[Music] everybody [Music] that's it lift it up to my church [Music] we've come to lift up jesus blessed savior he's so worthy to be praised given all praises to the god of my salvation i greet you in the marvelous matchless name of our lord and savior jesus christ i am the elder terrence k kirk and i bring you greetings from the sanctuary of the evangelist temple church of god in christ we're the church with the open door where christ rings supreme as king and where we are making ready a people prepared to meet the lord we welcome you and we are extremely grateful that you have taken the time out to be a part and to tune in to our services today so without any further delay let's let us go into a service that's already in progress we're getting ready to hear a word from the lord and i'm going to read you a little about a little bio of hers mother terry faith washington baker mother terry faye washington baker heard the call to be a missionary in the early 1976 while serving as a member at the saint andrews church of god in christ under the past story of the late evangelist s e mitchell she is former member of the texas south central jurisdiction under the leadership and founder bishop c h mason later after that is now 41 years of marriage to administrative assistant larry c baker jr she became a member of the texas southeast first jurisdiction under the leadership of the late bishop r.e woodard senior robert bishop robert e wooder jr and bishop rufus kyles where she served faithfully throughout the years in the women's department under the capable leadership of mother victoria barnes mother millie howard and under mother lina mclean where she serves as district missionary advisory board president program chairperson and a member of the finance team later at the incept of the texas gulf coast jurisdiction she was chosen by bishop dextra c bell senior to serve as the supervisor for the department of women she was also chosen by general supervisor mother barbara mccool lewis to serve on the international department of women's finance team she enjoys working with the women in which she served mother baker is the mother of two larry iii virginia who now rests with jesus her goal in life is simply to live a life so others will see christ and be convicted to follow him there is no way i can live without you lord god bless you lord i thank you on today we thank you god who for who you are you are our god the god of all flesh and we thank you we thank you we thank you thank you lord for who you are thank you for your tremendous blessings to us thank you for how you have counted us righteous through your dear son jesus christ oh jesus we thank you for what hallelujah jesus we thank you jesus we thank you jesus we thank you we thank you we thank you for going to calvary for us thank you lord thank you thank you lord that you suffered bled and died but on the third day you rose again with all power all power [Applause] power glory to god in your hand and we thank you for it we thank you right now speak through these lips of clay heavenly father word my mouth and give me what to say and give me how to say that that you have given me to say look on the shepherd of this flock on today in a very special way god you know the needs you know you see and you know lord bless this church a beacon in this community in the name of jesus by the works of the adversary lord you said to pete upon this rock i'll build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it and we thank you for your word bless us in jesus name amen you may than good he's better than good he's better than good he is better than good i tell you what where would i be without the lord i like that song there is no way that's that's one of my favorite songs uh rodney barnes that's one of my favorite songs there is no way i can live without you praise god sometimes people look high and low trying to discover that god is the only way the only route that we can go but i honor the lord on today and i honor the pastor of this church pastor tim kirk who was in our wedding i met him over 41 years ago probably about 42 years ago and uh to my own husband and pastor pastor larry charles baker jr god bless you and thank him for coming with me as well as some of the saints from sheepfold would you all stand up real quick if y'all can stand you're so far back i can barely see you back there yeah all right thank you minister washington minister mayberry thank you i told them this was a big church so it was going to be social distancing but i didn't mean for them to sit way back in the dark but uh thank god for pastor scott praise god god i tell you we pray for him and not just because of our prayers but because he's got favor with god thank god for you pastor for your administrative pastors we thank you for them and to my bff uh mother mae scott the mother may scott raise god for my bff for the coordinator of this service missionary and mcqueen benton hallelujah i felt anointed when i said that let me say that again missionary and mcqueen benton praise god for this beautiful service that you coordinated for every participant for the emcee for all of you all that are here in your rainbow of colors i tried to match everybody i really did try i had another one i probably should have spoke a little bit and then go and switch to that other dress because it has some more colors in it so i could be in everybody's color but it's good to see you all missionary plattenberg god bless you to uh brother deacon and sister killings god bless you all it's been a long time i think one time they left their purse mission mother killings left her purse at our church and they had driven all the way back home and we went and got her purse and they drove back and got her purse i should have looked in