let's get my price on it it's a decent John Deere steam to trans flat in the front takes probably just been sitting out in a weather forever it's like Mouse nests are all in it a sneak lived in it turns what do you think the candidates uh resurrect possibly even get the key I have my truck with me right now let me go see if I can go push it out back I'll come back and get it hey guys how's it going welcome back this is a part tube of this John Deere 160 that somebody put out last video we got the engine running went through the carb let's switch issues to make sure we able to get the turn with the key which we did and that was about it so we're gonna continue carrying that torch forward between the last video and this one one thing I did when you guys run around was it took it out pressure washed it about a day or so ago got all the mouse crap and all the other debris out of it give us a little bit easier machine to work on that and the rear chin was off I took that same to that and painted that so that when we were reassembling it we're not getting our finger prints all or tacky wet paint kind of thing we got more stuff to figure out what's going on with it let's get the ball rolling start wrenching so a couple things I'd like to look into one being the rear end make sure that it has all the gears in the rear differential and also if you start looking into the mower deck and see what kind of shape the mower deck itself is in maybe up on those two items make sure that we're not dealing with a money pit and having to go spend a ton of money on it if so we'll change our plans on the direction we go with it if not we'll keep moving forward with a bring it back to life see we Jack the rear end up off the ground and we should be able to kind of run it through the years and at least make sure that it's locked up low to you now it's an open differential so one tires going to spin the opposite direction but we should show your ring so they both turn I would call that neutral hopefully that's reverse gear [Music] whatever it is seems like it has whole years we're happy with that let's go take a quick peek at the mower deck and see what's going on with condition of that it's got a nice thick set of blades on it see a bunch of white corrosion though that might be yeah that sounds great got a grease fitting but I have a feeling the corrosion is probably seeing a little housing and the steel the aluminum in the steel we get a beater of some so I'll give her a couple whacks you can free it up as you might be better off just pulling the whole deck right off of there so you've got a pin here sure the same on the other side and what is this what is this doing is that doing anything see one two it's gotta be 1/2 point of the two points out front those two are friends I'm get them off get that direct deck yeah the deck dropped down and get it out of our way be easier to work on flipped over so you can get that belt out of there it's gonna rusted in place for a while I once a doesn't even sit in 10-15 years know just gotta get it out of there let you see if you elevate the whole thing slide out the back [Music] there is two more arms right it's been there a while other things good expensive item that we should check is the condition of that electric pto make sure that still works is he game moving out of them see a rust hole in the deck here you'll see in a minute you see the crap actually coming out of the bottom of it and so so the berries may be okay let the just a corrosion on the aluminum plus I'm sure if we flip it over the belt wherever we're sitting on the police car has a bunch of rust underneath it too we get her flipped over please keep that tilted up yes everything at one time looked you guys up what fire - yeah sure that stick is not helping things any yeah why just take that right off me one of them pulleys he's not liking it yeah I would say I just broke that tensioner and that usually has a lever just already in the loose position you can't it's over here in the right hand side there's a lever that I can get a feeling for what's what that one's good that one has issues I think that up now it feels good to rally just been free so this will be the one that's an issue I believe we had a bag we're gonna have a bad bearing in there I don't think that one's gonna come back but good enough they leave that be for now I'm more concerned about the tracker but it's nice to know what we have to work with here's that whole loss talking about it's like a blowout on the side of the deck - it will the patch on that rest of it looks pretty solid though I don't see any issues you let's probably anything around yeah I'm just I'm playing it I'm not terrible alright back to the tractor go peek underneath it in looks a foul I think the rears filled with grease I don't think it's a gear oil type the dream plug on it now yeah I've seen anything she ever breaks you on the side that goes in I'm sure that's gonna be all seized up which is right there so when you hit the brakes it pivots that letter and it's a little set of brake shoes underneath here like going that Brodeur and it stops the transmission from spinning I'm sure that's going to need some love let's go and get a couple idlers go yeah I'm just okay that one kills okay let's go put power to it I went and did a little shopping at home stash for a PTO switch let's go