[Music] how's it going guys welcome you know what this reminds me right now of our youth conference our annual youth conference right before it starts all the youth are just waiting ready to go you guys are the young ones young at heart you're like I'm I'm at the front and I'm here I got my place awesome well if you're joining us for the first time tonight welcome we are so glad you're here and if you've been here since the first night hasn't it been amazing it's been so good it's been so good well we're gonna get started in worship you can stand up to your feet you can come up to the front the aisles in the back you can stay in your seat you can go on your knees you can stand up you can jump around you can be at have freedom here in worship we want you guys to have freedom and just go for it it's been an incredible conference so far I love it every time we do a conference I feel like there's always these underlying themes that begin to kind of come out and you know you book your guest speakers and you book these speakers and there's a team for the conference but then something always happens you're like oh god you wanted to do this this and this it was like you're in it all of it Holy Spirit and I just feel like you know I was praying today and I'm like man this has been a like a conference of transformation but real like on the inside and starting from the first night going after healing and forgiveness and getting rid of the bitterness - last night where John was ministering about getting rid of all the compromise in our life and then this morning about you know actually hosting the manifest presence of God and what it requires from us and I just feel like us collectively as a group because you are going for it because we are going for we're single we're all in like we're all in let's get rid of all the compromise let's work on our fear of the Lord let's you know like God let's do this we are all in and because we are doing this together as a group God's like I'm gonna I'm coming I'm showing up my presence is coming and so I just want to build some more expectancy in you that tonight and tomorrow like it's just gonna go up and up and up from here so that the personal decisions that you guys have been making every single session and with the decisions that you make for your life is not only for your life but for the collective group for what the Holy Spirit wants to do in the room so I am so so excited guys let's just repeat after me say I'm all in God I am all and we are all in Holy Spirit we love you we love you and God we just say come have your way bring it on bring on more of your presence more of your fire more of your anointing in this place god we want to see you move we love you and I pray God that as we worship you for this neighborhoods and families and schools and workplaces are represented in this building and I just feel like you know I don't know some of you some of you may have walked into this conference like I just need filling for me like that's my that's the scope that's my vision I just need God for me I just need to be filled but then there comes a time where God's like yes it's for you I want to see you alive and refreshed and well but I want to see you running out of this building ready to say God come and move in my school come and move in my workplace in my family and if there's anyone here you know where you've walked into this conference and you're like you know I can like have a holy moment in a church setting you know I can get on my knees I can be touched but if there's anyone here that's like my reality in my family or with my kids or in my workplace is hard and it's been this upward battle I'm walking up this hill it's just like it's just been hard if you can put your hands up and I just want to say for all of us now what we're singing the song God come and do what you want to do in my life but come and use me God set me on fire for my family and for my workplace and from my unsaved family members God for those of us who para hands up where it's been challenging and it's been hard god we want to say come come and use our lives set our lives on fire not just for us to have a great time but to be running out of this church building carrying what is here into our spheres and our circles and our neighborhoods in our cities and for anyone here that's just been like I just had discouragement it's just been hard I'm almost giving up trying or just you know trying to be passionate about something God that you would come and bring so much encouragement come and lift us up come and build us up put excitement back in our lives just take off that dullness and that disappointment in that frustration God that we would have so much vision God we want to carry your fire outside of this place we don't want to just have an awesome worship worship set and an awesome conference and leave and and not affect our families and our neighborhoods and our workplaces God come and have your way come and move for just 30 seconds under your breath God come picture with your eyes closed is it a family member is it your cubicle in your workplace what is it with and just picture it and I'll picture you there standing there saying God come and have your way come and move Spirit of God come come come and bring the transformative power that I'm seeing in my life this week in this place right now you have to do with God by your grace and your power you have to do it here we are and send us God we love you we love you Oh God come [Music] those strained relationships God come and bring your peace bring your grace [Music] just a few more seconds just keep picturing those places that you're like I want the presence that is here in that place [Music] you don't wanna this say come and have your way you Holy Spirit all across this room right now just release the peace that you came to release if you came to now in you you're desperate for to find peace you're desperate to find your place you're desperate the anxiety and worry will end in your life right now we release the Spirit of God over you and if that's you just put your hand up high we want to pray for you if you're next to someone just just please just put your hands on their shoulders let's just release the peace of God the Bible says that his peace transcends all understanding we can even get it we can is just it just doesn't work when you encounter the tangible presence of God transformation happens when you encounter the presence of God [Music] he releases his power over you and today we believe for those of you that have your hands up high we stand in the gap with you right now and we release the freedom in the kingdom of God and we grab a hold right now when we release be set free right now in the name of Jesus be set free right now in the name of Jesus father tonight we pray not empty prayers but we pray a prayer that comes in loaded father with your power loaded with your fire loaded with your presence so right now we command in the name of Jesus for sphere of anxiety to just be set free and go right now in the name of Jesus we do not accept mental illness as a major issue in our church and our midst and right now we just take his stand and recommended to go with the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus anxiety you are not welcome in our lives yeah depression you're not welcome in our lives stress you're not welcome in our lives and right now we just speak life in the name of Jesus life in the name of Jesus I