EXPLORING THE CRASHED SHIP | Subnautica Below Zero - Part 4

we're doing a few things now today i said last time i didn't write it down because i actually remembered it that we're going to get a laser cutter we have some fragments for a laser cutter and i think i need to go to the sea monkey nest to get more there's probably bits and pieces lying around elsewhere near there but i think if i'm in that general location uh and there might be some other places where there's laser cutter fragments i think i only need one more um and then we can get the laser cutter we can go to that other ship the the big massive spaceship that's downed and then we can go explore around inside there i put my stuff on the shelves as well and i put in a trash can i've never used a trash can in this game before in subnautica uh it's really helpful but my lockers are full of garbage that i don't want anymore i almost got rid of my pipes because i'm like maybe i should um we should put this actually on top of this can i yeah oh cute these reflections are nice as well um but yeah it just goes up all your stuff obviously it's a trash can it gets rid of stuff that you don't want but i used to just dump it outside in fact this will be a great use scenario i have all these seeds well some of these i should actually put in my uh i should put these in my engine my my power supply you pull up now i can put you in but now i can use a trash can to get rid of the rest of them don't need to close it does it just happen i like that they're gone who's taking my garbage away because it's still built up in here but where is it going [Music] also i remembered how this works you just fill it it fills two water and two salt so if i just leave the salt in it and never take the salt out it should continuously just keep making water right why is that wrong well i got water out of it just now and drank that so at least i have some water coming out of it somewhere i changed the orientation as well so now that this room is on this side um just so things aren't just one big long corridor because that's kind of dumb uh i want something else to go that way but there's some rocks and stuff out here that i can't get rid of remember when this these games are terraforming yeah i don't um let me get my batteries my beta is yes and yes all right let's head out where was that sea monkey nesteroo can i get this to come back up that was that was that area right i guess we're going to find out oh giga base looking good looking good all right i'm going to need to change out power cells in this eventually i need some power cell chargers anybody know where i get those i'll probably have it figured out by the time i get to read any comments on it but it is nice to read your comments it is nice to see people get involved in the series and see what's going on and people also told me that i missed some pdas and i can turn on a thing in the accessibility menu that you can see they can like set it to a color so you can see the interactables and that's great but the thing about it is that it highlights all the fish it highlights everything that you can interact with and normally that's great for like seeing pdas and stuff on the ground and things that i've missed here and there and whatnot but it highlights everything and to me that's more distracting than anything like i don't like that everything is just kind of like glowing yellow now like i can see fragments and stuff but it sticks out to me a bit too much let's not forget or let's not be weird about it and say that i would have missed that otherwise because i would have definitely seen that i don't know it just i like when stuff kind of like blends together and if i miss things i miss things whatever every now and then you're gonna miss things okay um i'm not gonna bring this entire thing in here but for the sake of why aren't you highlighted eh i wanna see if there is another laser fragment here actually i can set this thing to fragments some somewhere fragments yeah oh got something up ahead yeah buddy wait was that just lying there the whole time don't you dare don't you dare all right we got it time to head out that was easy but yeah it's it's a really really great option to have for people who need it um as an accessibility feature the pda paws and all that stuff as well so really really good accessibility options it's cool to see more and more games kind of oh god what am i stuck in i should not have brought you in it's cool to see more and more games have more accessibility features in them because it's needed not everyone is able to play games the same way so some people need accessibility features and i like that um i still think there's more that could probably be added to it but i'm not a expert in this field of game research um yeah i just kind of like seeing the the creatures sort of like blend into the environments and stuff so i don't like i don't like the big yellow outline on everything i wish i could set it to certain things it'd be nice that it maybe that's an update they could do in the future that it doesn't have to be all interactables or you can set different interactables to different colors like fish i can turn off but then pdas i can set to like red fragments i can set to yellow that would be cool all right so what do i need to make a laser cutter do you diamond battery titanium and crystalline sulfur do i still have crystalline sulfur actually thank you yes um i can make a battery [Music] and then two diamond i have a ton of diamonds i guess that makes sense