hey everyone I'm Kronos and this is an updated speedrun and achievement tutorial for Honor mode on patch 6 because of the many differences in this patch with glitches that no longer work along with comments that I've received on my videos I thought I should have a tutorial series that works for not only people running on current patch but also for console and controller players this tutorial series will be for the basic speedrun route for beginners or for people trying to get the faux Hammer achievement while it won't be glitchless it should be doable for everyone and the great start for those interested in learning the speedrun or for those that just want to get the achievement quickly I will release a glitch list tutorial series after this along with a more advanced speedrun tutorial series for more complicated glitches or other techniques if you are interested in these make sure to like and sub subscribe to stay updated for more of these to come in the future in this part I will cover setup character creation and act one for what is known as the sh Temple speedrun route now I'll go over some settings so many of the settings on in this game are not necessary although there's a lot that are very useful to have to make the run a lot easier so I would recommend following some of these set that I have here but a lot of these are pretty much just preference so the most important settings that I would recommend everyone to use are your frame rate settings which are here where I have my frame rate capped at 60 FPS this just makes tricks a lot more consistent in general so I would highly recommend having this at the 60fps if you are on keyboard and mouse I would recommend binding ing an interact key to something that uses your mouse scroll wheel along with a modifier so I use shift plus Mouse scroll up this is very useful for a lot of the jump Mash tricks but it is not necessary if you are running on controller but this is very useful to have if you are on keyboard and [Music] mouse for uh necessary video settings there's not really too much else that you would need uh I would just recommend having whatever preset works the best on your computer for me I use ultra settings because for some reason low settings don't work too well which is primarily due to stuff like slow hddd mode and some of these other settings which could potentially make your game Run worse on low settings compared to higher ones but just Tinker around with these find out what works best for you but that is not super necessary for the rest of these settings these are just useful to have if you are trying to go fast but they're not super necessary so I would just recommend playing with what you're comfortable with these include just turning off tutorials for karmic dice we have it on because it makes your run a lot more consistent by reducing fail failure chances or Auto saves I would recommend having this on if you are just practicing so you can return to a save beforehand it's not necessary and you want to turn this off to go faster since Auto saves slow down your run for Edge panning if you are on keyboard and mouse make sure you check this and then change your panning speed here to what you're comfortable with the higher it is the faster you are able to go by default it is quite a lot slower to pan around and then if you don't want to have the edge panning feature just toggle it off and your panning speed will remain at this high value here for another useful keybind I would recommend having T toggle tactical camera here to a easy to reach button for me that's the grave key which is right next to the one key uh by default it's the o key but it's pretty a to reach with your left hand so yeah for all these other settings they're just all preference these don't matter just whatever you're comfortable with same thing with controller as well for character creation we're going to go ahead and create a custom origin character this is because all of the other origin characters have a lot of additional cutcenes and dialogue that we don't want to deal with I said in the past that you could use use the dark urge but it turns out that in act three the dark urge will cause Orin to behave a lot differently than the standard run with a custom origin character so I would just recommend using a custom one instead of any of these other ones for our race we're going to go ahead and create either a Lightfoot halfling or a deep gnome this is because of their additional advantage on stealth checks here which you can see from the stone camouflage from the deep node and the naturally stealthy of the light foot halfling in patch six they patched out infinite status glitch so the advantage that you get from the small characters being able to do infinite status a lot easier is no longer there so technically you could do the run with any race now but I would just recommend these two for their additional stealth bonuses for your class we're going to go ahead and create a wizard this is because there of their additional cantrips and spells which are crucial for the run for our cantrips we're going to go ahead and keep Firebolt and Mage hand and swap out Ray of frost for minor illusion so these three can trips are going to be used in the Run quite extensively Firebolts going to be used for a lot of combat for Merkel fight as a backup minor illusion will be used in act two for distracting some enemies to skip past additional fights and Mage hand will be used in act three towards the end of the run for using it to get invisibility for our spells we're going to go ahead and get rid of all of these spells here and we're going to replace uh them with enhanced sleep and feather fall so these two are our primary movement SP spells enhanced sleep is the fastest way to move in the game by just jumping massive distances while featherfall just prevents us from taking fall damage from those jumps for fog Cloud we'll be using it to skip some fights as well we're going to also be taking chromatic orb if you are doing the Shadow Boxing route if you are on Console or controller I would not take chromatic orb and instead take something like long Strider instead just for additional movement at the start of the game and I would also take witch bolt witch bolt is very important for the Merkel fight as it helps speed it up quite a bit uh for our last spell it will be magic missiles just to kill