speak life over your spirit I speak life over your emotions I staff as well you guys are the ones that are full of the Spirit and have practiced this just lets just everyone minister in this place I also feel like a a problem with your hip something to do with your hip I don't know if you fell down the stairs I just see someone falling and then something happened to your hip if it lets you just just put your hand up high we have someone here someone over here another person if you see someone with their hand up pilot just just quickly just move everyone in this place where is just ministry less ministry healing in this place let's just minister in this place of presence and the love of God let's just minister I also see you on your right knee that's you I don't know if you were in the motorcycle actually then or or something like that and you ain't your dear or your right knee is that you just just wave your hands we have someone here we have someone right there if you see people with their their hands up if someone is praying for you just block party we're at North Kipling Park we have got a lot of people here today that are out for this community event free giveaways free hotdogs got about 60 volunteers from the church that are here today that are just loving on the people in this community is giving away to the community with no strings attached with no questions asked people are saying well why you guys doing this well you know like as we can [Music] I'm here to volunteer at the backpack drive what it is as we get a bunch of supplies school supplies and we put it in backpacks based on grades and then we give it away to the students from the Wrightsville community [Music] I'm actually a teacher at a middle school in the Red Steel community and I do look a lot of students who don't have school supplies so when I heard about this opportunity I thought it was perfect [Music] it is so good to feel like we are able to help our Goldensohn and show them that that we love them unconditionally [Music] [Music] oh come on that is fantastic folks I'm going to be pulling on your heartstrings here I don't need to pull on them too much we're gonna take up an offering tonight for our consistent sustainable work that we're doing in our Rexdale community all right that's awesome the people that clap will be giving $10,000 so it's all good it's notes wonderful you know what folks here's the thing Rexdale for those of you who may not know you saw some of the slides and they're going out the Rexall community is a community in our city where this church is situated and planted we are in the Rexdale community and there are approximately 37 I thought really 37% of the people in our community are below the poverty line 25% a little over 25% of the children in this community are below the poverty line and you know what last week I woke up one morning and a thought hit me regarding Rexdale it was like God why Rexdale well I'll tell you why when I was two and a half years old I came to this country from Trinidad and Tobago and and you know what my parents were that poor immigrant family and you know where we lived we lived in Rexdale to this day people land at the airport and they go to Rexdale the Rexdale community is one of the poorest communities in the greater toronto area and you saw a couple of slides a couple of the videos regarding some some of this we did there in june of this year we did a block party for the people of the Rexall community I gotta tell you a quick story we searched and tried so hard to get a park to do this this this block party and and the city would not give us a park it was like it was like it was like hitting my head against a brick wall and then I said to the city permit manager I said you got to help us out here we want to do something for the community she goes okay I've got just the place and the part that she gave us happens to be in the Toronto Star our local paper a Toronto paper v is considered the worst area in the city that's why we got it folks I want to tell you something we went out there our team went out and our local church is so amazing there's 60 of us that went out every single week we knocked on doors we prayed for people and we invited them to our block party that you saw in the video two days before our block party I had to call the city because the park was so filthy that you could barely walk through it they came out and cleaned it up and you know what happened on that date it was Canada Day long weekend how many of you know if you're Canadians candidate long weekend you're usually not in church but our people were and you know what folks get this fifteen hundred people from the local community came pouring out of their buildings and houses to attend our block party yeah yeah a few weeks ago a few weeks ago at that block party we actually asked people to register parents that could not afford to give their kids proper school supplies to the beginning of the year and it was something that the Lord laid on my heart and pastor Steve was like Curtis let's just do this man let's let's transform the community we gave out four hundred and ten backpacks to children in our community a few weeks ago folks I want to tell you listen we are on something we are on to something and I want to just say this very quickly I was told I have a minute I think I'm thirty seconds over I want to say this very quickly God doesn't make chairs he makes trees he makes trees we make chairs God is not going to land on your city in our city and our wreck steel community he's not gonna land on this and all of a sudden everyone's gonna come running into the church no he's given us the anointing he's given us the wisdom he's given us the skill and we are gonna go out and make a difference so I want to ask you to help us to make a difference in our community we want to do it sustainably and we want to be in there and guess what I I don't ever want to go away amen so father we just thank you so much for this offering tonight we ask Lord that every single one of us that souls into this good soil we will see an incredible and abundant harvest father as we meet needs both physically and emotionally and spiritually we thank you that by your power and by your grace we are transforming our city one person at a time and all of God's people said amen all right so how can you give okay Millions is spelled god you're so holy I love you and then get out there and then just like do ever they want the parking lot and be rude grumpy people and not follow the rules so I just want to encourage you guys please tomorrow let's not park across the street and let's be kind in the parking lot as well it's coffee shop to our baristas and the book so it's just be kind loving people other than that um Chris and summers Schiele led worship tonight was that amazing or what it was incredible they loved the presents they loved Jesus they loved worshipping there's an anointing on their lives they lead to catch the fire worship and music movement all over the world they actually have is this an album or an EP I'm so album I'm so bad at this it is at worship album this came from this past January so this past January we celebrated 25 years since revival came and 25 years of being in revival and so we celebrated that in January he was here for that awesome okay that was an incredible time we had together just in January this is live from that conference in January so it's hot off the press it's been out for a month a couple