because you need a diamond tip on it right oh baby i can't remember what we'd find in the spaceship what was it that is actually in there is it something of huge value to me i'm gonna go there regardless even if it had all in it but oh we're close to getting the water um i just can't remember exactly what's in it shocker i can't remember something from subnautica again let's just i'm telling you let's just call this series jack can't remember with you guys i'm trying to keep all of my ducks in a row my brain is stinky um but i don't know if it actually takes up more power and it makes you slower but just in case if i get grabbed by something that ends up destroying my thing or i run out of powers i don't want all of my eggs in one basket also my nose is incredibly itchy today i promise i don't do cocaine even though i rub my nose all the time like i it seems like i do okay you stay right there sir i'm not scared of you anymore no not even a little at least to stay in certain regions so you can kind of remember where they here um let's turn on this i finished the reactor checks we dumped a ton of runoff and we don't need the rods melting down then i helped with the scavenging chopped some veggies with the cooks and tried to help diana but she sent me down to engineering with stefanos i've been working with him the last few days stefanos how to describe stefanos he's by far the most thorough engineer i've worked with and no ego he never leaves the job undone no matter how late it is i've never seen him awake before 11 and he always greets me by saying galimera yasmin in the sleepiest drawl not a morning person that one he listens with the slightest smile on his face and twirls this straight girl by his ear sounds dreamy he asks a billion questions but i don't mind he surprised me today there's an empty room on the bridge just a spot of negative space in the ship he set the picnic there and said i need to relax he even called me a busy buddy there were these crazy glowing fungus things he found to set the ambiance the most exciting part though drumroll he can jailbreak fabricators he made a small batch of traditional grecian dishes but the craziest part he managed to make a suitable falafel for me i never thought i'd see a good falafel in deep space alhamdulillah a quiet genius that one this planet may be a cold mistress but maybe it isn't so bad nice um cute sorry i've been worried about where i'm gonna die and where i'm not oh okay i can get back out i can get back out this is the most claustrophobic anxiety inducing thing you can do in these games jesus christ i hate being here i hate being here i hate being here the sounds of death outside well thankfully there's a lot of plants around oh seems like everybody's finding each other down in deep space in the deep dark dark deep down happy for you real happy for you but also your ship crashed and you maybe all died i'm not sure oh this leads outside okay titanium ingot metal salvage copper wire like nice but like where's the goodies bro batteries where's the good good is there any good good okay now i'm back here nice oh another pda ah i can only do repairs in spurts that's so inefficient the larger tools seem to set off seismic activity nearby a crew came back telling stories of gigantic worms burrowing in the ice i don't know what they were going on about they were hypothermic and frostbitten because they walked back to avoid angering them the ice shelf is probably a bit unstable and they got disoriented or something to borrow from diana orion's belt thermal couplings are not meant to be worked on in 20-minute spurts if we break the process we'll break the ship but it's nice to hang out with jasmine while we wait for the rumbles to stop i hope she doesn't mind all my questions i love hearing her voice her face lights up and she's got the most expressive eyebrows they're practically acrobats the way she looks when talking about nuclear engineering is the same way i look at my grandmother's domades the woman never sits down though she told me that she used to do decathlon in college and i can believe it she's like a bouncy ball just all over the place she makes rounds on the ship every day to see if people need help i should do something nice for her she's always helping everyone else i wish i had a fraction of her energy oh and he did do something nice for her a little picnic there must be more to all of this inventory's full dang it kind of wish i brought the storage module now in order to sense the location of an important artifact oh i will share its coordinates so you can look into it yes please signal location uploaded to pda uh oh there nice so these make a noise or the dude i don't know god my inventory is very full isn't it um let's do that not picking up any more salvage is that really all there is here there has to be more i am refusing to believe that i've seen all of this maybe i should go back through that tunneled area again there has to be more this whole ship and all you've given me is stuff that i can get elsewhere well a little bit of story stuff as well but can i get in here no can't even like cut this down there's nothing to scan that's really all that's in this room oh what does this allow me to do maintenance maintenance access oh maybe i can open up the other red doors if i can no this thing hardly still has power no it's just a decoupler thing okay so i'm assuming i need to get all three parts to that parallel processing unit oh wait have i not been in here that's what i mean it's so confusing