Bible Study 9-29-21

you're such an awesome and powerful god and as david said for this man that thou are even mindful of him uh god we thank you that you are mindful of us we thank you that we are not only being are on your mind but you love us and we are made in your image and after your likeness so god what a privilege it is to come into your present boldly you have given us access through the blood of jesus christ who suffered bled and died and rose the third day that we may have that access now god we ask for your wisdom that so much greater than any wisdom that the world can ever have it is a law and it's a principle it's the authority of your word that breaks the yoke and destroy the burdens and we give you all the praise due to your name the glory is already yours in jesus name we pray amen all right i'm excited again about tonight with our bible study and for those who have start watching us online we'll see how it goes tonight because i may be asking for participation and sometimes when we start having audience participation in bible study you know we don't have all our cameras to capture the person that is um maybe sharing that if we go that way if the spirit leads us that way so if so those that at home just gonna have to follow the best they can right amen and i pray that it would be excellent and that you'll be able to hear if the spirit leads us that way so we give god praise and glory we want to reason i said that i would like to go back to some [Music] if you desire to participate tonight because of some of the things i said sunday keep working on that sound say it sunday i want to go back over that and go back over in more detail and as we go in detail if there are any questions or comments or is there any input that you have uh then i'm gonna give you a mac and you can freely share those comments inputs and questions uh because you know sometimes when you're teaching and preaching on sunday morning not sometime all the time it's no time to stop and ask question is it no because i'm not going to stop and take a question i can imagine how that sermon would go but i think when it comes to bible study it's the time to ask questions that need to be asked participate in any form the holy spirit leads you so sunday we was dealing with um the spirit of god and uh the wisdom of god the spirit of god and the wisdom of god we was in proverbs let's go back to proverbs um chapter 4 let's go there proverb 4 and verse 5. put it on the screen issue if you will proverb four and five did you hear me okay y'all already got it y'all now that's what i'm talking about all right uh what we was really and i i mean by all means if you have any question please ask because knowledge is a powerful thing amen now what we was talking about in proverbs five four and five is uh solomon solomon said get wisdom now we are reading uh god you know the bible says he is the most wisest man to ever live in the natural we certainly know jesus is the teacher of all teachers and no one teaching can come close to his and what really let me say that before going for what really separate jesus teaching from any other so-called god you know we've got all kind of religions and deities and gods but what separated jesus teaching from any other person that ever walked the earth any other religion and i want to start naming the other religion not even going there tonight but what separated his teaching was his teaching was the original authority power and principle of god's word when jesus spoke it was power authority and law principle all that wrote in it so if anybody applied what he taught they would find out whoa it is true see that what made jesus different whereas if you apply other teaching it falter hit and miss jesus doesn't hit and miss and so that what made his teaching so much powerful so powerful and suddenly we were looking at when he said you heard it say it but now i say unto you uh on the sound y'all come back up and keep working that a lot of echoing so you would hear jesus talk with power and authority now one time they said to jesus some of the followers who gave you the authority to teach and preach that way and jesus said me and my father we're one what he have said i only speak what i've heard from him so he was making himself equal with god uh and the talk show you want to talk about when jesus spoke everything obeyed him see the power and the thought of god's word louser were dead for four days and jesus spoke and the dead had to still obey the authority the power and the principle god word the dead had to get up off his word hell lord have mercy you see the difference in jesus name get up on the dead yeah if he had he had to say lazarus not just dead get up but lazarus get up listen again he spoke to the wind in the waves and they had to obey his voice imagine if we obey divorce she'll carry all the power and authority i hope you get it because i'm going to move from it but that's the difference between god's word if you apply it apply the word it works amen the word work the word work if you work it all you gotta do work it uh and it'll work every time so now what were we talking about uh we were talking about um applying principles and most times when uh teaching of god's word come and you remember sunday i said this and now and this i want you to look carefully and