BEST LEVELING SPEC FOR ROGUE - WotLK Classic

hello hello everyone it's ego today I'll be covering the best spec for leveling your Rogue in Wrath of the Lich King now before we dive in a lot of you watching my channel aren't actually subscribed okay too now let's dive into my preferred spec for leveling your Rogue in Wrath classic the most important thing to understand is when leveling your Rogue it's crucial you pick the right build although I plan to play sub Rogue at end game because I love to PVP I will be leveling as a Combat Rogue throughout my questing journey in northrend I'll be going through town soon enough but let me explain why I'm doing combat instead of sup combat doesn't have to rely on being behind their target for a lot of their big damage compared to sub not to mention combat comes with so many great abilities that can give you amazing AOE capabilities in the open world and even in dungeons sub Rogue on the other hand lacks any AOE it relies on things like Ambush and backstop for the majority of its big damage numbers and doesn't do as much damage overall in a PVE scenario as combat or even assassination now I won't cover assassination but it is also a rather viable spec but still in my opinion combat is the way to go so here's the talents I'll be using when leveling okay so let's go over some talents so ultimately we're going to be in the combat tree starting off with two out of two in Sinister strike then we're gonna go into 5 out of 5 dual specialization we're gonna move down to improved slice and dice we're gonna go 5 out of 5 in Precision we're going to go just one in endurance we're going to move down three out of three lightning reflexes 5 out of 5 in aggression we're going to move down to pick up one of those amazing AOE abilities I talked about which is blade flurry we're gonna go hack and slash five out of five and then we're gonna go down to weapon expertise two out of two blade twisting two out of two we're gonna pick up Adrenaline Rush which which is a huge burst uh ability that we get then we have Vitality three out of three we move down even more we go into combat potency five out of five we pick up surprise attacks and then we grab Savage combat two out of two five out of five per on the week and finishing off the combat tree with killing spree which is another big burst ability so this is only capped at level 70 right now but when you're going in to wrath you're going to be starting at 70. so that's gonna be your combat tree move then into the assassination tree we're gonna grab five out of five in Malice and then we're going to grab two out of two in blood splatter so in the event that uh or not in the event but as you level you're going to want to put more Talent points elsewhere so there's a couple options you can put some into deflection and then pick up repost you can put some as well down in uh unfair Advantage as well and then of course you could also start putting them even further into the assassination tree you could take away the blood spatter uh talents and you could put them into remorseless attacks you can put them down into ruthlessness as you level up as well of course you want to maybe pick up the Vigor this is entirely up to you uh if you want to pick up lethality you can also go some points in here so these are going to be uh the talents that you're going to go for ideally when you hit up to 80 you're going to have maybe not in blood spatter but you're going to definitely have two out of two in remorseless attacks you're going to have three out of three in ruthlessness you're going to have one in Vigor and then you're gonna finish off all your other points into lethality if you do end up having some extra points or you want to maybe switch out um or or have extra points you will switch some stuff out you can always take one point from maybe aggression and you can shove it into uh endurance or if you want to like I said put some points into deflection and go into repost there's a lot of playability in what you're gonna do with these uh with these points but overall that's the general idea of what you're going to be looking for for building your Combat Rogue for leveling in Wrath of the Lich King so one last thing that I wanted to do was give you guys a little bit of a demo on the rotation that I use whenever I'm in a PVE environment of course very simple actually Combat Rogue that's the beauty of it the rotation is quite simple so your main damaging ability will of course be Sinister strike so just from level one as it will be to level 80 this will be your main damager so as you're fighting as you can see you're already doing big crits and then of course as your combo points get to five you dump them all in an eviscerate and you repeat and that is your basic rotation now of course there's more to that but that are that is the basics of it you can throw in a rupture if you want to get some of that uh extra dot damage you have you know your trinket and the only other thing you want to note is keeping up your slice and dice this will increase your melee attack speed and your overall damage output so your DPS per second that's the only thing you really want to keep up so you're going to spam set us to strike make sure your slice and dice is always up and dump all of the combo points into eviscerate that is the just of the basic rotation like I said you could throw in ruptures and stuff like that if you have extra um if you want to make sure that you're keeping up um your rupture you absolutely can so ideally what I do for rating and stuff like that which could apply in a PVE scenario if you're going against uh like a dungeon boss or maybe you're in a group Quest and the person doesn't die after you know a couple of sinister strikes and an eviscerate what you're going to want to do is Sinister strike Sinister strike you're going to want to pop slice and dice first then you're going to want to keep going you want to get enough combo points to put up a rupture and then you just keep spamming and that will be that will be your basic rotation the other abilities that you could use in a given scenario is adrenaline rush if you're wanting to go for a burst blade flurry if you're wanting to do some AOE and then of course like I said um Killing Spree which is another AOE but can also be used in a single Target burst because it could use it could be used to hit the same Target uh repeatedly now you won't be able to use things like backstab so don't worry about that stuff you're like I said your main damaging ability will be Sinister strike eviscerate rupture um and then always maintain slice and dice and then like I said Killing Spree adrenaline rush and blade flurry will be used when you need them including your trinket um you can still use your stuns and stuff like that if need be but that again is to your discretion I won't dive too too far into it because I know that a lot of people coming back into Wrath of the Lich King are looking for something that's very basic very simple to use and when I say combat is simple combat is simple easy to pick up and it is most importantly effective in your leveling Journey
