How to be a Pirate in STARFIELD

oh the life of a pirate in Starfield hanging out at the last Nova drinking swell listening to block metal and then when you get the urge go out and steal some ships all right here's our guy to the piracy in Starfield how to get missions how best to go about it really without getting bounties how to surprise enemies on their own ships without getting shot all that is going to be right here in this video and of course also at the very end of the video how to join the Crimson Fleet um I figured it's an assumption that you can join the Crimson Fleet because just like in Skyrim you can join the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood well here you can join the Crimson Fleet and for those of you who don't want spoilers I'll leave that till the end of the video all right so the best way to start pirating is of course being on the Crimson Fleet I recommend doing it with these missions right here on the mission board right outside the last Nova bar and what we'll do is we'll just take a basic piracy I like these um the piracy missions they're quick and easy dust the ship get credits of course you don't have to dust the ship you can also steal the ship I'm going to show you how to do both without getting any bounties or at least nothing significant in anyway let's see it's an e condo Hall carrying a bunch of broadcast stuff all right so we're going to take this and we're going to get back to our ship all right there's a couple of keys to doing piracy and Starfield oh there's our ship right there there's our pirate ship and I'll have the build for that ship coming in an upcoming video you can also see other Starfield ship builds that I've done in the playlist I'm linking right here but uh there's our ship now one thing you want to make sure of if you don't want so here's a tip there's going to be lots of tips throughout this one tip is if you don't want your crew hating you and leaving you because you're murdering people because murder kind of comes with the business of piracy um I have here just some random person I hired from a bar Pirates like to hang out in bars it's a good place to meet people like paid bounty hunters like Betty here actually I met her out in space she was already at Bounty Hunter so I left Sarah and all them back at constellation so when I'm doing pirate things I don't have to worry about getting disapproval from the companions so let's go hop in our ship now I've seen comments on Reddit from people who took missions from here and then they complained that they pay too little because they have to pay off bounties that come with them now the simple trick to getting around bounties so we're going to the FY system the trick to getting around bounties is simply don't leave Witnesses okay now this goes with any kind of piracy not just the missions that we're doing here but any kind of piracy if there's Witnesses you're going to get a bounty that or if you simply ask them to hand over their cargo I think this is the mistakes on people are making now of course if you kill the last witness it refunds whatever Bounty you got right well that also includes ships that may be around in the area if you kill one ship in plain view of another ship you're going to get a bounty and it's going to rack up fast so the reason you want to do the piracy missions from the Crimson Fleet is because they will send you into an isolated part of space where there are usually no other witnesses that is like that's another tip right there that's why I'm doing that that's why I'm doing these now to start this Mission this wants you to head any place in the Vol system so now that we're in the system we want to see where this is going to be at where it's located and we want to try travel to it it's right here don't travel to the planet travel to the UC eono Hall he's going to be isolated in his own part of space unless it's spawns a random encounter there in which case you just want to travel out and travel back that's how you get around that so if we find a random encounter travel out travel back so he's going to be the only one here now I'm going to show you two ways we can do this we can outright just dust the ship or we can steal it you can ask them to hand over their Hall you can convince them to hand over their Hall but the thing is if you do that they're going to report you and you're going to get a bounty because he left the living if you want to be a truly vicious pirate like the ones that hang around in the last Nova you don't leave any living Witnesses now this is showing okay so here we have a witness there's someone else in this little bubble of space for some reason so we're just going to travel out and travel back really quick I didn't think that was going to be the case but it gives me an opportunity to show this we just travel to Delta and then we'll travel back all right so taking the missions from the Crimson Fleet usually guarante easier in your own bubble space just as I said but of course because I'm recording a video they want to make it difficult so we're going to kill all the ships then that's just what we'll have to do we're just going to kill all the ships no hailing no warning just dust them all dust all the ships that's how we're doing this including of course our Quest ship now this is going to give us bounties I'll also show you how to check your Bounty and we'll make sure we don't have one we might get a small one he shouldn't last very long no he's dead and let's grab our Loot and make sure that no one witnessed it of course make sure you have enough room in your cargo hold to for the take now I'll see if there's any witnesses around here it looks like there was one other ship somewhere who's about to die no Witnesses actually here let's do something a little different let's actually do something a little different here we're going to steal his ship to fire up our em weapon and disable a ship and we're going to dock all right so here we can kill two birds with one stone and what I did there is simply just hit them a couple times to knock out most of their Shield lock on and use your em weapon on their engine I can put a more detailed video of that all right so here moving around the ship we'll see if this ship has ladders what you can do well first of all if the ship has ladders don't ever climb ladders in enemy ship use your jetpack and boost so there is that tip also shotguns are great for this wow those guys were a little yeah just kind of fire from the hit but whatever it did the trick and and yeah try to avoid ladders but if you have to use ladders um use your pack CU I've gotten stuck on a ladder before in an enemy ship and you don't want that is that everyone well apparently is also