I Survived 100 Days in a Minecraft Nuclear Winter... Here's What Happened

there was a bomb i'm the only man left alive and now a nuclear winter is coming nuclear winter is the predicted cooling and darkening of the earth following a nuclear war basically what happens is fine particles get put up into the atmosphere block sunlight up so it gets darker and cooler for the first few days of this video the mobs are going to be pretty easy to survive but from the first day of one turn on the radiation from the nuclear strike will cause the mobs to get stronger and stronger until finally they'll mutate into massive mutant beasts this is also hardcore so if i die i die for good in this video i only have one goal survive 100 days in this minecraft nuclear winter oh man day one i spawned in front of what looks like a gas station i assumed it survived the initial blast so i took a look inside potato chips after riding the gas station i got some wood and made some basic tools after that i found another structure this time it looked like it was a library i took out the spider spawner inside and then upstairs i found this see what's in this chest oh okay this totem was really gonna help me survive these 100 days after that i spotted a city in the distance i looked around but there were no signs of life oh oh that is uh that's not a good sign there okay at this point it was getting pretty late so i found an abandoned store and stayed the night there i also took some iron from the floor and made some tools the next day i made a run for it okay all right i walked for a while and found a road i also gathered some wood from the nearby trees oh it's a hospital okay oh okay we've got some medicine all right um oh okay don't mind if i do the rest of the hospital is empty so i soon left after after that i walked for a bit longer and came across a village what was this nightfall was coming so i camped out in an empty building for the night hey buddy oh man this guy looks like he knows what he's doing oh okay all right yeah a zombie used up my totem the next morning i had a slight problem how are we gonna deal with that okay oh i am not good at speed bridging all right i searched the entire village but there was nothing of value i then just continued walking down the road i raided another building and then i found a tall building in the middle of a forest i set up supplies inside and then gathered more materials i then realized torches didn't work this was going to be a long 100 days what can i why can't i oh you oh you gotta be kidding me man come on on day four i set out straight away to gather glowstone since torches didn't work i plan to light up my base with this stuff i also worked on creating a mine from the dirt i got from mining i created a farm on the second floor of my base on day five i cleared out some bushes and trees in front of my base i really wanted to see if any mobs were coming day six i cleared out even more space in front of my base then i went off to get more glowstone it started raining on the way back so i worked more on the mine on day 7 i found a cave and got some mores i killed some mobs and got some lava i was going to need a lot of it for a trap i was planning i also made a bed and finally slept the night oh thank god okay on day 8 i went out and destroyed this thing i wasn't really sure what it is but it probably wasn't important day 9 was a construction day i filled in some holes around my base i also cleared out some small shrubs and bushes i tried to make it as flat as possible so i could see all the mobs at night time [Music] day 10 i cleared more trees around my base i also made some iron armor day 11 pretty good day i started a trench i wanted it to surround my base so i could be as safe as possible honestly i was making pretty good progress unfortunately i found a witch and almost died three times again day 12 i worked on the trench some more i also finally killed the witch okay we gotta go back inside right now on day 13 i expanded the trench i also figured out how food worked we gotta figure out our farming situation here clearly some fruit grows at some times of the year and potatoes and the other things i planted are not growing what oh god you've got to be kidding me oh my gosh why oh why can't i just make normal bread oh my gosh after that i set up a farm with the correct plants day 14 i finished up the farm there we go yeah now this should start growing yeah it's already grown all right there we go good good good good good i also got some bridges up above the trench look at that beauty now i just need a few more of those on each side there we go day 15 i got some fences up around the perimeter i also made an airlock style door system on day 16 i found this what the heck oh my god that's ice uh guys guys the water's literally freezing no no no no no no no no no no no no no no okay all right guys this is this is this is ice this oh my god i did not know winter would come so fast okay all right we have to prepare right now i tried to gather as much food as i could because the winter was going to be very long also for some reason i got some pigs come here pigs actually let's try to get more all right come on in there we go come on you too come on unfortunately though since it was winter none of my food was growing on day 17 i cleared out the perimeter and finished the fence oh this is so dangerous it's nighttime then i noticed this is it literally snowing outside okay winter is here okay that is not good on day 18 i had a visitor now this is why we have the security system yeah no one allowed in here after that i dug out the trench more i really wanted this to be deep on day 19 i worked on the trench again [Music] on day 20 i finished the trench and chopped down some trees what are you doing out there hey little