Best AR-15 Under 800

[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right guys why I'm back today with one of my top tier a our pistols or SVRs but that you can actually afford to kind of save up some money a lot of these top tier uppers and ar-15s run well above $1500 for true quality components now I personally believe you can get very good ar-15s for a much lower price and that is kind of the motto of my channel high value and budget that actually works but I do get a lot of questions on the channel about duty use guns and patrol rifles as well as a home defense rifle within a certain budget and honestly a lot of people are messaging me and saying their budget all in for a rifle and optic is right at about $1,000 and I feel like at that price you can really select some quality components that will get you a truly do to use ar-15 that's going to last you a lifetime and that is what I think I have here now Palmetto State Armory is well known in the industry for doing high value in budget ARS but here recently they've been pairing up with some more quality components like FN cold hammer-forged barrels and guys Lee automatics for rail systems and gas blocks as well as tool craft for BC G's on some of their premium lines these guys really take it a step further they also utilize a few things from PSA like the upper itself and charging handle to help save you some money and come in at really good prices if you follow the channel you know in the past I reviewed one of their upper assemblies with a 16 inch barrel that came in right at about $4.99 and this is the ten and a half inch version on an AR pistol lower this in fact is actually from Tom at a state armory the cool thing about this upper is that it does utilize some really quality components but the price without the bulk air group and charging handle is $4.99 when you start looking up complete guys lee uppers in this category you're looking at about $1000 and FN uppers are around the same price again - the bulk air group and charging handle so you're getting this up or pretty much half off with some of those other name-brand upper assemblies because this one again is assembled by Palmetto State armor using their upper receivers but a lot of other top to your components let's talk about those components what you would pay for them individually and kind of summarize what you get in this entire package starting from the front and working our way to the back this particular version comes with a standard a tube birdcage flash hider and you can see that the barrel itself actually sticks a little bit past the rail which I love because you can easily remove the flash hider and you can add a suppressor or another muzzle device I have on the front of this a gem tech' Trek suppressor works really well one of the crown jewels of this entire build is the fact that this barrel is an FN cold hammer-forged ten and a half inch barrel the barrel is also chrome lined in the chamber is chrome lined so this truly is a top to your barrel generally barrels like this run about 250 to 300 dollars on their own and this one is set up to accept a carving length gas system which is perfect for an AR pistol ten and a half inch system like this we'll talk about the ejection pattern and the gas in the reliability part of the review but again right now we're focusing on the specific specs and features the cool thing about this barrel is the fact that since it is a cold hammer-forged FN barrel it's made out of their machine gun steel and it's going to last a very long time the cold hammer-forged process actually allows us to have a much greater life than a traditional 4150 4140 that traditionally formed barrel so having this chief Barrel is going to be a nice touch again especially if this is going to be your one rifle that you're going to putting thousands of rounds through having a cold hammer-forged barrel is definitely going to increase the life and quality of your entire build the next thing I want to talk about is this guys lis super gas block and this particular one is actually pinned in place so the very first generations of these did not have it pinned in place everybody requested it so now these gas blocks are actually pinned in place and you can see that right there so not only is it set screwed in place but the pin in place is going to allow this thing to be insanely bomb-proof you'll be able to run thousands upon thousands of rounds to it without ever worrying about it walking loose again a truly do to use rifle now guys I've I've had maybe one out of the what however many ARS 15s I've ever had had a gas block set screw walk loose on me and it won't talk the company but I can tell you this never had a PSA one walk loose but the mere fact that these guys are also pitting them again makes me truly trust my life to a build like this I mean there is almost nothing that go wrong with this gas block the way it is set up moving along to the rail system this guy's the rail system again is so solid and robust and it's got a lot of em lock attachments everywhere you need them it also has QD points on the rear of the rail system now I love the location of these QD rail points because what this allows for you guys to do is utilize the sling on either side with the QD cap here and then you guys have QD cups on your brace temor maybe on your lower receiver but having them here actually keeps them out of the way of your hands if you've ever had a QT cup located right here or right here the sling will get in the way of your hands grabbing the rail system this actually pulls the sling up and over and around as you can see in the intro of the video allowing you to get a good hold on the AR pistol or AR rifle whatever you built without getting that sling in the way these guys the rail systems again run about two hundred and fifty dollars so if you consider the barrel the gas block and the rail system we're on at about five hundred and sixty dollars to six hundred dollars if you just bought these components individually and again the entire upper assembly - the BCG and charging handle was $4.99 so if you buy this you are already saving about a hundred and sixty dollars now we actually have a complete upper assembly from Palmetto State Armory forward assist and dust cover and you can see it is labeled right there and then these generally run a little bit more so you're looking at about getting a $700 upper are