that purse but it never occurred to me to look in the purse because it may have been something in there for me but i praise god for each of you and truly the lord has a blessing for us on today he has blessed us already i'm just adding a little icing to the cake because y'all could have invited anybody but i praise god that you invited me to come thank you for coming oh thank you so much pastor i appreciate that for you all having an open door when i came for the uh texas southeast women's luncheon i don't i enjoyed myself probably more than y'all enjoy i enjoyed myself that day what a beautiful i see some old faces not that you're old but i see faces that's been here for a long time and it's good to see you still being on the wall praise god because this is not the time to give up this is not the time to throw in the child payday is coming after a while hey glory to god payday is coming after a while payday is on its way praise the lord and i like the theme the rainbow of colors which really speaks of those very words that i said and the scripture coming from genesis 9 13 through 17 and i think uh his sister that read those scriptures a minute ago where is she thank you for reading those scriptures so the word has been read because she read it that's that's where i'm coming from i'm going to just uh highlight a few of those where in genesis 9 13 through 17 the 13th verse say i do set my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth and it shall come to pass when i bring a cloud over the earth that the bow shall be seen in the cloud and i will remember my covenant which is between me and you and every living creature in all flesh and the water shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh and so god is speaking here and just reminding of us of the covenant that he made between himself noah and all flesh because you all know the story of how it rained 40 days and 40 nights without stopping noah was glad when the water stopped dropping he looked at the windows and he looked at the door but god held them in the ark he held them in god told them to build that ark and i believe it took 120 years to build that ark and the thing that impressed me about it was that noah followed directions god has specifications for the ark because he knew the rain was coming he was going to send the rain and what was so important about that was that it had never rained before it had never rained and god knew that he was going to let it rain those many days and it needed a sustainable house for his preserved people and god has a sustainable house for us this old flesh is passing away it's got to go this is a temporary dwelling and sometimes when we have temporary dwellings we have a uh we have the propensity to not take care of temporary things i'm not talking about anybody in here i'm just saying sometimes renters will tear up your stuff i'm just saying because they know they can leave your stuff and go on and get somebody else's stuff and tear it up so they don't take care of it as well as the owner does well god has granted us temporary ownership of this temple and he intends for us to take care of it because this temple was built not for our enjoyment but for his this body is not for us to enjoy but it's for god's presence to dwell in this body that's why he gave it to us and so god commanded noah to build that ark and construct it in such a way that it would house those eight people that were spared through the flood because it's one thing to reign but it's another thing to wait until the rain dissipates because we know in living in houston it rains for a short while and it begins to flood and the water needs somewhere to go god takes care of his people before we can think it he's already thought it before we can think it he's already done it before we can think it he's already made provision he never has to go back and redo what he did he never has to go back and restate what he said because he knows the end from the beginning god already knows and when we take a look at it uh on last week i believe it was me and my husband were out riding it had rain on the north side because we know that houston is a big place it can rain on the north side and the drop not fall on mlk oh it can rain over here and we not get anything it's still sunshiny but that particular day it rained on the north side it rained on the north side and we were out riding and we saw a rainbow i said look at that that's the first rainbow i've seen in a long time and the colors of the rainbow were all the colors that's in here today matter of fact the the rainbow actually it's a it's a gold color it's really gold with with gilded it looks gilded it's the it's like like glass and gold mixed together but when the sunlight hits it it reflects different colors it reflects the different colors and that's why we see the different colors in the rainbow and if you notice when you look at the rainbow it's it's symbolic of a bow when you see a bow and arrow that the indians used to use but the only thing is it doesn't have an arrow it doesn't have a string that you can put a weapon on to shoot and another thing about is that the bow points upwards to god not down here to us but the bow points upward towards god and so god created everything to praise him he said let everything that have breath praise him and we put stipulations on it because we say well i ain't been living saved all day you know i'm a sinner so i'm not going to praise him everything that has breath praise him just think about if you're a sinner you start praising me you'll get saved oh that's not what you want oh i got you i got you i got you but if you start praising him you'll come out the world if you stop praising him you come on the lord's side if you start praising him let everything