guy i don't know where he came from but uh it's not good then i had my first blood man what the heck is a blood moon i went inside and tried to sleep but i couldn't what does that mean i also noticed this wow there's so many mobs there's a lot of mobs out there what the heck why are they all coming towards my base why are there so many oh not spider proof not spider proof okay and of course of course this one of course it's no one right this was my first of many blood moons blood moon spent i couldn't sleep and there were way more mobs that spawned i just decided to wait out the night my god day 21 i ventured outside killed some mobs and then started work on a trap i was planning on day 22 i put trap doors around the outside of the trench so mobs would fall in and then i placed lava on the inside of the trench on day 23 i poured more lava then i started work on a basement so i could see the mobs that fell in the pit on day 24 i added more lava and worked on the basement the first thing i did on day 25 was get some food from the plants i found around my base i also got some more glowstone from the nearby store on day 25 i had big ambitions i went out adventuring i got some glowstone and then this happened oh my gosh to make matters worse when i got home i had another blood moon oh come on not another blood moon it was actually all right though and i spent the night working on the basement the lava trench i made was also working so that made things a whole lot safer it's working on day 27 i worked on the basement i really wanted to make sure no mobs would spawn so i pretty much lit up the entire area on day 28 i chopped down more trees i also got some steel bars from a nearby broken down building then i secured the basement so skeletons couldn't shoot me as they burned in the pit on day 29 i finished up the trap then i decided this why is this building so tall like we don't we don't need all that height you know we could probably use those resources for for better things so i think i'm gonna i think i'm gonna tear all that down to be honest on day 30 i noticed the mobs were getting larger whoa i didn't really think much of it and kept dismantling the top floors of my base on day 31 i pretty much did the same thing that's not bad i think maybe taking it down another story or two and then it'll be good and then we can build maybe some protection around the rest of the base here on day 32 i took down a few more stories of the building on day 33 i started progress on some watchtowers i wanted to make around my base oh no not another blood moon come on that night i stayed inside and crafted some materials look at these guys they're all just falling in on day 34 i killed most of the blood moon mobs oh boy i got all these guys okay everyone's trying to kill me that's lovely oh god oh no oh ah that's scary after that i worked on the first watch tower some more then i almost died oh what the heck man that is so stupid on day 35 i finished the first watchtower on day 36 i set up a second watchtower okay not a bad little setup if i do say so myself um yeah no on day 37 i made quick work of the last two watchtowers i don't think that looks that bad to be honest but um we're gonna have to figure out a way to deal with all those spiders then i got some iron for my next plan on day 38 i started setting up a fence around the base oh a little feisty tonight okay hopefully this will help keep the spiders out on day 39 i got a large chunk of defense finished i was starting to feel a lot safer because the fence kept out the mobs [Music] on day 40 i continued working on the fence i also added some iron trap doors on the top that way when night time came spiders couldn't climb over the top oh that's so awesome the spiders get stuck on the top oh that is so awesome on day 41 i continue working on the fence then i realized i needed some more iron i went and gathered some from the structure nearby then i finish the fence honestly you know what i'm pretty happy with the way this turned out day 42 i spent most of the day making small openings in the fence so small groups of zombies could come in i should in theory just come run again and then fall into the waba day 43 i spent the morning chopping down trees then i found another one of these structures oh is this one of those oh no way okay hang on and oh yes oh this just made my day look at that another totem that is awesome nice okay i'm keeping that there um that's pretty sick actually that is pretty sick to tell you the truth keeping the totem on me was one of the best decisions i made this video i then built more openings in the fence around the base we've basically got these like openings now on um on every side of the base so now so now the zombies are gonna just go in through there and right down into the lava look at that the next day i decided to add some last resort fences around the lava trench the only reason i did this was because i was scared i'd be knocked into the lava the rest of the day was spent chopping down trees on day 45 i added some doors around my base that way i'd be able to get in and out easily i also set up some glowstone to prevent mob spawning on day 46 i set up a base on my roof it didn't really serve a purpose but i just thought it was pretty cool after that i went out and gathered a few resources i also noticed the mobs were getting really big oh not another oh okay all right i guess we're gonna see how our uh how our defenses work oh my gosh dude there's so many oh my gosh yeah i thought this was a lot just these guys that's like enough spiders to count on both hands just wait until i saw what was in store for me the next day i went to go kill some mobs and then this happened oh no we've got a breach oh boy oh no they're all coming inside oh no okay we gotta close that right