gathering around the sacred table that Jesus commandeered the disciples have brought him into a closed room he pulled out a loaf of bread lifted it up in front of all of them and said this is my body is broken for you would you remove that wafer from your receptacle lifted above your head I want you to break it right in your hand please that's what the enemy tried to do to you last month tried to crush you tried to tell you apart tried to leave you fractured but how many of you are grateful that God kept you together that while we were yet sinners he died for us to that end would you please you if you'll give your attention to the screen Pastor Chris Harris from Chicago Illinois gave an amazing testimony and I wanted to share with you if you give your attention to the screen god bless I put God to the test I said God listen I want you to make something specific heaven in a seven-day period I was trying God and challenging God in the next 90 days we're having our fundraiser and I'm excited because I believe that God is going to help us to raise the amount of money that we need but the seed was going to help the need and I decided to try God and put my faith to the test I want you to take a moment and look at this video clip so that you can know the proof is in the pudding I have learned that you can give your way into a new season and out of an old season tonight only because it's your 15th birthday I am going to sew into your church $1500 the reason I'm doing it is because in the next three months and need God to give me five hundred thousand [Music] right start timer I was just trying my own thing speaking things into existence and from the day that we went live seven days later God actually did what I asked him to do I am amazed and it came through on the seventh day and God still had more time he said listen Harris I beat your deadline and he exceeded my expectations I just want to remind you that second Corinthians chapter 9 verse eight says and God is able to make all grace abound toward you that you having all sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work the fundraiser is for his word and he provided what's this based on the seed connected to the need I am completely floored and I want to encourage you make sure that you continue to sow so that you can also read God is still in the financial miracle working business he did it for me and I just came to tell you that you are absolutely the next miracle recipient those of you that believe it come on and give God a cheer right there in Malachi chapter 3 God signs our permission slip and says tests me in this there's no other area where God grants us access to test him but in the area of our finances I saw Pastor Chris Harris's testimony in Chicago they needed $500,000 to secure building and within seven days God released it how many of you believe God over the next seven days for something amazing to have I can't hear you I said how many of you believe God that in the neck y'all don't need anything from God let me try it again in the next seven days God will do something amazing I want to challenge those of you who can hear my voice those of you your faith connects with my faith on today that this week we gonna test God that if God can do it in Chicago I believe he can do it in Atlanta that's the kind of faith I got how many you all have that kind of faith pushers are moving amongst you if you're Epson of an envelope it is our amazing opportunity to be able to give now but I want those of you who are gonna jump in this fire with your pastor there those of you that are gonna test God for something specific that you need over the next seven days I'm not talking generally anybody got a specific need you need a dress come on don't fool me me you may be seated I'm dealing with today at your mandate about forgiveness I want to a preach today using as a subject I can show you better than I can tell you would you look at the person beside you and tell them don't play with me look at me now I tell them I can show you better than I can tell you I can show you better than I can tell you my dear comrades it's amazing the Conservatives have been quick to congratulate Donald Trump for being the very first president to visit North Korea and meet with Kim jong-un the same conservatives were slow to lend applause when President Obama three years ago crossed into Hiroshima which is the Japanese city that the US destroyed with a nuclear bomb in 1945 estimates suggest that over a hundred and fifty thousand people were annihilated when the toxins hit the surface and even with that historic trip 70 years later disturbingly but not surprisingly there came no apology political scientists argue that the strike was justifiable as it was to them the quickest way to end World War two the earth's largest conflict Jennifer Lind a professor from Dartmouth University Shen's said a different vantage point from her book entitled sorry states apologies in international politics she argues for rightly that apologizing simply isn't something that the United States practices history has ample evidence of this fact during the Vietnam War this nation sprayed about 12 million gallons of herbicides Agent Orange which corrupted crops and incapacitated about 1 million citizens and this humble estimate comes from the Red Cross even after Congress has earmarked 100 million for aftercare it still came with no apology just because somebody pays you doesn't mean they respect you even closer to home was the Congressional empty apology extended to African Americans in 2009 for the atrocities inflicted by the slave trade the deception was that it was worded in such a way so that it could not be used as a legal springboard for reparations you have to be on alert for those who want to apologize but not take accountability it shouldn't be that hard to apologize but it is dumbfounding how hard it is for many people to take ownership accountability and responsibility for the things they know that they have done wrong frontrunner Democratic candidate Joe Biden in 1990 introduced the Violence Against Women Act but still hasn't apologized to Anita Hill or the other women who said that he touched them inappropriately Harriet Lerner the author of why won't you apologize suggests that being male makes you an under apologizer and being female makes