How to Design a Realistic City Center in Cities Skylines! #TeaVille

hello everybody welcome back to the city skylines with me biffer lots of things to check out today hopefully their feelings gone well you are now watching in 4k if you have that ability very excited about getting that will run in we're gonna check out the new modern city center content creators pack I think I've got the name of that lights are made by Emmys are full of funk I can never pronounce his name you know who I mean I'll put a link to the description in the description below you can check that out and we're gonna do a lot of expanding as well so that is the plan for today yeah I've upgraded I've got myself a 27 inch 4k monitor for me the game that's glorious I'm a hoping that the whole process is going well and you can also get to see it in the beauty that is 4k if you have that option if not 10k will look even crisper of course it will look at that we're coming into the buildings here so yeah we've got this new content creators pack that I wanted to check out and we want to expand as well let's just zoom out a little bit from here we've finished following that truck alright just it's glorious okay so so what areas could we expand to let's buy a few squares I've nearly got a million dollars samolians credits whatever you want to call it let's just buy some squares around here so we can take a look I'm gonna take that one there as well at some point we'll go out onto this lovely Island but I'm thinking this area down here looks like a perfect place for a nice big city center style area I think we're gonna have to remove a lot of these trees that are in the middle here we're not going to sort of build with those what connections do we have well we've got the highway over here which we're certainly gonna have some sort of Junction coming or a road through here look we can get a nice little road coming through here and open up up into this section and they've got a railway line through here as well so we can certainly have some connection to that I think this is gonna be a very very nice area so let me just do a little tiny bit of planning and then I will be back with you oh and by the way we're back to our normal roundabout in this city no more magic roundabout from Swindon averages for testing purposes if you haven't seen that video yet check it out great fun doing that I'm just sort of virtually driving along here and just moving back any trees that are sort of overhanging a little bit too far we've got one or two and we go just move them back a little bit I think this would be nice wouldn't it so drive off the motorway and come down this road heading into what I'm hoping is gonna be our city centre haven't got it hooked up there yet but we will work on that and then I'm sure we're gonna end up with a roundabout in here yes talking around abouts thank you yeah everybody pointed out to me how I'm not that roundabout this one here I've done it wrong again sorry I took the trees off change it to this one got it wrong let's just make sure we get this one set up right there we go fantastic all sorted so yeah let's pop a roundabout in here there we go so we've got the two lanes coming on the two lanes going round we could a later date upgrade that to three lanes but we'll see how that goes you don't need to just yet so yeah we'll go with this okay so I'm thinking I'd like my sort of city centre to hug this sort of coast that's coming along here we're gonna go for this quadrants and see how we go so we need to sort of build up a shape in here and I want to build it around some landmarks and to really make it look really cool in the middle here what is this huge department store 150,000 we could afford that look at that okay we're gonna put our department store right here let's see if we can get it right up against there there we go and this is gonna bring in a lot of visitors look at that it's like I like this like a really old style building that is looking really nice and then I want a sort of a roundabout style arrangement going around it okay unfortunately it's gonna be a nice thick six Lane Road you know I've just realised actually if there's one here with bus lanes on and trees that would just solve the problem ah this one here but it's not one way I'm gonna have a look on the workshop but we'll go with this one for now it's the cardinal sin of roads in your city whacking down six lane roads but I'm going for the look so I think that'll work out okay and then we're just going to build around this as well [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so we've got like a rough road layout this one down here I don't think we're gonna be using this let's just get rid of that yeah there we go so I think we're gonna go with this for now we need to get this sent as a district so it's only gonna use our new modern building so what you do is you do a little district in like that and then you go to default style set this to modern city center so there we go so this is gonna all be high-density style buildings around here but we're not ready to plot them in yet we're gonna spend a little bit more money and turn that off so it's not costing us anything at the moment and we want to make this look nice we want to get some parks and things around here as well so what options do we have of course we've got the city center the zoo we've got the Nature Reserve I think maybe some pre-made parks in here a little bit of a little bit of design and will go a long way [Music] [Music] right let's see how this goes I'm gonna get some houses into that area there we're gonna get some nice big shops in that area there look I can't add anything into there that's weird okay I'll come back to that one and over here as well and they've got everything mainly and let's go actually we don't need any of those let's not put that in there and we're gonna put some offices in here to see what that looks like there we go so let's keep our eye on this as