months and it's really good and it's live which is amazing so you can grab this in the bookstore okay Duncan Smith I love preparing I today I was like what I have maybe 20 things I could say about Duncan so I'm picking my most favorite there's a very few group of us that can say a very special privileged group of us that can say Duncan Smith was my youth pastor I am in that group Duncan Smith was my youth pastor for a few years that would have been what 15 16 17 years ago giving away my age giving away your age actually more than mine and so Duncan is was an incredible youth pastor and uh and I think it was last night John Bevere said oh I love your enthusiasm and it's more than enthusiasm it's like deep joy passion all coming from head over heels in love with Jesus like that is Duncan that was Duncan you know 15 years ago 17 years ago when I met him and that's Duncan today and you know I just want to say if you get you know at least maybe one-minute conversation with him you leave with two either two responses number one I'm feeling passionate and excited and I'm just feeling like oh my gosh let's take over the world or you walk away thinking wow my spiritual life is feeling quite dull to a conversation with Duncan so Duncan carries passion and he's in love with Jesus you walk away from being around Duncan you're like I there's an anointing to be in love with Jesus and that is Duncan Duncan has a book called consumed by love incredible book we have it here in the bookstore at life-changing it's about the cross it's about oneness with Jesus it's about being in love with him really really good this is like a lot of Duncan's life in this book um so if you're like I want what he has why is he the way he is why is he passionate and head-over-heels in love with Jesus and get this book so without further ado feel free to stand on up we're gonna invite Duncan to the stage something that I love about us here at catch a fire is that John was never John are not he was John and Carol are not and I I just want to crack the ice to Duncan but Kate you coming up as well and this is who we are here at catch the fire we lead as a couple woman are honored they're they're like brought right alongside their husbands and so yeah thank you so much Mel thank you so much now you are even more beautiful than you were back then and you were very beautiful then I think I think that you you know Jonathas married you because you're beautiful but in his love you've become even more beautiful and that's true that's really true racism I did have braces and pimples and you know we did we never notice those things we look in your eyes we see Jesus God by every teenager is beautiful but you know it's so good to be here this is home this is second home we're Canadians any Canadians in the room well we just want him warming up any Americans in the house we're American too and any Brits in the house yeah we're British - so with triple citizens about that just go where Holy Spirit says go right but you know he's moving in this room he has been moving and we were just talking with Pastor John there and we don't think he's finished tonight who thinks that Holy Spirit isn't finished tonight yes you know we just wanna honor the anointing in this house and you know we're so blessed by that you know we've honored the anointing in this house for 25 years and Holy Spirit who knows he's transferable how many of you know that he's in our church in Raleigh he catched the fire in Raleigh he's there too and he's with you but you know we just feel like the the Holy Spirit fire hose needs to be on this evening and not taking off him and we just wanted to honor the work of the Holy Spirit in our school of ministry students where are you students just students okay I want you all to come up as you come up here to the front students come on up come on line up in the front right here gotta Baba can you just help her somewhere safe she's not safe right there how many of you know that if you still haven't caught fire you need to hang around with somebody come on you're taking ages come on oh yeah come on quick quick quick and so you're facing us something up on the line you're about to get filled with the Holy Spirit how many of you noticed that these students are full of fire and passion and they've only been here for about three weeks I believe okay so listen guys girls you are on fire and what we're gonna do we're gonna allow to spectate this evening we're gonna believe that as the Holy Spirit touches every student on this line that there's going to be a transfer of the anointing back into the room and for those watching verse one woo you can take your seats if you're standing unless you'd like to keep standing you're more than welcome to Acts chapter 19 and verse 1 and it happened everybody say and it happened and it happened say that with me over your own life and it happen what happened well whatever it was it was so important that dr. Luke wrote and it happened you know what I love about the holy spirit the Holy Spirit is the promised gift of the Father that the son promised and that the son through his life death burial resurrection ascension and glorification has made possible that what the father promised could be poured out onto all flesh are you flesh tonight [Applause] and it happened while a polis was at Corinth the Paul having passed through the upper regions came to Ephesus and finding some disciples are you a disciple tonight he said to them did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed now why would Paul open with that question did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed unless the implication was that it's possible for you to believe and yet not receive the Holy Spirit in the way that the Apostle Paul was talking about did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed I'm asking you that tonight [Music] [Applause] so they said to him we have not so much as even heared whether there is a Holy Spirit guys remember these were disciples everybody say disciples did you know that all over the world today there are quite literally hundreds of millions of disciples of Jesus Christ who have never heard that there is even a Holy Spirit in the way that Paul was referring to when he said did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed now I can speak with a certain degree of experience of this because I was born into an evangelical Christian family who were missionaries in Nigeria for 20 years my father was a wonder is a wonderful godly man of God who's devoted his entire adult life since he was born again Curtis boom you be a man of fire [Applause] fire on you [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] come on DeLand soaked you dad come on soak him don't let him out of here walking on his feet just may the Holy Spirit wreck you and fill you and cause you to be the glorious man of fire that you've always been created and called to be a gigantic revivalists in the spirit and may know we're in Toronto and know we're in Ontario and know we're in Canada and nowhere in the entire world no nation may the devil or his demons be safe in your presence [Applause] [Music] and my mum and dad my father was the first foreign missionary to lead them the mission which was a traditional very well known highly respected British missions known and respected all over the world my father was the very first foreign missionary to a point his successor an indigenous Nigerian man hallelujah and I thank