How I completed the hardest Mario Odyssey challenge

today we're doing a challenge where uh cappy kills mario if uh if he touches them but mario can't move without throwing cappy it's gonna be a real fun stream today we're halfway through the game we uh started it last week but craftyboss added an update for some quality of life improvements okay uh we're in day metro wait we have all the moons today metro we can leave oh god oh god okay cappy is chasing me it's on the odyssey all right let's go you expect him to actually have a knife he basically has a knife seaside snow sea okay everybody's saying seaside let's go to seaside first sounds good seaside kingdom a splendid idea let's go get some moons um and we can move good please get the moon okay we're fine i might be able to juke cappy here nope will it still okay wait i think it's stuck there this is good you think i can just wall jump up this without gappy oh god it got unstuck i might have to capture some stuff we'll see if i capture some stuff i can move around a little bit more safely uh but i feel like i feel like capturing stuff is almost a cop out you know why don't we just go under uh six feet under why don't we go six feet under wait what happens if he hits a flower oh he just murders faster go swim away see you idiot oh my god cappy moves so slow underwater is there anything that i can do without using cappy we can do this sub area i feel like this sub area will be a cool one because yeah i could leave cappy behind in this try and go through this i don't know where the platforms are i'm just gonna assume that oh frick don't die don't bonk you this saying recently that you know a lot of my motivation for anything in life these days is i've decided i want to be a super villain because here's the thing here's the thing i i have a theory you know superheroes don't exist why you don't need superheroes because there's no super villains so like there's that but also you know i'm small ant you know there's a reason why antagonists are called what they are antagonists hear that and i don't understand your question what are you asking what am i going to explain a miracle just happened i'm not going to question it you know what it was cappy heard that i was gonna become a super villain he's like let's team up you and me take over the planet anyways let's not squander this opportunity you can make it come on come on okay um so when you have two moons oh i have an idea there's an underwater section i could just get cappied in the water and now cappy is stuck and i can like temporarily jump out of water and then get back in and now cappy's still stuck oh this is so smart get back in the water no no no okay it wasn't a great plan okay we spawned the moon at least this is good you think it's possible i can get up there okay i'm just trying to get cabbie to go down a little bit ah oh god oh i made a mistake i don't think i can get the moon here i don't think i can get it i don't um screw you cappy i'm getting other moons okay this is gonna take a few deaths i believe but i i think it can be done no no no no oh no please this is brutal this is brutal you can make it you can make it jump up jump up i can make it to that moon i'm pretty sure i could fight rango because i i think in boss fights you take a damage instead of uh you take damage instead of dying go go go go go go go go go go yes we got a moon we just need to get to because almost certainly cappy is going to catch up to me and i'm going to need some hb we're going to bounce that boy back good i'm going to try and land on him now one two i'm just gonna let cappy the boss fight i have an idea but it's gonna be very difficult that's not a good start oh god last year you said this wouldn't be a problem well i was kind of just it wouldn't be a problem in that stream because you know i'll deal with the next stream this is going to be very difficult i think if i time it right i might be able to do the entire first phase okay that's a start okay we got through one third of the fight i have to do that three times with increasing difficulty get at least one pog is this what pain feels like that's something like yeah oh my god something like that nice finish this challenge i'll try man i need to start writing down like stories over the course of the weekend so many stories came to mind and i think to myself in the moment i should write that down that's an interesting thing to talk about and then i don't write it down and it's gone forever and i i honestly i don't even know what the topic okay we're dead i don't even know what it was i need to like carry around a notepad or something you could write on your phone's notepad app it takes too long takes too long to do it talk to your google assistant for the most basic [ __ ] tell her write down your stories then hey remind me to write down stories when i get the chance sorry for when whenever it happens sorry i still didn't get that you can tell me a day or time or even when you get to a place so when do you want to be reminded whenever it happens i couldn't create that reminder i guess we're never i'm never telling stories again how can i not read my mind why isn't google is the craziest part i almost survived that we are doing the challenge that has been the pain of my existence that has been all of my nightmares it's the cappy kills mario challenge and i'm gonna try and beat it today wait is this phase three oh god this is phase three i wasn't even paying attention oh i'm too far over i have no idea how this works now oh i missed it no think i can get back and get it meantime no shot that was close let's go it's done god finally you know i want to share something that craftyboss sent me this weekend he dm'd me and he was like uh hey do you want me to make a stage edit that adds a recovery bubble around the area so that cappy just hurts mario instead of kills him you know what i said nah i'ma [ __ ] beat it the hard way let's go beat the game now let's beat the rest of this thing on the bowser's kingdom all right here's what we can do here hide right here and then cappy boom easy crap there we go okay how do we do this easiest way to do this frick stop okay i guess i think kevin might only be able to hit these things once yeah cap you can only hit them once uh how do we do this then check this out yeah now that we're in the bird kathy can't get to us because we don't exist i'll just jump in this boat bam i bet i can get cappy trapped here probably not a way to do it though no no i went through the crotch i might be able to trap cappy underneath and that i can backflip