hook see if we can hook that up and see if that PTO will fire that's a tad pricey item I do need an electric PTO switch and back in my stash here hopefully ahead the wiring it hard to tell need a seat - I hope they're gonna be any come one won't be halfway decent that one doesn't have a PTO switch though this is their only hope is gonna be this one I took and trim the wires back on this switch let's get our o meter working correct and we try to probe circuits in see if it's even gonna be usable might not be similar enough to to work but we'll see here on volts that's away ohms so when those numbers go to zero it means that you have a path and when it says oh well open loop or open circuit or so we are gonna try to find first one for the ignition switch and you know watch the first video may not make sense but I what's on there now is it seems like power comes in on yellow and then we got to figure out where it goes yeah so it should be a path now I think it's gonna be that one if we open it should open that'll make it so you can't start it it's a weird number home charlie with a high resistance set and K was it say M yeah Meg so it's a that's a number that's way open alright so we're gonna go with yellow and purple for now are the ones for ignition I don't know what works it's going to just check some other stuff and see what we get will leave that same power wire up to what does what that's Meg also Megas up million it's a very close to infinity let's go let's try a little more thoughtful okay but mean off-yellow let's see if any of them make contact all right we know that one does and this one should be the same yep they both go to the same place all right what about this one that's Meg that's open that's open let's go open it still open still Meg yep open all right let's go switch to just the path of these two so that's a closed path open path I've been it's two separate switches just built into each other whether they jump across each other I don't know but it seems like this is going to continue a path this one will be for our ignition so it'll crank when the buttons in that path is completed buttons out this path is completed so this one for you be for the electric PTL let's just put some jumpers on it temporarily kind of put it off and put it on here put it on there and make sure that holds true I look down underneath on the PTO switch and it has a little jumper it has two blacks and a blue oh I think the blacks are ground and the blue eats power going down too and we do have a blue up here so I haven't feeling we should be in the crank anyway yeah all right so we have power going across these and less power to go to sorry turn the key off its off towers on I have a feeling if we jump that power also to that blue wire maybe it'll click that relay that's good that we like the there we go so you have a PTO pulling in and out so that's not function this is probably a safety for something else probably maybe a kill if the motor that's probably what it is if the mower deck is on and you maybe should get off the seat I don't know but it's along those lines so that's kind of out of the picture at least for now and that's probably what this yellow lead is for so the switch will have one circuit which is this for crank it won't crank when it's off and this circuit we can go yellow blue we'll make the other one work let's go hook those up real quick and make sure that's correct we actually got to cut a hole did - I think - get down - pop down into there sometimes you can most of time you can probe the back of these and there's a little tab that locks in the right spot you can pull the wire kick connector out of it not sure what side it's on like a little metal diving board that like us a little middle diving board on the back side of it that locks it in there so I'm gonna do the same to those three and we'll plug them right in make sure they'll touch together in it yellow and red now that should Frank pull it out should not good and then we got for the PTO you're also going to have yellow which way did it go it will be the bottom two wires will be that circuit let's go put enough room that's a endure a little bit of bending no then I push you the other side of that switch is the opposite we're unable to use that for the other circuit yet okay so that should be all the way actually had a PTO click on yep good crank pto comes on no crank awesome let's go move on just something else let's go check on that battery volts DC I looked at charge overnight and both dead cell and took a charge but one of the cells did not come back and say what happens if they go totally dead like that the water I think the water in the acids separate with no charge and then the water can freeze and it flexes a place and cracks them no oh well you need a battery it's gonna see what's in that gas tank gas but it's got a good one of the two quarts or something in it gas or water we're going to find out right now it smells gonna rinse it get back to the let's go people were commenting on why don't you just google and look it up and see what the wires and stuff to you I'm trying to show how to figure stuff out if you don't have that capacity last resort yeah I'll do that but I kind of like to understand how things are working by troubleshooting and maybe it's something I could pass on as far as like the thought process behind it so I