these grow and see what it looks like [Music] this is going well people are building and upgrading very quickly which is fantastic there we go liking the look of these buildings and we're getting a few offices that are coming in as well we want to get the commercial buildings in I think these are the ones that are going to really show us what the modern city center looks like so let's try and get some of their needs fulfilled over here too and then we're gonna hook up to the train line to help people come over this way so we're not getting inundated with too much traffic you know I've realized we haven't connected this up over here yeah but everybody can come down this way so it just means they're all coming through the main city yeah let's just get this set up as well so I might just try and do my own little junction here and let's see what we can do [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay there's probably a reason why I don't build my injunctions in your life but I don't think this one turned out too bad so we've got this main road that we've been using that goes underneath sinks underneath the highway then it splits off in both directions there which is good and then coming from here you can split off that way coming that way yeah we've got all our entrances and exits covered and I try to sort of build it going with the land that we've got so you know I haven't just sort of blanket deleted it all and plopped down a premade Junction we'll see how that one goes we'll see how that one goes no Lane management that's all there but it's fine but people are gonna start using that now for coming in which is what we want rather than coming through our main city so something we do need to look at here is we've got we've done some really bad things you've got junctions right next to junctions and these are the sort of things that I normally would avoid hmm so why have I done it on here let's take a look and see what we can do so first of all what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take our ad quality traffic signs here and I'm gonna make let's see we've got this oh I will turn this on if I let's turn that on I mean this is a roundabout so let's set this up first I don't think I can just hold shift and it will work it out no so anybody coming down onto here has to give way and you can just go through you can give Y you can give Y you can give Y and you can give way so now everybody coming round here you can just keep going now we're also going to use that thing and say you just go through you go through you go through and you go through so that keeps that center section moving and then what I want to do is anywhere where we've got these little side roads that come onto a main road is I don't want traffic lies there don't people stop in I just want them to go straight through so like that you would give way and you would just keep going through and these are one way by the way just to sort of keep things moving I've got one way going this way one way going that way and I've done that in different places as well so we'll have a look there we'll make that give Y coming along here we've got the same so you give way you all keep going and at the other end that one's okay you give way and then we don't have traffic lights they're doing no we don't so I've done absolutely no no Lane management or anything along here we're just going to do that keep you going so we may make some changes a bit later but if we just look at our traffic this is all okay this is all wool what's going on here you've all stopped oh I put traffic lights at the end that's what it was so let's change that say you do that you keep going you keep going and that will nicely clear up let's just speed things up they've got a lot of parked cars here as well but it's fine so they're going round they're coming down there to leave because that's sort of the quickest way out but give it a few minutes and that'll get a lot better excellent so I'm pleased the way that is we don't have any commercial need yet which is weird but we do need a load more offices or in dust industry industry so I'm gonna put in here I'm just wondering whether for this zone we could change our industry buildings we want this all to be really high big high buildings we could change it to IT cluster soon as I click on that some of these buildings are gonna disappear and have IT in there and round there and they will start building up into some really big huge buildings as that whoa look at that as they upgrade which is gonna be fantastic this mod wall look at that this modern area is gonna just look nice and then soon we're gonna start sort of wrapping around this river down here once we get to it good good good so if we keep taking care of these needs we will soon gets some commercial that want to move in so maybe we need to expand over here and have a nice big area where lots of people can live we've got some of our modern commercial buildings popping in here look at these I just think these are looking really really nice these are from our collectors pack content creators pack I like that they look nice I like the little awnings we've got under here as well I'm just in first-person mode checking these out Dana whoa hang on let's just get round here again yeah look at that they look really switched don't know they look really really swish let's hope we get some more coming in as well rounds hit or loads of IT buildings yes look at that we've got all sorts of needs now so let us continue down here and I want a load of shops all around in this area okay that is not looking too bad look at this area alright builds up so quick and here we have some more of these modern buildings along here looking absolutely fantastic fantastic just do a little bit more of the traffic management along here so let's just take a look at what we've got going on and we want them to give way coming on to the roundabout them to give Y give way there give way they're sort