at $800 upper with all the components on here but for $4.99 now let's talk about that BCG and charging handle as well as the reliability down at the range this is actually a to craft BCG that PA our Palmetto state armory is offering right now and these again are top tier bolts they can run a pretty high premium give you guys a look right there so something like this is chrome lined and so what this is going to allow you is added lubricity in your build which is going to enhance reliability a lot of people talk about how eric fifteens need a lot of oil to work and maybe in the past that was true but I've actually put oil on this when I first started shooting and I haven't oiled it again and is worked a hundred percent reliably with no issues whatsoever you could see how smooth this BCG is still covered in debris and we ran this thing suppressed a lot so having that added lubricity of the chrome lining the properly State's bolt no gas key on your bolt and enhanced a ring extractor is going to allow you to pretty much feed anything through here no matter what you're doing this thing is gonna work great so if you do get this upper I'd absolutely recommend getting that BCG and charge a handle from PSA as well I believe right now these BC G's are running a hundred bucks and guys for a hundred dollars in about twenty dollars for the charging handle you're looking at about 6:20 complete for this upper assembly and guys I know that's a higher price than a lot of other ones that we've been talking about on the channel but can you imagine if you had to go out and source these parts together how much you would have to spend as well as if you bought this entire upper assembly from a guys Lee or an FN manufacture you'd be spending over well over a thousand dollars on just the upper so you can save a ton of money yet still get quality components you can trust for a duty use gun like a trunk gun for law enforcement or a personal defense con and now what we're looking at is a really slick lower assembly from Palmetto State Armory when you put this guy on here you really complete out your build in the SBA for adjustable brace is one of the nicest adjustable braces on the market for a good price I believe if you go over to my Facebook page again I'm trying to work on getting up a website monetization 's the cool thing about this braces them it's one of the most comfort I've ever felt whether you're bracing it through your arm against your arm on your cheek and since this is a licensed SP tactical product it can occasionally and sporadically touch your shoulder and you were good to go I really do love this bracelet them and I couldn't ask for a better one on a top two your pistol builds the mo e grips are really nice the mo e trigger guards are really nice and overall the quality of this lower is great from Palmetto State Armory so for the 180 with this lower in the 620 for the upper you're looking at an $800 AR throw a nice $200 microdot and you've got about $1000 build one more thing I want to talk about this lower is they do have the enhanced polished triggers in this one so you can see it's got almost no take-up but it does a little bit smooth and hits a wall a very crisp break the reset is short audible and tactile followed up by a little bit of take-up a nice break so a very good solid due to use milspec trigger but with those enhancements that the enhanced polished trigger actually includes so I'm gonna wrap up the video with its performance down at the range and the first thing I want to talk about and we've already hinted at it is the fact that it was a hundred percent reliable with every ammunition suppressed and unsuppressed I shot this with steel cased ammo and brass cased ammo in the ejection pattern for most higher pressure brass cased ammo was right at about two o'clock the lower praise lower pressure brass cased ammo was right at about three o'clock and again the steel case was right about three to four o'clock when you added the suppressor the ejection pattern obviously shifted forward because of the added just pressure back into the system itself it did function great no matter what ammo I ran through it and again suppressed and unsuppressed with this gem tech' direct thread suppressor so if you guys are looking for a reliable ar-15 I don't think you're gonna find one more reliable than this now not only is it going to be reliable it's going to be reliable for a long time Palmetto state armory has done a lot of things to this rifle to ensure that is going to function for twenty thirty forty heck fifty thousand rounds it's not something you're gonna have to worry about or baby or constantly tighten set screws or apply Loctite these guys have built this thing solid all the way from the front to the back and you were going to have no issues whatsoever in fact guys I did some insane torture testing on Palmetto State armories products of the past and they have survived insane balls drops being shot with a 12-gauge shotgun they work really well so when you're enhancing some things like the gas block the barrel pinning the gas walk to the barrel and adding a slightly better Bowl care group you are only going to increase that durability over a long time the recoil impulse is very manageable on this because of the carbine length gas system and overall weight of the pistol it's not super heavy but it's not super light seems like it's got a good profile barrel for extended shot strings for a combat style scenario and for a combat style loadout so you don't have to worry about overheating this gun also guys right in here is a great spot to put your hand because the gas block is out here and then it's a good spot to where your hand doesn't heat up too quickly I noticed dumping rounds through this even with the suppressor it was very manageable heat wise so I was super happy about that in summary guys this thing is awesome and I don't think you can possibly find a better ar-15 for eight hundred dollars you are looking at it right here one of the best AR pistols for eight hundred dollars you can possibly get in this configuration now I know you guys are gonna transfer fees and maybe sales tax but this thing is going to be hard to beat so I hope this gives you another high value option maybe even though at a slightly elevated price to add to your collection to truly defend your life with or use for duty use thanks for watching guys have a good