know a lot of people can get irritated the fact that I just don't look it up and see what wire does what well that's that's why you see when that drips out it goes clear for a second that's all the water that's on the bottom I think it's an eighth inch of old gas and an inch of fuel so I'm gonna do my best to dry that out of there get the rest of it out you got a look and make sure that the fuel valve and everything still works in it and then there's a float over here you click yeah that's a fuel level watch how it goes clear for a second that's the water underneath it so yeah with 90% water trying to see what it's got for in an input on the other side and a feeler metal pick up tube that goes all the way down as it goes all the way down to that lowest part of the tank down in here so I'm not gonna be too concerned about that but you want to cut this off and I don't know if I want to work with the fuel shutoff on and off and we'll just leave all the way out and hopefully it doesn't leak or suck air we'll find out we have an issue later on water running maybe we'll get into that but sometimes you mess with these things and if you'll have anything to fix it with we dig in a hole mr. s that fuel line off I don't want to distort it so I'm gonna cut on an angle away to kind of minimize it my like torquing I'm putting on the hitting itself that's about metal ones with plastic ones you really got to be be cautious that's the best way to go let's go put a piece let's see if that valve works blowback threw it out you know I was gonna do that didn't you let's go with a piece of this you're more flexible than that stuff area blow on the end of it actually works I still don't know if were gonna be a leaking coming out of there he'll probably give a little squid squid with some soapy water see if that's the same replace all that fuel line - this one has a looks like a little bit of a heat shield on it we're not gonna have that with a new one so I don't have that with anyone powdery there huh the fuel pump yeah I call it a pulse pump basically what they do they take a signal from the crank case see this hose going down to the bottom of the crank as the piston goes up and down it makes on the other side of the piston you know either you get the top side where's the compression and the fire happens well on the other side of that the pressure Barry's makes a pulse not very much but it's a bit of a pulse in that pulse it's enough to move a diaphragm on one side of the pump makes the pump move will check valves on the inside of it allows the diaphragm the fire it's actually this side and then the other side of the diaphragm is where the fuel is with two check valves so every time the the pulse goes one direction draws fuel in and then it goes the other direction the valve shuts and then the valve opens allowing it to go out of here and vice versa when it goes the other direction there's a valve on this side that shuts that doesn't allow the fuel to get sucked back through that's what's happening inside those how they operate we are from place that hole is somebody a fuel line and fuel filter all the way up to and out of the other side the pulse part I'll leave alone because there's no fuel there it doesn't generally deteriorate like the rest of the fuel line from the yeah ethanol that's in the fuel mental note of where was routed over under hey Robert that's gonna come out straight water little extra drop the tank back in it let's go put some fuel in and crank it over before you put the fuel line back on the carburetor will let it kind of push through there the fuel pump just keeps any water in there blew it out but I'd rather let it hurt yourself set you up out front and give you some cranks if that gets some fuel through your boat seeing a fuel filter on its way you know something probably I should do it it's looking a little murky that's pushing some water through it did put me I'll dump that out and I'll do it again till I get clear hey some water push crap back into the gas tank you know yeah you see literally see hold on you literally see water sitting on the bottom that's why we did it hey I'll do that again till it comes clear let's try it again I have been feeling when the diaphragms in a carburetor in the fuel pump got sunk I don't think it's the level of the fuel give it a little shot of air back and kind of seat that one of those two diaphragms they're not doing what they're supposed to I should have been able to blow back into the tank like that give that valve to the shot so I hate when that happens yeah I gotta try out shooting air from the other side try to get the diaphragm it's a seat and I'll bring you back when I get a squared away try to draw through it the turkey baster you can see the fuel filter see if that's even it might I'm gonna put a little bit of fuel in it get some RPMs going chief that'll do it for us well let that gas settle out take a peek at it still looks a little cloudy to me though it's not look pretty good now yeah just a little EC at the very bottom there that discolored puddle that's the water dirt dirt mighty just got knocked off the engine when it was running I think we got it now we can hook that fuel line up and just run it yeah that's more like it now I'll probably apartment anyway just so pushes its way through now should stay running once the fuel goes up all the way up