of make this a main road through here give way there there that should be fine yeah these little side ones there okay give way there yeah that should be good let's just check that out yeah not too bad getting a bit busy here we may change a little Junction or two but overall they should be fine so we're gonna start getting tourists into this area and the further this goes on we gonna get tourists for this one but we're gonna add some more toys and type things in here as well so we want to hook up to our train line I've got this handy train line that comes down here and I'm thinking of branching off into here and just having a little line coming in and out just for those that want to come and visit us have we unlocked the trains yet we need 9,500 people we are not quite there yet so I'll tell you why I am gonna grow this city as much as I can try we need another thousand one and a half thousand people and then we're gonna add our training [Music] [Music] okay so I want you just to build another area where we could just get a load of people in and because we need to hit our target to get the trains I'm desperate to get the trains going so I've hooked up another load over here a little Junction that's going down through here this also hooks up and now this hooks up through to here as well hopefully that will be okay and we'll see how that goes now just put some loads in here now I'll put a district in and I'm gonna make these houses here do we have them yes self-sufficient buildings we're gonna have that and we're also gonna have organic and local produce for any shops that we have in here this is gonna be slightly different now we've got this right up against the the see over here and it runs alongside the railway line that's what I'm thinking we're gonna go for some low houses here right along the front then we're gonna go for some high-density residential right behind it in this area here we've got a big need for all of this I'm gonna fill all of that in and this bit along here I'm just gonna put some small little industry so off its own that's what I mean just where the train line runs along now and then hopefully if we just put some small Commerce I'm gonna put it over this place here maybe not on that road yeah not quite sure how much actually we don't need it any commercial at the moment so I'll just pop that in there and let's see how that looks 1 2 that has all grown up [Music] alright that isn't too bad I love the look of these buildings these green buildings with although we hit a target or something no not yet with all the word and the DEET and in 4k to me this is just looking absolutely amazing hopefully it's looking amazing for you as well solar panels these lovely little house I imagine living here along by the river little waterfall to slow the water down look at that oh look at these are all tourists walking along here we can check these out if you see a load of people with the same colour jacket on I'm pretty sure they're all tourists stop yellow no you're not a tourist at all I was making it up oh look at that you can hear them all upgrading that is just what we want to hit we're gonna hit our target any second now which is absolutely fantastic 9500 we need we are so close yes City 9,500 people and now we get the train which is something that I really really wanted so we can get a train line which is running all the way through there we can have one coming from the city area bringing people up here but also to get our tourists in so this area at Pierce so let's just have a quick look where would be a good place to run a train line into okay so I'd like to put the train station in this area over here and use one of the multi platform end stations now we've got this multi platform which brings the lines in and out in both directions and then we have just a multi platform end station with just the lines that come straight in hmm what are we record I mean something like this we could have lines coming in and going out all over the place we can have a dedicated line coming in for the outside which I want to bring in over this way and then we could have this line join up to go through the city we could have another line coming down going all over the farms we could do all sorts of things but I'm wondering whether just this one would be okay for now and if I just one this road up here like that we could pop that against them there yeah there we go we're gonna have that set up like that we're gonna remove a load of these trees let all in the white there we go and then we're gonna run a line from there over to here now can i unlock fifteen thousand to unlock another square darn it um because I wanted to run the line off from here we might just have to connect it up down here for now and then later on tidy up yeah oh man we spent so much money just gonna do a little trick with our money here we are gonna whack all of these up to full run the game fast get a load of money coming in and then stop doing this as soon as people start leaving the city mm-hmm let's see how much money we can make very quickly there we go so we have our line joined up to there very bad Junction don't look at that eventually it's gonna go over here and be a nice big Junction and then on here we're gonna allow intercity train so that is gonna bring people in from outside of our city to come in here and enjoy all the lovely stuff that we've got and I don't want to join this road up there make another Junction but I want these people to be able to easily walk across from one side to the other so we are gonna give them a nice little walk-in path across there we'll put some trees around it make it look British you're not let's use this one here yeah let's use this one go away we use this one with trees around we got some nice trees to walk about let's move that a little bit near cool greens okay I can't salute now that'll be good so hopefully we'll start getting people coming in but oh man we've done so much in this video