you an over apologizer research dictates that women apologize more because they believe they've done more wrong and men don't apologize generally because they really are not convinced they did anything wrong if men under apologized and women over apologized it helps us to connect the dots that the church which is the Bride of Christ in both the Old Testament and the New Testament the church is always regarded in the feminine form and regrettably the 21st century church / apologizes for our position we keep apologizing because we don't want anybody's feelings hurt and the church always apologizes in hopes of acceptance amazingly the gospel is engineered to offend it is to make comfortable people uncomfortable and the uncomfortable comfortable but the church keeps apologizing we apologize for how much time we spend in worship but you get excited with the game goes into overtime we apologize for how we express our edge elation and praise under God but in the car you want to turn your favorite song all the way up in church you get an attitude and say I didn't feel nothing I didn't get nothing out of that worship today well good it wasn't for you all of the glory goes to God I got to tell you self-righteous Christians you better get ready cuz a whole lot of heterosexuals are going to hell and there's some homosexuals going to heaven y'all don't got mad right there the church is gonna have to stop apologizing because we've got a mandate and a standard of righteousness and holiness but we keep trying to ride the fence so that everybody can feel that they can stay where they are the sake and the aim of the gospel is they you can come as you are but you will not stay as you are and we're under a culture of niceness we have now hidden being rude as keeping it real our language is guttural in an attempt to keep it 100 we always in fact excuse manners and etiquette under the banner of evangelism but the church was the place where we learned how to speak publicly for the first time as in the dining room of the church were we learned appropriately how to hold a fork and a knife it was in the church that in Sunday school you learned how to read out loud y'all not saying nothing to me it was in the church that you figured out that while it was that you were regarded and disregarded as less than a human be a that in church was the only place that we could put on a suit a dress in a hat and feel some level of respectability but now you come in church and you don't know whether you in church or in the club because there is no differentiation of what do we do to present ourselves worthy of standing in the presence of our holy God I'm okay up with you coming with a hat on but more importantly I want to make sure your mind is on right it don't bother me if you got holes in your jeans I just want to make sure you don't have a hole in your heart it don't matter to me whether you got gold teeth I just want to know can you speak those things that are not as though they already are I am not offended if you got tattoos on your neck I just want to know if you got Jesus on the inside man looks at the outer appearance but it's God that looks at the heart we got to stop apologizing how you bring visitors and friends and neighbors the church and we in the middle of worshiping you'll come out of worship to poorer ass are you all right is this okay we usually don't scream like this at this point you got to make up in your mind that I am so devoted to God that I don't care who gets offended I am so committed to the work of Christ and I am so appreciative for the blood that if other folk got an attitude that is their problem and not my can I tell you something you really have not shouted good till somebody get mad you ought to be shouting until somebody sucks their teeth rolls their eyes and mutters under their breath it don't take all of that well it may not take all of that for you but you don't know what I've been through I gotta give God will you look down your roll and tell the people on your own I will not apologize I can't scream in Walmart I can't yell at Linux I can't dance on my job but when I get to my daddy's house when I think of the goodness of Jesus [Applause] the tickling point for many of us is figuring out what is wrong has become subjective in order to offer an apology you have to be willing to do an autopsy on your identity it's the ability to put to shame your former self so I can apologize for what it is that I've done why because I learned from it and it is no longer who it is that I am me apologizing extends that I am an extension of Jesus Christ because he knows how to forgive it's so hard today because we are wired I need you to hear me is hard for people to apologize because people have become so wired to be defensive we seek to explain rather than to understand people are really not listening to you anymore they're waiting for your pause so that they can interject their own opinion and their own analysis it is amazing that forgiveness oftimes that when I told you that I was gonna preach about forgiveness you immediately went into the lazy board chair of self-righteousness and assumed that I was talking about you forgiving somebody no but today God is calling you who do you need to apologize to I don't got quiet how we have co-opted a victim ization mentality and culture that we are so quick to talk about what other people have done to us but we never think about how it is that we mishandled other people I know you've been saved your whole life I know you wake up speaking in tongues I know your station is stuck on the gospel music station but there are those of us that when we do inspection of our behavior our language and our treatment there are some people and some situations we did not handle with christ-like maturity that we did not exercise our higher self that we did not model the grace that God has extended to us and you would yourself right yourself refused to apologize apologizing is difficult why because it comes with the possibility of rejection what if they don't accept my apology what if it spirals into a whole nother conversation what if it opened opens up Pandora's box I don't want to apologize why because it leaves me with vulnerability that cannot be cured making an apology I need you to hear me well making an apology night's meet Christian