hi I'm Guy Fieri and we're rolling out looking for America's greatest diners drive-ins and dives Apetit this trip that is fantastic ma'am places I love this little place can't wait better off in Kansas City check your attitude at the door the place to go for Gator top pizza like being in grade school cheese steaks like they make oven filling how could eat right there ma'am and fresh well at sculpture they're making out back that's crazy a California joint by the water I wondered where I had parked by four boats where they're lining up oh it's so worth it for something called show cheese miss oh no in Michigan a place called the Fly Trap where this wow it's got great spice is diner cooking lizard ooh gorgeous TV kitchen and off the hook in Chicago the barbecue comes to you I think you can stand up next to some of the big boys let's go barbecue thank you that's all right here right now on diners drive-ins and dives when I say Kansas City you're probably thinking steak or barbecue but not on this trip today I'm thinking something else like an old auto parts store turned restaurant run by a transplant in the East Coast or sculptor with a place and the food are both off the hook a place like right check your attitude at the door as well we say hey up death wings holding down his name is stretch a very big man he owns the place I'm the guy that colors outside the lines British Army helmet circa nineteen forty three he's different and he's got an off the hook way of doing just about everything you did that backwards opponents however I want to do it the beer tower it's a breathing tank for oxygen yeah stretch if I'd yeah what stress the food is stretch delicious there you go the pizza of homemade I love the spot from classic dictator duck and it's like being increased cheesesteak stretch and sister better than the ones he grew up with I'm familiar yeah I think I can make a cheesesteak right right go tomorrow hot wings that'll put you down for the count yeah eyeballs are sweating in a hundred-year-old building with food in the front and monster metal sculptures in the back about 24 feet tall is about 9,000 pounds that's crazy no crazier the stretch deciding it makes perfect sense for a sculptor to open a restaurant art like like music crosses all cultural boundaries it does this place is just all that put together dismissed and mashed and tossed okay that's our pie right there starting entirely from scratch just work the fingers and divot get all the mayor bubbles out I gotta tell you put more time into one skin than I see most people put into the whole pizza you see this thing I can almost see oh I can't wait to have this I say we make our famous Bengal tiger why'd you call it Bengal tiger you know we got this chicken in there and the tandoori sauce it's got curry in it and stuff like that little pests who goes down that's a little pesto we sprinkle on our tandoori chicken curry little curry on there now how does this go over here and in the heart of the beef lamb this is one of our favorite pizzas people love it it's even got a little crab on it and hearts of palm because I often when I'm thinking pizza I'm thinking hearts of palm and we sprinkle a little more cheese on top and that's about it right there hey that is gorgeous just one chopped cilantro just rip it in there a little bit like the Bengal tiger wow that's like a all Calypso jazz band festival funkalicious delicious you get like these gems little hearts of palm a little bit of the chicken some crab it's the yin and the yang of pizza it really works it'll make anything work I love it because you can kind of specially order it like you get your own spice sighs what's on it in any combination so gonna put some salmon on here now like smoked salmon and cream cheese on pesto wow that's no joke there's one with spinach peppers artichokes olives and almonds four kinds together with the pepperoni next to the fine Apple and this baby that makes you wonder why no one ever did it before the chili and the onions fresh cut onions a surprise in the Tator time so this pie actually has a whole lot of center then we put tater tots in the middle put chili on top of it cheese whiz on top of that and only put some green onions on top of that look tasty chili food is always just gravy and well stretch started this as an artist not a chef is just like you're a little mini art gallery that changes people bring us stuff then that's what I like about it when it comes to the food he got real serious real quick yeah had a friend who went to New York of the Culinary Institute up there and he came back and helped me open a restaurant so a lot of the recipes are derived from his and you know is nice why you really got some trueCaller I found a yeah but there's also the stuff it's stretch brought to the party I used to live in Philadelphia and there's the first place it's exactly the same as I remember from back home the secret is definitely seasoning the grill beforehand and we've thrown bacon on there all day long and cheesesteaks so it's gonna be fine so the nice lean roast beef we use chopped it up the other secret is slicing the bun you don't want to go all the way through that first first and put a little onions on there we mix it in there put my cheese whiz on there that's a Philly cheesesteak in Kansas City she gonna have to eat that's tasty that's good eats right there ma'am and as soon as you think you got a bag Reinders throws you another curveball no one the best things you got here is George I'm Hungarian delight on Monday the Hungarian delight do you officially work here or is this kind of just like community service Georgia stretches long time friend a retired restaurateur who comes in once a week to do Hungarian specialties like chicken paprikash excellent so you've known to come here for this we got some onions going right there chili flake yeah Hungarian paprika yes now you see how very carefully I naturally think yeah oh good Oh real technical tomato juice put the chicken in thank you how long's I go about an hour just before it's done George tosses in some mushrooms and then I always put Parmesan cheese on it will this do that is fantastic ma'am there's such a great big flavor no wonder everybody comes on Mondays okay artistic unusual friendly places we can get a really great piece very eclectic atmosphere we came from the other side not from the culinary background we don't know what's right and what's wrong but we know what we like and we try and put it into the in acts and the place that we all want to go and hang out we're heading west the Long Beach California edible scenery way food turn off the hook specialty called shultiess mess all down not two minutes no and one of my favorite weekend hangout