Shadow heart quicker at certain sections although it's not completely necessary as well so if you want to play safer as well on PC and still do the shadow bolt route you could or the shadow box route you can still choose long Strider over it but I would just recommend these six spells right here for your background you're going to go ahead and choose either criminal or urchin for their additional skill of stealth all the other classes don't really have any super beneficial things so I would just choose a criminal or urchin but I normally go with criminal for our abilities we're going to go ahead and max out strength this is for our uh jump distance as it's the fastest way to jump around and it lets you get to far to farther to reach places that you normally can't reach at lower strengths for dexterity we want that at 16 that's because of the initiative role which is very important to have for intelligence we're going to want to have it at at least 14 for three prepared spells and then the last two points you can dump into anything if you're going for speed use it on intelligence if you want a safer route put the last two in Constitution for your skill proficiencies none of these are important so you can just put them to whatever they're not necessary for the run and yeah for our prepared spell we're going to go ahead and uh select enhanced sleep and if you are doing the shadow box route it would be chromatic orb and Magic missiles if you are not doing Shadow Boxing I would recommend fog cloud and featherfall instead if you are doing a route without uh Shadow Boxing and you want to have long Strider just to help make the start protologue easier I would replace uh chrom atic orb with long Strider and I would prepare it here along with featherfall so just select whichever spells that I said which suits you the best and yeah I'll show each of those routes in other parts of this video here once you do that you can go ahead and edit your appearance body type whatever all of those are up to you and you can go ahead and name your tab whatever as well for your guardian none of this matters as well so just go ahead and select create whatever you want a lot of speedrunners like messing around with their Guardians and stuff making them as funny as possible and that's it for character creation so now we're going to enter the prologue of the game and there are three different uh parts to this section so I will do the standard nooid skip route first which should be doable on keyboard and mouse then I will have a section for it on controller and I will also do a section for just doing this part quickly in the normal fashion so if you want to see either of those sections make sure to click one of those timestamps down below but first I will start out with the standard nooid skip route here so what we're going to do is use enhanced lead on ourselves and we're just going to jump around since it's a lot faster I'm going to do two jumps to the spincter open it up do another two jumps and the second jump should be onto either this rock or this rock here you'll notice that your cursor will snap into place depending on where you jump I like to jump right right there and make sure your jump is still active so your enhanced leap is still active here we're going to cast Dash turn on turn base mode and cast Dash again so this gives us double the dash distance and we're going to be doing it one more time to get the max amount of distance to be able to reach the transponder at the other side to end the prologue as fast as possible and we're going to toggle our tactical camera on so we can see above like so from here we're going to scroll in a little bit so we can see our jump distance when we do cast jump as you can see here there's a circle which shows our Max jump distance and we're going to try to find a spot where it says path is interrupted and nothing else so you'll notice there's stuff that says not enough space or Target is too far so if we we just want to make sure we just have path is interrupted here and I like to aim a bit more to the right here I do know like this is a large area where it says path is interrupted but I believe this area right around here will work the best because if you do it badly or you just jump into the wall and fall to the ground to your death then that doesn't work so I would just recommend uh finding around a place that works for you so I like around this area right here from here we're going to do our interact keybind jump to mash jump as quickly as possible through the wall so if you look at my screen at the bottom left you'll see my keyboard layout I'm going to be holding down shift and mouse scroll wheel up which is my intera bind and mashing the jump button as well so we're going going to do that to jump to the other side through the wall and if we do it correctly it should look something like this so you'll notice the jump landed on the other side with that animation and we entered the cut scene here which means we did this part corrected so from here we're going to skip the cut scene and we're just going to wait until it is our turn in combat so you'll notice that combat is starting at this other side here but we don't want to do anything yet before in the past I said that this was a soft lock and very weird but you shouldn't be able to get out of it but it turns out you can with a couple of interesting tricks here so what we're going to do is wait until it's our turn as we can see now it is our turn and what we're going to do is quit to the main menu by making a save in honor mode so in honor mode quitting to the main menu will save your game so if you are not in honor mode you can just manually quick save and then load the game from the directly from the menu but in this case we're just going to quit to the main menu here which saves our game loads us back into the main menu and we're going to hit continue so once we do that we should load back into our game and spawn at the other side on top of where we wanted to land and so once the game loads back up you'll see that I'm put on the top part of the platform and we're it's our turn here so what we're going to do is cast stash one more time so this should give us three boosts of Dash here so we can see we can walk very very far distances but all we're going to do is walk all the way to the end of this top of the ramp here so I like like to do