of course always travel one ship light never have more than nine ships in your inventory or else it won't let you get behind the controls of a ship this is how you move around enemy ships if you didn't know that or didn't think of that it's it took me a while to think about that you know it's like why am I climbing ladders when I can just boost yeah so you have a ship limit of 10 so always carry nine ships so just in case you find that really spicy little ship you can steal it now here's how you check your Bounty let's make sure we don't have any bounties which we may we just committed a lot of Carnage so right here we're in a Freestar Collective system if you look up in the upper right hand corner of the screen it says Freestar Collective there's no Bounty now the ship we destroyed was a UC ship uh so United Colonies just Mouse over like alha centari or something okay we have a bounty of 650 so we got a total Bounty of 650 we destroyed two ships and stole one and of course don't forget the goodies on board where's the captain's Locker in the cargo hold cargo hold some credits and resources and now we need to find the captain's Locker the captain's Locker has more good stuff always be sure to take those those things now let's see what kind of ship we got we have nine ships in our inventory so it will let us sit in this ship and let's have a look at what we get yeah 650 Bounty for yeah we make made a lot of money and once we return back to the Crimson Fleet we'll have the 5,000 from uh oh this is a interesting looking ship I haven't seen this one all right well let's go ahead it'll make it our home ship when we undock when we uh fast travel of course well not I don't fast travel I mean when we make a grab jump it'll make it our home ship but of course we can just get our pirate ship there back goodbye ship oh yeah so there's a view of our ship drifting off in the distance for now because we just yeah we just disabled this uh ship's engin so let's kind of let the engines come back online a bit whoa let's not running into our own ship here let the engines come back online and that's probably enough let's make the jump back to the Crimson Fleet now of course the Crimson Fleet is in the CCS system and even if you don't know how to join the Crimson Fleet that shouldn't be a surprise I uh I found their base pretty quick and I actually wondered before I knew you could join the Crimson Fleet I wondered what is this all about how do you get there well I'll explain that at the end of the video as I said I want to make sure I clear all the other topics before I get into spoilers because when I was looking to join the Crimson Fleet I promise you I didn't want to know how I wanted to figure it out on my own so as soon as we dock we look up in the upper right hand corner of the screen and we'll have our what 4,000 some credits 4,300 credits okay so now that we're back on the station right out here outside the last Nova right by the mission boards there is a self-service Bounty clearance so I showed you how you could check your Bounty by uh looking at the map at UC systems or Freestar Collective systems you can also check it of course here our only Bounty is measly 650 credits uh well did we pay a small service fee and that is wiped and I'd say that's pretty good for yeah utterly destroying two ships taking all the loot and then pirating a third and that includes all the murders if any of that is witnessed that would have been about 35,000 worth of bounty which I've had that happen before before I knew this that any ships in the area do count as Witnesses before I knew that I did something similar and before I knew it I had a 35,000 credit Bounty and I um I chose to do some time in jail for that now that actually leads me up to my tri my tips I figured if it was like other Bethesda games you know they would like contact me or something wow that person's checking us out I figured they might contact us or something if we uh stole enough ships or enough credits or committed murder but that wasn't happening so I kind of wandered around and I thought maybe I have to get caught for something well that's how you do it so anyway long story short what you want to do you want to get caught by the United Colonies the most efficient best way really just grab a very cheap piece of Contraband and smuggle it will just fly into a UC system like Alpha centuri just fly into Alpha centari carrying just a measly piece of uh Contraband you know don't put it in your shielded cargo nothing like that just get caught with it and they'll arrest you and when they arrest you they will offer you to work for them as an operative and Infiltrate The Crimson Fleet uh I chose to do that of course every chance I I get uh yeah I don't I don't want to be part of CIS def I want to be part of the Crimson Fleet so just become a bad guy yeah from there on yeah from there out just uh become a bad guy and that's how you join the Crimson Fleet this is the best place of course to get you get missions instead of just instead of just you know freelance pirating come here get missions get paid for for it and get your missions in one little isolated bubble of space and usually you don't have to worry about witnesses that time I did have to kill a couple of other ships but as you can see as long as you kill all the witnesses and then include ships of course it mostly wiped our Bounty and again of course uh let's see uh if you talk to them over the hail call and ask them to hand over their inventory I guarantee you they will report you that's why you don't leave him alive that's how to be a real pirate and Starfield guys thanks so much for watching I hope these tips were helpful I know a burn through a lot of tips really quick at some points in the video because I was thinking of them as they came and things were happening very fast when you're trying to take over ships command deer them or destroy them things tend to happen really fast but yeah some of the main tips I wanted to give were yeah boosting in ships yeah so avoid ladders use your jetpack it's easy to forget that you don't want to get caught on a ladder because you can't just drop off of ladders you will get you will get shot pretty quick clearing and ships I do prefer to use shotguns use a shotgun with a high rate of fire um don't mess around with those pirates they can really nail you fast coming around those corners and and uh that's about it oh yeah pick your crew up at plus it's more like pirate roleplay pick your crew up at bars pick up paid mercenaries it's more fun that way anyway uh I don't care what happens to her she doesn't care if I kill people it's great just don't take your don't take Sarah Morgan with you all right guys thanks so much for