to know where the hell you are processing parallel thing well i'm going to go back to my base and dump all this stuff and then see what alan has down here or maybe i should just go straight there i do have food and water yeah let's do that oh wait i think allen might be just pointing to the the mining site because the mining site somewhere in the back here right you ever think you know what you're doing and then all of a sudden not at all it has to be here there's lights and everything guiding my way here i want to see how far in i can get in the sea truck now oh i still don't think we can go that deep into this area where the hell do i get the prawn suit again oh you don't even fit in do you oh i'm worried that i'm gonna get that stuck my seat truck doesn't even fit in the door well i have a re-breather now let's go myself okay this stuff to scan thermal plant yeah oh you only need two pieces for that nice nice nice oh the broad suit fragments are here why is it always the places that i think i need the stuff for is where the actual fragments for it are you know what i mean did that make sense probably not aurora wreckage located survivors confirmed oh so this is after altera has released voice recordings which confirmed survivors of the aurora crash the transmission came from trade ship sunbeam which is passing nearby when it detected their sos so the aurora of course being the big ship that we were on in the first game that we blasted out of and then the sun beam was on that was going to save us and then the big gun shot it down hey altera we've got one of your birds in the sub over here looks like they took static survivors they took static survivors i think i've read this before well the number of survivors is not yet known or the true state of the ship it is now known that she has landed with her hole largely intact on planet 4546b smaller than earth and largely waterbound it is thought the planet has a breathable atmosphere and hopes have been raised all around the sunbeam is registered as a five-seater cargo vessel insufficient to evacuate the crew or cargo of the aurora but perhaps enough to assess the situation and reassess shareholders at home that their investment is secure oh no no no there's at least a one-month delay on transmissions from that region of space in the meantime altera is working on every possible solution including an innovative idea to transmit the blueprints for a purpose-built rocket which could be constructed using materials salvaged from the aurora and the planet itself if the crew could begin their journey home now the rescue teams could meet them halfway shaving months off their return altera share prices rose to their quarterly high on the news okay so about capitalism okay cut to open no i don't really want to do that right now i want to focus on some other stuff inventory fold so that was a thing that i had already oh come here you beautiful prawn fragment two of four what is that builder fragment i don't know what a i'm serious look around you this mining facility extracts every mineral your scientists use to make their equipment their bases their scanners even your little sea trucks i wouldn't call them little do you know the name of a single person who works down here well i know you parven ah tell lillian she's wasting her time there's nothing down here but workers and we already know we don't spark her curiosity damn okay my inventory's just getting rid of this and stuff that i can like that's a lot of metal salvage new technology acquired oh another product fragment okay this is where this is actually going to come in handy so i can see all the little things that are around okay okay okay we're getting into dangerous territory new technology acquired a headlamp oh yes yes and a prawn suit yeah baby let's go hell yeah then we can actually come back here with the prawn suit and explore properly because i can get the the drill arm fragment and all that stuff then i get oxygen out of you again yet nope just wasted my time oh yeah the other arm of this area okay we have time to get this no we don't no we don't no we don't apparently i'm not able to scan it i apparently that's uh apparently i've never been on live television before i think that that was a part of the actual prawn suit not an arm fragment okay down into this other section is where the piece of the architect stuff was god i hope i don't drown down here this is dom what i'm doing that's a drill bit arm fragment oh thank god it is reassuring and uncycling to rediscover this site after being in storage for so long my connection to the network grows stronger however slightly i hope you will continue to search for more of these sure well wait quantum locker yeah so we found this statue before it's really cool i don't really have time to sit and look at it right now though why can't i scan these i have changed my arm enough being down here we got some good stuff fragment i can scan this one one of two oh come on bro okay i need to i need to scan all of those down here because there's no point getting the pront suit to come back just to get pirates of a prawn suit you know oh i missed a pda uh was unexplained ion signature links to aurora's disappearance an unusual ion signature on the edge of altera space has scientists baffled and some have drawn a connection with a similar echo detected around the time of the aurora's reported crash landing how the tube might be connected is an open question and many in the scientific community maintain their unrelated and explained