it just at the top of these stairs here and we're going to do one jump all the way to the transponder here and once we land we skip this cut scene and we click the transponder and that is the prologue done with na skip you made it in time now I'll show na skip on controller so what we're going to be doing is basically exactly the same thing as the keyboard and mouse route but instead we'll be doing it on controller so what we're going to be doing is casting enhanced leap on ourselves same thing as before and we're just going to be jumping around everywhere so we're going to jump once again just in the direction we want to go to and we're going to open the sphincter jump all the way keep going and we're going to jump at the same Rock so either at this rock here or on top of this rock as well so it's going to look something like this I like to jump here and what we're going to do is exactly the same thing make sure that your enhanced leap is still active if you don't have it active I would just recommend recasting it like so and we're going to do a double dash cast so what we're going to do is Cash Stash and then we're going to toggle on turn base mode by doing right trigger and entering turn base mode and that should give us our Double Dash cast so it should look something like this and dash one more time and that's our two casts of Dash as you can see at the bottom left of the screen the dash is maxed out there along with still having enhanced sleeve active now we're going to do noid skip which is pretty finicky on controller but it's still able to be done what we're going to do is use our right thumb stick to go to our overhead view here and we're going to cast Jump by doing our up on the d-pad which is our jump button and we're going to aim for where it says path is interrupted like so there's multiple places but all we want to do is see where path is interrupted and I like to do it as far right as possible so it should be around this area where I like to do it so from there what we're going to be doing is mashing up on the d-pad along with a for jump so it should look something like this it might take a couple tries and you're going to need to be mashing it quite quickly and rapidly and I'm not the best at this but hopefully it will work out so it might take a while depending on how good you are with a controller mashing but eventually you should be able to get a jump that works properly so hopefully I should be able to get one soon it's a bit finicky and once again this is pretty difficult of a trick because I believe it's frame perfect for this jump so I would just recommend mashing jump in the d-pad and it should look like that and we reach the other side same thing as the keyboard and mouse rout so that might have looked very difficult but I promise you all you're doing is mashing up on the d-pad and the jump uh the except button which is a so if you do that correctly you'll see we spawned underground and we're just waiting it for it to be our turn once again here so while we wait we're we going to just uh wait here until our turn starts and then we're going to save and load the game once it's our turn here so once again it's our turn we're going to go quick to the main menu and that should save our game and we're going to go ahead and load our light L latest save so it should look something like this where we load the game and we should be put at the top of the left side in the transponder room so once again we're here up top and we're going to go ahead and cast dash one more time and we're going to go all the way towards the end of this ramp just like before in the controller route and we're going to jump all the way to the [Music] transponder once we do that skip the cut scene and use the transponder to end the prologue with the controller route made it now I'll go over the lless nooid route here so this is the most basic route that you can do without naid skip although it might be somewhat weird or difficult sometimes so what we're going to do is cast enhanced leaf on ourselves fastest way to move around and we're just going to jump forwards here open the door and we're just going to jump to lasal here which should be just a couple jumps ahead and once we hit the cut scene we're just going to skip through all lasel dialogue mesh one skip all the dialogue here and we're starting this fight from here we're going to just kill all these imps so I like to jump ahead with our T here and just attack one of them use the other for lasel to start combat here and we're just going to try to kill these as fast as possible here so you shouldn't lose this fight sure you might take some damage here and there but it's very very unlikely that you'll lose from there just going to have lose all kill the last one and then we're just going to start heading forwards so laselle doesn't matter in this run so we're just going to move ahead with our Tav here just keep moving forwards if you took damage you can use this restoration pod to heal up better and we're just making our way all the way to the transponder room here so before entering what we're going to do is if you have long Strider this is where you will cast it so just be aware of that uh otherwise if you don't have long Strider you're going to need to Triple Dash so what we're going to do is make sure to cast enhanced leap we're going to to uh cast Dash turn on turn base mode and cast Dash again if you have long Strider this is where I would cast long Strider as well beforehand then what we're going to do is do Dash turn base mode Dash once again and enter the door from here we're going to start combat here and we're going to do a cast of either Dash if you do not have long Strider or disengage as well to just be able to move past all of these extra enemies that spawn in personally I just like casting Dash a third time and what I'm going to do is jump all the way across here basically right next to the commander and we're just going to walk forwards here to hit the cut scene and now from here we're going to navigate all the way to the transponder here without getting the opportunity attack from this boore by carefully weaving our way through so you have to be very careful with your movement here just to not trigger I reach the trans right there so just be careful but you should have enough distance to reach the transponder click it and end the mission and that is the