These hands, oh my god, what is going on? Hey guys, welcome to another episode of RossDraws and welcome to the fan redraw episode. Yes! This is what my favorite series to do, because I love bringing your drawings and characters to life. And i'm sure you guys know My book NIMA is finally available for pre-order. I've been working on this for years I'm, so proud of it, and these are the two covers This is the original and the alternate eclipse cover and anyone who orders during this pre-order period gets this print called "Spirits" It's of Nima and Faye, I think it's super pretty and that's enough self-promotion Let's get into this fan redrawing episode! For every fan Redraw, I asked you guys to submit your drawings, your original characters And i'm always so blown away with the talent my community has and it breaks my heart, but can only choose one and the winner is - _dramie_ and their character Neola who's a witch. She looks so cool and I cannot wait to redraw all this in my own style So let's get into it! RossDraws - redrawing a fan drawing! This is _dramie_'s character Neola who's a super awesome witch and I wanted to learn more about her character! I messaged _dramie_ And this is what they said: Neola is super connected to nature. She lives off the grid and she conjures potions Oh, that's awesome. She's kind and welcoming and she helps out animals and strangers She has electrical powers and she uses it to power her house Wow, that's a cheap electricity bill. I'm jealous, and she can also revive and communicate to the dead It seems like one side. She kind of like the modern day Noah's ark, she's very caring, creates potion cares about animals and on the other side - She has electrical powers, She can revive the undead. Between these two sides, I want to focus more on her lightning and that color dodge Magic, I feel like I can do a really good job with this dynamic illustration. So yeah, let's bring her to life! Awesome. So I kind of want like a very dynamic illustration. Maybe she'd like - this is her head. She has this cool hair She's like kind of dancing dynamically casting her spells I really like this bow here, i'm going to try to just add it on the back real quick like a kibono I'm going to drop this down, refine my drawing a little bit Oh, she's looking good, all right getting somewhere And then, you know, let's add some lightning powers This is the line so far, now i'm going to add some quick color You ready for this? lightning power! nice It's gonna take me a while to figure out What is going on with this anatomy? Maybe Neola can help me pay for my electricity bill, because this piece gonna take forever All right, maybe not. Let's keep working on this. I have a second pen here and i'll check back soon! Hey guys, welcome back! Here's the progress of Neola so far. These hands.. Oh my god, what is going on? She is... She's on star trek or something (live long and prosper) Let's quickly check how high our electricity bill is We need to finish this thing. I think this is a great opportunity for me to show figuring out this piece I usually don't do back shots and I feel like us as artists, Sometimes we have go-to's and that's completely okay I mean I have usually the same pose and portrait sketch after sketch after sketch But from time to time I think challenging yourself and getting outside Your comfort zone is extremely important as a growing artist for Nima, you know It was a narrative art book and believe it or not. There's actually more male characters than female characters in Nima! I know, right?! Yeah, I think it's looking really good. So i'm gonna try to wrap it up before my electricity gets shut off All right, let's check on our electricity bill This piece is probably one of the hardest pieces i've drawn, it's like a back shot It is like kimono, all the fold... i'm struggling but I welcome the challenge because i'm growing as an artist _dramie_ told me a little bit about Neola's moves. And so I thought we could generate some move names. We have our infamous Anime Power Generator! I love creating move sets for character. And I thought it's fitting that we create an awesome move set for Neola so let's pick lightning, electricity and Death, because she communicates with the undead. You ready? Let's do it! Fatal bolt. All right. This is like a level one move, you know shoot a bolt that's fatal Thor Spark! Oh snap! Pulse charged charge, a charged Pulse charge that charges and pulses Voltage Bane inhumation It sounds like an ultimate that does something So that's Neola's moveset. We have fatal bolt, thor spark, pulse charged charge, voltage bane Inhumation, I think it's looking really good so far, so i'm gonna wrap it up and then pay my electricity bill! My electricity!!