his choke oh you don't want to kind of go to choke it with my fingers here that's a joke I still wanted to read real high cuz they're hard to cover on it [Music] alright go change the oil I think is the next thing on the list see what that looks like when it comes out I went and grabbed another gas cap fortunately not the same size so I'll keep an eye out for one of those sorry about the background noise that's the exhaust fan so we get as for you dirty that's busy doing this thing I didn't take a few minutes start buttoning up the Dan trout up in my stash I want to try to find a new oil filter for that I don't know if not will go without it and just kind of and actually might be in it maybe it might be the one we're looking for sometimes it pays to be a hoarder these are all stuff that other people had not my personal okay say never have to buy it tundra filter again to kawasaki that's a good sign maybe looks like the right flavor yeah yeah that that wants a six-point socket the weird setup let's see if her water pumps spin that out of there where's our there's a newly acquired one would that end up would you do with it where'd you put it it's a tad shorter ID though I think this one's got a bigger hole if not we'll rinse that one out the old one get one when it gets good crap off of theirs off load it crap on the flange area of it the cue you guys are flashing you're flashing me no no morals I got you and your battery you're back No I question it well she's not catching very many threads because I think one sitting a little yeah the threads on this one or more proud than this one I'm gonna take one last look up inside that thing I have a few no we're gonna rinse this one out I'll try to find the part number off of it and yeah we could just swap that when it comes in yeah the threads were wrong on that one this one has two right the Reds the seals a little bit larger diameter but I see a large sealing area on there that'll go on there yeah let's write up good on that and then put a note on it to get I get the right one you want to push hold dirt through though you know sometimes you got to work what you got it starts knocking later while we know why the check rattles the other way oil filters have a valve in them that allows you to draw through and not push back so that they don't lose their oil Prime some point somebody had their way with a pry bar on the cover and their way with it let's see if we can packs a little better fire it up and she does everything she should yes the oils in it I don't need to do we might need some choke I want to let it build oil pressure boy gave her you know tell us about it [Music] she's the fire that yo the airfield trying to find when it's gonna die I'm running it in like it right about there come out here the idle speed has to be too low yeah right about there like that good check the oil level on that everything's working anything leaking out and then go air out the place and I gotta go apart gonna Whittle the hole for that is surround square peg round hole [Music] [Music] to start tearing into the breakthrough it I figure won't we even just see maybe they work rears up thank you we got to get it so you can see that spinning let's go walk that down five scripts and then be able to turn the wheel in the back pick up vice grips on anything let's see if it'll do this all day long they work how great they work showing one of the pads seized up but why am i a little cautious with screwing with it is again you got steel going into lune these have a tendency to break off and if it is just a big pain yeah so so it's functioning everybody don't want to screw with it and this is your brake adjustment on the outside there's a jam nut right here how do you see it that Jam that pushes the inner pad in a little further well if the wheat will come off will dig a little further how's that a snap ring you know am I too big for the hole Hey oh they're calling it similar pair how them kind of film to you know kind of hard to see her in attire what I'm doing yeah come off oh look at that it's even gooey on the backside not all arrests nice now we can see the set up let me get set up to work on the setup so it's got a lever that's a cam this is the lever it's got a cam on the end of it and there's two pins that push in and then there's a floating brake pad on the other side and then the rotor is supposed to float to catch the pad that's fixed on the inside hopefully they'll come apart and will make more sense that racket is [Music] looks like a casting and bust it away and I need a little hammer go get some juice in it first sound one really shouldn't need it doesn't like I said this one's the adjustment it feathers how much this lever is pushed in and pushes those pins so as the pads where you crank that in a little bit more within reason hey-ya metal of the middle that's up where you get a-changing so let's see if we can get this one I don't like it can't really pay heat on it neither generally you try to get a little bit of room and overtime you rock it back and forth you kind of make it a little bit of a path or space really what happens with these is it's probably more right here the hole that goes through just corrodes up and it hangs up you know the steel in the aluminum pop out for like a better terms I'm gonna do a bunch of this in private some things you just want to be