God that my dad in the wisdom of the Holy Spirit did that because now the Church of that mission has 5 million members in northern and central Nigeria [Applause] [Music] but when I was a kid I was never taught about the person of the Holy Spirit we were never given the opportunity to be baptized with the Holy Spirit and Fire according to Luke 3:16 where John the Baptist said i baptize you with water yes unto repentance but there is someone coming after me something even better than repentance someone who's the fruit of repentance someone who came to make repentance something that would give you everlasting life not because you repented but because you believed in the finished work of Jesus Christ the only Savior you're not saved by your own efforts not to watch pornography and masturbation no you're saved by the precious blood of the Lamb you're saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ now having said that now that you're saved how do we know that you're saved because sin is abhorrent to you people often say to me is it possible pastor to be one saved and always saved is it possible to lose your salvation I believe that once you're saved you're always saved and how do we know that you're always saved them that you were once saved because you hate sin you can't stand it you'd you're troubled by it you're you're devastated by it you're you're weeping in the presence of God but none of those actions make you any more righteous than you already are in the blood of the Lamb the evidence of your salvation is your ongoing salvation how do you know that you were saved because you're being saved how do you know that you're going to be saved because you're being saved because you have the abiding presence of the say hey you the Savior is on the inside of you you know he's on the inside of you because what you used to do you can't do it anymore and feel comfortable I thank God that when I stand before G Jesus and when you stand before Jesus on that day and he says well done good and faithful servant enter into your rest he will give you that commendation for one thing and one thing alone you believed in him in his complete work for your life in your life through your life and that he is your only validate validation for eternity in the presence of God with him not not anything that you can boast in you know that passage that John Bevere gave us last night many will come to me in that day and say Lord Lord did we not cast out demons in your name did we not heal the sick in your name I was reading that I used to be very troubled by that because I'm somebody that's cast out demons not i but Christ in me I'm somebody that's healed the sick not i but Christ in me and I would be troubled by that how many of you've ever been troubled by that say Lord I that troubles me would you just open my understanding and one day the Holy Spirit opened my understanding he said to me Duncan their answer gave away their lack of understanding of their true salvation is not anything that they do when you stand before Jesus you're not gonna say anything except Lord Lord and that's it you're not gonna say did I not do this or did I not do that because there is no do that you can do it's just a bunch of doodoo their answer gave it all away it's like the rich young ruler what must I do to inherit the kingdom of heaven his question gave away his ignorance of all the people in the world that should have known better it was him and Jesus gave him an answer according to the stupidity of his question because he of all young of all people but what was he a rich young ruler who was very wealthy why was he so wealthy because he'd received an inheritance and you know what he did to receive that inheritance diddly-squat what must I do to receive eternal life answer sorry what must I do to inherit eternal life answer is rephrase the question into a Thanksgiving I thank you Lord that I do nothing for salvation because it's an inheritance by just believing the you have made me a son and because I'm a son I received and inheritance come on now preaching the gospel to you tonight it's not about what you've done and what you've not done Paul says in Galatians chapter 3 they're having a big argument about circumcision how many of you know that circumcision is a duh as something that you do or someone does to you you do not receive circumcision by inheritance it's not a grace it's an act of the law and I would imagine that Abraham as an adult man he felt it and Paul goes on to say does he who supplies the spirit to you and works among you does it do it does he do it because you observed the law no went Biff when you were observing the law there were no miracles there was no holy spirit no it's in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ that now you've become sons of God Galatians 3 verse 26 you've all become sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ and then he goes on to say in Galatians 4 verse 6 and now you have received the Spirit of the Sun on the inside of you and the spirit of the son cries out to you in you dad come on that's why masturbation and pornography is so uncomfortable when you're a son of the Living God because there you are in secret doing doing doing doing doing all encountered in historical paintings etc as a dove I didn't know that he was the person of love I didn't know that the father was the lover I didn't I didn't know that Jesus is the eternal beloved I didn't know that the love was the Holy Spirit who's eternally flowed between the father and the son between the lover and the beloved I didn't know that there's movement in love I didn't know that the father was constantly moving towards his son I didn't know that from all of eternity the father's been moving toward the sons been moving towards the father I didn't know that for all of eternity the love of the lover and the beloved has always been moving towards each other I didn't know that God dwell in the eternal whirlwind of the dance of love as CS Lewis said I didn't know those things I didn't know that God was a consuming fire because he's loved I thought he was a consuming fire because he was a terrible judge and my goodness he's a terrible judge to those who are bound in union to their sin but to those who receive the gift of his son his judgment has been forever settled through the mercy in the blood that pleads a better word than Abel that was shed on the cross by Jesus Christ for you and that blood pleads a better word over judgment and mercy triumphs over judgment in your life over and over and over and over and over and over and over and every time you stumble and every time you fall the mercy of God is pleading yes but yes but yes but they're perfect because of the blood they're perfect because of the blood they're perfect because of the blood the blood and the spirit working together testifying that you are already made perfect in the heavens and he said to them into what then were you baptized so they said into John's baptism now what was John's baptism everybody baptized into water for the repentance of sins look at this then Paul said John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him that is on christ jesus do you want to know why I'm constantly excited and you can ask my wife that I've pretty much been constantly excited for the last 31 years do you know why because I was such a profoundly dirty shameful rotten disqualified sinful rebellious man who should have known better because he had a