the city you are sit on a hill you're the light of [Music] jesus said to Matthew follow me now if we would say to somebody follow me we would go and find out you know kami we were trying to help him how to do it and we will try and make it as comfortable as possible Jesus didn't look around to see Matthew followed he said follow me and I will make you fishers of men and he started walking you know he said to another man follow me said let me first he said go away I don't need you you see Jesus we think we don't think right here of Jesus we think Jesus will I can all spawn poor long you know there are certain things where grace will abound but when it comes to obedience God speaks and expects you to listen if you do not you will find somebody will be obedient all right the Lord said unto my lord sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool the Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion rule in the midst of your enemies and the people shall be willing in the day of your power people shall be willing in the day of the power of God so what is God saying they must be a day and age they must be a time where the power of God will be seen visibly experienced visibly where there will be the touchable seeable visible tangible power of Almighty God in the Church of Jesus Christ and that will make the people willing so it's not right just to preach about my power but to have my power so people are power-hungry if you don't believe it look at the political world world look at the business world look at everything look at marriages everybody wants power the word power is more than just strength the word power is influence okay that's another word for power and I have never told today I heard somebody preach on that word in the Bible you know power influence remember in Colossians as well as in Philippians as well as in Ephesians he said talks about the Prince of the power of the air you were under the power of the god of this world that word power is influence you were under the influence of the spirits in the air you were under the influence of the god of this world and he said once you were under the power of the Prince of Darkness so you were under the influence it doesn't say he had power of you he had an influence on you so what you mix with is what you will produce so there's an influence that you must come on up so the people you mix with will show what you will produce birds of a feather flock together and if you mix long enough with somebody you will talk like that person walk like that person act like that person so let's go to Luke chapter one for as much as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among stirs now he's writing about all the others that wrote the Gospels now Luke is writing even as they delivered them to us talking about Matthew John Peter he said they wrote and they talk to us now I want to write they delivered them unto us which from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers afterwards so Luke says I'm writing to be precise on what I've heard from all the eyewitnesses so I didn't write from Matthews eye view point I didn't write from Peters view point because Matthew had the Jews in mind you know Peter had power in mind you know and John just wanted to love everybody to death you know so he said I can't write from one's viewpoint so I gathered them all and I said I want all the eyewitnesses tell me how you saw it he says it seemed good to me also having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first to write unto thee in order most excellent Theophilus that you might know or the certainty of those things wherein you were have been instructed now go to the last chapter of Luke so Jesus is saying in his last words before he go into the cloud verse 49 behold I send the promise of my father upon you but tarry ye in the City of Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high I'm gonna send you the promise of the Father so in Acts chapter 2 when the Holy Spirit was poured out Peter said you know this is the promise of the Father the Holy Spirit so go I'm going to send you the promise what did Jesus say in John 12 13 14 15 16 I'm gonna send you the promise I promise you I will not leave you comfortless do not be sad that I say I go away but be glad because if I do not go away I cannot send you the Holy Spirit so he promised him the Holy Spirit he said so I'm gonna save the promise of the Father to you but then tarry till you are clothed with power it's not the same thing it's two different separate situations occasions and things now maybe you've never seen it but we're gonna go a little bit deeper tonight so look and the amplified bible behold I will send forth upon you what my father has promised but remain in the city Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high you can look it up in any translation you want to look it up in Jesus said I'm gonna send you the promise of the Holy Spirit but then don't move till you've got the power to you see we've always mistaken and misplaced it and said if we got the Holy Spirit we got the power so I want to disagree our Synod Saturday night I will show you millions not thousands millions of Pentecostal charismatic believers on this earth that all proclaim they've got the Holy Ghost and to prove it they want to speak in tongues and now I've got all these for when I got the Holy Spirit when I received the Holy Spirit when I was filled with the Holy Spirit when I was baptized and I was / and everybody talks about how we got the Holy Spirit and we have Holy Spirit conferences and disparate conferences and we have Holy Spirit meetings and Kerry meetings and now it's gonna be Eastern and then it's gonna be Pentecost again and we're gonna have the 40 days from Easter to Pentecost and we're gonna talk about the last 10 days again on the Pentecost week and everybody's gonna wait for the Holy Spirit we're gonna pray for everybody all receive the Holy Spirit speak but I'll speak speak speak speak and then oh you got the Holy Ghost you got the Holy Ghost and they may say oh no maybe they haven't got well you can have the Holy Ghost without his power don't come and say I've got the Holy Ghost and say that is power so the Holy Ghost is not proof that you've got the power but the power is proof that you got the Holy Ghost okay acceptor 1 verse 1 are you ready the former treaties have I made oh the Ovilus so it's the same writer so he says remember my first letter now here comes my second letter okay so my first treatise Theophilus I made of all that Jesus began both to do and teach until the day in which he was taken up after from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father which saith he have heard of me John drew truly baptized with water but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence when they therefore will come together they asked of him saying Lord will you at this time restore again the kingdom to his and he said unto them it is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the father has put in his own power but you shall receive power I'm reading King James comma after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth covers but you know I always thought if I got the Holy spirt I've got the power but that's not true Chung's he's not the power goosebumps is not the power come judge it's that simple but we've been taught it you know we you show how when you got the Holy Ghost and power