left alone and hopefully and it's going once you get like one full rotation usually I'll get you there what also helps is sometimes you get one side out then you can rotate the body of the thing a little how many of me how many you are you need to get a ratchet try to tell an animal credi the whole way down more towards the end yeah they're stuck here's your pad but those pins are supposed to float and they are pretty much locked up and then this rotor should float on there and that's seized up to it and I don't think that is gonna want to play well what try gonna tap in hmm I don't I wouldn't be careful with trying to grab it with a puller because you're pulling against something that's not meant really to have a side load on it you can give it a little bit it's also gonna get around it there's no space to grab on there figure something out let's go work with this part first get it freed up we can tap them down and should push the pad out on the other side one of our pins our pad which broke free from its base actually it might be okay finished tap now laughing yeah right how's that I'm gonna go clean this stuff up clean these pins up on a wire wheel so that they float again as you get that out of there try a little air hammer in the center pry bar on the outside pistons not stuck that's not a bitter one where is it what fat and stubby [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] let's see if we can finish I think that's the last of the direct range stuff isn't it now we got a tire up front that's got issues pushing the key out I need to clean up to [Music] [Music] I got the left fire down on the ground those are little spin the brakes it was big it other side still live in a little that might be an issue that caused a slight lumpiness to the ride let's go see if I can figure out where it's leaking from I don't see a terrible amount of dry rot on it so that's good hopefully it's right on the bead we need mist beed sleeping on the bead a quick look devious you make blow bubbles anywhere else a little there they're cut all the way around probably same on inside yeah a little on the inside so we gotta go take a tire off and see if we get the bead to break we'll clean up the surface that's on there and we'll be seal on it okay good won't grope you groan a white beard not really that you ready in there clean up that lip is best possible I don't believe you rust Abed I get it I got a sealer that will work on that sure I was gonna try to the pores were leaking on the tire guys are saying they put motor oil inside instead of like the stop leak stuff and the oil closes up the pores and makes the rubber kind of swell up when it's all that dry cracky stuff like to get that a shot we'll see if it works go get some sealer uber it up and hear it back up again just what it says that's what it does kind of like a rubbish to me actually you just take that won't unique it mess all the way around and its job is where the little slight imperfections are just kind of fills him in it on the rim - it's not gonna hurt I can view that to both sides you know maybe back if you let that set up a little bit poor put air in it I could wipe off some of that or dries up he left the sit for about ten minutes throw some grease in the frame while we're waiting and the wheels off which this hasn't been done in forever I like to see without the top rock it back and forth and get it so maybe try to pull walk the other way probably do the same thing thundering out that's the end of the steering column it's like a spring loaded preload but you got a lot of drag to it let's let it soak with that yeah it's been a little bit grease all the pivot points I'm gonna give it a little more you like by between five and ten but I want to go a little bit more than that so it seats up into the rim see we getting there Houston some take don't thank you take your tool and play with it a little bit you know you don't see it itself if not we just changed that out I need a new valve stem you kidding me your fighter on you have a defect inside the the there's a seal it's like a taper on that that stem has a taper on it it fits up against the mouse see the stem that has it like an opposing surface think about this valve see if that yes got it that looks fine I think we're okay just give it another second yeah we're fine slap that tire back you know slippery I can't find the hole give it got one of them yeah yeah the rain is coming just boom in a little while ago now you look your best well they got that goober crap on there WD can't clean up look good when you increase your chicks you know and henna looks pretty good huh the rest of the tractors look like crap because I painted that go get that tape off of there [Music] like I mean at door song riders on the storm perfect well guys it's late I'm gonna cut it right here and I don't how long the video has benefits it's probably decent length hopefully one more video will be done with this one but it looks like it's coming along pretty good if we get most of mechanicals all taken care of the brakes are done tires are done suspension lubed engine tin oil change switch put in gas tank gun fuel line anything else forget brick shoes oh hey see the bubbles coming out and the dread I'm gonna have to put oil in that tire after all all right guys with that thanks for hanging out with me hope you enjoy just
