so you want to install modes into Baldur's Gate right well Adventurer you came to the right place at the end of this video you will have your game set up and equipped to install almost any mod that is out there so without further ado let's get started there are four basic tools and modes you need to install before you start modding the game they will be in the video description under the title download tools first download bg3 mode manager this is the main tool you need in order to add most mods to your game the next one you need is balda's Gate 3 mod fixer this will fix some errors related to bg3 mod manager make sure to click the manual download button and then click either slow download or fast download depending on your Nexus modes account the next one is the native mode loader this tool is required for some modes out there click manual download and you will get a pop-up just click download and start the download finally download the script extender launcher this tool is required for some modes to work as well now go to your download folder and you will find all four of these files that you downloaded earlier now go ahead and move these files into a new folder I have created a folder named bg3 modes in the disk I use for installing games we will use this folder for keeping all the mod tools and files for balder's Gate 3 from now on now you need to check if your computer has NET Framework 4.72 installed if it is not installed you should do it before using bg3 mod manager since we will be dealing with a bunch of compressed zip or RAR archive files when we download modes we will need an archive manager such as 7zip so go ahead and install that too now go ahead and create a new folder inside your working folder called mode manager now right click on bg3 mode manager file we downloaded and open it with 7-Zip then drag and drop everything inside zip file to the mode manager folder we just created now go ahead and open the bg3 mode Manager application and make sure the profile is public and the campaign is Main now click settings and then open preferences and check if the game data path and game executable path are set if not find the location of the game files like this then open and copy the bin folder link to the game executable path box and add a backslash at the end then copy the game's file name like this and add that after the backslash we just added earlier make sure you have the dot EXA at the end [Music] now open the data folder and copy the link to the game data path box as well [Music] now click the save button and close mode manager now open mode fixer file we downloaded earlier and find modfix or pack file inside that now you need to go to the balder's gate 3 mode folder this is usually located in local disk C where your Windows is installed open the users folder and click your username on Windows you should have a folder named appdata in there if not chances are you don't have the option show hidden files and folders enabled follow these instructions on the screen to enable that now open the app data folder and go to the local folder scroll down until you find the larion studios folder open that and go into the balder's gate 3 folder and you will find the mods folder now drag and drop the Pak file into the modes folder this is where we will be putting most mods we download in the future the next tool is the script extender open bg3 essay updater file you will find a file called d right dot dll inside we need to drag and drop this file into the bin folder where the game is installed that we opened earlier finally open the native mod loader file and find two dll files inside it drag and drop those two files into the bin folder and click replace if ask then go ahead and create a new folder called native modes inside the bin folder this is where we will put modes that require native mod loader now I will download a few different mods that utilize the tools we installed earlier as a quick demonstration keep in mind that I will do in-depth mod review videos in the coming weeks as a series the first mode is called basket full of equipment which is a normal Pak mode that only requires the mod manager use manual download as usual the next mode is called native camera tweaks and this mode uses native mod loader use the manual download for that as well click the download button again when you get a pop-up and you will be able to download it this last mode uses the script extender tool we just installed earlier this comes with a Pak file and you need mode manager to install this but you won't be able to enable this if you don't have the script extender installed in your game folder luckily we did that earlier so modes like this will work fine for you now I will create a folder named modes inside our working folder and move all the three modes we downloaded into that this will be the folder we will keep all our downloaded modes now open the first mode native camera tweaks and find the two files inside [Music] drag and drop those two files into the native modes folder we created inside the bin folder earlier now open the basket equipment mode and find the Pak file inside drag and drop that into the balder's gate 3 mode folder in the app data folder that I showed you earlier [Music] finally open the 5e Spells mode we downloaded drag and drop the Pak file inside into the mod folder as well once you're done copying all the mode files into the modes folder you need to apply them with mode manager before opening the game so go ahead and open mod manager and you will find all the Pak modes you copied are there on the right side they will even indicate if they require the script extender when you hover over them as well now all you have to do is drag and drop them from the right side to the left side and click the export order to game button that is located in the middle of the toolbar once you do that all the modes are ready to use in the game keep in mind that some Pak modes you copy into the modes folder go under overrides in the mod manager you don't have to do anything to them just click the export button and you are good to go one more thing there will be some error messages on the launcher you can just ignore that it won't affect the game you can just launch the game normally now I will load into a game to see if the mods are installed properly so the basket mode was there on the spot mentioned in the mode page itself I went ahead and equipped some armor from that the camera mode was also working properly I was trying a bunch of angles with that well those tools are all you need in order to install almost any mode out there I'm aware that there is the vortex mod manager but it can make things complicated sometimes and even have bugs at times I prefer and recommend the bg3 mod manager over the vortex mod manager so if you're using the vortex mod manager for modding Boulders Gate 3 I'm afraid I might not be able to fix some issues you might have I will be doing more videos in the coming weeks covering cool and interesting bg3 modes so stay tuned for that if you like the video give it a thumbs up and you know that if you don't subscribe I will be sad right have a great day adventurous see you soon [Music] [Applause] [Music] we've been