that have breath praise the lord say well but i got a habit that i i know i got to have and i can't break if you start praising him he'll break your habit he'll turn your loose from that habit he'll separate you from that thing that's keeping you from praising him oh glory to god he'll separate you from lying he'll separate you from stealing he'll separate you from backbiting he'll separate you from hypocritin he'll separate you hey glory to god yes he will when you start praising him see then that that's the devil know that he can't get a tohoku on you that god created you for a particular reason for a particular perspective and that is to praise him hallelujah and when we do our job then god will come in and do his when we lift up our voice like a trumpet in zion when we lift ourselves up when we put ourselves on the back burner and let god take the front row where he belongs hallelujah when we step out of flesh and praise the lord forget about what you're not forget about what you got forget about who you are but praise the lord because he's worthy to be praised somebody sing a song and say if he don't do anything else he's done enough if he don't do nothing he's not enough i was thinking deep in sin [Music] from the peaceful shore very deeply [Music] [Music] but the master [Music] but my god my creator [Applause] my wheel in the middle of the wheel my battle axe [Applause] cry let me go with my notes here but when we were out driving that day and i saw the rainbow it reminded me of the promise that god made to noah and to all flesh all right he said after this he said i'm not going to destroy the earth with water anymore and how many know god keeps his word god keeps his word he says i'm not going to destroy the earth with water anymore but when i looked at that rainbow i saw more than the rainbow i saw the covenant that he made with noah the agreement he made with him and it was initiated by god he made the the the agreement with noah god initiated it he knew what was in it and he knew he could keep his word many many many many many centuries have passed since then and god has not destroyed the earth with water anymore but when i looked at the rainbow i saw the second coming of christ all right all right jesus is soon to come when you look at the rainbow not only are you reminded of the fact that god is not going to destroy the earth with water but you're reminded of the fact that jesus is coming back because the rainbow is saying to me not water but fire not water but fire and it's saying to me get ready and stay ready it's time out for jumping in and out it's time out for fussing and squabbling and arguing and backbiting and all that kind of stuff that is not once to be named among the saints but we are to be kindly affectionate one to the other it's time out for all that time has wound up and it's yet winding up so when we get ready stay ready stay prepared because any day now who's saying that song john p key he said any day now any day now jesus gonna bust through the clouds and i'm reminded of my brother one of my brothers he's about 80 right now and 30 years ago when he got saved he said that he believes that he's going to be caught up in the rapture and you know as we get older we we leaning more and more towards the grave the older we get and i thought about his age and i said you know what it inspires me to stay safe because he's getting pretty old and if the rapture is coming he better come on before so i better stay safe but when god makes a promise he does not forget he has made promises to you in here and he has not forgotten although you think he's forgotten because it's taken so long for those things to come to pass what he said but he's building something in you he's growing something in you and that's why he wants you to just endure until what he said comes to pass because the scripture said because when god made an oath because he could swear by none greater he swore by himself surely blessed i will bless thee so when god swore by himself and he said this is my oath i will not destroy the earth with water again god keeps his word every morning is a new day we get up and i heard brother rodney sing that song one day about great is thy faithfulness every day is a new day every day is a new day for god to do something new in our lives i don't know about you but somebody said oh why can't the pandemic leave so we can go back to life the way it was i don't want to go back the way it was i don't want to go back there i think i have grown doing this pandemic do you and i don't want to go back to retardation i want to stay grown up i told somebody i don't want to go back to being 16 either i don't want to go back to being 17. i don't want to go back to being 27 i don't want to go back to being 37 i don't want to be oh well i better stop right there i don't want to i like my age just where i am all that other stuff i'm through with that i'm done with that i've been over that that's finished done and over i'm in a new season in my life and i love it i love the the revelations that god is giving i love the sunday school when we go to sunday school and we're learning how to apply his word to our lives and and how to go forward in it and how to get away from some of this trivial stuff that we major in and we minor in the majors and we major in the mind of god help us today help us help us help us and he said i am helping you i sent the pandemic thank you father he is helping us he wants us to be aware of what's really important and people are important things are not important but people are people cannot be replaced things can be but not people and it behooves us to take care of each other to look out for each other to love each other not to have somebody to die pass away and then we come up here