phenomenal upbringing from parents who loved him and I had a vision in a dream where I went right into hell and it was the most terrifying vision and I woke up reach from on my cigarettes and ran outside and lit up a cigarette with great anxiety because it felt like forever I was trapped in this dream and I was in hell I couldn't see my body but I was burning on fire I'd the dream was that I had a plane it was in a plane crash hmm with my family my family were gone I was alone in this fire this just like just light white light fire that I felt like I was burning I could feel where my hands and legs were I couldn't see them I couldn't that there was no substance to them and yet there was complete substance I knew exactly where my foot was my hands were my chest was I was me in every way except I was in this burning burning burning burning it did I can't even describe to you excruciating Lee agonizingly desperate pain and suffering and then the worst thing of all was that I felt this deep deep deep deep aloneness that I just there just I could feel the person of aloneness himself and I was just screaming and suddenly I realized I was not alone at all and I could hear billions of screaming people and I realized suddenly that I was in hell and you know what I knew that I knew that I knew that I knew I deserved to be there and that I was nowhere near as nice as I thought I was and it wasn't long after that that I got radically saved and I got baptized in John's baptism in the sense that I got baptized into the name of Jesus into the water I went down into death with Christ I I came up I was buried with him I came up out with him I was now full of the Holy Spirit I was you know not not about his mastery but that was a testimony of what had happened but at my moment of conversion that had happened three months earlier I was full of the holy spirit on the inside I knew I had a burning excitement in me that had never been there before I knew the person of Christ was in me I knew that Colossians 1:27 was true Christ in me was the hope of glory I knew I'm on my way to heaven I knew that heaven had come to me I could feel heaven on the inside of me and I'd never by the grace of God doubted it ever since never doubted my salvation because it was not dependent on anything that I had done and was fully dependent on what he has done the thief on the cross all he did was acknowledge that he deserved to be there and Jesus didn't he realized that if Jesus didn't deserve to be there then he was not dying for his sin because this he was perfect a perfect man and he realized if he's a perfect man there's only God who's perfect he must be the perfect God man he must be perfectly God and perfectly man and if he's perfectly God and perfectly man and the wages of sin is death and he's never sinned yet he's dying that his death must be for me and he got it he got it and there he is few minutes earlier he but in solving Jesus oh if you're really the Christ get me down from this thing do you know that most Christians many Christians that have not met the Holy Spirit they don't know that Christ is on the inside of them they just said yes so they could go to heaven and like John was saying yesterday it's all about them but that's no different from the two thieves if you're really the Christ get me off this cross if you're really the Christ heal me of this cancer if you're really the Christ save my son if you're really the Christ give me a good-looking girlfriend if you're really the Christ get me out of this masturbation and pornography if you're really the Christ make me rich fix me get me out of my predicament it's all about me as if I should do things your way I mean okay I know I shouldn't some that look you know what I'm saved but not this thief he suddenly realizes he's my Savior the Holy Spirit came to him illuminated his heart remove the scales from his eyes of Moses and suddenly he could see that this man this perfect man that was dying was the King of glory he could see that they were in a split second after he died he would be facing this man this brutalized her losing hamburger meat man would be the majestic King of glory on his throne and he would have the rightful judgment as to whether or not he spent not death on a cross but eternity in a lake of fire for all of that sin and he said Jesus Yeshua Savior remember me when you come into your kingdom I know that you're a king the rightful king the only King and because you're the King you're the judge but I know that you're good and I can rely on you and I know that that world is connected to this world and you dying next to me will it's 100 percent connected to you being resurrected on the other side of that moment when you say it's finished and you breathe your last and what does Jesus say today today you'll be with me in paradise today you'll be with me in paradise how do you know that today you're in paradise because you are by the way you're already seated with Christ in heavenly places and see visions 2 verse 6 you're already there how do you know that you're already there there's only one way you could know and that's the Holy Spirit see because in John 7:37 38 and 39 Jesus cried out in a loud voice and he said if anybody's thirsty let him come to me and drink whoever believes in the out of his innermost being will flow rivers of living water welling up out into eternity he was speaking about the inner work of the Holy Spirit that's for you and for him that's your union spirit to spirit 1 Corinthians 6:17 he was joined himself the lord is one spirit with him that's why he could turn to the thief and say today you will be in paradise no today you'll be with me in paradise because you're going to be united to me and where I am you'll be and I'm the eternal I am I dwell in the everlasting now I am today and today you'll be with me in paradise I'm the eternal today come on and then each John goes on to say and by this the Holy Spirit but by this Jesus meant the Holy Spirit who'd not yet been given but later those would receive but had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified not crucified glorified not ascended glorified not buried glorified not risen from the dead glorified you see folks we need to understand that the baptism of the Holy Spirit upon you is what awakens you to the reality that Jesus is glorified and if Jesus is glorified then that means that you are truly there with him now in heaven because it would have been impossible for the father to glorify his son if he his son had not brought you with him [Music] [Applause] Hebrews 2 verse 10 says he led many sons to glory in his train how do we know that we're up in the heavens already how do we know that Jesus is glorified which is the evidence that we're in heaven with him how do we know that we know that because the father poured out the Holy Spirit oh gosh you guys are nowhere near excited enough I can't be preaching properly something's not right Lord they don't have it let me have a drink the Holy Spirit upon you is your living testimony evidence from God that you are truly seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus now that's why I get so excited about watching the evidences of the holy spirit moving among us all because the hope the evidences of the holy spirit moving among us all is the evidence that we're all already in the heavens we must be there because Jesus has been glorified and Jesus couldn't be glorified if he hadn't taken us with him some people