hey everyone I hope you're doing well I have 20 tips and tricks I have learned while playing balers Gate 3 that have made my gameplay much better everything is timestamped so jump around as needed and if this video helps you please consider leaving a like and subscribing all right let's get to it my first tip use guidance for everything it lets you roll a D4 and add that to any ability checks basically this means means you get an extra 1 to Four Points to add to your role most checks will give you the option to add it by clicking on the add bonus button in the roll screen but you can also cast it on yourself or any party member at any time to give you the bonus for Passive checks or ones you don't roll this helps with pickpocketing or if you are headed to an area that may be trapped or have something hidden you can cast guidance to help with your perception and investigation checks clerics will have access to the spell so if you keep Shadow heart in your group you are set but if not there are few in-game items that you will find that will also give you access to this spell along those lines if you fail a check don't be afraid to use inspiration to roll you have a maximum of four you can have stored up at any point and you get plenty as you play so there is no reason to hold on to them so be sure to use inspiration rerolls when you can and especially for those checks you really want to or need to pass there are also plenty of guides out there that show exactly how you can get more inspiration if you ever start running low but I've never had this issue when you leave Camp you have two different options to choose from one will take you to any way point you want to go and the other will take you back to exactly where you initially left from to go back to where you first went to Camp from Simply hit the rest icon and choose leave camp this will send you right back to where you were to select where you want to go open up your map and choose from any of the way points while you travel around the world you can open up your map and select any way point to go to just like a fast travel option this works in almost any area with some exceptions being when you are in combat or in some specific locations on the map you can have just one party member head to or leave from Camp to do this just ungroup your party with this icon or by hitting G on PC then select the person you want to send to or from Camp to send them to Camp simply hit the go to Camp button and only the character you have selected will go if you want to have someone leave Camp alone go to your map and select the Waypoint you want to send them to as a note this only works if you choose a waypoint it will not work if you choose the leave Camp option everyone in your party will leave with you grouped or not when you choose that option you can and should send camp supplies back to Camp to reduce your weight these can add up to a surprisingly large amount of extra weight you are carrying around so just open up the pack so C everything and hit send to Camp by right clicking or hitting the square or x button depending if you are on Console or PC now I assume it is a bug from the latest patch but 9 out of 10 times when I choose long rest from Camp it no longer lets me access the camp items from the Traveler's chest so I have to go grab them out of the chest first but I still think this added effort is well worth it just to reduce the weight you're carrying around while you are in Camp make sure you go around and talk to everyone including people not currently in your party by spending a couple minutes quickly going around and talking to everyone you can be sure you are progressing their story and quests especially since a lot of stuff only triggers when you talk to them in Camp really glad you don't need to worry about going through every dialogue option every single time as many of the options will always be there but if you see anything new be sure to select it and as an additional note for this make sure you do plenty of long rests to progress your story very few things are actually on a timer and will fail if you log rest many bonuses in the game last until long rest you can see that here so be sure to recast resummon or drink more Elixir again every time after a long rest one I always like to cast is is long Strider gives increased movement distance and can be cast on everyone in your party it can even be cast by someone who stays in your camp for example if you are not adventuring with Gail or a Starion just temporarily have them join you then have them casted on everyone you want now you can dismiss them and you can still have this effect switch around your party members based on your needs at almost any point you can head to Camp switch around your party members and head back to your last location so make use of everyone's various strengths and weaknesses for example if you're going for a stealth Mission choose your group to be the stealthiest characters not your Fighters that are wearing their big heavy and noisy armor or if you are going to town to trade or steal bring your high Charisma characters and a Bard or Rogue respect yourself or other party members to try out different builds and classes there are many to choose from with even more options to customize as you level up unless you plan on doing several playthroughs respect yourself a few times it only costs 100 gold and gives you the chance to experiment with a different class who knows you may find one that you like better talk with animals as often as you can anytime you see them either use the spell speak with animals or the potion of animal speaking all the animals have great dialogue and in many cases they can actually be very helpful to you I've had Animals help me find someone or something help fight help break down a barrier or just give me useful information for my current Quest shut when you know you will be attacking at the end of your dialogue move your other party members around first before hitting your last response select this icon to control a different party map member then go through and move them all to more ideal locations you may need to ungroup your party depending on how spread out you want to be doing this will help you set up Advantage other bonuses such as sneak attack or just prevent your entire party from getting hit with one area of effect spell and realistically when you are listening in on a conversation that looks like it will end in a fight you're not going to just stand still in a tight Clump with everyone else especially in a world with AOE damage so be sure to make use of this feature make use of explosives in the area or lay down your own there are plenty of battles where you will find explosives or flammables around that you can shoot with a fire arrow or spell to set off for extra damage or you will find many times where you have a chance to run around and drop a few explosives next to people before you actually enter battle mid battle you can even have one character throw some explosives onto a fire or as a setup for someone else to hit on their next turn also don't forget about all those grease bottles they burn too if you have bit off more than you can chew you can run away from any fight this will have different levels of Effectiveness depending on your location turn order movement distance and who you are fighting but in any battle you can just Dash to run away you may take some damage as you flee but once you are far enough away you can head to Camp or travel away this also works best if you are next to an area that has a load in for example here in the Grove because you can just run in there and they will not follow you and depending on who it was you were fighting you may be able to just head back out without their aggression continuing or you can just travel to a different location altogether together disguise yourself when you cast speak with the dead on someone you just killed many corpses will give you very useful information if you cast the speak with dead spell but if you are the one who just killed them they will not talk to you so use disguise s and now they will answer up to five questions for you as a note this does not work on all corpses including but not limited to Undead skeletons and those who may have been killed with a or fire use disguise self and or different characters to interact and talk to NPCs you don't always need to have your main character be the one taking the lead on everything sometimes it benefits you to select someone else to do the talking for example choose the character with the highest Charisma to do all your trading they will get far better prices or choosing LEL anytime you speak with another gith Yankee will give you a unique dialogue you will also find depending on the situation many classes will often have their own dialogue options too you can also use disguise self for this for example if you disguise yourself as a Dr goblins will generally let you walk right on by you can drink potions from anyone's inventory so if you are in need of healing you don't actually need to have the potion on you you can have one person carry them all and just drink it directly out of their screen this is especially useful for keeping weight low on specific characters but still letting them have access to the potions needed can't afford to stay idle you can change the available Spells at any time on some classes and have it immediately available to cast as long as you still have the spell Slots of the level required available this one took me a long time to discover because it is different from regular Dungeons and Dragons where you usually need to prepare the spells for the day but it is really useful especially for any ritual spells that don't require concentration that you may need to use but don't want to take up space from your prepared battle spells this only works with characters that have different spells they can use so for example it works on clerics or wizards but not warlocks safes come to explore different dialogue options I'm not talking about the roles unless that's what you want but the actual different options of things to say I know this is very subjective but if you are having a hard time deciding what to say or see a dialogue option that looks interesting or amusing do a quick save then choose it once you're done if you didn't like the outcome or you just initially chose it to see what would happen you can reload and choose the actual option you want you may even end up finding some neat bonuses or stories this way that normally you would have missed this is exactly how I ended up with lit's buff I have that video linked below if you want to take a look at it I have something Exquisite in mind and last but not least if you're walking around and a pop-up says you failed a survival check stop where you are and dig just have to select the shovel from your inventory and then and confirm where you want to dig most times you will dig up a buried chest with loot in it well that's all the tips and tricks I have for you this time hopefully you learn something new let me know in the comments below if this helped you or if you have any tips of your own thanks for watching and see you next time it's the feathered creature it's the AL bear cup