then questions start coming please ask i said we pray for god's wisdom have anybody ever prayed for god wisdom sure we have and in the book of james it says that when god we pray and ask god he said he he upbraided not he he don't withhold wisdom it wisdom if you ask god for wisdom and you're a child of god born again wisdom is guaranteed to come to you god can't hold it back if any man asks for what wisdom god upbraided not but to give it out liberally liberty liberally uh unto all men it shall be given that what we read sunday right in james chapter one it shall be given anytime you see the word shall is absolute so let's put a pen in this if anybody asked for god wisdom god had put him put himself in a must by speaking that he shall give it to us so it is a guarantee that it comes now you hear some people say well i ask god for wisdom and he didn't give it to me that cannot be true the bible say let god be true and every man a liar right all right now it cannot be true for a human being to say i ask god for wisdom he did not give it to me we might have moved too fast and got ahead of god might have i don't think you can move too late you may be on delayed it but whenever you apply the wisdom if he told you to move this year and you didn't move you delayed it but when you apply wisdom wisdom still going to work just a year behind amen and that may be a costly thing but the wisdom still works so nobody can say god didn't give them wisdom i i'm so clear about that because if he say he shall give it in a discussion now when it comes when the wisdom of god come to us here's where the problem comes in and this where we struggle to walk in the blessing of god when it comes many times it don't come as pleasing to us or something we really wanted to do which i'll agree so if god say i give you wisdom and he give it to us and we say well lord i ain't i ain't gonna hear that i didn't want to hear that i don't want to do that that's not where i'm at right now i don't want to stop that i don't want to start that i don't want to forgive that person i don't want to release this then we'll say i didn't hear from god he didn't give me wisdom right has god ever said something to anyone and you didn't want to do what he said oh yeah all the time oh well did he speak what was the problem okay now listen so we just admitted there's time we prayed to god he spoke we wasn't ready to do what he said did he give us his wisdom what got in the way beside us what was really in the way what pride okay we have intellect what else got in the way huh influenced by others what else got in our way we didn't want to be obedient what fear that's good too like lord i heard you but i just don't have the faith to do it i can't trust you right now who i can go i can stand on that all day long i've been learned i've learned that the apostle paul said i learned how to abound i learned how to be a base i learned how in all things all things my god shall supply all my needs but it's a learning process usually and i'm going to ask some more because you may have some more answers to this usually when you start dealing with fear because in the natural world we've been taught to be afraid of certain things and some people call it wise to be afraid and it is wise to be afraid of some certain things but it's never wise to be afraid of the uncertainties that god tells you to be obedient in like he told abraham he said abraham get up leave your home country leave all your kin people go to a land that i will show you now what most of them would ask well before i leave i need to know what you're sending me you're going to tell me get up leave my home country get from around a lot of that he would live among pagans idol worshipers even in his family that's why he said leave your family this time maybe i want you to separate in this case oh abraham didn't want to and he never he never totally obeyed god but he did go because he he brought lot his nephew he totally leaving then he what happened with lot he got him in a lot of trouble whatever he did a lot of trouble a lot brought but god never told him to bring him but most of us won't move unless we have certainty we've been taught to check all boxes before we move and with god it's impossible to take all boxes sometimes impossible to check any boxes that's why we say we walk by faith and not by sight so we got fear lack of obedience so god speaks okay listen god speaks we have all the media even those that are watching at home we have admitted that when god speak if it's not what we want to hear we reject what god has said and then we'll turn around and say well i wish i could hear from god what are we really saying i wish i could hear from god what i want to hear would y'all say that true i wish i would hear from god what i want to hear if this is what we're basically saying if god would just line up with me and answer my prayers like i want him to see the wisdom of god 90 percent of the time or maybe higher will go against the desires of the flesh y'all just heard what i say i repeat it repeat we took listening class last week what i just said the wisdom of god 90 of the time will go what against the desires of the flesh i'm going to say it one more time let y'all repeat it the wisdom of god 90 of the time or more we go against what yeah so we cannot be sitting