prologue done on glitchless route after the prologue you'll hit a bunch of cutcenes here just right click through all of them and we're going to just choose a dialogue option and we should end up on the beach right here so from here we're going to have two different routes so one will be the Shadow Boxing route which is only doable on keyboard and mouse and the other will be the no shadow box route which is about a minute to 2 minutes slower but it is doable on both keyboard and mouse and and controller so first I will show the Shadow Boxing route which is pretty much unchanged from previous patches starting off we're going to go ahead and just make sure we don't move it all from where we loaded in we're going to zoom in our camera and what we're going to do is turn our camera so that the left side of our screen is going to intersect with this rock here so I like to leave a little bit of The Rock the tip of the rock just at the edge of our screen here from here we're going to press W and D to move our camera diagonally to the right until our camera moves forwards so it tilts a bit in the forwards Direction and we're going to tap backwards here a couple times until our camera corrects itself just like so from here you can tap d a tiny bit more just to move it a bit but it doesn't matter for that and we're going to go ahead and open our inventory from here we're going to drag an item I like to use the scroll of revivify here and we're going to drop it on where it says Chasm here at the very right part here so where it says Chasm we're going to do two ticks down with our Mouse so it should look like one two and it should be around this area where we release left click and that sets our node so that location where we just set is all the way at the end of mountain pass so that is where we will be teleporting to in the future with our shadow box technique uh there it's notable that there is multiple Chasm lineups here so there's one I believe on this left side here just like so but we want to make sure it is is at the right side where we are doing it since there are two chasms here so it should be at around this right side of the rock where we line it up here it can be pretty difficult to line up if you are not familiar with it but once again it's right here two ticks down and release left click once you do that click the home button on your keyboard or just reenter your camera and we're going to go ahead and can cast enh hand lead and start moving forwards so from here we're going to jump twice and we're going to pick up this Barrel here this will be used in act two so this is very important to have and we're just going to keep jumping our way all the way to Shadow heart here so a couple more jumps all the way to where Shadow heart is should start the cut scene with her right click and mesh one here to go through all her dialogue and she should be recruited into your party from here if you have magic missiles equipped this is where you will cast magic missiles on her to kill her and we're going to do two swings on Shadow heart here to kill her instead of just down her I'm going to pick up all her items pick up her body and then head to camp so now that she's in our backpack we're going to go ahead and jump all the way to this pot of water here uh this is not necessary but it does help out a lot for act two for speeding up the fight so it's nice to have we jump over to these boxes and we're going to go ahead and pick up one of them here so now we're going to do the actual shadow box stuff so we're going to go ahead and cast chromatic orb of fire on the ground next to us and then turn on turn base mode immediately so the Fire doesn't go out so once we do that you'll notice the fire is on the ground and what we're going to do is open the box that we just picked up we're going to put Shadow Heart In The Box and we're going to put the Box on the ground here so if we do this hopefully the Box takes three Dam Dage which is perfect so the Box can take between 1 to four damage and what we want to have happen is the box to take damage enough damage so it doesn't break on this turn and we want the box to take at least four damage after it gets teleported over so you'll notice in our combat log here once we do this shadow box to make it move all the way to the other side of the map it's going to take at least four damage here by adding three plus whatever's left from here we're going to perform the fling which is node fling technique so from the node that we set all the way at the start at the beach we're going to use that node right here by opening this trunk and then quickly moving and dragging it so it should look something like this if done correctly so we open the box and then drag quickly on the screen as if we're trying to move it in a direction on the ground nearby but it's going to just get Warped all the way over to where the mountain pass is so it should look something like this so once we do that you'll notice that the box is no longer here and it flew all the way over Shadow heart is no longer at the left side of our screen and once we leave turn base mode the Box should take an additional tick of damage and it should turn to nighttime if we did it correctly so once again it turns to night we gained 15 experience and Shadow heart should teleport all the way over to the mountain pass so once we do that you'll notice Shadow heart's back alive we're going to go ahead and long rest calm we're going to select a dialog option I like to choose one and Shadow heart should be back in Camp with us here so once we do that we switch over to Shadow heart and then we're going to go ahead and leave camp with her so once we do that you'll notice that shadow heart is here at Mountain Pass we're going to skip through all of that dialogue and Shadow heart should just be right here at the end from here we're just going to go ahead and jump and enter the mountain Mountain Pass from here we're not going to do infinite status glitch since it no longer exists but we are still going to kill our tap here by swinging a few times with Shadow heart we're going to go ahead and pick up all of tav's inventory and then pick up tav's body what this does is it skips all of this extra dialogue with Raphael and Withers here so we don't have to deal with them and it should end the night here so once we do that uh Tav will be dead on the other side and