Concealer Hack That Will Change Your Face! | Christen Dominique

let me fill this in really quick little bald moment i mean for us i mean it's real life hey guys i'm really excited for this video because i'm gonna be showing you a concealer hack that is going to hit that notification bell so you'll be a part of the dom fam and without further ado let's get into this video so i already did my eyes and everything because it's not about the eyes it's about the face today i don't have any makeup on my face but i do want to show you my skin prep for concealer before i start i think this is so important this is a step that i haven't included before this technique was definitely not made by me i did not create this technique i'm not really sure who created this i know a bunch of artists do this and it really really works especially for me if you know who created it definitely put it in the comments below to give them credit so the first step for my skin is to use a toner i'm using the hourglass equilibrium and i'm just putting it on a little reusable pad and i make sure that my skin is completely clean it doesn't have to be this hourglass one it can be whichever one that you like another really good toner that i have at home is from augustine bader augustus bader i got augustine baiter it's the exfoliating toner it's a little pricey but it's really awesome it's so good this one is really soft and more restoring it's an essence and it just leaves my skin feeling a lot more hydrated after you cleanse you want to make sure to prime the face depending on the skin type that you have your primer is going to be different so i have very dehydrated skin i have divots in my skin so i want to make sure that my skin is hydrated and smooth so for that i use the blur moisture primer from dominique cosmetics this is really a beautiful moisturizer you can really use this on its own and it's a serum primer so it's very thin and weightless at the same time it does have a blurring benefit to it so this is what i use i haven't put it on my hands like i want this in like a huge body lotion because this is absolutely amazing the only thing with this is that it's made especially for makeup so once it dries down it's going to give you like a tacky feeling so that anything that you put on top of it is going to really stay in place so i put that on all over my face very evenly and since today we are focusing like i want my eyes to look extra smooth i'm gonna go in with an eye cream i don't do this all the time but when i want a little something extra like today and i really want it to look amazing under the eyes i use an eye cream so the eye cream that i'm using today is from biosans it's the squalane and peptide eye gel so i'm gonna take a little bit of that in my fingers and press it into my under eyes skin prep is so essential for a good makeup application so i didn't want to skip this on you guys i want to give you as much info as possible so that your makeup looks the best as possible so now we have our skin nice and hydrated so now we're going to go ahead and even the skin before concealer if you don't have to actually put on any foundation i just kind of want to even my skin tone out so i'm going to do that really quick i'm going to use the beauty blender bounce foundation i'm in the shade 330 so i'm just gonna pop that on really quick just a little side note for you if you haven't tried the uve beauty sponge you guys are missing out it's so amazing and it is super soft on the skin i actually gravitate towards this more than the beauty sponge i love the beauty blender but this sponge is so soft and the texture of the actual sponge is just so gentle on my skin i'm gonna avoid my under eyes because i want you to get a real good feel for how this technique works out and just the side note if you want to avoid looking cakey at all cost do not put foundation under your eyes only use concealer you want it to look as smooth and soft as possible so i just put it on my face so that i'm even like so so now i'm just going to contour the outer perimeter of my face and my nose and i'll be right back to show you the concealer trick okay we're back my face is contoured and i put a little blush on but i look sick because my under eyes are still dark so this next tip is for those of you who have really dark deep under eye circles mine are hereditary everyone in my family has deep dark under eye circles they're deep set they're purpley brownish red i mean everybody has them so what i would suggest is for you guys to color correct not with the lipstick not with like a blush which you can do but i'm gonna actually use a color corrector this one is from nars it's their radiant creamy color corrector in the shade medium i also use light peach but this one is the one that i had on hand so i just take a little bit and this also helps from creasing so i just take a little bit like a the tiniest bit on the actual under eye circle to counteract that purpley blue depending on how deep your skin tone is you might want to go for more of an orange or red if you're more on the deep end if you're a lighter you want to go with a light peachy a salmon pink things like that i'm just gonna let this sit on my eye for a second and then i'm gonna go in with my beauty sponge and just tap it in place and it's gonna help really color correct the darkness under your eyes you can see already helped just make my skin look even it looks completely even if you don't have super deep dark under eye circles just like a little tint there skip this step but if you are doing this step what this means is that you can use less concealer so you can use a lighter hand if you want to now that we are nice and even you see how big of a difference that that made and it's only a little dot you don't really need much but it still looks like deep set so that's what we're gonna fix we're gonna give the eye an illusion that you don't have these deep dark under eye circles and that you are a little bit lifted so for that get your concealer that's one to two shades lighter than your skin tone because you want to brighten the area go in with the jouer one i'm gonna take this side as the new side like the new updated technique so here we go what i'm gonna do is take this concealer start at the inner corner and just go straight down like that it's kind of overlapping the