William Shakespeare said to thine own self be true second chronicles seven and fourteen says if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves pray seek my face here's the catch and turn from their wicked ways then I'll hear from heaven and I'll forgive their sins and out healed the land I want to call to you I've been with you now for six months and the Holy Spirit reminded me while I was praying meditating preparing and reflected that in six months I've called you to shout called you to give called you to sign up called you to volunteer but in six months I never called the church to repentance it's hard to repent because if you're gonna repeat repentance comes with a change of behavior you you gotta be different than where you were before the trespass I'm talking about your neighbor and even talking about your friend or your coworker when is the last you repented to God you you either choke down this communion swallow back the wine to back the wafer and now once did you remember if you confess your sins he's faithful and is just the clincher from all unrighteousness something is wrong with the maturity of the church that we shall only win we want something but we never plead because we have lost our fear of God every now and again you ought to be calling out under God why cuz he could have struck me dead he cannot waken me this mortar device every day we sin by thought by word and body and most of us only repent for deeds here it is we got caught in but God said I need to see will you repent for the font you have will you repent for the text messages you forward with will you repent for the porn you were watching will you repent for the adultery in your mind will fear God so come to church sit next I'll love us condoms in our purse cigarettes in our wallets weed in the glove compartment y'all ain't saying nothing to me you couldn't even give him undivided attention without updating your social media but God says I wanna see will you give me one minute to say God I'm not deserving of your grace but I'm thankful for your mercy I I don't deserve to be here beside you for looking beyond all of my faults and my plant halleluyah be seated I talking to you hallelujah we become a generation of vipers and backstabbers and political minions [Applause] I just need those of you who in this room who know if it wasn't for the cross I wouldn't be here come on repent repent repent for the stuff I fought for the stuff I said for the places I had no business something you can't repeat cuz you ain't ready to change but if you want to be a better person the last six months of the year that you were the first six months of the year I dare you to repent to lift up that hand if you ain't sinned this week don't say nothing if you haven't fallen short ain't talking to you if you ain't mr böck forget about it those of you like me that need the grace of God would you lift up that hand and open up your mouth I'm begging you to repair I want to be better I want to be different I want to be strong I want more discipline I need greater focus I repair you spare my life and I still don't eat right still not following what the doctor said I repair for being an emotional abuser for taking the stress of my job out on my household for stealing your tithe when you've been a blessing to me anybody can say they're sorry cuz nothing comes with it but when I repent that means I'm making a commitment to change when I repent is saying I forget those things which are behind and I brush towards the market a high calling be saved to be changed god I want to be better I want to live better I want to serve you better those of you who are thankful that God's grace extends to 2019 Holly wants you to give him worship if you know he accepts your repentance come on I can't hear nobody I said open up your mouth you cut off every emotional affair you are cutting off every toxic conversation I repaired you got a work husband but don't take care your real husband I repaired all the people I've talked about in my mind I repent for judging folk and I don't even know their story [Music] maybe seated high up I discovered a curious case a curious case in the biography of a man by the name of Jonah here's what I found out about Jonah he's like a lot of people who are in this room a lot of people who are watching online a lot of people who are viewing this podcast I want to tell you about Jonah in the first chapter the book that's named after him he gets a call to God and the call from God is to go preach in Nineveh and Jonah runs in opposite direction you got to forgive me you get may hear out birds in different places in this sanctuary because there are some specified areas of repentance that got to take place in this worship encounter today you got to repent I don't know where you are you got to repent when you know what you are called to do and you have not been functioning in your call what God has placed in you is not reflective or evident in your life Jonah said I don't want this assignment because the people don't like me I don't want this assignment because it's outside of my comfort ability I don't want this assignment you don't pay me will I don't want this assignment just gonna mess up my 5-year plan but God said you better get in order with your call before I take everything that you are connected to you gotta forgive me as some folk around you who are out of order who know before this year is over that they have got to be completely submitted to the call of God that is on their life if that's where you are I'm telling you I'm talking to you I'm talking to your neighbor you should have been left that job you should have ended that relationship you should have moved out of that house you should have titled that agreement so don't line up with where God is calling you so Jonah needed to repent and he never does it and Jonah chapter 1 verse number 3 he pays the price to get on the ship to be obedient was free to be disobedient cost him you just missed it God is saying to some of you I need you to repent for the mismanagement of the resources I gave you because if you are being compliant with your call you wouldn't be in the financial stress you in right now I'm cutting the holes in your pockets nobody told you to finance a grown man y'all done got quiet nobody told you to shoulder the false obligation