are looking and go oh my gosh they're crying again but those guys are laughing and one of those guys do fallen and you know what I don't blame you if that's what you've been thinking because it looks crazy and I love what my pastor john arne has taught us all over the world the miracle is not that God touches you that's a miracle but the real miracle is that you got to live through it that you're still alive you survived to tell the tale not the tale to give testimony when Jesus rose from the dead the first thing one of the first things that he did with his disciples the eleven is he breathed on them and he said receive the Holy Spirit you just think about that moment for a moment I believe that was the moment that Peter James John Andrew and all of them were born again remember he breathed into Adam and Adam became a living being he breathed into them and said receive the Holy Spirit they breathed the Holy Spirit in them and they came alive they were born of the Spirit they were the first human beings ever in history to become born again can you imagine what that moment was Jesus says come here I probably imagine him rowing them all up and he says as the father sent me so now I send you think about this for just a moment if you're truly one with Christ which you are and you're already in the heavens but you're here on earth you're already full of the Holy Spirit you and the Holy Spirit are one Christ in you is the hope of glory you are truly as good news to the world as Jesus was at least in the father's eyes you are you're supposed to do your running your business I don't know maybe New York or somewhere New York State and you're running your business and all your employees they're the most blessed people in the whole wide world do you know why because Jesus owns that business through you you've got as much access to all the realm of the Spirit that Jesus had you've got access to the infinite treasure of the Father just like Jesus had you've got the spirit just like Jesus had why because you and Christ are one now but if you don't believe it and you don't live in it you'll live a life that's just so far below your full potential here on earth you say Eve don't get me wrong you're safe you're just not going to be fruitful you might be fruitful in all your ways but will you be fruitful in all his ways do you know what the scariest thing about being a pastor is for me when we move down to Raleigh it suddenly occurred to me the most terrifying thing possible for me as a as a leader of a church is that I can do it without Jesus do you know that there are churches mega churches small churches medium churches large churches and all of the team they're all doing it without much help from the Holy Spirit at all and it's it's to the world it looks amazing you can run your business without the Holy Spirit and it will look amazing you can do all sorts of things without the Holy Spirit and be amazing because human beings are amazing but the only thing that's amazing to God is what the Holy Spirit does through us and in us and I don't know about you but I don't want to be amazing to man I want to be amazing to God I want to live a life that's worthy of Christ Jesus and pleasing to him in every good work if I was a budding filmmaker I'd want to make movies with the Holy Spirit it wouldn't make me into a multi-millionaire in souls as well as money Chikara by Paul said John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him that is on christ jesus and when they heard this they were baptized in the name of the lord jesus and you know what if you look around the church today you would think that the story ended there it did for us on the mission field and it very often does even in our church if we're not constantly reminding ourselves to make room for the Holy Spirit you can stop right there and be an amazing teacher and live a life a selectra a professor a businessperson a doctor a dentist a lawyer a mom at home a dad at home a student in university you can do life with Christ on the inside of you for you and for him and leave it there you can do that and you know what you'll still produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit love joy peace patience kindness goodness gentleness faithfulness self-control you'll still produce all of those you know why it's not your fruit it's the fruit of the Holy Spirit you tried producing patience or self-control you'll get constipation but if you let the Holy Spirit on the inside of you produce his fruit in you yeah now we're talking you can be changed especially if you allow the Holy Spirit to shine the light on your heart and all your wrong reactions and you take time to get healed up from life's hurts I just had seven hours of trauma counseling on Monday seven hours of trauma counseling on Monday and I've already had I don't know how many different varieties of healing life's hurts that there are out there I've had so sir I've had heart sing I've had RTF I've had international leader schools and ministry one month schools here and you know all of it has been so transformative all of it has been in across some context for the Holy Spirit to do what's pastor Steve long was talking about on the first night Wednesday night seems a long time ago already and he was preaching on Simon the sorcerer why because although I had the Holy Spirit on the inside of me my heart was still bound up with the search for significance with with upsets with the way people would behave they need to control people they need to get my own way my reactions instead of being able to be a man of peace and now my goodness I feel so dangerous after my trauma counseling see I went to boarding school when I was five and three-quarters everybody saw my parents twice a year as a kid growing up until I was 11 then they sent me to boarding school in the UK having been in it in an American boarding school where I had an American accent can you believe that yes when I was 11 I spoke like a a Yankee after fifth grade I sounded like I was from Alabama because my fifth grade teacher missed nah she don't like there so I came home I said hi mama hot daddy I got to English boarding school everybody was like hello [Laughter] what's your name I'm Duncan baby I'm Duncan it didn't last very long first of all you don't tell them your first name you're known by your last name so from the age of 12 to Lars 18 I was known as Smith Smith it just doesn't have a very gentle kindly ring to it does it Smith and every time they would call me out you know Angus Douglas Bader sir Gaines bathrooms dyed Donegan cross sir Duncan Smith seriously we weren't over this yesterday didn't we feel like a commoner whenever you call my name out I had trauma count I had trauma counseling cuz I had a lot of trauma some serious trauma 13 years of boarding school affected me and I'm so glad I got free of so much on Monday so glad so glad and now the Holy Spirit's able to flow through me even more powerfully now I feel even more confident not in myself but in Christ who dwells in me I feel the love and the affection of the Father constantly my butterflies that I had in my stomach have left me I didn't realize that all of you or many of you spend life without butterflies in your stomach I just thought that having butterflies in your stomach was part of being a human being I didn't realize that I was walking around with subterranea butterflies of anxiety in my stomach that any minute now you would reject me and abandon