on him okay wait this could work that counts though right that counts [Music] okay we got the moon to spawn that's good now we can die it's all good the moon should still be there battleship is a high skill ceiling hey don't make fun of me wait no if you die he comes back okay well if i can just get cappy to capture this we should be able to make it yeah cause now i can get my bearings again get this moon we're all good okay that guy was a little tricky a little bit of problem solving for him but it's all fine all right now we have a tough boss fight against topper but yeah with this boss here cappy is very fast yeah we're dead we have to do moon cave i think we have to do moon cave okay that was super good that was super good okay well there you go we did it topper down all right let's go die in this last fight because there's literally no chance that we could win on the first try is this boss fight even possible because you need to reflect her shots back is there a life apart here oh i had no idea there was one there okay we only took one damage for that phase that's good we'll just wait here now okay i think we're still fine here wait why didn't she get hit by those don't hit me oh that we lost the fight now wait no we didn't they landed directly beside us so they so cappy never came out we never threw cappy there actually i think i should just let cappy hit me because now what we can do is we'll stand here deliberately get hit by these bombs and then and the two bosses are done oh wait a minute i have a super smart idea check this out if i'm able to sneak past cappy underwater i'm not able to sneak past cappy underwater hey there we go okay we're into bird i've actually i want to try something because i've never tried this before yo just poke them right in the forehead straight into the brain all right now the easiest boss fight in the entire game i think i think it's the easiest it should be the easiest bird there we go easiest boss down moon time those two must be over there at no time to dilly dally let's go how about you stay here and i stay alive does that sound good i could die too that also works yeah that's fine i you know so that's good too there we go that's a little better isn't it that movement's a little better into the moon cave the final gauntlet of the run bro wake up oh okay there we go okay good yeah there we go not gonna question it okay fair enough yeah yeah okay we have to remove the hat somehow is the problem this will be an interesting section this is fine because we're at the checkpoint to capture something that has a hat on you need to shake and do it at the same time so i'm gonna have to figure out how to get onto the bridge to activate it without ever throwing cappy there was just some way to turn right will it let me go right the lipstick actually works when you're holding that let's go okay nice this is another checkpoint and we're dead okay yeah another checkpoint sick this is gonna work cappy's coming we're just gonna keep moving no fear okay that does seem like a consistent way to do it now and we're at full health you see that wait a minute we actually threw cappy without taking damage there oh we could totally do this i think we figured out a strat if you stand right next to the chain chomp cappy never leaves mario's hand so i just need to land jump to land on the chain chomp and then i can throw cappy into it this is so tough dude what we're probably gonna do is we're gonna have to jump hit and then do like a ground pound jump or something like there's definitely gonna be like a sick rhythm that we have with this yeah there we go we're making it through phase one with two health good first phase no damage fine okay far away in that one let's go i just damage boosted i figured i could damage boost through that's the fight let's go that one was a sick boss fight though doing the boss like that is so cool actually what what does cappy have to say here look at this look at this cappy is able to control dinosaurs cappy is able to let mario bounce on it watch this cutscene taunts mario and then lets him go okay and now the fun begins bowser should jump to the opposite side hopefully it makes three jumps he does do three jumps good we did figure this out in cloud kingdom i have no idea how we're gonna solve the other problems though because obviously we do have uh more than just this to solve because dang it wow i just died to the flames i can't get that i'm pretty sure if cappy comes back to me with bowser's hat it hurts me right maybe it doesn't i might be wrong i think i need to test whether i can throw caffey at the hats or not let's just try that again all right you cannot use cappy to bring back the hats it was a good experiment so we have to roll into it bowser stop uh this will work actually i could just boom boom i do have to go back now though so i can hit it forwards there now he's gonna go right there yep perfect okay oh it did work nice we'll need to avoid these now good just gonna line it up properly hopefully that didn't turn me too much and let's go roll into him now one two and then back yep nice okay two jumps come on good stuff we still have two hearts we'll get one more heart during the cap throw phase okay we're perfectly lined up for a cross that way so hopefully he jumps that way perfect okay i have to survive one phase we can damage boost if we need to does he just keep throwing no okay he's done there we go one two three i want him to hit me now so i'm facing the right direction good oh no no really oh my god it didn't line me up okay we're just gonna have to go for this now just hope the damage lasts long enough damage boosting lasts long enough good yes okay we're done anyways we got it let's go they finally teamed up and hey cappy's like oh crap i forgot about the magic we were gonna leave them behind and now cappy stays at a comfortable distance of 11 feet while i beat this freaking game the hardest challenge i've ever done in super mario odyssey 26 hours almost that's wild let's uh not die on the end sequence right x d skip of course i did the 2d skip i did the xd skiff with 877 deaths wow there we go and it is possible you can beat super mario odyssey if uh if cappy kills mario and that's time 25 hours 42 minutes 39 seconds that was a long one oh i'm so happy we finally managed to beat this yeah when we started this crafty boss he told me he was like i don't know if this thing's possible here we are finishing it off now do ruined refight first try no no i don't want to anyways i hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon bye for now