around waiting for our flesh to agree with the will of god our flesh to agree the bible says that we are to bring our flesh under subjection how many y'all read that scripture we bring our flesh what you know i just quoted that scripture somebody look it up on your cell phone for me uh where we are to bring our flesh under subjection to the spirit look it up and tell me what it is cause we're gonna put it on the screen and i want you to see the difference between the wisdom of god what is it y'all got it what is it okay go ahead with the question why are they looking it up yes uh let's let's get a mic over there take the mic over there i'll repeat it the question is and y'all been found that scripture by now with that cell phone i put up first corinthians 9 and 27. that why i say it now tonight is ordering participation if we're going to take our time in here if they can follow if you can follow along at home praise god because certain things are being said y'all can't hear it but i'm trying to repeat every question as possible one of the questions just leave that up there i'll come come back to it in a few minutes one of the questions the question that just got asked was i said 90 of the time when god will when the wisdom of god come to us i say 90 maybe more of the time when god will come to us it would not be pleasing to the flesh because and the question was well flesh and blood can't enter the kingdom of god how is it ninety percent of time why can't be 100 percent of the time because there are certain times we pray to god and he gives us exactly what we pray for and we we say oh lord thank you for answering this but most of the time it won't be what we want but there are times when we are praying we'll say lord you answer my prayers just like i wanted you to and god is saying well the only reason i answered your prayers exactly like you wanted me to this time you were lined up this time you was lined up with my will amen now he never answered our prayers according to the way we want him to uh it just don't make any sense when god no it doesn't when god answers our prayers or give us instruction it will take faith to walk by sight means i understand it i have figured it out from the a to z so now i can walk by sight cause i understand i understand it i can walk from a to z faith means i'm just going to trust you i don't understand why you're saying what you're saying but i'm going to trust you now we have to be listen we have to become king sharpen our ears that we may be keen listeners of the things of god that we when we when god speak we can hear him what clearly now let me share with you how i know personally when god is speaking to me maybe it can translate to you now just because i'm about to tell you how i can understand how god speaks to me don't mean that you can take that and apply it directly 100 percent to your life because if that's the way he have began to communicate to me and i have understood it may not be the way he's speaking to you right but god has done me this way ever since he called me into the ministry called me really he called me he ordained me he sent me out and that same way he spoke to me the first time have not changed over these getting closer to jesus over 35 years ago since i gave my life to the lord he has not changed his voice in the way he instruct me in 35 years and i'm glad he don't change up i get confused matter of fact the same pattern that god uses to for us to identify his voice is the same pattern we use for each other if you familiar with a person's voice they can be behind a door and give you instruction and you will really know that person you don't have to see them you don't got used to their voice over time so you know when you hear that out of what there is um i don't know close to 10 billion people on words that's a lot of people right for you to know one distinct voice your spouse or your child or someone talking you go like okay they in another room and you're so comfortable not seeing them they say uh can you do this and that you go okay yeah and you're comfortable not seeing them if a stranger get in your house in another room and start giving you instruction what's gonna happen you're gonna go wait a minute now i don't know this voice this is a different voice it can change so god voice doesn't change you know god is not going to keep changing the way he speaks to us because we got to get used to his voice now what happened with me over the years is that i have he haven't changed his voice i just got better at listening more in tune with what he's saying so basically when god speak to me and i thank god that one thing i said many years ago i said what i want to be able to do is be able to shorten the time in in hearing him and obeying him that that's what that became my goal i don't want to hear him and notice him and it take me a year or two to obey him i want to be able to hear him and obey him according to the time he say obey him i can't say two weeks three weeks according to the time he says to move i want to move on time not okay he's speaking i'd say i gotta move now i know it may be he's speaking he want me to move on time whatever that time may be the same thing has happened year after year he speaks and he began and he i call it the burden of the heart and the mind the burden of the heart and mind