with all them big tears crocodile tears and just crying and i know it don't happen here i'm just talking about where it happened you know out there in facebook land they'd be crying and going on and just hollering and screaming and about to jump in the grave and you tell them to jump they ain't gonna jump they're not jumping they're not jumping they're gonna jump over and come up out but the time to do good is while people are living when we're living give us our flowers while we're living say a kind word do a smile you know cooperate don't be con con contentious and contankerish lord where are my notes jesus come on don't be hard to get along with and and angry jesus that that ain't to jesus in us ain't the jesus in me is that the jesus in you they let the jesus in you that is jesus in you i serve a victorious jesus he's a victorious jesus he's the god of love and peace and joy and happiness and strength he's a conqueror and he told me that i'm more than a conqueror [Applause] hallelujah sometimes we go through stuff down here we almost faint we just pass out because somebody stepped on our tour got our parking space i'm gonna go in there and tell them they gonna get out of my parking space right now because i ain't gonna take it because they get in my pocket oh come on come on come on come on let them stay there cause the thief might come and your car miss getting robbed and theirs did oh lord these things are unimportant but we are to be loving and kind we talking about the colors of the rainbow and then we want to make difference between people oh you black you white you mexican you german you this and you that god created a rainbow god created all colors all races red yellow black white orange all colors he created all of us and then the other community came along and tried to subvert the meaning of the colors but god created different people on purpose we are to be different it would be really boring if everybody was just like me or everybody was just like you but god gave us an array of people that we can appreciate and get good out of everybody everybody has something to bring to the table [Music] so i was out riding with my husband and we i saw the rainbow i was reminded of the promise that god made and god is so great that he lowered himself to make an oath with noah and all flesh about there would be no more rain he didn't have to do it because he's god and he's sovereign and everything he does is fine and everything he does is all right and everything he does is glory glory because he knows everything he does not take directions from us we take directions and guidance from him we are not the head he is we can't order him around because he's not rex or rover or clover he ain't fifi of gigi he's god he owns us we don't own him he's the author and finisher of our faith he's the one that healed me when i was in the car accident in 2017 and the car that in the truck and i ended up with multiple fractures in my pelvic and when they took me to the hospital i said lord i do not want to go to this hospital number one because i don't like it number two i don't want surgery and number three i want to go home walking and when the surgeon came in he said miss baker i have some good news and bad news he said the bad news is you're going to be off your feet for about eight months he said the good news is that all of your fractures are lined up perfectly so there is no need for surgery [Music] i didn't mind the fact that i would be on the walker for eight months the only thing i was concerned about was i didn't want him to operate on me and god did that thing he said they are lined up perfectly and i say hallelujah glory to god bless god and his holy angels hallelujah and then i was looking forward to going home and before the next morning at midnight he let me out to go home they taught me how to walk on a walker you know like you don't know how to walk on a walker right and you know if your leg is hurt you're not going to put your weight on it but that sunday morning i don't know i think that was a wednesday or thursday but that sunday morning i got up i said it's no sense of me sitting at home went to church i was sitting there on my seat and we started praising the lord and i had my walker there and and i stood up and when i stood up my leg was aching but god spoke to me and said your leg is healed and i he spoke that while i was in pain and i had no better sense but to believe it and i immediately started rejoicing but that left leg never touched the flow i just rejoiced on that right leg and i just followed what the doctor said but that i tell you it was not eight months it was not two months it was hardly a month and i'm walking so i'm saying that god keeps his word saints rainbow of colors god keeps his word he knows every language he knows when you say um he knows what it means when you say oh lord god when the lord tells you to hold your peace and he'll fight your battle hold your peace hallelujah hallelujah when he tell you to stop fighting back just hold your peace he said this battle is not yours but it's mine hey we in a war [Music] in a battle that we don't have to fight all we got to do is stand still we ain't got to talk about it we ain't got to gossip about it we got to get on the phone and dial up about it we ain't got to text about it why because we make up god's rainbow and we are better than that we are better than that we are better than that we are more than conquerors through christ jesus because we don't fight like the flesh fight but we fight in the spirit realm we fight with prayer we fight we pray [Music] glory glory our weapons are different god only gave us one offensive weapon the sword of the spirit which is the word of god so we don't fight by getting even lord i don't know we don't