we just left Camp we're going to go ahead and use a The Scroll of revivify on our T should revive them and we're going to go ahead and replace our magic missiles and chromatic orb spells for fog cloud and feather fall and we're going to go ahead and cast feather fall and enhance sleep on our tab make sure Shadow heart is not grouped with us and start making our way down to lazel who should be at this part right next to this uh sigil Circle once we do that we're going to talk to lazel right click to skip her dialogue and then what we're going to do is Select option three to group up with Lael so we recruit lasel to our party then we ungroup lasel again here so this makes sure that she doesn't follow us to alert all of these enemies that should show up here and what we're going to do is jump all the way with our Tav keep making our way through to this direction we're going to cast fog CL not on top of these enemies otherwise they will start combat and jump inside our fog Cloud which is slightly bugged here but we're going to go ahead and jump all the way down to the bottom here which is the start of the Shadow curse lands and if we do that all correctly we should be able to enter act two if you don't want to do the Shadow Boxing route or if you're on controller or console you should follow this route so here we're going to make sure that we have our three main spells here which are enhanced sleep featherfall and fog cloud and we're just going to be making our way all the way to mountain pass the standard way so from here we're just going to cast enhanced sleep and we're going to start making our way there on the way we're going to want to make sure we pick up this wooden barrel so make sure we grab that and we're just going to head in this direction towards around where these intellect of hours are but not too close because we don't want to enter combat with them climb up this Cliff side jump up to this cliff and we're going to jump past scale's portal here we don't need him in the route so we're just going to ignore it looks unstable somehow and we're just going to keep making our way up here so once we get to this Spike trap here uh we don't want to walk too close to this area because that'll start the grow fight so what we're going to do instead is jump to this area right here don't jump too far in this direction otherwise you'll trigger the cut scene and that'll slow you down if you do hit it just skip it but it does slow you down a little bit if you run out of enhanced Leep just recast it and keep moving forwards so we're going to go here up top into this bush and now we could jump like straight across here but you could hit the cut scene in this direction so we want to make sure we jump towards the left side you can also jump to the top here and get an A guidance amulet which is located on this skeleton which can help with some skill checks if you want but but it's not necessary so I'm not going to pick it up and make sure when you are falling down these larger slopes to have feather fall on so once we jump down here we're going to jump across this River make sure enhanced sleep is active and we're going to jump down south a little bit so the blighted village is right here so we're going to to want to ignore it so don't climb up this direction otherwise you'll hit the cut scene and instead we're just going to jump a little bit down this direction we also don't want to trigger this cut scene with aunti Ethyl so we're just going to head straight west from here avoiding all of these encounters and jump across this bridge so once we get across this bridge we're going to jump across this big gap here to the other side and in this cave there's going to be a lot of traps so right here there is a around this wooden post there's a line of Mines that we're going to try to avoid here by jumping to this bench or the table so right there this table this area right here is safe so make sure you don't jump anywhere else because there's mines everywhere from here make sure you have enhanced sleep active and jump past this wooden barrel because there's a bunch of traps in this area and we're just going to make our way all the way to the mountain pass here these goblins don't see us or interactive us so we can just jump on pass and once we get close enough to the mountain pass Shadow heart should come and we're going to get this cut scene and we're going to be able to recruit Shadow Heart by just pressing one through all her dialogue and she should be coming with us so from here we're going to enter the mountain pass we're going to switch over to Shadow heart who's now in our party and we're just going to kill our T to skip the dialogue from Raphael and Withers here so just have Shadow heart take a few swings at our t and then once our tab is dead uh loot them and pick them up and once we do that it'll end the day and we should be entering mountain pass so once we load into mountain pass this is basically the same thing as the standard speedrun route we're just going to go ahead and Revive Our Tav switch over to our have and we still have all our spells selected that we need so we're going to go ahead and ungroup ourselves from Shadow heart so she doesn't follow us has enhance sleep and feather fall and we're going to go ahead and jump down the path and we're going to go ahead and jump to lasel here and recruit her so we're going to talk to her through her dialogue and choose option three make sure to ungroup lasel so she doesn't follow us here as well jump to around this tree branch cast fog Cloud so it doesn't go into these enemies jump into our fog Cloud which is kind of bugged out graphically and we're going to jump all the way across to the other side here and down all the way to the shadow cursed lands and enter and that's it so that is it for part one of this updated honor mode speedrun and achievement tutorial for patch six so hopefully you all enjoyed it and if you want to see more make sure to like And subscribe to see more of these runs and content in the future if you have any questions comments about this run or anything about this tutorial I will be answering questions in the comments down below I have been trying to make sure that I get everyone's questions for these runs answered as I can and yeah hopefully you all enjoyed and stay tuned for part two in the future so thanks for watching and have a good day