not a burden but he burdens he he troubles he put a stamp on your heart and mind and when you try to shake and say it's not god he may give you a break you come back with the same stamp and will not release you amen somebody until you obey what he said and then once you obey what he said there is a flood of the assurance of god signs and wonders as you start moving to give us the assurance i did say it and you're walking and i'm showing you signs along the way yes in john 10 27 he said my sheep hear my voice and i know them and they follow me john 10 to 27 yes my sheep hear my voice they know my voice they will follow me all right let's go to this scripture you know i said when god speak to us his wisdom see most people are not accustomed to obeying god we want god to say what we want him to say we want god to do what we want him to do we don't want to we're just not accustomed we're not accustomed to hearing god man i'm telling you god everything amazing now watch this weather is amazing that people think they can't hear god clearly we've been taught that we can't hear god clearly now what kind of god would create a being in his image and then came speak to the being he created we give children you know birth god give them birth but we have children and we can speak to our children what make us think that god we are greater than god that gives us new birth but can't talk to us we got to get king in our spiritual ears and once you get beginning to practice it don't happen overnight but once you begin to practice hearing god practice hearing god getting better and better at it and i think obedience really helped us to become king listener god will speak and the men he speak you'll know it god all right that scripture says now i'm trying to say this our flesh will not line up with the will of god so the bible says here list what it says but i keep under my body and i bring it into what subjection subduing the body lest that by any what means when i have preached to others i myself should be a castaway now bringing it on and bringing it into into subjection now you can take it down a scripture down now if you desire listen if you got to bring something into subjection it's not willingly it's not willingly coming y'all got it have you ever been on a playground or had with the children or they've been swimming in a pool you ever took the child to the pool or beach you're ready to go but they are not ready anybody ever experienced that or if you don't have children have you ever been somewhere when you were the child your parents were ready to go but you weren't ready what did the parents go do they re they went and got you out of the pool grabbed you by the hand or out of the beach off the playground and dragged you out of the pool kicking and streaming all the way to the car they brought your body unwillingly under subjection when god will come to us sometimes you got to drag your flesh to obedience that good teacher i'm surprised they didn't get amen amen the bod the flesh does not jump up and volunteer to do the will of god yeah never a willing participant i heard somebody else back there i'll get the mic you right there behind it that's where fasting comes in i'll pull it down what'd you say that's where fasting comes in that what fasting fasting yeah you're fast yeah jesus said when you're fast not if you're fast has anybody ever fastened in their life fasting is powerful you know hard for some people to fast i mean you gotta deny that food lord i can't miss a meal listen fasting is one of the kingdom principles that's so that's why jesus said when you fast don't be as the hypocrites who try to look all sad and look all weak and they don't bathe and comb their hair and dress up they want people to have pity oh you fasting jesus don't when you're fast don't be like the hypocrites he said because you're not fasting to get the attention of others or to have others have sympathy or pity for you you're fasting because the principle of fasting is that you weaken the flesh you deny the flesh and when you start denying the flesh it cries it says feed me unless i'm going to do this to you and i'm going to do that to you you feel i'm going to give you stomach cramps i'll give you headaches you better oh the flesh is saying you better obey me or hear the price so when you we're fasting we're trying to tell the flesh you are not in control we're learning to control the flesh by fasting and when you're fast because the flesh is not getting what it wants it cries so loud but when you deny it it quiets down it's like a baby won't that bottle when you're trying to wean them and that baby anybody try to wean the baby off the bottle you got to let the baby cry sometime don't you if you let him cry long enough what started happening to the baby they quiet down and i ve and after a while you try to give them the bottle after they broke after they are broken you try to give them the bottle what they do with that bottle you broke them from what they thought they wanted they flesh cry but you we were saying i don't care how about your flesh cry if we would do ourselves like we do the baby lord jesus we tell out the baby cry cry cry you're not gonna get that this bottle and the baby's is not big enough strong enough to get up and do what he wants so we it's control we are in control of