me and put me out of the social circle because that's what happened to me when I was 5 years old and so I'd do everything that I could to make sure that I didn't get chucked out of the family and you know what made me really decide that I'm for sure for sure for sure gonna bring up a bunch of stuff to this but now let me say to get I what made me realize what I wanted to bring up in this trauma counseling is that about three weeks earlier three weeks ago I said to my wife honey now bearing in mind that my wife and I are the presidents of catch the fire world okay a movement full of churches not only that with the senior leaders of the church that we planted catch the fire rally okay which is you know 650 odd people on a Sunday in about a thousand members according to the giving units my brother told me the other day so you know see a few people there is what I mean by that and I said to my wife one Sunday morning three weeks ago honey I suddenly realized um Jeff like butterflies in your stomach nope I do in fact if I'm really honest I don't want to go to church I don't want to be part of it because there's people there and I'm gonna be standing there on the front row and everybody's gonna be looking at me I'm gonna have to say hi to everybody and I love saying hi to everybody but but what if I do something wrong I might get disliked by them I might lose my place then I won't belong if I didn't belong I'll be abandoned so I realized I've been carrying those butterflies my entire life every Sunday morning since I was 5 years old I'm so pleased to tell you everybody I'm delivered [Applause] feel the holy spirit instead of butterflies I feel his presence I feel how much he loves you Curtis I feel how much he loves you everybody feel it feel how much he loves you Mike he's crazy about you you were one of his all-time favorite sons and whom he's well pleased I'm so glad that Luke doesn't finish it and when they heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus and then he says and when Paul had laid hands on them the Holy Spirit came upon them and they spoke with tongues and prophesied and then look at verse 7 now there were about 12 in all guys this is one of my favorite passages of all scripture you know why because Paul sorry excuse me Luke takes time to tell us that Paul did not stop baptizing them in the name of Jesus Christ may all of Canada and all of America discover that God does not want to stop at the point of being baptized into the name of Jesus Christ Jesus is the way Jesus is the door jesus is our Savior and we're in him but it's unto the father by the Holy Spirit that mix doesn't make Jesus any less important than the Holy Spirit in fact he's the one who said it's better that I go because if I go I'm gonna send the counselor you're gonna have me on the inside of you instead you know acts 16 verse 7 the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Jesus it says the Spirit of Jesus would not let them into Asia the spirit of Jesus in in Matthew 5 sorry 10 verse 20 Jesus says the spirit don't worry about what you're gonna say on that day when you stand before all the public what Evers don't worry about what you're gonna say in that day because the Spirit of your father will give you the words to say you see you need to understand that to have the Holy Spirit in you is to have Jesus in you is to have the father in you God is one God revealed in three persons and when you get each of those three persons any one of them you get all three persons all at once and if you can't work that out welcome to eternity if you ever do work God out whatever you do get rid of him he's not the real one why would we ever appoint ourselves as a self-appointed expert in God I think the moment you appoint yourself as a self-appointed expert in God you just showed the world that you are probably a long way from God God is an expert in you you are not an expert in him you probably never will be he'll always be a mystery that's what makes him so amazing and you know what I love about this is that he didn't stop with the Holy Spirit in them because the Apostle Paul knew that there's at least two works of the Holy Spirit he knew that they've now got the Holy Spirit in them just like the Apostles did when Jesus breathed on them in John 20:21 he breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit by the way what do you think that looked like I think that that looked like chaos that's what I think I think that when the when the Son of God freshly raised from the dead in his resurrection body breathes on you and says receive the Holy Spirit you probably will manifest I don't think you'll have time to go ooh thank you very much hey Pete yeah John how was it warm and now to use a word that will freak out every millennial and Gen Z moist come on everybody you're probably on the floor shaking just like all of these guys were messed up for hours but then he says to the same disciples who taught the Apostle Paul wait in Jerusalem until you receive power from on high wait in Jerusalem Luke 24:49 wait for the promise of the Father wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father and then you'll be my witnesses in Jerusalem Judea Samaria in the ends of the earth you see right now you've got the Holy Spirit in you for you but if you need it for you to win the world you're gonna need the anointing of the Holy Spirit on you for the world and he told the same disciples who had the Holy Spirit in them there's something more there's something more there's something more there's always something more there's always something more you know anybody who turns around and gives you a theology that you've got everything in the you shouldn't say more Lord is somebody who's got very little you know why I know that because if they've got anything that's remotely glorious they'll want more it's just the nature how do you know when somebody really doesn't have something when they tell you don't ask for more how do you know when somebody's really got something that's of great value and of great worth and they can't live without it they want more [Music] not more on the inside you've already got enough welling up for eternity that's what anchors your faith that you can ask for more we're not asking for more for salvation we're not asking for more because suddenly the Holy Spirit sneaked out of us have read reigned and now we're all exhausted and we need to have more know there's a place that you can live in perfect rest from the inside out do not minister from the inside out minister from the outside on through the anointing that you carry are you following me from the inside out is for you and God but for everyone else in the world other than enjoying the fruits of the spirit for everyone else for you to be an effective witness for you to actually be able to say something that testifies about God for you to actually say something or do something that makes somebody on the outside of you one God one Jesus one who you're carrying you got to be anointed you got to carry glory you've got to have the spirit of glory resting upon you 1 Peter 4:14 do not be upset because you're insulted for Christ for that is the evidence of the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you spear of glory everybody resting upon you Christ in you the hope of glory your salvation the spirit of glory on you for the world to discover that they too can have Jesus on the inside of them and how because you end up doing miracles