now okay oh okay we're good we're good i spent the entire day recovering from that blood moon and you know what a second blood moon happened [Music] another blood moon what the heck that night though i played it safe and stayed inside the next day i made the decision to dismantle more of my tower i wanted to be able to use the concrete in other areas of my base and right now the extra floors on my base weren't even doing anything day 49 i worked through the day getting more concrete for the building the weather cleared up in the evening so i enjoyed the warm sun and the radiation [Music] i think they've i think they're even bigger now that is scary day 50 i had a problem the mobs were larger than the door i made i spent more time redesigning the trap to accommodate for the larger mobs i also chopped down a few more trees because i was running low on wood i also lit up the base more so mobs couldn't spawn inside the fence day 51 i set out to get books from the library structure i found nearby i pretty much spent the entire day chopping down bookshelves my pickaxe broke so i mined the rest by hand look at all these books look at that look at all those books we are running low on iron i think it's about time we uh we head down into the mines that night i mined more than i ever had so far i did a lot of exploring through day 52 but i really wanted to be extra careful i also ended up finding some diamonds hey only took me 52 days yes oh look at that beauty i ended up crafting a diamond pickaxe which i would soon lose later look at that beauty day 53 i headed back to the mines and got some obsidian look at that that's such a weird cave wow oh please i knew i should have gone for a cave swim and diamonds and diamonds i freaking love this cave little did i know this cave would be the reason i would never mind again in this clip i almost die feel free to skip ahead to this time if you want to skip to the next day though ow oh no oh no uh-oh oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh my god oh my god this is not good this is not good at all oh frick oh frick no no no no no no no no no no okay oh my god oh my god should i make a run for it i don't know ouch oh oh oh oh god oh god no no no no please please please please please please please please please please please please thank you we need to get out of this cave right now like right now oh there's two skeletons up there oh i keep friggin dying okay well here's what we're doing we're going to oh is there oh there's air up here oh there's air up here oh my god i literally jumped oh dude oh my god dude i am never mining ever again never going mining ever again oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my god i used the diamonds i got in the cave to make a diamond sword there we go gorgeous look at that i then set up an enchanting table bookshelf oh whoops on day 54 i enchanted some tools can we uh smite does that i don't even think that's that bad i think smite like helps with zombies or something let's see which which one is this one first versatility that that that's his versatility that's um it's not versatility it's versatility oh my god on day 55 i upgraded my bow i also got rid of lava pit i had plans for something better i started working on my idea but a blood moon came oh no please oh this is the worst timing not having the lava in the trench man i couldn't defend myself i boarded up the entrances as fast as possible in hopes that mobs wouldn't get in i also got poisoned that night oh hey look there's a pig pretty cool huh i named him leek right after i recovered from the first blood moon i had another one are you kidding two in a row what the heck man that night i made a sacrifice to get a gun okay let's see if we can do this this is so risky ah yes on day 57 i killed a ton of mobs that were in the trench i then started work on the new trap i had planned i was planning to make a mob grinder by pushing the mobs down that fell in the trench on day 58 i worked on the mob grinder more since the water was flowing downhill i needed to clear out a lot of space day 59 i mined the entire day i really wanted to finish the trap before the days got harder day 60 i worked more on the mob grinder i put glowstone below the water so it wouldn't freeze in the cold conditions i also mined out more wall because the water ended up flowing pretty far the next day i cleared out even more stone so the water could flow down i pretty much cleared out stone the entire day the next day i did the same thing since i closed off the entrances to the base the models were piling up around the fence for now they couldn't hurt me day 63 was a little bit of a weird day i kept having issues with the mob grinder entrance because i needed to stop the water i also made an entrance to the mob grinder from my basement mobs also ended up gathering at the bottom of the water because they couldn't fit through the trapdoors after i fixed the entrance i ended up fixing a few other things on day 64. on day 65 i kind of realized i forgot to remove the concrete on my roof so i did that after that i realized i had a ton of extra concrete so i ended up converting the stone and dirt in my basement to concrete day 66 i did the same thing i just worked on making my basement look nicer on day 67 i finally finished the basement yeah none of that stupid stone or dirt this was concrete baby i also worked on the roof and watched the sunset sometimes i had to do things like that to keep me going on day 68 i realized the firms weren't growing so i destroyed them all i just realized i haven't really shown the mob grinder so here it is i also made the entrance and killing area look nicer hey day69 pretty good day the first thing i did was name all of my armor nice to celebrate the milestone to be completely honest this