by natural phenomenon or even altera secretly testing new technologies fuel has been added to the fire by altera's refusal to release its full data on the aurora accident and recent indications from sources that they will be revising up their list of expected casualties without revealing where this information is coming from it's now been months since the sunbeam went quiet with no new information the salvage teams continued their long journey to 4546b bit of a cover-up inning i really not scan you i can god damn it why are you so wonky 30 seconds of oxygen i know this is cutting it real close i should be able to get out though oh god i hate this oh boy jesus that was scary so i have the thermal plant now bollocks bollocks bollocks i got all the blueprints for that so i can actually make a thermal plant if i want so i can make a second base here if i want to and get geothermal power rather than the stuff i'm using now the the thermal power is probably the best one because it's so please please please please please the areas where there are thermal vents the power that you get out of them is super consistent and really nice to have but now we can make a prawn suit as well it's like if i want to i can go back and explore that area more thoroughly but it would be nice to have a base here with thermal power too just so i can store stuff and bring it back and forth oh god this game makes me so anxious which is good in a way not for my brain or my heart but good for uh content i'm good to make you feel a lie so what would i need to make a prawn suit now uh plus delinquent paracel enamel glass and a computer chip that's not too bad actually some of that i can probably i can make already i have a power cell oh did i get a power cell down there and i have a an upgrade for it already which is awesome um let me turn all of this into titanium let's make ourselves a prawn suit i should make a moon pool now that i have one of these so i can have a place to charge them um to let's go it's about to get epic if we have the prawn suit that means we could probably go find where the lady is the pilot lady in her prawn suit oh pepper it's good to be back all right i have a an upgrade this might be a mistake actually because there's a lot of holes you can fall into whoa god this brings back good memories of subnautica original when i would just get in and use my grappling arm attachment and then pull myself along and you'd go flying across the map that was super fun i should have taken my seat truck for this this is actually quite obnoxious to get around in what's up sea monkey you want to get punched oh you can use the jump upgrade to like sprint and boost yourself forward could you do that before i would always just use it to like boost myself in the air or like go up now you can like boost forward and go even quicker that's pretty neat you can probably always do that i just didn't know i can't remember what about my mood pool to be oh this would be a good place actually because we come in over there and this is where our power source is and then this has like a nice a nice gap underneath so you can like get in under and up wait can i even put it here yes yes nice did you just give me my copper back no get out of here i will punch the out of you monkeys in my neighborhood oh uh there's gonna be whole breeches oh um um um i need reinforcement lithium and with all your other quantum blockers is this literally just a nether chest for minecraft so i can put stuff in my base in a quantum locker and then put one in my no i can't put one in my sea truck i can put one in my other base though if i make a if i put my base here which i already have and then put a quantum locker there or put a bunch of them here and then put one in my other base closer to the mining site with my thermal plant and then all of them can share upgrades and stuff that would be sick that would be pretty tight i'm just saying another fact wow perhaps its data will tell me something useful i have collected enough data to extrapolate the location of a component necessary to assemble my body i will provide a signal thank you alan signal location uploaded to pda excellent i was just searching for gold i ended up finding cool nice what's this creature egg no i don't want creature eggs i want gold minerals i want stuff that's useful for the machine the jack septic empire alan's calling hello allen excuse you my body is anything but inferior i work hard for my body to be able to do what it does yes but its overall form is not ideal for example consider its use of primitive ball and socket joints is there anything you don't find primitive humans bartered with evolution to get more brain wrinkles and opposable thumbs it is the opposable fun is excellent but all corporeal forms are temporary the ability to be reborn when a body breaks down is clear amount my body is my own and i cherish it it grows with me humans have one life we plant trees we can never experience the shade of we build for the next generation but again truly inefficient you are incredibly frustrating you know that i hope to see the forms of my people again to be fair he has a point we do break down we do be doing that um what kind of squishy we kind of uh fall apart quickly we have to maintain ourselves it's a lot of work um okay i was getting those for what was i getting the first computer chip for i was getting it for something not for the quantum locker i needed it for something else first water i needed it for the vehicle bay i was already in the middle