the baby that's why we can that's why we can break the child and wing the child from the bottle because they can't physically get what they want that's the only reason we can break them but see we grown amen so we're god trying to break us a different thing but let's go back to the flesh while we're fasting we're fasting to really bring the flesh under subjection and weaken it to obedience and while the flesh is getting weaker the spirit is getting stronger when i say the spirit getting stronger as the flesh gets weaker i'm going to show you some instances and you're going to realize why you heard from god when the flesh gets weaker our spirit gets stronger and we're more keen in our hearing of god because the flesh is not getting lazy sleeping in control getting what he wants so our spiritual ears become more keener wouldn't that be the principle of the first temptation than able to hear god speak right the first temptation of mr brown brought up saying jesus now he had fasted 40 days and 40 nights and he needed the bible say he was hungry he didn't just want to eat because he was hungry he needed to eat so when the devil came the devil listen the first temptation the devil really messed up he was going to win one way or the other what he really thought if i le if i wait long enough till he's really hungry dan come with the temptation he's going to jump on this and turn the stone in the bread but the longer he waited for jesus to get hungry the stronger jesus would be coming and the less he needed the food so when the devil said if thou be the son of god turn these stones and bread now jesus responded man shall not live by bread alone he knew we still got to eat he said but what didn't happen i don't found that man also not lived by bread alone but man also lived by the word of god he needs spiritual food so the devil thought he had jesus first temptation turned his stone and bread but jesus spirit is too strong now and his flesh is under control so that's the purpose of fasting we don't fast to lose weight we don't fast for any other purpose or to be seen amen we we fast for the purpose of hearing god clearly now i wanna show you what doesn't happen hurt happened to people and they didn't know it there are some fast we have fast in our lives which i call a conditional fast or automatic fast like if you ever lost someone that really close to you the tragedy of losing that loved one you didn't eat you would pray praying and you were calling on god and you wasn't eating and in that time whether you knew it or not god would because of the denying of the food it wasn't by purpose it was a concern for that person that caused you to turn down the plate and in that time what you were doing was weakening the flesh and i want no food i'm concerned about this person family member or whoever could have been that you was could have been a parent could have been children could have brother sister could have been a friend could have been anybody i don't want anything to eat i'm too busy praying and concerned about that person and because of that automatic going into that fast not by design but by condition you found when it was all over with and even in that time when you look back in that time god was carrying you and god was speaking to you and god was holding you together through all of that pain you got close to god now you could have took that time and said well i want to hear everybody talk hear everybody complain and everybody this and everybody that you would have probably fell apart but because you just said leave me alone i need the time and things certain things happen god was speaking loud we still with the same fast it was a conditional fast not a fast that you say lord i'm going to fast because here's a problem you only fast when you want to hear from god you're only fast when you need direction you don't just fast for no reason you want to fast because there's something going on in your life that say lord i have not heard from you clearly so i want to fast and i don't know why i got how i got into a lot of this because when i started teaching about fasting it is a con it takes a lot to teach about fasting uh some certain things that certain people can fast one day and adjust as much as someone who fast two or three days depending on their physical condition they can fast a half a day and it can do just as much as the other person depending on their condition they when certain people say i'm going to deny myself because of their health their blood and all kind of things it is really a a a hours of really calling on god and denying themselves a lot of things but i don't want to it would take me forever uh not forever i shouldn't say that it would take some time to really go in a step by step by step but i'll say if you're going fast uh pray to god about the how he wants you to fast was that was that the same fast as david when he was sick yeah but david went into automatic fast when uh the best when the baby was uh sick that bathsheba had he fast on purpose yeah esther fasted three days and told all her maidens to fast with her not eating or drink for three days she'll she will go see the king after that all right so the thing what i'm saying is god is looking down on all of us if we would just omit this i think our whole spiritual walk would change and we would