fight by getting uh uh doing tap for tat we don't fight by saying well he killed my cat i'm gonna kill his dog we don't i don't care if you from from new orleans if you from cajun town if you're a frenchman if you are ninja uh whatever we don't fight like that why because now we're under the blood and the blood makes us one the blood makes us one the blood saves us the blood sanctifies us the blood delivers us [Music] we're delivered by the blood i don't care if your grandmother was a pista totem and a tobacco chewing and a snuff dipping uh against a warrior it don't mean that you got to be that way i don't care if your dad lied so much that you knew he was lying when his lips was moving but you don't have to be that way you can be holy because the lord your god who has called you out of darkness [Music] he called us out he said therefore if any man be in christ he is a new creature he didn't say you will be he said you are and he went on and said now you are the sons of god what does that mean sister baker when god sees us somebody said well i'm upset because he didn't say i'm the daughter of god you're included in the sonship because god don't see male or female he see his son when he look at me he see his son when he looks at you he sees his son when he looks at me he sees a sign when he looks at you he sees his son when he looks at you he sees your son when he looks at you he sees his son when he looks at you he sees silence we ought to be more concerned about the dna of god and how we portray him to the world because we are rainbows and a rainbow can be seen so what scene when they look at me what do you see when you look at me what do i see when i look at you what do i see when i listen to you what do you see when you listen to me what are you hearing from the people of the lord god said in his words that let there be a difference between clean and unclean yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah let there be a difference between clean and unclean between holy and unholy he said be ye holy in all manner of conversation b.e holy holy holy holy [Music] he said be ye holy because the lord your god he's the lord your god is he your god then you shall be holy because god has spoken it you can't be in any other way [Applause] [Music] we got to be holy because he spoke it just like he spoke to noah said there be no more rain to destroy the earth the same god spoke and said be ye [Applause] [Music] a holy can be seen because it's sitting up in the clouds you can be seen because you're the light of the world a city that sits on a hill cannot be hidden you can't be here you can't be ignored you can't be looked over you can't be looked under you can't be looked around can't be looked through cause you are in life [Music] [Music] hey you are a light you are a light in a dark place some of us put too much we put too much emphasis on other people uh validating us you ain't gonna help me to come back but you put too much emphasis on other folk folk just like you just like me same flesh flesh and blood jesus had to die for them just like he did us but we put a lot of emphasis on them validating us if they tell you you ain't nothing then you believe you ain't nothing the devil is a lie he's a lie and that truth ain't in him they tell you ain't worth a dime and you think you ain't worth for dying and so they're the ones that's not worth anything because they have not come up to their full full measure in christ by being loving to you lord help me today and they dogging you out [Music] they don't have the authority or permission to dog you out they don't have sense enough you stand on the word of god you stand on the word of you're a child of the king and you standing you're not you're not god made us a little lower than the angels sometimes why do we think we ain't nothing until we get in the world and start acting freaky oh i didn't say that [Music] why why is it that we wait to get out in the world to get accepted the world don't love you they don't love you they don't care nothing about you because you don't fit you don't fit you like a square peg trying to go in a round hole god made you a rainbow you're a rainbow you you sit high you sit high without even trying to sit high and folks want to stamp you under their feet and let you tell you where you shouldn't be doing that you shouldn't be doing this you should don't do what the pastor say don't do this don't do that don't do that ain't nothing but a bunch of foolishness lord jesus have i talked to anybody over here i haven't even i don't even know y'all listen we put we put more more trust in what people that don't know nothing tell us than we do in god who knows everything when he calls you to be a missionary the first thing he's calling you to do is study [Music] he lord help me study to show yourself approved on to auntie sister shanaynay unto brother ringworm unto god a workman that needed not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth the first thing he's calling you to do is study not to look for a podium but to study his word go to school go to god's school learn what his word says first thing you need to do is learn who you are who am i in christ you you're somebody you are somebody i'm here to tell you some i feel it i feel the anointing of the holy ghost to tell you today that you somebody don't you let nobody make you feel low listen i'm from the country as my daughter used to say i'm from the country i'm so far in the country we didn't even have neighbors i was so far in the country that was way before cell phones and we didn't have electricity but i tell you one thing we did we may have been pole but we kept a clean house you don't have to keep a nasty dirty run-down house just cause you oh i'm so i feel so anointed brother