of building stuff there's a bunch of like resource chunks that i can get a bunch of ore out of but i kind of architect body cache that's 1400 meters away um how are you doing pretty damn good so what next should i go for that because i think i want to build another base at that mining site and then do that but that'll probably be like next episode stuff it's too much to do for this one but i could go here as like a final thing for this one architect components architect tissues arctic skeleton architect organs wow for somebody who's talking about corporeal forms you sure do want one let's head to this this it's cool that you get like uh another character to interact with and cut scenes like that such a step up for um new technology acquired see truck defense nice it's such a step up for uh subnautica this way test override module fragment oh that's what i use the parallel processing unit for diagnostic module for delta station communication center oh so i build this and it turns off the signal gotcha that far out to sea swimming back for land wasn't an option i'd die from exhaustion long before i made it to shore all i could do was survive long enough to wash up somewhere i felt a suction and suddenly there were vast jaws rising out of the water towards me it had taken hours for the reaper's corpse to float to the surface using the knife i clambered up her flank and got a perch on top i figured she'd float for a few days at least enough for me to catch my breath but would she sink before or after i died a thirst i had a knife a repair tool and three liters of water at least i wasn't gonna die of exhaustion now those reapers they're practically all muscle but there's some fat in there i was able to keep warm and drink the water and i didn't have much but i had that repair tool so i had a spark it took a week to light that first fire and i know more about the burning properties of reaper fat than i ever cared to i had to ration fires but as they burned i could smoke meat that i carved out of the beast's rib cage damn i agree it's a badass surviving all of that um let me turn on this actually so now i can see if there's anything else they can interact with so i can't get into her place because i um because he's blocking it okay well i have my marching orders whoa you have a cool prawn suit margarites promised you the standard issued prawn has been manually altered by its owner exchanging one of its hot-swappable work arms for the mandible of a young justice serrate i never knew how to pronounce it um chocolate given the range of available high-tech prawn modifications in the non-classified altera fabrication suite these customizations appear to be more of a stylistic choice than a functional one however the sharp claw arm could certainly be used effectively in defensive scenarios by an experienced pilot custom suit also appears to have seen heavy use over a long period of time judging by the barnacle overgrowth and permanently damaged sections of the exit the owner doesn't want you messing around that's that's for sure that's for sure for sure it's a cool prawn suit though i want these like jumbo jets on the side of it just fly around was this [Music] nice so she wants me to build that thing to stop oh actually just scan your rooms and get more stuff for myself large room yeah i should build one of those i should take apart my base and just make it a large room instead of having everything in just sections i remember this area being scary margarite what you doing you're sleeping she doesn't want anything to do with me anymore she stinks um thank you okay well i didn't expect to go to her but once i or in this episode but once i knew i was going to go for this i figured that was an inevitability um don't want to go for that just yet then because it's deeper than i thought and 20 meters lower than where i am is where i'm going to start running into trouble i'm going to start breaking apart if i go down there in my bronzing it's not going to be able to take it so i need some upgrades first before i'm able to do that so i feel like this is a good place to end this episode thank you guys for watching we made some incredible progress today got to explore the spaceship we got to make a prawn suit we made a moon pool we made modification stuff i upgraded uh the prawn suit as well itself went down into the mining area and we talked to marguerite again so i think that that's an incredible amount of progress for today so next we've got to build uh the test override module but i do need a parallel processing unit can i get any sort of upgrades pronto depth upgrade enamel glass ruby synthetic fibers and how did i make synthetic fibers again spiral plant clipping i need to figure out what that is and then i'll be able to do that because as soon as i get that stuff i'm able to go much deeper into deep down dark deep down but i did get a snow fox blueprint now as well so that should enable me to be able to go onto the surface where we start off that area to the sort of right-ish where all the ice is above your head you can go down under that and then get up onto the surface and that's where we can go to another base i'm curious how that still is that place was an absolute nightmare to navigate in the early access version so i'm curious if any of that has changed because i really did not like the level design only one of three well the other snow fox upgrades will be there um so i'm curious if it's been sort of streamlined because that's where the giant ice worms and everything are so