signs and wonders that everyone yourself included knows you didn't do them the spirit of glory resting on you has done all of those works all of them all of them all of them all of them all of them all of them Galatians 2 verse 13 but it's God who works in you to will and to do according to his good pleasure in you it's not even you do you know that you can even obey God's will and act on that obedience yourself it takes God at work in you to will and to do according to his good pleasure not yours but his stand everybody let's stand come on were how many 12 within their generation guess how big the church was from those 12 men that Paul left filled with Jesus and the hands laid on with the Holy Spirit on them the Holy Spirit in them the Holy Spirit on them guess how many there were 12 guess how many there were at the end of their generation one generation in one generation 40,000 church members in Ephesus let me tell you something right now when they heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus if Paul had left them like that do you honestly think that they would have torn down artemis diana the most one of the centers of the worship of the Queen of Heaven one of the most satanic strongholds in the known world at that time a center of great evil on the earth and she was she was disempowered dethroned and chased out by the Apostle Paul and his friends his 12 baptized in the Holy Spirit friends and they did it with power the Bible goes on to tell us that great miracles the Holy Spirit was upon Paul so powerfully that you could take your fingers away from your ears now because you're looking a little funny Paul the Bible goes on to tell us later on in the same chapter that such extraordinary works were being done by the Holy Spirit through Paul that even his handkerchiefs there he is working as a tentmaker and it's so hot in Ephesus I've been there and I and he's like and he put the rag down put the rag down put the rag down and there's people there when was the last time an item of your clothing was stolen from you by somebody who is hungry enough to place a demand on the anointing that you carry that's soaked and saturated in your sweat and in your body because if it hasn't happened to you yet there's more for you that's more than you can carry your shadow was created by God the dynamic of the shadow was created by God so that a generation would have faith that even God could fill my shadow oh gosh I could preach all night until someone falls out of some window and we have to raise him from the dead and then carry on preaching but I how many of you your hearts have been burning while I've been preaching just burning just burning okay I don't want you to leave this place tonight without having hands laid upon you and without you receiving the Holy Spirit afresh I don't think there's anything more sad than somebody who says well ours baptized and the Holy Ghost in 1973 yes sir well there's nothing wrong with that as long as they could say and again in 1973 and again in 1974 and 1975 I took my eyes off the Holy Spirit I dried up for a little while but 1976 I was so hungry I just came back and then I went into ten years of not really realizing that there's more and then it got into the 80s and then in 1994 I went to Toronto and I was never the same again and I came back every year over and over and over again and not because I needed to but just because I wanted to I thank God that there's more don't ever let anybody tell you there isn't if they do just say you know what someone without experience is not really trustworthy yet I'm not gonna listen to you I'm going for more and when you get before Jesus on Judgment Day and he shows you all the things that could have been possible if only you'd ask for more can't show you all the things you did wrong they've been wiped away as from the as far as the East is from the West that's gone but what if he did show you all the things that you could have done with him just to show you how great he is not to condemn you just to show you how gradients I don't want to stand there on judgments a day and say but Lord my pastor told me this I can't ask for more that they're wrong in Toronto and that I shouldn't ask for more and you're looking go careful what you believe everybody Amen all right how are we gonna do this Jonathas I think I'd like the prayer ministry team because to be the ones who lay hands on you because you know listen to me just for a moment come on up Jonathas or whoever who's coming up Jonathan says he isn't you tonight now were you gonna come up okay you know over and over and over and over and over and over again we've heard testimony especially from pastors somehow or other the Lord just know knew and knows what to do with pastors how to reach them but over and over and over again their testimony about their time in Toronto would go like this I got here I was super dry I realized I was super critical I got in touch with that because I criticized everything that I saw in my heart I thought well we do that better and our we're so much better why are you do the preaching is lousy here and you know what I just I mean we're just so much better in lots and lots of ways and then they'll get over that and they'll be on the prayer line they'll be like okay here comes I know I'm gonna wait for John Arnott to pray for me oh wait a minute John Arnott's going out the door the opposite direction oh no and then they'll have this in a voice of the Holy Spirit but you really came for me didn't you that's right so now they find themselves glued to the floor and they're waiting and they see God moving and he's moving powerfully through all these people that they never had eyes for didn't realize that God can use any little donkey any person like me and nine times out of a 10 they say this I'm just guessing at that statistic but they'll say something is and their little old lady came and stood in front of me and she was about this high and she looked up at me I could remember Frank DiMaggio saying this and I can say this because I heard this publicly in England at a huge conference with one in 6,000 people and this little Chinese lady this tall looked up at me and she said you there any dry pastoring a church of several thousand people on the west coast he's thinking you're the smallest rudest lady I've ever met I don't know if he was I'm just making that bit up she says I come back you stay here so I come back she comes back an hour later you still very dry goes away again all of a sudden the Holy Spirit starts to work show him his heart show him the truth show me exactly how right she was he just began to weep weep weep and sure enough she came back ah you ready now [Applause] [Music] [Applause] are you guys excited for it what for this importation and prayer school of ministry students you guys rushed to the back right now we're gonna open lines and and the rooms are open already so feel free to think calendar room right at the back if this is your first time if you go right into those rooms there's lines that you can stand on and those guys are gonna start to pray for you right now as you get there we also have worship going on in the back both feel free to just go and pursue more the the encounter room is just open until late at night so feel free for you to just stay soaking in the presence for as long as you want for the rest of you we love you guys it's been an absolutely blast being here with you guys and I just prayed that the