nose a little bit so it's going to help with that contour as well make your nose a little bit more snatched and then we're going to go ahead and go right here that's going to lift the eye and then what i like to do here if your mouth is a little darker on the ends have these brown lines this technique is going to help a lot just do that and trust me let it sit there for a second this area just helps to i mean we all know this brightening this area just adds more dimension and gives us like a beautiful awake lively look so i'm gonna go there and then i'm gonna go right on the nose bridge we all know this if you're new here it's gonna help your nose look like a little tiny button i'm gonna let that sit for a second and i'm gonna do the other eye with the old way of doing our makeup we have been doing this for so long and we know and we love it there's a lot of coverage it's very brightening and this is what we knew what we loved but now we're really just focusing on the areas that really need the work this is one smooth event area and this one is more targeted toward the areas that you really want to improve so i'm gonna just mist my face really quick and i'm using this pur haze mist it's like a cbd facial setting spray so once that dries down a little bit i'm gonna blend it in instead of using a beauty blender to blend everything in use a brush because you want to target the areas and keep that area really focused and brighten i'm using this brush from zoeva or zoeva it's the 110 face shape and i'm just going in and softly patting my brush in and just kind of moving it back and forth kind of patting and like rolling up the brush a little bit to blend everything in and that's what you want to do and then after that i'll go in and pat this this line right above as a guide eventually you're going to blend it out but this is your guide to where you need to stay in so if you used this automatically you would remove that line it defeats the purpose of using this technique so some of you may think my eyes are too dark that's just like i can't do it it's because you need to use a brush to try it out so use a brush if you've done this technique before and it hasn't worked and you used only the beauty blender or a beauty sponge try an actual brush go ahead and blend everything very softly with a beauty sponge you'll see the difference and then i'm going to go back in this is a little too big for me for that area so i'm going to go in with something smaller this is a zoeva concealer buffer brush and you want to pat it so pat it because if you move it back and forth it's just going to move it around instead of blending it in to the skin so pat it in pat and kind of drag obviously you kind of have to drag a little bit if you want to bring it up a little higher on the nose you can but that's basically my eye completed i'm going to now like blend in this area of the face without going outside of those lines to really enhance that area that i'm trying to enhance so for this i'm just going to go very lightly and pat now i'm going to go in this on top of the nose and now that you're done with all of that then you're going to take your beauty sponge and just make sure that everything the lines are soft and you don't want to completely blend away anything you just want to make sure nothing is like super harsh and that is this side right here it's very soft lifted and still brightened and then here's this side the side that we're used to we used to just go in with a sponge and blend it in which got the entire area brightened flattened out smoothed out but you know that's just like the older technique and i honestly am not mad at the way this looks i always really love a nice bright under eye but i also really love the natural dimension of my face kind of showing if i want to every day like transforming my face but still looking natural this is more wearable more doable for every day for me in my personal opinion you guys let me know which side you really i've really got into this technique and it's really helped to make my face look lifted healthier and just better and so i'm really happy with this technique i'm going to show you how to set it now i use a translucent powder you can use any one that you like i like this one doesn't have flashback what i do now is i'll take a brush like this this is from it cosmetics doesn't have a name on it it's called a highlight brush but i i like this brush to set the under eye i'm just going to take a little bit of powder pat the excess off what i'm going to do is just pat this in i'm not using a lot of powder because i don't want it to get cakey i just want to set it there and it might brighten it up a little bit more actually powder everywhere that you put the brightener so that it doesn't move see here there's no creasing there's no fine lines it's just smooth lifted and just beautiful skin that's why i like this side now for me it just looks better overall for me so i'm gonna use the older technique we'll call it the older technique i would get a damp beauty sponge which still works really well but i take you know a pretty good amount to bake under the eye and press it into the skin i mean it's flawless honestly there there's nothing wrong with it i just can see my creasing under my eyes and i can see like my pores even more i'm actually going to go zoom in really close to this so you can see what i'm talking about because the lights of my camera make my face look better than what it actually looks to be honest so you can see the creasing here and right in here my pores just look even more porous and the creasing under my eyes is really intense makes me look a little grandmaish and this side is just youthful it's hydrated it just looks so much better porcelain doll vibes natural glowy skin pick your favorite so this is the final look i'm going to zoom out now so you have to look at my pores i'm gonna do a side by side comparison once again i feel like i've been doing that this whole entire video but i just want you guys to really see the true difference in my face so you can see the lifting that's happening here versus here you guys decide this actually from far looks amazing smooth like porcelain doll but up close it it just looks like a lot of makeup so yeah i really like this because it looks good close up and far away if you guys have any comments or