why did we always say all he goes to n power but we didn't divide the two we made it one so all over this earth we sitting with a power less church not to be ugly but somebody needs to stand up and say if the world can have breakthroughs God we stand up and have a breakthrough if the world can make advances in the field can we stand up and make advantages in our field what is our field to get the people willing how will we get them willing in the day of God's power so what must we do pause the point of blessing and breakthrough to get the power so do I stop at the point of blessing jump down the wall and squawk and walk about the mud in the dirt do I get satisfied with a penetration or did I say I see and I want that and I'm not gonna turn away from this wall I'm gonna stay until I've got the power to it's good now that I speak in tongues it's good now that I get the goosebumps it's good now that I laugh in the spirit it's good now that I crawl out of church but I want the power now turn over to X chapter 6 okay the disciple said it's not right that we serve tables we must attend to the Word of God so it's not right that we do the cleaning up of the church it's not right for us to see that the chairs are in a row it's not right for us to see if there's water on the pulpit we need to get to God so let's choose men so who must be the Deacons who must do the dirty work in the church verse three I hope you're ready for this one let's see what's what standard grade the church is succeeding you wait for brethren look out among you seven men of honest report full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom okay just put the end there so wisdom whom we may appoint over this business and we will give ourselves continually to pray in the Ministry of the word verse five and the same please the whole multitude and they chose Stephen listen to this amen full of faith and of the Holy Ghost so every time they put something with only ghosts choose people with the Holy Ghost and wisdom he had the Holy Ghost and he had faith and they chose Philip and pre-chorus and weakened or in timon and parmenas and nicolas a proselyte of antioch so there's all the names verse eight and Stephen full of faith and power did great wonders and miracles among the people so yet the Holy Ghost and power and faith and wisdom chapter eight is Philip verse five and Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them and the people with one Accord gave heed unto the things which Philip spiked heating and seeing the miracles which he did for unclean spirits crying or the loud voice came out of many that were possessed with him and many taken with palsies that came were healed and there was great joy in that city so Philip and Stephen had the Holy Ghost and power her 2x chapter 10 verse 38 he said how God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with him God makes the distinction between the Holy Ghost and with power he said you get the Holy Ghost but when you got the power you'll see the miracles too it's not enough to have the Holy Ghost think I'm just trying to excite your appetite so let's go to Luke chapter 131 you will become pregnant and will give birth to a son and you shall call his name Jesus verse 35 and the angel said to her the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the most high will overshadow you and the Holy thing that will be born of you will be called the Son of God say help me God put your hand they say Lord you gotta help me I don't want to settle for just the person of the Holy Ghost I gotta have the power of God I don't want to settle for the blessing I want to break through in the power come on say it I don't want to settle for the blessing I'm gonna break through for the power why because that's it'll make the people willing some IRAs in ten people shall be willing in the day of God's power cetera can I quote another scripture that I quote you said to Timothy 3:5 you gotta write it down it says something to this effect talk about the last days people will have a form of godliness but they will deny the power take it to our yeah turn away from such but what do people do they try to turn away from those that have the power because they want the form see so people have a form of godliness and it seems quite godly but God says if there is no power turn away from them so God says my church is the power food church my church is not the power less church oh but you mustn't run you've heard it I've heard it and we still gonna hear it you mustn't go for those churches that's after the power stay away from those power churches don't run off to the Mariko's oh the Bible didn't say run off to science and said science must follow you say ok brother show me show me if I mustn't hey you can't let them run off to you if you don't run off to them can't Paul says run off to them pursue them 1st Corinthians 2 and 4 Paul says for I determined not to know anything among you save Jesus Christ and him crucified and I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling and my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit come on say it don't be scared and of power that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power Church you can do with it what you want it's split in two I came in a demonstration of the spirit and in a demonstration of the power because I didn't want you to have faith in what men say with eloquence of words but I want you to add the faith because you saw the power 1 Corinthians 4 now I'm sorry to shock you with this scripture but here Paul is talking about the people that's talking about the Apostles so you go read the whole context says I don't want you to think wrong of ministers especially we apostles listen if people want to call themselves apostles there's a few things that must happen verse 18 now some are puffed up as though I would not come to you because he said when I come to you I will show you what it true apostolis because all these other people come and say we are apostles you see so I'm gonna come and they some let's pop themself up and say I'll Paul would never come poor were never come is it listen but I will come to you shortly if the Lord will and will know not the speech of them which are puffed up but the power for the kingdom of God is not in word but in power so what will you shall I come unto you with a rod or in love and in the spirit of meekness I don't know if you can read between the lines Paul says if you want to call yourselves apostles how must I come and tell you what in apostolis must I come with a rod now a rod in the Bible means correction on a hard way must I come and correct you openly must I come in a spirit of meekness he's actually sarcastic say but when I come I'm gonna call all those apostles out and I gonna say to them now show me the power and I want to hear your words don't come and tell me this is this and this is that and we are apostles and show us the power if you can't show us the power sit down and get the next one a chance show us the power said I want to come and I want to know your power there it is in your book he said no power no apostille so tonight we gotta say Lord people shall be willing in the day of power so thank you for the Holy Ghost now I want the power to God we know what it is to speak in tongues we know what it is to have the Holy Ghost we know what it is to fall over we know what it is to have the goosebumps we know what it is to shake and
