film magneto embeds metal bars into wolverine to prevent him from moving and launches him into this river now wolverine's appearance of metal sticking out of his body is a reference to an event in the comics where magneto ripped the adamantium out of logan's body and that's it this would be my breakdown of x-men days of future past at 0.2