day was more of a celebration to be alive i didn't really end up doing much but i do remember that day fondly overall that day was just more of a celebration [Music] on day 70 i chopped down trees for most of the day you may be wondering if i did something more productive that day no i just chopped down trees the next day i realized mobs were getting stuck around my base so to help with the issue i made more entrances around my base so they could fall into the trap easier oh whoa that's a fast fighter after that i went down and upgraded the mob grinder again on day 72 i realized it was getting annoying having to jump over the fences all the time i ended up building a tunnel from my towers to my basement oh okay okay actually this is this is not the worst thing in the world i realized i could take advantage of the blood moon and grind mobs all night it's like a oh that's so stick we got stall day 73 i recovered from the blood moon and worked more on the tunnels i also used redstone torches for the tunnels because normal torches would burn out it also gave a kind of creepy look to the tunnel system i don't know why i took a screenshot there i never used that once anyways the next day i connected the tunnel with the main base i also made the place look a little bit better yeah yeah i think that looks pretty good i ended up making the underground tunnel look pretty cool too to tell you the truth the next few days are quite repetitive from day 75 to 79 i worked on the tunnels and had blood moon after blood [Music] moon [Music] oh my god oh my god they're breaking in they're breaking in they're breaking in what the heck on day 80 i had an unpleasant surprise creepers could now sense me through blocks and no one to blow up when things settled down i went outside i decided to forget about the mob grinder i needed to use lava to defend myself now i ended up placing lava buckets all around the base so mobs couldn't get in i also fixed up my armor and made sure i had decent tools i was gonna need them i needed more lava so i started making a tunnel to the lava pool down in the old mines oh my gosh day 81 i finished the tunnel to the lava pool and headed down at this point i didn't even care about the mob grinder i plan to fill the trench with lava again i also wanted the outside of the base to be covered in it yeah i feel a lot more protected now on day 82 i had big plans i decided to take inspiration from the oldest anarchy server in minecraft and build a lava cast i started by outlining the structure with dirt and then replacing it with lava this was probably going to take a while but in the end it was definitely worth it here i almost died because i got too cocky oh oh that could have been it right there the next day i noticed the mobs can now tower up more specifically the zombies come on come on oh what the heck what the heck after the traumatic experience i worked on the lava cast for the day look at that yeah i don't think any zombies are coming in through this day 85 i bridged out again i continued pouring lava around my base and ended up finishing that part oh my god i'm good at the game one slight issue is that i kept having to get more lava from the mines this wasn't major but it was kind of a waste of time day 86 i started pouring water to create more cobblestone this was not only easier than making a normal wall by hand but most importantly it was faster and more reliable relax that's gonna help keep us safe although it didn't look the nicest it kept me safe and kept me alive day 88 was a pretty good day until i discovered this what the heck no no no no no oh whoa what the heck oh my gosh oh my gosh they're getting in they're getting in they know how to dig now they know how to dig okay okay that's uh okay yeah turns out the mobs figured out how to dig i knew this would be an issue later if i didn't take care of it soon so i went full speed ahead on construction i ended up finishing the wall that night but spiders could still climb in eight days and not a single blood moon the next day i filled up my inventory with lava and started placing it on the wall oh my gosh this is awesome the lava would stop the spiders from climbing the wall because they just burn on the way up this actually made me feel pretty safe at the time i figured my base was ma proof actually that looks really cool this wall should keep us safe oh boy [Music] on day 90 i got some food by destroying some of the bushes i gathered earlier i really didn't want to starve these next 10 days like all overgrown that night i ended up getting rid of the cobblestone the mobs placed in the trench oh my gosh on day 91 i noticed mobs for getting in more oh my gosh what is that oh my gosh what the heck what the heck was that oh my gosh oh my gosh dude oh my gosh dude what the heck they made a tunnel on day 92 i filled in a large portion of the trench then on day 93 i finished filling in the trench after that i got more lava for the rest of the day on day 94 i put all the lava i gathered into the trench on day 95 i finished the lava pit and started working on a secondary wall first i needed to make room then i started placing the wall around the trench on day 96 i ended up finishing the wall days 97 and 98 were spent gathering lava and placing it on the side of the secondary wall on day 99 i finished the lava wall i also sorted my inventory and prepared for the worst okay okay let's do this let's do this okay i quickly got myself ready and got to the roof oh my gosh i just had the best thing to do was bridge up oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god i basically spent the night up in the tower waiting for day 100 and avoiding mobs dude what the heck man oh my gosh yeah i did it day 100 oh my gosh day 100 [Music] i did it i survived 100 days in a minecraft