right now i need to close my mouth and go sit down lord jesus truth you're somebody you're somebody you don't need the drug dealer to tell you somebody you don't need to pimp to tell you you somebody you somebody being on the pole don't make you nobody but being a child of god makes you you are precious precious precious precious you are precious and lord don't let me go there lord jesus okay if you get with a man and he tell you you ain't nothing then you say well you nothing either because you married or nothing so therefore you nothing you got to have a comeback and then you got to get your stuff and get up out of there [Music] and the promises that god has made to us saints is not a rash he's going to fulfill everything he said [Music] he's going to fulfill everything he promised you that he said he's going to do [Music] but we have to give him a life furnish a life be steadfast unmovable uh you never see a rainbow in the sky and it just shrivels up and just melts and just falls to the earth it stays where god put it stay where god planted you stand your ground stand your ground [Music] you say god told you to work with the young girls stand your ground work with them do it do it not for you to be seen but do it to help them you say god bless you and he told you to work with the seniors work with them do it for you not to be seen but so that the seniors can be helped we operate in ministries of helps but so many people want their names in lights for what for what jesus is the light of the world he's the light of the world so if this time when when we look at who we are knowing who we are is so important when we know who we are it makes us confident it builds our self-esteem you hear people say i can't do it but some of you all are coaching you say yes you can go ahead yes you can yes you can and before they know a day up there doing it because you said yes you can let's tell people yes you can this i can't make it you say yes you can because i'm praying for yes you can yes you can say yes you can yes you can yes you can can because i'm praying for you so i can see it in you oh i see it that's what our mother used to tell us i'm the 13th child of 15. and she told me you're a leader and i was so quiet i didn't even say hello to the chickens i didn't say a word i i just i was just quiet i didn't see what she saw but she saw what was in me i believed it because she said it but i couldn't see it i said well whatever you say i don't know how you're going to do it cause i don't talk that's all and one day i was in 12th grade and sitting in my desk at a history class and the lord i felt the lord with a key he unlocked my mouth i've been flapping ever since i sure have i love to talk [Music] i've been talking ever since but my talk is to motivate you to know that you are somebody in christ it don't matter how old you are or how young you are you are somebody in christ the best one i know to build your self-esteem is christ when you accept him and you you read that word and find out who you are he said you are fearfully and wonderfully made cause god does not make junk he doesn't make junk he doesn't make people for other people to push around you stand your ground and you stand it you can stand your ground in a nice way and say you know what i never recall disrespecting you so why are you disrespecting me and sometimes you don't you have to ask them why they doing it just say i never recall disrespecting you so please do not disrespect me let them know in a nice way and say if you cannot respect me then you you do not have to talk to me why don't you take a moment and just step back we're not on facebook are we [Applause] well i can't say that then she might be listening but i had somebody one time and they was talking real off the wall and i told him i said look when you get a lucid moment say hang up i told them to hang up now but when you get back in your right mind then call me because i'm not going to entertain your conversation you put the devil to a stop tell them because your temple belongs to the lord you're not a trash jump don't tell them they got you confused with bfi and ww2 and all those other trash cans and trash trucks that run through your neighborhood so you you're not a red trash bag and you're not a great trash bag you're not a brown trash bag you're not a great one with a red top on it and you're not a great one with a green top say you are a jewel and you're not standing for that you're going to support your leader you're going to support your church you're going to support your leader and you're going to support your church you're going to support your leader and you're going to support your church you're going to do that because you are a rainbow and god is going to more than give back to you what you have given sometimes we want to measure our blessings we tell we first thing we want to tell god is i don't have it i don't have it god knows what you got and and a lot of times he's trying to get something to you but he got to get something out of you first so he can get something in you so don't tell him no more what you don't have because he already knows just be obedient to him when he tells you to give he said lord they said they're always asking for money well then go get something else [Music] yeah give some of those clothes you got in your closet like my friend back there and you cut the hangers and they still standing she got so many clothes you cut the hangers from the from the rod and the clothes still standing [Music] give some of those you are a beautiful rainbow god has made promise to you he says surely blessing he will bless [Music] he gonna bless you he got a special blessing for you very very special blessing just for you with your name on it and you know the good thing about it