of grown children you always saying nothing to me don't let nobody Harper guilt over you because you won't cosign that ain't your responsibility rap God spinning stuff you don't need with money you don't have to impress folk that you don't even like trying to keep up with the Joneses and they moved out of town I bless you you making more money than you've ever made in your life and got nothing to show for it when you were broke you would sow seed you will give first fruit you were tired but now that i elevate you now you an account he said maybe I gotta take you back to rock bottom just to get your attention I need you to repair Jonah gets on a ship going in the opposite direction of his call and the people on the ship have a meeting cuz the storm starts brewing that wasn't in the five-day weather forecast there was no indication that his storm on the Weather Channel this is before global warming they can't figure out where these winds and waves are coming from and the captain of the ship who is not even saved said - Jonah you need to pray you got a repair when unn covenant it people operate in a greater expectation of your mental thing you do y'all ain't saying nothing to me here something is wrong when people who don't even know God see the God in you and you try to hide and act like you regular you were never supposed to fit in you a bar under stand up never another day in my life will somebody have to tell me to pray nobody gotta call me in to affairs nobody gotta beg me to worship God why cuz I know him for myself hallelujah there 50 y'all in this room you O God worship why cuz you almost went postal on that job and the Holy Spirit gave you a piece that you didn't even know where it came from I'm talking to somebody that was Crone if God wasn't with you you would have kicked over desk you would have slept somebody in the next week but God said if you hold your peace I've been telling the chapter one I'm in verse number nine once they figure out Jonah is the one who caused the storm they throw him overboard as I was with you but ignore my call spending money I shouldn't have having other people forced me in the prayer but I'm lost on this one God said you need to repent hear me new birth you need to repent for letting people throw you out of what you should have left it just got quiet how you hurt how in the world are you hurt about who God never intended for you to be with God I can't hear nobody God said since you wouldn't cut it off I made them cut you off you you ought to be thankful for what I disrupted about now all of us had graduated from Sunday School we know that Jonah finds himself in the belly of a fish some suggest symport that it's a whale but the Bible says it's just a fish and he's sitting in the belly of this fish and it's the first time we hear Jonah pray and Jonah says Lord when I was in distress you answered me is that anybody's testimony let me try it again I said Lord when I was in distress you answered me here's what Jonah prayed I'm in verse number 2 when I thought I was gonna die you breathe life back into me I can't hear nobody hears yourself this is the Jamal shout when I know I messed up you still answered my prayer when I was doing the right thing you still respond you hurled me into the deep in the heart of the sea and the crack swirled around me hallelujah and if you read Jonah chapter 2 I read something that missed me I'll read it when you get home I found out when I read Jonah chapter 2 that Jonah never repented never apologize for being out of order going the wrong way spending money he didn't have being in relationship with people God never connected him to never repented but Jonah said Jamal don't you judge me too quick you read my prayer in Jonah chapter 2 turn the page and look at me and Jonah 3 I turned the page I looked at Jonah chapter 3 you ain't gonna believe what happened Jonah go straight to Nineveh guess I'm missing the point he said just tell new birth for me then I can show you better than I can tell you that even if I don't apologize look at my behavior and see if I won't follow what God it's done my grandmother used to say your actions speak louder than your words Lord I want to be a Christian in my heart I know we all sing them counting songs anymore I want to be more loving in in my heart God is saying I want new birth for you to know that I am creating your Christianity your faith and your discipleship not how you shout on Sunday but how you live Monday through Saturday allow your actions just speak louder than your words in it amazing then I will promising you that you will be millionaires that you'll be debt-free did you be booed up by Labor Day y'all be tending to church up but if the mandate for you is that for the rest of this year my lifestyle is gonna be evident that I am sold out for Jesus Christ if that's where you are and you are committing the God a change of behavior would you lift up that hand and open up your mouth I gotta change how my actions to speak louder than my words lift up that hand this ain't no shouting sermon is a convicting sermon transformation this ain't no turn to your neighbor I ain't talking to your neighbor I'm talking to you I don't want you giving nobody a high-five need you to lift that hand up God I want to be better pastor you got to pray for me I got a custom problem I'm good till I get mad what I needed to do something I'm I'm alright til I get stressed then I start reaching for alcohol I'm really strong til I get lonely then I go to somebody I know God doesn't have for me I didn't put too much investment in money than I have in the master and I want to change it's been only this energy all this money I'm making sure my outside looks good well my inside is rocky I gotta be better I need you to lift up that hand I'm gonna pray for you I'm praying even for those of you who are watching online God is saying give me your next six days what would I do with the next six months pot this Red Sea for me those of you who had this altar do this for me real quick poverty related causes she is here to help us a new birth prepare these meals in Kenya so that young people do not die unnecessarily give God some praise he's literally all over the world I'm blessed and grace to be able to work with him on two other occasions and excited about what we're doing today dr.