admit this and say to god this and see there's a lot of time when we pray we're not honest with god that's why we don't get anywhere because we don't talk to god like we should we act like we can hold something back from god and this part god i didn't tell you because i want to talk to you about this uh and on and on okay it's important we pray to god like this suppose we said this that i went to bible study god and i learned according to james chapter one i think that's verse five somewhere if any man like wisdom let it ask a god god give it to all men liberally he'll break it not it shall be given so we just learned if we as christians ask for wisdom that it's going to what absolutely what come you all right well then we turn around and we said that we have heard from god and there was time that we just said lord i hurt you but not right now okay suppose we pray like this lord i ask for wisdom you gave it to me but i didn't like what you said so i didn't do it wouldn't that be okay to pray that way wouldn't that be old listen y'all wake up here come on now watch that wouldn't it be okay to talk to god that way i ask for your wisdom what you gave it to me i decided i didn't want to do that so i didn't do it how many people you think prayed that way not many why why why all right don't he know he he already knows right but he want to hear you say it well okay would it benefit us if we talk that way to god we don't want to admit see why why do you think most people won't talk that way to god like lord you told me to do something i heard what you said i didn't agree with doing it so i didn't do it so lord i know you understand at this moment i couldn't carry out your will now you turn that prayer around and say well now lord give me uh uh strengthen me where i'm weak get me to the point where i can carry out your will because i heard what you said i'm clear on what you said couldn't do it so god you have revealed to me where my faith level is that you'll reveal to me where my spiritual maturity is at there's no denying it so now god move me to a place where i can be strong in the lord and the power of this might if we don't want to pray in that honesty so what we would do we would say lord give me lord i need your wisdom god said here it is and then we will say well i'm not going to do that but we won't go to the next step to have an honest conversation with god because of our pride and we're supposed to be superficial full of super faith and that really looked bad that we could not carry out god will so we're not going to tell god we couldn't do it and we're definitely not going to tell nobody else i heard from god but i can't do it so we keep that within ourselves as if you never said that god and nobody knows so we'll leave it that on the table that is some good teaching them i wish somebody taught me that 40 years ago that is some good stuff there amen somebody amen that is a that's the that's that is that is some powerful way to talk god because god there's nothing we can hide from god wherever we're weak at he already know we we what we cannot do he already know we cannot do well we cannot walk in or carry out he said i already know you can't why are you over in the corner like you can and don't want to talk about what you're weak at if you're weak here god said come to me amen somebody if this worth your trip out here just hearing what i just said right there can you imagine if we really talk to god like we should like that uh my time basically up right now we get ready for the relationship class can you imagine if somebody got you real real angry and you didn't want to be super spiritual the anger was what real and you were thinking about revenge or something but you don't want people to know you get upset you want god to know it wouldn't it be nice if we went to god said god oh jesus this is what i wanted lord let me tell you what's on my mind and now help me in my weakness help me where i'm weak help me not to carry have this anger towards someone because this is what i'm thinking and god said i'm so glad you came to war came to me with honesty and you laid it on the table because i know just how angry you are i know how upset you are so now since you put it on the table i can send my holy spirit to build you up for you've been torn down and to build you up where you're weak because you are a type of person that talks to me about real things why you why do you think he'd call it the secret closet bring it out amen it is the what closet talk to god in secret he says this you and i so why we god said why are you here why don't you talk to me and quit trying to be so religious and all this stuff god said you have real problems you're dealing with real life issues and i'm your god and i want to grow you up and strengthen you but there's certain things you don't even pray about or put it out there just between you and i amen well give god an awesome prayer for our bible study it's been a blessing man i'm telling god it's so awesome all right y'all need to get water whatever the case may be get ready for now when i get back to the bible said i'll tell you what uh what we're gonna do tonight gonna be so not by the relationship class and i'm gonna test and see how well y'all listened last week as we go into this next phase amen all right so we'll be back in about 10
